Worst Lexus Service Center

Customer Service: 1.0 Friendliness: 1.0 Overall Experience: 1.0

I've owned 4 Lexus vehicles and considering replacing my wife's car since we like them, the service and their reliability. Last week I made an oppointment at Smyrna Lexus, GA to replace the dashboard as part of a recall for the leather failure in a our vehicle (after waiting about a year for the parts). I brought my car in as scheduled at 7ish am and after 3pm I'm told that the work has not commenced. The service agent could not reasonably explain this, to make matters worst he was adamant that I return the loaner vehicle that day, pick-up my vehicle and to reschedule the work at a later date. He could not provide a time in the next few days or weeks to do work. It was clear that Lexus was not exicited about doing this recall work. What a horrible experience, I don't plan to ever bring my vehicles to this service center or purchase a car from this dealer. What ever happened to "pursuit of perfection".

This is a great car but an interior brake cover came off the second day out making a scary racket! Dealer promptly fixed it. The mileage is not up to EPA claim; why can't they get this right? Generally very happy and hope the brake cover problem is a fluke.

This is a Luxury automobile and as such should have luxury features. It has quite a few but here is what it does not have. I think I am bothered as much as to why these features are missing as I am that they are missing. First, there is no digital speedometer. Today’s analog speedometers are hard to see and under certain conditions very hard to see. With police having zero tolerance for speeds over the limit in some places the 20mph increments on the analog speedometer won’t cut it. My 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee has not one but 2 digital speedometers plus the analog. One is on the dash and one is on the navigation system and turns red if you exceed the limit. The Lexus has the hardware and processors to provide the digital speedometer but Lexus chose not to for on ES350. The dealer told me if I bought a more expensive model I could have it. I have 2 digital speedometers on my smart phone that are free. Second, there are no warning sensors to protect against high curbs. The low slung front end looks great but if you get too close to a curb you are in for a horrendous repair bill. The parking assist front sensors won’t help on high curbs. Add 2 more properly angled sensors and problem solved. I think this problem is well understood by Lexus and was left uncovered on purpose. My friends F150 Ford truck has 360 degree cameras that also do the trick. Hardly a luxury vehicle. Lexus wants to fix your front end damage$$$. Third, there is no “remote start” on the FOB. Most other cars have this. Lexus wants you to buy the Enform app that does this. The app costs a lot of money after the first year and there is such a delay to the actual remote start it is unusable in many situations. Once again my 4 year old Jeep has instant remote start on the FOB as do just about all other vehicles. Lexus says the app has other stuff like a vehicle locator. A vehicle locator can be had as a free app on any smart phone. After the first year, if you don’t pony up for the Enform Remote , Lexus says they will not help you find your stolen car. Isn’t that sweet. Fourth, there is no map button. You cannot touch one button in a hurry to get to the Navi map to see what the next street name is. You can if that’s you only home screen but that silly when the home screen has split screen capability. The Lexus used to have a map button but took it away in this generation. Yes the Jeep has one. Once again, this is an obvious omission….but why? There is a button to get to radio and media. How about a voice command you say. That takes you to the Navi but starts asking questions. They could have a “go to map” voice command but don’t. How about just hold the home button down to get there or any of 10 other ways.

I've only had my 2016 ES 350 since December of 2015. It only have 5000 miles.Love my car until this past July my car starting doing some weird sound after taking off from a traffic stop light. Once I accelerated the car it made like loud thump and the speed diminished. I couldn't make the car go over 20 miles per hr because it started to make the thump sound again. Also the traction control came on when it made the sound. Long story short I got a tow truck to take my car to the dealership and they made the analysis and it turns out to be the transmission. But according to Lexus consumer hot line and the dealership they only cover a refurbished transmission not a new one. So for right know I am paying for a vehicle that is not drivable and going back and forth with Lexus to get a new transmission. This has been a big headache we just going to have to see what the outcome will be for my car.

