I was in the market for a great car that wouldn't cost me a ton of money. I was able to find a great vehicle for a GREAT price at Hertz Car Sales of Smithtown. The whole process from start to finish was really simple and within 1 day I was driving home in my new (for me) vehicle. My salesman, Joe Jones was straightforward, friendly and very helpful. There are no hidden surprises when dealing with this company. I would definitely recommend them to someone and I would consider looking there for my next vehicle.

Very simple process, no haggle, great cars, nice people, and I didn't feel like I needed a shower when I left. Joe was a gentleman and good salesman.

Just need to work on answering phone more promptly, only a few sales guys so when they were all busy I couldn't get anyone to pick up the phone. This was my only issue, car also didn't come with mats. Salesmen were very accommodating and nice. I got a great deal on a newer car so it was definitely worth it.

My daughter needed to replace her car that was recently totaled in an accident. Car shopping with her is not an easy thing to do - I was happy her first car lasted 11 years. I did a lot of research online and found that Hertz Car Sales in Smithtown had an excellent selection and very good prices. We arrived at the dealership and began walking around the lot, looking for the cars we saw online. Joe came out and introduced himself and asked if we had any questions, he was there to help. No pressure at all during the entire visit. I told him our budget, and he began showing us all the cars we could afford. My daughter was becoming a little overwhelmed with all the choices, so Joe backed off and let her and I talk about the different options. We narrowed it down to a few cars, and Joe shared his extensive knowledge of the cars and showed us the differences between our choices. He offered to let us test drive as many cars as we wanted to. We decided on a Kia Forte and took it for a ride. My daughter liked it and we decided to purchase it. Joe made the purchase process quick and painless. No hidden dealer charges or fees kept the price well within our budget. When the time comes for me or my wife to purchase a car, we will definitely return to Hertz Car Sales in Smithtown..

Had a great experience with this dealer last Fall, when our daughter bought a used car. My wife and I recently returned to purchase a used car ourselves, and were very pleased with the process, the sales person, Mr. Joseph Jones, and the quality of the car we selected. I look forward to returning to them again, as a valued and trusted source of vehicles for our family.

I heard about Hertz Car Sales from a family member that lives in Long Island and who had purchased vehicles from Hertz before. The fact that I was looking for a certified pre owned car, to replace my 16 year old Nissan, came up in conversation and she told me about Hertz. She got out her phone, brought up their website and started showing me how to maneuver the search options in order to find something that fit my requirements. I noticed that all of their inventory was from 2012 and newer and that they had a number of cars that fit my price range. My cousin also told me about Hertz's "No Haggle Pricing." She was so avid about them that by the end of the conversation she had me determined to take a trip out to Long Island to check them out myself. She also informed me that their inventory moves quickly, so that if I saw something I was interested in I should try to see it sooner rather than later. That is exactly what I did. I had already decided on buying a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla and I searched their website (as well as several others) throughout the next week and saw a few cars in my price range. I saved a couple of cars I looked at online (their website allows you to do this) and received an email from the dealership stating general information about contacting them. That weekend I took a trip to the Smithtown franchise. I went with my cousin and as soon as we started walking through the lot, a salesman came out to greet us. He introduced himself, Joseph Jones, and began helping us. It's not like I'm a difficult customer; I'm actually pretty easy. I knew what I was looking for, the price range I wanted and what cars the Smithtown site had advertised having in stock. I even showed Mr. Jones the cars I was interested in on my phone and pulled up the stock numbers for him. But even with all the same givens, my previous visits to other dealerships were not even close to successful or pleasant. My trip to Smithtown was both, starting with the fact that they had the cars in stock that they had advertised. Mr. Jones immediately took me to the vehicles I was interested in, instead of trying to get me to look at something else that might be more expensive - as another dealer had done. He grabbed the keys and handed them to me, and told me to get in and start it up just to see what it was like. On the test drive he was funny and conversational. Back at his desk he was absolutely no pressure. He was informative, answered my questions, gave me all the details I needed once I decided to commit to a purchase, and all in all, everything a salesperson should be. I even thought he would balk when I asked if it would be ok with me bringing him a bank check on Tuesday- 3 days later (it was Saturday of Memorial Day weekend so the bank wouldn't be open again until that Tuesday). Even though Hertz didn't take a downpayment- Mr. Jones took the delay in stride and assured me that it wouldn't be an issue, and it wasn't. I went back Tuesday evening, which happened to be Mr. Jones' day off, but I still drove home in my new certified car because Mr. Jones came in on his evening off to close the deal and was perfectly gracious about it. The price by the way truly was no haggle. What was advertised was what I paid (not including taxes and registration of course). There were no hidden dealer fees or anything else. Now granted it's only been a few days since I purchased my vehicle but so far so good and Mr. Jones even sent me a couple of follow up emails to make sure everything was going well. I would totally recommend Hertz Car Sales Smithtown and I urge you to ask for Joseph Jones if you do go there.

