I have good credit. There's a reason for that. I went to my credit union, got approved for what I wanted, had a nice trade too. The salesman persisted I fill out ANOTHER credit app? " We will not be running your credit just pairing it to your current approval". BIG LIE!!! DO NOT BELIEVE THEM, I don't know about you but I don't like multiple inquiries on my credit report. I have good credit. I would have given good review but I just don't like people lying to me, especially in business. Shady tactics.

I purchased a 2019 Grand Cherokee from Portsmouth Used Car Center in May 2021. When I went to get it inspected I was informed that the tires had dry rot. After much back and fourth between the tire company and Portsmouth Ford the tire company partially discounted the tires but it still cost me over $700. I reached out to Portsmouth because I was very unhappy with spending that money on a new car. The sales manager Jeremy said he would work on trying to reimburse me, stating he would talk to the owners. I am now having another issue with my car. They told me twice that I was all set to pick up a rental car at an enterprise location. When I went to the location enterprise had no reservation under my name and no cars available. After contacting Portsmouth Ford again, they told me they could get me in a car at the Portsmouth enterprise instead. Portsmouth Ford prides themselves on “no back and fourth” but I have gotten nothing but a run around.

Disclaimer, I was not the one buying the but went to help with my friend and her daughter, honestly, to make sure the were not being taken advantage of. They had almost exactly what we wanted, super professional and straight forward. Great price for the car, super low fees and none of the sales tricks. Really solid dealership, that gets down to the deal fairly and smoothly.

Excellent experience with Derek and Jeff. No false promises, no pressure and two real professionals. I had been car shopping since the beginning of June, so to have such a pleasant experience at the end of August after many fair to extremely disappointing experiences was a real pleasure. I will consult with Derek first the next time I am in the market.

This was the first car I've purchased, and the staff were all helpful guiding me through the process, and they were able to answer all of my questions about the car, warranty, and financing terms. When I finally signed the documents, I was able to do so with confidence.

My beloved Ford focus was recently totaled and I found myself in the unfortunate position of having to purchase a replacement car. I personally consider purchasing a car just slightly above the process of sticking my hand in a running blender. I am a "Ford guy" so I knew that I was looking for a replacement Ford. I visited two dealerships in southern New Hampshire and made the decision to purchase a Ford Fusion. I understand the difference between a good value and the lowest price. I want to receive the most possible years and miles of service for my car purchase dollar. Looking at used vehicles compared to new vehicles I did not feel that the amount of savings offset the amount of miles that were already on the used car options. Portsmouth Used Car Center had what appeared to be "Used" cars there were practically brand-new. When I say brand-new I mean this model year with less than 100 miles. When I visited the dealership I was greeted by Derek Hurley. He was pleasant and helpful. At no point did he ask me any of the questions that I expect from a car salesman and generally result in an uncontrollable eye twitch. He simply asked me what I was looking for and how we could help me. He was perfectly willing to take the time to review all of their available options without any pressure whatsoever. He helped me narrow down my potential choices to a small handful of vehicles. He did not pressure me to make a purchase. I asked Derek to offer me any plausible explanation as to how they can have all of these seemingly brand-new cars as used. He offered me a number of explanations that made perfect sense to me. I decided to provide him with a deposit on one of the vehicles and told him I would get back to them the following day after taking time to discuss the matter with my wife and pray on the decision. He assisted me with that process and never made me feel pressured. The following day I contacted Derek and told him that I wanted to proceed forward with the purchase and that if at all possible I would like to pick up the car later that evening. He made sure that the car was completely prepped, thoroughly inspected, and was waiting for me when I got there. All of the paperwork was prepared and the entire process took less than 10 minutes once I arrived. I am totally pleased with the buying experience in the value. I purchased a "used" current model year (2015) Ford Fusion with 36 miles on it. I purchased the vehicle for thousands of dollars less than the sticker price at the other Ford dealers that I reviewed. On top of that I got some extra features that I would not have gotten if I had purchased new. BTW.... When I called Sirius Radio to transfer my subscription for my total vehicle to the new one they offhandedly mentioned that my car was originally ordered by Enterprise. It would seem that it is not uncommon for car rental agencies and large corporations to order fleet vehicles from Ford and auction them back with little or no use. I would recommend that anyone that is interested in purchasing a new or used Ford vehicle give serious consideration to making their purchase from Derek and the folks at Portsmouth Used Car Center. We went in to the dealership not exactly knowing what we wanted and by walking us through every detail of any car we wanted to see, Joel put us in a beautiful 2013 Ford Escape and we are beyond thrilled with the vehicle and service. I have always received excellent service at Portsmout Kia's service department. I live in Cannda and make the drive to Portsmouth because of how great I'm treated. I would normally not post on here, but felt compelled to do so after last week. I had an emergency arise and needed to leave the state and make about a 1,500 mile trip. I was in need of an oil change and called Kia and told them my situation and was told to get there as soon as I could. To make a long story short, I got there about 30 minutes before closing. Buddy and Steve were the only ones there and got it done right away and without any "attitude" I would expect from some places coming in that close to closing time. They treated me right and showed compassion for my situation. Buddy and Steve were life savers that night and earned my respect. Thanks Dave. Thanks Will.

