My husband and I walked into the showroom at 8:15 pm last Friday to look at a used Prius which was listed on line. Several sales people were clearly available and one man was sitting near the door with solitaire on his computer screen. Not one person approached us to ask us why we were there. We looked at 4 or 5 new cars and still no one approached. So we left and purchased a car from another dealer the next day. I don't know which is worse, feeling like you're being attacked when they come swooping in on you the minute you walk in or being totally ignored, but neither is good.

I brought my daughter's car in to check on a recall. Jared Chaimukda was the Assistant Service Manager who handled my service. I brought the car in on Saturday had a 1:00 appointment. Jared took me right away, and guessed the time to be about and hour and twenty minutes. Turns out my daughter's car really needed to be repaired. Jared came out to tell me, and sent me home with a 2016 RAV4 loaner car (at no charge). Honestly, I am in foreign country when talking about cars. I don't really understand what they tell me. Jared was so kind and patient with me. He explained everything to me so that I could understand what was going on, and why this or that was important. This young man was so service oriented, I had to ask to speak to the manager. Due to his outstanding service, patience and kindness - I will bring my car, and my daughter's car in to Elgin Toyota! This "Assistant Service Manager," knows how to treat a customer. If Elgin Toyota is smart, they will promote him - he's an asset to the dealership! 5 STAR TREATMENT!! But ask for Jared! The service at ELGIN Toyota is phenomenal. Ryan Baum can take my description of a "clunk", "pssst", "squeak", or "thud", where I hear it and upon inspection can translate it into what needs to be fixed. If it is more than 1 thing requiring attention he can prioritize them and explain which is the most pressing repair. Ryan is the most courteous and knowledgeable service representative I have ever had the opportunity to work with. The service center maintains my 200,000+ miles Sienna so well that even at that mileage it is better than any other new vehicle I have ever purchased. I am so impressed with this service department that I travel 30 miles skipping all others to have my car serviced here.

I was traveling thru the Elgin area on I-90 and had some transmission issues. I had just had the transmission serviced in Muskegon, MI and was surprised to have something go wrong. I headed to the nearest Toyota dealer. These guys really took care of me even though I didn't purchase from there or likely will go back because I live in Michigan. I had my black lab dog with me and they have a pet friendly facility. I was allowed to have the dog in the waiting room with everyone else and they even had treats and water for him. We even walked thru the car showroom! They worked on diagnosing the issue and re-serviced the transmission. As it was discovered serviced wrong by a Toyota dealer previously, they didn't even charge me! They worked on it for 4-5 hours and didn't charge me a dime. They said they would handle it with Muskegon Toyota dealership themselves. Great guys and gals there and I highly recommend using them for your service needs.

These guys are professional, courteous and fair. I've been getting both my Toyota SUVs serviced here for the last six or seven years. They never force repairs on you and only tell you what you truly need done. They almost always provide loaner cars if your vehicle will be down for extended time. The new dealership is clean and they have a nice waiting area. Pricing is extremely fair. Wouldn't hesitate to refer any family or friends there for service or maintenance on their cars. Mike Barich and Ryan Baum are true professionals. Thanks guys. Keep up the great customer service.

Fermen has been excellent in assisting me with my new Avalon. Being a senior, the computer is very intimidating. Fermen had patience with me in helping me understand the many "entries" in the system. Besides, he is very knowledgable in all parts of the Avalon. He is very courteous in taking care of seniors - I know we seniors can be difficult in understanding any thing new.

A couple of weeks back I brought my 2012 F250 ford truck into Elgin Toyota on Rte. 20 that was in need of repairs. In the past I have used the Ford dealership in Elgin and have not been satisfied with their service. I decided to try the new Elgin Toyota dealership. When I arrived at the service department I explained to a Mr. Ryan Baum and Mr. Mike Barich who were both present at the time about the repairs that needed to be done, Both Mr. Baum and Mr. Barich were very helpful and courteous in assisting me. I also informed them that I needed new tires for the truck they were very informative about different types and price ranges that would best suite my needs and affordability. When I came to pick up my truck Mr. Baum took the time to explain in detail all of the repairs that were done. I had such excellent service from your dealership I will continue to bring all my vehicles in for service and repairs, I will also highly recommend to friends and family to contact Mr. Baum and or Mr. Barich to set up an appointment with your dealership for their service and repairs. Me and my Mother went to find me my first good car because I have a small child now. David Hudson who was our Salesperson. He listened to our wants and needs, and we wereel concerned about me not having any Credit. Jose was very courteous with us before the purchase of our new vehicles offering us a discount of 15% if we would need any parts or accessory. After a while we needed something for one of our cars, so we called Jose Gonzalez. Jose never answer the phone, I left a message explaining him what I needed, Jose never called back. To me this is an acct of irresponsibility and lack of professionalism.

I bought a used car here, over 12000 dollars. I felt like because I didn't buy a NEW car they treated me like second-hand. I had a small issue. When I purchased the vehicle I didn't notice that the radio antenna was missing from the vehicle. I mentioned it to the service person when I came for my first oil change. Not only did they not fix it, he ignored my concern. I called twice about it and twice was hung up on. Finally on my third time calling back I asked for a manager and was told I would receive a call back. 2 hours later the manager calls back and tells my wife she had to take up this service problem with the salesman that sold us the car. He also matter of factly quotes a price for the antenna, (50 or 60 dollars mind you) completely ignoring our concern that the antenna was never there when we bought the car. Mind you he had a pretty bad tone for a certified car dealership manager. I want to mention that my wife and I are not the type to harass service personnel and throw our "customer is first" weight around, but we certainly felt like we were not treated well. I finally received a call from my salesman Frank Cruz and he told me to come on in and just like that he came out with the antenna in hand popped it on, no big deal, I could listen to NPR on the radio. Frank is the reason for the second star that I'm giving in my rating of this dealership's service. I'd like to also mention that when I came for the first oil change about 3 months after buying the car (which they claimed could be a certified vehicle if I paid the extra money) they tell me that the front brakes are in the red and will begin gouging the rotors soon. I'm thinking: how could that be if the car could have been a certified vehicle? When you make a purchase of a new or newer model vehicle, you just don't want to feel like you're getting bad service. It was my intention to get all my service done with this same dealership, but I will not.

We just bought a Highlander from Elgin Toyota. We'd been looking at minivans for about four months and were focusing on a Sienna. We're dealing with back issues and weren't convinced the Sienna seats were going to work for us. David Hudson and Carlos Galvez were very helpful and arranged for us to take a Sienna for a day of extended testing. Still not sure about the seats after that we talked to David and Carlos who suggested trying the Highlander.The seats in the Highlander are more adjustable and feel much better for our issues. After more driving we picked a Limited for the additional safety features. David and Carlos did a dealer trade to get the color combo we wanted and still honored the originally discounted price we were offered. David and Carlos are both very nice, friendly and easy to work with. We appreciated their ability to work through obstacles and get us to a vehicle that works for us. Great job!

I recently purchased 2012 Yaris here and besides loving the car, I loved my experience with both the service team and sales team. I went to several dealerships before this one and this was by far my best experience. Ask when Angela Bucaro is working if you have the unfortunate time to get one of their newer younger male sales guys. Angela was laid back and not once pushy or aggressive the whole 5 hours I spent there. She and Dennis Sheahen from the service department made sure my car was in perfect shape before going home, they even go 4 new tires put on for me. Great service team and great experience.

The guys at Elgin Toyota have always been outstanding for all my car issues. I had a code pop up and make driving almost impossible, very little power. I limped into the dealership, and within a few minutes, they had a loaner, helped me switch out all the kids car seats (so much easier with help) and had me back to our family event in no time! Repair was done quick, and explained so I could understand it, and back on the road. These guys have always treated me like gold, and it is appreciated!!!

My sister purchased a car in December, and I tagged along for support. We love the vehicle itself, but there have been so many issues with the dealership that we just cannot justify. #1) After a grueling back and forth negotiation on APR percentage (their first offer of 18% was ridiculous and disrespectful) we finally told them we were no longer interested, as we had done our research and knew they were nickle and diming her. So the arrogant manager, Carlos, finally offered an incredibly low APR. He stated that a bank hadn't actually agreed to the rate he was proposing, but he knew they would on Monday, and he wanted us to walk out with the car. Fearing the sliminess of it all, we asked him MULTIPLE times if for some reason he couldn't find a bank to approve the low rate we would be forced to return and pay more (we live more than 1 hour away). He assured us that we would NOT have to come back, that it would never happen that way. Sure enough - 1 week later - we are told we have no choice but to come back in and sign a new contract for double to APR. In addition, they refused to put any of this in writing (even in an email) and they constantly told us they couldn't fax any information because their fax was broken. Lies - so many lies. #2) After being lied to and driving out a second time they forced a new license plate change. Odd, we thought, but legalities are what they are. Just last week they called us and said we need a 3rd license plate and needed to come back in. WHAT? My sister asked for a reason on the new change, they didn't have an answer. She asked for a manager to provide a reason and put that reason in an email. So far she's been given a run around. Why does this matter? We paid $300 on the contract for an extra key (so I could have one). When she called to request the key they told her to come back for a 3rd license plate change. Um, NO. Why do we have to drive another 2 hours round-trip for you to give us the key you owe (when they told us it would be delivered). And why a 3rd license plate? We've never heard of this before, ever. I closing, they do a lot of "salesy" run around, tell a lot of half-truths, and nobody really seems to have a reason for any of it. I will say that our first interaction with the sales guy Ricky was OK, he seems to be low on the totem pole but nice enough. But even then, there was so much game play and back and forth. Never again.

Both of our credit scores were excellent and when we tried to talk with the finance guy, he yelled at us about our other car decisions. Stay away !!!Had the worst experience ever with this dealership. I saw a car that i like online, the deal was really good but i live 4 hours away from this dealership but i decided to travel to it. I called the dealership on saturday before traveling to check availability and they said it was available. I was suppose to be there at noon but i ran into some issues renting the car and i called them to tell them i will be late and they said that is fine and the car is still available. When i finally got to the dealership they told me it was sold the day before and showed me on the computer that it was sold. when i told them that i called earlier to check i was told it is available, they said the system did the update late!! what kinda excuse is that. so i just went home 4 hours away .. I called the sales manager the other day and told her the story, she said that the car was sold while i was on my way and it is not their fault. When i told her that the guy in the dealership showed me that it was sold the day before i made the trip, she said it won't change anything to know when the car was sold and she can't do anything. She lied to me. She even said she is the sales manager but when i checked their staff on the website it turned out that there was no female sales manager.I was so pissed, they didn't seem to care at all , they lied to me and wasted my time and money. Don't waste your time and money just look for a car somewhere else.

I recently purchased a used car from Elgin Toyota. Due to unforeseen circumstances this is the third car I have purchased from dealers in the last year and by far the WORST experience and hardest dealer I had to work with. Contradictory statements were made on what 'safety' is, people not knowing what type of pay is accepted (if you don't know, find out before you say anything), unreturned phone calls and unwillingness to work with a returning customer made this a terrible experience. I WILL NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE I KNOW! If I was not under time constraints to get a car I would not have purchased from this dealer. My wife and I first went in took a test drive and then talked to a salesman. We noticed the windshield was cracked and were told since it was a 'safety issue' they would have to fix it before they could sell the car. We also mentioned that we would like to take the car to our mechanic to get checked out before we bought the car. The salesman said that would not be a problem. We gave him our bottom line 'out the door' price. He said management liked repeat customers and went and got the finance manager Mike Quigley. He gave us the price of the car which wasn't anywhere near what our price was. He told us that was it and walked away - literally a 2 minute conversation. No negotiating no alternatives 'nothing'. This kind of business just left a bad taste with us. I called back a few days later to up our price. Mr. Quigley told me the price he gave us did not include taxes which was to add on another 5 - 6 hundred dollars. Really! What part of 'out the door' did he not understand. After a few weeks of looking for a car we decided to bite the bullet and try negotiating once more. I called and talked to Mike Yorty a sales manager. After lowering the price some I told him I would get back to him. I called and left 3 voice mails for him but he did not return my call. I went in after work to talk to him only to find he was sitting at the front table joking with other employees. I asked him why he did not return any of my calls but he just changed the subject. We went out and talked about the car. I told him I would buy the car contingent on my mechanic looking at it. He said a used car is a used car. He said I would have to buy the car and if there were any 'safety' issues only those could be addressed. Why would I buy a car and turn around and dump a lot more money in it - even if it wasn't a 'safety' issue. That's why I wanted my mechanic to look at it. This was the only dealership that had this policy. Even Schaumburg Toyota let me have my mechanic look at a car before I made a purchase. He also said they would fix the windshield. Reluctantly I agreed. After talking to the salesman about 'safety' issues he called over another manager Carlos Galvez to clarify things. He told me the windshield was not a safety issue and that I would have to pay to replace it. REALLY! Two other people told me that a windshield was a 'safety issue'. After a phone call, he told me they would replace the windshield. The salesman told me how much I could pay on my credit card and the rest in check form. When I went in to finish the deal the financial guy gave me a lower amount that I could put on my credit card and the rest would have to be in check form. I did not have a check but had my debit card. After checking with 'who knows who' he said I could pay the amount the dealer had quoted on the credit card. What a headache!p.s. - after replacing the windshield they left my car dirty on the inside.

My wife and I recently drove an hour and forty five minutes to look at a 2013 Toyota Corolla at Elgin Toyota. We found the car through Cars.Com. Before driving to Elgin I called their Internet sales rep and asked twice on separate calls whether the specific car we were interested in was certified and whether the car was indeed priced at $13,400. On both calls I was assured that the price was indeed $13,400 and that it was certified. We decided to make the drive from Milwaukee because the Elgin Toyota Corolla had about ten thousand few miles on it (approximately 20K miles) than the exact same year and model Corolla that had been offered to us certified at Wilde Toyota in Milwaukee.When we arrived we were handed off to a sales person by the Internet sales Rep. I don't know why dealers do this. Why not continue with the same sales person? The new sales rep informed us that the car was not certified though it had gone through the certification inspection and could be certified. Certification however would cost an additional $2,400! So suddenly the Toyota now was being offered by Elgin at $15,800. But, the bait and switch wasn't over yet! We got in the car for a test drive and the salesman then told us that there was an additional $499 charge for cleaning and other "dealer prep" services. So now the Corolla was priced at $16,299. I was ready to leave but the salesman insisted on talking further. I told him flatly that we would not pay more than $13,500. So inevitably the "manager" came to talk to me. He implied that I lied about the calls to Elgin when I was told that the car was certified. He also told me that the price Wilde offered was only a "verbal" commitment that could be rescinded at any time. I told him that I don't do business that way---verbal commitments in my book are binding.The " manager" then offered to "cut" the certification price from $2400 to $900 and the "dealer prep" price from $499 to $90. So now we were at $15,309. We later found out that certification can be added to an inspected 2013 Corolla for as little as $600. At this point I was both disgusted and angry. I repeated that I would not pay more than $13,500. The "manager" stood up shook my hand and thanked me for coming. What a bunch of jerks. I will never do business with them again and will tell all my friends the same.

