After 2800 miles the car is averaging 70 miles a gallon. Thete is a power mode button where you can go to full power (121 HP 4 cylinder 1.8 liter) if needed. The car rides great, it is comfortable, roomy, hatchback with plenty of cargo space, double wishbone suspension and amazing MPG with the new rechargeable lithium ion battery.

People know the 4th generation Prius is the most fuel efficient car ever. It is also a great highway car. It's quiet, feels tight and cushions bumps. It cruises effortlessly at 75 mph and still gets 50 mpg. If you go the speed limit you will always get 55-60 mpg. If you want a trouble-free car that is likely to go 200,000 miles and cost little to operate, buy a Prius.

Some people I've met don't like the look of the new exterior design, the look of the wing tip rear lights in particular. I don't mind the looks but it takes some getting used to at first. It grows on you and I remind myself it's not the main reason I bought this car. At least now it has its own identity from the millions of older Prius's out there. The white console and steering wheel appliques have way too much contrast against a black or grey interior. I insisted the dealer include the Black console applique and black interior. The moonscape interior is just too much for me. Besides from some little gripes on appearance, everything else is amazing. I traded in a loaded 2013 Prius and this car is so much nicer. The doors are solid and don't sound like tin cans, the engine electronics give you a noticeable gas mileage improvement. The Bose sound system is much better than the Bose system I had in my old car. The safety technology is very cool, the dynamic speed control is much smoother than my old car. The 2016 Prius looks different but it performs fantastic.

So far after a week of ownership I am getting much better than listed MPG. Today I drove about 50 miles of in city driving with about 5 different locations that I stopped and parked the car I averaged over 70 MPG over the entire trip! Yep 73.1 to be exact (I figure a few mpg fudge by Toyota so lets just say 70)! I am thrilled with the miles per gallon, very impressed with the drive feeling, very secure feeling, decent acceleration, good handling. My only complaint would be the center console that the drivers right elbow sits on is made of some cheap seat material. It screams cheap cheap cheap. Feels cheap cheap cheap. You would think one person involved in the making of this car would have said hey lets make this better. Why not cover that with the fake leather looking stuff that's on the door handles? It would have made the interior much nicer... Update, going on second week, continuing to get 70+ around town. This weekend did first long distance round trip of 200 miles on highway, speed limit 65, averaged 63 miles per gallon over the trip. Still very happy with purchase.

We wanted the Toyota Safety Sense features, but not the moonroof--so we didn't want to buy the technology package. We also wanted a spare tire rather than a repair kit. The Prius Three Touring gave us just what we were looking for, and we are thoroughly enjoying those safety features. It is a Toyota, so everything works as promised, and we get two years of free maintenance. The biggest problem with this car is that we want to take it everywhere--so we're racking up the miles. The claimed mileage range is not correct--so far we're averaging close to 60 mpg (rather than the 52 combined EPA figure.) Of course, we accelerate slowly and use the available feedback to stay in the ECO zone....

The interior of this car is great, the dashboard has improved. The exterior rear light are ugly. The entire exterior rear end is ugly. The sea-glass green looks like a giant insect from the back.

This car is fun to drive. It gives feedback and rates your eco driving on the go. Actually, it teaches the driver to proceed with economy. The car's driver visibility is a tremendous improvement over older models. The screen is a great improvement over the previous generation. We are impressed with the economy of this vehicle.

I ended up with a Prius due to a strong, strong recommendation from a family member who swears by them. I took a data-driven approach to justifying the purchase, showing that the Prius is the car the minimizes lifetime cost for a set of safety, reliability, and size characteristics. Here the Prius has lived up to my expectations. So yes, the Prius does often make sense for your brain. However, make sure that it's really the car that you actually want too. A bunch of things beyond the numbers really bug me about it. The outside is really ungainly, and the inside's high contrast color scheme isn't my style. The center speedometer I thought would be fine, but when I hold my hand around 2 o'clock on the steering wheel, my hand blocks it. Without a doubt the Prius is an incredibly well engineered car, but that's not all there is to a car purchase. If I were doing it again, I'd choose one of the many other cars that is also well engineered but looks and feels a bit more conventional.