I found a car I liked on cars.com at Portsmouth Used Car Super Store, so I contacted them through the website, and shortly after I got an email from Josh. I set up an appointment with Josh to go see the car, and all was good. I get an email about an hour later saying that the car is not at their store yet, it was bought at an auction in NY, and it wont be in for about a week, but he let me know that they have other cars I should still come check out. I didnt respond right away, because I wanted to think the situation over. So a couple of hours later I get a call from Josh, saying that he has had a lot of calls on the car I originally contacted them about, and since the car wasnt there yet, they would be willing to take a $500.00 refundable deposit on the car to make sure I would be the first one to look at the car when it arrived at their location. I agreed to do this, and shortly after I gave Josh all of the information he needed, I got a call from the sales person Joel, he wanted to make sure he had my right email, and wanted to me to send him over information on my car that I was going to trade in, and then he would send over a purchase and sales agreement for the car, which was subject to my trade once they go to actually see it. So after getting all of the paper work signed and sent back to him, I was told the car would be at their location in 10 days. So little after a week went by I checked in with Joel to see if they had an exact date of when the car would be in so I could make plans, because I live about an hour and a half away from there. He said he wasnt sure yet when the car was going to be in, but assured me that we were the only ones that were going to be seeing the car as soon as it came in, and if my trade was in order we would be leaving with the new car when it was ready. So a couple of days later on Monday the 22nd I got a call from Joel saying that car would be in on Tuesday, and it had to go through their service department, and he wanted to make an appoint for me to come in on Saturday the 27th at 9:00am, so I agreed to this. My wife and I drove up to Portsmouth a day early, just to enjoy the city, and stay overnight since we love it there anyway, so the next day we show up to the dealership at 8:40 in the morning, and as we walk in the door Dave Bettinger came over to greet us. I told him that I had an appointment with Joel to have my car checked out, and purchase a car that he was holding for me. At that point Dave told us that Joel has left the dealership, because of personal reasons, but would be happy to help us. So we go over to his desk, and tell the car we had put money down, and showed him the signed agreement, and told us that the car had been sold. He told us that his general manager told Joel to call us, and tell us that we had to come in that day or they were going to sell the car on us, but Joel never called us to tell us this. So Dave told us to hold on for a second, and he grabbed his finance manager to come over and talk to us, the finance manager told us that he saw the agreement that we signed, and didnt know why they sold the car on us, but they would take care of us. So he sends Dave back over, and Dave also tells us that he will take care of us, and also that they would take care of us on our trade too. So we went outside to look at other cars they had, and narrowed it down to two cars we liked both the same year, and model, just different colors. Dave told us he would talk to his manager Caleb Wilson, and see what they can do for us. After about 20 minutes Dave comes back out to us, and tells us that their prices are non-negotiable, and there wouldnt be anything they could do for us on the cars. We then asked him why he told us he would take care of us, and keep us there for over an hour if this was true, and why did his finance manager also tell us they would take care of us. He said that his finance manager was new, and didnt know what he was talking about, and that he didnt tell us he would take care of us, but he thought the right thing would do would be for them to help us out, and that he wanted us to talk to Caleb directly to see if he would help us. So we go back to Daves desk, and wait for Caleb to come over to talk to us. He tells us that he sees there was a disconnect somewhere, and for us to find another car and he will see what he can do. We told him that we found two cars, and Dave just got through telling us that he talked to you (Caleb) and that you couldnt do anything for us. So Caleb looked at the cars again, and said there wasnt anything he could do for us, and it was Joshs fault, because he wasnt supposed to take money over the phone, and he has been fired for doing this with other people, and it was also Joels fault as well, because he should have known that they arent supposed to do this. So an hour and a half later we got my keys for my car, and left without a sorry.

Went with my wife and 3 children looking for a used car. They had a few different cars that we were interested in. They gave us the keys and told us to bar a good ride. We were able to narrow down the vehicle we wanted to a Ford Expedition EL. They had one but it wasn't the interior color we wanted. Instead of trying to pressure me to buy something I didn't want they took my name and told me if they find something they would call me. They had a great selection of cars at very competitive prices

Drove over an hour and a half to deal with a specific person and was directed to another . Upon arrival excited to find the car I wanted, discovered the Honda was leaking power steering fluid. The car was $269.00 over market value and was not taken into consideration on the final price. The manager was rude, bottom line. With my excellent credit rating, I was told my payments would be at a certain rate and I agreed to that, when it came time to sign, the manager informed me that it would be higher, I spoke to him about this and he shrugged me off. I walked out very disappointed and not looking forward to my long drive home with no car, the one I was totally willing to purchase. The deal was pretty much broken over a meer 300.00 difference. Did I say the manager was rude? I have no problem buying elsewhere, watch out for the sneaky switch. Expected a call back the next day from the salesman (who was nice to deal with) but he would probably be fired for talking to me again. In this economy, prices are and should be a. Little flexible and reading other reviews, I am not the only one who was put in this situation. If ey called me back with even a slight appology, I would consider buying but in this day business , business ethics are not up to par in the car world. It is compromise and humility that matter.