Got an offer of 207 per month on a 36 month lease for a RAV4 from the Internet salesman. Arrived 30 minutes later to find out that they sold their last FWD model a few minutes ago. Offered an AWD drive for 242 per month for 24 months with same down payment. Not that stupid....

This is my 9th Toyota lease. Two I believe through this dealership. All I can say honestly was that my recent car lease on Dec 12, 2014 went great. The two individuals I dealt with were very professional and courteous. They accomplished getting the best deal for me for a second time in three years. The Sales Professional contacted me a few times to come on in and see what they could do for me. I wasn't sure I wanted to trade in my existing lease for another lease so soon, but when the Sales Manager also contacted me, I thought I would give it a shot. Nothing to lose at this point. I was happy with my existing lease and no need to turn it in at this time. But I received such a good deal I think, I could not and would not pass the opportunity up. I can't say enough of how decent Don Smith, my Sales Professional treated me. The Sales Manager as well. I will continue to deal with this dealership and see them again in three years.

Pleasant enough until you decide you're interested. Negotiations are extremely high pressure, no budging off price and they try to inflate the price with a lot of add ons. Beware they don't do their own paperwork; they outsource it to a third party so you have to give a lot of personal information and money that isn't necessary with other dealerships who do their own. We went to Northbrook Toyota and got a great car at a fantastic price from a wonderful sales guy. Financing was a breeze. They even repaired two dents in the car at their expense. Picked up the car two weeks later because they wanted to make sure the car was perfect, and drove off. We love the car, the deal we got, and their customer service.

We love Elgin Toyota, this is the 4th car that we are buying from Elgin Toyota. Their sales representative are exceptional. On Saturday August 23rd , we bought a Rav4 from Elgin Toyota, and we had the pleasure to work with Otavio De Assis. He was very helpful and very pleasant. When we got there we were almost certain that we will not buy anything since we visited two other Toyota dealerships and the customer service was horrible! Otavio was ready to show us anything we want and was not pushy when we said that we did not like what he saw, as we were walking out the manager came up to us and said that if we are willing to work with them and let them show us another car close to what we want they will work with us a give us a great price! They did what they promised and exceeded out expectations and most importantly we love our car!!! We recommend them to everyone !!!Ask for Otavio when you go there he is one of their top sales representatives! He will find what you are looking for! We are definitely going back to them for our next car purchase!

We used the True Car buying service and were very pleased at how hassle-free it was. I discussed the certificates I had from nearby dealerships with Erica, and we agreed on a price. Later that day, we were met by Otavio at the door. He spent a lot of time with us and went over the Prius V in detail. There was no haggling over the price, although we did have to hear the sales pitch for the detailing package and floor mats. They brought out our ideal car from Chicago as we waited. Definitely a great way to buy a car and a great place as well Looking forward to their coming move, which will put them very close to us for service.

I had the same experience with Sales representative Carlos as mentioned by the other user review 'ToyotaFamily12'. I am loyal customer with Toyota for past 8years which has 4 years with elgin Toyota.And even couple of my family members brought there vehicles through my reference at elgin showroom.One day I received call from showroom asking me if I would like to consider trading my 2011 camry for new vehicle and set up an appointment for that week on Jul18th 2014. I had to wrap up my office work and stopped by the showroom with a plan to decide on my new vehicle.After 30 min of checking my vin and car sales manager asked me if I was willing to trade in today.for which I said I had planned in a week or two.I was not even informed about the options of cars they have or any offers going on.Then suddenly a sales manager Carlos came in ,gave my keys and asked me to come back after 2 weeks and his tone was very rude.Literally it was like get out of the showroom.I am very much upset with this experience and would like to share my experience before any other customers get treated like me.And to mention there was couple of them who arrived before me and shared same kind of experience.

I bought a 2011 Toyota camry form Elgin Toyota delaer. When I test drive the vehicle it was good and there was no Noise in the Tyres. So I decided to take the car. For delivering the Car , they took almost two hours and when i started driving back to my place with the new car, I observed noise coming from the Front Tyres. When I went back and asked them, they told me that their Service center is closed and they issued me ticket saying that the issue was with the Balancing of Tyres. Also they asked me to take it to any of the Auto center and they will servic e t for 10$. I agreed to them and drove back to my place. When I showed the Car in couple of Auto centers, they told me that the issue is not with the balancing and the issue is that the tyres are not rotating round and the tires need to be replaced .Also, they told me that there are 4 different brand of tyres on the car which we didnt observed. I informed the same to the dealer guys and they told me that they are not responsible for the noise. I got irritated and thought that nobody else should not feel the worst experience as I had.

Summary at the bottom.As a first-time car buyer, I purchased a 2014 Toyota Corolla LE today with the assistance of my parents. We had done extensive research into prices for this model locally and nearby states and found that Elgin Toyota of Illinois had the best prices. We exchanged many emails and phone calls with the internet sales staff prior to even visiting the dealership and they were courteous, prompt, and patient. We corresponded with Erica primarily and briefly with Nancy when Erica was off.The local dealers had suggested that there might be very limited inventory of the Corolla at the internet price that we were quoted. We decided to make the two-plus-hour trip understanding fully that we might come home empty-handed. At Elgin Toyota, we met Marlon Poole, the sale manager. Not only did Elgin have the Corolla that we wanted, but they also honored the price that they quoted. We did not need to go through the negotiation process at all because all of the email correspondence was kept on the computer. Marlon took his time to explain everything to me and made the buying experience truly wonderful. Let me list some of the things he did:He helped me decide on the color of the car by telling me about how the Slate Metallic color would have a higher projected resell value than Brown Sugar, the other color that interested me.We had been trying to decide between purchasing and leasing the car. Marlon comprehensively walked through the math with us and helped us decide on purchasing the car.After deciding to purchase the car, the dealership cleaned the car, but upon inspection I found that a small part of the car wasn't completely clean and needed some buffing. When I let Marlon know, he immediately went back inside, found a microfiber cloth, and started buffing the car (and in fact found spots that I hadn't even noticed). He also advised me to use microfiber cloths along with other useful information about how to keep the car well-maintained.One thing I really appreciated was that Marlon told us at every step what he was doing and what it meant, which made the process feel transparent. He was also very friendly, personable, and dedicated to making our experience as comfortable as possible.Later, we met with the Finance Manager, and because we had done our homework and worked with other Elgin Toyota employees like Erica and Marlon so closely, we were able to quickly wrap up the purchase with financing. Again, the finances were made very clear.In the end, I drove off the lot with a new Toyota Corolla LE, along with Toyotas standard 2 years of free maintenance, and also a guarantee from Elgin that the first time I get a dent or ding on my car, they will fix it free of charge. All in all, I had a great experience buying the car; as Elgin Toyota is upgrading to a new location soon, I can only imagine that their inventory and service will be expanded.Summary:Prices: 5/5 - Outcompeted local dealers without hassle. To be fair, we had already done a great deal of homework with internet salespeople, so your experience may vary.Service: 5/5 - Everyone we interacted with was professional, was friendly, and communicated with clarity.Car Condition: 4/5 - I don't actually really have any reason not to give this 5/5 but I just feel weird putting 5/5 all the time.I would recommend Elgin Toyota to friends and family.

I entered Elgin Toyota Scion to purchase a 2012 Salsa Red Toyota Sienna LE, with a blank cashiers check in hand. I entered Elgin Toyota Scion on a freezing Friday Jan 3rd, 2014 with my family after traveling over 40miles for a car I intended on purchasing. As I entered the facility looking around seeking a sales person I noticed no other person sitting at the desk 3 feet away or within a foot of me and my family greeted us except a Mr. Agustin Celaya, Sales specialist. They only stared at us saying not even a hello. Now looking in retrospect I should have left at this point, but since Mr. Celaya greet with respect and courtesy I decided to give the place the benefit of the doubt. He was an exceptional sales man, everything you would want, patient, respectful, answered all our questions, new his stuff and above all not pushy or overbearing. He didnt make me feel like he was trying to sell me the golden gate bridge. He showed be exactly what I asked for with no diverging to other vehicles and after the test drive I was ready to buy. We sat down to discuss the price and explained that if we could get the car for a particular price he has a deal, at which point he explained that he could not negotiate the price with us but, would speak to his Manager to see what could be done. After he walked away 10seconds later a man named Carlos Galvez , who I now know was only another Sales and Leasing Specialist sat down in front of us never introducing him self but only as a manager, he said in a loud and vulgar tone of voice NO, YOU ONLY CAME HERE FOR THE PRICE, MY DEALERSHIP HAS THE LOWEST PRICE IN ILLINOIS WHICH IS WHY YOU ARE HERE, NO OTHER REASON, BUT THE PRICE THATS WHY YOU CAME HERE ALL THE WAY TO OUR CITY FROM CHICAGO, I AM NOT NEGOTIATING WITH YOU ABOUT THE PRICE, THE PRICE IS THE PRICE, WHY SHOULD I NEGOTIATE WITH THE LIKES OF YOU I SELL 50 CARS PER DAY AND WILL SELL THIS CAR IN 10 DAYS. THE PRICE IS THE PRICE WE WILL NOT NEGOTIATE WITH YOU SO EITHER YOU BUY IT FOR THIS PRICE OR YOU CAN LEAVE. WHAT PART OF IM NOT NEGOTIATING WITH YOU DONT YOU UNDERSTAND He was very rude, disrespectful and in appropriate. I didnt even know his name at the time. As we verbalized to him that he should calm down in the way that he was speaking to us he then stated I can talk to you any way I want to because I work here. I had enough of being belittled, degraded, and disrespected and went to the main desk behind us where I asked to speak to the manager. At this point Mr.Michael Yorty stated that Mr. Carlos Galvez was the manager who just got promoted into the position. I then state that since he was the manager I wanted to know the name of the owner that I needed to be speaking with. Instead of supplying this requested information he proceeded to ask me my concern. Meanwhile Mr. Carlos Glavez proceeded to disrespect and belittle my mother while her grandchildren closely watched and listen while sitting along side of her, as they witnessed her get very upset. I explained to Mr Yorty that Mr Carlos Galvez was being very disrespectful and rude. Meanwhile, Mr. Michael Yorty proceeded to state Actually Carlos is our top salesman and we have never had a problem with him. I then walked back to my family with Michael Yorty stating to Carlos Galvez you are rude and disrespectful and if I talk to you with respect I deserve to be talked to with respect, you cannot talk to customers any way you want to and you here no one else raising their voice and being disrespectful except for you. He got up and at this point walked away. I explained to Mr. Yorty that I did not need Elgin Toyota Scions Financing that I had already come equipped with my own to make a purchase on the spot. What would you want? They should have been trying in their every power to make me continue being a loyoal Toyota customer, but instead. Mr. Yorty respectfully offered to give me $500 dollars off and since the damage had already been done from my experience with Carlos Galvez, but that's all. I respectfully declined his offer. My first encounter with Elgin Toyota Scion will certainly be my last nightmarish experience of which I will never forget. It is unfortunate that this experience had to be my first and lasting impression of this Dealership. I left my contact information and never even received a call or voice mail from the General Manager Robert Elis to apologize for the matter. I was very disgusted to know that Elgin Toyota Scion condones this behavior of their employees and treatment of their potential customers. Anyone in the Business or Sales field recognizes it basic business 101 to have professional and exceptional customer service etiquette. They know how important it is to gain potential customers and keep existing ones. Everyone knows that an important part of a growing business is by word of mouth through existing customers to future or potential ones. As a medical professional in our business I can definitely say that positive word of mouth, first impressions, how we make our customers feel through a positive or negative experience is the backbone of our grow, success and customer base. We work tirelessly on developing new ways to make our customers feel appreciated and pleased enough with their experience to pass on their positive experiences and reviews to other potential customers and in turn come back to generate repeat business. My parents have been a Toyota customer for over 24 plus years along with our other family members. When I spoke to my family and friends about my HORRIBLE experience at Elgin Toyota Scion they were shocked, saddened, and disgusted by the mistreatment of customers. If Mr. Carlos Galvez has a family shopping for a car I dont believe he would want them to be treated the way he treated us. Now I am not sure if me or my family want to patronize any more Toyota dealerships after this most traumatizing and horrendous experience, having such an insulting encounter with a so call sales manager. Is this how Elgin Toyota Scion treats their customers? Would you bring your business here?

Started looking for new 2014 Toyota Sienna on Memorial Day. After visiting and driving a Dodge Caravan, my wife and I realized what a great mini van the Sienna is. Arlington Toyota was very helpful and gave us a very good price but we wanted to check out a few more dealers. Grossinger Toyota lured us in with an internet price that they would not honor. We visited Bredemann Toyota the next day and sales man and price were very honest. We called Elgin Toyota from Bredemann and talked with internet manager Bob Keissmi. Bob told us that Bredemann was giving us a great price and we should buy it there. That night we received a call from Classic Toyota in Waukegan and sales man stated that he could beat Bredemann's price by $500. We left our house in pouring rain and drove 40 miles to Classic to be told that they could only match Bredemann's deal. Again we left Classic and drove to Bredemann to purchase Sienna from them. Because it was so late at night (9:00 pm), Bredemann asked us to return the following day to purchase Sienna. We send Bob an email the next morning mentioning we hadn't purchased the Sienna yet but gave him all details from from Bredemann deal and price.Bob reached out to us on the phone and said we had a great price from Bredemann but since Elgin Toyota was so far from our house he would take $200 off Bredemann's best price and he was first Toyota person to mention 0% financing for 60 months. We were so skeptical but Bob assured us that this deal was for real. We arrived at the dealership at 7:30 p.m. Thursday,May 26 and met with sales man Patrick Ellis. Patrick was given sale from Bob and had all paperwork and Sienna ready to go. Patrick drove with us and explained all car functions. We then went into finance office with Mike Quigley and got not only Bob's guaranteed price but 0% financing for 60 months. We left the dealership with new Sienna at 9:00 p.m.. We have been buying cars for 50 years and have never had a smoother or better experience anywhere. We can only praise Bob, Patrick and Mike for wonderful service. WILL BUY OUR NEXT CAR FROM ELGIN. This was only the second new car that I have purchased, first one in 36 years. I never liked buying a new vehicle - too many games played by the dealer. THIS experience was GREAT from beginning to end. Got a great quote to start the process (internet) and after comparing the quote from Elgin Toyota with my local dealership and another larger volume dealer in Iowa (they weren't even close), I knew the drive was worth it. Saved over $900 by purchasing from Elgin Toyota. The price was good, but the service was even better. I was thoroughly impressed. Erica eased my mind when I questioned the different prices for license fees from the local dealership and Elgin Toyota. She said that they quote a flat rate that is higher than what you actually pay for out of state customers and that my state would refund the difference (so we were getting an even better deal). I had called on a Friday about noon and said that I would need to pick up the car the next day. My local dealer had said that Elgin didn't even have the color of car that I wanted on their lot. Erica had Carlos check with other dealerships and they were able to get the car I wanted on the only day that both my wife and I had off together, so we had one shot to get this right. When we got to the dealership on Saturday, Carlos greeted us and set us up with Robert. Robert was very friendly and showed us everything we needed to know about the new car and even programmed paired both of our cell phones so we could use the hands free feature (state law in Illinois - which I didn't know) and not get a ticket. I can't say enough good things about the whole car buying experience that I received from Elgin Toyota. I am actually looking forward to buying new again and would HIGHLY recommend Elgin Toyota. GREAT people, GREAT prices, GREAT service.

