So far so good! Went on a Saturday afternoon with an appointment. Took about 2 hours but i walked out with my first new car! Love my kia!! Salesman was great. Somehow he picked the car i wanted without me even knowing what I wanted! Communication back and forth before I got there was great. They got things started. Not sure if I overpaid, but I'm pleased with what I got!

I would give this dealership 0 stars if it was possible. Probably the worst service I have ever had with any dealership. I made multiple trips out to the location within the span of a few weeks and was disappointed by their sales staff every time. Before each trip, I made sure to call the sales staff and clarify that the vehicle I wanted was on the lot and within time short time between the call and going to the location, somehow the car was not on the lot. Also, they will lie about/misconstrue deals and/or prices, even if you ask them to clarify what the website deals mean. I would understand if it was a one time mistake with a salesperson but I have experienced this time and time again with multiple different sales staff. They clearly have no idea what they are doing and are turning away paying customers with their customer service. I have never experienced this with any other place and I can guarantee I will not be returning here or recommending it to anyone— no matter how good the deals seem. It’s not worth your time or the hassle, take yourself somewhere else.

My experience with used car dealers wasn't favorable. Sometime taking more than 4 hours to close the deal. I'm not a big haggler. LAP offered price was reasonable and I really appreciate the fact that they didn't push to sell extended warranty. Price was fair, processing time was just over 2 hours, and car was good in condition. Matt was very friendly and his manager was also friendly.

Very unprofessional dealer. I called them to check if a car was available and the manager Matthew told me that they have the same model and year car available just different color and asked me when can I go to check it out. I immediately got in my car and I drove 30 miles to go check that car and when I got there they told me that they don't have the car anymore. I asked to speak with the person I spoke on the phone Matthew and he told me that they just sold that car. Impossible to sell a car for 35 minutes when you have paperwork to fill out, plus when I got there there was just one couple checking another car. So I ended up driving 60 miles for nothing. I will never ever buy a car from that dealer.

I was originally contacted by Dan to come in to start the process of getting a vehicle. Upon arrjval at my appointment at 10am and after waiting 3 hours for him I decided to ask Martin if he would help ,me once he was done with his customer and he said yes. He was very nice and helpful..My credit wasn't the best so he worked with me to get me approved! His customer service was excellent. Because my credit wasn't the best it was a challenge but Martin said to me don't worry were gonna get u approved. Paperwork was done and I got a call from Dan to come in and get a car..of course again he was not there so Martin continued the process for me. I was worried it wasn't gonna happen again he said you'really leaving in a car today and I did a 2009 Honda Ex-l that I Love! We need more salesmen like Martin he worked so hard to get me approved and in a dependable car! I have referred friends and family to this dealership and told them to ask for Martin!!! Also the finance manager Mike was excellent also...he worked and worked and worked to get me approvedas well! Thank ya'll so very much!!!!!!

Dealt with George Solayman. (Thumbs UP)Right off the bat I showed him the dealership's internet offer since it was a great price to get me to the dealership. KBB.com kept bring me back to Liberty Nissan as the best price after multiple searches. Small Negative: Right away George was up front and honest and informed me that I needed to have the active/recently discharged military discount ($750), recent grad discount ($750), plus takes Nissan's 4.99% finance to get that exact internet price from Nissan incentives. That ploy was the only drawback from getting an excellent rating above but other dealerships (some when you had to inquired about them) ended up finally telling me the same thing concerning the incentives Nissan was offering. Only wish Liberty would have stated that online "Best Price dependent on qualifying incentives such as....." but I get it, enticing price through advertisement. But I'm glad George was upfront and didn't wait until paperwork was being drawn up to tell me this. I had the recent grad so just adding back $750 to the internet price was still a fantastic deal. Overwhelming Positive to my wallet:Too good to be true attitude had me leave and visit 4 other local dealerships that couldn't/wouldn't come close. Came back to Liberty and even through the financing department George stayed true to his promise that the price we agreed upon after online price and then add title, doc fee and tax would not change AND IT DIDN"T. I read bad online reviews about how numbers would change when it got to financing and he told about their bad reputation online but that was not true in my experience. Up front and honest and encouraged me to look elsewhere to get a better deal; which I did. My OUT THE DOOR price at Liberty Nissan with tax, title, and doc fees was better than most other local dealership's STARTING PRICE before tax, title, doc fee was included. At the a few dealerships I got a lot games played with withholding incentives and/or after I brought to their attention got a "Oh, wait a minute and let me see if that is still available." Not with Liberty... George and Nina, the internet rep, reconfirmed over the phone all Nissan's available incentives and did not play games. Got a great deal on a new car with 11 miles, not the demo car if you were wondering, that no other dealership could touch. Gave me 3 other options of colors to choose from in the model trim on the lot I wanted as well. Nice work George!!! Working the numbers with financeCould have got the 0% Nissan financing but they honesty stated that I would lose the around $2000 incentive for going with Nissan's standard $4.99% APR. For most people this is not a big deal since the Nissan incentive is so large and Nissan after 90 days allows you to pay off the loan and/or refinance at a extremely low % rate banks are offing these days is the way to go and suggested. Liberty finance gave me all the options and ran the number right in front of me and it was much appreciated. IcingEven threw in 4 free oil changes and unlimited car washes. Which might be standard for the sales at Liberty but still a great final push. Customer service: Politely was offered extra warranties and protections for the car but I declined without any added pressure to reconsider. No hassle approach. Thanks Liberty

The internet prices listed are just trap for customers to get in the dealership. You know the true price after take the test drive and fall in love to the car. Then they use the "professionals" who are expert in ripping you off. However, Nina did not hide the fact on the phone, when I asked explicitly, "Can I get the car on the internet price using all cash or at 0% APR" Answer was no. You must finance it for at least 90 days and then can pay off. or add 1500 into the internet price. Strange formula....

Slow respond. DO not honor advertised price. To get something close to that price you must be recent college graduate within 2 years AND any military involvement (all in one), but it still not guarantee to get this price. When I asked for out of the door price, they asked me some questions, I answered, but after that, instead of get total price, I received answer:"WE DO NOT email or text our customers OUT THE DOOR prices." Why did you ask me? and what is problem to provide out of the door price base on your advertising price? I do no like games like this....

Simply called this dealership to accrue about a new nissan altima that was on their website. I talked to a sales person at first who told me about that they still had the vehicle in stock, they clearly did not have any training. As she was telling me about a destination fee she was saying that I have to pay for the distance between my home and the dealership. She then transferred me to financing because she couldn't answer simple questions like APR. When I was transferred I spoke with the lady in financing who kept going back and forth with what she was saying. The lady rudely hung up in my face and said "xxxx off" after questioning my education. Yours truly Liberty Nissan

Internet Price was $29,999. Financing was 0% for 72 months. Called to confirm price and financing. Salesman confirmed over the phone. Drove 40 minutes to purchase vehicle. Wanted to test drive on highway to see how it handled at highway speeds. The Salesman told me that we WERENT ALLOWED TO TEST DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY!! Made up some excuse. Test drive was 3 minutes long. Sat down to discuss pricing. Turns out the internet price includes a $1500 rebate for military and recent college grads...this wasn't stated. OK fine. We agree on a price of $31,499. I literally sign on the paper to confirm. He comes back from confirming with sales manager and starts writing out the official price sheet...he just DECIDES TO ADD $3,000...hoping i wouldn't notice!!!! I stop him, we argue...i ask to see the original offer i signed...IT HAS NOW MAGICALLY DISAPPEARED!!!...I'm not making this up. I ask for $500 more on my trade in. He agrees and we shake on it and confirm that in writing. He sends me to the finance department. THE EXTRA $500 ON THE TRADE IN NOW MAGICALLY DISAPPEARS when i get to the finance department!!!! Also the 0% financing stated on there website is NOW 4.96%!!!!these are borderline illegal tactics they are using.... if you see their pricing on the internet on autotrader or cars.com, just add about $4,500 to get the real price. they put the low prices on the internet just to get to the top of the search listings.... also, be prepared to be belittled, lied to, made fun of, and generally taken advantage of. Other than that....great selection i guess...

Dealt with a salesman named George and Gregg and they were so rude to me when I was ready to buy the car. After test driving George was screaming at me in the middle of the parking lot with people there because I had a simple question about the car after. Also during negotiations Gregg would throw random fees on top of the car which made it almost 3000 dollars more than the list price. Horrible dealership do not buy

Ms. Alana Escobedo was awesome in her care for my wife and my three children. Sean the manager and Brandon the salesman were excellent. They were very informative and classy in handling us and placing us into a beautiful KIA that we enjoy that fit our budget and safety needs. If you are looking for first class, best in the business service and honesty, you have reached the right place at the Liberty Auto Plaza. Was ready to proceed and could not make it to dealer that day so sales rep said I needed to put down deposit to secure truck because it wasn't technically sold. Refused at time then reached out to sales rep asking how that process would go. He proceeded to say that option was no longer available and would be showing the truck to another POTENTIAL buyer later that evening. Was later told truck was still available. I refuse to work with a dealer that will play games and pull a vehicle from someone ready to close the deal.

I purchased a car from this dealer and it was not a bad experience but... If I owned a dealership it would be mandatory to wear a clean shirt and a tie, and not smell like a cigarette when dealing directly with customers. All salesmen would be clean shaven and would be very knowledgable about every vehicle they sell, not just know the very minimum and a few key talking points. I did a couple of hours of online research before going in and seemingly knew significantly more about the 2016 Maxima (i.e. The difference between each trim level) than my salesman. The finance department was good and the service department was great.

Scott Nielsen is a great guy. I came in to check out the colors of the new Maxima and he sent me home in one! I actually planned on buying from a dealer closer to my house. I knew the dealer invoice price and I'm not an easy sale. But, Scott has a great personality (which is a great departure from the normal salesman sleaze) and he got me a better deal than I hoped for!!! He made the whole experience very simple and kinda fun. And the financing department got me a better interest rate than I thought possible with my low credit score! I would definitely recommend visiting this dealership and asking for Scott.

I live in the Quad Cities, about 3 hours away, but Liberty Auto plaza had the lowest prices in the area. So low that local dealerships wouldn't match them. I had been apprehensive about traveling to purchase a car, largely due to the stories told to me by local salesmen. I could not have had a smoother transaction. Whether it was negotiating price on line and over the phone with Alana and Nina, or actually traveling to pick up the car and dealing with Scott Nielson, or the Finanace guy Jay, everything was above board and super smooth. I would recommend them to anyone.

I wound up buying a used Mazda 3 at Liberty Auto Plaza near the end of March. To behonest, based on the reviews I read on here I was skeptical to begin with.I dealt with Nick Witherspoon and their used car manager. You must know that they add $399 on to the price of any used car for "dealer prep fees". This practice is a little deceptive and is barely visible on their website. It allows them to advertise their used cars online for less. Just be aware of this fact going in. Other than that I was extremely pleased with the dealership and the transaction. Our negotiations were simple and courteous and in all was completed in about 2 hours.

