In the "game of life", buying an automobile is one of those experiences you fully and completely expect to be, at best, unpleasant and, at worst, excruciatingly painful. It is a necessary evil which must be done. Moreover, its something you have to do, but hate the thought of actually going through the process. My wife hand I recently embarked on that journey and, fortunately, not only was the experience neither unpleasant nor painful, it was actually enjoyable. That was, of course, only because we first visited Rick Hendrick BMW and luckily were assisted by Umut Engin - the most pleasant, proficient, and professional automobile salesman we have ever met. After doing some fairly extensive internet research, we had a good idea of the type of vehicle my wife wanted to purchase. We presented our ideas to Umut and in very short order he built the car we ultimately bought. He presented all of the available up-grade options, as well as the financing possibilities. All of this was done in Umuts calm and, most importantly, non-pushy manner. After an hour or so, my wife had the automobile she wanted and we placed the order. We understood, of course, that we werent taking the car home that day, but would be picking it up in a few weeks. Fortunately, it was going to be built in Spartanburg so we did not have to wait too long. During the interim, Umut periodically updated us on the vehicles status and the progress of the construction. About a month after our initial visit, Umut called and said the car was ready and available for pickup. He took my wife through the vehicles ins and outs and made sure we were satisfied with the purchase. The X-3 looked even better than my wife had imagined. BMWs are truly the ultimate driving machines. As an aside, Umut has continued to be in contact with us regarding the car and my wifes level of satisfaction. Just like most people, we have purchased a number of automobiles in our lives both together and separately for various dealerships in the Charleston area and elsewhere. No other car buying endeavor comes close to the one we had with Umut. We heartily recommend him and hope this review helps others actually have a pleasurable experience at an automobile dealership. Our experience was so amazingly pleasant, we have both recommended Umut to several of our friends, family, and co-workers. I am actually looking to purchase A BMW of my own and have been back to the dealership on several occasions. Finally, not only was Umut a refreshing change to what we expected, but all of the personnel we came into contact with at the BMW dealership were very accommodating, very professional, and very pleasant. I doubt we will be going anywhere else now or in the future.

Owner of a 2012 XC60 that I really adore. I don't drive that much so I have been having trouble putting on the miles for my scheduled service. The car is exceptionally reliable and I have rare need for service. Recently came in for my 21K service and was treated excellently by all who I came in contact with. The entire dealership treats you like family! I was able to wait on my vehicle- great wifi service and a comfortable place to actually do some work! Thanks, Volvo!!

We had one need and one desire both of which Bryce Salyers of the Rick Hendrick's Volvo sales staff absolutely resolved for us even more than we imagined possible. Desires come first when your wife is struggling with breast cancer and her desire was for a convertible. Understanding the importance of our request, Bryce put us into the most fantastic convertible we had ever driven, the C70. Reality, however, never takes a vacation so our need (just a few weeks later) for a replacement for our aging S80 sent us back to Rick Hendrick's Volvo where Bryce once again totally met our needs both from a taste and financial perspective. We have always been leery of dealerships and their sales staff but given our experience with Bryce and this dealership we would recommend it to everyone.

I bought a Mini CooperS Convertible two years ago. I have always received excellent service. I live two hours away and was worried about buying a car from a dealership that far away. However, when the Mini goes in for service, we are given a loaner car so my husband and I can go eat lunch, shop, etc. I have never dealt with any other car dealer who does this. While we are out enjoying ourselves around the beautiful city of Charleston, we know that the Mini is getting the best service possible. When we get back, the Mini has even had a wash! Any questions or concerns I may ever have about the car are addressed in a professional, courteous manner. Couldn't be more pleased!

Because I had to drop off my car late in the afternoon and was driving from 70 miles away, I was granted a loaner car (of course a 2013 XC60~extremely nice and well-planned on Volvo's part!!). Amy helped me over the phone with a check engine light issue and quickly got the ball rolling for the repair. She had a Volvo loaner car ready for me when I arrived and the next morning I received an email with repair details. The service department took care of the repair and also reported tire wear and fluid levels. I always feel spoiled when I pick up my shiny, clean car. By Earl and Elvira Edmund from Summerville SC | June 21 2014 Both Elvira and I drive Volvo Vehicles, my vehicle is an S80 and I get excellent service during each visit as I have come to expect. My service provider Amy is great. Elvira drives a V70 which she just brought back to South Carolina from Arizona. This first visit was in May and the service was for rough idling and power lost during uphill and acceleration. The second visit was two weeks later and when I picked up the vehicle it lost power less than two miles from the dealership. The next day I call and spoke to Amy and she had the vehicle towed to the dealership. Long story short the vehicle was fixed and I do not have any issues so far. We have been Volvo drivers for the last 10 years and have used Volvo dealers in several states. I am looking forward to the same excellent service from Rick Hendrick Volvo that I have accustomed to over the last 10 years.

