Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling certain 2017-2021 Sportage and Cadenza vehicles. The electrical circuit in the Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) may short-circuit, which can cause a fire in the engine compartment.

So I called the dealership, and we haggled(good), and agreed on a price this black friday. We were looking to buy a 2015 Mazda 3 hatchback, fully loaded. I dealt with Franklin, one of the sales team, who appeared to be a solid citizen. We drove over 70 miles. As we entered the sales area, the car was in the shop having the battery charged. Not a bad sign, but not a good one. My wife and I walked around the car and noticed a small area on the driver side door handle which was missing paint. Franklin said that they would repaint it, and not to worry. Then my wife test drove the car, loved it, and we sat down for the final paperwork. Franklin said he needed to talk with the sales manager regarding the paint. When he came back he then disclosed that the driver side door had been repaired already, due to an "Accident". It was then I stated, "Why on earth did you not tell me this fact prior to coming down here"? I asked to speak to the sales manager who of course told me, "Well that's why your getting such a good deal". I asked to see pictures of the damage, he refused and told me it was minor. When I asked to see the insurance claim, he only stated it was for $1200.00. I again reiterated that I should have been told about this issue prior to driving down, and thought their tactic of having me drive over 70 miles to try and sell me a damaged car was wrong. I left, without a car, and would never go to that dealership again. If you go, WATCH OUT!!!