I had an appointment 10 o'clock Monday I got there the car was sold . They told me they can find another car but my payments could not be within that range at all they don't know why they told me that on the phone the suntan and I drove 2 1/2 hours one way!!! I was a rate they said they don't know why the person on the phone told me that they shouldn't have so I would be very careful of this dealership ,!

bought a 2016 nissan pathfinder January 26th 2016.The sales manager Joel and, sales rep Jim Sandler and finance manager are very rude.. First of all I did not testify derive the car,all they wanted to so was pull my credit and sell a car..They sold me the wrong car with Navigation,I drive an hour 30mins home, realize the next morning there was no navigation..I called the dealership they kept saying they call me back but they never did,I was able to get a hold of the general manager steve. He said to come return the car, when I got there they told me I had to pay 3,000 more..They pulled out the one with the navigator,it did not look like a black one and on the key the color says midnight jade,it told the sales person the color was wrong..He said no that's black and midnight jade is a different shades of black..I signed the paper work and changed my insurance before leaving the dealership..I went to the back to see if the car was washed when I got there it was a green car...Sales person tried to convince me to get the green one saying people won't know it's green and it looks like black,I said no..They brought a black one..Had to sign paper work..A week later I realize Vin number on my registration and paper work was wrong.Called dealership but they refused to change the vin number even if it was their mistake so I called Nissan directly, nissan called me back and said the dealership will fix this and call me back but they never did..I don't understand how this people have a job, they are so unprofessional and have the worst customer service ever..They also paid off my trade late ,my previous loan company reported me as late and said I have to get a letter from libertyville saying when the car was traded in but ofcourse they won't do it...Please please do not go there..I still drive my car with the wrong vin number

Our salesman was good but the sales manager mocked us over trying to stand firm at the price we shook hands and agreed upon. They made us wait for more than we should have to seemingly wear us down. At the end of the the experience, manager tried to include extra fees and mocked us more as he came back with different prices. I would never recommend someone purchasing a vehicle from here.

I was looking for a new car, and have to say , Matt and Jim did guide me and went over the edge to ensure I had an awesome experience in selecting and getting my vehicle. Very courteous and helpful in helping me select the vehicle I wanted. The only painful process I had to endure was the finance sign off phase-where I had to wait for more than 3-4 hours for 2 days to get it completed. Else it would have been a 5 star all across.... I think its waste of my time in writing review for this stupid dealer. I wish there is a Dealer Association who can close this dealer because they are not fit to do business. I would suggest Nissan company inspects their technicians are certified. I go there with one problem and they look in to different thing and claims car is now fixed and ready to go. Customer Service forget about it.

I bought my 2012 nissan rogue from Star Nissan in Niles IL in 2015. I brought my car here because it is closer to my house. Little did I know they were trying to hussle me! I called about my AWD lock not.staying on (which it wasn't supposed to) when I called the service unit I and we sat an appt for that sat this was TUES. I work mon-Fri. Went in and they wanted 230 on spot for a check out fee and 100 for my desuctable (we bought extended warranty). And which I said no (thank god!) Do they asked if I wanted the complimentary car wash I said yes without knowing I would wait.2 hours for my car with a suck child! (We thought we were dropping the car off.) When I left I was furious! So I called the dealership we bought the car from go find out the lock doesn't stay on automatically so it doesn't burn out the. Transition (that's the reason I took my car in) and the check out fee we didn't have to pay for since our car wasn't that old and it.has less then 100 000 miles on it! I am furious with this location!

I bought my car here because I thought it was a great deal.. Of course when I got there the car had over 20k more miles than advertised. It was such BS. The price was good though so I bought it not knowing the headache I would deal with afterwards... I was told by the person selling it to me that it took regular 87 octane gasoline... FALSE it is a 2.0 TFSI engine and takes a min of 91 octane. I had to fight for an extra key even though I bought it Certified Pre-Owned. The car was sold to me with terrible tire tread and I was repeatedly told that it would get taken care of.. It finally did. I think 5 months later after so much work on my end.. By the time I brought it in for the tires to get put on it the dealership's rep was so damaged in my mind that I was fearful of leaving the car alone there without being near it. I just didn't trust them. I will Never buy a car from here again! I would take my car to get serviced here either I don't want it no thank you and I don't want the coupons from the mail I now take my car to a VW dealership in Glenview and the difference in customer service is night and day. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost. I got the dealer logo and name immediately removed from my car as I wouldn't want to advertise for this place.

I bought a new 2014 soul from the Kia dealership over a year ago. Love the car an the sales consultant(William) we went through. We got a deal where we would get two years of free oil changes. It's been a year an they told me that I no longer had this option for the TWO year free oil changes. I said ok an walked to my car and left. I was recommended two filters for my car and a tire rotation. I understand what they do and how important it is. I respectfully declined since I had them already. When I put my car in the air probably five minutes after I left the dealership, the bottom of my car was coated in oil. It was messy from the plug, the filter, everything they touched was coated in oil. I shall remind you I've been here before an I have never had a problem. I am aware my car went to another technician this time, but I am very unhappy an would think twice before I take my car there again.

Certified vw on the dealer website. Confirmed the car with 3 separate sales people, including just prior to driving 1 hour to dealership. Arrive and am told car does not exist that I came to see, but have others for more money with more miles they would be happy to show me. One was possible but as price is negotiated they tack on $500 dealer fee on used car. 12 days later ghost car is still on their website fishing for new suckers. Bought a vw from Pugi in Downers Grove and dealership couldn't have been easier to deal with. Buyer be ware of Liberty Auto Plaza..

I called dealer to confirm the availability for Hyundai Sonata 2013 Vin: 5NPEB4AC1DH515498 stock # 1722. When I called, a guy told me the car is in stock, I drove 50 miles to see the car, yes I was serious buyer and I really liked that car in that price. When I reached there a guy asked me to follow him. Then he asked me for my license and enter all my info into the system. Now he asked so you are interested in Hyundai Sonata, I said yes I have scheduled test drive. He went to take keys after 20 minutes he came back and told me the car is sold before 2 days. When I was there someone from the liberty auto plaza called me and asked me about Sonata Stock 1722, I asked him if that car is still available and he told me yes that is available. I gave my phone to the sales guy who was working with me. I am not writing this to criticize anyone but this is a huge dealer and Sales people should understand their responsibilities they should keep their data up to date and confirm inventory before giving confirmation to potential customer.

Not only did they not honor the advertised price of the Kia Optima we had thoroughly discussed ahead of time, but they didn't honor any of the offers they had promised on the phone!! $21,000 out the door on a vehicle that was advertised for $16,390! When asked to explain, it turned into a shouting match and it takes a lot for me to raise my voice. They tried to confuse us with ridiculous numbers, insulting our intelligence. Two other groups of people walked out annoyed while we were there and that should have been a clue but we gave them every opportunity to work with us. Worst dealership I have ever dealt with!

This dealer was very deceptive in their internet marketing. One car was listed as having a sunroof and clearly did not and they refused to make the description accurate on their website after I pointed this out. On another car, they wanted to charge $1,000 for useless dealer add-ons for administrative fees and VIN etching that was not wanted, thus the list price for the vehicle was very untrue. Finally, their finance department does not understand that out of state sales tax is not to be collected by this IL dealer, but rather Wisconsin's registration department when the car is titled with new license plates. This dealer is a little slow on the facts and not willing to be transparent in marketing.

Not a great place. For starters their internet price is a gimmick solely intended to get you in through the door. Everyone at the dealership is incredibly slow and some are unwilling to communicate. Worst of all, they will try their hardest to fleece you. I get that this is part of their job but I would prefer if they came out and told me all the charges as they were. It took us a good 1.5 hours just to get all the charges explained. They will try to cheat you with inaccurate math (or they just can't use calculators), so come prepared with paper and pen and calculator. That said, their cars are good and I could find no one in the area who can beat their prices, even with the add-ons. They're worth a shot, but don't go expecting great service on any front.

Terrible! I made an appointment to see a Scion TC they had the night before. When I got there the next day they showed me the car, it was filthy inside and out! If you know you are showing a car would you not get it detailed first? The salesman was clueless about the car and just stood there not saying anything, not trying to sell me the car... That's your job! Gave up on him and went straight to the manager who gave a bit more info on it. Then had no problem letting me leave to check out another car at another dealership. So I went to check out the other Scion TC at the other dealership (Northbrook Toyota) and almost walked out to go back to Liberty Auto Plaza, but unlike Liberty Auto Plaza they didn't want me to leave and made me an unbeatable deal! So I bought it! I do not recommend this place to anyone! Very lazy and unprofessional!

Before I get to the negatives, I want to say that initially, this was a good transaction with very friendly staff, but I cannot leave a good review for the following reasons...1) I am from out of state and flew to Chicago to purchase this car. The initial listing for the car was misleading in both price and specifications of the car. The listing said it had both a sunroof and backup camera, which were part of the deciding factors for this car. The car had neither and upon learning this I received no apology, or attempt to rectify the situation, just that the listing was wrong and they are not sure how that happened. This was after I called to verify.2) There was a $400 "dealer prep" fee added on to the sale price for "oil change, full tank of gas, changing of fluids, and maintenance." When I got to the dealership and got the car, the tank was empty and when I asked for them to fill it they would only fill it half way. Additionally, the oil was unchanged and upon my first trip to the mechanic, I found out that none of the fluids had been changed, and my power steering fluid was dirty and transmission fluid needed topping off. 3) This is the big one: I was told the vehicle had new breaks. As it turns out, the breaks only have 30-40% life left on them, which means a new expense that I was unaware of. Overall, this was a very unsatisfactory experience and I would have a hard time recommending this dealership to anyone. And I think if anything, I deserve my $400 back for the money I have had to put into the car. It ended up being just as expensive as the car i could have gotten here in Kansas.

They advertise a 2013 Kia Optima new. Called to verify price and that it is indeed new. I was told yes on everything. Get there they try selling me a 2015 .and the 2013 has 6600 miles on it and says used.on top of that they would not even honor there price. Really poor run dealership do not waste your time. Went in to look at vehicle options because I recently Filed BK. and while many may think That a Bankruptcy seriously hinders you, The BK is not the problem at all. My first visit into this place told me not to return, however, I saw a vehicle that I really wanted on the website and sent them a text regarding pics. I received a CALL Back from a "Mike" But everyone who works here says there name is mike... any who, He called telling me about a vehicle that i was interested in 2 months prior and how he had many other suvs that weren't online yet. ANYWAY, I went in and test drove the suv, that he told me I would NEVER get, with my credit. I asked him about another vehicle and had to argue him down just too test drive it. He kept telling me how it wouldn't work with the bank an d kept feeding me BS about it requires a down payment, and then it was not eligible, then it had too many miles... Just a whole lot a bs. I finally got to drive it and i came back and said, I Want it, he told me I cant get it because ofmy credit is bad and i need 15% down and a slough of other xxxxxxxx!!!... He really wanted to FORCE Me into the first vehicle I test Drove. Of course he had his little folder all prepared when I came back from the drive. After I argued with him again about how he was feeding me xxxxxxxx, I asked for my check stubs and left. He come out the door asking me IS That a NO on the Sorento. You get the Picture. Don't deal with these ppl the way they do business is very grimy. These ppl treat you lie they are the only car dealers on earth that you can go to. They try to make you feel bad when your credit is not perfect. when in actuality there are plenty of banks willing to take a risk on you! And that is what tI had to inform this Half xxx car salesman. He failed to realize that I had just been approved and that there are other banks available.

