The absolute worst. I had been leasing from them since 2001. At first, I really had very little need for any help, any customer service. There were a few problems with them not being able to get my insurance information even though I kept emailing to many different people there, mailed a copy and then finally had to come in and show them in person. My last two car experiences were the worst. I love Hondas and felt there might be some kind of loyalty since I had been leasing from them so long. Each of these last times I had to negotiate for hours regarding what I had to pay at signing as well as interest rates. I still do not know what they were doing. I have/had incredible credit yet they kept trying to put me in high interest rates with higher payments. However, the actions that have pushed me to write this are a couple really bad CS issues regarding both my last leases. I turned my car in yet kept getting tickets from Fastrak stating that I drove on the Bay Bridge avoiding payment. I had to seek them out to call for me and still never got word back. Three years ago. When I turned my Honda in this time (extremely early in March '16 though not due until Sept. and had to pay off the rest of the loan because I moved) I mentioned the tickets and was guaranteed not this time. Three tickets later, I tried leaving messages and even sent them to the manager. Finally I had to write the General manager. Back and forth after a few communications, he never returned my emails or calls. Now, I have received a bill for registration from DMV. I have sent 2 detailed emails and asking for proof of the return. I do not remember getting a copy so I have made the request. Nothing! Go to another dealer. Not worth it.

I needed a burnt out tail light replaced and had questions about a recall notice I received. I scheduled an appointment online quickly and easily for exactly the time that worked for me, and it was confirmed right away. When I arrived there was a huge line, but everyone kept me posted on how long it would take. Bobby handled my account and explained everything and looked up all the recall information for me. He was very friendly and personable. Called me to update me when he said he would, and had my car ready on time.Service here was great and convenient, as usual.

For the past six weeks, I have seen the trouble lights come on and off. It usually are the VSA light and the BRAKE systems warning lights. I decided that it's best that to bring the car in for a diagnostics review.

I found some small scratches after the service of back up sensor installation. I found out those issues after I wash my car the next day. Other than that the service is good.

My Honda doesn't need servicing very often, but when it does, SF Honda always makes me happy. They have convenient hours, and an easy to get to location using public transportation. Their service consultants are friendly and competent, and always explain fully what they are going to do and why, what they will charge me, and when my car will be ready for me to pick up. My car is always ready on time, and runs great after their service. So why do I like SF Honda Service? It's reliable, like my beloved Honda.

What I like the most about Honda service is that all you have to do is drive your car in and they have everything on the computer. They don't overdo the service items because it's all according to your mileage.

The nice folks at SF Honda know my car, advise me what needs doing, what I can put off till next time, and do the work well. Cost is usually about the same as the estimate, and they always communicate quickly and clearly.

Car was misfiring and had it towed to this Honda dealership. Service rep Tommy quickly diagnosed my car and gave me the correct estimate. He also dealt with my 3rd party warranty coverage. Quick turnaround and notified me of completion. Will do business with again. Thanks!

Brought my car in for routine service and left with a brand new issue leaving my car dead the very next day. Condescending, rude and unhelpful. The car should not have been given back to me in the condition it was in. They refused to acknowledge that they could have caused a problem and refused to take a genuine look at the car to figure it out but offered to sell me new parts--which another specialist has confirmed the car doesn't need and would not fix the issue.

I can trust that SF Honda will do a thorough job of looking over the car and doing a good job of diagnosing the problem. Over the years, SF Honda has fixed and adjusted a few minor things for free for me! I walk out of there always feeling relieved that my "baby" is up and running. Bobby Santos is always calm when listening to my frantic concerns about my car. He provides guidance on what needs to be checked and fixed. DT

Went in for a dead battery and an oil change, plus two new tires. Called Bobby on a busy Saturday morning to see if by chance they had any availability. He made time for us and got us squared away. He also went the extra mile to check on the warranty status for our dead battery, saving us over $120 in the process. I would highly recommend San Francisco Honda, and Bobby Santos - they are great!