Great ca

I traded a 10 yr old GS350 for the new ES. I like the front-rear-and side warning beepers and blue tooth android connection for Pandora. There is a very slight degrade in handling stability compared to the rear wheel drive and suspension of the GS but more than made up by the quietness and comfort of the new ES. I got what I thought was a a good deal on the 2016 model - $7500 off MSRP and the $11.5k for the trade in of the '07 GS with 54k miles. The car has 400+ miles and so far no problems except for the Pandora dropping out occasionally. Car is as pleasure to drive. My only suggestions would be for an 8 speed transmission and a little tighter suspension for less roll on turns.

Not a "WOW! But a nice driveable vehicle.

I have leased/ purchased 12 Lexus vehicles prior to the 2016 ES 350, including 4 ES's, 3 RX's, 3 IS's, and 2 GS's. I currently have a 2015 GS 350. My 2014 ES 350 was coming off lease and was traded for a 2016 ES 350 Luxury with 18 wheels. I looked at several other brands this time, but kept coming back to Lexus as the lease deals are hard to beat in this segment. I was very surprised how much better the '16 is verses the '14. The 2014 ES 350 was ok, but had several downfalls. The ride was just ok, bumps got through. I hated the wood steering wheel, among a few other things. That car was sort of a marsh mellow. Mushy steering, handling, seating etc. The 2016 has greatly improved these things. The seats are better, being slightly firmer with good support for long drives. The steering is more direct. There is definitely more sound deadening in this new one. The ride is much better, with much improved absorption of bumps. I'm not going to debate the spindle grill, thats personal taste. It does blend in well on this design, unlike some other Lexus vehicles where the spindle protrudes. I recently completed a 7 hour drive, and my hands didn't hurt with the new steering wheel design. It is much more padded than the old one. I thought I would never used radar cruise, but it worked flawlessly on a long trip. This is primarily my wife's car, and she really likes it. I feel its a big improvement over the previous ES. The dealership experience was great as well. Is it perfect? No, but neither is any car out there. What could be better? Start with Lexus Enform. Ridiculous amount of steps to remote start the car. Apps are useless, better just to have the passenger use their smart phone. There are still some hard plastics in the interior, such as on the door panels, and where the driver's right leg hit the center console. Is it a GS 350? No way, but that car is more expensive. The ES has a very large rear seat, uses regular fuel, and is priced very well in this segment. Overall, I am very satisfied with this car. I am very happy that there has been refinements over the previous one.

Leased this car about a week ago, salespeople used every ploy, including letting me test drive a car with better stereo. This is just a jazzed up Toyota sold as a luxury sedan. If you think Japanese cars are great then you might be tempted, don't! This is a cheaply built sedan, doors do not shut right, interior trim is made of thin plastic (just open the glove box - carefully so you don't tear it off - cheap) wind noise is loud at 70MPH, transmission and engine sound okay but I probably shouldn't hear them at all. The technology is flimsy and there just so you can have a box to check for your features. There is nothing remarkable about this car. There are many many finer cars on the market, if you don't like American and don't want to pay for German try Korean. I have known many people that have been very happy with KIA and Hyundai. Lexus dealers are like used car dealers, count your fingers if you shake hands with them! I will be so happy when I can return this car to the pirates that got me into it. Good Luck!

This car is delightful to drive! The ride is so very quiet - no road noise at all! The stereo (standard issue) has an amazing sound. The mileage I'm getting is between 24- 25. This is mostly rural/suburban driving of about 20 miles a day. I've had the car for 9 months - about 7,000 miles - and I've had zero issues. The technology is too involved to figure out for myself - I called and spoke to the dealership's technology person, but found her not very helpful. I didn't get much training on the technology at the time of purchase/lease - so that was unfortunate for me. I live several hours from the closest dealership - so they sent someone to pick up the car for its 6 month check up, they washed it and returned it the following day.

Good Smooth engine, transmission Park assist, rear camera Past exceptional service from dealer Baddd.. Rough ride, my last lexus had a softer, smooth ride Nav, where do i start? Picture driving with one hand and using a laptop with the other. Almost a dexterity test. Very dangerous car Would love a front camera to see parking lot concrete strips 18 mpg around town Why a dial for different driving modes: sport, econ, normal? Why do you have to reset the mode every time you start the car. A simple switch would be better. Some noise from moonroof area.

