With the exception of lacking a cd player, I have no complaints. It is much roomier than you would suspect from looking at the outside. Great gas mileage as well!

I love my Traxx. I drive a lot for work and this is perfect. We also have a son and it's perfect for a ride with his friends or going to ball games. Have had it for two months and love it. This is the first new vehicle I have bought in years, but the price was right for what it offered and mpg rating. I can't wait to see how it gets around in snow!

Did much research before buying this car. Loved the safety ratings and the price for a sub compact SUV. Our LT model came with leather trim, Boise speakers, lumbar support and On Star, Xm radio and really appreciate the ease of use for navigation and touch screen and remote start (even from my phone). WLMorris Chevrolet made the whole car buying experience painless.

Great little SUV.

It's a zippy little car that gets about 26 mile per gallon, it didn't come with a CD player but then maybe cars just don't have that anymore. It's a nice little car with a nice backup view/camera. Not too many bells or whistles, but drives nice, I've had it for a couple of weeks and want to own it for 8 years at least so I will see how it stands up!

Researched the car for a few months while looking at other cars. I kept going back to why I like the Trax better than the others. Fuel economy at its best with all the bells and whistles. Comfort while driving could use a little tweaking, but that was fixable with a car pillow for my back. Acceleration is a little slow, but I had no problem maneuvering in traffic. Loaded car with a small sticker price. Love My Trax

Pleasantly surprised!

After drivng and loving my Chevorlet Cruz for 5 years, I needed to upgrade to an AWD vehicle. I was not impressed that I was looking at spending $24,000 for AWD vehicles that had 40,000 miles on. Then Chevrolet came out with the 16% off and the new Trax were a great price. I test drove the Trax LT AWD and it was basically my Cruz on steroids. I LOVED it. Felt comfortable driving it right away. Low road noise, great handling and pick up on the interstate, lots of head room, just fun to drive. A couple down sides, I am not a fan of the touch screen, there is no volume knob.. only arrows so it takes longer to increase or decrease the volume, there isn't any voice command for the blue tooth phone connection, you have to search your address book on the screen which takes your eyes off the road. The back seat is smaller but if the front seats are up a little it is still comfortable to sit in. It probably wouldn't work great with 2 car seats however. The interior is a little cheaper looking but for the price it is definatley worth it. I didn't expect the smaller 4 cylinder engine to handle the bigger vehicle but it actually runs great. Very easy to get in and out of and great visabiity since you sit so much higher. It seems so much bigger when you are in it than it looks on the outside. Don't be fooled, give it a try. It is so much fun to drive, great price, great deal!

More umpf than they give it credit for

I almost did not buy this little SUV because all of the reviews said the engine is loud and it doesn't have pep for passing. I test drove a jeep renegade and a Nissan Juke, I (for my taste) didn't care for the look of the Mazda. The jeep was boxy, more cabin noise and just seem to be missing some cozy. But it drove nice. The Nissan Juke drove nice and the interior had the refined look I was looking for. However, the more expensive gas and lack of compartments to hold bits and pieces turned me away. The Trax pepped right passed the right lane on the highway. It's fully loaded, it drives nice. There is still a bit of cabin noise and it is not a luxury vehicle, but it is right up there with the LTZ trim. I love my Trax! It is fun, sporty, and the fold down seats fold down flatter than it's competition. It's not just a city car. It's a fun toy, a nice ride, and great for someone who doesn't want to throw down 30-40k on a vehicle.

