I bought a new 2015 honda accord and a pre-paid maintenance plan for 4 years/48,000 miles. As it was my first time buying a new car and getting the maintenance plan, I was under the impression that I can take my car for a routine check-up at Any Honda Dealerships. This is a common practice that I hear from many people. Recently, when it was time for me to do an oil change, I went to Capitol Honda which is near my house. They said that this maintenance plan that I purchase is only valid at Larry Hopkins; it is not the usual maintenance plan where I can take to any Honda dealerships. Why would Larry Hopkins sell me that? I don't live and work around Sunnyvale area and not even sure where I will be in the next 4 years. This is so inconvenient. Please be careful when you buy the maintenance plan along with your new car from Larry Hopkins. They may take advantage of first-timer people like me.

I bought a 6 speed manual transmission Honda Accord EX in August of 2016 from Larry Hopkins Honda. It was a smooth and no pressure experience overall, with the salesperson, sales manager, and the finance manager all reasonable and pleasant to deal with.I did not notice any pressure tactics or overly aggressive attitude from Khoshal Sherzad, my salesperson, sales manager Joe or the finance manager Habib. I felt I only had decent, over and above dealings throughout the transactions. Things were generally simple and smooth. The only reason it took longer than average was because I wanted a different color car than the one they had, as well as my old car I was trading in. They tried and did accommodate my wishes in the end, so I have a fine car now with little to complain about.Khoshal Sherzad, the young salesperson who took care of me, was a pleasant and straightforward young man who was surprisingly good all around considering he's fairly new to not only the business but to the country too. He knew the cars pretty well and could explained most of the details when I needed them. I would recommend him without hesitation. Overall, I had pleasant dealings with Larry Hopkins Honda, and would use them again for my future needs for Honda products.

He told me that there is no hidden charge from Larry Hopkins and although his duty requires that he introduce all kinds of options to me but it is absolutely not a must to add-on if I am not into making it luxurious. With Scott Edgar help I am not feeling any pressure and everything is sought out pretty smoothly. We went through the show of the basic functions, test drive and financing, Scott was with me all the way, giving very detailed explanations. I got a deal for 2016 Accord EX-L through Edmunds.com and Mina Fam (Internet sales guy) contacted me. He was very helpful and offered me lower price than the lowest offer I got from other dealerships. He let me test drive the car and did not rush me through the process. He also explained the cost and everything patiently. I just did not like the finance guy, Hassan, and his manager because they forced me to buy an alarm system and a service package(which I canceled a day after). They told me I have to get those so they can offer me that price. I felt Hassan rushed me through the paper work and Hassan's manager was very rude and not helpful at all.I highly recommend for sales contact Mina Fam and get help from him but AVOID the finance guy called Hassan and his manager.In general I really liked that Mina offered me a really good deal on this car!!!!

I went to the internet to serach for a 2016 Honda car. After I filled in the information, the internet sale manager Nasir Karim contacted me. A few days later he give me a good price of the 2016 Honda accord. I like to deal with a sales person like him who is straight forward that I can deal with, with a reasonable offered starting price. The offered starting price makes me think that this dealer is willing to sell the car, instead of trying to get as much money as possible by selling a car to the customer.

I bought my FIT in early Feb this year and I also purchase car care plan for almost $1100. But the more I think about the less I wanted the plan so I decided to cancel it about a week later in mid-Feb.Cancellation was painless. However, they haven't refund my money and it has been almost 11 weeks!!!I am thinking about picking in front of their shop!DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!

The dealer (Ray Saadieh) was really nice to me. The color I wanted was a trade-in for them from another other dealership. On reaching to the dealership, I was told I would have to pay $200 more because of the trade-in but the dealer kept his promise and managed to get me the price he told me. The service was very good from him as well as the finance manager (Hassan).

Rudest manager(Joe) and the dealer out there. They change quotations like babies change diapers. Visit 1, gave a quote of X/month. Visit 2, gauging my will to make deal, changed it to (X+10)/month. Visit 3, changed the quotation to (X+20)/month and this time for choosing the color of the car.