Even though I worked with Mr. Jones who was patient no matter how many times I entered the dealership, called to ask questions, or was running late from work, ever sales expert was pleasant and quick to help. The car I purchased had a few minor areas that needed touch up paint and the dealership was quick to say "No problem we can take care of that" Additionally, the financial officer was patient and kind in finalizing the sale. I have already shared my positive experience with others and shared business cards for future sales. Also, remember to ask for coupons (e.g.: AAA) and awards programs such as renting a car after a car purchase. I am not sure what type of regular dealer can offer such benefits.

I have owned 13 vehicles in my lifetime and 12 of them have been purchased as used vehicles. Let's just say I like to buy value. I was looking for a 2013 Nissan Xterra 4x4. I found that Hertz Car Sales had several of them coming out of their fleet all around their locations in the Northeast area. The ones that interested me most were located at the Smithtown, NY, Hertz location. Right from the start Sean and Matt provided me all the information I requested before I made the long trip to Long Island from the Boston area. Once I got there they let me spend as much time as I wanted to inspecting and going over the vehicles as much as I wanted. I was able to take several test drives. I get good deals on used vehicles because I take my time and look everything over in detail. The Hertz team allowed me all the time I wanted. Everything about the paperwork was clear, simply and easy. The process of picking the vehicle up was effortless and fast. There was no pressure at anytime during the process. Sean answered every question I had and provided additional information that I did not even think to ask. Most helpful. It has been a over a month and I have been enjoying many miles already in my Xterra. Thanks to the guys at hertz Smithtown for a pleasant buying experience.

I am a previous Hertz Car Sales Customer in Los Angeles. I found it the very best way to buy a solid car at a great price. My Daughter and Son In Law (with a new baby) in Brooklyn needed a car. I did my due diligence and flew all the way to New York to assist. The car we wanted was in Smithtown. All I can say is Matt, Victor and Tony made this the most enjoyable car buying experience I have had in a half century of being 'a Car Guy'. No high pressure, no sales hustle. These guys are ethical, kind and professional. They took care of us like we were family. No kidding. They gave us every assistance, every courtesy. HONEST, no haggling price. The car was already marked down several thousand below what we could have purchased anywhere else. Hertz Car Sales has reinvented buying a preowned vehicle and they take the guesswork and stress out of buying a car. These are Fleet Cars with a complete history. All Certified. They are sold at $1,000 under Blue Book Price. We put my grandson in the back seat of a beautiful Silver Prius Hatchback, a car that looked and performed like a new car...for half that price. I'm having trouble believing some of the other reviews because my experience with the dealership (and Kerry in particular) was awful. I live interstate, so made a long trip to test drive a vehicle. They seemed to know nothing about the vehicle, no service history, no idea about a 2nd key, etc. Nonetheless it was not a bad deal, so I purchased the car and was told to come back a week later so that they could organize transfer plates. The following week I called and said I'd be coming the following day. When I arrived Kerry was completely surprised, had forgotten I was coming. The vehicle was not ready, they hadn't gotten transfer plates so just left the old ones on the vehicle and told me to mail them back when I had gotten my new ones. I had to wait while they organized paperwork etc. The car was also filthy - there was trash in the console and some kind of liquid had been spilt in the trunk. There were hen hassles getting the title transfer paperwork. I must've called at least 10 times, neither Kerry nor Matt (the manager) returned my call A SINGLE TIME!! Incredibly poor customer service. I gave up on the dealership and eventually dealt with the corporate sales office who were must better, competant, returned calls etc. Consider yourself warned.