I like to change the oil in my MINI between the free service intervals. Unfortunately I drained the oil and didn't have enough oil to refill it. My friendly MINI service advisor suggested I have the car towed in at no cost under the warranty coverage. The flat bed was here in no time at all and I travelled in the truck to the dealership. In view of the short notice, I expected to wait for several other jobs to be completed before they got to me. However to my surprise and delight they soon had the car on a lift and I was on my way with an engine full of fresh oil, in a spotlessly clean car, much faster than anyone could reasonably expect. Where else can you get service like that?

I took my Mini to Charleston for a paint job covered under warranty,a seat replacement also warranty, and as I was there had them do all service that was due. Being in Sunset Beach NC they were my closest dealer. They did a MAGNIFICENT job on the paint and seat replace. There service dept. was excellent especially the service advisor Chris Wells ( the best ) . Chris made everything go smooth and easy making my experience a very enjoyable one to say the least. I purchased my 2004 Volvo S80 from another Hendrick dealership, but came to the Volvo dealership for maintenance. The service manager got my paperwork done and had me on the road in a loaner car within 15 minutes of my arrival, and the work was done hours faster than I expected. The car was washed and detailed when I picked up, and they were very thorough in their explanations of the work completed. I always worry about added expenses when using a dealer for service, but it was no more than going to a private garage, and I had the loaner and clean car to return to! I will certainly be coming back here for service!

I moved to Charleston ten years ago with my Volvo V70 Turbo. I had a sunroof issue and called Mini of Charleston for service. I'm 90 minutes from Charleston and they set me up with a free loaner for the day. It was a new Cooper S Countryman, which matched my own Mini. I was visiting Charleston when they called and said they needed to order parts. Rather than returning to the dealership, they sent me home with the loaner for six days. It was a generous act that made the entire experience much better. I returned when the car was ready and was in and out in 5 minutes and back into my own car which had been washed and vacuumed and prepared for my return. Mini of Charleston came thru and made certain that I had a positive experience.

I purchased my BMW's over seas, and Rick Hendrick BMW takes care of them as though they built it and sold it to me themselves. That Pride in the BMW brand is why I will let no one else service or repair my current BMW. There is a BMW dealership in my home town, BUT, I choose to drive over 90 miles to get them to service my BMW and it is without question worth every minute and mile on the road. I made an appointment with BMW for a regular service and had a great overall experience. While my car was being serviced I asked them to check out some scratches I had from road work. The service experience is great at Rick Hendrick Volvo. Your appointment is easy to make online or over the phone. You can also request a loaner car if you need one. My experience was an easy appointment to make; a great loaner car; on time completion; a call to let me know the car was ready; and a complimentary car wash! I only wish they can make some adjustments to the service desk area and give the service managers more room to work in while you check in.

Attentive and efficient service advisers, the most recent contact was James Jackson, and all that I've dealt with appear knowledgeable, well trained and aware of the value of positive P R. The facilities are attractive and comfortable. For longer service requirements loaner cars seem readily available . The Service Managers, Rob Moore and his predecessor, LaFlame (sic) were both readily accessible to the service customer. Repairs were done correctly and no call-backs were needed. This review covers several visits over a 2 year period.

Even though I did not have an appointment, I had a serious need for service (my battery wasn't charging) and they took me right in so I wouldn't be stranded. I was kept apprised of the repairs (an alternator had to be overnighted) and was able to pick my car up the next afternoon. Definitely excellent customer service and it is most appreciated.

We have had our Volvo XC90 serviced at Rick Hendrick for 3 years since moving from another state. They have honored our 5-year/60,000 mi free service agreement without question and recently attempted a quick fix on a door I had damaged. They couldn't fix it without major new parts, but returned the car with no charges at all. We continue to be very pleased with their service.