I am looking for new Honda Pilot 2016 EX AWD + Honda sensing for weeks. I subscribed to few website in order to check out the pricing at different location. Most dealer call me back and provide me inaccurate info or just waste my time since they do not have what i look in their inventory. Some of dealer offered the car with higher mark up. Others with better price but a little out of town. Nasir from Larry Hopkins Honda able to offer exactly what i looking for and confirm the basic pricing before my visit. I save me lot of time. With Nasir at Larry Hopkins Honda you do not have to worry about being paid for higher price or being drag for day to close the deal. If you have done the home work before the visit you would know the price is right.

Mohammad Iqbal helped me to buy my Honda Fit LX 2016. I am driving now and am very happy with the purchase. I wouldn't say he is an Honda expert sale's person but he was friendly. I made the final deal with Joe who was supporting Mohammad. Everyone seemed nice and friendly. Later, I read through Yelp and other review sources and I found out that I went through similar experience of waiting for financing personnel. I waited almost three hours for him to finish his customer then it was my turn. It was really exhausting after long hours of work then just waiting around. I just wanted go home....but Mohammad tried to be a good company. We talked about our work and family and so much more. I wish him the best luck with his app that he is developing.Now I am waiting on my license plate and see how long it will take...one person on Yelp mentioned that he waited more than three months!!! I also changed my mind on car care plans that I got; after much reconsideration I don't think I need it so I emailed Hassan the finance personnel yesterday to cancel it. I will review again after those two results! :)

You should never buy a "Car Care Service Plan" from this dealer, especially you expect your mileage may not so large. Even if you buy it, you could not have a maintenance for your car from this dealer until the Oil Gage indicate the signal of maintenance.I payed $840 for 3 years' service, however, I could get only one time of minimum maintenance valued $40 in last 2 years. Absolutely does not make any sense. The worst things is they did not inform anything about the detail of maintenance pack before I bought it.Car is fair, car price is no problem. Maintenance is suck!

Just bought a 2016 Honda Accord, and it was a good experience. The people who worked here were friendly and easy to talk to, and actually felt pretty honest, relaxed (not pushy at all), and knowledgeable. The person who worked with me was Nasir Karim, and he spent several hours with me as I test drove two different cars and answered several questions I had. He wasn't pushy (which I very much appreciated), and didn't give me any hard-selling sales pitch (he gave a very small one at the very end, when he could tell I was ready to make my purchase anyway, and by that point I didn't mind at all). The experience was very straightforward and comfortable (and organized). I was able to drive my new car away that day, and felt very happy about how things went; it was a big enough lot that they even had the color I wanted available that day. (I'm not sure a smaller dealership would have had that.) Also, even though it was a Sunday, I didn't have to wait to be helped. Overall, I was pretty impressed.

We were looking for a 2015 Honda Accord coupe and asked for quotes from several dealers. Larry Hopkins team responded and I was connected to Mina Fam. I recently bought a Honda Accord at Hopkins Honda. In the recent 20 years, I have bought 3 Honda Accords from Hopkins. Mr. Sonny Luc, the manager, was so helpful. I put a request on the internet. Sonny called me to introduce himself and asked about the details of my desired options. Then he scheduled my visit. From the time I walked into the showroom, did the test drive, talked about the prices of different options to signing my check, I spent only around 2.5 hours. Obviously, Sonny had prepared all the information that I needed before my visit. He even delivered my new car. Definitely, I would recommend my friends to talk to Hopkins if they are interested in buying Honda.

My salesman, Jay Jayazeri, was outstanding in both sales and customer service. I felt no pressure to purchase and he did all necessary to get me into my car. I am - so far- happy with the purchase. It took me 15 years to go out and buy a car so I am not an easy sell by any means. The showroom etc was very clean and well lit with lots of informative literature to peruse. They also have a very good coffee machine !!! The paperwork signing was a snap - in fact it was harder to get the insurance than the car - they had more paperwork etc. All around excellent experience. Thanks Jay.

