I had owned a Mercury Montego (just like the Ford 500) which by far was the most comfortable sedan I have every owned. But it came with electrical issues and transmission problems. So I checked all good size sedans out there and the Impala was the best subtitute Icould find. Nice quiet, comfortable ride, with a great instrument panel. The 4-cylinder was more than adequate. Not as easy getting in and out of but OK. One major complaint is rear visibilty. One minor complaint, owners manuel comes with no nice case and even without it does not fit in any front seat compartments (including the glove box). All in all a great car.

We have had to have the Bluetooth fixed aand the side detection right side mirror fixed in the 3 weeks we have had the car. The navigation panel was blank for 3 times one day.

Love my Impala but nervous about it's reliability!

Bought my 2016 Chevy Impala in June. I fell in love with its bold and sporty looks. I like big cars and the Impala is nice an roomy. Great V6 Engine with solid performance and I get great gas mileage. I had a Chevy Malibu LT prior and I wish the Impala LT had ambient lighting in the dashboard like my Malibu did. Overall I love my car but... After just under 4 months my left brake/ turn signal light went out. Never had that happen in a brand new car. Periodically my park brake light comes on when I get in a start my car. I know that I didn't hit the button. My radio has turned off by itself, never froze or anything just shut off. Twice my interior lights didn't come on when I hit my keyfob to unlock my doors and even after I opened the door to get in the car. My sunshade stops on its own when I hit the button to close it. As much as I love my new car all these little bugs makes me nervous that I will have long term or other major issues down the road.

This is my 3rd Impala since 2004. I traded the 04 just a few yrs. ago for a pre-owned 2013. (All I had done to besides regular service , was brakes, and tires once, traded it with150,000 miles). Then bought a pre-owned 2013 LTZ. ( Besides regular service and a set of tires ) traded it with 65,000 miles on it for a 2016 model. I have had this one for a week and love it! Averaging 24 mpg in city! ( with a V6 ) Looks and drives great, with plenty of room (I am 6'2" ). Looking forward to my road trip next month. I have either been 3X lucky or these are just great cars.

This is one of the least comfortable cars that I have ever driven. There are multiple ergonomic problems. First, the headrests ridiculously far forward. They push your head and neck forward putting strain on your neck. Half an hour behind the wheel and you will have a headache for the rest of the day. Next, the center console is too tall and too far forward and is not adjustable. With your hands on the steering wheel and 9 and 3, it is impossible to turn right without going through a series of elbow contortions. This is unsafe. If an emergency right turn were necessary it might not be possible. Third, the view in the rear view mirror is restricted to a small sliver. The rear parcel shelf is so high that it is barely possible to see the roof of the car following. The interior materials are cheap, but this is a rental car, so that is to be expected. However, a $30,000 car should at least have a leather wrapped steering wheel, not one made of foam rubber.

Came out of a Chrysler 300 with constant trans problems, Only owned the Impala LTZ for two months now but so far is a great car, I got it fully loaded for a fantastic price, I had always owned Mopars but bought a Camaro last year for Christmas so when the trans went on my 2014 Chrysler 300 this was a logical choice, Just wish they had brought back the name of ( Caprice) instead of continuing to call it an Impala, lots of bad vibes attributed to that name. Time will tell how it handles on the rain and snow, I have read there are some problems there with traction. Also had some problems with service dept. at my dealer, not very professional, but that is an easy fix just changed where I will get it serviced. All in all I am very satisfied with the power and luxury of this auto, will write more if that changes....

Good basic sedan. I liked the creature comforts with extra power the 6 cyl gives. All paperwork gives much lower mileage than what I experience in real life.

I got all options and it almost requires a co-pilot to learn and operate all functions. Technology is off the charts. Plug in a USB drive loaded with music and the sound is amazing. Say "play Sounds of Silence"... the song plays. Say " play Leon Bedbone" .... all Redbone songs que-up and begin playing. Say call Joe... car asks "cell or home?" Then dials your choice from your cell phone, no monthly charge. The 8 inch navigation also works without subscription. Set cruise control, car slows as you approach car in front of you and resumes as he speeds up, keeping you at a chosen distance without touching controls. Car in front slams on breaks.... Impala breaks automatically. Warning lights on side view mirror if someone in the blind spot. Lane departure warning. The list goes on and on. The only negative I found is: 1.) no aux input for radio anymore but I guess everything is Bluetooth now. 2.) No SD card slot. but for $10 you can but a USB drive with a SD card slot and there are at least 2 USB ports. I would also say the ride noise level is a touch higher than say a Lexus or Mercedes but with the radio on and an extra $10,000 in my pocket to absorb sound, I don't hear a thing. The fuel economy is better than EPA rating and the 305 HP v-6 gets to 60 mph in about 6 seconds!!!

