I came in for service when my Clubman threw a transmission code. The service department is incredibly friendly and helpful which you don’t find everywhere. Matt helped me juggle my insurance company and they’ve done a really good, thorough job with my car. Very happy I went here!

Recently bought a car (2012 Fiat 500) that had its last oil change through this dealership and I had to use a breaker bar to remove the drain plug, it was also partially stripped, from being over-tightened I assume, so I had to order a new one. The oil filter housing also had a pinched O-ring causing it to seep oil. They need to train their express/lube technicians better! There’s no reason for a drain bolt to be that tight, ever 🥴

I just finally wrapped up the purchasing process at Mini of Portland, and it’s safe to say that I definitely recommend them, even as an out-of-state buyer (east coast). I had an excellent salesperson, Kimberly, who answered every one of my questions and made this process all the more smooth. Bryn in financial services was also great, and was quick to inform me once everything was purchased. Though the process took a while (at no fault to them, that’s simply the way things are when buying a car 3,000 miles away), I highly recommend Mini of Portland. Their team is great, and I’m very happy with my new Mini me.

They don't want my business and I really tried to give it to them. I contacted them twice asking about used cars. I wanted to see pictures since none of their listing have any. Yet even though I was assured someone would send send some to my e-mail it never happened. So I am getting a Mini from another dealer. They sent pictures and made an effort. I live far away. So I needed to do shopping remotely. I would be passing their shop picking up my Mini from a competitor I thought maybe I would give them some parts business. So I spoke with someone over chat to request what Mirror caps they stocked. They assured me someone would get that information to my e-mail but they didn't. So what if a customer isn't in the building they ignore them? It is no way to get people to come in. Guess I'll buy parts online. What choice do I have they don't want my money.

We found the perfect used Mini Cooper S on their website which is very user friendly and informative. We are not from the Portland area and spoke with Patrick Walker several times to check the status of the car before driving to the dealership. Pat is a very cheerful personality and clearly enjoys sharing the fun of Mini driving with everyone. All of the associates at the dealership were friendly and made sure to introduce themselves and congratulate us on becoming part of the Mini family. Since I am located out of Portland, when I found little things that caught my attention or needed to be checked, I waited for the yearly checkup/oil change. Hopefully with the new expanded service area there will easily be people available to look over and take care of various items when a car is brought in for "just an oil change". Perhaps when the appointment is made some of the items can be registered at that time. Everything that I needed to take care of was done. I was treated well but 5 hours waiting around is a long time.

I've been a Mini customer since 2005 when they first hit town down on Jefferson and the dealer was Rasmussen. Lithia has come a long way with it and I see Minis everywhere now (plus they have more models to offer). We started with Jarid, then DJ and now Allen. There's some comfort in the continuity of staff too. Treat your staff and customers well and they remain loyal.

Unfortunately all this particular dealership cares about is REVENUE instead of customer retention. I have owned Volvos for years, and any time I've had a question regarding a part or an issue, Volvo has been overly helpful and informative. My husband bought a mini cooper clubman. We are having an issue with the fuel system and are having such a difficult time finding any answers. Even finding the proper part is a treasure hunt, and an expensive one at that. We call to ask if there is a regulator built into the particular fuel pump, and all we get is you'll have to bring it in for diagnostics. UNBELIEVABLE! The parts counter was more helpful. We will sell our mini once it's fixed so we never have to spend a dime on their worthless service or product. Really unfortunate.

Kirstie Gebhart is the perfect representative....low key (which is hugely important to me), did not push me at any point, and was very well informed. All the staff I dealt with were professional, courteous, and gave me great service. The only reason I did not put 5 stars on my rating is that it took a long, long time for them to get things printed out for me so I spent time playing Word on my phone to pass the time. But this really is a great dealership. I usually buy BMWs, but I think I'm a convert to Mini of Portland.

Purchased a 2016 Clubman which included trading in a near new vehicle. The Clubman fits our lifestyle exactly, unlike our trade-in. Our purchase experience was very comfortable even though the process was quite lengthy. Our sales consultant and finance officer were both on top of things. We would have given all items 5 stars except that we don't much like extended hagling over $ and we found the facility to be a bit cramped. However, all things considered, we were pleasantly surprised.

From my "just looking"- to my test drive- to ordering "my MINI what a great experience. Bradley O'NeilWas so knowledgeable on all aspects of the car to where I could have trust and she has a great personality. The test drive was fun with the mini and Bradley provided me with brochure and encouraged me to online create my car, a few weeks later after building the car she reviewed it with me and I hit the go button to order mini my way. When the car arrived and was ready for me again Bradley did a great job of welcoming me back to the dealership and DJ made the financial and closing of the deal very pleasant. Steve was there making sure I had plenty of time for questions and signing. All three worked with me after closing to make sure I got to drive Miss Mini home that night.

September 2015 I purchased my Mini Cooper from Portland Mini from Bradley Oneil after she found my perfect car. I'm still loving every minute of driving and unfortunately had an incident. I went in to look at a Volkswagon GTI and was set on purchasing it, but I ended up in a financial situation that made the car a bit out of reach. Even despite the difficulties, Safder worked with me to find a car that would fit my needs, desires, and also my budget. He suggested many automobile options and was helpful in the process of narrowing down what I wanted and what would serve my needs. We really just stopped in to get some ideas and get more insight on Mini. We were also trying to feel like we had salvaged a wasted trip from Yakima when the used Mini we came to see from a small dealer near Salem turned out to be a total dud. We didn't think we would find something that both fit our budget and that we loved but we were wrong and pleasantly surprised. We had to actually choose between cars in fact. Safder was a great help and was understanding of our situation. I think we had more factors playing into our decision than most folks do but he was patient and helpful with weighing pros and cons. It was a long day for us but worth the effort. We just wish we'd gone there first.

I called Mini of Portland to make a service appointment and asked for Brandon Maggs. He is my "go to guy" He was able to get me in at a time and day +that worked perfect for me. I live 230 miles from the dealership so it is not an simple thing to arrange.. We had previously discussed installing XM Sat in my 2015 Mini. We finalized on doing that and he gave me the exact cost.. He said that he hoped to have my vehicle ready at closing but advised me that there is always the possibility of an unforeseen delay. Having prior experience with this possibility, I made a reservation at a nearby hotel. It did turn out that a software download did not go as hoped so my Mini would not be ready for the next morning. Brandon kept me informed of the process. I am completely satisfied with the service at Mini of Portland. They go out of their way to accommodate me and also have a car available. Several of the service people have been there for a long time and I find that comforting.

Great service department. I would recommend Mini of Portland for Mini service over independent garages because I think the techs know the cars and they have access to parts and resources that others may not have. Also, the dealer has the tool that reads the key to find out what the car needs. I doubt if independents have it. Service was completed when promised and I am pleased..

Safder was our sale person and he did a great job finding us the right car for this purchase with the quality and price that we are willing to pay for. Our visit was very friendly, relaxing and we didn't feel being pressured to make a purchase on a car that wasn't right for us. Went in to discuss the possibility of adding Paddles shifters to my 2013 MINI JCW. After meeting with the Parts Manager and Service Manager it was decided that MINI of Portland would have to submit the P-UMA to MINI. The parts were ordered same day and Jarid who is my Service Advisor kept me informed of the progress on the parts. All of the parts finally arrived and the service appointment was scheduled to get everything installed on June 18th.

Bryn was phenomal to work with! He was so patient during the entire purchasing process. He made sure I found the perfect car- even if it meant test driving 15 cars in a row on a 100 degree day to find the perfect one that really suited my needs. He even made sure the AC was on and seats were cooled, and had an ice bottle of water before I test drove them- now that's what I call service!! He was very genuine and honest throughout the process which I truly appreciated. He was incredibly knowledgable and still continues to check on me even after purchasing my car from MINI. Steve and Salah were also so incredibly accommodating to my budget and really worked with me to help me understand every financial aspect. GO BRADLEY! I called MINI and Bradley answered. I may have asked some stupid questions, but she answered them. She even went to the car itself and checked on it. Nobody I contacted, except her, did that. She even went the extra 2 miles and helped me save on shipping by helping me with a plane ticket. Love ya, Bradley. Just goes to show, even us 60 year old widows have money that is just as good as anyone else's. (I live in Boise and have been searching for my car, calling many dealers. Sadly, I called 4 other dealers and all discounted me as if my money wasn't any good. I would want some answers to my questions. I came into the dealership to purchase a vehicle, took it to my mechanic as agreed, and came back ready to buy after a noise issue was resolved. I emailed bob stating that I would like to buy the car, he acknowledged my email saying that the car would go in for repairs and than be ready within a couple of days for purchase. When I contacted bob again about coming in for paperwork, he stated that the car was sold out from under me on his day off and no further explanation. The dealership stated that since there was no deposit down, they did not hold the car. I can understand this business practice, but bob dropped the ball and did not give me the impression a deposit was needed to hold the car that Even after I emailed him expressing interest in the purchasing the car. The sales manager knew about my interest and did not bother to explain what was going on before selling the car to the interested party. Horrible customer service by the dealership and Bob showed little concern when the topic was brought up taking 2-3 hours to respond to my phone call asking what had happened. Derek never returned my phone call, and Steve when addressed did apologize but offered little compassion throughout the whole transaction. In the end, the car was sold and there was little that they dealership could do to correct their actions taken, but leaving me out during and after the process showed that they are only concerned about the bottom line and not the customer's experience. I will not recommend the dealership when asked where to buy a new or used car and word of mouth is typically the best and cheapest form of advertising. Too bad for them.