We found the restyled Prius to be quite comfortable and are delighted that the gas mileage is even better than what we got with our 2010. We opted for the advanced technology package in order to add the safety features-lane departure alert, adaptive cruise control, etc.-and we are happy to have done so. (Our insurance rates are actually lower than what they are for the earlier Prius based on those safety features.) The car rides smoothly and easily and is a pleasure to drive. Neither of us was crazy about the white plastic console which looks cheap. Note too that the wireless car charging port won't work with an iphone 6 plus. Finally, we purchased the Level 3 trim because that is the highest level that is available with a spare tire. I, personally, would not buy a car that offered only a repair kit that might or might not be sufficient in an emergency.

This car is fun to drive. There is a visibility issue. It a very smooth ride and handles well. This isn't a sports car so the acceleration isn't there but it has a power mode. Also, there no privacy in the trunk. You can see the entire trunk from the outside. I bought a large bin for this. Otherwise, the more I drive it, the more in love I am. I keep discovering cool techie things. Plus it's a cool looking car. Love the lights. I didn't buy it because it was a hybrid. I bought it because it was cool. The hybrid was just extra.

This is our 3rd new Prius. First was bought in 2005 and major concern was would it start sitting outside in cold weather. Would the battery work and last? Local dealers hadn't seen a hybrid car when we had the oil changed locally. Bought a 2010 Prius II. 110,000 miles later all we change are tires and oil. With every generation they have gotten better. We finally stepped up to the 2016 Prius IV because we wanted the blind spot indicator. The cabin and ride are all improved. The headlights are better than the 2010 which were better than the 2005. There are many great cars available today, but the cost per mile to purchase and drive keeps bringing us back to the Prius.

Oh man the seats are very uncomfortable, small and even on a short drive can create back pain. Also very difficult to get in and out of the front seat. Visiblity very bad, the back seat head rest impede view through the back window. Very little storage, crummy single cd player. Interior trim around instruments and center console made with very cheap plastic materials. No spare tire! Wow Toyota how the mighty have failed. I had a 2007 touring Prius and loved it but this 2016 falls short on every aspect in comparison other then mileage.

How can Toyota come out with such a great cat with one big flaw.. the seats for long distance driving are the worst of any car I have owned. we latterly crawl of the car after a long road trip. this is the reason I will get rid of it asap. will get less millage but better seating in something rather than this. (have owned 5 Toyotas.

Read all the specs before shopping. I spend 10-12 hours doing research but it was worth it. The Prius is not one car; there are many models and one more is forthcoming by the end of 2016. In the beginning I was confused. Prius C, Prius Persona, Prius Two, Prius Three, Prius Three Touring, Prius Four, Prius Four Touring (my choice), Prius V. This car was purchased for my 18 year-old daughter who is in college in Marin County California so her priority was mileage. The Prius can't be beat in this category. I wanted safety included so I chose the safety features of the Prius Four Touring. The lane deviation warnings and the breaking features. The internet has charts comparing the features so be sure and find out which model is best for your needs. The car gives you a tutorial after you drive it. My first drive from the lot was from 4 miles to 6 miles. The lesson: 'you can get better mileage if you don't accelerate so quickly.' Ouch! Lesson learned. The trim lines of the car and those unique tail lights that stand out at night on the 2016 model are classy. We also bought her the tire and wheel warranty, Cilajet coating and the maintenance plan. Check the prices of options with the finance manager. That increased the price about $4,125. We got a $2,000 credit and 1.9% 5-year financing. The paid for price includes all options, sales tax, license and processing fee. It is the 'out the door' price. The MSRP was $32,964. By the way, my daughter loves her new Prius. She has some wheels to go with that 3.7 GPA. The father is a happy man.

Went with the Eco to get the extra mile or two. So far I have 4k miles and have just finished a 250mi road trip avg 62mpg.... mostly highway. I commute 100mi a day and usually get around 55-56 doing 70-75. Anything over that kills the mpg. From 45 to 60 is the sweet spot. I'm starting to like construction zones on the highways due to the slow down;). Still has enough get up on the highway if you need to move. insurance is crazy cheap. my 08 Hummer cost an extra $100 every 6months.

Look no further if you want a car with excellent gas mileage and reliability. Average 55mpg on the highway! Toyota has done a great job on the seamless transition between the gasoline engine and battery power. Assembly quality is very good. Now for the not so good. The windshield on this car is a rock magnet. Have had more windshield rock strikes in 3 months than in years with other cars. Plan on replacing the windshield, if you drive a fair amount on the highway. Dealer was unable to fix a recurring clunk in the trunk experienced when driving over uneven pavement separations on the highway. This is not typical for a Toyota. The 2016 Prius sits lower than the previous generation. You will tire of climbing out of the car after awhile. Navigation system is not easily accessible and quite frankly mediocre. The small sun visors are totally useless when pivoted to the side window in an attempt to block the sun. No spare tire. Lastly, the resale value is poor. The money saved on gas will be lost and then some, unless you keep the car for 10 years.