It had been over 12 years since I bought my last car (Toyota Camry) and was very nervous about starting to shop for a new vehicle, but after decided to work with Elgin Toyota I know I made the best choice for me. I bought a 2014 Toyota 4Runner Limited and I love it. I drove over 2.5 hours to buy my vehicle and they made it worth it. Between the customer services team that I worked with on the phone (Erica and Bob) to the sales staff (Carlos and Otavio) through finance and even coming back to work with Rudy and service...exceptional experience.I waited until everything was said and done and I had my car for around a month now to write my review. I am as happy as I was when I left the dealership. I would recommend them to any of my friends and family and I know that if I ever needed anything they would be there for me. It is to their benefit to be a customer driven business, because they really wanted to earn me as a customer. Some of the dealerships I went to close to home honestly didn't really even care about earning my business and they wouldn't even give me the time of day. Was recommended to Elgin Toyota by Costco through their new car purchase program. I had filled out a request for a quote, ten minute process, and Costco forwarded it to Elgin Toyota. In less than thirty minutes I was sent a written quote and received a phone call from Erica and I made an appointment for Saturday morning. Walked up to the dealership door, was met by Don Smith and he immediately offered to help. I explained this was a Costco quote, he pulled paperwork and then took his time to show us multiple vehicles, explained option packages and offered a couple of test drives. In a short time we had a couple of options, colors, equipment, etc. I explained we were going to look at a different manufacturer, he did not try and stop us, no high pressure, he let the vehicle speak for itself. We did leave, go to a different manufacturer's dealer, test drove that, and then called Don before we even left the other dealer's parking lot. He said the car would be cleaned up in a hour, told him we'd be back in two. When we returned the car was out in front, cleaned and polished, and FULL of gas! Don took the time to review all the options, features, service explanation, etc. Waited a little while for finance to get to us (dealer was extremely busy), but was offered refreshments, and were constantly advised how much longer it would be. Finance department was a breeze when we did get in, new plates were already installed on the car and away we went. Had not met Erica in person but didn't need to, Don Smith took care of everything.

This is the third car we bought from Elgin Toyota since 2000 every time after visiting couple of other dealers. Every time great price, great service and most important NO PRESSURE... allow us to take as much time to think and shop around as we need but always there to help every time we call with the question. I went there about a month back and i was immediately greeted by Rob whom took care of the service process. He throughly explained everything and was very curteous. We bought a Prius V 2 years ago from Elgin Toyota and were very pleased with the sales experience. We like this dealership so much that we bring our car there for service, even though we live in Chicago. Everyone is very friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. When it came time for a 2nd purchase, we returned to Elgin Toyota. We purchased a Prius C last week. The sales experience was great (with one exception I will note below). Gary Doty is so nice and easy to work with--maybe the friendliest car salesperson we've ever dealt with. We wanted to trade in our Subaru Forester, but were concerned that the offered price would be too low (based on what we received for our last trade in and knowing that dealers typically do not pay much for trade in's). Knowing this, we took our car to CarMax first, to see what they would offer us. Elgin offered less than half of the CarMax price. When we showed Gary the written offer, he pushed for us to get only slightly less than the CarMax offer for our trade in. We accepted it as it was much easier than driving back to CarMax. The only minor issue with this purchase was Gary was not very familiar with the Prius C. It is understandable (I guess) given it is a relatively new model, and they haven't sold many of them. For example, he told us it had a back-up camera, and only after I read the written materials closely right before the purchase did we find out it did not. As this was an important feature, I would have been really angry to find this out post-purchase. Luckily we were able to have it installed (for an outrageous $800.00). I blame Toyota for not having this feature in this car (it is standard in Australia)! but the sales team should know these things. Also, when we bought our Prius V, someone (not the saleswoman) sat with us in the car and explained some of the features, and programmed things for us such as the GPS/home feature, entune system, etc. Gary did try to do this, but obviously wasn't familiar and was unable to. We had to spend some frustrating time doing this ourselves. I don't know if it was because this was a less expensive model that they didn't have their expert sit with us like last time or why this was the case. Having said that, this was only a minor detraction from a near perfect car buying experience. We will happily continue to bring both our cars to Elgin Toyota.

I tried this car buying service called CarBargains that contacts several dealers in your area and gets them to compete against each other for your business. I received 7 bids from dealers in the Chicagoland area and Elgin Toyota was the low bidder at $1,350 below invoice. I called Erica Mason on a Monday morning and told her I wanted a green Sienna XLE with AWD. They didn't have one in stock, but were able to trade for one with the dealer in Joliet. Erica sent me an itemized "out-the-door" price then and I saw that it was consistent with the markdown they had agreed to with CarBargains. I gave them a credit card number for deposit and they had the minivan in Elgin a few hours later. My wife dropped me off there that evening and I explained to Patrick Ellis that expediting the purchasing process for me would guarantee that I would give only the highest marks on the Customer Satisfaction Index survey from Toyota. He did his best and after filling out some paperwork and checking out the minivan, I found myself sitting in the finance office with Robert Soto. It didn't take him long to get me through the rest of the paperwork and I was out the door. I declined on all options, accessories, and extended warranties and was glad that they did not try to pressure me into buying them. All in all, I only spent about 30 or 40 minutes at the dealer for the entire transaction and can't imagine getting a better deal. I will never buy a car the foolish way again. Thanks CarBargains and Elgin Toyota. Most of all, thank you Lord Jesus for your great wisdom, mercy, and grace.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Despite some price reductions, I still felt as though the prices were reasonably high. The most difficult part was that I was receiving different or conflicting information at times. For example, at my first visit, I was told that my trade-in vehicle would be worth between $2,900-$3,500. However, at the first price offer I was given to purchase a car, I was only offered $1,000 for my trade-in. Ultimately, I was only given $2,500, and I was told that I was given way more than I should be for the trade-in.Then, after I had selected a vehicle and we had an agreed-upon price, it took a long time to wait for a finance manager, which I understand was atypical, since so many of them were out (some sick). It was Jan. 2nd. It was nice that one of the sales managers (Mike) told me to go home, since I had my kids with me, and we had been waiting a long time. We set up a different time to come back, but that was a hassle, of course.Also, I had been told at first that I could come back to finish the process on Jan. 4th, but then in conversations with other sales managers, it went back and forth as to whether my vehicle would be ready by Jan. 4th or not. Ultimately, it was.Augie worked hard and tried to help me as best he could with the sales managers.Prior to purchasing a new vehicle, I had thought I had offered a very fair deal on a used car (2013 Sienna), but the sales managers could not come to an agreement with me.

Elgin Toyota stood out to me, they provided all the details with the price of the car. in addition to the list price they provided a breakdown of all the other costs (new plates, county Fees, Taxes, and all the rebates that are applied) and the out the door price (which is something that the other dealerships in the area had not done). The price they initially offered was the best deal (and 200 cheaper than the next dealership's price). I never felt pressured into anything. they didn't try to bump me up into a different model of the car. overall I'm pleased with my purchase and I definitely would recommend this dealership.

I used the Consumer Reports online new car bidding service for the first time, and Elgin Toyota came up with a very competitive bid. It was enough to make it worth a 70 mile drive to go there, to see if the deal was real. Once there, I met with Robert Jacob. I was quite impressed. He took the online bid and made it happen! No games, no pressure to sell up or add options. Robert was professional, courteous, efficient, and friendly throughout. He got me a fair trade-in for my old 2000 Corolla and then we closed the deal. That was a Saturday. By Monday Robert called to tell me they located a new car exactly per my requested features and model. By Tuesday I was picking up the car. The delivery was smooth. It concluded with Robert showing me some of the new features of the car and a short ride to check it out. All things were in order and left happy. I would recommend Elgin Toyota, their on-line team, and in particular would recommend closing the sale with Robert Jacob.

I had been in the Market for a couple months looking specifically for a Toyota FJ Cruiser. So I had done a lot of homework and was watching lots of dealerships waiting for the right look and price. I am from Wisconsin, so when I saw several good looking vehicles in the Greater Chicago area, we put together a road trip to go see them. The first place we stopped was Elgin Toyota. I was first struck by the enormous inventory they had on hand, only to find out that what I saw was only half of what they had available (remote lot). The next thing I noticed as we walked up to the showroom was the friendliness of everyone. Yes I know they get paid to be friendly, but it was much more genuine than that. We had spoken to Augie Celaya earlier in the day about the vehicle, what a pleasure this young man is to work with. We had driven a Cruiser earlier in the month at another dealership and the pitch from the rear seat was annoying enough that we left. Not the case here, no push, just quiet, a few directions, info when we asked. Let me drive the vehicle. This was a 2012 and was in immaculate condition and the sticker was no shock. It had about everything I wanted except remote start, not a biggie. I may have stopped right there but not going to see the other vehicles could be recipe for buyers remorse. So we continued on our road trip and visited two other dealerships, the vehicles were nice, and the prices not far off. I was glad we went as it confirmed to me that the staff and vehicle at Elgin were probably right for me. So to make a long story kinda short... we went back sat with Augie, bargained and had some great conversation and laughs. When it came down to it we were not pressured for extended warranties or other extras, just made aware. I had a 2010 Elantra to trade and I don't think I could have got more for it anywhere. We drove away that night in the Cruiser, very pleased. Buyers remorse, whats that? I would recommended Elgin Toyota and Augie to any one looking for a good deal on a new or used vehicle.BTW. the remote start I wanted, Augie called me a week later, the second set of keys had been returned by the previous owner and there was a remote start with it... perfect ending to to perfect purchase. Bought a used car from Frank Cruz who was a good salesman not too pushy and good service. However after closing the deal with finance, keys appeared to be lost. In walks Tom Morris, Assistant Service Manager, Tom found the keys within a minute or 2 and we were on our way. 2 days later we found some issues with the car (check engine light, car bought as is) that needed somewhat potential expensive repairs. Back to the dealer we went, Tom Morris was there to greet us and we left the car. After service looked into the problems we needed what I am sure is well over $1,000 in repairs, we had driven the car only 10-15 miles. After 1 day in the shop Tom called and assured us the car would be taken care of and they had already started to take the engine apart for repairs. Several days went by and we talked to Tom on a daily basis and he assured us this would be taken care of. When we picked up the car, things were actually taken care of well beyond my expectations. I don't usually write reviews but Elgin Toyota, Tom Morris and the service team were outstanding, standing by the product they sold. I have had great service at other Elgin dealers over the years but Elgin Toyota was outstanding, will be back in a year or so to look at a new car for me.

Elgin Toyota internet department (RJ) was the first to respond with a written offer for a new 2014 Tacoma DBSC TRD Off Road, within 1h after the request! They also had the lowest price which was significantly below MSRP. -No other Toyota dealer matched the price or came back with a written counter offer-Ali (sales) did a great job keeping the price at the previously quoted level. No tricks, no BS.I planned on placing an order for the car to get it delivered 4-6 weeks later since Tacomas are not as common on stock at dealers, but Elgin Toyota located one at another dealership and transfered it within 24h.Overall very good Job from RJ & Ali

The way they build up how buying a pre cetified is the greatest thing in the world. I took my vehicle in within a month and havd to have $1300 worth of repairs. My brakes were shot they are the only place I heard of that re conditions brake pads. The brake rotors were shot but they said they could save the pads. Wheel bearings were also replaced. I wonder who is certifying these vehicles.

My dad and I went to the service one Saturday morning and cars were lining up one after another. We went in the service dpt to get my tires checked out since they were making clicking noises and wanted to make sure it wasn't something serious. Once we got there we were helped out by Rudy Rios. We didn't have an appt so originally we were told their availability was at 2 PM which meant 4 hour wait for something that seemed like it could take 10-20 minutes to look into. All the mechanics were busy at the moment, so Rudy Rios took the initiative to take a look at the caps himself to investigate the noise since he had some experience in the field. As he was investigating the tires he was thorough. Being a very busy morning one may show the need to rush and hurry things up but Rudy Rios had a very professional mannerism in which he gave us his undivided attention until the work before him was completed.

Customer service at Elgin Toyota is beyond excellent! I worked with several dealerships to negotiate the best price I could and Elgin was by far the best. RJ Krempasky was my internet sales guy and he was a pleasure to work with! I felt like he truly had my best interest in mind and went above and beyond to get me the best price he possibly could. His professionalism and promptness was greatly appreciated. When I arrived at the dealership I worked with Don Smith as RJ only does the internet side of things. Once again I was blown away by the above average customer service. Don Smith was not pushy at all like other dealers I talked to and was a genuinely good guy. This was my first new car and the first time buying from a dealership and I was a little nervous going into it. Don Smith made the process super easy and made sure to help me understand how everything worked. My nervousness went away quickly and he made me feel very comfortable and confident about the whole process. It is guys like him who exemplify what a sales professional should look like!! When it came down to the final paperwork I was passed along to Jose Gonzalez the business manager. Jose was no less impressive than the other two gentlemen I worked with. He also made me feel extremely comfortable with the whole car buying process. He was very fast precise with the paperwork and was able to workout an excellent deal for me on the financing. Once again I was blown away by the level of excellence that all three of these fantastic gentlemen exhibited. Overall my experience with Elgin Toyota was beyond excellent!! Because of the customer service I received I will be a loyal customer to their dealership for many years to come. There are several dealers closer to where I live and I will drive right past all of them to work with Elgin Toyota on my next purchase. We leased a new 2013 Toyota Camry from Elgin Toyota on 9/26/2013. Our salesperson was Carlos Galvez. We had a great experience with Elgin Toyota and Carlos helped move us through the process smoothly and without a hitch. We were pleasantly surprised that Carlos greeted us the minute we walked in the door in a friendly and non-pushy way. We told Carlos what kind of car we were looking for and he was able to immediately check the inventory and even pull cars from another lot for us to view. Carlos quickly got us ready for a test drive and answered all of our questions we had about the Camry and the options for our trade-in. After we decided on the specific car and the pricing, Carlos went over all of the features of the car and even paired my bluetooth phone with the car's system. We came to the dealership in the evening and Carlos was happy to stay with us, even though it was near closing time, until our entire deal and all of the paperwork was done. I highly recommend Elgin Toyota and Carlos Galvez as a salesperson! It was by far the easiest and most pleasant experience we've had in when at a car dealer.