Had a great experience buying here - by far the most civilized and straight-forward sales group to buy a car with. My salesman Nasir Karim is easy to work with and talks straight. Don't settle for pushy, aggressive, or shifty car sales persons - drop by Larry Hopkins and see how easy it can be to get a great deal from good people!! I did need to return the following week to get a blown fuse fixed - and found the repairs department to be just as helpful and friendly and the sales department. The first time we went to this dealership to check out Odysseys the sales guy (don't remember his name) kind of blew us off. When we were ready to buy our van, we originally did not reach out to this dealership. I was shopping for a suitable, safe, and mileage efficient auto for my new driver daughter. Did some online research (safety and reliability in particular) and came up with a list of likely suitable used and new vehicles: then went to look at them and test drive. Went to several dealers. Was terribly impressed with Mina Fam, in sales, at Larry Hopkins Honda. Polite, knowledgeable, jovial, and very understanding. He used to be a mechanic himself. Mina spent a long time with me going over features, demonstrating various things, and answering questions. He then accompanied me to test drive the model of interest. He made me feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for him. On second visit, this time with my wife and daughter, Mina went over the feature set again, answered questions from us all and then allowed my daughter to test drive the vehicle. Mina kept in constant contact over the 5 or 6 days answering my questions on the phone and via Texts. I was very impressed when he pointed out a couple of benefits that the Honda had over another make that I had in mind. Originally I was going to buy a 2014 new (end of model year) but my wife and daughter wanted a couple of features that were not on any of the vehicles in their 2014 inventory. Mina with his General Sales Manager worked with me on price and I ended up buying a 2015 Civic equipped exactly as my wife and daughter wished (this clinched the deal and I have to say Mina went out of his way to meet our requests). After the purchase I mentioned that we wanted to buy some wet weather floor mats and Mina escorted us to Parts department himself and got us a break there too. The actual transaction of purchasing the car was also smooth, painless, clear, and well organized. The parts department were also polite, helpful, efficient and the parts arrived on the day they said they would. Given my experience I would not hesitate recommending Mina Fam at Larry Hopkins Honda. As the car is still brand new I haven't had interaction with their service department so I am unable, at this time, to comment upon quality of work and the experience I have had with that department and its function.

I recently bought a 2014 Honda CR-V at Larry Hopkins Honda and I couldn't ask for a better experience and service! Habib, the sales consultant from Hopkins Honda, replayed for my quote request with a price significantly lower than all other dealerships in the area. When I got to dealership to close the deal, Habib and Ali, the sales manager, were very pleasant and patiently answered all the questions I had (this is the first car im buying in the US). There were no last minute surprises (like last minute charges the competing car dealerships warned me about) and we ended up closing the deal on the exact out the door price I was talking about with Habib from day one. When I picked up the car, Habib made sure someone would be there to walk me through all the cars features. The best new car experience I could have expected! Highly recommended!

I bought my car from this Harry Hopkins Sunnyvale and trust me I made biggest mistake of my life.Everyone were nice till I signed the paper work.I trade in my car for honda pilot and the service person was suppose to fix few dings and dents on my car which they promise to fix it in day or two and it took them 14 days after calling them every day and asking status on my car I had no answere no one called me back for more than two weeks,finally got my car back and now after 3 months I got two tickets on my trade in car and no one is even willing to help me.spoke to Steven he was so rude and lied to me that he took care of the tickets.when I insist to talk to the owner and left him voice mail he called me back and asking me what I want to do.owner never called me back and I am stuck with two tickets that are in collection now because they did not submit DMV paper works to the Amtrak and golden gate toll.This shows that all they wants is your money and they don't care about anything else.they should have transferred my audit once I trade in.I would not recommend anyone to buy car from here because they will lie and take you money and when you need them they don't care.even the finance person I left message to owner severel times and he did not even called me back once.from the sales guys Nasir,finance guy Ali Omar,manager Steven and the owner Ryan Hopkins don't trust them because you will regret.It's been 3 months and I started having problem with my car too.dont know where to go now because this people are even unhelpful and I am not comfortable taking my car to this dealer.i wish I would have never trade in my audi Q5 with them.