Just when we thought customer service was almost art. Eddie, Sales and finance manager along with Erick made buying a sleek sporty vehicle a piece of cake. We are the toughest cookies to crumble and had lots of questions and specific demands of the deal. Yet instead of answering us back with nonsensical banter, they met us with tangible and competitive terms compared to our financier. No matter how we retorted there was a flexibility unseen by any dealer I've ever encountered. Putting the customer needs ahead of those of the dealer sets this dealership apart and is reminiscent of old school relationship building in business. I am now convinced that I will purchase my next vehicle here as well. I would highly recommend this dealer on the Nissan branch of Liberty Auto plaza

I had the worst possible buying experience at Liberty Auto Plaza. I would not send my dog Glory there to purchase a vehicle. I test drove a car that I really wanted. The salesman inadvertently put the wrong stock number down and the wrong car was financed. As I was unpacking my trade in getting ready to put my belongings in the car I thought I was purchasing, the finance manager came running... that is the wrong car. We put the financing on the black car. I asked.. is it the same. I was told it was the exact same car accept it didn't have a sun roof. They were all saying well with your credit take it, bring it back in a year, it is the same. I felt pressured, and rushed so made the mistake of taking the car, trusting what they were telling me. I slowly began to see that the car didn't even have some of the features that my 13 year old jeep that I traded in had, and that the car that I test drove had that they said was the same. THEY ARE LIARS! THEY CHEATED me and I was not treated fairly. I tried to take the car back. I was told to keep it because now I am underwater with the loan. In 3 weeks I have found out that the car was overpriced, I can only get the car's worth in a trade in. I am now more than 7000 underwater in a car that is Blue book priced at 12,000! What a rip off and what liars. DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. They tried to work with me by putting me in a more expensive car with a higher note. How about giving me my old Jeep back and canceling this deal. How about saying, we made a mistake, let's get you in the car that you want and we will take on the expense of canceling the deal and righting the wrong. I am sure that they have ripped off enough other people that they can pay the finance company. Last but not least, I went to try to trade the car in at another establishment, where I was told that it was only worth 12,000 after I had paid 17 and that the tires are bad with no treads. This was after they told me the tires were new! THEY ARE LIARS! DO NOT GO THERE. I am going to the better business bureau, seven on seven and anyone who will here my story including Nissan International. It is a shame that in 2015 a person can not go and purchase a vehicle without being taken advantage of. AGAIN DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!

I purchased new Soul base on 5/15 and had a great buying experience with the guys at Kia. Abe, Joseph and Anthony all took great care to ensure I was treated with respect. They were honest in their dealings and I got the best deal I could from them without any hassle. On 5/16 I brought my '13 Optima that was on a lease in to see if I could do an early turn in and get a Forte5. Needless to say the same guys got me the deal I wanted at the right payments and I even got the car I wanted from their inventory. It would help others who read these Cars.com reviews if you specify which of the 3 brands you shopped. There's Nissan, VW and Kia all under this dealer name yet all are separate buildings and each has their own staff. Libertyville Kia is great and deserves to be praised!

First of all there internet prices are more of a marketing gimmick. I was speaking to 2 customers during my process that felt the same way. Ok sales is what it is right.. so I can get past that but the Sales Manager was just plain old rude. I purchased a 2009 Nissan Altima from Liberty Nissan back in of October 31 2014. I live in Kentucky, so the drive for me would be over 6 hours straight. So I decided to make a weekend out of it, I met my mother in Indianapolis that Friday night and she drove me up there the next morning. I initially spoke with Nina Davis and went over everything with her and was approved, she assured me that all I would have to do is come in and sign my paperwork and be off with the car. Once I arrived there I saw the vehicle sitting up front. I went in and asked to speak to Gregg Sherman which is the person whom I was supposed to be finishing the paperwork part with. Instead I was given the run around for the first 10 to 15 minutes, then was greeted by Mr Sherman. He was not aware of my arrival nor the vehicle that I was applying for financing for,but instead he sat down with me and went over everything in detail and got me squared away. I then was told to go to the waiting room and I would be greeted by the finances manager Mr Jason Ryan. After a 30 minute wait or so I was greeted by Mr Ryan and he took me back to his office to finish the financing paperwork for the vehicle. He then proceeded to hand me papers and told me what they were as I singed them. After that was over I was handed the keys to the vehicle by Mr Sherman and on my way. The inside of the vehicle was flawless, very clean as I expected, but upon further inspection the door below the stereo upon pushing to unlatch it it would not swing up like it was supposed to. I notified Mr Sherman of this and he kind of brushed it off and acted like he did not know why it did that. So I told myself I would get it fixed later, I then attempted to start the car only to be surprised that the battery was dead. I went back inside and told Mr Sherman and he went and found a service associate who brought out a battery jumper so I could start it. After starting the car I drove off of the lot and started my drive back to my mother's house in Indianapolis. The next morning after getting everything packed and ready we started our journey back home to Kentucky. While driving down the interstate I could feel the car jumping as if the wheels were going to roll off of my car. It was a very unpleasant ride, that sent up a red flag instantly. I had to be back to work Monday morning so I said I would take it to a local tire shop and try to figure out what was wrong. After work I took my vehicle to Big O to let them further examine it. Upon inspection the associate told me my tires were warped and show me the huge knots in my tires. So I had them change out the tires and put new ones on, which ran me around $180. So feeling that this was the fault of the dealership for neglecting to rotate my tires like they should have been I contacted Mr Ryan about this matter. We spoke frequently on the matter and he told me contact Mr Sherman about the issue, so I did and he told me that if I could send in a copy of the receipt he would try to help me as much as possible. I agreed to that and sent in the copy like he asked to Mr Ryans email, the reason it was sent to Mr Ryans email is because Mr Sherman does not have a business email. I spoke with these two back and forth all the way to Christmas with no result. I was last told by Mr Sherman when I spoke to him on the phone that he would investigate it and call me back. After Christmas I tried contacting Mr Sherman several times by phone with no luck, so I wrote Mr Ryan an email explaining to him what was going on. He told me that he would talk to Mr Sherman and get back with me. Today is March 27 2015, and even though Mr Ryan and I have been exchanging emails this issue still has not been addressed in a serious manner. I have left Mr Sherman several voicemail with no returned phone calls. So that leaves me no choice but to notify people how this establishment conducts business with their customers. I hope someone will read this and take note and not make the same mistake I did.

NIGHTMARE IN LIBERTY AUTO PLAZA!!!!!!! BEWARE DON'T WALK AWAY, RUNNNNNNNNNNNN.......!!!!!!! Worst experience in my life and believe me I've purchased many vehicles at dealerships in my life but not any like this! I should have followed my instincts when I walked in and my wife said wow what a filthy place. after about 10 minutes the salesman Robert (don't deal with him or his used car sales manager). After a long chat he brought up the vehicle we were there to see, truck was filthy and smelled like a wet dog had been in it. We decided to drive the truck which drove good although I did notice a noise in the power steering which I brought to their attention. Robert told me don't worry we will fix it and we will give it a complete detail inside and out including the engine compartment. the exterior had some scratches and a dent on the back bumper, front drivers door needed a new hinge and the front passengers door trim pane had a dent. I brought all these issues up and Robert said" I promise I will take care of all these issues the truck will look like new". We did like the truck and were hesitant but he kept insuring us that the truck would look like new. We decided to go ahead with the deal and we had a trade in which he said they would give us what we owed on it, and pay it off, which I figured was a good deal. We finally get called in to do the paper work when I noticed the final price was $1500.00 over and when I looked they were only giving me $8000.00 and not the $9500.00. They had essentially added the $1500.00 to the sales price. I should have walked away then but after haggling again with Robert I settled for $8750.00 at this point I was so upset and tired we signed the paperwork and was given a promissory not of all the details that where to be repaired as I stayed above. I took my new vehicle home and brought it back 2 days later as I was told to do. They took two whole weeks and was told the vehicle was done after I called to complain why this was taking so long. I go to pick up the vehicle and the only thing they did to it was the door hinge and a oil change. I was now very upset as you can imagine. When I finally get to speak to Robert he said "that's all we can do, you cant expect to make this vehicle look new". He finally agreed to clean the engine compartment and give it an oil change as I complained that the oil was still black. I was told to bring it back on Monday for the oil change and when I get to the service department they tell me I don't have an appointment. Glen in the service department was very nice and said we will take care of it. I spoke to the assistant Manager about what was promised to me and that they had put it in writing and he said they would take care of it. To make a long story short I was told to bring it back again, mind you I live in Chicago that's a 40 Min drive, which I did this time it was there for a week and again I call Glen at the service Dept, they did not call me and says vehicle is ready. I pick up my vehicle and notice that the fuel gage is marking 1/4 tank, when I dropped it off I had 3/4 Tank of Gas and the vehicle had over 200 miles more than when I dropped it off. I was now sick to my stomach but I took my keys and drove away. Never again will I step foot in this Dealership and I hope you don't either. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!

I went into sticker shock when I thought I was just bringing my vehicle in for an oil change and wound up with the 30,000 mile checkup, which was needed. So it actually turned out to be a "good thing" and totally satisfied with the outcome. Experienced and efficient service techs and knowledgeable and friendly service people, right down to washing the car. Thank you for a positive experience.

Don't walk away from this place. Run. I've been there a few times in the last few weeks since they are about the biggest dealership in Libertyville, and the only Kia, Nissan, and VW dealer for quite some distance. My wifes car just got totaled, and since we weren't expecting another car payment we are on the budget side of used cars. We looked at a Ford Flex a couple of weeks ago, and there was some obvious belt squealing going on. When I told the sales guy about it he told me that they probably just had not lubricated the belts in awhile, and that his service department could put some lubricant on them for me and the noise would stop. Which, might be true.. but it doesn't really solve the issue. So, last nightwe went in and saw a Kia Sorento we liked. There was a dent in the side panel that they said they would fix. Also, I told the sales guy the brakes seemed soft, and he said he was sure they were fine, that every vehicle gets a big inspection and any issues fixed. When I get serious about buying a car, I always take it to a mechanic that doesn't have a stake in the transaction for an inspection first, paid for out of my pocket. $65 later I learn that the drivers seat is loose, there is a major oil leak from way up inside somewhere that would require a bunch of disassembly to find, a significant power steering leak... oh, and the breaks I asked about? Rusted rotors and almost non-existent brake pads. So, don't trust these guys when they tell you about all the presales work they do on cars. If you really want to do business with them, take the car to your favorite mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection (I used the Lincoln dealer next door who we have a relationship with, but use whoever you like and trust). Being out $65-100 for an inspection is a better place to be than out $15,000+ because you bought a piece of garbage from these guys.

The work is done in a timely manner & is done completely so that whatever issue caused me to bring the car in is fixed. They try to make servicing my car as convenient as possible. I highly recommend this facility!

