Bought new in March of 2016. I've had no problems. Fit and finish is fine. I looked at crew cab but chose double cab mainly for storage bin beneath rear seat, absent in crew cab model not sure why. Storage bin is so handy. I got the factory spray in bed liner it looks nice and gives great traction when walking on it but I was disappointing to see it isn't thick like the Rhino liner I had on my '02 Tacoma. There are a lot of hard plastics used on the interior which I am not fond of but the competition Ford, Chevy, Dodge all use hard plastics inside. Otherwise I really like the interior look. Seats are comfortable. I am 5'10" 190lbs. I have cloth seats and they seem well made. I find the material makes vacuuming up dog hair fairly easy. I really like that the TRD comes with Michelin tires. The cabin is quiet for a truck and on the highway all I can hear is some tire noise. The ride is really pretty smooth for a truck and compared to my '02 4x4 TRD Tacoma. You do feel some expansion cracks on highways but nothing major. Handling is excellent. Exhaust has a nice growl. Transmission shifts smooth. Great acceleration. I have done no towing. Gas mileage seems to have improved a bit. I started with 14.3-14.7 mostly city. Now I am getting 15 mostly city. I haven't had any long highway trips to be able to report mileage.

Had my new truck for about 2 weeks now, so far loving it. Powerful, comfortable and beautiful. I get so many compliments on this truck & am loving driving it. The back seat leg room is the best I have ever seen. My only complaint is the interior storage is very limited. There is a good-sized glove box but about 1/4 filled with owners manual (which I plan to take out and keep on file at home for more space) and one large console storage compartment. Pretty much nothing else. Not even any place to store the parts to the rail system hat came with the truck. One other comment - I don't understand why, when even much less expensive vehicle come with a smart key, Toyota didn't see fit to even make this an option. Otherwise, everything on this truck is top-of-the-line.

Hello... Please let me explain.. I am a LOYAL Toyota Fan Boy! Actually 56 years old. This is my 3rd Toyota Tundra. 2006, 2010, and this one I'm rating is 2016 Tundra Crewmax Limited. I love this truck. But I am rating this a "1" star for the following reasons. And please, read this if you are considering purchasing one and this tip to do on the test drive. I purchased my 2016 Crewmax new and at about 1,000 miles the truck started vibrating at approximately 48-50 mph when it was in 6th gear (overdrive). The Tundra is a 6 speed automatic (overdrive). I took it to the dealer I purchased it from and the mechanic diagnosed and verified my problem. This is where the problems begin. He then got on the phone to "Toyota Tech Line" and they had him "move the tires around", which he did. Bottom line. It didn't fix the vibration around 48-50 mph. So I met with the "regional corporate dude" who went for a ride with me and he even verified the issue but said that the "new one" we drove on the lot did it worse so it was classified as "characteristic". What??? Worse than mine?? That my friends is "corporate speak" for "blow off" / "cover up". So, I took it to another Toyota Dealer and had the mechanic go for a ride. He verified and diagnosed that I had a problem. He even took his laptop computer on a ride after speaking to the Toyota Tech Line and they said to hit the button on his laptop computer every time he felt the problem. He came back and told me he "hit the button" over 100 times. Thus.. Houston, we have a problem verified by 2 Toyota mechanics and the "regional dude". I am heading back for one more time to attempt to get it fixed. The problem is actually getting worse. I currently have about 8,000 miles on my truck. As I stated earlier, I am a complete "Toyota Fan Boy", but the sheer and utter disrespect shown not only to me, but the Toyota Certified Mechanics who are working hard and wanting to fix the problem shown by the "corporate regional guy" is unacceptable and something I would expect from GM, Ford, or Chrysler. But Toyota.... No way. I know they try to "care" about their customers, but with the way I have been "jerked around" and humiliated by the "corporate regional guy" has taken its toll. I guess that's why God created "Lemon Law Attorneys". So, PLEASE READ THIS..... IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BUYING A TOYOTA TUNDRA, PLEASE, ON YOUR TEST RIDE, GO APPROX. 48-50 MPH AND LET IT BE IN 6TH GEAR AND HOLD IT THERE. If you feel the vibration, RUN. Know that they are not going to fix it and call it "characteristic". If you can live with that, then so be it. But, don't say I didn't try to inform and help you in this matter. In fact, according to the 2 mechanics that worked on the truck, apparently there are more people than me "squeaking" about this problem. It is a problem / issue! Best wishes!