Everyone that we worked with was extremely nice and helpful, especially Carlos and Robert. The only thing that wasn't pleasant is the fact that we had to wait 2 hours for financing and paperwork to be processed, and when I asked at 2 different times how much longer it would be we were told "just a few more minutes", I understand that this process does take long but be honest with people-a few minutes is not 45+minutes( I do not recall the gentlemans name who we asked both times). Overall all we had a good experience and felt very comfortable with the staff and our purchase!!!!!'

We have been doing business with this dealership since 1991. We have bought our last 6 cars here. On the rare occasion we have needed service - usually maintainance or detailing (and they do amazing detailing), we are treated like royalty. Professional, knowledgeable and kind. We are always given a loaner and unbelievable customer service. The sales dept is always helpful without being obnoxious. We always shop their price and always return to buy they car. We are shopping for a car right now. Unfortunately the Toyota that fits are needs is not aesthetically pleasing, however we can't bring ourselves to buy a car anywhere else. Our recent shopping experiences have only enhanced our feelings about Elgin Toyota. I am sure we will be trading some minor aesthetics for peace of mind.

It was a busy Saturday and there were many sales occurring on this day. I had a previous positive experience purchasing a Scion from this dealership and can attest to the service departments positive customer concern also. I have had all my service performed at Elgin. This dealership never disappoints me. Their quality and commitment to the customer extends after the sale is completed. I met the Sales Manager Mike Yorty after the lease price was agreed upon and the value of my trade considered. Mike congratulated me and took the time after the deal was made to come over and talk with me. He treated me as a person and not just another "sale". He came over again while I was waiting to enter the finance department, and even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon/evening, he took the time to ask if there was anything I needed, (coffee, water etc). He didn't have to come back, the sale was made, but he did because, I believe, this dealership really is committed to customer satisfaction. I have purchased in the past from Elgin Toyota due to its pleasant relaxed atmosphere. I was not disappointed returning to this dealership. I cannot say enough about the professionalism and true customer concern of these two men. When my lease expires, there is no doubt I shall be returning to this dealership. Purchased a certified used Camry from the dealer a few months ago; have brought it in 3 times to have a severe leftward pull checked. Each time they have said it was fixed; each time when I drive it home it is not. They have zero ability to diagnose and correct the issue. I will never return to this dealer to purchase a vehicle or have service performed on a vehicle.

I discovered Elgin Toyota while researching dealers in the northern Illinois area and decided to do as much buying as I could without visiting a dealership in person, aside from driving two Camrys in my local area: the XLE and the SE V6. Elgin Toyota was highly recommended by Consumer Reports Subscription service; I otherwise would not have been aware of this dealership. After making an initial contact with Erica Mason online, she was completely upfront with pricing, guided me through the options available on each vehicle and provided a simple and hassle-free car purchasing experience. When the deal was complete, I traveled the two hours to Elgin and the drive was well worth it. Although the paperwork took some time, I left with a new insurance card, new license plates and a Navigation system that was programed to get me home in my new Camry SE V6. Best new car transaction ever.

I cannot recommend the team at Elgin Toyota enough! After 4 days of visiting other dealerships I gave the internet a shot and strung up an excellent price over email that was very upfront, fair and without any bait type tactics. RJ, the internet specialist was very professional, patient, and helpful. The same evening, I visited Elgin Toyota and met Tancho and Mike who together found time to speak with me as they were closing up 3 other deals and the end of the shift. Everything was as advertised and I left with the car. The next morning I returned completed the paperwork and was out the door in less than an hour...WOW! Tancho hopped in the vehicle setup my phone and demonstrated all the options before letting me leave. I was personally thanked and welcomed to the family by the owner, met the service team, and left with some parting gifts on behalf of the dealership! I was upside down on my car and was expecting to get an older, used vehicle that would hold me over for a couple of years until I could get something new. I went to Toyota because I'd had good luck with Angela in the past and my folks buy all their cars there. My main goal was to lower my monthly payments and get better gas mileage. I was surprised that Angela remembered me! It had been almost 2 years since my last car purchase! I told her what my hopes were. Unfortunately, my car was too upside down to get anything used. Angela suggested that I think about a new 2013 Toyota. She said there were great incentives! She showed me the car and I loved it! It was roomier than I thought it was going to be and it had all the bells and whistles I wanted! Angela worked with me until we were able to settle on a deal that fit my budget! I couldn't be more thrilled!! She was able to put me in something new that I thought I'd have to wait a few years for and I'm now getting over 10 MPG more than I got in my old car!! It's rare to go buy a car and feel as though you're friends with your sales associate! I'm sure I wont need a car for a long time but when I do, I'll be going to Elgin Toyota to shop with Angela!! Our experience was great. RJ contacted us quickly after we express an interest on the Internet and e-mailed us a price on the model we were interested in. At the dealership we were met by Tom who showed us the Highlander we were interested in, he also showed a Versa after my wife saw it on the floor. We decided on the Highlander and Tom was with us through the entire process, explaining everything and answering all of our questions. In a little over 3 hours we had traded our van and was on the way home in our new Highlander. We could not have been more pleased with out experience. Elgin Toyota was not the only dealership to contact but they were definitely the friendliest and quoted the model we were interested in.

Rudy was awesome. Even though he was not our service advisor, he was called upon to help us connect our cell phones to the Bluetooth in our car. He got that done within a few minutes. Then I asked him about some scratches on my car. He took it upon himself to personally remove them. He tried with one cleaner it did not work so he tried with a second and a third and was satisfied only when it was all removed. Even though the dealership was busy being a Saturday, he took time out to help and answer questions. He had a big smile on his face the whole time. I purchased my used 2002 Chevy Impala from Elgin Toyota. During my initial visit to Elgin Toyota I was approached by a sales professional (Manfred Hoerr). I was immediately impressed by the professionalism and courtesy he displayed. I was also impressed with the wealth of information Manfred had for me regarding several types of cars I had interest in. I had mixed feelings between two vehicles (Impala and Malibu), so I decided to take a day to think about the purchase I was about to make. I expressed my indecisiveness to Manfred and had no pressure at all to make a split decision. I returned the next day with the decision to purchase the Impala. Manfred was very helpful getting me a great price. I was able to stay within budget and get the car I really wanted. After the decision always comes the paperwork but Manfred did a great job making the process enjoyable. He was able to fill out all paperwork and finalize the sale quickly, while providing the details and professionalism every customer deserves. I will definitely be back to Elgin Toyota and look forward to buying another car from Manfred Hoerr. When i went to Elgin Toyota i wasn't even sure if i wanted to purchase car at that time. I just wanted to test drive couple of models to see the differences between them. That is also what i told the salesman Moe. I was thinking that i wasn't going to get good service since i wasn't ready to buy one. Well, i was very surprised that i have received great customer service from Moe and his manager Bob. I have spend few hours at the dealer, both of them were very friendly and took their time to answer all my questions. Moe was patient with me and he actually made it quite pleasant experience. Well worth the drive!!!!If anyone goes for the jugular regarding salespeople, it's an old marketing/salesperson like me. Surprise! No complaints. These guys are wonderful, and I hate salespeople (greasy ones anyway).While searching for our new car, we met the good, the bad, and the ugly. Unfortunately, we experienced the bad and ugly first. We tried to work with our local dealership, bad experience. I turned to the Internet to get pricing information and educate myself about the car we decided on. From the first email through the entire sales process Elgin Toyota was awesome!I searched all, (yes, All) of Northern Ilinois for the best price. Elgin was second lowest, and matched the lowest price ( beware of other dealers that include discounts, assuming you qualify, but knowing you probably don't ). We wanted an extended warranty on our Prius because of the pricey solar roof and navigation system and they gave us a good price on this also. The sales team treated us wonderfully. No one should have to play bad cop good cop with the bullies in a sales tower. Elgin Toyota Doesn't even have a bully tower! The sales team made us feel welcomed. They were very knowledgable and consulted with us in a very friendly and professional manner. They stayed this way through the entire process. Carlos wasn't even our salesman, but he came in on his day off to go over the car with me. ( our salesman, Mike, had a family funeral). A week after we purchase our car, I was shopping for some bins to put in the back of the Prius, but didnt have the car with me. I forgot to measure the height under the back cargo cover. I called Mike to see if he knew, and he went out in the rain and measured for me. RJ in Internet sales started the process. Manager Bob K. Helped us, Mike H & Carlos are the floor sales team that worked with us. Do your due diligence, get pricing, or don't, I spent 3 days and have an entire notebook filled with info and I only saved an additional thirty six dollars. Save yourself grief and money, drive right past the bullies and go to Elgin Toyota.

I have been taking my car to Elgin Toyota for several years for scheduled maintenance on my 2008 Yaris, and the service has always been excellent. When I had an issue with recent brake service, Ankeet and Darryl were exceptional in listening to my issue and taking care of the problem. They took the time to explain the previous service and what could have caused the issue to persist while taking great care to take another look at my vehicle free of charge and make the adjustments. They provided me with a loaner car so they could make sure the job was done right and minimized the inconvenience to me. They promptly returned any phone calls and kept me up-to-date on my car's progress. They do appreciate their customers and will go above and beyond to resolve issues and make sure that service is done correctly. As I noted, I have been taking my car there for years without any problems, whereas other dealers in the area have not addressed concerns and have tried to up-sell unnecessary service. Elgin does not, and I appreciate them for that.It is a clean, efficient facility, and we will be comfortable bringing our car back even after what could have been a negative experience.

I arrived at Elgin Toyota on a rainy Wednesday afternoon having no intentions on leaving that day with a new car. When I walked in I was instantly greeted by a friendly, welcoming smile, "Hi my name is Carlos! How can I help you today?" - I was very apprehensive and thought I was going to be pressured into buying a new car. I have a lot of loan knowledge because I process auto loan applications for over 300 Credit Unions and Banks from all over the country so I was prepared to answer any questions, offers, deals etc that he threw my way. Even though I have a lot of loan knowledge, I have no dealership knowledge - I'm 24 years old and this was going to be my first individual auto purchase. I feel like Carlos treated me as a friend and not just another 'sale' (as I envisioned car salesmen do). He made my experience quick, easy, fun and unforgettable. I've only had my car for 1 week and Carlos has taken the time to follow up with me - check out how I like the car, if I was able to figure out all of the apps, sinc my phone through blue tooth, he even asked about my upcoming trip to California! Even though it was still raining when I drove off the lot with my brand new 2012 Toyota Camry, I felt like my day was a lot brighter; I just purchased my first new car (and got a great deal for it), I owe it all to Carlos!! Got me the exact car that I wanted in a timely fashion and offered a good price on my trade-in (compared to Car Max). Took lots of time explaining all the features and had the car ready to go. I am a female and I have been treated very rudely by other car dealers. This is not the case at Elgin Toyota. They will take the time to answer any and all of your questions. This is our third time buying a car from Elgin Toyota and Marlon. Marlon never pressures you to make a decisions and makes sure the car you buy is the right fit for you. It took me over a month to decide to buy a Swagger Wagon from Marlon. He never pressured me to buy and he took the time to help me weigh all of my options. Two bits of advise. One, if you are looking to purchase a car, go to Elgin Toyota and ask for Marlon Poole. Second, listen to Marlon! He knows what he is talking about. He will point out little things that you would never think about looking at. He draws your attention to little details that are often overlooked.

My husband and I were greeted with a smile and a handshake before we even entered the showroom by Gary Doty. Bob asked us a few questions to understand what we were looking for and left us in great hands with Gary. Gary walked us over to the stock of cars that fit our needs and we test drove the one that best fit our request. As we were trading in an 8 year old Toyota Sienna for a 2013 model I thought I already knew everything I needed to know about the Toyota minivan. However, I was pleasantly surprised with all of the new features in the newest model. We had a few items that were "must have's" on our list, and this location did not have the complete package on their lot. Gary and Bob found the one we wanted at their other location and had it ready for pick up the next day. When we arrived to pick it up, it was clean, the carpets were in place, all of the stickers were off of the windows and they quickly transferred my plates. Gary walked us through all of the in's and out's of the car in great detail. I highly recommend the Toyota Sienna to any family! These vans have been very reliable for our family and extremely functional with the seat locations and storage options. I am so grateful for the customer service given to us by Bob Ellis and Gary Doty!! I would highly recommend these two professionals to my family and friends in the future. I was really nervous considering it was my first time but from the friendly service to the great choices, my nervous energy was replaced with complete excitement. I decided to get myself a car for my birthday considering it was time I got a new one anyways. And although this was my first time purchasing a car on my own I was mostly scared because I've heard from everyone how troubling that can be. But it wasn't at all here. Moe (I can't remember his last name) was the salesman and he took his time with me. I wasn't sure exactly what I was looking for, but he put all the options on the table. He wasn't even annoyed that I wanted to test drive like five cars. I got a Prius and that car has become my baby! After talking to Moe I had to sit with his manager, Bob K. Bob also took his time with me. He helped me with a great financial plan and made sure I was 100% comfortable. Both Moe and Bob didn't rush me into anything. They even waited patiently while I called my entire family confirming if I was making the right decision. I definitely did! I recommend Elgin Toyota for anyone of any age. I began my search for a car using several internet sites, determined the car with the features I wanted and then contacted 5 local dealers to begin the actual buying process. After contacting three, it was very evident to me that the sales team at Elgin Toyota was very knowledgeable, friendly, not pushy and actually seemed very interested in making sure I was given every opportunity to see the cars that fit what I was looking for and they went above and beyond what I expected in obtaining the car I wanted even though it was not in their current inventory. I do not like buying cars but this is the best experience I have ever had with the process. I found the used car I liked on line, called in and spoke to Mike Herbert, Sales Professional, to confirm the price and that the car was still available. He was waiting for my wife ( the car was for her) and I when we got there. We took a test drive and returned to his office to finalize the deal. In the process we met Bob Ellis, General Manager and Robert Soto, Finance Manager. Also Rob Starosta, Assistant Service Manager, was very helpful in getting some marks on the body corrected to my complete satisfaction. Everyone was friendly and helpful, an overall good experience.

I had purchased a new Prius 3 recently and the reason for this post is just to re-iterate what a nice dealership along with their sales man Bob Jacob were to deal with. I recently stopped in to a Toyota dealer on South Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando and was treated so badly and unprofessionally that it gave me renewed appreciation for Elgin Toyota so I'll probably give them any future business. I'm happy to have them in my back yard in Elgin. They do it like it's supposed to be done, honestly, respectfully, and very professionally.I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

I have never had a better experience buying a car! Marlon was awesome, got us the best deal (and trust me - we shopped around!) AND treated us with respect. We came in with an expectation to have yet another disappointing and frustrating experience and we left the place as a happy couple of Toyota Sienna owners. Halfway through the whole deal I told Marlon that I would leave reviews for him and recommend him even if the deal did not go through. But it turned out Marlon was going to work with us to get us what we wanted, and then some :). We waited a bit longer to sign the papers, because there were a lot of people in that night, but once we were in the office - we were out very fast. All in all, awesome experience and will come back here.