When my car unexpectedly died last month, I was thrown into the car market. I typically take a long time to decide, but this time, I needed a car. Immediately, I found the best car for the best price. The Impala has the highest Consumer Reports rating for a non-luxury sedan. It beats all Camrys and Accords, everybody. Then, in the month of June, GM offered 20% cash back on Impalas. 20%!!! The Impala I bought is loaded: V6 engine, Navigation, Leather Seats, Sunroof, Adaptive Cruise Control, 20" Wheels. Sticker was $41,720. After all the discounts, I paid $30.750 !!! Thank you GM!

I have owned 2007 Impala LTZ and before that 2000 Impala. I love the car so I keep getting a newer version. I am a Chevy guy and think its as good as it gets with the Impala LTZ.

I've read reviews here and it seems all the whiners bought the LS which I never go near a base model of any brand, they are all built to do the bare minimum . I spent the money on the LTZ and couldn't be happier, the V6 has 305 hp which just moves when needed, and the fit and finish is amazing compared to the 2007 impala I traded in. I bought the interior with the black leather and beautiful brown stitching. The rear view camera, lane departure, blind spot warning, and collision alert are all fantastic. I highly recommend this car if you are willing to spend the money.

My first car 51 years ago was a Chevy, Haven't bought one since until I test drove the new Impala LTZ. Very nice, I came out of a CTS which I liked a lot , I like this at lest as much for $20,000 less.

Got this as a rental thinking I was getting a good car. First thing is I hit my head getting in (I am only 5,8) visibility is poor being blocked by the rear view mirror on the front, head rest on the side and a very narrow rear window. It lacks power, the engine sounds like it is constantly struggling under the slightest attempt to accelerate, the transmission is constantly downshifting and up-shifting. It feels like it gets stuck between gears before finally completing the shift. I only drive in manual now. Throttle response is slow. Minor things: the center console cover is difficult to open, the drink holders are too small, back up camera picture is fuzzy, the electronic manual shifter is located on top of the gear shift so if you happen to rest your hand on it the car will inadvertently change gears. Positives: the seat is comfortable and I like the way it handles on back roads. I would not buy this car.

Dont drive this car in the snow!

Impala is so bad in snowy weather. Will need winter tires ( added expense ) if you live in the Midwest. Car slips all over the roads. GM shouldn't put high performance tires on this car. BEWARE All impala's leave dealer with low profile tires!! Winter tires help but not by much. Front tires are too far forward on such a large car. Makes it harder for the car to pull its weight around. Very fast car though. Looks terrific. Fuel Pump failed twice. Left me stranded twice. Paint has chipped away at the front end leaving an unsightly black mark the size of my fist. GM Dealership didn't want to pay for paint repair under warranty. BEWARE Car has VERY cheap paint. Way too many cost cutting measures by GM. GM hasn't changed a bit over the years! Next time I'm getting a Honda Accord.

I did a ton of research online before making my decision. I considered every large sedan below $40,000 and found that the LTZ was the best car that I could buy. When I finally saw it in person it confirmed my choice. The car is filled with all of the latest technology if properly equipped and has more than enough room for 5 people with a huge trunk. Power is more than adequate though the transmission is a little busy hunting for the right gear. It just takes some getting used to as its trying to maximize fuel economy. The RemoteLink app is a brilliant piece of work. The ability to safely start your car then send it your next destination saves time and is just downright cool. Search for an in-stock top-of-the-line model to find the best value for the money. Looks like the other reviewers may have had a bad sales experience but no such complaints here

Shop around other makes. Didn't come equip, with auto start, rear view camera, and safety warning systems that other cars are coming out with. So shop for better safety features, that are available on other brands. General Motors, has become very tight on giving customers a complete package. You have purchase all the items at extra cost to you. So make sure you take the time to look carefully at what your buying. This car doesn't keep it's value. It drops almost five thousand dollars when you leave the dealership. I just checked it out on the car dealers site, and I'm very disappointed with this purchase I made, I feel stupid. Be careful not to be rushed by the car salesman,if they do it to you. Then say thank you for your time and leave. Never go too late at night, because you will be rushed. GOOD luck.

The plastic wood grain finish is cheesy, many cheap electronics in this car just to jack up the price. The engine and transmission are decent and the best thing about this car. The car is noisy at higher speeds. Did I mention the cheap electronics to jack up the price, ridiculous! A smart phone or a Garmin is a better option for navigation. Cheap electronics don't make the car safer GM. It's the person driving the car! The car has an excellent look from the outside. Very eye catching.