Brought my 2007 Accord in for a recall part replacement. All staff involved were customer friendly, courteous, efficient and timely. Everyone were great, from the phone call reservationist, the person calling to remind me of my appointment,, the person who wrote up the order upon arrival, the cashier person who made my local shuttle service and finalized my paperwork, the shuttle driver and the person who brought my car back to the lobby. Everything went better than clockwork since my service took less time than expected. Thanks for the attention and complimentary car wash making my car look clean in this drought environment.

I got my 2008 Honda Civic LX from SF Honda on April of 2014. Sure they're very good at what they do, I was able to get the car even though my credit score was very low, they found me Wells Dealer Services who gave me an APR of 10.99%. And the SF Honda Manager Mr. Mamedov gave me a morale boost by saying "come back to me after 6 months of good paying record, I'll help you refinance your car at a lower rate to lower your monthly payment". After they delivered my car that day, the car agent Mr. Jerry Melo, whom I asked for the car manual (book) and the spare key told me they're all in the globe box of the car, of course they should be there. But no they're not there, I called him and emailed him, finally he emailed back saying that my spare key "will be ready" in a few days and that I will receive my car manual in a couple of weeks by mail. Today, after one year and 9 months of good paying record, I only got my spare key. Six months to my car loan I emailed Mr. Mamedov and all he told me was to open an account with SF Fire Credit Union and after 30 days contact him again and will start refinancing with SF Credit. I never heard from him again. I never got my car manual. I'm still paying at 10.99%. I talked to SF Credit myself and they can only refinance my car if I paid off a large part of the loan because the loan is 100% over the current value of my car, same thing with Wells Fargo Dealer Services. Thanks Mr. Jay Mamedov and Mr. Jerry Melo for treating people in hardship who were just trying to make their lives better. However I still said yes, I'm recommending you, because after all this you got me a newer car and proved to myself that I can do better without more help from you.

I took my car to have the oil filter and oil change. also, the service consultant told me the battery wasn't charging so I had that changed. I've been taking my 1996 Honda Civic for years to the San Francisco Honda and they keep a very good maintenance record on what needs to be done. I like to thank the service maintenance crew and Bobby Santos service consultant for an excellent job.

I have been leasing honda civics for many years and it is always a pleasure to come in and start the process with very professional sales person (Jose Hangad), and on to complete the transaction with manager and others. It is both comfortable and never rushed and there is ample time to look at a wide selection and I recommend this to my friends as the way to go.

I had my 2007 Honda Accord for air bag recall also for maintenance service. they found that my front brake need service. I was given a decent price. all the works were finished in 3.5 hour. Although I could not make an online appointment for a recall, I called and the person who helped schedule my appointment was friendly and courteous. They called to tell me parts were delivered and to remind me when the appointment was. There is usually a bit of a wait when dropping off the car but is understandable in the early morning. Employees are courteous each time I have visited.

Came here for a quick oil change today as promised 1 hour turn around with car wash. After when back home wiping dry the car I noticed a dent on my right door. Called my service advisor right away and he asked me to drive the car back for him to see. After he looked at it all he said was the dent was not possible from them. I am pretty sure it is from them because i check my car every time when there is other car parked next to my car. First major dent on my new car sad!!!

I found them through a car price comparion shopping website. They were one of 4 dealers who make a bid for my business for a pruchase of a new Honda Accord EX-L. I also had other bids from a similar site as well. They were one of three dealers who were closer my home and I wanted to del with someone close. I counter their bid with one I thought was very low but to my surprise they accepted my offer and we arranged for a pick up within 7 or 8 days since I had to get all my fiances together since I ws paying cash. I told them I didn't want any of the dealers add ons which I knew were high profit margins for them. They told me no problem and the car would be ready. I went into the dealership and sat down and signed all the paper work and Mr.Melo showed me th caand show me some of the features and how they worked. During the process, they did offer me extended waranties and other dealer add on options if I wanted them, but there was no pressure to purchase at anytime. I was out the door in less then two hours. This was a dream buying experience.I did go to another dealer which was just a few miles from me and they wouldn't even try to match the offer. They had added over $2,000 of add on which I didn't want and they say if I wanted to buy a car from them, I had to bought the deal options. They didn't offer to try to fine a car for me that didn't have all those options. Two different experiences and both like night and day.

i really liked working with these guys; there were no games and no B.S.--they gave me a price via email and i went in and signed the paperwork that night. The car was delivered to me the next day, completely detailed and with a full tank of gas. It was a really good retail experience; felt more like i was buying a TV from Best Buy than a car from a dealership...