I came to Elgin Toyota today to have my car looked at for noise, I have to admit I thought that they would look at me like I was crazy when I got there. Instead I was greeted in the drive by the name of Ryan. He was so professional as soon he approached the car. He had a smile on his face that made me feel welcome, he then asked what could he help me with. At this point I thought in my head ok here goes nothing and im sure he's about to look at me like im nut's when I tell him my issue. Instead he was more then helpful. He asked several different quetions to help pin point my concern. So I left the dealer after this and waited for a call, around 2 pm I received a call just as I was told. I have to admit at this point I thought ok here comes the sales pitch. But was I wrong. I have to admit in my mind I planned to try a tactic to see if he would just try to sell me something extra. So he prceeds to tell whats going on with my car and what they found during the look over on my car. So I figured here is my chance I challanged him on the back brakes, knowing i just had them done not long ago. He replied nope brakes all look good. Then at that point told me what the cause of my noise was. He let me know about a few other things that needed attention also. He explained what the car will need in the future so I can be prepared for that expense. What I must say about the way I was treated has now made me look at dealers in a different way. He went so far out of his way I can say Elgin Toyota will now be my one stop shop. I also Let him know that I would only like to deal with him in the future cause I was so amazed at how I was treated. Please If anyone ever wants a great experiance ask for this young man at Elgin Toyota.... Thanks again Ryan and keep up the hard work.

We had a great experience and an excellent deal!! I had been going to Elgin Toyota for my service work for many years with my corolla and had loved their service. My family is growing with three kids we need to move up in size vehicle and we received a letter of promotion from Elgin Toyota. I had contacted the store to see what the bargains were and spoke with Bozena, she was very patient with me. She went over my options and different finance incentives and other questions and concerns I had over the last three weeks. We came in three different times to test drive the car and to have our car appraised. We met with the manager Adrian and he was nice enough to go over the different options as well. After getting them to give a little more for our trade we finally made a decision and bought a new Sienna and we love it! Was desperately looking for vehicle for my new job. Went online and had found a couple of cars at Elgin Toyota. Called up to see if they were available and spoke with Moe. He said he had to check to see if they were available and would let me know. He called me back to let me know that the cars had been sold and let me know about another vehicle that had just come in. I was reluctant about this from all the stories you hear that this was a game that you hear so often. Nonetheless I came in and found that the car was nicer than the others I had seen. After driving the car and going through the numbers I thought that this would be out of my range. After meeting with the manager, Adrian, he figured out a way with the certification program to make it affordable. Hooray!! I got a car with little hassle! I recommend these guys they were great!!

I purchased a new 2012 Toyota Tacoma from them and requested that they install an aftermarket remote start. I started having issues with the remote start where it would not open the doors, or start the truck. I spoke directly with Michael Barich, their service director who instructed me to bring the truck in at my convenience and that they would resolve the problem. I brought the truck in and spoke with Ankeet Patel a service advisor. They had trouble duplicating the problems I was having but he decide to keep the truck for a couple of days to try to duplicate it. I was given a loaner to drive. After a day, Ankeet was able to duplicate the problem and they wound up replacing the entire system. I was very happy that they took the extra time to try to duplicate the problem. I have had the truck now for a couple of months and have not had any issues with the remote. By the way, I also got a very good deal on purchasing the truck. I have purchased two other vehicles from there, my daughter and her husband have purchased three vehicles from there and each time we have had a great experience. I will go back there again when it is time to purchase another car, or bring my cars in for service. I know that they will provide quality service at a fair price.

I was driving a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Really liked this car! Very good friends of our have a 2012 Toyota Sienna. Drove it up to Minnesota in 2012. Loved the ride, features & look of the minivan. My wife & I decided in October 2012 to get a new car, before ours started to need repairs. I went on line and Elgin Toyota was the first dealership to respond to my inquires. I went to the dealership and met Marlon Poole. He was very friendly and professional. We went over what I wanted in my new auto and he showed me a 2013 Sienna that had most of the features I wanted. After a week to 10 days of bargaining over the price of the auto and options I wanted, we reached an agreed upon price for the auto. I was very impressed with the process, dealership cleanliness and the friendly, professional manner of every employee working there. I feel very confident I will receive the service for my auto, in the future, at this location. So far, any question I have asked has been answered satisfactorily. I have just gone over 5,000 miles and I will be going in for my first maintenance, oil change, this Monday.

the overall service was POOR, i came to Toyota Dealership just to change oil and check the filter plus the routine labor that comes with it. However the service that I received was horrible. Fist I spent 3 hours waiting then I revived my car back. Then very next Day what I see underneath my car? HUGE OIL PUDDLE. Thy are unprofessional I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN !!!!

I tend to be weary of car salesman, yet Carlos and his team cut right through the stereotype; he was helpful, low pressure, friendly, and I really feel like he and his sales manager did everything they could to get us the best rate and deal possible. They even helped us get the loan and APR we needed to afford the purchase. I never understood when people would just go to one dealer and wouldn't shop around for the best rate... I always assumed it's because price is no object for those people. But now I understand that when you find that honest dealership that really goes above and beyond for you, you will get one of the better rates and certainly some of the best service.

I originally went in on a weekend to test drive a new car, and was irritated by the pushy sales BS so I decided to wait and think things over and maybe look into other dealerships (red flag #1). When I looked into other dealerships I found better prices and less pushy salesman (red flag #2). The lower prices were not something Elgin was interested in matching or coming back with something competitve - as this dealer was only interested in playing games, pointing fingers and saying things about other dealers (red flag #3). I finally told them I wasn't interested and to leave me alone, but they kept contacting me (big red flag #4). In the end, I purchased from a completely different local dealership where the sales folks were extremely helpful, no pushy tactics, did not focus on the name game and pointing fingers at other dealerships and really did give me the best deal possible on my new car and trade. This all took less than an hour whereas the first round of disaster at Elgin Toyota was about two hours long, plus another full day of e-mail.At the end of the day you purchase a car where you feel most comfortable and that you are getting the best deal. I didn't get any of that from Elgin, just a myriad of red flags so I went elsewhere. And, while my experience at Elgin was probably the worst I have ever had, someone else may have different experiences with different sales folks. This is just about my particular experience.

I was in the market for a mini van and had narrowed my search down to either a Honda Odessey or an Toyota Sienna. I had test driven both and preferred the Sienna, but could have gone with either vehicle. I had concerns with negative comments I had heard about the local Honda dealership and when I visited Toyota I was pleased with how attentive they were. The whole purchase experience was made quite easy. They found the exact vehicle I wanted and offered me a fair price and a fair trade-in on my first visit to the dealership. I had gone to take one more test drive and to get their beat price, so my wife and I could make a final decision. Instead, thanks to Carlos being prepared to make a sale and making the process easy and efficient, I made a purchase. I returned the next day to pick up the vehicle and I'm now the happy owner of a Sienna. I look forward to having the same excellent experience with the service department in the future.

I have previously purchased and leased Toyota's at this location many years ago and was reluctant to go back because of an unpleasant experience, but I thought i'd give them a shot. This experience was completely different than that of many years ago, reason being, there is a new owner that seems to have the right combination to do things right. The sales staff is friendly, but not over-bearing or pushy and fair and trustworthy.They had the most competitive price out of two other dealers I visited, had the most inventory to choose from, not to mention the friendly and helpful staff. We are very happy with our new Prius and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle.

I was in the market to lease either a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic based on the then current lease deals being offered. I visited Elgin Toyota first and was greeted by Adrian who then introduced me to my salesman Otavio. He was very friendly and attentive to my questions and concerns. After taking my information he brought out a Corolla for a test drive. My son was with me. I was surprised when Otavio allowed us to take the test drive without going along and told us to take our time. He explained the features of the car very thoroughly before we left.Upon our return, I told him I liked the car but was not ready to commit just yet as I was going to look at the Honda Civic. I did ask for a price for my trade in which Adrian provided in a short amount of time. We then went to the local Honda dealer and received the exact opposite treatment. I was very disappointed in the lack of customer service I was totally turned off by that dealership and while sitting there, made up my mind to go with Elgin Toyota. We went back later that night and leased the Corolla and was once again treated very well by Otavio, Adrian and gentleman in the finance office. (sorry, I forget his name) Otavio went over the car with us to make sure everything was all right and even had to go get the floor mats that he promised us. He is the one who noticed they were missing, I would not have realized it until later.I will definitely go back there for my next car and would highly recommend Elgin Toyota to anyone in the market for a new car.

I purchased a Toyota Avalon because it met the 3 critical criteria I set . . . 1) front and rear leg room equal to or greater than my 2007 Buick Lucerne; 2) a "quiet" rating equal to or better than the Lucerne; and 3) the likelihood that future repaires would be minimal. I researched all these items (and many more) on Consumer Reports . . . and then VERIFIED them by test driving the cars (the Avalon, and the Lindoln MKZ). The two cars were almost equal of every ranking . . . I ultimately made my decision to buy the Avalon based on the experience I had at the Dealership. Gary Puglio is the most professional sales consultant I have ever worked with . . . and the support team was equally competent and cordial. There was never any pressure . . . in fact, Gary maintained a helpful and professional posture even when I got a little cranky during the price negotiation. I would definitely recommend the dealership, and will buy from them again . . . especially if Gary is still there when I need another car.

I was looking for a new 2012 Camry and approached several dealerships online for inventory and pricing. Elgin Toyota was the first to contact me and was very friendly and easy to communicate with on my schedule. They offered the most reasonable price and even though there are at least 3 Toyota dealers closer to my home, I went up to test drive the Camry in Elgin. Again they were very friendly and the price was right so I made the purchase from Elgin Toyota. I can't say enough about their online staff because THAT is what got me in the door. They weren't pushy and were able to communicate mostly thru email which allowed me to get information throughout the day on my schedule. I would highly recommend Elgin Toyota.

I had an outstanding experience with Elgin Toyota. My sales person, Bo Lyznik, could not have been more knowledgable and friendly. I also had a minor scrape with a low wall of bricks surrounding a driveway five days after buying my new car. Elgin Toyota repaired it to perfection and only charged me $154.00! WOW! We bought a Prius V from Elgin Toyota and walked away very pleased. I always get price quotes through the internet before going to a dealership in order to make the best use of my time. Elgin Toyota was quick to give me a quote and they did not waiver from their offer when I visited the dealership. Finance guy was great. He was able to match a rate I got from my credit union so I didn't have to go all around town collecting and delivering cashier's checks. I am probably being a little picky, but they could have been a little more organized because we spent way too much time waiting for help after returning from a test-drive and waiting for the finance dept. I wanted to make sure to give this constructive feedback for potential improvement. Overall, would definitely recommend this place. I will give them first shot to earn my business on my next Toyota!

I got in contact with a few Toyota dealers in the region using the Build and Buy New Car Price service accessed via ConsumerReports.org. Amy Volkering from Elgin Toyota was one of the 3 dealers that responded to my request and she was able to provide the best quote with a price below CR Bottom Line for this area and also below invoice. We communicated by email until I met her at the dealership and Amy was very quick to respond to all my questions and requirements, including getting from another dealer the 2012 Sienna LTD Toyota with the interior and exterior color and options I was looking for. I told Amy in advance I needed to get in and out of the dealership very quickly and once the Out the Door cost was agreed we scheduled the day/time to get the vehicle. I was able to get in and out in 2 hours including a 20 minutes test drive. When I got to Elgin Toyota the car was ready for delivery and Carlos helped me with the paperwork and the trade-in. I had a bit of additional negotiation on the trade-in but I got to a final price in the lower range of what Amy mentioned as possible for my trade-in. This was my first experience with Elgin Toyota and Im happy to recommend them for being so friendly, their outstanding customer service during the entire transaction and having the best price in town for my new 2012 Sienna.

I originally was leasing a 2010 Rav 4. I received a phone call from TFS stating if I wanted to turn in my lease and either buy it outright or purchase another one. They would buy out the remainder of the nine months left on my lease. So I went in and spoke with Ali, he was very nice guy, and not pushy like alot of salesmen. He found the vehicle in my price range and options I wanted. At another dealership for me. They promised I would have it on Monday. That Monday morning I received a call from Ali stating the car was there and they were going to clean it up. After work I stopped by and signed the papers and my car was ready to go. They even thru in a remote starter for me to close the deal. It was a pleasure doing business with a dealership who actually lives up to their promise. I would highly recommend Elgin Toyota!

I was very disaapointed with the service . I called ahead and was told i needed vin number for a new key , proof of ownership. The worker in the service desk was not friendly , my car is under my dads name , but i took proof yet he was "unable" to help me because my father was not with me ? He did nothing to help and was being rude . Its ridiculous i went to the shamburg toyota and they made my key in no time without any problems . I would not recommend this toyota dealer at all .

This place has the slowest service I have ever experienced. I went in for a simple oil change that the Schaumburg Toyota guarantees done in 30 min or less. It took an hour and a half at Elgin. I also scheduled an appointment ahead of time and I was asked my name, address, phone number, and email a total of 3 times, twice on the phone and again once I got there. Scheduling the appointment itself took over 10 minutes on the phone (most of it spent on hold and then repeating all of my information twice to two different people). Overall, if you enjoy wasting your time sitting in a room for half an hour longer than your expected wait time then this might be the place for you. If not, then I suggest you go somewhere else.

I'm from the Rockford IL area and was originally looking for an outright buy of a used Toyota Tundra. After finding none that were in great condition or no one would negotiate I decided to look into new. With the end of month (and quarter) I was surprised with the aggressive pricing with most dealers. Amy gave a decent price over the internet and there was not any playing around to get the sale done. Overall I gave them 4 stars because I don't think anyone gets perfect scores as we can all always do better but these guys did a decent job as far as reputations of car dealers go. I will tell everyone that reads this never go to Anderson Toyota in Rockford. I bought a 2000 Tundra there in the winter of 1999 and they negotiated well. But I tried to buy a new Lexus IS 300 years ago and ended up in Dundee. Didn't even consider Anderson for a new Scion XB and tried to give them a chance after years of ignoring them to match Elgin's price on the Tundra which they said they would over an email and phone call. Then when I went in the next day the sales manager took back the deal after they said they would match the price. You can read what happened in detail on their actual rating I gave them but listen to me all of you in the Rockford area!!! Don't even waste your time in the new pretty Anderson dealership in Rockford. Take the 30 minute drive and do yourself a favor and blow off Anderson and give these guys a chance. It's a Toyota people...the chances of you taking your car/truck to have things repaired is rare if you take care of your vehicle. The Anderson "attitude" of where are you going to get it serviced and thinking people are stupid and not going to shop around cost them more sales than they have a clue. Get the eprice from dealers that offer an eprice on their web site directly which Elgin does. If dealers don't offer it they will be higher in general. It's the best way to get a lower price than walking in and wasting time from dealer to dealer. FYI Anderson doesn't even have an eprice option on their website. Elgin Toyota did a decent overall sales experience for me and I would recommend giving them a chance.

