Steven the customer service rep at the Toyota San Luis Obispo absolutely welcomed myself this morning . Steven was superb and took great care of me and my SUV this morning ( 11Nov21, 0730am). He walked every steps of the way of how my morning will be like after dropping of my SUV for a regular oil changes. I could not have had a better days than this. I just wanted to say Thank You to Steven and his team at the Toyota San Luis Obispo for the outstanding costumer service reps. What a great teams everyone out there. Steven, again. Thanks

Very happy with our service today! Staff was helpful, courteous and friendly!!! They were very honest and upfront about everything. Gave me a fair price for my trade in and worked to get me a deal I couldn’t pass up! I will definitely purchase a another vehicle with them!

Went in today to get my truck snogged. All went well and I was in and out in good time. Thanks to Diana J. I was happy to see that the Dealership was offering coffee and small snacks again. It sure makes the wait a little easier to take.

Our salesman Bob Rivera did a great job patiently explaining to us what we needed to know about buying a truck, answering our questions and walking us through some of the paperwork. He’s not a pushy sales guy at all, which we really appreciated and he’s very personable. We enjoyed meeting him and we highly recommend him to anyone thinking about buying a vehicle.

This was the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had buying a car. My sales consultant, Bob Rivera, was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable and made the entire process easy, stress free and enjoyable. He took time to explain everything in detail on the car. I bought a RAV 4 hybrid and it was my first experience with a hybrid vehicle. He made sure that I was comfortable and answered every question I had. I would highly recommend Toyota San Luis Obispo.

Joel from the service division went above and beyond the call of duty in assisting me with my Prius. He expedited it's repair and was helpful, patient, and professional. I HIGHLY recommend service at Toyota SLO and I'm beyond grateful for Joel's help.

I really wish I had read the reviews on this place before taking my car in for service. Very poor customer service and communication. If anyone from Toyota SLO management is reading this, please train your employees on how to provide some kind of quality customer service. The numerous consistently poor reviews should be a wake-up call to you. I have been to other dealerships and not experienced such indifferent attitudes. It appears this is unique to the SLO dealership.

Buyer beware!! Toyota Certification? We purchased a "Toyota Certified". Van had to be jumped to get started for the test drive, ok, that happens when a cars sits. We were told that the battery was replaced 6 weeks earlier and it was just charged, tested and was good. After singing all the paper work and ready to leave, I asked for the 2nd FOB, "oh, yea, not all the used cars have them". This was never brought up in negotiations and granted, I should have asked as well. Assumed it was standard to provide 2 keys. But we were offered the change to purchase a new one at their cost, $179, no offer to pick up the programming.Forward to 2 days later my pregnant wife is stuck in Paso in 100+ degree weather with a dead battery in this "Toyota Certified Vehicle". Now I had to take off, make an appointment to bring in a "Toyota Certified" vehicle in for an item that was just checked 48 hours earlier. I get that stuff happens, but it's the way that a "Service" based company handles it, that tells you about their business. I have no faith that the "Toyota Certification" was even done correctly and possible just flat rated. I am amazed of the amount disrespect that one of their service manage had when speaking with my wife. If you still plan on purchasing here, have you mechanic check it out, don't trust the "Toyota Certification" and ask about a second key upfront. Attempts to come to a solution have been in vain.

I went into this dealership with my husband after I had done all the research myself to be insulted by a supervisor by telling me I was completely wrong about what I had researched and that he had tried to explain it to me slowly and easily. I am not an idiot. I got it the first time they explained it to me. Then sent us over to sign papers in which the finance manager then said wives need reassurance from their husbands about their purchase. It's my car jerk. It has only my name on it. Do not go here. They are inflexible on prices and their trade in values are a joke.

I regretfully have taken my vehicle here on multiple occasions as there is no Lexus dealer in the area for service. I have been disappointed every visit. Most disappointing would be the Customer Service. The staff are rude and unprofessional - including management. I will not be taking my vehicle here anymore and would not recommend you to take your vehicle here for service.