This is a great car.not only in luxury but in value. I have shopped Acura Tl, too small for a large size man, same with Camary and Accord. My main concern was with the new safety technology , I was a driving school supervisor years ago. It has all since I went with the most options, Radio is outstanding Mark Levinson is worth the price. I have owned Infinity Q45, G37x, Acura TL, Acura SL, and Toyota Prius, nothing compares with the car or its value Thank you Lexus, and my 1986 Cressida was just a sample of your quality. Just a note I have not been advised or paid for this endorsement Again, what a auto Stewart Charaton

This automobile was on my short list. Now, after several years, I am finally prepared to purchase a car that will last me for the next 10-12 years. Overall, I was very pleased with the 2016 es350 Ultra Luxury Sedan, and would have "plugged the trigger" and made the purchase. However, due to the terribly designed headrest in this car, I will sadly have to pass. What a shame! The car is everything I need and want. Unfortunately, there really is no way for me to be comfortable while driving. I tend to sit fairly erect when I drive, and the headrest makes me very uncomfortable. I am 6'0. Now, I am considering my other choice, 2016 Toyota Avalon Limited. Of course, it will lack several "luxury touches", but the headrest is not as intrusive as the es350. I wish Lexus would make an adjustable headrest that you could adjust an inch or two backwards. I know this is for safety, but I feel certain that I am not the only person that feels this way.

Overall experience is great. It feels like a driving a spaceship! (Considering that I have never driven a luxury car before). One thing I am not crazy about is the door slamming. Those doors don't close easily. Both I and my passengers find ourselves miss the first try a few times. The acceleration is not the best which I have expected but somehow still feel the need to say it here. The look of the car (in and out) is awesome. I am a fan of the spindle grille (that is all that matters). Somehow the feeling of sharp image but comfortable ride works out for me. The white color (eminent pearl white) I chose does bring some challenge in the days after a snow. The fact that this is a nice and new car make the dirty mud on the car less bearable.

Been driving about a month now. Changing from Audi A6 07 model, ES gives me more comfort and convenience yet I can't give it five stars since it has a bit unsturdy lower body in the highway driving. Also it has lot of IT stuffs, mobile connections etc. However the User interface is not really user friendly. For instance, it's hard to control the navigation. There's no Navi button anywhere in the panel. In order to go to Nav, at lease two or three steps you need to use fake mouse that ES provides. And its map is really crappy. Voice recognition needs a lot of improvement compared to other German cars. The default speakers are acceptable, but some AM radio stations (although it has HD radio option) sound almost inaudible. The manually folding side mirrors are design fault in the big sized car like ES. Its gas tank is such small that allows to go upto 350 miles with full tank. I know I sound a bit harsh but these are my impression of 2016 ES350.

If you have owned a 2011 or 2005 Lexus do not expect the same comfort inside or on the road. The seats are hard, road noise inside is bad and I am very dissatisfied with its over all ride and comfort, and road noise. Mine rides just a tad above my husbands 2015 Dodge truck. I don't know what happened to the quality but I am very unhappy with my new 2016 Lexus es350. I did not test drive it and that was a big mistake. However, I did not test drive my 2011 or 2005 and I am m not sure a simple test drive would have been enough to tell me how uncomfortable this 2016 was going to be. I trusted since I was buying a high end car like the lexus it would be of a quality I had known before. I am looking for a 2012 or earlier used lexus and will sell this one. I just hate that Lexus has fallen into the cheap car routine. Why not have leather seats?? I don't want a sports car I want a car that is comfortable. Very displeased with this new car would not recommend unless a person wants an sports rcar.

This is my 6th Lexus. Previously owned GS, 3 Rx models over the years and currently have an IS 250 that my wife drives. I was in the market for a new car and seriously considered other luxury models including the new C300 Mercedes, BMW 5 series, Cadillac CTS even toyed with the idea of the Porche Macan. I thought after many years of Lexus maybe I wanted a fresh change. After viewing, researching, and pricing the different models with options and overall editor and customer reviews Lexus was still #1 in reliability and value. I had driven the 2015 ES 350 when my RX was in for service and was impressed with the comfort and handling. When the 2016 came out I truly loved the redesign with the new front end and rear end. I test drove it with the 18" wheels and was very impressed. Quick, smooth, quiet, comfortable, and a truly upscale luxury interior. Before I made my decision I decided to wait and test drive the new 2016 RX when it hit the market. For me the 2016 ES 350 just handled beautifully and I am extremely happy with my purchase. I have the luxury package which includes the new leather seat design with double stitching, 18" wheels, and the one touch power trunk. This is a wonderful luxury car and a great value.