A lot of car for the money! Bought my 2016 Trax LTZ "Midnight Edition" while Chevy was running a promotion offering 16% off sticker price, so I saved over $4500! First thing I want to address is the engine , which both professional reviewers and others have listed as "sluggish", "slow", "tepid" etc., you get the idea. My experience so far could not have been more different. I live in the mountains of Colorado, and a large portion of my commute to work consists of high altitude driving, including inclines with a 6% grade or higher. The engine on this vehicle handles it like a champ! I can pass other vehicles with relative ease, acceleration is more than adequate, and the engine never feels like it's struggling. My previous vehicle, a Honda Civic EX-L, which actually had slightly more HP (1.8L 140hp@6300 In-Line 4) than the Trax (1.4L 138hp@4900 In-Line 4), couldn't touch the acceleration of the Trax. The Civic always felt like it had a "piano on it's back" so to speak, regardless of whether it was driving up a hill or on level ground. The Honda also had CVT (continuous variable transmission) and was a 5-speed, where the Trax does not have CVT and has a 6-speed transmission. I do believe that the 6-speed transmission on the Trax makes a big difference in terms of gearing, while the CVT seemed to constantly struggle to find the right gear. The other thing that is somewhat amusing is that reviews have mentioned that in terms of harder acceleration on the Trax, you really need to "stand on the pedal" for maximum acceleration. This would only be a surprise to people who have not taken the time to read the manual, because on page 212 of the owners manual, it states clearly that "Going less than 35mph, push the accelerator pedal halfway down", if going 35mph hour or more, push the accelerator all the way down". Ok, enough about that, let's move on to the rest of the vehicle. The LTZ came with pretty much every available option. If you listen to a lot of music on your drive, you will appreciate the Bose speakers, which are great. Dash layout is fine, though the digital dash does come off as a little low tech. But it does the job. There is plenty of storage, and there is a USB port and 3.5mm jack in the glove box, which seems like a bit of an afterthought, due to the fact that there is no gap or spacing to run a cord out of without leaving the glove box open. This is a design mistake. I know the train of thought is to just leave the device (cell phone, mp3 etc) in the glove box while plugged in, however, on a hot summer day the glove box will get incredibly hot, and your iPhone or whatever else you may have attached to the USB port will overheat or malfunction, which is not a good thing. Seats are great, they feel firm and offer good support, and there are multiple adjustments available, including lumbar support. I'm 6'2" tall, and there is plenty of headroom left in the cabin. There have been some complaints about "too much plastic" used on the interior, but I found the interior to overall be clean and modern looking. If you want a suede or leather dash, buy a Mercedes or a BMW. Seat height gives you a great view of the road, especially appreciated if you're coming from a sedan that sits low to the ground. The backseat is fine, with enough room to seat two adults comfortably, or three children. There is a fold down cupholder in the center of the rear seat, a nice touch. Rear seats fold down to open up more trunk space. The rear hatch offers a decent amount of space, enough if you need to haul boxes or larger items. The Trax came with Continental Contipro Contact tires, a very good all-season tire, though I will probably buy some Michelin X-Ice Xi3 tires for the winter, due to the fact that we have loooong winters up here with tons of snow and any other type of winter weather you can think of. I'm currently averaging 25mpg on the highway, though I expect that to increase as the engine gets broken in. This is the first vehicle I bought that came with remote start, which I'm really looking forward to using this winter! All in all, I think I got quite a bit of vehicle for a fair price. I actually look forward to driving it everyday, which is probably the best compliment you can give to a vehicle. Two thumbs way up!!

This little SUV is GREAT! I drove a Toyota Sequoia for several years before this but the gas mileage (14-19mpg) was beginning to be a beating with how much city driving I do. I'm an active women in my late 20's and I wanted something that got great gas Milage and could keep up with my life style with out having to fill the tank every 3 or 4 days. After months of car shopping and research it came down to The Trax or the Jeep Renegade. So I test drove an LT and LTZ. Got to test drive it (in the rain) and was very impressed with the handling!! The Other thing I liked better than the Renegade was the Trax is a smoother and more quiet ride. The Trax wasVERY quiet, my Sequoia was noisy and I had thought the Renegade was quiet until I rode in the Trax. My husband rode in the back during the jeep and trax test drive and said it felt like the jeep was "rocking" on low-grade turns or I wasn't holding it straight even though I was driving normally. Also, the interior feels very open (especially with the sun roof) which I like and it has fewer blind spots than the Sequoia or Renegade. It also can comfortably fit 5 people (I know, I was shocked too), but 4 is ideal with the cup holder center in the back! With the plug in the back (regular plug, not car charger) my friends can charge their phones with out having to hand them to me in the front! The handling is also awesome on tight turns and wet roads. I bought the maxed out option LT because I liked the cloth and leather trim seates better (easier to get dirt out, but no heater seats) and the sun and sound package was exactly what I was looking for!!! I wanted a bright color car (no black, white, or silver) so I got the metallic rock orange and it looks great! The color is bright but not too intense like a yellow or those bright green cars. I've had it for a few months now and the Bose system has awesome sound and makes a huge difference in the sound quality of my music. The sun roof and luggage rack are an added bonus. As far as storage, I thought I would miss the center console but I don't at all!! Plenty of cup holders and the drawer under the passangers seat is by far my favorite thing!! The cover for the cargo area is great at well you can leave anything in the trunk section and no one can see it! All the seats including front passenger fold down so you can fit a paddle board in it! Bikes, Golf clubs, and rifles fit easily as well. The rear park assist and back up camera make it so much easier to back in to parking spots (we are required to at work), as well as parallel park. I love the fact that it has a regular plug in the back seat for my laptop and other electronics that aren't really comparable with the USB or car charging. On the passenger side above the glovebox it had a little compartment you can plug your phone in to USB or AC cord to play music and shut the phone in there and control it from the steering wheel or touch screen. The slits on the either side of the radio are Great for hold your phone as well!! They are both rubber lined so it doesn't slide around. Sunglasses holder can hold 2 or 3 paid easily. The remote start has been amazing for these hot Texas summers!! The My Link interface isn't my favorite but I like it a lot better than Toyotas, the option to not set a "main phone" is annoying when my husbands or friends phones connects via Bluetooth before mine. I also wish it had Car Play but that's a minor loss and personal preference. My only regret it that I opted out of the 18" wheels, would have been nice to be up just alittle higher and have alittle more clearance on trails or curb hopping to park. I didn't get the AWD because the gas Milage went down with that option, I miss not having it but it's not that big of a deal. Overall, I would say it's a great little SUV if your looking for something fuel efficient but want an SUV with a decent amount of cargo space this is definitely a great option!!