DJ is not only friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and helpful. He is also very much available and puts himself in the buyer's shoes! DJ shares his number with his customers and is available via text. This made communication a LOT easier than it had been for me with other representatives at MINI (Today is my day off, I was sick, I'm with a customer, etc). He was prompt to respond and gave me weekly updates of my custom car as it was being built and shipped over seas.He took the time to take me to the warehouse to check out a ton of cars, sat patiently with me while I picked each feature in my car (providing advice with his personal experience), and he showed me how to use every button and every feature on the car once I received it and even helped me configure it to what most people like to have on their cars.He also fought to get me multiple discounts and gave me advice on what features were probably more worth it for my particular usage. Felt like having a friend in the dealership helping you be the happiest you can be with your car, without trying to take advantage of you or trying to get you to overspend.Salah was fantastic as well in looking out for me and finding solutions that fit me as a driver while at the same time giving me advice on extras that would be overkill and a waste of money. They were kind and truly provide amazing customer service. Kudos to both! For making us feel like we have friends at MINI of Portland we can trust. Jarid Perry is such a wonderful person to work with. He is so very helpful and so pleasant. I brought my Mini in for some service and for detailing. I have dogs, and the rear of the car was Jack Russell terrier hairy. He tried to politely tell me that it was going to take a bit longer than the usual detailing. I apologized and told him I was expecting a longer time frame and a higher cost. Jarid was so very gracious. He has a super sense of humor, too. When I picked up the car it was flawless. I could see that everyone really cared. In addition my antenna had been stolen, and Jared just gave me an old one of his. Jarid and his associates went way above typical servicing. When contacting Mini I always ask for Jarid. He's an asset to this business. Thank you!

I was a little nervous about buying my first car, but Peter made it a fun and enjoyable experience! Being young and female, I didn't want to be taken advantage of so I had done all my research before stepping foot in the dealership. He made me feel comfortable instantly, and answered all of my many questions. He brought up details I hadn't thought of, and together we customized the perfect Mini to meet my needs. When my Mini finally (okay, so I'm incredibly impatient) arrived at the dealership, he set her up in the showroom for me under all the lights. Buying my first car was a big deal to me, and he went above and beyond to make it a special experience. Leasing made the most sense for me, but after 3 years, I was so in love with my Mini, I ended up buying it. When I went back in to meet with the finance manager, Peter was there for me again. He reassured me that I was making the smart choice, and we had a blast doing the paperwork...something I never thought I'd say. He even made me a playlist of new tunes for the road! I hope he never leaves because I plan on buying all my future Minis from him!

My appointment was made a month in advance for my 2007 mini. They said it was going to take the whole day, so I got up early on a Saturday morning to take it in. I had some recall work for the passenger side airbag done to my car. I got a free loaner for the day. They call me and say they can't get it done until Monday because they are backed up. I said that would be a problem because I am a nanny and I have the car seats in my mini.....luckily my services were not needed that Monday (as a nanny), so I called them back letting them know that that was okay, on the contention that my car be done Monday early afternoon as to avoid the horrible traffic going home. They said, "no problem."So I call in the afternoon on Monday, my car is not done. They said around 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. they'd have it "washed" and done. They were still backed up. So now I get to drive home in the traffic....yeah!I was a little upset. I didn't feel like I was a priority. It is not my fault that they scheduled too many cars to be worked on. My appointment was made a month in advance. On the positive side, they found other issues on my car that needed to be looked into. I got one of those fixed (the most important one), and I was grateful for that.I'm disappointed in their scheduling process. It could have been a REAL inconvenience for me if I did work on Monday, then I would have needed to drive back to the dealership to get those car seats out, then drive back home. It was already an inconvenience for me that I waited all day on my day off for my car to get done.I've always had a good experience with this dealership. This is the first time I'm disappointed. I have been so happy about this place, I convinced my husband to buy a mini clubman last month. Now I'm thinking not so confident in them anymore.As a customer, I really did not feel like a priority. Please, don't over schedule at the service department.AND I need to add.....MY CAR DID NOT GET WASHED, as promised....after all that. Wow..I took it to a car wash near my home.---next day-------I would like to follow up and say that Brandon from the device department called me after I wrote this review, and was very apologetic. It made a huge difference in my opinion, and I changed my answer to "yes" I would recommend them, and put another "star" for the follow up. Thank youAfter Brandon called to apologize, Rory, the service manager, called and also apologized. Rory also wanted to do something for me to make up for the inconvenience. He offered to detail the interior and exterior of my car, and 10 percent off for my next service. I am extremely happy with how this dealership handled my situation. My husband and I went to Mini of Portland to test drive a 2015 Countryman on the referral of a friend.We met with salesman Allen Snyder, and were blown away by his friendliness, forthrightness, and knowledge of the car we wanting. The test drive was fun and relaxed. In fact, the whole experience was very relaxed and no pressure. He showed us personal pictures of trips he had taken in his Mini, and he had firsthand knowledge of how the car handled in snow and ice. When my husband and I decided to get a new car, we opted to go for something fun, cool and fast. No brainer it was going to be a Mini, but still we checked some other options. Car shopping can feel a little intimidating at times, but the minute we walked into Mini of Portland, we knew things were different. Peter welcomed us, quizzed about which model we were interested in, and before we knew it, we were driving around Beaverton. That was fun, cool and fast. We talked a bit more and then we left, we had to sleep on it, that's just how we are wired. But walking out, we were smiling; we knew it was going to be a Mini. In the following days, conversations would start with "so when are we going to see Peter?". He became the trusted doctor delivering the baby. Finally one morning we decided it was time to go see Peter, and so we did. We walked in and asked for him, and here is why: he is fun, cool and fast. Just like your Mini. He gets his customers' needs and quickly adapts and answers any question, making the process really simple. He makes you feel as part of the family. Mini Of Portland: Staff Is Amazing. Jarid P was the main reason I returned for my next Mini from the experience he's provided for George, my First Mini. But let's be clear, I love Mini's. All Minis. Little Stuffed Plush Minis, Remote control Minis, T-Shirt Mini's, Mini shoes, Mini Dog Toys, Mini pull-back cars, Mini Model cars, Mini hats Mini Coasters Mini Collars Mini.... Anyway, I Love the brand in general of Mini. I went to Mini of Portland unsure of which model to select, because as aforementioned, I love them all. Peter (the poor unsuspecting soul) was who got my request by Email through www.Miniofportland.com, and answered some questions before I arrived at the dealership. When I arrived, we hit it off pretty well. He has a Clubman named Laguna (I think her name is) And we discussed Her and George at length. One of the biggest problems with me is my attention span while shopping. My Fiancee States I "Shop Like A Gnatt". Meaning, There appears to be no set forth pattern nor logical shape or point of reference to my shopping other than it makes his feet hurt and his head ache. Peter put up with my "Gnatt" shopping for eight hours. I looked individually at every single Mini on the lot. Twice. There's probably over 200+ Mini's on the lot. You may think this an exaggeration, but I assure you, I am not. Ask any witnesses that were there that day. The guy never faltered. When I finally made an actual decision, as we were walking in to start signing, I changed my mind. Peter kept smiling and never let on that he was frazzled. FANTASTIC Group of people over there. Even if you're not a Mini Fanatic like me, Trust me when I say you're doing yourself a favor by at least chatting with these guys. Look at a few. Test drive Just One, and You'll Understand what the Mini Fuss is all about. ;)

