AIR BAGS: AIR BAG/RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2011-2019 Corolla, 2011-2013 Matrix, 2012-2018 Avalon, and 2013-2018 Avalon Hybrid vehicles. During certain crashes, the air bag electronic control unit (ECU) may malfunction, possibly disabling the deployment of the air bags and/or seat belt pretensioners.

TPM sensor replacement - cost more than 2 tires!

I brought my 2010 Corolla in because one of my TPMS was malfunctioning. The person that checked me in told me it was a 90.00 diagnostic fee, but that should about cover the cost of replacing one of the TPM sensors. I said go ahead, and he told me they would let me know cost before work began. I was shocked to hear the price they wanted to charge me was 3 times what I was lead to believe - 270.00, for one sensor replacement. I can buy 4 of them online for 150.00. So now I can spend 90.00 for nothing, or 270? Fortunately, I peeved the service guy off, by suggesting he was ripping me off because I was a lady - and he decided they would refuse to do the work (that was probably already done by this time). So he 'only' charged me 34.00 of the 90.00 and put my old sensor back on. The next day we called two different toyota dealerships and Firestone and were quoted the following different prices for the same work: 226.00, 197.00 and 107 at Firestone. Yea, I believe Toyota Direct was ripping me off!!!
