Sean Garwood is not only an excellent sales executive, he's also very attentive to what the customer wants. He went the extra mile to find the car my wife wanted and made sure to keep us informed every step of the way, from ordering the product, to following up after the sale!The service department is second to none and Shirley has been our service writer for years. She's always honest and to the point and when she can save you money, she will!Excellent Company to deal with!

My husband and I bought a certified pre-owned 2015 Mercedes Benz through Vince Varnadore and I can't find enough positive words to describe his helpfulness, professionalism and responsiveness in our interactions with him. From the very beginning he was attentive and personable, answering our questions and offering alternatives. When we did the test drive he patiently went through the features of the car, many of which we were unfamiliar with. Given our needs he suggested an alternative vehicle and helped us to make that happen. We are very happy with Vince's customer focus and will contact him when we are ready for our next car.

First problem: Inability to return customer calls or reply to text messages on official inquires in a timely manner. Another issue was inability to follow up and correct an erroneous "hard" look inquiry in my credit report. Car deal was finalized on 07/01/2016, but my credit report was hit with 3 separate hard inquiries. Charles Barker (Automotive) on Jul 1, 2016 [authorized], MB FIN SVCS (Finance) on Jul 1, 2016 [authorized], and then another hard look by Charles Barker (Automotive) on Jul 7, 2016 [UNAUTHORIZED]. And it is taking for ever to fix it. All inquiries will remain in my credit report for 2 yrs. I continue to have this run-around till now. No one wants to own up and take responsibility including my Sales Rep. who is supposed to look out for the customer. However, I had a great experience and the best team some years ago when I bought my new Toyota Camry from Charles Barker!!! The very opposite this time around with Mercedes Benz dealership.

James was wonderful! He is very knowledgable on all the vehicles and made the process simple. We actually came in on Sunday when it was closed. James allowed us to test drive a SUV I was in love with. The next day we came in and bought it. He was hassle free, up front, and kind. He made the process so easy. This dealership is what to expect when buying a luxury car. While waiting through the dreaded financial process, they served us Starbucks and even lunch. It isn't much but made the process a bit more bearable. They answered all my questions directly. Next to a home, getting a vehicle is a huge expense. I wanted to know this was a car I will enjoy for years to come. We looked at a lot of vehicles from many dealerships from all the luxury brands to other large known brands of SUVs. We felt this was the best for what we were looking for. From the start we felt at home with this dealership. MB speaks for itself. We purchased the GLC300 at a good price with good trade-in for our other vehicle. The car we chose was still in bubble rap so they loaned us a nice used vehicle in their lot as they prepped our new vehicle. The next day it was ready! I am happy and best of all I look super cute in my SUV! I would recommend this dealership. I feel comfortable knowing I can come back at anytime for service and questions. 5 stars throughout.

I had a great buying experience with Vince. I was coming out of a 2014 E350 that I had really enjoyed. I was trying to determine if I was going keep it or try a 2017 E300. I was hesitant because I felt that the E350 was a better ride and I did not want to be disappointed. Vince assured me with the 2017 specs that I would be receiving the same, if not better ride with the E300. He found the color that met my expectations, the interior was ridiculously refined, and the ride was incredible. Vince is very knowledgeable in regards to Mercedes. Thank you!!!

I recently purchased a 2017 GLC300 4 Matic SUV. Coming out of a Range Rover HSE Supercharge, I had serious expectations for my new car purchase and reluctantly considered Mercedes. This is my fifth Mercedes purchase and I am not an easy buyer to please! Adam Mayassi approached me on my first visit to the dealership, and from the start, he provided the BEST, "non-pushy" and knowledgeable sales experience that I've ever encountered ! I must admit, I quite frankly had already selected the car and planned to purchase it "cash" from a dealer in Los Angeles! Adam's expert knowledge of the GLC300 in comparison to other Mercedes options caused me to make the cash purchase from him within two days! Adam found the car fully loaded with all of my requirements within one day and bought it into the dealership for me to test drive. I was highly impressed! In addition, the sales department provides extensive support to customers that extends well beyond normal expectations! I am a very satisfied customer, and I am enjoying the best purchase and the best performing vehicle ever!