One week ago, we began our search for just the right automobile to replace my husband's little red Celica. This was just to be the start of the search. We had gathered photos and car faxes as far as 200 miles from us north and south and had one day to "check a few out" until I returned from a trip. We got calls back from Peter and DJ and then they emailed us the carfax and the documents from the thorough safety inspection including all the work that had been done at their dealership. None of the other dealerships put that much effort into getting back to us. So, even though it was a stormy day and Portland was 2 1/2 hours away, we headed out to Mini of Portland. Needless to say, we were treated with such honesty and forthrightness, the car was exactly as it was described,and we became the proud owners of a Toyota Solara convertible. What an amazing group of people to work with. Thank you Peter and DJ and Bradley for making the experience so painless. We will come to you first in the future when I get to replace my car! It didn't feel like he was trying to throw a bunch of curves in or secrets. He was straightforward with all the cars and very patient. I would say his patience was the best part. I had been semi addressing and then putting off getting a new car for at least a year, during which time I experienced the "old school" hard sell, delay tactics, and assumption that I knew nothing about what kind of driving experience I was looking for. I restarted my search a couple weeks ago with the goal of doing as much online / remotely so as to save myself the time and experience of the old fashioned way while getting the car I really wanted.I had three different emails out to dealers just to see if this could be done, and Peter was not only the first to respond but provided me with an accurate quote within two hours of my message. Plus this was for the car I really wanted, so win win! We had further back and forth via emails and he did a great job responding to my questions, putting together the financing, and taking a down payment. All without asking me to spend time away from my work schedule to go out to the dealership.We made an appointment for the final signing, and when I met Peter I was so happy to find a fellow enthusiast who really understands a love of driving and the history of design development from the BMW and Mini teams. That meant that all my time spent with the inevitable signing of paper was fun and interesting. I prepared my wish list ahead of time and arrived at Mini of Portland prepared to order my Mini and wait until it arrived.We began working with Peter on getting the order in the system and he actually gave great advice to take some items off my list. Instead of a high pressure sales experience, Peter was actually the complete opposite. He helped to tailor the car to what I was looking for as opposed to adding unnecessary items to make it more expensive.When making one particular suggestion he said that he had a car on the lot that had that particular item already installed. As we were looking at that car and that option, we realized that this car was almost exactly what we were ordering. 2 years ago I bought a Mini Cooper to use for city driving. It was easy to park and got good gas milage. The car has less than 17,000 miles of use. On March 19, 2015 I noticed that the transmission was slipping when shifting into first and second gears. On March 24 I brought it in for service. The following day I received a call from service agent Jarid Perry. He explained to me that despite the fact my transmission warranty covers 3 years or 36,000 miles, MINI of Portland believes that the "unusual" nature of the mechanical failure must have been caused by the "driver profile." In short, because it was so rare for a clutch to wear at 16,800 miles it certainly can't be a mechanical issue. Oddly enough, I took the car in for an annual service in February 2015 where the dealer didn't seem to find any evidence of "driver profile" damage to the transmission. Needless to say I was shocked that the car was not covered and even more shocked that MINI of Portland would not honor its warranty commitment. It didn't matter. MINI would not pay for the repair. If I wanted my 2 year old car to be fixed I had to pay for it myself. Call me old fashioned but it seems to me that if you sell a new car with the promise that wear on a transmission will be protected up to 3 years or 36,000 miles then a car with 2 years, 17,000 miles and a faulty transmission should be covered under that covenant.

In the past, Car dealerships sent me into panic attacks. Even though we have come a long way, as a woman at a car dealership I always felt like bait. I felt like I had to bring my A game, know exactly what I wanted and be tough, strong and relentless in getting it. That was until I came to Mini of Portland. After reading reviews on this site I went to Mini of Portland and sought out Peter Hisey. Simply put I wanted the best and I do rely on reviews because they come from real people. So I went in wanting a red convertible Mini Cooper, because I am breast cancer survivor, a middle aged Mom and I wanted to look hot in a little red car. I met Peter and he started asking me questions. Why a convertible? Why Red? What do you like to do for fun? How often will you drive and where? Whats your favorite color? Then he asked my daughter. Does you Mom like to have her hair flying around in the wind? I was skeptical, At first I thought he was trying to talk me out of my little red convertible because he didn't have one and he wanted desperately to sell me something a out on the lot, then I realized he's just trying to get to know me. He wanted to put me in the car and I would really enjoy, not one that I would like for about five minutes and tolerate for 5 years. The truth is the color red bothers me, if fires me up and in someway kind of stresses me out, I don't feel peaceful wearing or driving red anything, and the convertible? I am the polar opposite of someone who would drive a convertible, if my hair were to fly all over the place in the wind I'd have to pull off the side of the road put it in a ponytail and then I would probably be cursing a convertible decision and have the hood up the whole time I own the car.Peter just wanted me happy and that day I walked out of the mini dealership what a beautiful light blue hardtop Mini Cooper. It was gorgeous and the perfect car for me.Our experience that day was so amazing that a few months later we took my English husband back to get his own mini. He had been in America a long time he deserved his own Mini, so we called that Peter told him what we wanted and by the time we got there Peter had a selection of cars with exactly what hubby wanted and I had a happy hubby.So remember the beautiful light blue hardtop Mini Cooper? The car that was perfect for me? The car that I swore nobody in my family whatever drive because she was all mine. Be careful moms once your kids get a hold of your car you will never get the keys back. My new driver daughter was struggling to drive our Ford Fusion. I love my kids more than I love my car so she got in my Mini and it opened up a whole new world for her, she was driving safely and confident and I was losing my mini.I went back to Peter I'm told him he's going to have to convince me on this one because new 2015's just weren't what I wanted. I felt they lost some of the originality of the older minis and I was well prepared to walk out. Peter asked is your car the perfect car for you? And I honestly couldn't answer that, I thought it was but suddenly I wanted more options. Peter suggested a certified used 2013 so I would have what I wanted but I asked him to let me drive the 2015's and I would make my decision. Peter handed me the keys and said just try it out, No pressure no hard feelings just go drive the car and let me know what you think. I took the 2015 Mini Cooper for a drive, got out of the car, handed Peter the keys, looked at my daughter and said enjoy your mini, this meant she could keep mine and mama was getting the new Mini!The upgrades of the 2015 was exactly what I needed for my broken little body, they were amazing but due to circumstances I couldn't buy the car that day, I needed to wait a week, so Peter gets on inventory and we sort through papers on top of papers to figure out which car has what I want. Plop down a small deposit to hold that car for a week and when I came back my beautiful 2015 Mini was waiting for me.We are now a three Mini family we could make our own Italian job movie! And it's all because of the hard work, kindness, compassion of Peter Hisey and Mini of Portland. Life is stressful enough we should not have to worry or stress every time we walk into a car dealership. Peter has become family. My daughter calls him uncle Peter, this is because he makes you feel like family, he genuinely cares. Peter is such a top notch salesman he doesn't have to be here selling cars, I honestly believe this man could do whatever the xxxx he wants, but he loves these cars as much as the new owners do, he drives a Mini and he wants each family to be happy in the car they purchase, so he gets to know you first and then you get to know your car. I guarantee you will be extremely happy with Peter, and extremely happy with Mini of Portland. So in closing I give the highest praise possible to Peter and Mini of Portland I have never had a car buying experience like this and our family will never go anywhere else.

Needing a commuter car that was fun and economical, after test driving a total of 18 cars, I settled on Mini for my purchase. Mini of Portland was very patient as I tested a number of different varieties of Mini (roadster, roadster convertible, hardtop, John Cooper Works, & Clubman). I settled on a JCW Clubman, slightly broken in. Peter Hisey was extremely knowledgeable about all things Mini, and was a great partner through the process. I have worked with some good car salesmen, and some bad in the past, and Peter is one of the best. He was honest, on-time, knew his product inside and out, and was fun to deal with. Brandon Maggs was exceptional as well when he helped with selecting stripes for my Mini to make it "my own". All in all, a really great experience.

I am Drew and my wife is Michelle Wattier. If you google us you will know that on 11-30-12 we walked across a rode next to our hotel in Mexico, and a car hit us at 61MPH. Despite the horrible things that happened to us (Michelle had 43 surgeries and my right leg was amputated), meeting Peter Hisey allowed us to get what we needed. The EPA held it till October but Peter Hisey and the awesome staff at Mini of Portland were super helpful and accommodating, gave me loaners when I needed it, gave me a great deal on my dream car and made the entire process the easiest and most fun I've ever had at a dealership. I have always wanted a Mini Cooper and we decided it was time to get one. I called Mini of Portland and talked to Allen Snyder on the phone. He answered all my questions and we made an appointment to take a look. We got there at 8:30 in the morning and didn't leave there until 6:00 that night and Allen was the best. He wanted to know what colors I liked and what options I was looking for. He let me pick some to drive and then he made suggestions and always asked me if I wanted to take them for a test drive too. He was never pushy and had a lot of patience. He listened to everything we had to say. He made it a fun day and I got my beautiful Mini Cooper! I had a lot of questions when I walked in, but had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for as far as the car went. I knew EXACTLY what I wanted as far as financing went. Peter took the time to ask questions, answer questions, explain options, and show me what was available based on what I wanted. Once I had a better idea what car I wanted, Peter showed me a few options for financing. It wasn't cryptic or confusing like some of my previous experiences at other dealerships. The financing part with Salah went quickly and was surprisingly painless. For once, I was able to purchase a car without feeling like I had been taken for a ride. I'm extremely happy with the experience, and the car.