Test drove Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge, and Toyota. Ford finished a close second but did have offer the lengthier bed with a double cab. Last two trucks have been Rams...sorry Ram, but these guys got ya this time. Tundra is the best truck for the money based upon my needs

Great truck but I'm sure disappointed in the integrated brake controller. I had a Prodigy P3 in muy 2013 and it worked great. Was so excited about the IBC in the 2013 that I sold the P3 for peanuts. Big mistake. Looking at the Tundra forums, I now see that this is a common problem. Hope TMC addresses this ASAP before someone gets hurt. Sad that the only thing I can mention about an otherwise decent truck is the IBC.

I have owned this Tundra for 10 months now and for the most part am happy with it. Styling ,performance ,comfort , gas mileage are good but the interior dash and driver's side is poorly designed and the new 2017 is the same. The first design mistake was removing the grab handle from the driver's side ; I ordered the parts using a 2013 as reference and put it back on (cost about 150.00) . It is needed by some of us and I don't like using the steering wheel to pull myself in . The second mistake was taking away the daytime dash lights unless the parking lights or headlights are turned on . The dash looks drab and the small gauges are hard to see without dash lights ; I cannot see the savings for omitting them . The third mistake is the placement of controls . When sitting behind the wheel you cannot see the right side controls because the steering wheel completely blocks the view . There is no way that one can see them while driving without leaning far to the right and ducking your head down ; try that at 70 MPH.The lift side is a little better but not much . Lastly the window and door buttons are only lighted for the front ; the back buttons are dark. Very disappointed with the design and am surprised that the 2017 is the same.

This is my 5th new Toyota,only the second truck ..I would have never gotten rid of my '02 Tacoma extended cab SR5 4WD but i needed more power for towing a camper..I had 215,000 on my '02 with no issues..replaced clutch,pp,tob at 205,000 miles is only thing out of PM....Toyotas forever in my family....I have less than 300 miles on it but checked the mileage and i got 18.93 MPG on first trip to the station...Alot of the MPG is the size of the foot...LOL

First of all, the Tundra will get decent gas mileage if driven sanely. Feel's like a much more expensive vehicle than $39k . Mr. Sweers is correct about 5.7 iforce being a "kickass" engine., no need to change. Just love about all of the Tundra.

If you want comfort, protection (in case of accidents) then you got to pay. I know it is high on the gas end, but you can't get a truck that gives you comfort, protect you and your family members, and can haul stuffs and expect 30MPG. If that is what you are looking for then buy a Prius!

Out the gate I will give you the only negatives (more like just OK instead of great) about this truck. First, the suspension in the rear is stiff/tight (to handle the 10K lb tow capacity); it rides like a 4WD that tows 10K lbs. Secondly, the gas mileage is below average. The trade off gives one a responsive power plant of an engine. This bad boy out accelerates the competition with and without a load. Thirdly, Toyota has got to get on board with some more USB ports...seriously....1? I've driven many trucks and managed a fleet of half ton to 2 ton trucks. Really, the Tundra is now more like an F-250 or Chevy/Ram 2500s than the F150, 1500s. Test drive all of the half tons and see which one makes you feel like you're driving a beast. It's the Tundra hands down. The other half ton pick ups really don't hold a candle. Pros...you'll be on the side of the road with a breakdown 75% less than if you buy a Dodge , Chevy, or even Ford (best domestic in my opinion). Resale value best of them all. Turn radius is great for a 4WD truck this size. Crew Max is ridiculously roomy. This truck just kicks azz. All you really have to understand is what you're getting...a powerful, roomy, reliable, SERIOUS truck that won't let you down. If you're not going to tow or go offroad, and really just want a truck for the family and occasionally haul a piece of furniture...get an F-150.