This past Friday November 28th, 2014 I went to look at a 2008 Kia Sedona at Liberty Auto Plaza in Libertyville, IL. Sandy with internet sales called me and said the van was available and that I should come in and look at it. I was told to ask for Will on the Kia side. Once I get there and after waiting for about 20 minutes, Will finally came and introduced himself. From there he directed me to another gentleman by the name of Eric Otto. Eric took me out to see the van and test drive it. Immediately while I knew I had a few other vans to look at, I REALLY liked this one. I asked Eric at that moment would they be willing to negotiate on the price and he immediately told me NO. He then gave me a card with his cell and said if I wanted to purchase the van to call him. While I was out looking at other vans, I really didn't want this one to slip away. I had my business partner to reach out to Eric and see if they would try and do something the pricing and Eric again told him NO and I followed up for a 3rd time and the answer was still NO. I had a white female within our organization to call and she asked for a price adjustment as well-guess what? They told her YES. This is very unfortunate as I have my own financing and Im very credit worthy. I cut out probably 50% of the work they would normally do at a dealership and they absolutely refused to do a price adjustment but was more than willing to do it for the right person. All I can say is WOWWW

Just ask them to show the savings they quote as internet price in your final out of door price. See how they change their tone and behavior. Here is my experience with Liberty Nissan. I called them to confirm internet price. Over phone, they clearly said 2015 Nissan Rogue doesn't have any incentive by NISSAN at all. The discount is purely dealer discount. The price what I see in their website is the final price. The lady spoke to me specifically said ask for her when I come in. When I went there after driving 130 miles (one way), they said she is busy and I cannot see her. I had to wait for a long time to be attended by somebody else. When we started discussing the price. All the savings they mentioned in their website is added back to my total. Finally ZERO savings. When I asked about that, the sales person couldn't handle me (atleast he agreed their mistakes by saying "mistakes are common"). After a while, he asked another guy (a telephone operator who calls himself as manager) to come and talk to me. This guy was very rude and said he is the manager and his price is final. After a discussion with my wife we decided to go for the purchase (without any discount) because we made up our mind to buy a vehicle that day. After a long wait, when I asked this acting manager guy to attend us, he said he cannot sell the vehicle and told me to go and buy a car from junk yard. Ultimately they don't want to sell if you ask questions. Their internet price is just a bait. Not real savings or discount at all.

I enquired about 2014 Nissan Maxima through cars.com.They are changing the model so good discount is going on. I attracted towords their online price. Got a call back from Joel!!. I asked for the out of the door price. Suddenly price goes $1500 up saying online price doesnt include destination price and i am not good for college grad discount. Which is fine. I asked him to send me an email with price because I need to be sure on price as I will come from Iowa to Chicago. He refused to drop me an email saying I will do a price match in local dealer in Iowa. Which is also fine. After an hour or so I called him back and told him my counter offer which $2000 less what he quoted on phone last time.ahaaa!! I dont have rights to nagotiate... their prices are God's words!!! Instead of giving me some explanation on price he straigth away say dont come here to buy STAY HOME!!! which was very rude. Is this what the sales skills you have. Very rude and unprofessional.

Disappointed Potential Customer

My son called Liberty Nissan, spoke with George regarding a 2014 Nissan Sentra advertised online. George suggested he come in and discuss the car further. My son drove there within an hour of talking to him. When he arrived he asked for George and was then asked to have a seat. My son waited for over 30 minutes with no response from any sales associate or receptionist. He finally got up and went to leave. As he was leaving another customer was walking in and told my son to not buy a car at Liberty Nissan as they are horrible to work with. Taking his experience and other customer feedback he is purchasing a vehicle from another dealership. The next day (today), my son receives a call from Liberty Nissan asking for customer feedback. He told her what happened. No apology, she insisted that does not happen there. Unsure how car dealerships can stay in business when they treat potential customers this way. Buyer beware!

I purchased Nissan Rogue SV from Liberty Auto Plaza Dealer and had a great experience with them. They were very fast getting back to me with information that I needed and sent me the invoice through email before I went there to pick up the car. The communication was wonderful with them. They did exactly what they promised over the phone and held the car for me until I got there, which was a three hour drive. Their staff members were very friendly and accommodating to my wishes and willing to work with me on every aspect. Especially, the general manager, Steve, was excellent, leading the entire purchase process. I highly recommend the Liberty Auto Plaza.

Buyer Beware. Hubby and I were looking to purchase a new vehicle and found one online. Throughout the day today, my husband was texting with George Solomon about the price. They discussed budget and George said that he could come down 1500 off of the asking price. We still have the text with the price of "what he can do". We then drove for an hour to get there. I should have suspected something was up when George wasn't there but some other guy who seemed nice enough. We test drove it and then sat down (in a dimly lit, dingy, filthy area that was definitely not part of the main dealer area.) As a plus the guy was great with my 4 year old daughter and got her a puzzle. Warning bells went off when he said he had to "get my manager to talk about the numbers." Manager Robert walked up and started talking some story about how it still needs detailing, inspection and something else and can let it go for $800 off the asking price. We said no way, that's not what you quoted us and got up to leave. He seemed insulted that we wanted it for that price. He was talking about how "this is a lot of car for that amount. No way could we take $1500 off the top." Like, how dare we? Well, if that's the case then why did your guy offer that amount? When someone says, "What can you do with the price?" And you respond with an amount, shouldn't that have to be honored? Now, I understand how business works. They need to make their money. However, they should NEVER have said yes to a price, lured us all the way up to their dealership and THEN tell us "of course we can't do that price." If they couldn't do that price then George Solomon shouldn't have said "I can do $xx,xxx." They had ALL day to text or notify us that it wasn't going to fly for whatever reason they wanted to give.Robert's attitude about the whole thing seemed so flippant, rude and disrespectful. i looked him right in the eye, pointed to my 4 year old daughter and said, "You know, to bring a FAMILY this far away to purchase a vehicle in good faith and then change the price once we're already here is horrible." And he didn't care. We drove 10 minutes away and purchased the same vehicle at another dealer.

I was shopping around for my first car. I checked out Liberty Auto Plaza online and found a 2014 Nissan Altima for a very low price. I walked in to the dealership a few days later and was greeted by a salesperson named Chad and his sales Manager Brain Waggoner and General manager Steve Gjojak. I explained to them that I had seen a 2014 nissan altima online for $2000 less than some of the other dealerships in my area. They immediately had me test drive a couple models. Needless to say that I was in love considering this would be a huge upgrade from my 2000 nissan . altima. After the test drive we got to the numbers, I was surprised that they had honored their advertising price. There was no haggling on the price. We proceeded to move on to the financing, i was surprised that they were able to get me done since i didnt have barely any revolving credit. Steve Gjokaj which is the General Manager of the store was continually working with the banks to get me the best rate possible. Thanks to him and his team I was able to drive off the lot in my brand new 2014 Nissan Altima. Signing the paperwork and going over the terms with the finance department was great. Everything was explained and was finished in no time. I would definitely refer my friends and family to Steve Gjokaj for their car buying needs. They were honest and truly made this car buying experience a great one.

Challenged credit/good person

My husband and I were trying to buy a car, we are "challenged" credit. We told Mike that we had found a car in WI, that we were interested in. He stated "we've got one here, same year, $2000 cheaper and 20,000 less miles, come on in" Promised us that we wouldn't drive all the way there for nothing, he would get us in the car. Quoted interest rate, downpayment and monthly payment. Mike had also told us that he had lots of SUVs to choose from, which is what we were looking for. Needless to say when we got there, the car had already been "sold". Mike told us any lie he could to get us there and then handed us off to his right hand man. Isaac was VERY professional but told a complete different story, and protected Mike in the process. They had one SUV and it was a make we were not interested in and also a 4cylinder which we had told Mike we weren't interested in. In reading the other reviews on this site, this seems to be a definite trend, they tell you any lie to get you in the door and hope you fall for the story they tell you after. DON'T BE FOOLED AND DON'T TRUST WHAT THEY SAY. Was a horrible experience and I took the day off work to be frustrated and lied to.

I brought my car in for suggested 100,000 mile maintenance last month. In the process, a bolt was sheered off. The service manager made the service center mistake my problem by charging me for the work to repair that damage. I have purchased 2 cars from this dealership and do not intend to ever return. I bring my car to you for qualified service because I do not want to make this type of mistake. If a bolt is sheered off by a service technician, then he should slow down, apply heat and make sure the damage does not occur. That is what I expect when I pay top hour labor charges.

I agreed upon a price with the salesman, then was sent to talk with Anthony Longobardi ( Business Manager ) who charged me $ 399.00 for window etching which was already on the car. When I got home and looked at the retail installment contract and called Anthony he tried to tell me a lot of B.S. Then Anthony said, your salesman told me your interested in buying another car, if you buy another new car within the next week or so I"ll take that amount off the next purchase. I will NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP AGAIN, and am telling everyone that I talk to about what happened.

Libertyville Auto Plaza is the business name. There are various shell corporations behind it. You can not trust this place. The words of the sale contract mean NOTHING to them. I purchased a used vehicle and there were two important provisions of the contract specifically promising that certain work would be done and accessories delivered. After Libertyville Auto Plaza took my money, I spent weeks chasing them to get what I was promised. I got part of it after much aggregation, but I never did get everything. Suing them isn't an option because the amount at issue is small compared to the cost of a lawyer. And small claims court isn't an option because collecting a judgment would be hard because of the shell corporations behind Libertyville Auto Plaza. So be warned, you can't trust Libertyville Auto Plaza. If you do decide to do business with them, don't give them any money unless you leave with EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING, you are supposed to get.

This placed scammed me big time that I have even reported them to the BBB. I bought a car less than three weeks ago. I was handed this sheet explaining how the car had been looked over and how all the aspects had been covered. Supposedly, the car could not be sold if it had a problem. WOW! was that a lie or what. Right away I heard a noise coming from the front end. The car was a convertible so I didn't really think about it. I consistently heard the sound so I got it checked out. It turns out to be that the whole front end suspension needs to be replaced. I hope you guys like dealing with attorneys, because I may be bringing mine into play. To save everyone time and money, please stay away from this place. Everyone comes off very nice, but they hide lots of problems. Worst experience of my life now.

I both bought a car here and did some routine maintenance on my car here. The salesman was honest and decent and worked hard to get me a car at a price point (with a nice commission, I'm sure) that I could afford. I did not think I would be able to purchase a new car and my salesman found some discounts that dropped the price to a point that I could afford (first time car buyer, etc.). He did seem like there were certain things that he was required to say and I did receive one of those corporate surveys (the ones that will get an employee suspended for a week with no pay if you give the employee an 8 out of 10 instead of all 10 out of 10s or worse fired). I gave him a 100% excellent score and still am happy with the sales service he provided me. Now, on to what Im not happy about: the car service and repair department. Before my current car, I had an old beater car that broke down routinely every other oil change. Being a young female that has a knack for showing up to the car repair shop alone, oh boy did I have a hard time finding a place that didnt a. lie to my face or b. rip me off. Having a new car at a place that seemed to staff such honest and decent people as my salesman, I figured that I was in safe hands and that I might just finally be able to trust a car repair shop. I figured that the dealership was doing more than well and did not feel the need to act corruptly out of desperation. I wasnt actually in safe hands. The 15,000 mile marker service required an oil and filter change and a tire rotation. They originally were going to do a $300+ package that included changing the windshield wipers on a brand new car had I not asked what the price was going to be. When I got sticker shock, they said that they would only change the oil, switch the filters and do the tire rotation. That price was $40 for the oil change, $30 for the tire rotation, $75 for the cabin filter and $45 for the engine filter. Right there, a red flag shot off in my head. But, I did it anyway. I handed the nice man at the counter a coupon for $20 and he countered me saying that he had a better coupon that could drop the price a little more than the one I handed him. I said ok since it seemed like I was only going to pay $130. After my previous oil change, the person I talked to them left me under the impression that this oil change was only going to cost $100. I shouldnt have done it, I should not have handed my car over to them. They did a whole bunch of additional work that I did not ask for that included several multi point inspections. The total labor cost for all of this was nearly $100. Parts were more than $80. I did receive my $20 discount. I cannot afford to keep going to this place. I cannot afford what I currently have to pay. I will be lucky if I pay that off by my next oil change. I will be calling to complain and I since I live half an hour away, I will start getting my car maintenance done at local shops rather than be loyal to a place that is just going to rip me off as often as possible. My real problem is that I let a car shop take the rains. There are no prices listed on the wall behind the front desk workers. For all I know, he was 100% just making it up to gage my reaction. So really, the responsibility lies with me. I should have known.