SF Honda: Please Avoid!I had a very negative experience with San Francisco Honda that I would like to relate. This last November (2010), I purchased a certified pre-owned 2009, black Honda Civic. Fourteen days after my purchase, I discovered something that looked like white dandruff or speckles covering extensively the hood, the roof, the trunk and also the fenders to some degree. I didnt notice it initially because the car was shined up in the dealership and with a lot of glare on the black surface it was difficult to notice without a close inspection. After having the car looked at by a detailer, two autobody places, and the dealership, the consensus was that the speckles were not on the surface of the car (i.e. blow over) but was damage to one of the layers of clear coat. Bear in mind, the car is a 2009, was less than a month in my possession, parked under a carport, I do not live near any heavy industry, I dont commute with it, it was Certified by Honda, and was still under the original factory warranty. And yet, SF Honda was VERY unhelpful. The Used Car Sales Manager, Igor, shrugged his shoulders, said the car was perfect before I bought it that I was fully responsible for the damage. He said that (paraphrasing) maybe I drove through a cloud of acid rain, you never know what can happen to paint. I later spoke with the General Manager, AJ, about my experience. He seemed apologetic and said Ill see what I can do for you. When I called him back a week later to follow up on our phone call, and to ask if Honda could help in any way financially for my trouble, he became impatient and upset, telling me (paraphrasing) I work for someone too. Were under no obligation to help.Meanwhile, in the two months since purchasing the car, I've made numerous calls to my insurance, missed work to have the paint inspected, taken time on weekends to have it inspected, and been on the phone several times with Honda of America and my insurance to try to explain my case. Now, three months later, Ive had the car completely repainted and I think my saga is finally coming to a close. If the billion dollar Honda Motor Corporation can't help a first time customer with a vehicle still under factory warranty, just two weeks after my first purchase, then I recommend you pass the buck to a dealership and a company that treats their customers with dignity and doesn't hang them out to dry or sells them "certified" cars with concealed defects. In summary: SF Honda is so focused on their bottom line theyve lost sight of the customer part of the equation. I dont trust SF Honda, and Ill never take any vehicle there again.

I will never go there again. I'd been taking my Hondas (now on #4) to SF Honda for servicing for years, but the last two experiences have been big downers compared to before; I don't know what's happened to them. The short-short version of the latest story is, they had my car for 5 days, charged me $145 for diagnostics because the oil can light had been flashing, told me (surprise surprise) that it needed an oil change, and DIDN'T CHANGE THE OIL. Also told me the air bag light was on because a seatbelt part was faulty (covered by warranty) and DIDN'T CHANGE THAT EITHER. The service guy, Bobby, either hung up on me, or simply didn't call me back after we got disconnected, but said that *I* hung up on *him*. When I finally got the service manager (after leaving 3 messages), he accused me of lying , and told me not to come back. Not that there was any danger of that. If you feel like being abused by service professionals (although there's nothing professional about these guys), by all means, visit SF Honda.

So I bring my CRV in the other day because I am hearing this strange noise when making turns. It was my first time coming to this dealer (just moved here) so I was not sure what I would get. What I got was great treatment and honesty. My service rep. had a technician drive in the carwith me to ensure he heard the noise I was hearing (really like that). After the drive, Bobby gaveme an estimate for inspection and I left my car, hoping that the news was not going to be toobad. Several hours later I got a call from Bobby. He told me that they determined the problem, the fluid for something in the back needed to be replaced. When I asked him how much it wasgoing to cost me to change this fluid, he advised me that he already did it. As I started to freakout thinking "here we go", he continued on that there was no cost, he was able to get Honda topay for it as goodwill since my car was just a year outside the warranty. What a great experience! Everyone there was really nice and professional, not what I expected froma dealer.