I've owned my MINI Clubman S for almost 2 years now, and it's exclusively serviced at MINI of Charleston. From the first time I walked through the door and met Stuart Kestenbaum, to dropping off and picking up my MINI with Chris Wells, the service techs, the parts advisors- all top-caliber personnel who really know MINI! The facilities are 2nd to none- I have a ball looking at the Motoring Gear and the new MINIs in the service area, or simply talking shop with Stuart or Chris. I've never had a dealership make me think this far in advance about my next car- MINI of Charleston has done just that. I will almost certainly replace my Clubman with another MINI when the time comes, and MINI of Charleston is the prime reason why!

Volvo of Charleston is great. I have bought three CPO Volvo vehicles from the dealership and the biggest factor is the white glove treatment from the sales staff and service department. Loaners are always available and they have even delivered my car a number of times when I could not get over to pick it up at a convenient time. The Service Team makes you feel like your car is important to them and that you are a special customer. I recently acquired a used 2007 Mini Cooper S for a car dealer near me. The car required some attention and had some recall work that needed to be done. I made an appointment using the online scheduling tool available with Mini of Charleston. It was outstanding providing me with date/time options, etc. I quickly received a confirmation of the appointment and drove 119 miles arriving at the appointed hour. The service folks were simply great and had everything ready to go. A loaner, a new Mini roadster, was provided and my wife and I went to spend the day in beautiful downtown Charleston. Shortly after lunch, I got a call that all the work was done and the car ready to go. I've owned 38 different cars/trucks over the years and this service was simply outstanding in my book, equaling or exceeding the best I've ever received and better than some "premium" car dealers. The facility was very nice and provided the opportunity to shop for some Mini "goodies" while there. Both the Service and Parts folks were just super. Special thanks to Matt Hair for his help in getting a spare key for my car.

My husband hit a pothole in our Mini Countryman, not even realizing he had blown the run flat tire until someone at work notified him that his tire was completely flat. He immediately called Rick Hendricks of Charleston and within minutes, his car was on its way to being cared for. Rick Hendricks had to have the tire sent over from another location and that was going to take some time, I had appointments to keep, so a "loaner" car was given to my husband which was perfect, since he needed to get to work! Now my husband has learned....avoid potholes, lol. He loves his "mini" and we both love the service we get at Mini of Charleston. Thank you!

I had just relocated to Charleston and needed service on my MINI. Even though I had no previous appointment the Service Department fitted me in. I needed a loaner car and again, even though these are usually booked, they provided a loaner. I was waiting for my furniture to arrive from New York so was able to carry on with no stress. They did a full service as well as tend to the recall problem. I would highly recommend the team, when you need help, they are there.

I have purchased 3 cars from Rick Hendrick BMW. Each time the sales person was knowledgeable and attentive to what I wanted and was looking for and went out of their way to find a car with which I was happy. They followed up after the sale to express the appreciation of the dealership and find out if I had any problems or concerns that needed to be addressed. When I've taken a car in for service, the service reps have been excellent about asking the appropriate questions to ascertain what type of service and/or repair was needed. The service techs would look the car over to see if there were any other problems or potential problems. I was kept informed regarding the work being performed and an estimated finish time. The staff always appears and conducts themselves in a professional and friendly manner. The waiting area is comfortable and plenty of juice, water, coffee and light snacks are provided in a hospitality area. I've always felt confident in the work performed and would not hesitate to drive cross-country straight out of the service department. Overall, it is always a pleasant experience visiting Rick Hendrick BMW. I highly recommend them for sales and service/repair.

Since buying our XC 90 at Rick Hendrick Volvo a few years ago, my wife and I have taken the vehicle to their Service Center for a number of routine items such as oil changes, tire rotations, and other minor maintenance services. We have also had to have some minor repairs completed there. On every occasion, their friendly and professional staff has extended themselves to provide us with thorough details about the work to be done, the timing to complete the work, and the price of the finished job. They also have reliably kept us informed by phone about the progress of work and, when needed, generously offered us a loaner to use. Bottom line, in our eyes, they have established a very strong brand of efficient, friendly, and responsive customer service there. That's why we return for any matters concerning our XC 90.

I bought my Mini here. There are (were?) only two Mini dealers in the state, this is the furthest from me (about 200 miles!), but I knew to buy here after visiting them both. Anyhow, we were in Charleston for a visit, and had trouble with the steering on the way down. They took us in at 3:30 Friday afternoon and diagnosed the problem, and put us first in line for service on Monday morning. Their shop is open Saturday, but was slammed, I guess that's the day most people can schedule service.