I have a 2016 ES ultra luxury, and have had a 2008 in the past. The ES is a terrific car for real world use, it will out-handle what most will ever throw at it. It's not a car for a track..but neither really is a C class or 3 or 5 series BMW that I've owned, and they were in no way as serene nor exciting (except when the warranty runs out, or you deal with condescending service departments). The Lexus ES is as luxurious and reliable as you can find anywhere close to it's price range, has a unique 'feel' of quality and thoughtfulness that can't be checked off on a checklist when shopping, you have to own it to notice it. Is it sporty? No. There's not much luxurious about 'feeling the road' unless you're on a track or rare weekend journey, and for that, you can get a real sports car. If you want a sportier 'edge' in a sedan, the GS is very nice and still solid. When shopping for the ES, know that with it being quiet, it's very noticeable which wheels and tires you get. They come with either Michelin or Bridgestone from factory, the particular Michelin they use is rated as top 3 by tirerack.com, the Bridgstone dead last. You can tell when you drive it, and from some reviews who say it's not the car they expected, they always photo Bridgestones on larger rims...which you also may want to avoid. The 17" wheels for 2016 look great, but if you get ultra luxury, you have to swap out the 18". I know..an inch less, but test drive for yourself, the 17", and on a Michelin (Not Bridgestone) tire is what you'd like. in 2016 they also updated suspension and added more sound deadening. It's noticeable if you drive it back to back with a prior year. It's 80% of the top of the line Lexus LS, for almost half the price. It's a hard model to ignore, unless you're trying to impress people who insist that luxury must be sporty and rough edged.

The seat sits a little low for me...I am short and have low profile tires. I could use a skinny pillow to raise me up higher for better visability. Very comfortable though.

I was looking to buy a left over 2015 Lexus ES350 but the 2016 is a redesign and looks better in my eye. Dealers will discount 2015's msrp by 10% But when they did the same with the 2016 it was a no brainer. Do get the navigation package - it's worth the extra IMO. One last note - if the VIN starts with "J" like jar it's made in Japan which my mechanic sez is a good thing.

This is a very comfortable car. I came from a 2014 328i M sport. That car was great too but it was a little small for a family. Plus the reliability scared me every time I got in it. Not this Lexus though. This is a family car! I never worry about if something expensive is going to break or going into limp mode "bmw". I am 35 years old and I always thought I will look like an old man in this car. You know what this car makes you mature and look established. The led headlights are bright and show the road well. The navigation still looks like my 2008 Toyota Camry navigation though. I really wish Toyota would update their nav systems. The seats are la z boy comfortable. I am ready for a road trip. Standard stereo is more than enough. More than enough acceleration and very serine interior. I definitely would buy this over any other brand. Bmw drives nice but costs way too much. Acura is boring, Mercedes is over rated and Audi is in trouble. Buy a Lexus! Update: After owning the car for about 6 months. I decided to go back to my bmw 328i 2016. I miss the road handling characteristics of the car. The lexus was nice don't get me wrong. Two weeks after buying the lexus the presidential collision system went out on the vehicle. They kept it for a few days because they couldn't figure out what was wrong. So they finally fixed it and wanted to keep the car longer and do research on it! Um thats ok give me my car please. Got a crack in the windshield that was a nightmare because lexus needed to recalibrate the lane departure warning also. And then after five months of ownership lexus recalled the brakes saying the vehicle can become uncontrollable. OK I was done then. My first bmw I owned for a year never had a recall or any problems. But lexus is supposed to be the most reliable. So I'm back with bmw. I just couldn't get past the problems and the lack of technology of the lexus. I do miss the size and the price of filling the tank though. The paint is better quality on the Lexus also. Everyone says if you want a good ES then get a 2010-2012 model. 2013 and up is when they started to cut costs.