My initial agreement with the front desk guy was that they would change the filters (cabin, oil and engine), do an oil change and rotate the tires only. They did a whole bunch of additional work that I did not ask for that included several multi point inspections. The total labor cost for all of this was nearly $100. Parts were more than $80. I did receive my $20 discount. I did not receive the discount he promised. I cannot afford to keep going to this place. I cannot afford what I currently have to pay. I will be lucky if I pay that off by my next oil change. My real problem is that I let a car shop take the reins. There are no prices listed on the wall behind the front desk workers, because of that, I have no way of cross-checking their honesty in regards to their prices for the services they offer. They were not upfront with me nor were they clear and honest with me about what maintenance they were actually going to do - which they should have been for a $300 price tag. I assumed that the 15,000 mile check up meant something very, very different than what it clearly actually is. For all I know, he was 100% just making up the prices of the different maintenance repairs to gage my reaction. So really, the responsibility lies with me. I should have known. I should have taken my car, ran away and price shopped like I do for absolutely everything else. I will be calling to complain and I since I live half an hour away, I will start getting my car maintenance done at local shops closer to where I live rather than be loyal to a place that is just going to rip me off as often as possible. Besides, $40 is a little expensive for a basic oil change anyway, even if a repair shop is actually trustworthy and worth my time.

I purchased a car from the Kia section of their dealerships. I bought a brand new 2013 Kia Soul ! from Chad. He helped me right away and test drove another ! as I did not the black one they had. They found the exact car I wanted after trying several dealerships and got it from a dealership in MI. in 3 days my new Alien was at the showroom. Chad even washed it himself as they were extremely busy on that saturday. the negotiation took about 5 minutes as I knew what I wanted to pay. When delivered to me-the car was in perfect shape and went over everything w/Chad and off my son and I drove w/our new Alien. Very happy. Thanks

Kostya lied to me, claiming to have in stock a car I was looking for. I was skeptical as to whether this was true because he kept switching sales tactics. Upon confrontation, he still did not come clean and claimed that the only way I could find what I was looking for was to come into the dealership. That may be true--but lies are not an acceptable way of doing business.

Andrew Richter was an outstanding sales person for me and my purchase of my new Optima. He was very honest, knowledgeable and followed-through with all of his promises. I would highly recommend him for anyone interested in a new KIA within 50 miles of their store in Libertyville.Their general manager (Mike?) and finance manager (Jay) were also fantastic guys to deal with. My experience couldn't have been more pleasant. Their price was untouchable by their competitors. They are motivated to be the number one Kia dealership in Illinois. What a great experience in the purchase of a new car! You won't regret your time spent with this store and personnel.

Excellent experience! Great deal on the Kia Rio we purchased and great service. I worked with Michael Mcconnell, he was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. I felt that he was meticulous in explaining the service provided by the dealership and the benefits I would receive with my new Volkswagon. He made sure that I had all the information and I know I got the best deal from a superior dealership. His skills in customer service were superb. Michael listening to me and answered all of my questions to the fullest extent. I feel that I can call him at any time and he will take care of me. I would highly recommend working with Michael Mcconnell and look forward to continuing our business relationship in the future.

We have purchased many cars during the years. And we've always had a bit of an aversion to most car dealerships and their sales people. After our experience with Liberty Auto Plaza, I can say my experience was great, maybe even fantastic. We needed a car quickly. Micheal McConnell took care of us right from the start. We had talked to him on the phone and he felt he could really help us get the car we needed at the best price. He made it all happen, getting us connected to the right people at the dealership who got us the very best deal. There is a real professionalism to Micheal. He listened first, was genuine in wanting to help solve our needs, and, after taking it all in, he executed everything with precision and focus. We could not be happier with the result: a great, new car at what I think was a really good price (taking advantage of all the incentives that were available and more). We feel fortunate to have worked with Micheal McConnell and Liberty Auto Plaza to purchase my new car.

First let me just start off by saying "I hate buying a car". Not that I don't love a new car, but I hate the whole car buying process. Pushy sales people, with even pushier general managers and a credit department that wont let you leave until they have the shirt off your back. It's usually a long day that leaves me with a bad headache, an empty wallet and a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I don't get to enjoy my new car for days until I get over the experience of buying it.Amy Lewis made my recent purchase at Liberty Auto Plaza a great one. I got a very competitive price making it worth the hour drive to get there. Everything was done ahead of time through email and a couple of phone calls. There was no high pressure sales tactics to force me to buy any more than what I wanted. Everyone I met the day I picked up the car was top notch. Rob Johnson got us going on our paperwork as soon as we got there and then kept us entertained while we waited for the credit manager. The credit manager broke everything down and gave us several options. He offered us several extended warranty options, but I did not feel forced to purchase anything that I didn't want.Overall this was a great experience and I would come back the next time I was in the market for a car. My only regret is that they aren't closer so I can bring my car in for scheduled maintenance.

Purchased a 2013 Passat TDI from Liberty. Got great pricing via the internet, immediate follow-up from Amy who answered all my questions. They had the car I wanted, the deal matched what they quoted, and the transaction when I came to pick up the car was hassle-free. They had the car ready to go (including the WI paperwork), and did not press too hard on selling the "rust coating" or the extended warranty. (Would be nice if dealers would dispense with that nonesense altogether, but they all do it and at least the folks at Liberty don't try to twist your arm over it.)Very happy with the transaction, and worth the drive from WI!

I had a great experience at this dealership after not having much luck at another Volkswagen dealership. Yoshi was really great and really did what he could to get my payments to a price I was comfortable with. I really had my heart set on the Volkswagen Golf Turbo Diesel and rather than try to talk me in to a lower model or different Volkswagen model all together, he got me the car that I wanted at a price that the other dealership was in no way prepared to come close to on a brand new VW.I also enjoyed the Finance Manager, I could have that title wrong, and I can't remember his name...Kurt? I'm just getting around to writing this review as I've had my car for a few months now. Anyway, he was great and very up front and honest. I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of. I love my car and I will certainly recommend this dealership as well as Volkswagen. Thanks Libertyville Auto Plaza!

Went to the dealership without knowing much about the Kia Optima except that I really liked the way it looked. My salesman, Will was very knowledgeable about the car and the other car I was considering, the Nissan Altima. He went over the differences, including the areas that the Altima was actually better in, which I appreciated. He didn't pressure me to buy at all. I came back after lunch armed with all of the usual internet based information and worked with Will and the Sales Manager, Matt to find a happy medium. I was able to get everything done that night and drove the car home. I'd definitely recommend the dealership and Will to anyone.

Everyone - EVERYONE - from Michelle & Amy from the web to Andrew & Jason. Most importantly, Steve Dember. I felt relaxed & at ease the entire time. I'm very choosy & I had my mind set. Steve was very patient & not the least pushy. He knew what he was talking about & helped us make our choice. Though it wasn't he car I originally came in for, I am so happy with what I drove out with. I am getting alot of compliments on my Titanium Sorrento & I love. My sister and I went to this dealership to look at a specific used car on the lot. We arrived and Dan took about 10 minutes to greet us. First thing he said was if we wanted to test drive the car and did not even bother to introduce himself. After the test drive Dan asked to throw out a price and I said 13.5K on a 15K. He countered with permission from Tom and we were offered 13K. I asked if this price would be available all day and he said yes. Dan said,"no pressure sales here the only pressure is in our tires". Fine so we left and mulled it over by looking at a few other cars and called back asked if the same price was on the table for 13K. Dan said yes. So we drove back to Libertyville and filled out the credit application and was asked to put at least $500 down which we were going to do. Dan came back to us and said we can't do 13K anymore but we can match the 13.5K that you offered earlier, according to Dan, Tom was the one who retracted on the offer he gave to us. If they just matched us at 13.5K from the start we would not have a problem. We ended up walking out b/c they started giving us really poor service and did not care for our business. Their quality of service is next to 0 and do not appreciate that we had to drive back there a 3rd time b/c they for forgot to give back my sisters ID. (granted this is our fault as well). When we went back to the dealership to pick up the ID they tried to sell the car to us again for 13.5K and we said no. The worst part was that they called my sister back the next day to say that they sold it for advertised price. Poor customer service and to call and say they sold it for more is very unprofessional. The place was really cold, the coffee was gross and the only thing nice their was the GT-R, which they sell 25K over list. I would not recommend going here unless you wanted to throw your money away.

I found that Amy Lewis was easy to work with and would go that extra mile, that the rest of the dearships did not do. She was willing to take the time with all my many questions and concerns. I never felt any pressure to buy. She also went out of her way to find the car with the options that I wanted. And was very knowlegeable about the car. I felt she was honest and really was trying to meet my needs and make it a great experience for buying a new car. All the employees like Leo,PJ and Frank were friendly and helpful. And I would send my family and friends to buy a car there.

My visit to Liberty Auto Plaza, as well as the meeting with Amy and Fred were nothing short of a pleasure. I loved the hassle-free environment, as I was even allowed to roam the lot without being pounced on while getting out of my vehicle. This was a refreshing change, and I must say that I will definitely be visiting again within the near future. I must say though, when I walked towards the doors of the dealership for assistance, Fred was waiting to hold the door open and was willing to answer any question that I had. Some readers may not view this in a positive light, but for me, it was perfect.Moving on, I made it clear to Fred during our visit that I was not ready to make a move today. Most dealerships and salesmen would kick you to the curb at that moment, as they are wasting time and losing a possible commission in the process. However, I think Fred did something great here because he built the relationship with the customer. He sat down with me and discussed all of my options to the fullest detail. While I am not ready to make a purchase at this exact moment, due to the experiences at Liberty Auto, I will be returning to once the time is right. I did not feel pressured to make a move at the exact moment, as other local dealerships (Raymond Kia in Antioch) have made me feel. Customer service is something that I value, and I will only buy a vehicle from a dealer that I feel comfortable with. I found a winner in Liberty Auto, that's for sure.