My daughter and her husband bought a Honda CRV in January from Jay Jazayeri. They referred me to Larry Hopkins when I was looking to buy a new car. My daughter and her husband accompanied me in my search for a new car. We walked around the car lot and were greeted by the salesman. As I was speaking the the salesman, Jay came out and greeted my son in law. He even remembered my son in laws first name. He listened to me as I explained what I was looking for in a new car. He answered all my questions and showed me some cars that I liked. (He wasn't pushy at all) He made me feel comfortable and let me test drive a new car. I was sold on the Honda Civic. After I chose the color I wanted I returned to find my new car washed, filled with a full tank of gas and then Sammy showed me all of the features of my new Civic. After an unsatisfactory visit to a Honda dealer in San Jose, my wife and I had better luck at Larry Hopkins Honda in Sunnyvale. When the sales rep, Qutbudin Nawazi, found out that none of the cars on the lot met our requirements, he and his manager found the car we wanted at another dealer and arranged to have it driven over for us. Both Nawazi and the finance manager, Ali Omar, made sure everything went smoothly. We got the car we wanted and we're quite happy.

Immediately I asked for a quote on the Internet, I got an email telling me that I could buy the car off the lot immediately via a "Pay button" Eventually, I scheduled a visit to the place to check out a pre-owned 2012 subaru. Even after stating in my email that I would prefer to be contacted via email during business hours, I was contacted by the office by phone. I missed the call. The sales office then called me the next day in the morning, 9AM sharp. When I finally visited the place, I was taken to the Subaru. Nasir was very patient and showed me a bunch of features that the car has. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to test drive the car. Even with these circumstances, I started making my offer. I ended up having to talk to their sales manager. I compared the newest model of the same car with what they have on the lot. It was hands-down too expensive. And they could not justify the money they were asking for. The sales manager could not defend their price tag other than saying "We bought it for this much". I told him bluntly that I am interested in how much they say they paid for the car, I was unwilling to believe that a dealership would spend $18k on a trade-in, only to make a few hundred dollars. Even without being offered to test drive the car, I continuously state my interests and encourage them to work with me on a price but to no avail. I didn't feel that I was welcomed to be there when I first stepped foot into to the dealership. Perhaps because of how young I look. No test drive was offered while the entire team was aggressively trying to get me buy the car in various ways. Also, I would be okay to pay the price if the sales manager was able to justify it instead of keep on telling me how much they paid for the car and how much they could make by selling the car in the auction. It was a waste of my time. Instead of suggesting scenarios that are unrealistic and irrelevant to the deal, how about learning the current features and deals the competitor is offering around the area so that I am convinced that I am paying a fair price?

Habib even took the time to show my wife all the features on her new CR-Z and went as far as to buff out a couple marks on the mirror. That's customer service. Never before did I buy a car from a dealer. I always bought a slightly used car from a private party thinking that it would be cheaper and more honest. This time I turned to Larry Honda Dealership in Sunnyvale because I wasted a lot of time looking for a suitable Honda Civic Hybrid usuing y usual method. I turned to them because they had several cars that looked very attractive to me. I was fortunate enough to work with Qutbudin Nawazi. He was friendly, patient, knowledgeable. Did I say patient? I was changing my mind, the color of the car, the price,etc. The overall experience was fantastic. When Nawazi was not there, his team members stepped in to help but were very respectful of my desire to work with Nawazi. We concluded the deal in three days and I am a very happy driver of a wonderful 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid Wichita is practically new, thanks to Nawazi and the rest of the team!

Just want to Thank Habib Qasimi for helping me with my new car purchase. I was in the market for a new Honda CR-Z. I checked out all of the internet sites to see what was available. Larry Hopkins had the car I wanted so I emailed them asking if they would match or better the price I had obtained from one of those "car price services". Habib responded with a great quote, so I took a drive down to Sunnyvale to check out the car. I feel I got an very good deal with minimal hassle. Habib was friendly and knowledgeable and easy to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to send my friends or family his way if they need a new car.