Had a new 2015 Chevy Silverado Crew cab. I put 8,000 irritating miles on it before trading to Tundra. My Chevy had the infamous "Chevy Shake". Truck vibrated bad at speed. After several frustrating trips back to dealer to Change tires twice,multiple road force balancing and pico vibration testing. All attempts to repair failed. My dealer said "it is within GM Spec. On asphalt roads, but failed on concrete roads. So in GM's infinite visdom, they said the truck was typical of this truck? Huh? This is a well known problem and just got too fustrated with the whole GM experience. Traded the vibrator in for a 2016 Tundra Limited. I love it! As has said before, has mileage is poor. But, the motor is very smooth with tons of power. Great proven engine.

SIRUSXM Radio is not a feature I would like in my vehicle. Yes, I have the option to cancel this radio. This is a software program that should not be standard in any vehicle. I should have the option to add this feature to my vehicle, not have it permanently installed in the vehicle.

The first thing to ask yourself is "what do I want the vehicle to do?" I had a 2008 Tundra, and I loved it. Power, comfort, reliability, good looks... had it all. Then I asked the question above when my job changed and I needed something more suited to transporting passengers. Sold the Tundra and got a Honda Pilot. Great SUV, loved it and still have it (now the wife's car). What I found was that I wasn't hauling passengers as often as I thought and was hauling/towing things more often than I planned. I needed another truck. So, I went truck shopping: Chevrolet, GMC, Dodge, Ford, Nissan, Toyota. Once the initial shock of how much prices have risen wore off... I could see that price for comparably equipped trucks was essentially a wash. That favored Toyota, as even the Chevy salesman conceded the Tundra has the highest resale value. When the smoke cleared, Toyota made the best deal on what was actually the truck I wanted: a Blazing Blue Pearl Platinum edition CrewMax. After spending some time with it, I love the truck every bit as much as expected. Ride is plush, electronics are great (much improved from 2008), complete back window raise lower is cool, leather is slick, seats heated AND cooled (wife loved that one), and is beautiful inside and out. Mileage is the same as my old one, and about the same as any big V8 in any brand, but more powerful and torquey than most. Interior storage is my only real gripe, with no storage under or behind the rear seat. That's a serious faux pas on Toyota's part, and needs attention. I have read some trailer brake gripes, but haven't been able to test with a trailer with brakes (I normally pull smaller trailers without brakes) so I can't comment for better or worse. The storage being a single minus against a bed full of plusses, it's an easy 5 stars. VERY glad to be back in a Tundra. NOTE: The application would not let me select best/worst features and just added everything... suffice the information above to say I like the power, comfort, electronics, space inside, looks, towing ability, and resale value. Neutral on mileage: I would like it to be better but it isn't far off any other large V8. Negative is the limited back seat storage. For such a huge area, this should be much better.

Mechanically and technologically superior in every way to domestic competitors. Great value for a work/play truck, but I have some minor gripes. First, NO INTERMITTENT WIPERS! My 1985 F-150 had this. Second is the lack of storage cubby holes in the dash for change keys or beverages. The only way you can store a cup of coffee or water bottle is with the middle seat folded down. Luckily, I solved this problem for $4.99 by buying a console organizer from Auto Zone. This way, I can fit 3 people in the front seat and still store water bottles or coffee. Other than these minor issues, I LOVE THE TUNDRA AND WILL NEVER BUY A DOMESTIC VEHICLE AGAIN!

I've owned many different brands and styles of pickups. I've never been as impressed with this TRD Pro! Made a trip across the country in it, and everywhere I went, it turned heads and started conversations. I've not been off road as much as I would like, but what I have, I have not been disappointed. The suspension is comfortable and well balanced. I looked for a truck where I didn't have to do anything to it to make it work like I needed it to. This is definitely it! Toyota hit one out of the park with this truck!

It's been awhile since owning a truck. Fuel economy is as expected, ride quality, quietness fit and finish and electronics amazing. 1794 is upgraded interior, nice appearance similar to king ranch or Laramie longhorn.