I purchased a new E350 2 years back. When making the deal, I asked about valet pickup/drop-off for service appointments as I live 35-40 miles and other dealer in the area provides that service. I was promised that it will not be a problem but it has been a pain. Service department keep saying that is sales job to arrange the pickup and drop-off, they dont know about it even though it same dealership. And the service staff is in generally haughty and arrogant. I will never buy another vehicle there and not recommend it to anyone.

Mr. Hadrian Apoderado was a phenomenal sales person. From the moment we first stepped inside the dealership to the day we took delivery of our Mercedes Benz, Hadrian was there all the way. He always made himself available through text or phone and he was very sincere, very helpful, and very professional! He was also very happy and excited for us that we're getting our first Mercedes Benz! Mr. Gregory Montie was also very helpful in patiently explaining all details and numbers on paper, make sure we feel comfortable with everything. Management people Mr. Yogi Jaffee and Ms. Grace Mendoza made all these things possible and they also deserve special mention. Without them, these would all still be a dream for us. All other employees at Charles Barker Mercedes Benz that we came across with are all very friendly and welcoming! You wouldn't feel that you are in a Mercedes Benz dealership because everybody treated us with respect. I have had several good sales experiences with Japanese brands before but this one beats them all! My overall experience with Charles Barker Mercedes Benz had been awesome and deserves a 10 out of 5 stars!!! I am looking forward to more experiences with them!

Purchased a CPO 2013 SLK 350 in May 2016. I found the vehicle online and was routed to Adham when I called to inquire. Adham handled the sale from initial phone call, through explaining and documenting condition of the vehicle, price negotiation, deal closing, and helping with transportation. His manner is extremely professional, consultative, and straight forward. I really can't say a single bad thing about any aspect of my purchase experience. It was a unique pleasure. I purchased the vehicle sight unseen and had it shipped to Michigan. The car is fantastic, the condition exactly (actually slightly better) than the expectations set by Adham. He was thorough in explaining the one or two very minor cosmetic wear/flaws on the car. I've bought a lot of cars. Many of them sight unseen. This is the best experience I have had in 30 years of buying and selling cars. Should the occasion arise, I will most definitely do business with Mercedes of Virgina Beach (and Adham) again. This is an unsolicited review.

I appreciated the loaner car during the time of the shipping of the tire. Once arrived they repaired the tire, rim and had it ready in no time. Looks like new. We stopped by on a Saturday morning to check out a CPO GLK Blue Tec that we had emailed the dealership about a few days leading up to the visit. Many dealers do not respond via email or take days to respond. Both Mary and Adham were fast to respond and always had a detailed response. As promised on Saturday the GLK was up front, clean and ready to be looked it. I was impressed with the condition of the vehicle and with Adham taking the time to answer all our questions. We were able to work up an excellent deal and we decided to buy on the spot. They gave us an excellent trade in value offer as well. Greg in the business office was also on point. The next day I was going through the systems and noticed the GLK was due for its A1 service in 45 days. I contacted Adham and he assured me they would get it resolved. He quickly contacted me back to let me know all service was up to date and that the B service was just done and that we could drive it at anytime for them to clear the service reminder. It is nice deal with a place that still cares about you after the sale. We will be customers for life. Thanks for making our purchase an enjoyable experience.

We moved up to Mercedes because we were looking for an above average experience. The purchase of our vehicle was flawless. I served our country for 35 years, Charles Barker should ask me what service truly means. When you have to call the service department to find out if your vehicle has been fixed, that is what we used to do with Honda and Toyota! We get a notice that our vehicle is due for a 20,000 miles service after it was done 2,000 miles ago, really. Not what we expected. Charles give me call, let's talk the talk and walk the walk. You live in a military centric community and we know what is like to serve.