We bought our pre-owned vehicle from Mini of Portland while "cross border shopping" from Canada. Kirstie, our salesperson, was very helpful from the get go and promptly answered all the questions/queries we had (we had a lot as we had to get everything lined up for the export/import process). Kirstie went out of way to make sure we had all the paperwork we needed, including calling the manufacturer to get some specific compliance documents required.With the vehicle purchased seamlessly "sight unseen", our experience with the team remained outstanding. When we arrived at the dealership to pick up the vehicle, it was as if we had known each other for a while and were treated more like friends than customers. Kirstie and the Mini of Portland team (specifically Salah and Roger who where also extremely helpful when they had to fill in for Kirstie) have reset the bar in defining customer service for us. I have driven a 15 year old car because I dread the car buying experience. But on a recommendation from a friend they said we should go to Mini Portland and he promised we would not be disappointed. The second we made contact with Bradley O'Neill my anxiety disappeared. She took what is a stressful and overwhelming experience for me and made it fun and exciting. We met her on a Thursday and by Friday morning a was ready and excited to buy a new car. Her knowledge about the mini and her ability to make it an fun process was such a gift. Not only was she patient with the million questions my husband and I had she won the hearts of my 5 and 8 year old sons so much that my 5 year old said on our way home "Mom we really should buy 5 more cars from Bradley!" First and foremost, I bought a MINI because DJ was a friend, rather than a 'salesman'. A few months back I walked into the MINI dealership with apprehension. I always thought MINI's were unsafe...I had no viable reason to feel this way, other than I just had a bias towards them because they were small. I told DJ that I didn't want to buy one because I felt that they were unsafe...and that's when I knew DJ was fantastic! He got to the core of my bias, and walked me through everything so I felt safe and comfortable enough to buy one!! We test drove one and fell in love...with the car!!...hahaha Thank you for your undying patience with ALL of the questions I threw at you, and for going to all the trouble to find me a white and black countryman, only to decide on the all black one in the 20th hour!! With 2014 MINI hardtop introduction slated for April, on my first visit to MINI of Portland in March, Peter Hisey supported my decision to use online tools to build my own MINI. We traded our 2011 Mini S convertible for a 2012 JCW Clubman recently. We worked with Bradley O'Neil-She was excellent to work with. Her product knowlege about both cars was impressive. She was very helpfull all the way through the process. I have been looking for a good used Mini Cooper S and recently saw one that had just been listed on Mini of Portland website, a 2010 Mini Cooper S British racing green with black stripes, beige leather seats, moon roof and lots of bells and whistles and low milage of under 13,000 miles. I called the dealership and asked for Peter Hisey (I had read his reviews and he sounded nice). We talked and came to an agreement and I flew into Portland where Peter met me at the airport. The car had been completely serviced and was looking like new. Peter was really helpful and so were all the other people that I met at the dealership. I drove back to Southern Oregon in torrential rain and my Mini handled like a dream and I did not have a moments worry.

So I popped in to get some questions answered and 24 hours later there is a new Mini in our life! We are super excited about that! Roger and Allen are the guys who helped us and they were really the nicest guys ever! ZERO pressure from either, just smiles and shared knowledge. I really appreciated that! Car buying is something I don't look forward to but this was fun! Allen actually went with us to our new home to size the car in our garage. How helpful was that! It was perfect. The two of them spent time looking at the various models with us and helped us whittle down our decision after listening to our needs. He kind of kept me on track. (I needed that!) We were not in a hurry to decide but they made it so easy and explained features as well as financing options that suited us best. We bought within 24 hours! My initial contact and visit wasn't great, but Mike (the sales manager) contacted me to "work it out" and we did. He actively listened to my concerns and we ultimately came to an agreement on the purchase. Bradley helped my wife and I out with the details of the purchase and I can't recall a better experience in purchasing a vehicle. I wanted custom stripes but I'm not creative in selecting what looks good - Bradley was confident - with our feedback she selected a combination that looks fantastic. She then drove to make sure they were installed the next day along with a protective film I wanted. I'm very thankful with the result and I will definitely call her for my next Mini purchase.

This past fall, I had been looking all over for a used MINI. I've bought several cars (new/used, lease/purchase), so I'm comfortable with the process. Despite trying many different dealerships, I continued to see the best inventory at MINI of Portland. Unfortunately, my first experience at the dealership was poor. the salesperson didn't listen to what I was looking for and try to recommend something to me that I was not interest in. Felt like a waste of time.However, I did see a particular MINI online that I was interested in, but was dreading going back to MINI of Portland. SO: I called up the Sales Manager and asked if a different sales person could help me. Thankfully, I was referred to Peter.The experience with Peter could not have been better. He listened to what I wanted, explained everything to me about the nuances of the MINI S, and was open to addressing all of my concerns. He took me on numerous test drives and was really generous with his time (so rare for sales people). Finally, he helped make the finances work AND coordinated some adjustments (adding heated seats, removing some of the stripes and mirror caps).Peter is the man. If you see anything at MINI of Portland that you're interested in looking at-- do not pass GO, call directly for Peter (and Gary in Finance). Best car buying experience ever.

On New Year's Eve, I brought my 2014 Countryman home after the best car buying experience I have ever had. Working with Peter was great - he helped me decide on exactly what I wanted/needed on my new car and then did an internet search for it. He found my car while it was on the Atlantic and en route to the US. He let me know when it had reached the warehouse in Portland and then personally picked it up and put the first tank of gas in it for me - that's service! My kids were with me when I picked my car up and Peter included them in the whole process - even having them play a "how well do you know your mom" game. It was great! I would highly recommend Peter and Mini of Portland if you are looking for a Mini and are looking for a relaxed, friendly and fun atmosphere with absolutely no pressure. Thanks Peter! I really appreciate the way Dale went about sharing his car knowlege and advice in a low pressure and easy-going style. He is genuine and made the buying experience better than any other dealer I rode with. I still had to be firm with the price I wanted to pay and go through the sales person-manager song and dance, but in the end I got the exact car I wanted for a good price. I would advice anyone else to do the same--know what you're willing to pay (and should pay) and stick to that as they make it seem like you're being unreasonable. I bought a Mini Cooper from DJ Gill at Mini of Portland. Buying a car is always a dreadful experience, but DJ was so helpful and easy to work with. We spent four hours at Mini with two younger children and DJ fed us all and kept the girls entertained (foosball tournament!) while we finalized our paperwork. Before we left, DJ had us all put on funny costumes and took a picture of my family in front of our new Mini. I didn't feel pressured to overspend and everyone was so nice there. I highly recommend Mini of Portland, and DJ in particular!

Usually go through Costco on new cars so we don't have to negotiate and get the "car purchase" feeling I hate so much. Summary: Mini of Portlands service department hasnt proved to be the easiest to work with, that being said I feel they can improve tremendously by following the principle the customer is always right, until documented otherwise.Background: I ordered my Mini Countryman in March of 2012 and picked it up towards the end of May 2012 from the dealer. The morning I picked it up they had just sealed the interior/ exterior with a sealer (Lithia Protection Package) and there were run lines on the seats and door panels. I was advised by Bradley that the sealant was still wet, let the car air out the next couple of days and the lines will be gone once the sealant fully drys (seemed reasonable). I signed all the paperwork and left the Mini dealer, headed home to Klamath Falls, OR.The smell went away within a few days; however the seats still had drip lines from the sealant. I called Bradley and discussed it with her, she advised to have them look at it when I come in for the first oil change at 10,000 miles (also reasonable). I had the 10,000 mile oil change at Mini of Portland in October. I scheduled it in advance and had an 8:00am appointment. When I got there the oil change was completed, headlights were adjusted (later to find the light were set incorrectly, after I got pulled over and scolded), and the sealant on the interior is another story. Needless to say I was accused of having a soda can explode in the car, all because they assured me they never seal the interior with the back seats down. Meanwhile Bradley (sales) told them that there weren't lines on the seats when I left (basically called me a liar). I also found it odd she didn't ever come over to help resolve the issue. By then we had Jaird and his manager claiming my story wasn't true. Sure it had been a more than a couple months (maybe they had forgotten about it) but the seats were under the Lithia Protection Package, which covered it even if they thought it was my fault (but sure blame the customer). They then attempted to remove the lines in there detail shop (which failed). After which they advised me to call the contact information that came with the warranty on my own, not very professional being it was the (Lithia Protection Package at the Lithia dealer where I purchased the car). After a slight discussion they told me they would do some research and let me know, I left on the assumption they would call me within the week as agreed.Needless to say I didn't hear from them so on November 1st, 2012 a couple weeks later I called and left a message for Jaird to call me (didn't return my call). Called again on the 14th of November 2012 and left a message on Jarid's voice-mail to call me (no response). Called again on November 27th, 2012 spoke with Justin (explained) and he told me he would have Jarid call me (no response as promised by Justin). On November 29th, 2012 after being frustrated and pulled over by an officer for my lights I went to Litha (Ford) in Klamath and pleaded for them to assist me with the headlights (They had great customer service and helped me for free). Being I live 5hrs from Mini of Portland (Lithia) I dropped the issue with the seats, since clearly I wasn't getting anywhere and it was becoming a waste of my time. I had the oil changed the next time at the Lithia in Klamath Falls (everything went awesome, and the Lithia oil program worked great).Then on July 22nd, 2013 I called Mini of Portland to schedule an oil change (while I was in Portland, and have a diagnostic test completed). I also brought up the seats again they said they would look at them. When I arrived at Mini of Portland they assisted me to get a loaner vehicle (another Mini) for the day while they worked on the seats, I left. The next day they called (promptly) to tell me the seats hadnt yet been completed. I was told to take the loaner home and they would continue to work on them during the following week. At the end of the week they called and said it was going to take longer. The next week they completed the work (removed all run lines to the interior, for the most part). Yay! When I arrived to pick up my car they apologized and said there would be a no charge for the detail to the interior (awesome my car is all fixed). A week later I got a phone call that I owed them the detail expense (seriously). I explained that I was told different, and asked if they wanted me to pay (I was annoyed). Bottom Line: Honestly I appreciate that the issues has been resolved, but it should have been very simple and quick to fix. At the end they paid $70-$100 to have a company down the street steam clean the interior, and I had the warranty from them (which caused the issue in the first place). If Mini of Portland cares about improving, they need to work on customer service (on the phone and in person). I have no hard feeling about there Mini of Portland (service department), and hope for positive outcomes in the future.* I apologize for grammatical errors