I believe that SF Honda is a business which is managed unethically. I have attempted to patronize them three times, and I am done now.My first experience was that they wanted to charge me several hundred dollars to perform an electronics diagnostic on my car when I brought it to them for a purely mechanical problem--a wobbly seat. They would not look at the seat without doing the diagnostic. I left, because this seemed highly unethical to me. I wish I had been wise enough not to go back. The second time, I brought it to them when the seatbelt warning light came on, a problem which my regular mechanic (whom I love) told me he couldn't fix because the system was sealed to everyone but dealers. That time, the service tech told me that either the main airbag computer was bad, or the passenger airbag sensor was bad. For some reason, they couldn't tell which one. He recommended that I replace both. I asked for an explanation for why both should be replaced if it might be only one bad part, and replacing only one at a time could have saved me several hundred dollars. He was unable to give me a satisfactory reason, and seemed to not even understand my question. That afternoon, I received a phone call from the service manager who had found the bad review I had written. I had been silly enough to use my real name. The manager was belligerent and did not seem to understand what the problem was with either of my previous experiences.Yesterday, I made an appointment by phone. I gave my name, and said I had been there before when asked. The appointment was for 9:30 this morning. This morning I drove by at 9:00. The service tech mentioned that he would have to speak to his manager for permission to service my car, since there was a note on my profile. He said I could leave the car and he would call me when his manager came into the office, which would probably be 9:30. I said fine, thanks and went to wait at a nearby coffee shop. At around 11:00 he called and said that his manager wasn't in yet. I went home on BART. As I was walking home from the BART station, he called again and told me that he was refusing service to me.I explained that I had made an appointment yesterday, and it would have been far preferable to give me this information at that time. I had wasted my time and missed an opportunity to select someone else to perform the work on my car. He was implacable. When I asked to speak to his manager, I was told that he would not speak with me.So, to summarize: San Francisco Honda seems to have a policy of requiring and/or encouraging their service department to perform irrelevant work at the expense of their customers. They also would rather bar a customer than attempt to salvage their reputation. And instead of just telling me no, they wasted a day for me.I realize this is a bit like "the food is terrible and the portions are too small" but this place is very convenient to get to, and therefore tempting. I imagine that their location is the major reason they have stayed in business this long. I urge you not to patronize them.I would not be surprised to learn that in addition to harassing reviewers who give bad reviews, SF Honda gives discounts to people who write positive reviews.

I bring my car there for convenience in San Francisco even though I went to Anderson Honda to buy my car. I had a suspension rattle after the first month of ownership and they replaced the rear shock. They kept my car overnight because the part was not available. The rattle was fixed under warranty, The car was still clean/new with no scratches. I pick up the car on the next late afternoon close to closing time.I notice a screw head indentation on my rear bumper as if they parked my car and backed it into another car, and there is an additional 8 miles on the car. Unfortunately, I had to leave for an appointment. I called them the next day (Saturday) and they won't claim responsibility as they said the car should have never left the dealer. What am I suppose to do as I had to be somewhere that night and it was already late. Also,, did they have to add so much mileage, as if they were using my car for joyrides? Anyway they suggest to bring it in the following Monday only to waste my time and say they are not responsible. On a recent visit where I brought the car in for a recall inspection, I get the car back in the late afternoon, this time missing my iPod. So they have a sign like any parking garage saying they are not responsible for theft of personal items. The iPod was in the glove box. Why are these losers looking for personal items when they should be focusung on the recall, which is a brake sensor. I didn't put the iPod by the back wheel? San Francisco Honda employs crooks.

My wife and I are having an absolutely horrendous experience with San Francisco Honda.
On November 13th, 2004, I believe San Francisco Honda may have committed fraud in the classic act of Bait and Switch. We requested a current offer listed on Honda.com, for a Honda Coupe LX. We were told we were getting that offer. We were lead to believe we would get nothing less then that offer, but yet we were not sold the car in that offer. Instead we were sold a cheaper car, under the claim that it was the same car we bargained for. The only reason we went to SF Honda, Internet Certified Dealership, was because of the online offer from the Honda Corporation, but the salespeople at San Francisco Honda switched the car listed with a cheaper model.