George told he would make an appointment so someone can pick me from home to drive me to dealership. Well never called me back. I called him the following day to ask well, when is my appointment . He asked me can you take a taxi, can you get a friend to give you a ride. I thought omg if he lied to me about the ride to dealership, what else did he lie about. He probably didn't have a loan for me either. George was unprofessional and hung up on when I told I don't have a way to get out the dealership. Horrible. I was contacted by Michael McConnell a Sales Consultant with Liberty Auto Plaza located at 920 S Milwaukee Ave, Libertyville, IL on Friday September 7th. 2012 because my wife and I were looking to trade our 2007 Nissan Altima for a cross over vehicle. We had already completed the credit application online and it was just a matter of us bringing in our car to get appraised. When I made it to the dealership on Saturday afternoon, I was being assisted by James a salesman. James was having difficulty locating us in the system and tried to for over 10 minutes. In my mind if your having trouble accessing your customers information, please ask for assistance but he failed to do so. So immediately I became frustrated and chose to leave the dealership. I did at least call Michael just to explain what happened and why I was leaving. Roughly 10 minutes later, I get a call from a gentleman who stated he was the Sales Manager. I explained to him what happen as well. He then tells me and I quote THE SALES PERSON WAS DOING HIS JOB! SHOULD WE CHANGE OUR POLICY FOR ONE CUSTOMER WHO HAS A COMPLAINT!. I drove right back to the dealership to discuss the matter with him face to face., While expressing my frustration to him, a gentleman with dark hair and a mustache wanted to interrupt me and give his thoughts. I advised him to allow me to finish. He then tells a CUSTOMER, YOU CAN LEAVE!!! Now keep in mind, the Manager that I came their to talk with did apologize but this guy once again told a CUSTOMER who was coming to buy a car, that they can leave. So myself along with a check for $10,000.00 and the car that we were gong to trade left. Michael McConnell was very nice but these other guys were exrtremely rude. I will stop at nothing to make sure that everyone whom I come into contact knows that Liberty Auto Plaza employs rude people who have no respect for customers. So far, I have told about 50 people about this experience and will continue to spread the word.

Salesman was ok, they said they had their crack team go over every used car with a fine tooth comb to make sure the car is safe and road worthy. Has we were ready to leave noticed the head light was out so I had to come back the next day for them to fix it. It had a bunch of corroision on the battery and comes to find out it was shot as was the alternator. It also was leaking power steering fluid. When I went in to tell them about it the salesman to me to the sales manager who was outside smoking and told him the problem. He told me you got a great price on the car so they wouldn't fix it. I was pissed and complained about how customer satifacation didn't mean squat to them they finally agreed to fix the pwr. steering leak but I had to replace the battery and alt. I since after numerous problems have gotten rid of the vehicle and have been trying for three days to get a hold of the finance guy and he still hasn't called me back. So stay clear of this place.

The minute I walked in to Liberty, I was greeted with a smile and "How can I help you?" Everyone there treated me with patience, kindness, and the best customer service I've ever encountered at a car dealer. 1st, notice that there is NO last name given above. THAT IS WHAT THE NAME IS WRITTEN AS ON HIS BUISNESS CARD WE "FORCED HIM" TO one to GIVE US. 2nd the 1st day we were there they had our family held "captive" for over 5 hours. (5 kids in tow!) Out of that it probably took 1/2 hour to pick a car! Then we took the car and came back the next day after we called. He stated " See you later." We get to the dealership to find out the finance guy and Robert were out! Having lunch! We just drove over an hour to get there!! And I work nightshift and he knew that the day before. 3rd the theives cashed my down payment check BEFORE the deal was #1 Finalized 2 approved by us!! Proves they are only out for $$$$$$$$$ Do not use them, besides now the car has Numerious problems, Very slimmy dealership!! My own experience with this company, I can only say about Amy Lewis. She is really good very professional, friendly and MOST IMPORTANT THING IS don't play the usual pricing game. Back and worth spending your whole day, asking you how much you want to pay for the car, but for a fact that he knows he is not going to say yes for any price that you say. So he is playing the pricing game. If you think about normal "car sale man". that's not who she is. I will only recommend Amy Lewis, no one else in that company, because that's who helped me.

We found a great deal on a 2008 Toyota Sienna and made arrangements over the phone to come pick it up from over two hours away. Therese was very helpful and quick to work with over the phone so we were prepared as could be to make a decision on the vehicle when we arrived. It was late in evening when we arrived but everyone was friendly and the vehicle was ready to be test driven. There was a bit of confusion with the paperwork (some of which we filled out online before coming) but that was understandable since we had to work with other sales personnel than Therese, but for the most part all the paperwork went smoothly. The vehicle was everything that was represented online except for one thing, it was a smoker's car. That caught us by surprise. The car was such a good deal that we felt we could deal with that. Also, the car battery was pretty weak so we replaced that as well, even though it tested as an "ok" battery (we had it tested later on). Other than those two items, the van was everything and more than what we wanted. We would work with them again and appreciated the amazing deal on our new minivan.

My deal was handled primarily via email which was about the only way I had time to purchase a new car at this point. From my first contact with Amy to Therese stepping in to help then Dwight helping with the rebates, Mike actually picking up my Kia and dealing with the paperwork and then Jason taking me through the final steps I could not have been happier!! Everyone was very friendly, helpful and completely knowledgeable. I have to say I traveled about two hours to get to Libertyville (via trains) and Amy picked me up at the station, which was above and beyond. Despite the distance I will use Liberty Auto for service as often as I can; although I don't expect to need anything major for many years to come. I would highly recommend Liberty to anyone looking for a new or used car in the Chicagoland area (or anywhere for that matter).

I highly recommend Liberty Auto. They were professional, straight forward, honest and friendly, working with me to get the Altima I wanted. Purchasing an auto is very complex these days, and Frank did all the work for me, returned my phone calls, and never got exasperated!! Also in these economic times financing can be tricky, Jeff and Brad worked hard to get me financing.

I bought a GTI here and have used this place for oil changes and such, but I went today with a friend to test drive a Tiguan and the dealer was a complete jerk. He was unfriendly, the SUV we drove had no gas in it and I was afraid we would run out, and he said nothing to us at all. Afterwards he does not shake our hands nor does he give me a card. Good thing he didn't because I would have called the manager. They have lost my family and my friend's business for good. Terrible service here. It was appalling.

Scheduled an appointment 3 weeks ago to have two recall items looked at and an oil change. I had come in too late and could not receive service. I said ok and rescheduled to the following Saturday (4/28). Came in on the 28th, was told there was no appointment, recall work could not be done, and they would not do an oil-change on the car since it was before the listed service date. We stated that we would pay for the oil-change and still did not get it done. Attempted to reschedule again to this Saturday (5/5), and they are booked. Since their techs leave by 1:30pm on Saturdays and by 4pm on weekdays, there's no feasible time to get an appointment till next Saturday. Since 5/5 is full, I am scheduled on the 12th of May. He stated they had openings all day, but I could only schedule at 11:00 am (doesn't sound like opening all day). So I guess we'll see how the 12th goes. If they can manage to keep our appointment, and not turn us away at the door for some reason or another, I'll be surprised. Or I could just find another dealership to service my car at..

My son had a car accident and we needed to replace his Jetta Sportwagen. We really wanted to save the car, but we were working with the insurance company and it was seeming that we were going to have to purchase. We worked with Amy G and Tom S and both were very sincere and accomodating. Amy followed up with us and stayed in close contact. Turns out that we went to our friends body shop and they were able to salvage our car. However, everyone did an excellent job, and when it is time to make a purchase, it will definetley be here.Arkin

There is no way that this place could be getting good reviews unless they are having their own employees write them. I bought a car here and have had it a few months and have had thousands of dollars worth of problems with it. The worst part is when you tell them about it they laugh in your face and tell you it is your problem not theirs. All should know their are consumer protection laws in this state that protect you for operations like this. They need to represent to current conditon of a used car. I was told is was in great working order. It was not. Do not deal with these people they are liars and thieves

This was, by far, the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. After agreeing on a price they calculated the out the door price including taxes, documentation fees and title. They were of by about $700 dollars. (In their favor) Good thing my math skills are decent. They went and re-calculated the total and came back about $100 to much. They finally got it right on the third try. I asked for a warranty in case something was seriously wrong with the vehicle. They verbally told me they would stand behind the car and not to worry about it. I wanted something in writing and they finally gave me a 30 warranty. I got the car home and found out that the air conditioning did not work and I had oil spots on my driveway. I called them about this problem and they said they would call me back and they never did. The next day I called them back about the problems and I had the same response. I called again and they told me they would re-charge the air conditioner but the oil leak was caused by a leak in the drive axle seal and that they would not fix that even though they had given me a warranty. They said it was not a serious problem. I could not believe it. This problem is causing my car to leak transmission fluid on my driveway. I think that a transmission fluid leak is considered to be a serious problem. I argued about it and they said that the will not fix this problem. I had other issues with the car like dry rotted tires that need to be replaced (1 has a nail in it) and a grill that was held on with wire ties but I did not complain about these things. They claim that they do an inspection on their cars before they sell them and they would not sell a faulty car. Don't believe it. There is no way that they would not have seen this leak. I am disgusted with this dealership! They claim to be a well-respected dealership but I think that was happened to me was horrible and I will never go back. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone!!! Stay away from these rip off artists!

I bought my 03 Cavalier from Liberty Auto Plaza. After searching Craigs List and Auto Trader, I was surprised to see how competitive a dealership could be price wise compared to private party sellers. Not to mention they inspected it and provided the carfax. I have had my car for 3 months now and it has not given me a single problem (I put about 2k miles a month on vehicles) I am very pleased with Liberty and plan to purchase all of my vehicles for them.

Arrived for an oil change and it took twenty minutes for someone to help me. And I had to ask for help. Once I arrived back home I noticed oil on my garage floor. The oil level was correct and the cap and filter were tight,so I cleaned off the bottom of the engine and the cars fram that had fresh oil all over it. The oil continued to drop from my car for two days. it appears the service techincian spilled oil all over the top of the engine and it was dripping down from the engine. I will find another dealer to have serice done to my vehicle whenever it is needed. Such sloppy work I had to pay for.

I came to Liberty Auto Plaza looking to purchase a used car, and worked with Dan O'Brien from the very beginning of my car search. Because this was my first car buying experience, I was nervous I would be taken advantage of in regards to charges. Dan guided me through each step of the car buying experience, offered honest advice, great customer service and follow up, attention to detail, and was the sole reason for earning my business for Liberty Auto Plaza. He made sure I found a car within my needs, wants and budget. I am more than happy with my purchase of a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe from Liberty Auto Plaza, and I look forward to working with them again in the future!!

As a AAA member, I contacted this dealer since I was interested in a Nissan Altima. AAA allows you to perfectly configure a car you want and get a "members" price which is typically below invoice. Caleb checked inventory and confirmed that they would honor the AAA price, with a comparably equipped car. Although I did not end up buying from Liberty (we live 4 hours from Chicago), I would have made the trip if the price differential between my local dealer and Liberty had been greater, and if I did not find the exact car locally. In this case, I did have the perfect car locally, and bought it even though I paid more. I would seriously consider them next time, since I was treated very well and Liberty really wanted my business.