We initially took our 2008 MINI to have it serviced. Jarid was the one who took our info and was wonderful. He even gave us a great recommendation for breakfast. We knew that we wanted to get a new one within the next 6 months or so, but that was not our reason for the trip.As we started to walk to the restaurant, we saw a 2013 MINI in the colors we wanted on our next one. It had almost everything we wanted, except for the V stripping, so we decided to put off breakfast and go see what kind of numbers Peter could come up with for us. (A friend had dealt with Peter a year earlier & highly recommended him.)We were impressed with how quickly (relatively speaking) the whole thing came together. Peter and the gal (sorry, can't remember her name, just that she was terrific, also!) were able to get the stripping done for us that day when usually it's 2-3 days out, which meant a lot to us as we are from Hermiston, approximately 4 hours away.We were expecting 1.99% financing, but Jan was able to get it knocked down to 1.49%! The young man who did the stripping did a wonderful job.All in all, we would highly recommend MINI of Portland. Not only do they have a terrific team, they also have the best cars.....MINI's. If you are interested in a used car, they have a great supply.

Peter was great, the management team worked to straighten out a mistake. We were buy a 2006 and the warranty that was put on the contract did not apply. After about 45 minutes a compromise was arrived at and the purchase went through. The finance department needs to get on the same page.The closer/finance person we met with was quite snippy. He was not helpful, but rather distracting in the dealership and we as the purchasers arriving at a compromise. For someone so righteous and persnickety; one would have thought he would be correct when figuring the sales tax. We live in Washington. The package arrived with the sale tax check and information necessary to get the license. The problem was that the check is not correct. The amount was short by $167.44! Not a lot of money - but a big surprise! One would think it would be correct!Overall I liked my experience, but the sales team, management team and the financial people need to work better to communicate between themselves. The customer should not have to suffer for their inability to work together. Ultimately the dealership will suffer!I don't expect that this review will ever show up, but I do hope that some reads it, and takes the critique in a positive light to work to create a better customer service experience for the client!

I originally purchased a BMW from Bradley when she worked at the BMW dealer. Bradley was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and helpful. It was a quick transaction because I knew exactly what I wanted, I didn't even test drive the vehicle. What impressed me, and continues to impress me, is the outstanding above and beyond customer service I have continued to receive from Bradley. After our sales transaction was complete, she moved from Portland BMW to Mini of Portland. However, Bradley continues to answer my questions and help me with any issues that arise. And, she is incredibly nice to my 4 year old son...he actually asks to go to the Mini Cooper dealer to "visit Ms. Bradley." These acts of selfless service are extremely rare these days. I recommend that anybody in the market for a Mini Cooper to visit Bradley...she will take great care of you.

Buying my used (new to me!) Mini from Peter was my first car buying experience, ever. Although I had not intended to buy the very first car I ever test drove, I did! Peter was great at sticking to what I wanted. I told him my price goal and manual and after wandering the lot a bit, we found my perfect car! Because the car had just come in, he didn't have a lot of information about it right off the bat, but once we got back to the dealership from my fun test drive he made an effort to find out my car's history.Although I wasn't able to get Peter to lower the price of my car, I do feel I still got a good deal as it is a Mini and it was in practically perfect condition besides for a few dents. Peter and the other members of the Portland Mini were really supportive during the money process, where I had to do some finagling to make sure everything worked out. They also were awesome and put a new windshield and tires on my car!My one issue was that once I picked up my car (test drove on Saturday, paid/drove away on Wednesday), I had to go back to the dealership twice more to deal with things that I shouldn't have had to use the gas for (DEQ paperwork and picking up a lost key). Besides those two extra trips, I really enjoyed my first car buying experience with Peter. He was very communicative, texting continually about the buying/key process and gave me good advice about how to drive/care for my new car!I definitely would recommend Portland Mini and working with Peter.

I had a wonderful experience buying my first Mini from Peter Hisey. I didn't know much about Mini going in, and Peter helped explain all the customizable features available. When it turned out the dealership didn't have the Mini I wanted, he helped me find it by accessing a larger inventory database. I only waited 3 weeks for the car to come in, not bad by Mini standards. When it arrived, the deal I was given for the new car and my trade was fair (after a couple back-and-forths). It was relatively painless and I was very happy with the service. There was a slight paperwork mix up, and I had to return to re-sign some things, but was compensated for my trouble. I would highly recommend working with Peter for your next Mini. He is a proud Mini owner himself, and is very knowledgeable about the car. He's friendly, funny, and not pushy - he even helped me re-learn how to drive a manual. When I decide to upgrade my Mini a few years down the road, I will definitely be calling Peter up for assistance.

I was not looking for a Mini but this dealer had the used Hyundai that I wanted and they were fantastic. DJ Gill and Dan Fajardo were very gracious, helpful and patient. There was no pressure at all too move quickly on a decision. They took the car to my mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection, picked it up for me afterwards tweaked a few minor issues and even called Hyundai to arrange for the repair on a recall issue. What unexpectedly fantastic service. DJ even helped me set up the Bluetooth which was a bit daunting for a less than technoloigcal type like me.

I own a 2003 mini S Cooper. I needed a mini S Clubman for the extra space for hauling my art from gallery to gallery. We went to Portland Mini and found our car. Yes, we had an idea of what color...and I really wanted a manual...but when the salesman DJ Gill pointed to a Clubman that was a 'good deal' ...of course we listened. The car was a 2010, approx.. 13,000 miles on it and loaded with special packages. We drove it and fell in love! No it wasn't our color and it is an automatic...but such a deal..Mr. Gill was informative AND NOT PUSHY! He spoke to BOTH of us about the car which I really appreciated. The buying process was quick for all the information that needed to be gathered...and the financing department ROCKED! We are very happy with our car, the customer service and they even let our dog occupy the office...thanks Portland Mini!

Made an offer on a car, a salesman followed up within a few hours. I made an offer and he stated he would get back to me, which did not happen. Guess that means they didn't accept it. I really think they could have taken the time to send an email and say, "no". But that must have been too much for them to accomplish. I can only derive that they would treat me that way after I bought a car from them and they took my money. We will get back to ya...really...wait for it...wait.... Sales and Finance worked with my less than perfect credit score, as well as finding a vehicle that met most of my criteria...not easy tasks.In spite of having what might be considered a 'captive market', due to the popularity and excellent price/value relationship of the MINI line, Peter Hisey was the most professional auto sales person with whom I have ever dealt! Additionally, the MINI facility (design/layout) is an excellent 'container' for the display, sale and service of MINIs. As a long-time professional in advertising and graphic design, I am quite sensitive to such things...hence my initial attraction to the MINI. FYI, my sister bought one last year and remains fanatically dedicated to it.If MINI pays attention to customer reviews regarding desired features and or any negative product aspects, MINI should become one of the most sought after vehicles in the world. A across the board price drop to compete with the Mazda 3 series would, of course, not hurt...lol.

When my husband and I visited MINI of Portland, we had an idea of what we wanted, but seeing the cars in person made our decision much more difficult, so I was glad that Peter Hisey came out to greet us and show us the inventory. He showed us several models that weren't originally on our radar and when we left after that first visit, Peter asked us to go build our ideal MINI on the website and send it to him. A few days later, I finally got around to building my MINI on the web and called the next day to set up a test drive. Peter was super nice on the phone and when I told him we needed to test drive a manual and an automatic, he was very accommodating.We went in and Peter showed us the specs of cars that were close to what I built on the web and offered to let us test drive whichever one was closest to what we wanted. Miraculously, he managed to have one that was about 90% of what I asked for, so we took that one for a test drive. After the test drive, Peter let my husband and me talk about it and was very hospitable while we went back and forth about whether we wanted to take the leap and buy a brand new car. He didn't hover, so we could have an honest discussion with each other about the decision, which I appreciated.Once we made our decision, the process was as painless as can be expected when buying a car :) Peter and Jan both were very patient with us when we made mistakes on the info for the paperwork and they stayed late to make sure that everything would be ready the next day when we came back to pick up the car.After the sale, Peter checked up on us and made sure that everything was going well and that we were happy. In addition, when we needed to replace a part (due to our own negligence), Peter worked hard for us to make the replacement easy and convenient as well as getting us a great price. He went far above and beyond the expected to help us and I am grateful for his help.So, for the courtesy during the sale and the aftercare once we had possession of the car, I give Peter Hisey and MINI of Portland top marks.