Crooks, Liars and Thieves - Avoid this dealership.So, I went into this dealership wanting a Honda CRV EX-L without GPS. When I got there, the salesman had me test-drive one with the GPS. Now, I hadn't been interested in a back-up camera until he had me back into the parking space when we got back. Fell in love with that feature (especially since it is difficult to see behind you in these cars). The salesman LIED to me, saying that only the GPS models have the back-up camera (the more expensive model, btw). I found out he lied weeks later when I was reading my manual and it said it is a feature that shows on a different screen on the non-GPS ones. The worst, most, crooked part came from the financing manager. We signed a lease contract with a stated price. This contract was fully executed, meaning myself and the financing manager had signed and dated the contract. A few days later, I get a call from the financing guy saying that my financing had been declined and I would need to spend an extra $30/month and asking when I would come in to sign new paperwork.I told him I'd call him back and went home to read my lease agreement. There was nothing in there saying pricing was provisional or that the dealership could cancel the contract if the bank didn't give them the financing they wanted.I called the financing manager the next morning and had this conversation:Me: So, I looked at my lease contract and I couldn't find anywhere that it says the pricing is provisional or subject to change.Him: (condescending voice, btw) Did you read the *back* of the contract?Me: Yes and I didn't find anything in there stating that the pricing was provisional.Him: Well, but it says we have the right to cancel a contract at any time.Me (polite, sweet voice): Really? Can you tell me what clause that is in because I can't find it in here?Him: I'll have to re-read it. I'll call you back.He never called me back. A week later, I got a call from someone else entirely asking for more details (paystubs, etc.) which indicated to me they were hunting down the financing.When the due date for the first payment was coming up, and I still hadn't gotten an invoice, I called the dealership. I had no idea who to pay and I didn't want my first payment to be late.The person on the phone told me they usually pay the first payment if the financing takes a while and then have the customer pay them back. She said she'd check and call me back. Nope, they hadn't made the payment for me. Thankfully, she gave me an 800 number to call and I was able to pay on time. But, I'm pretty sure they didn't make that first payment because they were mad that I wouldn't let them lie to me or cheat me.I signed up for their service contract, too. (person upselling it lied about it, too btw - it's a reimbursement plan, not a come in and get service plan) I will not be taking my car to their service department based on 1) the reviews on yelp and 2) fear of retaliation.TL;DR: Salesman lied and got me into a more expensive car than I wanted; financing manager tried to get me to pay more per month than we had in our already signed, fully-executed contract by lying - I knew better.Stay away from them.

We just move from Asian country to Sunnyvale. So we have to get a car. After I purchased the car from Larry Hopkins Honda, we were called to the financial department to talk to Yen (I was not sure his name) about settle the payment and sign contract. Then, he persuaded us to purchase the Honda Care which cost $810. On next day, we wanted to cancel because we were told it is far expensive. I went to this financial person and he refused to refund. He said it's on the contract and non-cancel. I was shocked because I haven't enjoy the service yet why I can't get the refund.I talked to our friend live here for over 10 years. He said it must can be canceled. So I called Honda customer service and easier get the refund check. While I talked to the customer service that I wanna cancel the Honda care, she firstly asked me to get this refund via Larry Hopkins. Then I told her it was rejected. I told the CS I don't know why dealer reject but Honda CS accept. She also replied me, she doesn't know either why dealer rejected me. Anyhow, the cancellation request is acceptable and I received the refund check. And, gave bad review to Larry Hopkins dealer while they send survey to my email, but until now (over 10 days), no one from the dealer respond to me. I would like to express that I will NEVER NEVER do the business with this dealer. I told this experience to all my friends and they will not deal business with Larry Hopkins Honda.