This is the best Truck I have owned. It's great in every way, the fuel economy could be better, but it's a 5.7 V8, so what do you expect. It is very comfortable and very powerful, I have seen some reviews that give it low ratings but they must be bribed by the Detroit brands or have not really tested or owned one because it does not make sense. I have owned other v8 pick ups and this is by far the best. The Titan lasted a long time, but it started falling a part after 5 years so maintenance got expensive, the Dodge Ram I have owned is by far the worst vehicle I have owned in every shape and form. And Dodge is trying to back out of all the warranties they have before Fiat took over so be ware. I have 2 kids and the Tundra CrewMax is very spacious in the back and awesome for road trips and snow trips, the 4x4 is great. do not waste your money on the others, get a tundra, and the resale value is #1 on all full size pick ups. also there are many aftermarket accessories if you are interested in the sort of thing, Texas or not this truck is great. I love driving this thing and the next truck I get if I ever get another one will also be a tundra. these trucks last forever. The ford is OK, so is the GMC, the chevy is like the dodge, cheap and unreliable. But the tundra is the best. you will not be disappointed .

I owned a Tacoma several years ago and decided to go back to a Toyota truck. After researching everything from Ford, GMC, Dodge & Nissan I decided to go with the Tundra. I test drove the new Tacoma but found it to be somewhat cramped inside. I wish Toyota would get away from the steel wheels on their trucks, is it really that much more expensive to use alloy wheels ? I believe a truck should have a V8 and not a V6 turbocharged engine which drove me away from the Ford. A turbocharged engine may be nice when new but they always eventually fail. My only real gripe is that there is no rubber pad for the foot rest on the driver's side, don't recall ever seeing a car or truck without one. Lastly, Toyota please stop with all the warnings on the floor mats.

My experience with my 2016 Tundra SR5 DBL Cab has been a good one. I wanted the Tundra Limited Crewmax but my money and budget was not for this vehicle. But I have been good with this Double Cab. This is a spacious and smooth driving vehicle. Room enough in the back seat to fit 3 medium to large children with confort. There age, size and weight range from ( 25) 6ft 1in 246 lb, (18) 5ft 8in, 120 and (31) 5ft 2in 193.

New but not improved. The engine, transmission, and body remain the same which is good. However some smaller items have been changed. Duel climate control is only on the Limited version and higher. Grab handles for assist into the cab are no longer there. The two glove boxes is now one. The flip open pen holders in the door front doors are gone. Most notable the rear seat used-to slide forward and lean back for rear passenger comfort and sleep. Also the rear seatback no longer leans forward to allow storage behind the rear seat. The area behind the old seat allowed for storage of overalls, tools, jacket, boots and even a fishing rod. The small space below the new rear seats provide much less storage. Exteriorly the bumper now is a three piece bumper versus previous one piece solid bumper. Many of these smaller changes save cost of production and probably don’t influence sales. It’s good Toyota is finding ways to reduce cost of production however the cost savings doesn’t appear to be passed onto consumers. I would still recommend Toyota for its reliability. Luckily I don’t have to replace my old truck yet. Maybe the next truck will be new and improved. One area of improvement could be larger A/C indicator lights. Right now the indicator lights including park and drive often need to be shadowed to be seen. Another improvement could be to change the angle of the windshield. Remember old trucks with nearly straight up windows? The straight angle was for a purpose, to reduce interior heart and glare. CPT Robert Auch RN

If you can get one, buy it! These are built for the serious off roader. That said, the overall on road ride is slightly better than their regular 4X4 model. The look of the Magnetic Gray color is super bad a**. Guaranteed that nobody will have one just like yours. Everything is typical super reliable Toyota quality. Not much more to say.

Such an awesome truck to have such crappy quality control on the IBC. It does not work....on anyone's truck in electric mode. Do the Google search. You will see A LOT of complaints. Someone is going to get seriously hurt with this false sense of security.