I've wanted a Mini Cooper for about as long as I can remember. Upon finally deciding to go for it, I built "my" Mini on the website and sent it off to Mini of Portland. Within a few hours, Peter H gave me a call. Within the next thirty minutes he emailed me a batch of Minis that met my criteria, plus a couple optional things to consider- they were all on the lot, ready to go (to my surprise!) I'm not sure if you've ever tried to build-out a Mini, but the amount of options and packages at times seems endless. He offered up information and suggestions about all of the features in a completely honest and transparent way. It felt more like buying a car with a friend than from a dealer. When I arrived at the dealership, Peter took the time to really vet through each and every feature of the few variations of the Cooper S I had my eye on. Hours later, I was signing paperwork on a car that I can't believe is mine and off I went. The whole transaction was so casual and stress free that it's now the bar for how I'll rate big purchases in the future.To Peter and the team at Mini of Portland, thank you!

I visited with the MINI club January 5, 2012. I purchased a replacement part (sun visor) and I was very surprised the service department not only installed it - at no charge - but also washed the car AND cleaned the wheels back to like-new. In addition, it seems this dealer will be supporting the club - it shows the kind of customer appreciation that many businesses have abandoned in search of every possible cent in profits.Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

Just bought my mini in October and I love it. I had the check engine light come on and it took some talking to them on the phone to figure out that it was because of the gas cap. When I got out to the dealership for my appt today, they took the car to check it out within about 4 minutes of me getting there, fixed it and showed me how to fix it correctly if it happens again and I was seriously out of there in under 18 minutes. Rory was great, super nice and professional. Takes some scheduling to get in to their service dept because they are booked out a ways but they definately told me that when I bought the car. Really positive sales and service experience. Thanks.

I special ordered a Cooper Hardtop and the staff were very helpful with my questions as they came up. I worked with Clint and he even kept me updated as the car was getting closer with emails such as "It's leaving the port!" The car's system is pretty different than my old-school Honda Accord, and Clint sat with me in the car getting the electronics set up to my liking, i.e. blinker timer, etc. Even after I bought the car, Clint was in contact to be sure I didn't have any questions. I haven't bought a new car in years, and this experience was easy.

I was looking at for a used car and stumbled on one I liked at Mini. I met with Peter Hisey and that was all it took. I felt like I was at the dealership working with someone that was just as much on my team as he was on Portland Mini's. His no pressure discussions with me on the vehicle sold me immediately and I just knew that everything presented to me was absolutely the honest truth on the car. I was offered without asking, the carfax! To date, in my lifetime, I have bought 14 cars. This was by far the most pleasant car buying experience I have had yet. After meeting with Peter and agreeing to buy the car, I was introduced to Jan Jazrawi in Finance. Another step, I usually can't stand in car buying, but again, at Mini, this was painless and amazingly quick!!!! I was offered different opportunities to purchase additional services without any pressure from Jan. The info was quick, precise and easy. I can't say enough about Portland Mini. I will check them out every time I am in the market for a car!

Peter Hisey's friendliness, knowledge, and professionalism is 5-star. The Portland Mini dealership is clean, classy, and with many amenities for client comfort while waiting. My original intent when visiting Portland Mini was to "see what a Mini is all about." Peter gave me a test drive, and I fell in love. While waiting for my new ride to arrive from the U.K., I called the dealership with a few questions about timing. If Peter was not available, others were gracious and knowledgeable - GO TEAM!!! I now am driving a 2013 Mini Clubman and loving it, especially the wide black racing strips, which Peter offered to have removed. "Don't touch those racing stripes!!!" At almost 71 years old, I have bought a few cars over the years. This was by far the best car buying experience we have ever had! Period!! I called Mini of Portland and spoke with Peter Hisey about a used 2009 Mini I had seen on your website. We were pretty well set on buying a convertible but after driving it we had some issues with visibility. In particular my wife felt her visibility through the rear mirror was somewhat compromised when the top was down. So Peter helped us by not only giving us more information on Mini in general, but by showing and explaining the various other vehicles to us. One thing led to another and before we knew it we were the proud owners of a beautiful Chile Red Mini Roadster. We love the car, but that isnt why I am writing to you.You should know that Peter Hisey didnt sell us a thing. He helped us. We talked and before we knew it we felt like he was more of a friend than a sales person. We feel like we bought a car and Peter was a good friend that was there to counsel us in our purchase. It all began with a thought to downsize from my SUV. I was looking for a car that fit my lifestyle, and of course my personality. It didn't take me long to settle on the MINI Cooper Hardtop. On my first visit to the Dealership, I met Peter. We talked about the cars, about options, and the ultimate goal I was trying to achieve. I was there maybe 30 minutes before he gave me some material, options to think about, and sent me away. I expected to spend an hour or two haggling, but was surprised by his response and really appreciated the space. We continued to communicate non-stop for a week. Asking/answering questions to help me find the best situation that fit my goal and budget. Peter started working with Jan to get me into the best situation possible. Their dedication and patience (especially with my constant questions and requests for different information) made them incredible to work with, and I know it's not common for people to tell you that they actually ENJOYED a car-buying experience! These two guys are not only good at what they do, they have great personalities, too. You can bet I'll be highly recommending them and MINI of Portland to everyone I know :)

Initial contact was Jarid Perry for routine oil change and filter service on a 06 hardtop we bought new from Rassmussen BMW. Jarid provided transportation to downtwon and arraged for us to be picked up at BMW of Portland later in the day.Jarid refered us to Peter when we inquired about a new MINI convertible. Peter was outstanding in providing information and allowing a couple of test drives.When we decided to buy a new conv, he tried unsuccessfully to obtain a car slated for another dealership. Failing that, he ordered us a new car which we took delivery of about 9 weeks after ordering.Everyone we have met and delt with has been preofessional and pleasant.

(Two things about this: I can't remember the last time, if ever, I have written a review, nor is it indicative of our experience with the service department, which has been fantastic.) We purchased our first MINI Cooper a couple of years ago from Rasmussen MINI and had a great experience. Therefore, when we had a child and needed to move up to the Countryman we sought them out. Unfortunately, it appears they were bought out by MINI of Portland. The biggest difference between the two purchases was how invested our salespeople were. In the first case, our salesman made a huge effort to find what we were looking for and made us feel the process and our desires were important to him. In the case of MINI of Portland, it didn't feel that way at all. Our initial conversations were good but soon went downhill. Originally, we were talking about purchasing a Certified Pre-Owned model they had on the lot. However, we were told they wouldn't negotiate on the price because, "(The dealership) doesn't care if they sell it. It's the only one on the lot and someone will come in five minutes from now and pay the asking price." It was a nice car with lots of features we didn't really need, so we performed a lot of research online regarding what we needed versus what we could afford. Once we settled on those details I met in person with the salesman to talk about placing the order. That went smoothly because we knew exactly what we wanted and all that needed to be done was fill in the same options we had on the MINI USA website. At that point I asked about the special financing offer mentioned on the MINI of Portland website. The salesman knew nothing about it and had to open the webpage to see what I was talking about. After skimming it, he said he didn't think the Countryman was eligible. I pointed out in the fine print that it was.At the beginning of the car-buying process, I mentioned to our salesman that my wife had just delivered our baby with some complications and she would be unable to drive for several weeks, so the time frame related to getting a special order was not a problem. To make things as easy as possible, we were planning on trading in our Cooper, however the salesperson suggested we should attempt to sell it ourselves on Craigslist. The difficulty with that was not knowing when the Countryman would arrive (since we are a one-car family). We were able to follow the build process on the MINI USA site, but once that was complete we were told our dealership would have access to our MINI's progress from there. We contacted our salesperson but he had no estimate on how long it generally took completed cars to arrive and kept pointing us toward MINI USA. He mentioned he wouldn't have any additional information until the car reached the port. Some research online indicated that buyers of MINIs from other dealerships were able to get the name of the transport vessel their cars were on so they could track them, among other details. MINI USA customer service told us that our dealer should definitely have access to more information than we were being given and apologized for the lack of help. We ended up making a guess based off information from other MINI owners we found online. Fortunately, we were able to sell our car to a local buyer with a lot of flexibility. We heard from our salesperson again only when the car arrived at the dealership. We made arrangements to pick up the car up the following day since we live almost 2 hours from the dealership. Because of all the work that had been done (we were pre-approved for a loan), we thought it would be a quick process. Taking possession of the car felt inefficient. Immediately before entering the dealership, my wife fed our baby so he would be as calm as possible. It took almost exactly 2 hours to drive off the lot after our arrival, for reasons that were unclear to us. It seemed that the process moved in slow motion and we were never sure if it was just because the sales team was unmotivated or if there were other reasons that weren't communicated to us. After two hours, our infant was extremely fussy because it was time to eat again. What should have been an exciting time ended up just being frustrating. At this point, MINI presents itself as a premium product. At this dealership, apparently all customers pay MSRP. What kept running through my mind during this process are the differences between our MINI experience and another premium product retailer, Apple. Apple expects you to pay their listed price regardless of where you purchase their products, but they treat you as if you are important and that there is added service value to owning their devices. Most Apple salespeople I have spoken with have been attentive, knowledgeable, and appeared happy to help. We didn't get that impression from the sales department of this dealership. If we were to purchase another MINI and if the option were available, we'd rather just order it online and have it delivered to our door with no sales/dealer interaction.