We are on our third MINI and that should speak for itself. We progressed from one of the first standard MINIs to an 'S' and now our JCW hatchback. We have enjoyed driving all three and they have never let us down. In fact they have been among the most reliable and economical cars we have owned. A MINI is the most fun you can have every day on four wheels, and it's practical too with the fold down rear seats. We do not want to be without one, and as long as we live here Rick Hendrick MINI will take care of it for us. Good people, knowledgable and helpful. With the free service that comes with the car, how can you do better than that?

This is my first BMW and I love my Ultimate Driving Machine. The icing on the cake is the excellent service team at Rick Hendrick BMW of Charleston. I am always made to feel that my safety and convenience are of utmost importance. As a single Senior citizen, I feel very secure in my car with the support I have received from the Service Department. Only a phone call and less than 2 hours later my head lights have been replaced--my punctured tire replaced. All done with a smile!

Any company can drop the ball, even one as good as Rick Hendrick, but how they react once it's identified is the true measure of customer service. I had a minor issue-turned out to be user error-with my 3 series convertible. Appointment with loaner car easily made, but i tried calling a couple of days ahead to forestall the need for the appointment wondering if it was me or the car. Unfortunately no one returned my call and we went in with the car to discover there was nothing wrong at all, just something in the way. Car cleaned, ready for pick up as promised and off we went. I wrote in that I was dissapointed that no one returned my call because it might have saved both of us the need for the time spent. The online review was barely "submitted" when my phone rang and the service manager called to apologize profusely for voice message not being conveyed to him. Promised to do better next time and I believe they will.

I have purchased 2 volvo's from Rick Hendricks a 1989 240 DL 300,000 miles and three girls in their teens.and now a 2012 volvo S60. I find the price of all cars very high now days, but Rick Hendricks service Department makes it worth the money. The volvo is a great car and the service I receive is second to none. I tell them about a problem they take my car give me a loner and call me when it's repaired. Can't beat that. I was extremely impressed with the level of professionalism demonstrated by the service representative, Stuart K. He went out of his way to explain in detail what needed to be done to repair my Mini and get it back on the road and running. He also provided me with additional information about Mini's service and warranty coverage. After the repairs were completed, I received not only a phone call but also an e-mail from the service department inquiring about my experience with their department. Overall I was very satisfied with the level of service at Mini of Charleston and will definitely return for maintenance in the future.

This is for BMW service: I had 2 clear issues that I wanted fixed: a clicking wheel noise and a sunscreen that's stuck. To make it short: after a total of 4 days in the shop and multiple visits, I was told to pick up my car because it's fixed. When I got there, they told me they were sorry that the sunscreen wasn't fixed (after I was told it was) due to receiving the wrong parts). After I left, I realized that the clicking noise is still there. I am not sure where all the time went working on the car and what parts they changed (obviously not the problem), but the only thing that they did right after 4 days in the shop is put a quart of oil in! But to be fair, they told me they will fix the sunscreen when the part gets there but I have to wait another 12 days! I dealt with 2 other BMW dealerships before I moved to Charleston and never was disappointed till now!

Have been a Rick Hendricks customer for 17 years and 6 car purchases and/or leases. My only complaint has been getting the service dept to answer the phone. This problem started about seven years ago and has not gotten any better lately. On a number of occasions I have resorted to calling Tom Heater in sales who then had the service dept promptly call me back. Once you get to talk with someone the experience is 1st class and the coffee is great.

I purchased 2 new Volvo's recently from this dealership, an S80 and an XC90. I wanted to upgrade the steering wheel in the S80, to one with a wood grain. Cara in the parts department was "on it," and had the new steering wheel in a few days. The service department installed it in 30 minutes while I waited!

Rick Hendrick BMW has the best service team in Charleston. They are just that, a TEAM! Everyone is always very polite and courteous. I have worked with several Service Advisors but most recently I worked with Amy and I hope I get her every single time. She was excellent! Her professionalism and knowledge about BMW and it's services were outstanding. I work in Human Resources and I can tell when employees do not like their work environment.... you can certainly tell this group LOVES what they do and they mean it.