To be clear and well explained the fuel tank capacity. Other than that, I'm a happy owner. I had before a sr5 2011 , not bad I have to say but was really bumpy ride at times. The new 2016 with TRD 4x4 Paquette is the best way to go. Dual exhaust system is the best, and comfortable as hell. There's here and there bad reviews, I don't know why , haters, perhaps. You and me we are Loyal to whatever we believed is the best , for me Toyota is the best out here, I have never seen a Tundra on the emergency line in the freeway, have you ? I can tell you some other brands I have seen , lol Be wild and get a Tundra.

Extremely Impressive truck overall. Couldn't really ask for anything more. Only complaints are the Etune/Bluetooth unit does not work properly doesn't always connect to IPhone properly. Seems to be a common issue. JBL system is nice but not amazing. Subwoofer is a little weak. Overall everything else is exceptional.

PLEASE Don't even consider the Big 3.

After 18 years of driving nothing but Dodge, I finally broke ranks and bought a Platinum CrewMax. This is without a doubt the most luxurious thing I have ever owned…or been in. Seriously. This thing is on par with my wife’s Range Rover. Actually…with the air-conditioned seats (which the RR doesn’t have) it is in my opinion more luxurious. With the CM cab, it is like having a small apartment in the rear and we find ourselves opting to take the Tundra on trips rather than the RR. If you are interested in the Tundra CrewMax, I would recommend shopping the used market from 2013 and under. Don't worry about getting a used truck, these things last forever (my parents both have 200K+ on the odometer). In 2014, for some stupid reason, Toyota did away with the slide and recline rear seats in the CreMax which negates the plethora of behind-the-seat storage in the back. From 2014 forward, all the rear seats do is fold from the floor up which is slightly less than useless. Without going into detail, this truck has every option besides remote start. The interior is amazing, quiet, comfortable, well thought out, and just plain works. The parking assist sonar and camera are awesome. The Sat Nav/infotainment is very easy to setup, pair the phone (up to 4), and other Bluetooth players (up to 2). The ventilated seats are a God send in Texas. And the power…my God you could jump start the Earth with the pulling power this thing has. And to the people moaning over mileage, you bought a 5.7 Liter V8…what were you expecting? When not towing, this package rides like a Cadillac. It is so quiet and comfortable it is almost criminal for a pickup truck. Bottom line, some magazine say other trucks have passed the Tundra, but I think they are still catching up…big time. 5 Stars. All the way.

I feel much better with the time tested V8 than Ford 150 Twin Turbo. Truck is currently getting 18.2 mpg mostly highway. Ride is a little stiff with 4WD, but comfortable.

IIt's a great truck. I went from a 2008 Tacoma double cab that I thought was the best truck I could have to this 2016 Tundra and I'm loving it more. It rides great. Pulls exactly what I need and gets the gas mileage it says it should get.

I have never owned a truck before, but I have owned the Sequoia. The Tundra is built on the same platform as the Sequoia, so I think I have a unique experience to be able to compare the two. If I knew then what I know now, I would have saved a ton of money and gone straight to the Tundra! Lots more room in the Truck! My son's hockey equipment fits nicely in the bed of the truck. Added bonus: I no longer have to smell the equipment! Plenty of room for other hockey players and they all have room for their growing legs. The truck handles great, has plenty of giddy up and go and it really comfortable for those long dives to ice rinks all over the state of California and beyond. Gas mileage is averaging 17.5 which is the same as the Sequoia - although the Tundra has a bigger engine and a much bigger gas tank so the time between fill ups is greater. We love it!

2016 Tundra, IBC doesn't work!

Drove 850 miles to P/U a TT. Within a mile I found out the integrated brake controller didn't work at all no matter what setting it was set at. The manual slide does work. Drove all the way home without the IBC. Thanks Toyota! What a let down. Did some research when I got home and found out none of the IBCs work on the 2016 Tundras. Do an online search and you can read all kinds of complaints but Toyota has not even acknowledged it yet. With all the documented problems, what's going to happen when someone unknowingly starts down the Hwy thinking he has trailer brakes and ends up with someone being killed. Who's gonna be at fault? Toyota, you better get this fixed and fast!