I started my search for my 2012 Coupe on the internet..then decided it would be best to make an appointment with Bradley to test-drive...I couldn't have picked a busier day...(Demo day at Mini of Portland)...Bradley was with a customer, but acknowledged me and sent me down to register for a test drive and the rebate coupon. I took the test drive and was very happy. Bradley kept popping out from her desk to make sure I was comfortable and once free, we wrote up my order for my coupe. Her design choices were "ONE OF A KIND"....so I went home to count the days until delivery. Well, as it should happen, my original order was damaged at the origin, so luck have it, I got to order my new Coupe with every option I wanted. Sometimes, good things are worth waiting for. I got my build sheet from Bradley and followed my baby from birth to delivery at Mini of Portland. Bradley picked me up from the airport and off we went to see my new Coupe, tucked away in the showroom all bright and new! Bradley spent hours with me going over every inch of the car and how it worked...(I kept thinking, hurry up, I wanna go vroom-vroom)....She followed up that evening with how did I like my drive home? Another follow-up call in three days...and then another one just the other day. TALK ABOUT SALES AND SERVICE...GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!!! In fact I was looking at their used Minis just for an excuse to deal with Bradley again!Thank you very much. I am very, very happy with my 2012 Mini Cooper Coupe.

I bought my Mini from the downtown Portland dealership about a year ago thinking that the location would be ideal for service related work since I work close by. I was really disappointed to learn the dealership had moved. However, to my delight, the staff at Mini of Portland has been totally accommodating on the two occasions I've been there. The first was for a low mileage oil change. It was going to take awhile but Bryce was kind enough to shuttle my son and I to Washington Square mall so we could do some shopping while the service was performed. On the second occasion, I had an issue with the driver's side visor/mirror. Clayton told me to stop by on Saturday (which is another great aspect of the dealership), to have the part ordered. It's expected it in about a week and it's covered under the warranty. I've been really pleased with the professionalism, courtesy and extra mile service! Thanks guys!

After 25 years and having owned 6 new cars all of which were serviced at the dealership where purchased, I have never been given such poor service. I called to get an appointment to have my car serviced and I was given a date a month out. When that date finally arrived they called to cancel it and I was told on the message that was left that they would call back to reschedule. I was never called. I left several messages to reschedule and after numerous tries was told I could bring my car in. I was leaving to go on vacation and they assured me my mini would be ready to pick up upon my return. I have been back from vacation over three weeks so that means they have had my car for a month and it is still not ready. When they had the car so long I asked for a loaner car and they said none were available so I have had to rent a car! In other service experiences there the work has been mediocre at best. I scheduled to have a short in the trunk light services over a year ago and they said they had fixed it. As I was driving the car home, the light went on again. I live far from there so I figured I would bring it in the next time it needed service. When I finally did, they said it was no longer under warranty. Ahhhhhhh. I love my mini, but unless I could find another authorized service provider, I would never buy another. Their service department, for me, has been a nightmare. I have never filled out a complaint about any product in my life! This is a first!

This was the easiest car buying experience I have had. First time in the dealership we talked about MINI's in general and took a test drive of the model I was interested in. I was able to take my time with my MA to work out the perfect configuration and get in the queue. When I came back to pick it up, there was a little wait while some of the paper work was sorted out which gave us a chance to chat about MINI's. I was informed of the service agreements, paint protection, etc. but not overly pressured to purchase.

I took my Mini Cooper in to have the oil changed. I also asked them to repair the 'secret compartment' lid as it was stuck shut, and I asked them to replace the driver's side windshield wiper. When I dropped the vehicle off I asked how long it would take and they said 4 hours. I told them that I had not planned on being at the delaership that long, I had on;l planned on 2 hours. I asked why it was going to take them so long, I had made the appointment many weeks ahead of time - not like i had just walked in and expected to be squeezed into their alrady existing shcedule (another complaint of mine - that their service calendar was so full that it took forever to get in). The gentleman helping us said they were going to do a brake inspection and probably have to replace the front brakes, and they would also rotate the tires while they were at it. I told them I could not wait this long. They said they would do what they could do in two hours, abd we agreed that I would have to come back to get the other work done at another time if they couldn't get to it all. I left the dealership and walked to a coffee shop and came back two hours later. I waited around for a bit for them to call my name and after a while when they had not called my name I went up to the desk to ask what the status of my car was. The guy said he would find out. I watched him walk around the shop, asking about my car. I knew something was up when he went in to the service managers office and started talking to him. He came out and said " I have some good news, and I have some bad news. The bad news is that they have not started working on your car yet. The good news is I can get you a loaner vehicle (he knew I did not live close to the delaership)(they gave me a Countryman to drive, I love Mini's but hate the look of these, and then ifind out they had a coupe in the morning that I could have had, had they just given me a loaner at the beginning of this whole process!). So this meant coming back to the dealership the next day to get my car (ugh - didn't have this in my plans for the day!). So I got my car and got home with it and realized that they did not rotate the tires, they did not give me a new driver's side windshield wiper like I had asked, and they fixed the door on the 'secret compartment' but when they reassembled it they forgot to put the back half of the compartment back in. Needless to say I am quite disappointed in the service I have received from them. I have been anxioulsy awaiting ther official survey form to come to me...haven't seen it yet though. I hope everyone has a better experience with theses guys than I did...

I had a great experience at Mini of Portland! We were greated by Peter in the lot and he was very friendly from the initial introduction. He really took the time to listen to what we were looking for and then made some reccomendations. We took a car for a test drive and showed us everything that makes MINI stand out from other manufacturers. He was a breath of fresh air after we had visited many other dealers in the area. Peter worked with Jan to help us hold the car at the lot for a week since we were completing our move to Portland and was very understnading of our needs. Peter was very knowledgeable about not only the car itself but also about MINI as a company. The price of the car was great and our overall experiece was 10 out of 10, 5 stars, 100% satisfied!

Bradley ONeilMarch 3rd, 2012I went to Mini of Portland to look at the countryman, look at all of the options, and test drive one to see if it was really the car I thought it was to make the decision to buy one. I was already pre-financed from mini online, and the interest rate was a low or 0.9% or 1.9% APR depending on the terms. Thats when I met Bradley for the first time. She asked if I had any questions and then let me know where she would be if I did. Then let me look at the show room without constant interruption. I then climbed in each model, accessing each to find the best solution to my desired use of the vehicle. I was looking for a practical, fun and affordable vehicle. Practical- (4 people, outdoors, dog friendly, mileage, last ability, everyday vehicle, ect) Fun- (get up and move, stylish, different, tight steering, ect) Affordable- ($30,000.00 or less for the right vehicle)I really fell in love with the Countryman because I could tell that it was well built, and everything that could be mechanical was, while still providing the 2012 features common in other vehicles. I then went on a test drive with Bradley. She was courteous and helped in a graceful way without becoming the sales person until I was ready to make the purchase/ order.When I sat down at her desk to make the purchase she offered a cold beverage and carefully walked me through the forms. I found her the most helpful when we went through the options making sure I understood what I got with each. Mini has a very high tech built it function on their web site so I had already designed my car probably a hundred times. She didnt try to sell them; she weighed out the pros and the cons of each and let me make the decision. When we were done she then reviewed each with me to make sure we were both on the same page. At the end I knew everything I was getting and what it was going to cost. I really appreciated her not trying to sell me something I didnt want, which can be frustrating. She didnt have to be at work until 8:30am but she woke up early on a Saturday to come get me at the airport so that I didnt have to find ground transportation to the dealership or wait for her to show up. Then while we drove to the dealership she showed me how more of the Minis features work. I then got to see my Mini Countryman for the first time; it was exactly what I had expected. We then went through the final paperwork, she helped me set some of the inside settings, and I was ready to hit the road.May 7, 2012 The Monday after I had already bought the car she followed up to check on if I had any questions, concerns, and to just make sure I was still happy with the vehicle.Jan JazrawiMay 5, 2012Bradley introduced me to Jan to finish the DMV and warranty paperwork. MINI of Portland provided a hassle-free buying experience. Because I was buying from out of area, information exchange through email and phone calls was necessary and proved exceptional. I was picked up at the train station by Portland MINI staff, and my vehicle was prepped and waiting for me when I arrived. The salesperson (Peter Hisey) was very knowledgeable and the finance manager (Mark Harper) handled the paperwork expeditiously. It was an overall great buying experience.