After signing the agreement & other docs, financing and possession of the car, I realized I was given only ONE electronic key.The salesman said it only comes with ONE key but I could get another key at the Parts Department ($110 Key, cutting & programing).I contacted the management and said the salesman failed to disclosed that only ONE key come with the car. (Actual duplicate electronic key with remote locks $489)I ask the manager to reimburse me for the inexpensive key ($110), the manager stated that my attorney can meet with Toyota's Attorneys and hung up!I called back and re-requested reimbursement for the second inexpensive key ($110) on the manager's answer machine and said a legal remedy is too much an ordeal and told him that I will do my best to make sure that everyone and people I don't know to never ever buy from that dealership again (including past customers that referred me there, my neighbor who bought a used Toyota at this dealership received THREE full remote electronic keys included with his purchase). It too early to say the customers have been spoiled, it has always been a long standing custom to get a spare key with the purchase of a new or used car.I was never told there was only ONE key till all was said and done. Now about the car: All the Toyota's (Corolla, Camary) I have own have been the best. This new-used Toyota Yaris I trust will be as goodToyota is a great car, always has been.BUT NEVER NEVER BUY CAR AT THE SAN LUIS OBISPO TOYOTA DEALERSHIP!!!The salesman insinuated I was making a big deal out of a spare key ($489). The acting manager as written above backed him!If you are buying a new-used car make sure from the git before closing the deal that you will be given at lease TWO remote electronic keys ($489 each)! The salesman has an easy going personal, the acting manager behaves like a community loving pastor...don't let them fool you, you'll see the true colors when they cover up in the aftermath.I am 65 years old, perhaps this is the last lesson I'll need to realize that from generation to generation, the nature of theses nice appearing salesman and manager never change!GO ELSEWHERE TO BUY YOUR TOYOTA!!!

My expierence at this dealership was horrible. I walked on the lot to take my daughters car in for service and was accosted by Mo the salesman. He told me because I was the first customer of the day he would give me this 2007 Camry for $2000 less than sticker( which was $5000 over Kelly Blue Book) and $3500 for my trade in. I waited to see what the service dept said, we decided it need to much work and would get this Camry. Well they us in there and it was like the blind leading the blind. The salesman wanted our vin# and I told him for the 4th time that is was in service. He disappears for 15 minutes only to come back and ask me for theMileage. Again I told him my car was in service and why wouldn't he have looked at that when he went for the vin # ? He said the line was to long????!! What the hell? He then writes down some numbers and disappears for 40 only to come back to tell me that I had no credit. Again, what the hell? He told me he can't selle the car with no credit, I said check again myCredit score is well over 800. Low and behold he finds it. Them he disappears for another 30 minutes only to come back with bad news. The manager won't give me the price he promised or the trade in. I was now told I had to pay full price and get nothing for my trade in. Ok I said I'm out of here. The manager approaches me at the door. Only wants two minutes off time. We sit, I start my stop watch on my phone. First thing he wants to know is what kind of payment I would be happy with. Ok mister this isn't about payment it's about the price I walk out after 2 1/2 minutes he gets rude. My ding dong salesman chases me through the parking lot. I told him no again. He tellse this girl next to him wants to car but he only wants to sell it to me. Wow, that's at have made that girlFeel good. One last time he runs after me as I buckle my seat belt to tell me hallelujah the manager agreed to the price. Oh oops to late. End of story, I bought a great honda and spent more than I was going to at Toyota There is a lot more that wentOn during my visit to Toyota but I cut it short. Some of it actually funny. Like when the salesman cameIn and I said I was done and he asked if I would just give himA few more minutes, he really needed to wash his face. Ok mister sure I'll sit here longer while you freshen up Please don't buy from these guys, they lie.