This is my sixth consecutive Toyota truck since 1981 so no doubt I'm a faithful Toyota guy. I'm writing this review for one reason only and that's because of the lame integrated brake controller (IBC) in the 2016 Tundra. I've been towing a camper for the past 13 years and I know how to set them up and more importantly know when they are working. When I press on the brake pedal I get no felt braking from the camper even when set on the highest gain setting which considering the weight of my camper which is only 5,000 lbs. loaded, the highest gain setting should lock up my trailer brakes. I took it in for service with my camper and after a test drive while it was hooked up to a computer they said it was working correctly. That's fine for them, but if I jack-knife my camper, I'm the one who has to deal with the consequences of the accident. As the result of this situation, I installed an after-market BC and I'm now set to safely go camping.

Great truck. I absolutely love it. Gas mileage sucks but I traded in a Titan for it so I am used to it. Great towing. Like the title says It will pass anything except a gas station the large gas tank is great but You pay to fill it up. The sound system blows and I replaced the speakers and added a way bigger amp. Otherwise its an awesome vehicle. Toyota has a great maintenance and service program free for the first 3 years. With fantastic resale value the negatives are off set by the positives

Only possible complaint I have with this truck is the fuel economy. I average about 13. However, I do drive interstate most of the time with average speed of 75. This is not a problem for me though I did a lot of research before buying and was aware of the below average fuel economy. The overall quality, comfort, and style of the truck more than makes up for it to me.

I just traded a 2014 Tundra SR5 for a 2016 SR5 TRD. Why.....because the resale is so extraordinary that I can. I love these trucks. The performance is great. It's comfortable and luxurious, hauls building materials, furniture, great in the snow and it tows my 25 foot camper like it's not there. It does it all. They never break and maintenance is free for the 1st 2 years. There's a reason why the resale is good on Toyota trucks.

I am very disappointed in the 2016 Tundra because they have dropped some of the best standard options that were in the prior years. No more electric sliding rear window, no rear door storage pockets, no dual heating/cooling system, the 3 storage areas in the upper console have been reduced to 1, and no center divider storage box in the floor console. It seems like a classic bait and switch scenario. Load up the earlier Tundras with a lot of useful standard options, then when sales get good remove them to cut costs.

Awesome truck. I felt safe and VERY comfortable. You need to buy steps or running boards if you aren't a giant (course, I'm only 5'6"). At first, I thought the visibility wasn't great over the hood, but then I discovered that the seat raises up and down....problem solved! I've owned 5 toyota pick-ups, and their reliability and resale is unmatched.

I was thinking this year I might be looking forward to the new Nissan Titan, but was disappointed when they basically priced me out if you wanted to add any options. I previously was driving a 2012 Suzuki Equator and it was nice enough, but I wanted full size and I wanted some more technical upgrades. I drove the Ford XLT and the GMC Z71 SLE that were both around the same price as the Tundra Limited that I purchased. The other ones were nice trucks but they both felt very incomplete compared to the Tundra. I know I could have a found a Ford or a GMC with the features I wanted, but like the Nissan they would have been out of my price range. The gas mileage might be a little lower, but I really believe I am driving the nicer truck for the money. If anything changes, maybe I will update my review.

The 2016 Toyota Tundra is a great truck. I spent a LOT of timing comparing trucks before I made my purchase. I eliminated the Ram and GM products because of reliability issues I have had with both brands and reliability issues in general. My choice was down to Ford and Toyota. I liked the 2016 F150s exterior styling, but the interior seemed like it was a never ending sea of buttons and quality didn't seem to be quite as good as the Tundras. Most importantly, when comparing models with the same features, the Toyota was about $7,000 cheaper, so even with the slightly better fuel economy of the Ford, the gas savings would never make up for the premium in price (not to mention the increased insurance costs of Fords aluminum body). The Tundra rides quiet and smooth. Comfort is quite nice and I am enjoying the high quality leather seats, sound system, and overall feel of the truck. It is true the gas mileage isn't the greatest, but the engine is strong and I didn't buy the truck to get great gas mileage. The entertainment system is also very easy to use and is very responsive. If you are in the market for a truck, you should certainly take the Tundra for a test drive and see if you can justify the increased cost of the Ford or even GM and forgo the quality of Toyota.