On three separate occasions, I have tried to quietly remedy this with San Francisco Honda. First, early morning November 14th, I spoke with the salesman who sold me the car, John Poole. John claimed there was nothing he could do to help or advise. When asked who could help, John referred me to Sales Manager Adam Guzman, who was not in at that time.

I returned again later that day to speak with Adam, again I was told there was nothing he could do to help or advise. When asked who in the dealership did have the authority to help, he referred me to the General Sales Manager, Steve Kerekesh, who was not in at that time.

I returned again a third time, November 16th, to speak with Steve Kerekesh. When meeting with Steve, I presented documentation on what had happened, proof of the current offer listed on Honda.com, which we requested. Plus proof of an exact match to the listed financial terms of that agreement. Steve tried repeatedly to forgo a calm, mannered discussion and instead attempted to hostilely engage me with belligerent accusations, and unwarranted aggression. The discussion ended unresolved, with Steve refusing several times to even look at my documentation or continue the discussion.

All my wife and I want, is to simply have the car we asked for and paid for. We are totally willing to accept that it may have been an honest mistake, on behalf of San Francisco Honda's salespeople, but they will not even discuss the circumstances with us in a civil manner.

I brought in my Accord for a service recall. BAD EXPERIENCE. Customer service was HORRIBLE. This is not my first bad experience here. They have often short changed service.

The service department was obviously rushed, many cars coming in, so we should cut them some slack...but... the "Customer Service" rep was still a blatantant ass. SF honda has ceased providing loaner cars, even as this repair was a recall. So, I had called American Honda ahead of time to ensure that I would have a loaner ready. The Service Rep claimed not to know anything about it, and told me that he was too busy to call AH to verify. He tried to pressure me to pay for a loaner from Hertz, and get reimburdsed later. Did anyone else buy a $28k car and get treated like a manufacturer recall was the CUSTOMER'S FAULT?!?! I asked him to call AH to verify, or I would. I was "on my own"! "Mr. Customer Service" took off, so I called on my cell. 30 minutes later, AH verified with him and another SR. Apparently AH had called it in, and my SR had dropped the ball. He acted like an ass for the rest of the interaction, like I had ruined his morning. I can be tough to handle when upset, too, I know- but I really tried to be cool headed. No customer deserves attitude. If I ever treated a client like that, I'd be fired. More importantly, fired or not, I know that acting that way would encourage my customer to go elsewhere. Well, Sparky, it worked! I'm gone!

It was more of the same at pickup. I had a question about one of the tasks performed under the recall, and the service desk referred me back to Mr. Friendly. He carefully explained the answer to my request for greater detail , twice : "It's part of the recall. It doesn't matter, it's part of the recall, don't worry about it."

I won't give that place another dime. I bought the car there, and I expect a hell of a lot more from a dealer that I spent $28k with. No need to kiss my feet, but I expect to have my questions answered in a civil way, and for a SR to make a decent effort to follow up on obligations made by his company. Walk away from a customer? treat me like an idiot and not answer simple, reasonable questions? Well, jackass, you just lost another customer. From my last three visits, what I've learned is that I can't count on them in a pinch, they aren't forthright, and they ask customers to bend to THEIR convenience. NOT a place to go for HELP.

Here's another gem in the history of our relationship: the last time I filled out a customer survey, I received a follow up phone call from an employee insisting that he had done okay and that I should have responded differently about him on my survey. Is it me, or is it odd to have an employee call a customer to complain about the customer's confidential survey response? what the #$%^?!?!??!!? So they hand an employee my review and then give him my phone number?!?!?! STELLAR CS practices. I guess that intimidating me will encourage me to give a better review next time?!?!?

If anybody can recommend a decent dealer or mechanic in the bay, or if SF honda cares to respond to my complaint, then please drop me an email at dc56997athotmail.com.

PS- a guy picking up his black S2000 right behind me freaked out too. I didn't see how it finished up, so I'll let him speak for himself ... but jeez, SF Honda- COME ON!!!!!!!

Watch out kids, if the customer service sucks when you're checking in.... don't expect it to get better.