I walked into the dealership on a Saturday morning. What brought me in was a letter I received in the mail stating that Toyota wanted to buy back my 2009 Yaris and offer me a good deal on a newer vehicle. I did not have any intentions of purchasing a vehicle. I thought I would go there and find out it was too good to be true. When I first pulled up at the dealership, there were three salesman standing outside. They looked ready to pounce on the first potential customer they saw. I ended up being greeted by a salesman named Justin. He casually approached me and asked if I needed help. I showed him my letter and asked him to tell me more about the offer. He led me to his desk and we filled out some paperwork. He was a very good listener and extremely responsive to my needs. I explained that I wasn't really in the market to buy a new car, since my car was not even 3 years old yet. Also, I told him that I had 0% financing on my current car and that I was not willing to give that up. Justin helped me to find a car that had 0% financing for 60 months and was in my price range. He let me take the 2011 Corolla for a test drive and of course I fell in love with it. I told him if we could work out the numbers then I would buy the car that day.Justin worked between myself and his sales manager to come up with an agreement that was mutually beneficial. What was most impressive was that even after I had signed the bill of sale, Justin still took the time to walk me through all the features of the new car. He spent an excessive amount of time trying to set up the bluetooth function. He was really helpful in getting acclimated with the new vehicle. The next day I came into the dealership to let him know that once I got the car out in the sun I noticed a bunch of swirl marks and scratches on the hood. Justin pulled my car into the service department immediately and in an hour's time, I drove off the lot with a completely buffed and waxed vehicle.I am very happy with my new car, as well as with the level of service I received from Justin. I will defnitely be recommending friends and family to him in the future.

I stopped in an hour before they closed on a Saturday. Everyone seemed friendly, but because I am a younger person I Washington passed off between salesman who were thinking I wasn't serious. After being introduced to 3 different people, someone figured they should show me the scion tc's that I had expressed interest in. Marlon ended up being brave enough to help me out in my car search. He was very patient and helpful in suggesting cars. It was a little after they closes and he stayed late and offered to let me take one home for the weekend. I was presented with paperwork telling me what my monthly payment would be if I decided to purchase the scion without a down payment and with a down payment of $7,000. With no money down it would be $386 and with the down payment it would be 232. I took the car for the weekend and told them I would be coming in Monday with a down payment to purchase the car. I was told that the car was $15,000 and that the price was nonnegotiable because of the scion pure pricing. I was told that they certified the vehicle as well, but just did not have time to detail the car because it just came in. This was fine with me, they said they would detail it on another day for me and give me another car to use for the day. I have no complaints about Marlon my salesman, he was amazing. I feel I was ripped off by the financial service guy, Mr. Soto. The way he presented the information during signing was to his benefit, not mine (I'm sure he make xommissi too). He told me the price of the scion being $15,000, the interest, tax, title and license. This was fine, then he showed me a piece of paper with four or five different packages and what my monthly payment would be written underneath each. I was given the impression from him that I had to choose one of them because it was already included in the price I was originally quoted before I took the car for the weekend. I chose the second option for $275 (the highest being $300). I was thinking that these were the monthly payments before my down payment was factored in (of course it already was factored in and he did not tell me). Then he starts signing a big stack of papers, then hands me the pile and tells me where to sign for my car.I went through the papers as soon as I left to discover that I was charged $16,600 for the car purchase price and with everything the total amount was $24,900! I called him up before they even closed that day and he said that I had to pay an extra $1,500 to get the car certified (which they keep insisting was already certified) to get a lower interest rate. When the math is done on it, it is a wash between the lower interest rate and the used car rate. I told him that if he would have told me that I would have opted out and gone with the higher interest since my goal was to pay it off early anyway. I was charged more for this uses car than it would have been to buy a bran new 2012 scion tc. I was sold a two year maintenance package that only includes 6 oil changes for $600; that's $100 an oil change! Lo Jack was also in the package, which ended up being $1,700. I went back there the next day having been unable to sleep at all that night. I tried to get out of as many packages as possible. I was told that I could not cancel lo jack, that I was stuck with it as well as the monthly payment of $300. Any changes in the amount due would just cut off the end of the term. I am still pissed about this situation. I guess I should have taken my father in with me and listened to rumors of how car dealers always try to rip off girls.The next problem I had was with the service department in detailing the car I was now stuck with. They were very nice, and had me make a list of anything at all that I saw out of place or damaged.I gave them the list and made n appointment to come back in later that week. They decided to take the car when I went in to try and get out of my contracts. They gave me a car to drive and I was on my way. They had the car for 3 days. When I picked up the car, they had me walk around it and showed me how theu fixed the seats. I was running late for work so I said okay and took off. On my way to work I noticed that they had not cleaned the car at all. The same grime and sticky stains were in the car from when I first test drove it. Um okay, I was debating on whether or not to just clean it myself, but then I was reminded by a friend how much money had just paid and I called Marlon and told him about the dirty interior. He had me come in the next week so it could be detailed because they may had just forgot to do it (weird, I thought that was the reason I had left it there for 3 days). So I went in on must day off to get this car cleaned. I was told it would probably take 30 mins maybe up to an hour. They gave me another car to drive for an hour (this car smelled like vomit and was dirty). I came back in an hour and then had to wait another half an hour on top of that. When I hot the car I immediately lifted up the consul to discover the same sticky residue from before. I told Marlon and he cleaned it there himself. That was over the top, I felt bad that he had to clean it and was embarrassed. I didn't tell him that the doors had buildup along with the steering wheel, shifters, odometer and vents. All they did was wipe off the dashboard with amorall and call it a day. Very bad service department. I even noticed later on that they didn't fix some of the paint that chipped away and they said they would. I ended up cleaning the car on my next day off, so it is finally cleaned properly.When I was telling my insurance agent about my car purchase, he told me that the car had been in five accidents. He asked if I was given a carfax, I was given a carfax, but not until after I signed the papers. Then I was given the carfax, but no one bothered to mention that it had been in any accidents, only that the carfax was clean.

She gave us the best price match without any hesitation. Jim Swartz, the salesman, was also very friendly and very patient. He showed us everything about the car (Rav4). There was no sale pressure, allowing us to make our own decision. David Cooper handled our sales paper and financing with ease. We are glad that we bought our car at Elgin, and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Salesman was nice when he was showing me the car. When it came down to the negotiating, he tries to tell me that the automotive industry changed in the past year because of the web (really, just this year huh?)and that the internet price is already the lowest possible. First price was too high, but they says its because of the certification. When I gave my price, manager tries to lecture me about the world. I leave after they can't meet my price. Several calls made to me throughout the week to get me to buy car. A week later they give me my price(why the change?)over the phone. Man on phone says he is man of his word and they will sell me car for price I stated. I agree to pick up car. Before I go to pick up car, I call to verify just to be safe. Salesman tells me they can't include certification with my price and the price will be higher than what was agreed upon. This place had three chances (three too many)to get me to buy car, and they failed miserably. Ended up buying a better, cheaper and certified (at no cost) car at honda and the treatment was 1000 times better. Funny thing is, 10 years ago I left a honda dealership pissed and yelling at salesman and another toyota dealership saved the day. Can't blame toyota, but based on my experience I will never buy a car from here.

I live in Chicago and this was my first car purchase so I had been doing as much research and shopping online as I could before going into a dealership, and had a list of five or six cars for sale in the area that matched my criteria. Out of chance Elgin Toyota was the first dealership I actually visited, and it ended up being the one I purchased my used 2009 Honda CR-V from. Although I had made an informal appointment with someone in the internet department when I walked in I was greeted by Justin, who took fantastic care of me. Having never purchased a car before, I was super skeptical and had a lot of questions and Justin was patient and kind enough to answer all my questions and deal with my cynicism. After taking a test drive and having an honest talk about what I could afford I left the dealership, convinced I'd be a fool to purchase the first car I test drove from the first dealership I visited, no matter how much I wanted to. After doing a little more research that evening on the comparable vehicles I had found I decided I couldn't find a better deal, and frankly didn't want to take the time to look, especially if it was going to involve hanging around in less friendly dealerships where pushy salesmen would try to bully me into buying a car (my voicemail and email inboxes were full of calls and emails from salesmen asking when I'd be coming in to buy their CR-V).Justin called me to follow up the next day, and I told him I'd be in that afternoon to buy the car. The purchase process took a little longer than expected (to be fair, I didn't really know what to expect) but Justin was nice and patient the whole way through. Having only other people's car-buying horror stories to go off of, buying from Justin seemed remarkably easy and the whole process was fairly pain-free. Justin is affable, honest, and not pushy at all - pretty much the opposite of the skeezy used car salesman a novice like me can't help but imagine.I am so glad my first car-buying experience was so pleasurable, and that I get to drive my new vehicle with the peace of mind in knowing I didn't get swindled because I bought from a salesman I trusted. I would recommend Elgin Toyota, and Justin specifically, to any friends or family members who are in the market for a car. Thanks Justin!

We came to the Elgin, IL Toyota dealership where we had bought a used Yaris some months before for our daughter. The low tire pressure light came on in the car panel as well as her breaks made a strange moaning sound whenever she used them. We were greated by Ankeet Patel and he was very nice (not condescending) when listening to our tire and brake woes.He had a tech check out our break problem and they not only looked at them but took them apart, lubed them and make sure they were safe for my daughter to drive. They also filled up her tires and did a muti-point inspection for all for free. I feel my daughter's car is in good shape and once again safe for her to drive. Thank you Mr. Patel :)

My wife and I just bought a car at Elgin Toyota. The process was much better than we expected. We had visited several different automobile dealerships and Elgin Toyota and a Ford dealership were the only two where we did not feel like we were being attacked by piranha, and we greatly appreciated that. Our salesman, Justin Baley, was very helpful. I wanted a 2011 model with specific options so as to get the current Toyota incentive. Other dealerships told me that they did not have that specific vehicle but they would fix me up with something else. Justin and Elgin Toyota were able to find me this vehicle even tho they had to transfer it in from out of the area. The car price was negotiated via my credit union over the internet, and Elgin Toyota honored that price. Justin delivered as promised, and he even helped my wife link her cell phone to the cars Bluetooth system. We were both very pleased with the way we were treated by the dealership and we will do business with them again when the time comes. And we love the car.

Not many people can say this but I truely enjoyed my used car buying experience. I found my dream car on line and called the dealership to verify that they still had it. I talked to Gary Putuglia and told him it would take me an hour to get there as I was driving up from Naperville. When I got to the dealership mid morning on a Saturday I met Gary and he proceeded to spend the better part of the day with me as I vasilated back and forth probably 20 times whether to buy the car or not. Gary was never pushy and incredibly patient with me. Words can't describe how much I appreciated his patience and even on a busy Saturday he never left my side. Every time my parents have visited in the past it has ended in the same way. The car we were shopping for was for me and it was a 2009 Corolla with 48,000 miles on it. (Gary told us not to worry about the mileage, because it was not that high however when it's 24,000 miles per year, we knew it was quite high.) When we sat down to negotiate a price, we weren't even able to negotiate a price. Gary said one price and then we said the one we wanted. He became very angry, stood up and said, "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" some more rude remarks. He disrespected us, so we decided to leave the dealership. I proceeded to call the general manager(Adrian) and complain about our experience to him. He listened well, but I do not anything will change. I think Gary needs to take a class in Customer Service 101. Rule number one: Be patient with your customers.

Hidden cost which the dealership didn't tell even after we asked. Finance had to fax the same paperwork twice and then go there. Car was washed from outside but not cleaned at the time of delivery from inside. Inside had dog hair on the back seat.I wouldn't go there again.

Overall, I had a very positive experience purchasing a new RAV4 from Elgin Toyota. It was a pleasure to work with Jim Swartz. I found him to be honest and straight forward. Jim listened to what I had to say and he didnt steer me in a different direction. I am recommending Elgin Toyota to my friends and I highly recommend seeing Jim. Before my purchase with Elgin Toyota, I had visited a different Toyota dealership. There, the process was quite the opposite. we traveled to Elgin from Mo to purchase an 08 Avalon ltd only 5000 plus miles - no accidents - sounded good. the car as it turned out had a ding in the windshield - mgr said - you can get a new window for 200 - (really?). agreed to purchase - pick up in the am - at this point there is a note that says the sales person will check with previous owner to see about the second key. first mention of this - then they offered to "sell" us one - must admit the service people were nice. frustrated we finally left - had a long travel and we are old - ended up paying for a motel as we were too tired. calls and letters were not returned by them - BBB got a response that said they offered to cancel deal - not so - we threatened but had already given our credit card info and didn't trust they would honor - even if you go thru Visa - it takes awhile and this put us at our limit. turned out the car had been in an accident - not clean like they said. we waited nearly two months after repeated requests to get our title. our local authorities charged us $25 for penalty. Thru BBB Elgin said they would pay this - then said they did pay this - WE HAVE NOT SEEN IT.I don't know how they stay in business - they are definitely not nice people - probably a few good ones but I bet they are not there long.We have contacted Toyota Corp and the BBB and now this - hope it helps someone to refrain from going to Elgin Toyota - drive on down the road - anybody would be better.

I was trying to buy a new Toyota vehicle, and I visited Elgin Toyota several days ago. I was completely underwhelmed by the experience. When I first walked into the dealership, despite the fact that there were several staff members just standing around not doing anything, all of them just pretty much ignored me and no one came to greet me. After I managed to get someone's attention, instead of helping me look for the type of new vehicle that I said I wanted, they just tried to pressure me into buying a used vehicle that was of a type that was completely different. The whole experience was just very unprofessional. I have since made my purchase from a different dealership in the area, with a significantly better experience.

I have a 2007 Toyota 4-Runner , 2009 Nissan Altima, I service both my automobiles at this dealership. The reason is I trust them. I have been treated with respect and genuine fairness when purchasing my vehicles or having service done on them. I would highly recommend this dealership. I purchased my Toyota 4-Runner new at this delaership. When I first purchased my Toyota I dealt with Gary Dolte in sales who has a calm about him, while making a major decision like a purchase of an automobile. Since then I have dealt with Mike Barrich in service who handles his customers like they are family.Just a quick word about my Nissan. I service it here not the Nissan dealer i purchased it at, becuase this dealership is the best. The quality of service is great. I am provided a loaner vehicle when servicing my vehicles and I am fully advised of the cost of repairs prior to work being done. May I add the price of repair is always a fair amount in my opinion. I will return to this dealership for all of my future vehicle purchases or repairs.

