SEAT BELTS:REAR
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Nissan Titan Crew Cab and Titan XD Crew Cab vehicles. In the event of a crash, the rear seatbelt assembly may not adequately protect the occupant's head, allowing it to contact the D-ring bolt trim cap. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 201, "Occupant Protection in Interior Impact."

This has just truly proven to be a joke. Called about a Chev Traverse. Said it was in and immaculate. Asked if the miles were 12k said yes. Drove 1hr to see vehicle. As I pulled into the lot, it was CROWDED. Too crowded. I went into the horribly maintained building (RED FLAG)and I ask for Ceasar and a guy said he would be right back so i went out on the lot to look at the other vehicles. RED FLAG. All the vehicles had over 100K. Don't have a problem with that at all but wondered why the traverse only had 12K. When Ceasar showed up he pulled the vehicle out (i'm still amazed he got in the door with it being so crowded). I noticed smoke coming from the tailpipe and he said it was condensation (note smoke wasn't coming from my 2004 Chry T&C and it has 160K). The car was clean and gorgeous as they stated but when i ask for the auto check (that he said he had on the phone) he couldn't produce one. He eventually showed it to me on his phone (i thought this was funny...lol). I asked him if he could print it and he said no...so I was about to leave and he then was able to print it (this was funnier). I told him on the phone I was going to get it inspected by a GM mechanic on the phone but when it was time for me to take the vehicle...he kept babbling about how they will find something to convince me to buy their vehicle. I informed him that I was capable of discerning rhetoric and took the vehicle to get inspected. After a few minutes the GM lady called me to the desk to inform me that the vehicle had almost 130K. I say this wholeheartidly, GET YOUR USED CAR INSPECTED BY THE MAKER particularly if you're buying at a small side dealer. It's worth the lousy 100 bucks. I don't have a problem with the small dealer as many are honest (I also purchase my T&C from a small (albeit clean) dealer in dallas with no problems. Ok where am I, oh yea, I took the vehicle back to them and informed him that the vehicle, cars.com, and autotrader had the vehicle at 12,205 miles. He said it was a mistake yada yada. at the writing of this WARNING Cars.com still shows the vehicle with 12K. By the way, I am not a complainer in any shape or form. I write this simply as a word of caution with ANY small time dealer purchase. USE WISDOM MY FRIENDS!!!