We traded in our 2008 Prius, it had all bells and whistles, low miles. Nothing wrong. Reason we traded was because of the safety features. We are very pleased with those features. Our old vehicle had more up front storage, but, not as much fun to drive. This is a great little car, that gets great gas mileage to boot!

I have owned the 2016 Prius since Feb 2016. Both my wife and I love this car. We have the white interior below the instruments which causes glare at times. I like to pass on what I have learned in driving this car. It's not a negative but important to be aware in my opinion. The drivetrain does not slow down this car with the foot off the throttle. Contrary to cars with a conventional transmission, the engine and transmission cannot be used as a brake on the Prius. In other words, when reducing speed, the Prius “coasts like a bicycle” and behaves like it is in “neutral” and not “in gear.” This is due to the exceptionally low frictional losses that were designed in both the engine and transmission. Until I became aware of this, I came close to running into cars stopping ahead of me because by life-long habit I was subconsciously trying to use the Prius drivetrain as a brake. To my surprise, I traveled faster then I initially calculated which necessitated slamming on the brakes at the end. To compensate for this, use only the brake to slow down.

I leased this car and plan to re-lease in three years. Bought it for the mpg and crash test ratings. I like the ease of the shifting selector. I like the "glide" factor when underway. I think the Dunlop tires wont last the 3 years. Cargo space is good for 2 people. Love the dash display info. Because it's lower to the ground than my 2002 Highlander - I've had to adjust getting in and out of the car. There are blind spots with the side mirrors. I removed the back seat head rests for a better rear view. The middle storage/cup consul is adequate. Like the 4 windows automatic up/down. Bought the Toyota brand rear cargo tray. There is a driver side door/window air noise. I have to buy after market sun visor extenders because it only covers half the window. Edmunds.com was helpful with negotiating the price.

The fourth generation of the Prius is a winner! First week I had the car we drove from OC to Yosemite to the Northern California coast experiencing city, mountain, and open road environments. Handled "The Grapevine" with ease, capturing lots of energy on the downhill side. Acceleration was surprisingly good, and the ride was much smoother than previous generations due to the suspension upgrade and good support in my cloth seats. Navigation was accurate with excellent alternatives provided when I decided to explore some other roads. AC kept us very comfortable in 100+ degree weather. 1066 miles on 18.3 gallons of gasoline!

Great Value, though quite annoying

This is a great car, it gives you fantastic mileage and it seems very reliable. Toyota's flagship hybrid car does what you expect it to do. Now, there are a few EXTREMELLY annoying features on this car that will make you think about it twice before buying it. Firstly, the beeping: You are going to have loud beeping for almost anything you do, being the most irritating the one when you hit reverse. It's piercing, loud and cannot be heard outside of the vehicle, which kind of seems kind of idiotic. Why would you want an annoying loud beep sound INSIDE of your vehicle when you are in reverse mode? To warn you that you are in reverse mode? but you are the one hitting reverse, so you know, and as you are going back, you still know you are going back, so why a beep? I still have no answer for that, but it makes parking very unpleasant and it CAN NOT BE SWITCHED OFF. I repeat: IT CANNOT BE SWITCHED ON, E.V.E.R.. Also, every time you open the drivers door, you also get a LOUD beep, and it CANNOT BE SWITCHED OFF. Guess what? You already know you are opening the front door, because you are the one doing it! So, why that loud beep? yep. Surprisingly, you can exit the car, close the doors with your remote still leaving the car on, and it will remind completely silent, even though that WILL FOR SURE HAPPEN to you at some point if you never owned a keyless car. I can guarantee you that. There is a nice screen that allows you to read text msgs from your phone and even play video and watch pictures. However, it will not do that unless you car is stopped (and I believe the engine is off). So even if the co-pilot decided to watch pictures in the larger screen from their phone or just use the screen during a long trip, they cant do it. This feature cannot be overridden either. The car basically treats you like you are 4yo and it's loud. I have been driving for 20 years, If I buy a car, I want a car, not a baby sitter with a loud piercing horn. Period. Another thing is the location of the mail panel. If you are tall or average height, your right knee will hit it. I get it, this is not a big car, still there are other ways to configure the inside so things don't get in the way. While that may not be a big deal as you drive test it on the dealer, it will became painful in a daily basis. I can also guarantee that. In conclusion, this is a great car, with a terrible computer built in computer. If we could just switch it off all together and just drive the damn thing, it would be a very valuable vehicle. But that's not the case.