I have purchased several BMW's since 1987 and all from Rick Hendrick Imports because of the Service Team. Over the years some of the faces have changed but the message of customer service has not. These folks are The Ultimate Service Team. The few times over the years that my cars needed something other than standard service they kept me informed through the process and kept me on the road with another vehicle. My most recent service was 5 Star as usual. Thanks again...

like the front face of the service shop but the mechanical follow through lacks alot: expensive, not thorough and here lately with my AC i am left wondering if i am being churned. spent alot of monies with little improvement. and i employ a lot of 30 somethings with good salaries so i am thinking of letting lots of folks know just how i feel

Service Department is always willing, ready and able to take care of your needs. Appointments are made, you are expected when you arrive and everyone is courteous and helpful. The car is fixed right the first time and that saves a return trip. Couldn't ask for better!

Whether it is a scheduled appointment or spur of the moment emergency, RH BMW has been more than accommodating. You get set up with a sweet BMW loaner, usually matched to the car you own (my last was a 335 coupe convertible M-sport with 5,000 miles on it), and when you return your car is done, washed, vacuumed.........what more do you want. In my service time there, they have never been late, always send you phone and email reminders, and have you processed in just a couple minutes........no waiting like you are going to the doctor. Their product is awesome and sells itself, but the service department is just as good.

Buying from and having my cars serviced at Volvo of Charleston has been the best auto experience of my driving years. The staff are courteous and knowledge and always professional. I recently had a repair they initially thought was covered under an extended warranty. When it was discovered it was not covered, they kept their word and I was not charged. THAT is customer service at its best.

Brought my 2001 S60 in for a transmission issue. I was told to expect a call the next morning after they had a chance to diagnose the problem. When the call came in--earlier than expected--I was told that it was done. But the big surprise came when I learned that the cost was significantly LESS--yes, less--than I had expected. Car repairs make me more anxious than anything in life. I tend to avoid dealerships at all cost. This experience may have changed my mind!

I consider my Volvo XC 70 to be the best car I have ever owned, and I have owned many, many cars. The quality is phenomenal. Its standards for safety are superb and it has saved my life at least once. I can count on this car to do just what I ask of it in a pinch. The seats are the literally the best in the industry. Rick Hendrick Volvo service has a level of quality that matches the car's quality. In the 7 years that they have serviced this car, I've had nothing but praise, and the costs are at or below anyone else's. I've put nearly 200,000 miles on this car and it is still a reliable performer.

This is our second MINI and we are enjoying both. Like another reviewer, we had doubts about buying a vehicle when the service was some 3 hours away but we have had no problems with either of our MINIs and Rick Hendrick's Service Department has been excellent to work with. We have never had a problem scheduling a service date/time that was most convenient to us. The service is always performed on time and we are kept informed about the progress. They are very responsive to e-mail questions and very helpful providing information about acessories. We had a choice between Charleston, SC, Greenville, SC and Atlanta Dealerships and we are very glad we chose Rick Hindrick in Charleston.

Four in the half years ago, while in the process of moving to Savannah,Ga., we decided to by a MINI.We had options on where we could buy our MINI, but after some short conversations Hendrick's team we were convinced that the right choice for us would be Rich Hendricks Imports in Charleston,SC. We were very happy with the buying experience, and the service department has proven to be wonderful. One might question living in Savannah and having service work done in Charleston, but 4 1/2 years into the process, we have never been disappointed. Customer Service is beyond belief. Going to Hendrick's has become an outing for us.Since the MINI rarely needs service we treat our trip to Charles as a "day out on the town". We arrive early and are provided with a loaner. Therefore while the MINI is receiving its service we are enjoying the day in Charleston. It doesn't get any better than that. Rick Hendricks Imports knows how to treat a Mini and it really treats its customers wonderfully

Took our 2013 5 series in for a minor repair. Found the service dept not quite as organized as hendrick lexus svc dept. Perhaps all hendrick svc depts could take a lesson from lexus. They are extrrmely organized, courteous & on top of things. And we never had to refuel the lexus loaner car ad we had to for the bmw. Perhaps we should have purchased another lexus.

Ended up getting running boards for my XC 60- ordered them and they arrived within one week. scheduled installation and arrived at Volvo. The Service Tech was asked to give a Labor projected cost, and he advised me that these running boards were close to the car and did not have a large gap like XC 90 running boards. I had the chance to defer having these mounted. I thanked him for his honesty and forthrightness. They were pricey but make the vehicle look even nicer.