I wouldn't even give them one star, if I didn't have to. My car went in for warranty inspection and routine mileage maintenance, and it turned out to be a 30 day nightmare! I had my car for 3 of those 30 days, and had to return it after its inspection as the air conditioning didn't work following the work done on the car. Interestingly, the technician SIGNED OFF on the AC system working as part of the inspection but when I brought the car home, it was no longer functional. After returning the car ASAP per Mini's request, they kept it for 7 additional days before telling me they were unwilling to fix it free of cost because they "couldn't identify" what happened while it was in their shop causing it to break, although they stood by the fact it was working when I originally took it in.Additionally, they did work on the car without quoting OR consulting me first, returned about 5% of my phone calls. I had to physically drive to the shop to get any information on my car as several messages over several days went unreturned. Everyone, including the service manager, was unhelpful despite my VERY patient and understanding attitude. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE! I will drive three hours to Tacoma if I ever need work done again. You will not get appropriate customer service, respectful treatment, fair prices, or work done correctly at Mini of Portland.

From the first time we visited the dealership, we had an outstanding experience. I felt like Bradley really listened and understood what I wanted in a car. She made sure that I understood all of my options, and helped me make the best choices for ME. It did take a little longer than projected to receive my car from the manufacturer. When I picked up 'Roxy', everyone in the dealership was welcoming and made a point to speak to me. I felt special, which isn't usually how you feel after you've already bought your car. Jan made the paperwork as easy as possible. Jon special ordered my overnight bag, and even shipped it to my house when it came in. It took me over a year to convince my dad to go to a dealership with me and the first (and only) one he would go to was Mini. (I needed my dad to co-sign so I could get the best interest rate). If it wasn't for Kirstie and her EXCELLENT customer service, my dad would have walked right out the door (and i would still be stuck in a Camry). She was very nice, easy to work with and not pushy whatsoever! Whatever I wanted, she made it happen. They didn't have my exact car that I wanted in stock so we had to order it but everyday I waited (which came earlier than expected) was worth it! Mark in finance was super easy to work with as well!Overall,I am very happy with the level of customer service that I have received! Kristie is phenomenal and I only recommend her! Kirstie, you are a pro and I cannot thank you enough for being so great!! It is hard to please my dad especially when it comes to buying cars, but you have made it a breeze!Thank you so much! So on the hottest day of the year I decided to test drive some cars. I had already visited 3 other dealerships, knew what I was looking for (price wise) and needless to say I was in a pretty bad mood by the time I got to Mini. The first person I met was Allen who greeted me with a smile (a nice genuine one). He was friendly and seemed happy despite the hot weather. He was more than happy to show me every car that I was thinking about. He was patient, fun to be around, and easy-going. He didn't even laugh at me when I stalled (I was so embarrassed)! I went back and forth about 100 times on which car I liked, any normal salesman would have been irritated, but Allen just listened to my chatter and laughed. There was no hard sell, no irritating speeches about stuff I didn't care about, and I felt so taken care of I would have purchased a tricycle from him at that point and been happy. The financing guy Mark Harper was brilliant! He was quick, funny and very direct which made it easy. This is by far the BEST dealership experience I have had! If you are buying a car, or just looking and want someone to help you that is AWESOME, I suggest calling Allen. THANK YOU for the great experience!

I set out car shopping from Winston Oregon heading north on interstate 5 stopping at any size able town to look for an economy car. I knew that I was interested in a Mini Cooper but I was being open to all economy cars. I found some dealers with some used mini coopers but when I arrived to look at one at a dealer that had advertised they were unable to locate it & so I moved on checking out other cars but wasn't satisfied with my findings. I kept driving & looking & learning things along the way & eventually found myself pulling into Mini cooper of Portland OR. I walked inside & was greeted with a smile & was asked if I could be helped, I replied "yes, could I get somebody from sales please" I waited not even a minute & was greeted by Peter with a handshake & a proper introduction. He asked if my Fiance, kids or myself would like something to drink & we were served bottled water which was nice after the long days drive. Peter was very nice & friendly. We discussed what I was looking for and we starting looking at several mini coopers. Then we discussed some more things about the cars & Peter offered great advice to us & with his knowledge of Mini's it was very helpful. Peter found the perfect car for what we were setting out to do. I feel we received a good bargain & are very happy with our purchase. We ended up coming back the next day due to my own circumstances & picked up our new Mini Cooper. Upon pickup Peter sat down with me in the car & showed me all the neat features of the mini & answered any questions I had. He was very thorough but not too thorough & he made it very fun & cool. I drove away with a big smile on my face, a very satisfied feeling, & not to mention a full tank of gas. All of the staff at Portland Mini were very accommodating to my Fiance, myself & our 4 kids but Peter deffinetely offered a one of a kind great car buying experience. Thank you Peter Hisey! First-time car buyer, braced for the worst, had an ultra-pleasurable experience overall. Ultimately felt more like a reunion of friends than something insidiously transactional. Dan and Mark, no matter what their salaries, are vastly underpaid. It was as much them as it was the car itself that instilled the confidence that I have a pleasure-to-drive, companionable vehicle for the next half-dozen years. They continue to inquire how much fun I'm having driving what I affectionately named "The Notorious B.R.G." (for British Racing Green); I'm pleased to report that driving it out here 60 miles east of the city where I live remains an extreme joy. And, in a defining moment, in the section of the process that I feared most, that of being locked away in the Financial Manager's office for The Big Haggle, I still kick myself for not just ordering a pizza delivered in there because my pal and I were having such a fun time being regaled with anecdotes and maxims from Mark; the financial discussion seemed incidental. So, not only "Go MINI!" but also "Go Tandem of Brits!!" there at MINI of Portland. One of my main tasks among all these Subaru drivers out here in Hood River is to convince them they're driving an inferior car currently and they should see those guys immediately to rectify that sad fact.Thanks!

I came in for service work for my MINI Cooper S.Jarid Perry exemplifies the perfect service advisor!Friendly, courteous, customer service oriented! He carefully listens to customers and ensures whatever service needs are met for them! In my case they needed my MINI for a couple days to diagnose the cold start issue, coming from Eugene there was no way for me to go without a car for a few days. Jarid offered a wonderful loaner vehicle while mine was in the shop and contacted me as soon as they were able to diagnose and resolve the problem. When I went to pick it up he spent time to explain what work was done. He is my "go to guy" when I need answers about my MINI!

Here are 2 examples of why I gave only an OK rating:I bought this car pretty much over the phone from CA where having a proper smog rating is critical. When I called & asked them to email a picture showing the smog emission label & what it said - I was actually told "I would have to tell them where it was located" as they didn't know(CA DMV would require this).Also the registration process, handled by a 3rd party via the dealer, was never explained adequately until the very end (made me feel like I might have been the 1st guinea pig). I ended up driving around without proper registration for 6 days before I received the plates.So i suppose if I were a local & bought one off the floor my experience would have been different but they were the only dealer who had the car with a discontinued color that we wanted.

My Mini experience could not have been easier. I checked out the Mini website first to get an idea of what I wanted and then went to the dealer to see the cars and immediately settled on the Clubman (Countryman was too big; Cooper not quite enough room). Peter made the test drive a lot of fun and he was right... it's like driving a go-cart! The 2 month wait was absolutely worth it to make sure I got exactly what I wanted - first time I ever ordered a car to my specs and not just settled for something that was on the lot.

Without being too gooey, Peter is truly the most "unsales-y" salesman I have ever come across. He is so genuine, patient and understanding with you that you feel like you have an ally in the process and even more importantly, no pressure whatsoever to make a decision you are not 100% comfortable with. From the minute my husband and I drove into Mini of Portland and met Peter Hisey, our afternoon became fun. My husband has been in sales for over 30 years, and frankly, when we get out and look around in any auto dealership, we expect to get the hard sell approach from the moment we are spotted. Peter never made us feel in any way as if he was personally trying to "score" a sale off of us. He was just super knowledgable and enthusiastic about the cars! When he took us on that first test drive, he was so excited to show us what "this baby can do!" It spilled over, and I fell in love! We do not live in Portland...in fact, we live 10 hours away in Helena, Montana. Peter made buying the car as easy as if we were just down the street. He routinely emailed or called, even on his day off, in order to make this happen for us. I got the car of my dreams, and cannot imagine buying a different make in the future. It is pretty cool living in a city where there are not a lot of Mini's tooling around. Whenever we "meet" each other driving down the street, there is always a wave or a honk. We should start our own Mini Club here in Helena. Oh...and by the way...one thing I was a little worried about was how this car would do in winters in Montana. Last week there were 100 accidents within a few hours because of the ice rink conditions on the streets of Helena. I drove home on the main road at that time and saw some sights myself, but my car never skipped a beat. I feel confident in it no matter what the conditions. Peter...I have you to thank that getting into my car and driving anywhere is a really fun time!

I love my MINI. I was worried that since MINI of Portland is the only dealership in Oregon that they might be harder to deal with since they have the corner on the market. Not so. It is clear that they are very interested in exceptional customer service. Kirstie did a great job with every detail, and even sold my old car for me when I couldn't get the trade-in value I needed at the dealership.