If there was an option for 6 stars for this specific vehicle, I would be the first to check that. I am a very picky individual and my taste in choosing my vehicles are very unique, in my opinion. First off, I highly prefer vehicles fully manufactured in Japan. Guess what? The Prius is one of them. Most importantly, Toyota has truly made a huge leap with their redesign on the new Prius. Yes, the exterior design gets a lot of heat and negativity, but if you have the courage to look past that and focus on the essence and beauty of the vehicle, it truly is an engineering marvel. The L.E.D lights - front and back - are state of the art and look like laser lights, especially from the rear. The interior is like I've never seen before, and when I sit in, it feels so driver oriented - I'm thinking Toyota has taken ideas from their sports car - the 86. The road holding and balance is so incredibly tight and smooth. The steering has so much richness and it's very well weighted with an expensive feel. I opted for the version 3 since it seems to have the best value with its features - nav, L.E.D lights, lithium ion battery, 3 door smart entry, alloy wheels with two tone cover, Softex steering wheel, etc. The Prius is struggling to sell as of late - probably due to the low fuel prices, plus folks aren't comfortable with the polarizing looks and are taking their time to get used to the latest design which represents the future. And so I took advantage of Toyota's incentives to push these vehicles. Got a fair deal with their 0% financing along with over $3k off the purchase with no trade. I've owned nothing but sports cars in the past, and the latest Prius doesn't make me miss them whatsoever. It's packed with so much excitement if you know where to look and how to appreciate. It's only been 200 miles since my purchase, and this car is the very best one I've experienced - and trust me, I'm all about that experience.

the car is not really suitable for the shak oneal size, better for us smaller folks! It is great to drive, has made us more energy conscious! better mileage than what has been published....huge learning curve for the electronics, maybe we'll know most by the time the car has logged 50,000 miles. husband has an antique muscle car, threatens to record the engine noise on a disc, play it in the prius at a stop light (with the windows rolled down), but he loves the prius!

For a small car,the new Prius is head and shoulders above its competitors in performanceand features it offers,but at a price. Compared to the Hyundai Sonata Limited I'm currently driving,it provides much better mileage with its 1.8 engine,which while quite adequate, lacks the snappier performance of the Sonata's 2.4 engine. Surprisingly,the ride is actually more comfortable than the larger, roomier Sonata. Both handle well. The interior trim does leaves something to be desired,while the expensive add-ons are a negative,however.Still, my research indicates it to be one of the safest, most economical autos to own for the long haul and has superior resale value.

My biggest concern are the dealerships.They are still using the same old tactics of trying to get you to "dicker" with them. I'm so sick of it. I wish Toyota could just offer their best deal and not have to go through these rip-off artists. Otherwise, the car is wonderful! I now have two Prius(es)? I love my 2012 Prius but I love my 2016 Prius even more! The acceleration, handling and comfort is improved. I ordered leather seats but they have not come in yet.

So I've owned hybrids for quite a while -- mostly various Prius generations. My 2005 Prius was an absolute workhorse -- never an issue. I decided to try a 2013 Ford C-Max, and the thing was in the shop *every single month* since the moment I bought it (sold it 8 months later). When the 2016 Prius became available, I was really torn. I love the look of the Chevy Volt, the ability to plug it in, and all the features it has over the Prius (remote start, parking assist), but reading reviews for the 2016 and 2017 were shaky at best. I test drove a couple of them, and although they were quiet and responsive, they had a few cons as well, and I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much money on something that doesn't have a proven track record for reliability. So, I test drove the Prius 4, with technology package. Although the acceleration isn't meant for drag racing, the car is pretty quiet, and it is such a smooth ride. Brakes are leaps and bounds better than the Volt -- seriously. I read a lot of reviews on the 2016 from other Prius owner's, claiming they're getting in the high 50's, and that Toyota really underestimated the MPG this time. Let me just say... I do NOT drive like a grandma, I've been in Normal mode the entire time, and over 600 miles later, it's showing I'm averaging 64 mpg. I thought, "No way!" My husband also has a 2013 Prius, and his just barely gets 50mpg. First fill up (over 500 miles later), I double checked, and it's 100% accurate -- 64mpg. Between the reliability and the gas mileage -- I absolutely adore my Prius!