I just took my 2009 Tacoma in for the acellerator recall and some other problems. I was told that I was out of warrenty even though I only have 31,000 miles on the truck. I questioned this as when I bought the truck I was told by the salesman that the warrenty was for 36,000 miles. The service Rep (Thorton) told me it was my fault that I had not read the entire agreement and that if I had I would have known that the warrenty was only good for 36 months. She was very nasty with a know-it-all attitude. I asked to talk to the service manager (Steve)who told me basically the same thing. He did say he would call Toyota and see if they would split some of the cost with me ($406)but that it was my problem and Toyota of San Luis Obispo had no responsibility in this matter. By the way I am only 5 and one half weeks over the 36 month time frame. It is obvious that this dealership has never heard of the phrase (customer service/satisfaction) and they do not practice it.You can bet that I have purchased my last Toyota.John T. I went to San Luis Obispo, Had done my homework on what I wanted, The price that I wanted to pay, which I admit, I didn't tell them, asked for the Cosco discount. Which they say is $700.00 over price. etc... I was given a Quote, I thought High, I called Longo toyota in L.A. Biggest dealer in the state, told them what I wanted and what I wanted out the door. I had put feelers out in the internet at Fresno, Santa Maria, Bakersfield, Oxnard. Which all got back to me.. Santa Maria called me, I told them I had a car At Longo Toyota, I was interested in at a certain price, they got that car. Didn't charge me the delivery fee and I paid them what I would have paid The L.A. dealer. Everyone was happy. I do Like the Service dept. in San Luis Obispo. I had bought a certified used Toyota Sienna at Santa Maria Toyota six years ago. I have been Very happy with them. If buying a new car, I recommend Santa Maria Toyota.

This place is AMAZING. I have had a number of negative experiences with other dealerships and service places and I go out of my way now to have my car serviced here. They know what they're doing, they do it quickly, and they never over-charge me or tell me I need something fixed that I don't. I sincerely appreciate their professionalism and work ethic.

I purchased 4 vehicles from this Dealership. With each vehicle I purchased an extended warrantee and a service warrantee. Each of which I was told that if I sold or traded the vehicle in, Toyota would give me back the remaining dollar amount on the warrantees. This was a lie, as I have gotten rid of each vehicle and I never received any refunds. I have been hounding them for this refund and a man named Abe Saba filled out the paperwork in July of 2010 again, but I never received a penny from Toyota or the Dealership. He promised to follow up on this and I have never heard from him again. This is thousands of dollars in refunds that I was ripped off.

I read some of the reviews here and see they are usually from 2006 or before. I don't know who was with Toyota of SLO then but my experience was far different than some of these other people.I went in to buy a new 2008 Tundra and had the good fortune of knowing Jeff K. who came from another dealership, (not Toyota), where I bought my previous new car. When Jeff went to Toyota of SLO, that is where I went because he is not a "salesman" like is often sterotyped.Jeff will show you everything in the class of vehicle you are looking for so that you know your options. He will work to find you the best deal, whether it's on their lot or on some other Toyota lot. He will explain the financing so you know what you will be paying when the ink is dry. He is straightforward, no-pressure, highly informative and makes sure you get all your questions answered before you leave. He'll even give you his private number for you to call if questions come up later. You will not find a better person to deal with at any showroom at any dealership. Jeff K is who you want to see if you're tired of being sold or tired of the sales tricks. Jeff doesn't play those games. Whether you're looking for a new or used vehicle, he is your man.

Absolutely every sales gimmick in the book. Even after I called them on the tricks, both sales people continued with the misleading information. They never could issue a direct quote. When we had verbally agreed on a price, the ol' good cop/bad cop routine started up and suddenly we're above msrp! Even more bizarre, they lied about their inventory in order to push more expensive models. I nearly bought a nissan for 1k more, just to I'd never have to deal with this dealership. I ended up driving 300 miles to get my car, and at a great price.