I am not sure how this dealership got such a good review. But my personal experience with this dealership was really bad. I was communicating with Daniel OBrien and clearly communicated with him regarding my expectation. I wanted a 2011 Nissan Murano SL AWD. I was told that they have several vehicles of same specification and when i went there Daniel wasn't there and they told me that they dont have that car in stock. I drove all the way from Des Moines to Chicago (approx. 6Hrs) for this :( really... It was so disappointing and frustrating :( Worst part is their website is also shows that they have still have that car in stock. Also they were not even ready to talk/convince about other alternatives :(

Ever since I have had my car serviced at Liberty and the service managers Mike and Bill always have me coming back to get everything I need done there. They are professional and very friendly. They seem to know everyone by name when they walk through the door and everyone knows them by name. This tells me one thing, their service is so outstanding that people keep coming back and often for whatever concerns or work they need done on their vehicle. Great, no hassle buying experience! I viewed the vehicle online, and it had a very competitive price. I was skeptical that the price was too good to be true, but found out that Liberty was true to their word once visiting the showroom. Thom goes out of his way to ensure the customer is taken care of.I think the sales pitches from the accessories and warranty bubbas distract from all the hard work, effort, and relationship building that the Car Salespersons bring to the customer experience. Liberty would be better off by having displays available wherein the customer can ask their Salesperson about the add on product or service.

I'll preface this by saying that I had agreed upon a price for the vehicle, with all fees and taxes included, prior to walking in there. After test driving two different 2007 Nissan Sentras, I had made my decision on the car I wanted. Throughout this part of the process, Eddie in sales was very nice (of course).Naturally, any and all agreements leading up to the purchase of the car didn't matter to the Liberty Auto Plaza people, as they were still trying to drive up the price beyond what I was willing to pay. After settling on a price (keep in mind we're talking totals here, not sticker), Eddie tries to sneak in a $750.00 "mist" service that was essentially a car wash and an air freshener. Naturally, I flipped out and demanded my keys back (stupid me, I gave him my keys for my trade in), until he gave in and no longer tried to charge me for washing the car. However, he did make a last-ditch effort at tacking this cost on by sending in a voluptuous (in other words, top heavy), Liberty Auto employee to talk to me about it to see if she could convince me otherwise. I'm not a testosterone-laden teenager, so I did not relent. When we finally make it to the finance portion, Eddie tells me to wait outside of the finance office while he talks to Tony the finance guys privately. This takes about a half hour to 45 minutes. I can't think of a better way to build distrust with your customer than to have a private conversation about your customer's money with him there. When it finally comes time to sign the financial docs, I'm being hurried along by Tony the finance guys, though I meticulously evaluate every line item. I see a $2000.00 charge for an additional warranty I had not agreed upon (there was about a 1500 dollar warranty / certification attached to the vehicle I had agreed upon). Once again, I flip out, and am proud to say I made Tony sweat through his white shirt. The charge was eventually removed and I walk out with a good (not great) deal on my car. This in addition to getting low balled on the Volvo I traded in.Finally looking forward to getting out of there, I wind up waiting an hour to drive my car off the lot. The keys were on Eddie's desk, but he was out with another client. I asked several other salesmen to help me, but NOT ONE WOULD GET OFF HIS CHAIR TO GRAB KEYS FROM EDDIE'S DESK FOR ME. NOT ONE! An hour...to get keys...The icing on the cake was the fact that I left my IPass (toll road pass) in my used car when I traded it in. It took Eddie a week to ship it to me even though he found it and had it on his desk the day after I left. The experience lasted about 8 hours. I'm satisfied with my vehicle and satisfied with what I paid for it, but I worked way too hard to get it to that point and would never, ever, set foot in this dealership again.

I bought my Routan from this dealership and have been in 5 times for service since I've had it. I haven't had a positive experience yet. Closing the sale of my vehicle took more than 3 hours with no communication from anyone why it was taking so long. During this process you will be confronted by someone from service with the worst opening line in the history of sales trying to get you to overpay for paint protection The dealership offers an online booking option for service appointments. No one at the dealership even reads these and they will have no idea why your car is in for service, nor will they fix what you asked them to fix. No one in the service department communicates with each other. One will tell you they will loan you a car but when you get there they won't be ready for you and they won't have a car for you. If the service department tries to contact you they won't call when they said they would call you or even at the number you provided them. Then heaven forbid you try to call them back and the person you talk to has no idea why you are calling, they can't help you and you wait for I guess the one person there that has a clue to call you back. Oh, and that is after you call and get the operator who will transfer you to the wrong department three times before you get through. For as many VW dealerships as there are in the Chicagoland area, this dealership should be making a better effort to try and satisfy their customers. You have a choice and your choice should be to go somewhere else. This is my 5th VW and I won't be back to this dealership unless I have to come back. After your visit they beg you to give them good reviews on their surveys but they have nothing to deserve any good grades.

I bought 4 cars in the last 9 years from this dealership. I have owned VW's since 1968 both in this country and when I was overseas in Scotland in the service.Through all the cars I have owned and had serviced, I find that Liberty Auto Plaza, hands down, are the best I have come across. Starting with going into the Sales area, you can see the knowledge of the sales staff, in particular, Tom Sullivan, whom sold us our most recent purchase, a Tiguan, that he was trained right in answering all the specific questions that I asked him about the car. He knew his stuff.I would recommend anybody that is in the area to stop by and see the great deals they offer and will work with you to get the car you want.Mike and Bill in the service dept are the most professional service personnel I have come across in all my years. I have had my W8 wagon serviced by Liberty for over 8 years. I have continued to have my car serviced there even after the warranty expired because they are always friendly, courteous, and considerate of my time. They ask me when is convenient for me rather than telling me when they might be able to fit me in. If they tell me that they will call me, they do. The car is ready when they say it will be. I had spoken with 5 dealerships, all of them claimed that car could not be found or ordered. Jeff from Liberty Nissan had it driven in from downstate and had it waiting for me, washed and ready to go, right here in town. It was close to a miracle that it was also priced as if it came right off his lot. I am still grateful for that level of service.

I have never been so emotionally attached to a service center in all my life. When I call to schedule a service, all I have to do is mention my first name, and Bill/Mike recall the car specifics. (It took me much longer to distinguish the difference between their voices.) As busy as the center always is, it is a rare occasion when my call is not personally answered by those two guys behind the counter. Once there, all business is prompt, clean and crisp, with every courtesy thought out, offered, and delivered with such sincerity you would think everyone actually believes the whole "happy customer" philosophy. They are eager to specifically explain what is happening in your car (I even saw them bring out a car part when they were talking with another customer), and are very respectful when providing options. I get the shuttle service frequently (for my work in Lincolnshire), but on days I work remotely, I like to hang out in the waiting area. It's nearby the receiving desk, so you get to feel a part of the hustle and bustle (unless you want to pay attention to the TV or play room (read: quiet work phone area). You realize that they don't just interact with you good-naturedly as a front, but conduct all their business with associates the same way. I once dropped my car off for a service; I had broken some obscure part of it, and they promptly offered me a shiny Toureg "rental" (except I didn't actually have to pay for it) since they had to keep it overnight. They didn't even mind when I preferred to keep it over the weekend rather than rush back on the Friday. Did I mention the shuttle guys are great? They're guys off the shop floor that will talk about their day (if you are as talkative as I apparently am) and respect your quiet on your more reflective days. They also demonstrate a healthy dose of the same good-natured consideration. Absolutely favorite service center ever. I moved south to Villa Park over a year ago, am slowly learning the local service centers, and I only snuck north once (or twice) to squeeze in one last service(s). After four and a half years of blissful service, it's a tough act to follow. Amazing service. Amazing.

We had an emergency breakdown away from home; Liberty took care of it where our dealer couldn't/wouldn't/didn't - replaced the engine- no charge since VW picked up the tab. We had struggled along with a sludge problem for years. VW finally took responsibility since this was a common problem for the '01 Passat (and other years I understand). Our local dealer was protecting VW, I guess; Liberty did us better.

All of whom found a "problem" but within 24 hours the check engine light was back on and the engine was bogging down again. I called Liberty Auto Plaza and they got me in the same day. They shuttled me to and from their location and found and fixed the actual problem in less than two hours. It's been months and I haven't had a problem since. The service was outstanding. And the employees I worked with we're helpful and informative and never made me feel like I was just a girl who clearly knew nothing about the way the engine worked. I purchased a vehicle from liberty auto plaza in 2008. At that time, the economy wasn't in good shape but I bought a Nissan frontier anyways. Looking back I wouldn't have changed a thing. I love my truck. The purchase process was fast and efficient. I got a better deal on my truck than I would have ever figured I could get. The salesman and financial manager were easy to work with and very friendly. I'm a Nissan fan for life and will mostly likely only purchase from liberty auto plaza in the future.

I went here for a standard 3000 mile maintenance for my Nissan 350z. I had a single instruction for them. "Don't touch my wipers". I use Rainex Latitudes, and was in fact going to purchase a rear wiper at Target while I waited (my wife had her car there for this purpose).I got back and guess what? They replaced my rear wiper with a crap dealer wiper and charged me for it.I took the wiper off and threw it away and put on my Rainex Latitude. How could this be a mistake? It said clearly on the invoice what my instructions were. I verbally told the person taking receipt of my car my instructions. When I brought this up with the cashier, she was rude beyond belief. The maintenance staff had already went home for the day. After I complained, the maintenance supervisor called and snarled a message demanding I call him on my voice mail. It's not about the cost, I couldn't care less about a $15 wiper. It's about the way they choose to do business. I will never be back, and they can keep their $15.And it's a hell of a way to do business in a recession. The dealerships do nothing but whine, and yet this is how they treat people. To further enforce that I am but a number to them, they sent me a mass emailing asking me to come to this site and report a positive experience about them. Is solitication of this kind even allowed by DealerRater? So congratulations, here it is. Completely clueless....

I was referred to Liberty by my Credit Union and was able to work out a very fair deal with Brad over the phone and through a few emails. It was easy process and Brad was great to work with. We drove away from the dealership with the exact car we wanted at the price we agreed to. It was very refreshing and we had a great buying experience.

My wife and I bought a used 2010 Nissan Rogue. She was 40 weeks pregant at the time, so we didn't spend a lot of time inspecting every nook and cranny of the car. When we arrived home, we found an empty Moutain Dew bottle, receipts for Dunkin Donuts, and other random scraps of paper. The floor boards were also not clean.I called and left a voicemail with the sales manager and never received a call back. After 3 days, I reached the GM of the dealership and after explaining what happened above, he set up an appointment for the Rogue to be detailed at no charge and provided a loaner car.Overall, I would recommend this dealership due to its customer service. I previously purchased an Altima from the same dealership in 2009.

