AIR BAGS: OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM - OCS (FRONT PASSENGER)
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2017 Audi A3 and S3 Sedan vehicles. In a lower-speed crash situation, the air bag control unit software may deploy the passenger frontal air bag improperly if the front seat passenger is sitting on the edge of the seat or is laying in the seat with the seat reclined. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

We recently bought a 4Runner from Vehicles Nashville and after a few weeks had to bring it to Toyota dealership for service. As the mechanic was inspecting it they found foam insulation in the frame covered by black paint and then undercoating. We would not have seen this on initial review and was discovered until the dealership noticed some unusual undercoating. When I brought it to the sales reps attention he seemed to know exactly what the issue was. It was determined by the dealership as well as three other certified mechanics that it was unsafe to drive. When it was brought to the General Manager's attention all we were told was you bought it "as is" even after we told them we weren't looking for all of our money back but just to somehow make it right. Nice going Vehicles Nashville. Next time try standing behind your product.