Four tanks of gas on my brand new 2016 Prius 3 Touring. Each one @ around 500 miles. Tank 1 = 56 mpg. Tank2=58 mpg. Tank 3=61 mpg. Tank 4= 57 mpg (driving over 11,000 ft. continental divide twice same day). Total AVG = 58 mpg. Most miles are highway, but drive it nearly everywhere including all my short shopping trips to store, etc. I'm very pleased. Before this, I owned a 2004 Prius that I put 175,000 original miles on it. When I drove the 2004 over the continental divide, the mileage dropped into the low 40's. As shown on tank #4 stats above, the new Prius 3 held up immensely well at 57 mpg. One thing my wife definitely doesn't like is the lack of storage, but then again, you ought to see her purse! I actually wanted to try out a new 2017 Volt, but after seeing several write ups of inverter problems that are a huge mechanical problem to correct, I decided to stay with the Prius.

I had driven the previous Prius model in hopes of going hybrid, but walked out of the dealership thinking I'd rather be bathed in honey and thrown in a mosquito infested swamp than drive that thing every day. The dynamics were awful, steering was numb, the interior was drab and I overall hated it. So you could say I was skeptical about the 2016, especially since it's not exactly easy on the eyes. I have to say, I am totally impressed with this vehicle and genuinely enjoy driving it. The ride is comfortable. The steering and handling are more than adequate. The trunk is perfect for carrying all of our baby stuff and groceries around in. The transition between gas/electric is seamless. The AC has been great in the current 96 degree weather. We're averaging 49 MPG but are only 90 miles into it, with AC cranked, so I expect that to increase as we learn to drive our new car/spaceship/computer. The rear seats are a little tight, but are comfortable and the Moonstone interior is really nice.

First, if you never have owned a Prius the 2016 is a great vehicle. If you are coming from an earlier edition the 2016 has many improvements. I would upgrade to a Model Four. My 2012 is a Model 2 and I think it is worth the extra money to get the options. Many improvements including build quality can be seen. The changes in the suspension do make a difference. The materials inside are greatly improved. I don't think they feel cheaply made. The only negative feedback I would give between the 2016 and the previous generation is drive sits lower in the car and the car feels lower in the from. Once you scrape the front end/ bumper you will understand. As a iPhone user the ability to charge an Android based phone is useless to me. The seats in the 2016 feel more supportive than those in my 2012. This car is for people are interested in getting good MPG's. I am a former Nissan Leaf (2013) and BMW I3 (2014) owner. So far I can say I am very happy with my purhase.

It's a reliable car with great gas mileage. The car is much better insulated so you don't hear too much of the outside noise. For the basic it has everything I would need.

I took one test drive and knew this was the car for me. Several years ago we drove a Prius hybrid rental and liked it, but it wasn't anything special. As soon as I started driving the 2016 Prius I was enjoying the ride, even in rush hour traffic. It handled easily, provided a smooth ride, easily kept pace with traffic, both slow and fast and was quiet. I bought it that night. The gas mileage is exceeding what I was expecting for combined street and highway driving. Even my husband can drive it. He is 6' 5" and the joke has always been we had to try on cars rather than picking the one we wanted, we had to take the one that he could get into whether it was comfortable or not. Even with the moon roof, his head does not bump the top of the car. I can get 3 dog kennels in the back and still have room for luggage. AND it also fits into our garage even with the full size van, freezer and storage in the front part of the garage.

Pros of the Toyota Prius V: I purchased the 2012 Prius V (5) The space is terrific for families or active persons. The hatch back has fantastic room, I put the back seats down and pack boogie boards, surfboards, a bike or even a piece of furniture I purchased from the store. Love the back seat leg room. My family is tall and have long legs, the room is comfortable for them and the shoulder room is also. Love the technology, I have had no problems with the car in the 4.5 yrs I owned it. This car is great on gas !! I previously owned a van because i needed the space but the gas was like another car payment, With my van i spent about $425.00 per month on gas verses with the Prius V I only spend $70.00 !!! That is a huge savings and I can still fit the things I need in the Prius V. DOWNSIDE OR CONS: THE PRIUS V IS VERY NOISY ON THE HIGHWAY. WE HAVE TO SPEAK LOUDLY TO HEAR EACH OTHER. IT IS NOT A QUIET RIDE. VERY UNFORTUNATE.

