Notes

It is easy to see why the 600LT is some people's favorite McLaren every made. The wizards at Woking took the 570S, which the 600LT is based off, shed weight and added power. Sounds simple enough, but a lot of testing and engineering went into the project. In order to drop the curb weight of the 600LT compared to the 570S, extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the body and chassis has been implemented. Also, the re-routing of the exhaust to the crowd favorite top exit, shed some additional pounds while adding flames and sound! In total the 96 kg or roughly 211 pounds were shed. One might ask where does the LT name come from? The first McLaren to ever use that moniker was the famed McLaren F1 GTR "Longtail" that raced at 24 Hours of LeMans and in the FIA GT Championship. Followed by the limited production 675LT. All are united by the same singular focus. To push performance and driving to the absolute edge! As if the 600LT isn't already one of the most engaging and visceral sports car on the market, the gentleman at McLaren Cars wanted to turn up the excitement a notch! With the addition of the roof scoop, which is beautifully finished in exposed shiny carbon fiber, the driving experience takes on a whole other level. The scoop gulps in air that is forced down through two tubes that route into the interior just above your head then into the engine bay. On throttle, it is as if you are standing in the middle of a tornado as you hear the air rushing and tumbling down those tubes. The excitement doesn't stop there, every time you lift the throttle or a quick down shift you will not only hear the amazing pops from the exhaust but you will hear the waste gates relieving excess boost from the turbocharges by way of wooshes and flutters! These are things that can only be imagined in car guys dreams! McLaren has ceased production of these truly incredible machines. Please don't wait to schedule a time to come down see one of these remarkable vehicles.