I had the sweetest deal yesterday. Went there in the Friday afternoon, met the sales guy "Ali Omar", he was polite He physically walked me through list the cars he had with the specifications i wanted. Also showed me which of those had least miles on it. I choose the color i wanted.Then came the numbers.This sales person was so good. he even negotiated the price, but the manager wasn't willing me to trade me at the rate i was asking for. So we left. Neverthless the Sales person "Omar" called me up within like 15 mins and followed up and asked me to come in the evening and assured me he would get me the deal.Went back in the evening, the guy kept up his word and I got the car.I had been previously to Capitol Honda and Stevens creek Honda as well, but had bad experiences like others, But these Larry Hopkins Honda guys were good, prompt and honest.All in all very satisfied, specially all because of their sales guy "Omar".

Though I bought my previous Honda Accord from another dealer, I brought it in for service to Hopkins Honda everytime it needed it. The professionalism and high quality of work I encountered led me to purchase my Crosstour from Hopkins. It's a great company.

I found a used vehicle on their website and I was very interested in it, so after emailing back and forth with Mr. Carter,the internet sales manager, we decided to make the long drive down to Sunnyvale intending to make a purchase. But the actual vehicle did not appear as depicted online; it wasn't even detailed and a handle was broken and there were dents and dings in it and the bumper color didn't exactly match the rest of the minivan! Upon having an independent mechanic inspect the vehicle we decided that there were too many issues with the minivan. After telling Mr. Carter the issues he directed us to the sales manager, who at least had the decency to reimburse us for all the gas money we were out of since we drove over 100 miles one way. Overall, I would not do business with this dealership.

Hondas image is in jeopardy with the service these guys provide. Nobody cares about returning customer calls. I don't really understand how these guys are in business in this economy-Truly astounding. If someone comes to this website and see reviews they would know why, but I guess people dont have time to do reviews.

I purchased a 2011 Honda Fit Sport from this dealership, and while I am happy with the car and its price, I am extremely displeased at the misrepresention of the car alarm sold by the finance manager, David, that I spoke with.Sales:Worked with Habib over the internet, asking him to match prices from other dealerships or lower the dealership's price. He was great at giving me quick responses and honest when he said that they could not go any lower. Very satisfied with his professionalism.At the dealer:Since Habib was off work the day I went in to purchase the car, he contacted Jay for me (on a day when he wasn't working!), and Jay was the one that took me for a test drive for the car and took my dad and I through the credit application. Gave us water and coffee while filling out the form -- quite friendly. Did not hesitate to answer any questions about the car. Spent about an hour with him test-driving and filling out the credit application. Gave him a printout of my email correspondence with Habib, and there was no further discussion for the price for the car.Finance:My overall main issue with the dealership that led to my 2 star rating was the misleading way that David sold us the Karr alarm system to us and the way the dealership resolved (or didn't resolve) the matter. David had implied that the Karr system that the dealer would sell to us would completely prevent tire theft by activating the factory alarm and included a shock, motion, and tilt sensor; however, after reviewing the flyer given afterward (there wasn't even a brochure for the system), the $505+tax (I know, I know -- we were ripped off) Karr system only included a shock sensor. Additionally, I found out later that these alarms were already preinstalled on the cars for the dealer's own insurance purposes, and all that they did was put some piece of plastic in a block under the steering by the driver's leg. My dad and I had thought that they would be installing a separate alarm for us at our request -- not have them try to sell us something already installed anyways. David had also brought up pictures on his phone that were supposedly tires that had been stolen from Fits at the dealership the other night to convince us to get the alarm. In hindsight, that was obviously a sign that the alarms did not work... He also sold us an extended warranty that I later found out was completely overcharged -- you can get a much better deal for an extended warranty with Saccucci Honda Care FYI if you really want one.My father and I revisited the dealership a couple days afterward to resolve these problems we had with the add-ons we purchased. We had asked that the dealership match the Saccucci Honda Care quote we received or cancel the extended warranty with them so we could repurchase it from Saccucci -- the dealership had no problem cancelling the warranty for us. However, since David was not in, we spoke with another financing agent Melissa, who later called in another person (I did not get his name, but I presume he was her manager) to address our problems with the security system we received. He stated that it was not store policy to refund the alarms. I explained that the alarm system was misrepresented and that my dad and I believed that we had additionally received motion and tilt sensors to prevent tire theft -- all that the second agent would say was the the shock sensor installed would go off if someone tried to jack the car to steal the tires. I asked him to prove and show to me that this would happen and he just stated that since it was raining outside (true) he would be unable to show us at the time. He also stated that he was unable to refund the alarm because once activated, it could not be deactivated or removed to place on another car. I could not believe this reasoning due to the fact that 1. the alarm was already installed on the car regardless of our purchase; it cost them nothing extra to sell, and 2. alarms are not activated or deactivated -- they are installed or not installed. Of course the shock sensor could be transferred, it was only a bunch of wires and a sensor. At this point, my father and I had spent enough time at the dealership trying to get a refund for the alarm, so we just signed the cancellation form for the extended warranty and left.I highly doubt that any further effort to gain a refund for $505+tax for the security system is worth any more of our time, so I am taking this as an expensive lesson and hoping to share with others not to fall for and buy the alarm or the extended warranty at the dealership you are purchasing a car. They are both drastic ripoffs. All I have to say at this point is that the sales representatives that I worked with were great and would have earned 5 stars from me, but the financing department really ruined the car-buying experience.P.S. I tried to test out the shock/impact sensor by setting the alarm and kicking the car repeatedly so that it shook -- nothing went off.