I would like to share my experience of two purchases of Mercedes Benz within two months from Mercedes Benz of Virginia Beach. My sale consultant was Jim Hayden. Jim and his general manager Charles Jaffee, both helped me considerably to choose my appropriate cars with the best options. They are patient and taking the best care of their customers. We went back and forth to the dealership about 4 or 5 times prior to buying but he was very accomodating. It was the best car buying experience we've had. I met Hadrian in 2011 at a previous dealer he worked for. Unfortunately I didn't buy a car from Hadrian at the time and I bought two used Mercedes from another dealer in Yorktown. After I had the vehicles for two years the cars began to depreciate and they weren't worth what I was paying. So I went to see Hadrian and to be honest I never looked back, then in 2013 Hadrian assisted me in the purchase of a 2014 E350 Coupe. Hadrian explained the buy vs. lease options and made suggestions but always said it's your decision. Hadrian calls me throughout the year and invites me to special events at the dealerships he has worked at. Hadrian switched dealers and he called me to let me know that he would be working elsewhere and it was at that point I knew that as long as I lived in Hampton Roads I won't purchase a vehicle unless Hadrian sells it to me. We all know that we have to work to take care of our families but I know that it's not about just selling cars for Hadrian, he is driven by pride and professionalism and he believes in the brand. Fast Forward to July 25, 2015 I experienced another issue with a lease, I would be over the mileage if I kept the car. Hadrian called me about a car that hadn't even made it to the dealership and in the end I drove off with a 2016 CLS400, Hadrian is the only dealer I know that schedules an extra vehicle orientation to tell you about all the options and equipment that we didn't go through during the test drive; he even work with me via text on his day off. Last but not least Hadrian is no longer my car buying service he is my family and as long as Hadrian is at Charles Barker Automotive that is where I will buy my vehicles and refer all my friends and family. My wife, Tricia, and I wanted to lease a new Mercedes ML Class to replace the 2012 ML 350 we have been driving for 3 years. Hadrian Apoderado was our Salesman for the previous 2012 purchase at a different location and we desired to continue our relationship with him. We had provided our criteria for the next ML model as he had told us that several new features that increase safety may be desirable by us. He worked to close out the current active lease on the 2012 and their Charles Barker dealership was very accommodating in he buyout. Our new ML 350 was just what we wanted in the 2015 model and exceeded our expectations. Exterior and interior colors were what we desired and the lease was excellent to our budget. My husband and I were in the market for a Porsche, but just thought we would look and see what they had on the lot one evening. We did not want to bother a salesman, but if one offered us assistance we had plenty questions. Being 7:30, we weren't upset that no one came to help us. However, we decided to go back during business hours (not close to closing) that Friday and still no one offered to help us. Before we decided to just leave, Emre our Sales Professional came and offered to assist us. He was not pushy,very patient, and kind!!! We looked at both new and used items. We were swayed towards purchasing Mercedes based on a jewel we found on the lot, but left. Emre wanted to close the sale, but he was not aggressive and pushy. He called and reached out to us in just the right amount of time. He treated us like valued customers, but as people first!! He allowed us to take time to make our decision and was able to meet with us when we were ready to make our purchase. He remained professional the whole time and even took time to review all the options we considered and if there was anything he was uncertain of he knew who to contact and how to get an answer. It wasn't until we were about to close our deal that he revealed he was new to the establishment. He is the new level of service this place needs. Friendly, professional, caring, and patient!!! I'm thankful no one else came to assist us!!!!As for the dealership, you leave a lot to be desired for this to be a Mercedes Benz dealership. Nissan even makes fresh popcorn and has a plush seating area. Of all the Benz dealerships this one does not make the customer feel like they have purchased one of the most expensive LUXURY cars on the market. Step up your game Mercedes Benz of Virginia Beach!!!!!

We purchased a 2014 E350 Cabriolet. We did a lot of research prior to going to the dealership and got a great price for the car and a great allowance for our Mercedes trade-in. Negotiations were straightforward with no silly games and Rod Hamilton was a pleasure to deal with. All in all, it was a very pleasant and satisfying experience. This dealership has a new attitude under the Charles Barker brand - it is much more professional and trustworthy and lives up to what you expect from Mercedes.