I made an appointment and took my Toyota Supra in because it was running rough. I was quoted an estimate of $350.00. I was notified two day later by SLO Toyota it was now going to cost me $600.00. When I picked up my car, I was charged $600.00 for spark plugs and plug wires and of course labor at $95.00 per hour. When I got home the car wouldn't idle under 1500 RPM so I looked under the hood and noticed the four bolts missing out of the ignition cover, a vacuum hose broken off from the air cleaner housing, and a large hose clamp not put back up on a vacuum hose to the intake manifold. I called San Luis (SLO) Toyota and asked "how much money do you people need to make to do a job right! Couldn't you notice the engine wasn't running correctly and at the correct RPM!" The Dealership said for me to just bring it back and they would fix it at no charge. I explained that I already paid you $600.00 for a tune up which I was quoted $350.00 and, drove an hour each way to your dealership and, I wanted "them" to come get my car and repair it correctly. SLO Toyota said they would not come fix it and that if I wanted it repaired, I had to get it back to SLO Toyota. Hence to say, I will never go to, or recommend that dealership to anyone. All they care about is getting your money because they know if you have a Toyota at their shop, "THEY GOT YOU.!"

I've purchased 3 new Toyotas from this dealership because it's the closest one to where I live (30 miles away)I would have purchased 2 more new Toyotas from them if they had better customer relations.Their managers are very young smug punks. Some of their salesmen are great, some are too pushy and some are big BS'ersIn the internet age it's not too difficult to be better informed than the salesperson when you've spent several days researching a particular vehicle, and I'm understanding of this, but when I ask a question I would rather hear "I don't know, I'll find out" instead of some BS that I "Know" isn't true. The sales managers have no class and they don't "Get It"They think that the only thing that matters to customers is the price they pay. When you get a good deal, they feel as if it is their right to treat you like crap and that you should kiss their butts for selling you a car for the same price that you could get it for if you traveled another 50 miles to the next Toyota dealership.

i had gone to the dealership a week or so prior to purchasing my vehicle. I talked to a young gentleman W. He took me on a test drive in the vehicle that I had been studying online. He was a nice young man and even introduced me to his manager. Even though they both told me that they would like to help me that day to purchase a vehicle, when i said that i still needed to think about it they did not get pushy like other dealerships such as honda and ford that i have been to. I then came back and purchased the vehicle from w who again showed me the whole vehicle and let me go for another drive. When it came to the negotiation I talked with L who presented to me what payments would be on the vehicle. I was very pleased with both of the gentlemen that helped me. thank you toyota slo

I purchased a used vehicle from this place, big mistake. I was trading in a vehicle that I was upside down on. I wanted to finance the vehicle through my own bank but was told by the finance person that no one would finance me for the vehicle for the price I was paying for it. I told him my bank would but he still said we needed to process the loan with Toyota and would not allow me to wait for the decision from my bank. I did the loan, planning to convert it to my own bank. I took out the extended warranty, and GAP insurance with Toyota. I got approval from my bank for the loan the next day but was told by Toyota that he couldn't do anything about providing me with any information until I got an account number from Toyota. I had to wait a week to get an account number from Toyota. When I got the number I called back to speak to the finance person about getting the warranty and the GAP cancelled. He said he would call me back, he did not. I called back to him again and he said he would check and call me back, he did not. I called again and he was in a meeting. Later I called and was told that he was not in today. I filed a complaint with the Toyota Corporate Complaint department via telephone. I got a call 2 days later from Larry at the dealership wanting to resolve the problem. Some additional problems I had that I also related in the phone complaint was non-receipt of my extra key, no emergency equipment, and no operators manual. They key and operators manual was known to be missing by the sales woman and I was promised that she would call me back on Tuesday, the next day she was working to let me know if she found the key, also she promised to get me an operators manual; of course no call. The manual was sent by the Toyota main office. The other issues and the warranty and GAP cancellation would have to be handled by the dealership. The complaint person did give me the number for the warranty and GAP office, I handled that myself. I had to drive back to the dealership, 30 miles away, to get the key made. I was promised that the emergency equipment would be ordered and I would be notified when they came in. I was never called. I called back about 1 month later, two months from purchase now, and Larry tells me he had no idea what I was talking about, who I was, and in fact, did not even work there at the time. I did finally get my equipment. This is a truly buyer be warned dealership. Accept no promises from these guys and check on everything before you sign anything. Do not allow them to push you into their loan source, 12.9% compared to 6.1%.