I went there to buy my CR-V lx and they treated me with great respect. no salesman bull. i went to deal with the internet department at hopkins honda, so the prices were quoted up front with no hassle, also dealt with KB Samaha, the Internet Director him self, he was kind and very professional. got there, and went out without feeling it. definately would recommend going there. their internet department are up to speed. go in, buy and get out. and they called me after they sold me the car to make sure everything was ok. a true trooper. :-)

Just wanted to post my recent experience with Larry Hopkins Honda in Sunnyvale, CA. I took my 99 Accord Coupe V6 in for 90k service and timing belt replacement. About a few days later, I noticed a knocking noise coming from the engine. So naturally, I thought that it was probably something they messed up on. When I took it back, their first reaction was to immediately say that there is no correlation between that symptom and the timing belt change. The service advisor even tried to threaten me by saying that if they took apart the engine and found out that it wasn't their fault, i would be charged for a 9 hour job. Luckily, I spoke to the service manager about this before taking the car in, and he said that they would take a look at it with no charge. They dragged their feet for a few days and everytime I called back asking about the status of my car, they would tell me that they are still looking for the issue or that they didn't get to my car yet, or we would have to charge you more to find out the problem. Not until I pulled in to their store after waiting for 4 days, did they give me this incredulous story:They said that it wasn't their fault for the knocking noise in the engine, then proceeded to show me a broken off headbolt from my car's engine block was the "culprit" of the knocking noise. They said somehow it broke off on it's own and fell into the valves causing the knocking noise. They were extremely nice about it EVEN though it took them 1/2 day to take apart engine to do this and replace a tensioner on my engine for free. Flags when up in my mind when I noticed this 180degree change in attitude. I suspected that they are trying to cover up a major screw up. The really stupid thing they tried to do was to convince me to buy a new car because of this "unfortunate" turn of events.They said due to the damage of headbolt coming off and the screw still being left in place it would be very expensive to repair the engine because when you extract it, it could cause damage to the aluminum block. So they even proposed for me to pawn this car off to some other dealership with this known fact and trade it in. That totally pissed me off, cause how could they even dare suggest a thing like this to their customer. More flags came up in my mind that this was some elaborate cover up for a mistake they made on my car's service. Not satisfied at all with their service, I took my car in the next day to private mechanic.He told me after reading their written reports that it was total BS. Basically they were crazy to even let me drive a car in that condition off the lot. I could have been in a serious accident if the engine had failed in the middle of a freeway. I am going to pursue this matter to the fullest. I will have more updates later since I should be getting back to work. But I just thought that I should share this story just in case if anyone else in the Bay Area decides to take their car into this shady dealership.