My vehicle purchase from Elgin Toyota went perfectly. Mike was courteous, he listened when I told him what I needed and why I needed it. I traded a Honda Ridgeline for a Toyota Tundra. The Ridgeline (a great truck) was not big enough to handle the towing that I was going to be doing with a new business venture. Everyone, not just Mike, was a real pleasure to deal with. Be prepared to be insulted and have high pressure sales tactics thrown at you. The sales person (Ali)was extremely rude and treated us like we were dirt and wasting his time. He seemed angry when we asked any questions, such as, "Why is this car cheaper than that car?" and "Are your prices negotiable?" He used an angry tone of voice, when my husband and I both requested to test drive the car. He tried insulting our tastes when we told him we were looking at cars other than Toyota. We went back and got a different sales person, Jeff, who was friendlier, but still a used car salesman. The financial guy, (Alex-?) seemed like a real d-bag, tried insulting us again- like we were too stupid to be able to negotiate a deal with another dealership. Seems like shady business when car dealerships won't put an offer in writing and give you a copy of it.

Do not beleive their Internet Price. The price they advertised was not the price they were willing to give me. They said it was a 'Mistake' by the on-line department. They could not sell the car for that price because they paid more for it. They wanted to sell it to me for $3,000 more than the Advertised price. They would not negotiate. If it was a mistake they should have made some compensations but not even that was offered. Bad business. Gary P. was the salesperson and was good to work with and I do not beleive it was his fault. It went higher than him and he could not do anything about it. They seem to be untrustworthy.

I bought my Toyota Highlander from Gary ; which is the third Toyota car running in the family. Gary was very friendly and helpful to show the car, let us test drive and seal the deal. Manager Steve had checked couple of times during the purchase to make sure everything was under good care by salesman. It's a VERY professional dealer. I went to Elgin Toyota to see about buying a new RAV4 because they participate in the Consumer Reports Build and Buy program for new cars. Of the three dealers in the Chicago area that participate, Elgin Toyota appeared to be the most interested in my business and sent me emails to gently explain the advantages of their new car program. I went by the dealership to test drive a car and get more information about the RAV4. I was very pleasantly surprised at how friendly and knowledgeable the sales personnel were. Manfred Hoerr carefully explained the different models, the options, and the costs associated with a purchase and answered all of my questions along with his colleague Jim Swartz. They introduced me to the Sales Manager, Steve Neidig, who made it very clear that they wanted to do business with me and were willing to go out of their way to make that happen. Then Manfred took me in to meet the service manager, Mike Barich, who spent thirty minutes out of his busy day to give me an impromptu and very informative briefing on the services he offered, including how easy it was to make a real time appointment online. He then patiently answered some of my questions on such topics as nitrogen in tires and synthetic oil. Manfred then helped me decide the exact configuration of the car I wanted and presented their best price for the package in a very honest and straightforward manner. After considering the offer, and carefully researching prices on the internet and in the local area, it became very apparent that Elgin Toyota's offer was exceptional. It was not only a fair price by any standard, but it was straightforward and easy to understand, and they made the buying process totally transparent. There were no confusing numbers or complicated calculations. At that point, I made the decision to buy the car, and the people at Elgin Toyota made it happen quickly, efficiently, and courteously. They found the car, and Jim Swartz picked it up in Kenosha and delivered it within two days. He even called me as soon as he arrived at the dealership just to let me know it was there. When I went to pick it up, it was beautiful! They had gone out of their way to present it in perfect condition. It was immaculate inside and out exactly as ordered.Manfred Hoerr then spent an hour of his time going over every detail of the car's layout and operation for me. He did a great job getting me oriented so I would know what I was looking at when I got a chance to read the manual. When I drove out of the dealership, I knew much more than I thought I would about the car I was driving, and it was a delightful experience. Since the purchase, Manfred has kept in touch regularly to be sure everything goes smoothly. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the entire process at Elgin Toyota, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in buying a Toyota. My overall rating for Elgin Toyota is excellent -- friendliness, knowledge, professionalism, price, service -- all a well deserved excellent. Thanks, guys.

I couldn't believe it... Made a deal over the internet, dealer told me to come in and they would have the car ready. As soon as I arrived the person I was talking to supposedly had an emergency and I was given a guy who had no idea of the deal. Then the car had made a deal on they didn't have. they said they had just sold it and the only one they had was an upgraded one. After that argument they told me that my car wasn't worth what they had agreed to. Last but not least they tried to get me for more than $1600.00 in extra taxes. When I told them they were cheating me the salesman tried to give me some BS story that made no sense whatsoever. When the manager came over he said "that truckisn't leased, we thought it was leased" Never at any time mdid I ever say or even imply that it was leased. EVER!!! Had I have not caught it they would have stuck me pretty good. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DEALER TO ANYONE. THEY ARE A RIP OFF AND SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.

I purchased a new Sequoia seven years ago from Elgin Toyota, and would not consider going anywhere else for service. I am always greeted quickly and with a smile by the service advisors. There are always several service advisors available so I am taken care of quickly and rarely have to wait. They make appointments for oil changes so the service is performed in a timely manner and I am on my way. For more extensive visits they have a few loaners available to use so I don't have to wait. It is best to call ahead and ask if one is available. I receive coupons in the mail and via email for service specials that coordinate with the age of my vehicle. Elgin Toyota is the only service dealer that I trust to be honest about necessary work. They let me know the things that need to be taken care of immediately, and the things that can hold off without using "scare tactics" to force me into doing work. My husband even takes his Ford cargo van there for service...it's not a Toyota but they work on all makes and models of vehicles. The next time I buy a vehicle it will be a Toyota and it will be purchased and serviced at Elgin Toyota.

My wife's toyota sequoia had a clicking sound in the drivers seat, so we set up an appointment with the service department. Mr.Barich notified us that our seat needed to be replaced,during their road test one of the technicians heard a ticking sound under the hood of the vehicle. Mr.Barich informed us of an exhaust leak,and extended the use of their loaner vehicle to us.The service department ordered the parts for our vehicle and called us when they were installed.My wife and I are greatly appreciative of the extra efforts by the service department, the technician that worked on our vehicle, and how informative Mr.Barich was with us throughout the process of getting our vehicle fixed and back to us in a timely fashion, thanks again The BREED family. You guys were GREAT!!!!!!

Normally, I dread the idea of buying a new car, but all the staff members I worked with were very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and not as persistent as I had expected (I tend to stereotype salesmen). Everyone at the dealership has always been extremely friendly and helpful. We have been buying cars here since they opened and have always used their parts and service department. Their prices, for sales and service, are very competitive and I've never had them recommend service that was not needed. Our salesman, Gary Doty, is extremely honest, helpful, and a genuinely good person. Mike Barich and Mike Forsberg run excellent pats and service departments, all of the service writers are great to work with. I can't forget the porters, they are friendly, fast, courteous, and very helpful. Overall, I would not consider buying or having my vehicles serviced elsewhere.

I have been bringing my Camry to Elgin Toyota to be serviced for years. When I go in I always schedule my appointments with Jerry Sharif. He exemplifies excellent customer service every time I go in. With the lack of good customer service out there it is nice to know that every time I go into Elgin Toyota, Jerry is there to greet me with a warm friendly smile and excellent service!!! It is hard to find a service writer that actually listens to your needs and concerns. I never have to worry about that with Jerry every time he has helped us he listens to our concerns, explains the service being performed, how much it will cost, and when the work will be completed. More importantly then being friendly and listening Jerry is also very honest. Its nice to know you can go into your local dealer and get your car serviced and deal with someone who is honest and has integrity he isnt just trying to make a buck!!! To further prove my point its not everyday you will hear a service guy tell you that you can wait a few more visits before getting a particular service done on your car. I love working with Jerry and as long as he is at Elgin Toyota I will always get my families cars serviced there. Its nice to know that with Jerry we never have to worry about anything!!! He delivers all his promises and keeps his word. I suggest everyone call and make appointments with Jerry!!! Keep up the good work Elgin Toyota and I think everyone can learn a lesson or two from the excellent work ethics of Jerry!!!

I went in for a recall notice. They told me 3 additional things were wrong with my car for a total of $800. When my husband and I asked to see, the associate said "Well that means I'd have to put it back up on the rack again." They made us wait while they did and then gave a general description, pointing a flash light at the general area as opposed to sticking his fingers or an object near the area so we could see what he was talking about. In addition, he said that the recall part would take 4-6 weeks to come in. I went to another Toyota dealer the same day and they said that and only 2 things were wrong. The third they said was perfectly fine. And they also advised that the 2 things that were wrong were covered under my extended warranty - something Elgin Toyota didn't even check on. I ended up paying $0 at the second dealer, who also proactively replaced the recall part only one week later as opposed to the 4-6 weeks that Elgin adivsed. The bottom line is that Elgin left me feeling like they were only interested and after my money. What really upsets me is that I had gone to them in May and paid $700 to make sure that everything was great with my vehicle, under their advice. Now I wonder if I even had to pay that or if it may have been covered under my extended warranty.

Our family owns 3 Toyotas. My wife and daughter dirve on expressways over an hour each way, each day and work in neighborhoods where a breakdown would a big problem and concern. Because of these factors we like Toyotas because they are very reliable and we spend the extra money to do all recommended preventative maintenance. While preventative maintenance can be a good thing it can also be problematic for the consumer because there car repair shops that are more than willing to take advantage of you. That brings me to my preferred Service Writer at Elgin Toyota, Ankeet Patel. We trust him. If Ankeet says it needs to be repaired, we get it repaired. Trust is extremely important when it comes to car repairs and even more important when you are always doing preventative maintenance. And finally, I often show up without an appointment (so he is not expecting me), but Ankeet always remembers my name. And my daughter and wife enjoy taking their cars to him and never feel that when they deal with him that they are treated with less respect because they are women. (this has not always been the case at other dealerships).

Have been a customer for over 10 years. Purchased 4 Camrys from this dealership because of their product knowledge, courtesy and pricing. Dealership has large inventory which provides many color and options choices. The facility is well staffed, clean and easily accessible from Rt 20. Service department is friendly and efficient. I like the online appointment scheduler because its easy to use and saves time calling for an appointment. The free coffee and bagels and WIFI in the waiting area are nice touches.

I bought a used 2001 Ram 1500 in the spring of 2010. It was a good price for what I was looking for. My problem is with the last 2 months. The check engine light went on one day, so I plugged in the code scanner I have and saw that it was an apparent transmission fault of some sort. I took it in to them since I had bought the extended warranty which would cover this. 4 days later, I got my truck back after they determined that the valve body had to be replaced. So, I paid my $100.00 deductible and was happily on my way for the weekend. This was on a Friday.The very next Monday on my way to work, Suddenly I have no transmission working at all and I'm hearing whining/grinding noises. I managed to hobble the truck off the road, and had to walk the rest of the way to work at 6:30 in the morning in the freaking snow. I was BEYOND P!$$ED.I call up Paul at Elgin Toyota and share my opinions. Now for the record, Paul was very professional and attentive to the situation. He was also extremely appologetic and wanted to make things right for me. In this entire experience, Paul was genuine and straight forward with me. His professionalism and concern/understanding of my feeling regarding this were what kept me from creating a scene on the shop floor. This dealership owes him a big thanks for keeping my less than psychotic. They tow it in, supply me with a loaner, and go in to take a look. Now, general consensus among just about anyone I talk to is that they perhaps forgot to put in trans fluid when they did the work the first time. Of course, when I talked to them after their review of the situation, their work was done completely and correctly, and what had now happened was that the torque converter had now failed and there were metal peices in the trans pan that were not there before. Hmmm, sounds to me like they fracked up but were not about to admit it. So now they had to wait for a replacement trans to come in. Now, Paul told me he wanted to put a brand new trans in it, but because the insurance company that was handling the warranty was upset with them because of this situation, said insurance company wanted to go the cheaper route and put in a rebuilt trans in. I was not happy with that decision, but it was not my call since they were paying for it. They also had to replace my power steering pump because that magically failed too, hence the whining/grinding noise I heard.Finally after them having my truck from 1/31/11 to 2/11/11, I get a call that it's done and I can pick it up. I go in, talk to Paul, and he relays how this has all been a huge headache for him as well and that he really does not want for me to have to come in for anything else. I agree, and tell him that I don't ever want to have to come back either and that I just want to drive my own vehicle that I am paying for.So, I pay yet another $100.00 deductible for the steering pump, since that was a new and unrelated problem. Fine, I just want my truck back and to never see these people again. Two days later, yes, TWO DAYS LATER(!) I see a huge spot on my driveway under the transmission. The damn replacement trans that was put in is leaking all over the place!! I took it back to them 2/14/11, just drove it in without calling. I gave them all my pictures I took, asked for Paul, and was told he called in sick. I explained the situation to Bryan in 30 words or less and he said he'd take care of it for now and I'd have to wait for a loaner car from Enterprise since all of theirs were spoken for. I'd think that after my being in twice already, the very least one would do is make sure nothing was leaking. So this was a definite failure on the part of the person or persons working on my truck. I get my truck back on the 15th, Paul is beyond apologetic and tries to make good for me after all I have gone through. I end up driving away satisfied, but still unsure of what else may come.So, at that point, I get on here and start writing my review, most of which is the above with minor editing. I get contacted by Bob Ellis, the GM of Elgin Toyota, through this site. He apologizes for my very bad experiences and wants to sit down and meet in the hopes of changing my opinion of the place. I tell him I need a week to have my truck so I can form an opinion of the end result before discussing things. He then contacts me again a week after that (2/23/11) making the same offer. I consider the offer for a day and then decide that it would be best for all of us to have that meeting. BUT WAIT, There's more...So come that Friday, the roads are kinda bad and I put my truck into 4WD for the first time since taking it to them the first time. BAD NEWS! To sum it up, here's an excerpt from the email I sent Mr. Bob Ellis that day:"I think today would be a perfect day for us to meet and talk. The reason being that I am now having my truck towed in to you, again, for service. This time it is for the transfer case which allows for the truck to go from 2WD to 4WD. Today was the first time I have used 4WD since getting my truck back for having the transmission replaced. In short, it is now totally ruined and pouring oil everywhere. Please note that I have used 4WD several times before bringing it in the first time. I never had any problem with it before. But this morning when I put it in 4WD, the whole truck shook. I pulled over, stopped, put it in neutral, took it out of 4WD and into 2WD. I pulled forward, heard a thunk, but it seemed fine. When I got to work, I tried again in the parking lot. This time, I heard loud grinding and banging sounds. I put it back into 2WD, parked it. When I got out I noticed that there was now fluid pouring out of the transfer case. Since I never had previous problems before turning this truck over to your service dept., and since the transfer case is directly connected to the transmission which was replaced by your service dept., I feel it most certainly related to that service."I continued to elaborate on my great displeasure. So, later that day Paul, Bob and I have a meeting. We go over everything I mentioned above. They are wanting nothing but to make me a happy customer at this point. I do not doubt their sincerity. And moreover, I am sure that this whole thing has beyond embarassing for them, not to mention costly for them. They agree to take some proactive steps beyond fixing the problem at hand (replacing the transfer case), and Paul agrees that when all is done, He personally will take the truck out for a test drive and put it through all the gears and inspections to make sure all is right. So two of the replacement transfer cases sent through the warranty companies parts supplier arrived cracked. They also happeneg to have the cases cracked in the same place as my original on. The replacemants were damaged by mishandling and possibly by being dropped. So now the question is, was my transfer case dropped when the transmission was replaced? That could very well be the reason for this latest problem. Hmm.Well, it turns out that my situation has been taken care of by a far more capable mechanic that the previous one. (I heard mention about the fate of the previous mechanic, but will not claim to have verification of that). Because this particular mechanic, Chad, takes his work very seriously, I was told that he even requested specifically to handle the correction of this situation that had gone FUBAR. That is how the damaged replacements got caught the first time; because this guy does his job well and pays attention to details. Unlike someone else who I don't even know his name and probably never will. In the end, both Chad and Paul put it through it's paces and made sure all was done right once and for all. Elgin Toyota kept to their word all across the board and went beyond to make this previously disgusted customer happy and content that a job was done well. It was admoittedly very painful to get to this point, but it's how someone deals with a horrible situation that will tell you if they are any good and worth business in the future. I feel comfortable saying that Elgin Toyota learned a lot from this experience, and has probably made the corrections necessary internally to prevent this from happening again. Despite all the troubles from the start, in retrospect I feel that had this scenario happened anywhere else, it would have been far more costly to me and I would have been treated with a lot of distain or indifference. Regardless of all that had been happening, these guys were more that willing to treat me right with dignity and sensitivity to my situation and my feelings about it. If it was meant to happen, I'm glad it happened here. And if you are looking to buy a used car and they offer you an extended warranty, GET IT!! You will be so glad you did if anything were to happen. You just don't know.