I have purchased/leased 5 MBs over the years, the first 4 from Phillips Mercedes-Benz. After the relationship I had with Phillips, where I was treated very well both before and after the sale, I was apprehensive when Charles Barker took over the franchise. I was concerned with the "big dealership" aura versus the smaller, more personal relationship I had with Phillips. Last year I was in the market for my 5th MB, an S-Class, and met Steve Pflueger for the first time (the sales staff person, Bob Tucker, with whom I had previously worked had passed away). Steve was very helpful, guiding (not pushing) me into considering other options, colors, etc. I ended up purchasing a diamond white S-Class (I initially wanted only black) that is truly the best car I have ever owned. I strongly recommend Steve as a sales associate. He is very knowledgeable and experienced in both sales and the MB product line. I wanted to look at the new C300 Mercedes so my wife and I stopped by the dealership one day and were met outside by Steve Pflueger. We were very pleased with our buying experience dealing with Steve and the rest of the staff we met. Steve was very easy going and eager to answer all of our questions to help us make the best decision possible for our needs. We greatly appreciated that Steve wanted to make the buying experience as smooth and efficient as possible and have been very pleased with his follow up after purchasing the car.A couple of months after buying my car, my wife decided to look for a new crossover/SUV. The first person we thought of was to call Steve. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a model which addressed some physical issues my wife has. I was looking at three brands. I went to Steve Pflueger for the Mercedes because a good friend had recommended him. I have never had a better auto salesman experience. He was extremely knowledgable as my friend had told me. I test drove the car four times, On different days. Never did he become impatient, going through all the driving details each time. I have had many car buying experiences, and all other salesmen have made me mad with their "Lady, make up your mind" attitude.Since buying the car, he has continued to help me learn how to program and operate the car. I know he will be there for me whenever I have a question or issue. For this reason, I will continue to buy from him. So will my friend. His style suits me perfectly. I am an extremely happy purchaser, which makes me love the car even more ... And I do love my ML350.

Excellent customer service! The car buying experience can be overwhelming but working with Rod the process was easy. I had performed my research weeks prior so I was very clear in what I was looking for and Rod was no nonsense and showed me cars to fit my requested criteria. He was very knowledgeable about the MB cars and provided me with a great overview for each model. I have never owned a MB (I have only owned chevy Camaro) but I must admit...I'm loving my C-250!! Worked with a very nice young man (sales) who was trying to sell us a new Mercedes CLA Class. Finance Manager came back with a 3 year lease price that was unbelievable! It was literally over $100 more (per month) than they wanted at Tysinger Motors in Hampton, VA. I quickly left this dealership and went to Tysinger and leased a brand new MB CLA 250. I will NEVER do business with this dealership again. EVERYONE there, except our salesman (who was BRAND NEW), had an attitude that they were better than us and that we didn't belong in the showroom. I never felt so degraded and humiliated. I will never buy or lease from a CB dealership again! They're attitude and professionalism towards a new customer is rated as -10. Do NOT buy or lease a car from them!!

Worst car buying experience ever! If you don't wear your work suit into this dealership prepare for some discrimination! I was pre-approved from my bank as was still treated as a second class citizen. Not only did my paperwork not make it to finance. I had to find out from a finance officer that they sold both of the Mercedes class vehicles I was pre-approved to buy! Take your business to Tysinger Mercedes Benz. There you are treated as an equal and not some number on a sales board!

STEVE IS IN THE WRONG BUSINESS. HE DID NOT GREET ME WHEN MY WIFE & I CAME THERE TO LOOK AT A NEW CAR FOR HER. I HAVE NEVER SOLD CARS, OR ANYTHING ELSE, FOR THAT MATTER BUT I DEFINITELY KNOW "WHAT NOT TO DO" WHEN I DO DECIDE TO BECOME A CAR SALESMAN. ALTHOUGH THIS CAR WAS FOR HER, DID A TEST DRIVE, AND SHE REALLY HAD THE FINAL DECISION, SHE TOOK NOTE OF HOW I WAS BEING TREATED BY STEVE. HE WAS NOT VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE MODEL THAT WE WERE LOOKING AT EITHER. NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE WENT TO TYSINGER IN HAMPTON AND HAD A 100% DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE WITH HADRIAN...AND WE GOT A 2012 C250W FOR WAY LESS THAN $34K.