Well my experience started off great from the very beginning. I purchased my vehicle from Mills Chevrolet in Davenport Iowa, the sales representative that helped me was absolutely amazing and did everything in her power to get me exactly what I needed so I would like to thank Valarie Lawton, and everyone else at mills first of all. When it comes to the car itself I love the features it comes with as far as OnStar, and Chevy MyLink stereo system, along with the touch screen head unit that came with it. Being a grandma with grandkids the amount of room in the vehicle is more then enough! The hatchback is also very convenient. I haven't had to use the 4WD yet but the fact that this vehicle has that feature is very comforting. Overall this is hands down the best vehicle I have owned could not be more happy with my purchase! Ok let me start I am 50 feel 30 till I look in mirror, ha ha. 5'11 210 pounds. I fit real nice in the trax lots and lots of leg room. The dash really turned me off and I know the 2017 is improved but my lease was up on my Toyota Rav and I had no choice. At first I wanted the encore but the lease on trax was better and I did not like the sticking up on the dash for the radio on the encore. But both are really the same well they have the same engine etc. The first day I drove it was a little sluggish coming out of rav I thought. At 400 miles maybe just me I noticed a little increase in pep (I think). Now after driving a month I find the pep just fine. I have done merging on highway, accelerated up hills and its fine. Its pretty quiet too. I actually like the sound of the engine now. I like the smooth shifting too. Its not a pocket rocket but when you need it it is there. Gas mileage was important to me and that I am thrilled with. Combined driving first tank I averaged 27.8 second 28 this last tank was 29.5 thats pretty good I feel with an AWD model. I do watch not heavy acceleration and drive gas mileage mindfully but in no means like a turtle. So far no problems, I know its early, fingers crossed. The interior a little bare like no hot cold engine temp gauge etc, but it actually grows on you easy simple. Radio is being redesigned for 2017 too but its ok and easy and back up camera very nice. The sound is very good for my tastes. Love having xm radio will not buy a car without having that available. Vision for driving is very good in my opinion and the a/c works good cools quick, etc. Remote start is great. I do not look forward to the winter but I hope the awd does well. I was getting about 25 to 26 in my rav this is smaller so I expected it to be a little better which it is. Ride is a little chop;py sometimes due to the short wheel base but all in all very good. On a couple stops where there is maybe a rough road or pothole you might feel the anti lock lkick in or a little funny feel on break pedal thats the only thing negative I noticed. Ok so bottom line if you want a decent fuel efficient little suv with not the most upscale interior but a roomy one that you get use too its a great little guy. 28 or more miles per gallon in good weather nice sounding stereo with xm remote start not a dragster but good enough and pep when you kick in the turo with harder acceleration easy to drive available AWD roomy front interior its a good choice Good crash test reviews I hope it is dependable and reliable and gm has some good little suv's finally!!

This is great everyday vehicle for mixed city and highway conditions. The SUV is small and handles like a sedan which makes it fun and easy to drive. Steering is spot on and visibility out the front is great. I am 5'2" and can adjust the seat for a near perfect view of the hood so I get visual ques as to where I am on the road. The mirrors and large compared to the size of the Trax but give a great view. The only weird things I find are the manual mode (instead of 2nd and Low gears) which give the driver full control and a clutch-less manual shifting if desired. Manual mode seems to be a trend among auto manufacturers in newer vehicles. Another oddity is there is no way to manually lock or take it out of AWD. This is all handled by the vehicle itself. I am impressed by the automatic headlights, I never thought I would trust that technology but so far they work well.

After a couple of months - I am very impressed with this vehicle. It's never going to be a sports car but it wasn't designed to be. Runs well - good ride - great gas mileage (averaged over 33 mpg on a trip last week). Comfortable to drive. Acceleration is adequate and highway ride is great. Car has no problems cruising 70+ mph on the highway with enough power to pass when needed. Would definitely recommend.

Great small SUV geared toward the tech savvy consumers. I've had this vehicle for almost 1 month and was hoping the gas mileage was better than 25.4 miles per gallon. If this SUV had a CD player, I would have given 5 stars. I would like to have to have the option of using my phone or CD for entertainment.