I have been a customer of Elgin Toyota since 1997 and have purchased and maintained 3 differents vehicles from this dealership. They have always been honest and fair in pricing and I have had nothing but completely positive experiences in both the sales and service departments. They always have a loaner available for me when the service is extensive and do their best to help keep my vehicles on the road and humming for many years!! I am the proud and happy owner of a Sienna with nearly 175,000 miles and I will not take it anywhere else for service. They know my vehicle and help me keep track of what needs to be done to keep it in top shape. I recommend Elgin Toyota without reservation for high levels of customer service and integrity in BOTH the Sales and Service Departments. I have a lot more contact with the Service Department and have always been treated with respect and consideration. They know I need to keep this vehicle running and when the time comes to purchase another new or used Toyota I will be back in the Sales Department with the full confidence that I will get the most for my trade-in and the best price on my purchase. This is our second vehicle purchased from Elgin, dealt with Amy and Jose both times. Both are excellent employees to work with, very customer friendly. we would also like to give shout out to Sam for showing us all the functions of our new car before we left the dealers lot. Our next vehicle purchase will most likely be from Elgin again and we hope to deal with these people again. Our only gripe was with the time it took for delivery of car from the factory, we realize that the selling dealer has no control over this process. Bozena was very polite and sweet. I had problem because i couldn't decide what car I was supposed to buy you ,Bozena show me everything many times,very profetional.after i decided on the car Bozena help me to prepare everything, she never show me that she is tired :). I have purchased six cars from Elgin Toyota, five of them from Tom Licata. I also my cars serviced here. I have always found Elgin Toyota to be a wonderful place to do business. It's a beautiful facility and everyone who works there is accomodating. The service department personnel is top drawer. I don't understand the negative reviews of Elgin Toyota -- I have never, ever had a bad experience there.

My wife was looking for a new Prius (or so she thought) about 5 months ago. I went on Edmunds.com and sent out a blast and Elgin Toyota (Amy Volkering specifically) responded. We had opted at the time to not buy, but I continued to see some things come through from Amy. When I decided to get rid of my van, I picked up an old Elgin Toyota email and reply'd with the specific car I wanted. Robert answered, explained it would be a difficult car to find but I immediately felt like he was working for me. Needless to say he found the car, let me know immediately and we began to plan the next steps. I secured financing through my credit union and contacted Robert back to bring my van in to get valued. When I arrived, Robert hooked me up with Gary Doty who in my opinion is the salesman of the year, and just as Robert did, Gary immediately picked up where Robert left off and went to work for me. We brokered the deal and I was out of there in less than 1 hour knowing my car would be there Monday. I wasn't happy with the first offer on my van as I truly didn't feel it was fair. They did come back with a number that wasn't as high as I had hoped but was indeed very fair. I didn't realize the dealership was closed on Sunday so I was kind of nervous when I didn't hear back from anybody but I woke up mid morning Monday to an email from Robert confirming that the car would be there etc. I showed up at my appointment time and the car was sitting right in front all shiny and new. I walked in and Gary was sitting at his desk with my paperwork, owner's manuals and keys ready to go for a drive.There were two other people that I dealt with. One was the intermediate guy who tries to sell you other things (can't remember his name) but I talked to him twice and didn't care for him either time...I found him to be somewhat of a bully. The second was Dave, the finance manager. He questioned some of my decisions, however, I felt that he had my best intentions in mind and wanted to make sure that I had made informed decisions.I went into this deal very cautiously because Elgin Toyota gets a bad rap from a low number of ratings on websites such as dealerrater. I mentioned this to both Robert and Gary and in fact Gary and I spent sometime discussing alternatives.I would go back to Elgin Toyota again and again and will recommend to my friends and family where appropriate. My wife will be buying a new prius and I am confident that I will contact Robert and Gary and repeat this process. Don't believe everything you read about Elgin Toyota. The comments that are on the internet, although fairly negative, do not represent the quality of service that I found in Robert and Gary. You indicate and try to be straightforward. You also indicate clearly your intentions but they will just not be ready to work that way - i.e. - in friendly, trustworthy and cooperative way...guys don't recommend them....be careful. The sales person was senior enough as well...

After reading a bunch of horror stories I didn't want to go to Elgin Toyota. The prices were too tempting so I though it may be worth it. I called ahead and drove 1.5 hours to get there. They had the car, it was in great shape and we bought it with an out of state check just before closing. Cars move fast there so beware if you have to drive to get there! When we called there were two at the same price and same mileage-when we arrived there was only one (I looked at the salesmans computer screen over his shoulder and the time stamp of purchase checked out with his story). I kind of regret reading all of the bad reviews because I walked in with a bad attitude and walked out pleased. As with any big purchase just be ready to run if there is anything suspicious and don't be desperate. WYSIWYG. The car we bought had an updated CarFax sheet (which I highly recommend because of the built in assurance that it provides at no charge). I denied the Toyota certification (which they wanted to charge $1,400 for) as well as all the different warranty options that they offered later. Overall don't expect to talk them down on the price - because they didnt budge a penny with me. The car I purchased there is working great so far and was about $3,000-1,500 cheaper than anywhere else around. Other dealers added the certification at no cost, so with one dealer it would have been the same price as Elgin if we purchased the Toyota Certification. Don't expect any perks, warm fuzzy feelings or Nordstrom service. Its kind of like going to walmart. You can expect competitive prices. They also added about 10 gallons of gas without any prompting from me. The place worked for me but I came in with no trade in no need for financing and I knew exactly what I wanted. I got a good car for a good price but I didnt get a cookie with my car. Tony Sawyer

Very bad experience!!! We visited this Elgin Toyota dealership two weeks ago. Sales man, Ali Walter, showed us a new car which we are interested in. We didn't drive the car that we would like to trade in. However, Ali told us it is ok and dealer could still make a deal with us without looking at our old car. We provided VIN of our old car and made a purchasing agreement. The dealership didn't have the exact car that we want at that moment, but Ali told us it will be in the following Monday. On Moday, Ali called and informed us they ordered new car from manufacturer directly and car will be in dealership about a week. After a week, I called and Ali told me shipment delayed and we had to wait for a few more days. In the meantime, he asked us to do credit check and said it would take about 2 days to check credit. To my knowledge, it usually takes a few minutes to check your credit. Finally he called and told us the new car is in dealership and ready to pick up. We went and thought we just need to finish the final paperwork. Then they told us they couldn't offer the original price for the trade-in car because the trade-in car had frame damage in the past based on the carfax report, and they wanted to make a big cut of trade-in price. It's been two weeks and we gave VIN number two weeks ago. So we walked away. They don't honor their original deal. It is totally waste of time. I will never go to this dealership.

Worst Experience anyone can have at this dealership.I had the deal finalized in July before the Cash for clunkers.I gave the deposit amount and I was told that the car will be arriving in 4 weeks but with the C4C,their demand went up and they pushed the delivery of my car and atlast they called me with the VIN number.I took the insurance and went to the dealer.The dealer and a male manager wanted us to withdraw the deal as they were getting a better price with the C4C.They were adding extra charges saying that the terms were subject to change though I deposited the amount and all the term deals were final.When I was still thinking about the extra charge,they sold off the car right in front of me and asked to take my refund back.The Internet sales managers Amy and Brian who helped me with the finding the deal and were witness to the deal details din't help me at this point when I needed their help.

These people bait and and switched me form their ad in the newspaper. They said they had new avalons for a proce and then I drove 45 minutes to get there and they tell me it's had one owner and the manager says it's a demo! They couldn't even get their story straight. Worst dealership I have ever been to.

First person I talked to said $700 to ship what I wanted to buy, not to bad, based on this info. made a deal on the phone. Passed to sales person, said vehicle would be shipped in a couple days could be picked up on Jan. 11 but the price of shipping had gone up to $1300. Pick up date pushed back till not sure when, suddenly did not have title. Promised a certain date, didn't happen. Had several dates changed and different excuses every time. Finally got vehicle 2 weeks later than promised. Had been told it was showroom cond. but it cost me $300 to get it cleaned. Tried to contact but no response. I would advice caution if you want to deal with these people.

Let me start out by saying that the salesperson was fine. You could tell right away that he wasn't in charge of helping me with my purchase, the power to make the deal was held by the General Manager. He is a rude ,offensive and his actions and words stopped me from purchasing. AND I'VE BOUGHT 2 CARS THERE!!I have a higher-mile 2007 car, and I was well aware that I owed money on it and that I was in a negative eqity situation with my loan. What I guess Bob didn't realize was that I had $5500 in my pocket to offset that, and he never gave an oopportunity to tell him.As soon as Bob "appraised" my Camry(he didn't even drive it, and it is in wonderful condition for a 2007 with almost 70,000 miles.Instead he yelled at his salesperson, loud enough for me, and the whole showroom to hear.He asked the salesperson to stop wasting his time and said that I "can't buy a f__king thing", and to "get rid of this bust-out".The salesperson came back to me, clearly shaken(is this how these guys work all day? being abused?) and he told me that they couldn't help me.Now I was frustratd, and I asked to tslk to Bob. Clearly flustered, he walked to me and said that he was the General Manager, and that he wasn't in business to lose money, over appraise trade-ins, or to maake up for my mistake(meaning the car I bought THERE!!!).He then just walked away, really fast. No handshake, hello, goodbye,I'm sorry or any other common courtesyHe never found out that I had alot of cash to put down. He didn't ask. No one did.I asked for the owner and they told me he wasn't available. Bob walked by and asked me why I was still there. At this point, I left.I got in my car, went to Schaumburg Toyota, got my deal apporved with the negstive equity included, and only had to put $3000 down.Bob Ellis, the General Manager at Elging Toyota made it completely clear to me that he could not care less about my business.If this is the face that Elgin Toyota chooses to put on its dealership, I believe they will lose a lot more than just my business.Bob is about 4ft'11 inches tall, and seems have a Napoleanic issue, or perhapshe just enjoys humiliating customers that are ready to do business.And let me just say again, this is NOT sour grapes from s guy with bsd credit that couldn't get a loan. My score is 812.I bought a car THAT DAY, put down enough cash to cover my negative equity, and like I said, they only needed $3000 down. I wrote this letter so buyers will beware of the antics that occur at Elgin Toyota, and think twice after reading this.If this is the way that Bob Loquercio(who I have since found out is the owner) wsnts his customers treated, I'm surprised, but so be it. Just so you know Mr. Loquercio, my house is in Elgin,and because the rudeness(including swearing) and laziness(never asked me for a down payment, and tossed me out of the store when I tried to explain it to him) I bought a car in Schaumburg instead of at your store in my home town.I'm going to let all my friends snd relatives know that you don't care about people from your own neighborhood.Bob Ellis is EXACTLY what is wrong with automobile sales. Like a throwback to the 80's. Anyway, all buyers be very aware of how I was treated at Elgin Toyota. There are close-by Toyota stores in Schaumburg and I believe St. Charles.Skip Bob Ellis, his bad attitude,and his booster seat(haha couldn't help myself).

My husband and I looked at used vehicles on June 2, 2009. We dealt with salesman Wasif Ali. He pressured us into leaving a $100 deposit for a car, with the verbal promise that if we decided we didn't want it he would reverse the charges on our credit card. We called in less than 24 hours and said we were uncomfortable with the deal, and he said okay, he would talk to his manager. We called repeatedly, once a week, asking why our money wasn't being returned. I spoke with general manager Bob Ellis on a number of occasions and he kept saying the check was in the mail. He even asked me to fax my receipt over, which I did on Aug. 8, 2009. I contacted Toyota corporate on Sept. 21, 2009 and spoke with a Tanesha. She refered it to Elgin Toyota's cust. relations, and they never got back to me. She advised me to speak with corporate liason Michael Barich, and if that didn't work I should sue the owner of the dealership, Bob Loquerico. Michael apologized profusely, said it was all a misunderstanding. FOUR MONTHS after the original transaction, I finally received a $100 credit on my credit card. I'm just out the interest, I guess.

They lied about a car they had over the phone with me. I got there and it was not anywhere to be found. Then Larry the manager, a tall overweight guy was insulting to us and lied about everything. He lied about the cost of a brand new car and tried to sell us a used car for $600 dollars less than a new car. Then to add to this circus of a dealership, Larry did not even budge on the sticker price by one dollar. What kind of dealer wouldn't budge one dollar on the sticker price of a car? What a joke; we laughed all the way home about what obvious crooks these guys were. Unless you're looking for a good laugh resulting from poorly operated old school b.s. dealer tactics, don't waste your time with this dealer. Even if they offer you a good deal, I wouldn't trust this dealership to follow through on any of their warranties or packages.

I had an awful experience with your dealership. I live over two hours away in Wisconsin, and thought I had found the car I wanted to buy. I called to make sure the car was still there, Julie told me yes it was. When I arrived not only was the car already sold it was sold on the pervious Saturday!!! I was then told whoever had purchased the vehicle had such bad credit the financing might not go thought and the car would be returned. When on called on Thursday to check on this I was put on hold for over 20minutes, and finally had to call back to leave a message for Brian. (who NEVER called me back) This is totally reprehensible behavior. Im disgusted with the low level of customer service.

Dealer insisted on adding an $1800 'comfort and convenience' package to car. Would not sell car without this. When I asked dealer to fax me specific information on what this dealer 'add-on' added to the vehicle, no fax was received. Sales person never called me again. My experience was poor, your mileage may vary.Would not recommend.