First, it's important to mention that I purchased a new Kia from this dealership in late 2002, and at THAT time had an overall good experience. Warranted service was acceptable, though not without a few hiccups through the years. However, my last (empahasis on LAST) experience at this dealership made an indelible impression resulting in my decision to never deal with them again. To make a long story as short as possible, I discovered that neither the dealership nor the company will make a good faith effort to honor a warranty claim they can get out of by simply denying what any reasonable person would call "common sense." They did this by denying warranty coverage for an engine problem that over a two week period (that the vehicle was at the dealership) went from telling me it would be a straightforward R/R (Remove and Replace) to insisting that I should spend $500 (above the $115 or so I was already committed to just to drop off the vehicle) to tear down and inspect the engine to see if the problem was covered. Nevermind that they had already indicated that their mechanic had stated it was an "internal problem" covered by the warranty. So what was the sticking point? Regular maintenance (or oil changes, to be specific).I do a lot of my own basic service on my vehicles, and although I provided them with receipts going back more than two years (the length of time the dealership told me to provide) to show oil and filter purchases, they claimed that I couldn't prove the products had been used on my Kia! Never mind that my other vehicle is a Ford diesel truck that doesn't use the same type of oil! Why else would I buy oil (Mobil One synthetic, btw) and filters (over many years) for my Kia that could not be used in any other vehicle I owned? According to the dealership, unless I could show them receipts from an actual service center (with odometer readings and dates) they would not honor the warranty. A logbook and my purchase receipts would not be enough... Ridiculous! Now, I will admit that I didn't have as much documentation with me as I would have liked, but the idea that a thorough do-it-yourselfer with complete receipts and history could be so easily rejected is, in my opinion, a dismal failure on the part of both the dealership and the car company to provide honest, good, customer service. The dealer could have saved me two weeks of being jerked around simply by telling me from the get-go that there was no way my warranty claim would be approved. Instead, they played "reindeer games" that resulted in more bad feelings generated than would otherwise have been the case. They lost more than one customer as a result, because I will tell everyone I know why they should avoid Libery Auto Plaza, and be wary of Kia when it comes to warranty issues. For comparison, I had some serious issues with my Ford diesel that resulted in the truck being at the dealership for almost six months. Sounds bad until you find out that the Ford dealership bent over backward to accomodate me with loaner cars and service credits (Ford, not the dealership) even refunded me a very significant dollar amount for "lost use of my vehicle!" That truck is now running beautifully and I will happily purchase another Ford vehicle from THAT dealership when the time comes. Customer service and an honest effort to solve any problems that arise is key to repeat business. Libery Auto Plaza (and Kia) doesn't seem to understand that. One last thing ... I want to thank Liberty Auto Plaza for contacting me and asking me to provide a good review here. Thanks to their efforts to "pad" this website with positive reviews I am able to tell you why you should avoid walking through their doors. You would think that the dealership would have the common sense to make sure they don't ask their unsatisfied customers for help, but then they didn't use common sense in handling my warranty claim so why should they use any intelligence now?

I purchased my new Nissan Altima in 2008 from Gary and the buying experience as well as the subsequent service visits could not have been any better. I chose to buy my vehicle from Gary, because both of my parents got theirs from Gary and after I bought mine, my brother also bought a car from him. We are a Nissan family, I swear, we should be in a Liberty Auto Plaza commercial...Each time I stopped in the dealership for any kind of service, they wash my car (which other dealerships don't do) and when I ask nicely, they even vacuum inside. communication prior to and after an appointment is stellar. They send email reminders before and satisfaction surveys after. I must say, their service department is certainly going above and beyond to make their customers feel comfortable and I never feel like they are suggesting a repair that is not needed. Nothing but compliments.

Overall this was a fairly pleasant experience. I live in Chicago and needed something that is good on gas for my commute but wanted something slightly luxury as well. I searched online for a Volkswagen Passat and found that Liberty had the lowest price out of all the surrounding dealerships. I literally test drove the car and purchased it on my lunch break. It was amazing how fast they worked me in and out of the dealership. I would for sure recommend them to anyone looking for a new or used foreign car. They even printed the clean CarFax.

I felt the sales process was open and clear. I had priced vehicles on line and came to the dealer to view the vehicles. They did not try to sell me anything I di not want. The selection was okay but they were willing to search other dealers for the color I wanted but I settled for one on the lot. The service people are generally friendly and concerned to make things right. I had some warranty work done and was able to get a loaner each time. I highly recommend them

I inquired about used xc70 and they gave good quote over the phone and in final stages closing the deal Steve -" The Manager" started playing the typical dealer tricks and inflated the price by $2000. I agreed since I didnt have time to waste and they offered me $2000 for the trade-in which he claims $500 more than the his used car manager's appraisal !!. Later I showed a dent and few major scratches on the body of xc70,then he told me he will reduce it by another $300. After going back and forth, we agreed on a figure , then suddelnly "manager steve" ( I like to see his educational qualifications ) who is barely civilized told me my car is worth only $800 and he started in his abusive tone , he has no idea how to talk to people, his explanation was "if you find a defect in my car I will find a defect in your trade in "!!. I realized that I could not stand a cave man for long so I asked for his manager's contact details . He gave to me cursing "you people are like this " . Am still trying to figure out what that means so I have mail his manager to understand the "Libertyville Auto Plaza " language , By the way am not from a prominent race. You wont see place in America where customers are treated like crap

Liberty Auto Plaza Volkswagen Service is the most customer focused service department I have worked with in my 50 years of driving. The service managers are pro active in keeping you informed of anticipated service needs, recalls, projected costs, available specials, etc. They make it a point of knowing your name and needs; working with your budget; making loaners or rides available; providing a comfortable waiting environment. Because of the service, we acquired a used vehicle there and found our salesman met the same high standards as service managers.

Called me back the next day saying that he would be able to trade of the car and have it there in a few days. We worked out a price and made a verbal agreement. 3 days later we went to pick up the car. The car and paperwork were as promised and everything went smoothly. I use to have my car "taken care" of at another local dealership THAT I TRUSTED, but dealing with horrible service and them never being able to diagnose the problem, I started taking my car to Liberty. They were always completely honest with me, describing things in terminology I could understand, fixing the problems that were caused at another dealership and were always willing to help me. I called the other day to get an appointment the next morning and sure enough, they were able to fit me in. They know me when I walk in and I've NEVER had a problem with my car after I left the dealership. Knowing that I have a Volkswagen and some issues are pricey, I never have complaints on pricing either, it comes with the territory of owning one. Thank you Bill and Mike! I wouldn't know what to do without your service on my Volkswagen!

The VW Service Department goes the "extra mile" to help out their customers. I have had nothing but good experiences there and they have kept my daughter's 2004 Jetta VR6 running in tip top shape. The only downside, as with most European sports sedans, is that the maintenance charges are on par with other high end brands (about the same as my MINI and the wife's Lexus). Liberty VW has good coupons from time-to-time for service specials to help off-set some of these costs.

Worst car dealer in Illinois!I bought a VW tiguan in August. We agreed to pay extra for the 17'' alloy wheel, and blue-tooth connection. When we picked up the car two days later, the dealer told us the wheel on the car was 17'' alloy, with no comparisons we trusted the dealer. When we get home and did some research, we found those were just standard wheels. So we went back to the dealer, they took out the original sales paper and on there they put "no 17'' alloy wheels". The handwriting was completely different, everyone could tell they wrote that just moment ago. The salesman and manager both denied that they ever agreed to such a deal.So I talked to the "General Manager", yea... He made my day even better...First he kept brag about how many real estates he ever bought, kept on saying that was my fault for not taking a closer look of the car, and then he raised his voice and started to threading me. Great!BTW, check, BBB, They got an F! no surprise! It was 6 month ago, now I decided to buy another VW, a VW CC. I learned and searched for dealer ratings this time! That got "DealerRater.com Certified Dealer"... What a Joke. Read the reviews, don't trust this website.

After being instructed to drop the car off at noon, I arrived to find the mechanics were all at lunch. I was told they'd need a hour and a half to look at my car. Courtesy ride back to work was followed by a return trip at 4, their latest pickup time. The dealership had confirmed the two problems I had advised - rear defroster inoperable, muffler broken off at flange. Parts were on order, but my warranty would cover both services. I had to leave the car there all afternoon for them to confirm what I knew and could demonstrate with five minutes of pointing. It took 30 minutes for them to bring the wrong vehicle out front for me and an additional 10 to get my vehicle. I received a phone call the next morning advising my muffler is actually not under warranty. Terry offered me the number for warrantyservice and said he'd call back in 10 minutes. Hours later, I've received no call and only reach voicemailI. I need my vehicle fixed and am willing to pay, but this unprofessional behavior leaves me with no choice but to call around.

Worst experience ever! I struggle to find words strong enough to adequately describe how horrible my experience was without using profanity. I found the car I LOVED online, and after running through pricing, trade, and financing at another dealer, I had a good idea of what I wanted to have happen when I walked through the doors. After getting back from the test drive Carl asked me if I liked it. Of course I said yes, and then explained that liking and affording are two different things and we needed to talk numbers. He said that he was going to have all the stickers taken off and have it cleaned while we drew up the paperwork. I repeated that I was not buying the car, but wanted to look at different pricing options with and without a trade, different financing packages, etc. He told me, in a condescending tone, that he would have me work those things out with the finance guy in just a few minutes and that it would all work out just fine. AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES later (I was the only customer I saw), I sat down with the finance guy. He was told by Carl that it was a done deal at numbers I never agreed to. They offered me HALF on my trade in than what I was offered three days prior at another dealer, financing that was TWO AND A HALF TIMES what I was offered elsewhere, and refused to budge a penny on the asking price. I am convinced that despite my telling Carl that I am a math teacher and a numbers person, he was taking me for such a ride because I came in there by myself as a woman. I walked away from a car I LOVE and have been hunting for simply because I couldn't bear to give this joke of a man my money. To make matters worse, I called the other VW dealer to check some of the "facts" I was told about warranties and financing, and found out that I was flat out LIED TO. UGH! It makes my blood pressure rise just thinking about the place.

I was insulted with the stereotypical "car salesman" tactics used on me. I was told that the car I wanted to but would cost sticker price, no less. And I had to put down $1500 for a dealer locate. Ted even told me the wrong stocker price that was $3000 MORE than the real sticker. He wouldn't even hear of my wanting to just order the car (2010 Altima). If this dealer hires people like Ted and Amanda, then I say find another Nissan dealer. To be fair, at least I called and complained, and Bill the manager apologized and stated I will work directly with him from now on. This dealership will not get my business though. I received Much better service from 2 other Nissan dealers, and will choose one of them, even though they are further away from me.

I am not satisfied, as a matter of fact I will NEVER buy from Liberty Auto Plaza again. I found out when making my 36th payment on a company car lease that I owed another payment. After investigation I was told that my first months lease payment, or so I thought, went as a downpayment. I was told that this is a common ploy of car salesman to make money and it happened at Liberty Auto Plaza in Libertyville. I took my issue to the sales manager, Curt Byron and to the owner John Masserelli and they had told me that they would provide a store credit to be used for service, merchandise, etc. This never happened and it was like pulling teeth dealing with these guys. Curt NEVER returned my calls, and I found the owner less than pleasant. All they wanted to do is apply it to a new car purchase/lease. That didn't help things, they gave the impression that they could care less about me. So long story short, I have purchased a new Chevrolet Traverse from across the street, now those people care about their customers! I will never recommend to my over 4200 clients buying a Volkswagen and if they ever call me with dealings from Liberty Auto Plaza, I will politely tell them to run!

I DID NOT buy a car from this dealer, I had an absolutely miserable experience with them. I sent internet inquiries to several dealers in my area and received quotes from three of them. When I got to this dealer I found that they not only lied to me about the price by failing to disclose all kinds of "fees" that weren't included in my quote, but they didnt even have the colors and options I wanted when I asked for the quote even though they said they did. They also quoted me pricing on a totally stripped down car with none of the options I had specified. I would never do business with this dealer.