We got ours at Longo Toyota in Los Angeles. The negotiation process was done through email, so no harassing phone calls from sale reps. With the July 4th rebate, I was able to get the best deal and the color of the car that I wanted. I believe July4th is the best time to get a car because the selection is larger. It has been the 3rd week I have driven the car, so far it is very smooth. I drove 400+ with 1/4 of gas left. I plan on letting it drive for an other week.

I've always driven sports/sporty cars, 65 Sunbeam Tiger, '70 Datsun 240Z, (30 years of driving station wagons) and 10 years of Pontiac Fieros. I know how a car should handle, and I learned to drive very smoothly and so have always gotten the most mpg out of a car. At 65, when I retired in 2011, I decided that I didn't want to be that 'old guy' driving the 20 year old Buick. I had been following the Prius since its intro and finally decided that Toyota had gotten it right and purchased a Prius 3. Since then every time I get to the end of the warranty (about 18-24 months) I get a new one. Loved the handling (for a sedan) and have pitched it around Watkins Glen race track. In power mode my Prius did the published 10.1 0-60 and that's quite quick for a lower cost sedan with a 95 bhp motor. But the electric motor kicks in like a F-1 KERS when you hit the pedal or Power mode button. The interior was clean and functional with comfortable seats and the all electronic dash, monitoring and mid-dash displays. All the bells and whistles. The only real objections I had with the '11, 13, and, '15 models were the rear window wiper bar, (you don't notice it after a while and it doesn't really hamper vision) and the safety limitations on function use, like GPS or address searches while driving. Heck, if it can tell the passenger doesn't have the seat belt buckled, it should be able to tell you have a 'navigator' to use those functions and not impair a lone driver's safety performance. Mpg on those cars was (not by Toyota's calculator, which is always 2-3 mpg optomistic) combined city/hgwy; '11-50.9, '13-48.8, and '15-48.0. My new wife and change in driving patterns are likely the reason for the slight decreases. When I saw the 2016, I wasn't impressed with the redesign as it looked too much like everything else now than before and a little too angular with less character for me. The seats are narrower and lower, and I'm a big, old guy, so I prefer the older ones, but I've gotten used to the newer. The hood is chopped and easier for the driver (especially shorter ones) to see the actual front of the car. The back-up cam is improved also. The dash is more stylish but the readouts have been improved. Toyota switched the positions of the battery and gas tank and lowered the car a little, so there's no longer as much leg room in the rear, unless the driver and passenger are short. The rear storage area is a little smaller too and the car now has a spare tire, but it still allows a lot of bags of recycling stuff when the seats are folded down. I prefer the old package cover system. The interior is more directed to a younger crowd, but everything is very easy to read and reach; and sun glare on the dash is no longer a problem. Ride and handling are improved, road noise down and the doors no longer sound like tin. The CVT is great and the drive choices have changed. The old system was Evo or Power, The new system has an EV mode (strictly battery), or a Drive mode, which gives a choice of Normal, Evo or Power. I'm really not sure what Normal is as I only use Evo and Power is just as easily obtained with your right foot as the CVT just sees it like passing gear in an older car. No trouble passing slower traffic and if you don't use the brakes on hills, you're soon doing 60-70 as it coasts along upping the mpg and recharging the battery. It also seems like the ABS has been improved with less frequent easy 'lock-up'. I've find the Prius hi-mile tires (all years) iffy in the rain ( I never tailgate) and last year tried a used set of 215/40x17 Nitto Neogen tires with a more aggressive tread for snow. Didn't do much for that, but they were way better for stopping in the rain and no appreciable change in mpg. With all of this, I expected the car to have gotten 'heavier' with less mpg. But no, and I don't know how Toyota did it but for the first 3000 miles I've had the car my best tank was 63.0, the worst 57.1, overall for 3k 60.8. This is by my calculation not Toyota's which says 63.5. Love these cars and cant' wait for the '18 and just hope they don't stick on one of those 'big mouth bass' grills that seem so popular. I'd rate the first 3 as 8/10. The 2016 is a 9/10 to me.

My third. Loved the old ones, but this one is a different animal. While not a hard core hyper-miler, where the old model got 60 mpg, this one clocks 80 mpg on the same circuit. Significant changes where EV mode kicks in, even as high as 61 mph! Ride and power are massively improved. Toyota is still the king of hybrids with the Prius being the crown jewel.
