I had been interested in the idea of a Prius for over a decade now, and finally decided to pull the trigger when deciding to sell my 2011 WRX last year. I've owned the car for 13 months now and I love it. Acceleration is slower than WRX, but more than enough power to out-accelerate every other car on the road. Fuel economy is 52 MPG if I'm driving normally, 54 MPG if I attempt to hyper mile. Front seats needed more lumbar support (completely personal opinion - everyone's different on this one) so I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to pick up a $9 "Kiss My Back" mesh lumbar cushion. Rear seat offer lots of room. Interior is well thought out, controls make sense. Bluetooth audio/phone is flawless, and I can actually hold a conversation using Bluetooth phone now (WRX was way too loud). I can easily get about 550 miles per tank, and that's when I fuel up with about another gallon left. This has been a great car. Many people have false preconceptions about the Prius while others have an irrational hatred. If you're a logical, frugal, and practical person, the choice is pretty clearcut.

This is my second Prius. I traded in my 2010 Prius with 130,000+ miles, which I never had a single issue with buy the way. I was expecting to keep my 2010 until it hit the 200,000 miles, but I got such a great deal on my new 2015 I couldn't resist (out the door price, 16,399 with rebate and trade-in).

Prices keep going up each year. Acceleration and ride comfort are really noisy. But I guess that is the price u pay for mpg.

I did some research before purchasing this 2015 Prius II, and after driving it for a while here's a few thoughts: == Pro == It saves me on gas. In the city driving you can easily get 40+ MPG if you don't use it for racing. My previous Altima 2013 sedan can get about 20+ or even lower in heavy traffic, so thumb up on Prius. On the highway I can only get around 40 at cruising speed of 75 mph, that still beats Altima of 38 MPG, but not by a greater margin. Now I pay about 30 dollars each month for two tanks of gas, which is even cheaper than the car insurance. The car is pretty quiet running at low or mid speed, thanks to its battery technology. On pure battery mode you can barely hear the noise under the hood, just a little electric hissing sound. The space of the trunk is acceptable. Moreover if you fold down the rear seats you can probably fit in a bicycle (thought I haven't tried that). == cons == The handling of the vehicle at high speed is below average. On the highway, at high wind you can feel it blowing your vehicle sideways, so hold on tight to the steering wheel. The wind noise is there, and engine noise are very noticeable given its tiny 1.8 L engine. Try to pass a slow car in front of you? Switch to power mode so you can get more acceleration. The suspension is stiff - on the highway you can feel the bumpy pavement from your hip. The pillow material is awkwardly hard, so I cannot rest my head on it while driving on highway - it's giving me vibration from the bumpy road! So it's an underpowered car not designed for a road trip. == Other thoughts == I owned the vehicle for less than three months so can't say much about its reliability, thought I heard it's good. Toyota gives you free first three years service, and the vehicle doesn't need oil change of braking pad replacement very often, due to its hybrid design. So the cost of actual owning it should (partially) compensate the extra dollar you pay for a hybrid. It is a decent choice for daily commuter, but not a car fun to drive on the highway.

I buy this 2015 Toyota hybrid vehicle for driving on local to access to work and home. It is save the gas but not much as I expect(sticker said 50 for local but actural milerage is 30) but saved it more than my former 2008 accord 4 cylinder. Only one thing is not i don't like that the space under the gear shift ... Place and pick up from the space..(2016 is ok). Driver seat is little bit tight , it can be said i am big for the seat( i am 6.1 height, 200 lbs). Anyway i am save the gas now, all the funtion will be used to me later. I got a good deal to buy this car for clearence deal. Mostly i like it

I love my car 2011 Prius 4 door hatchback hybrid gas/electric. I purchase my prius July 2013 pree owned, the mile was 5.000 only, when I am purchase, now the mile only 15.225 in Jan 2016. It's save my gas money, the speed run was ok, interior in and out, comfortable seat, audio, navigation very useful, all is great for me. If other thing I am forget to ad here in my review, I will say no complaint so far I own this my prius. If I ever planning to purchase newer car, I will look around to searching brand newer for the model Toyota Prius because I fall in love with Toyota Prius and it save my pocket for the gas. Thumb up for JAPAN to created Toyota Prius.

Pros: The ride feels serine even at high speeds and handles well with plenty of exceleration. Careful driving nets me mid to upper 40s gas mileage on average with low 50's in stop and go traffic. Careless over driving still gets me close to 40mpg. Cons: Back up visibility is low and the camera used to compensate lack grid lines to accurately gage distance. The stock speakers are utterly lacking in base giving music a thin and flat feel. The trunk has limited space. Folding down the seats helps but items slide around to easily, and the privacy shade doesn't cover the expanded area leaving your trunk items visible to tempt would be smash and grabbers passing by.

Good but not greatest!

Bought my wife a Prius. Loved it. Headlight burned out. $400. Second headlight burned out, $400 Third headlight burned out, another $400. Traded it in for a new one three years later. Asked salesman and Hoover Birmingham, Alabama dealership manager had they solved the Prius headlight problem...YES! Warrenty just expired...guess what?..Headlight burned out..$400 So I drive 30,000 miles at 50 MPG at $2.00 per equals 600 gallons. Cost $1200. Total gas savings for 30,000 miles ZERO. Spent $1200 on headlights. Prius not worth the gas savings if repair costs are more than gas savings

I am back. Guess what. Another headlight out this month. 4/16 do not buy a Prius unless you get a dealer 5 year warrenty on headlights. Un-real

I have to say I'm a Chevy all power girl were mpg ment nothing to me (98 Suburban 7.6, 05 Suburban 350, 85 Corvette). I bought this little guy because I am a rideshare driver were mpg has a huge role. My mind was blown away with the 48-55+mpg I get, always on ECO/EV mode. Rear seats are very room and lots of leg room for my paxs, cargo area is huge, extremely easy to get in/out. Acceleration is fantastic, breaking will put u on the windshield (very powerful), steering is beyond smooth, sound system is okay. My 250lbs teen, and 3 kids fit no problem. Now I use it every chance I have for my personal rides. The cons are driver seat after 6+hrs driving becomes very uncomfortable because it doesn't have lumbar support. Sun exposure is insane (u have 2 tint the windows for sure), AC is not as powerful as my Suburban. Other then that is beyond a great car I can't believe I'm saying this...

I can go anywhere any time I want and not have to worry about gas prices as much as my old autos..I love it! I had no problems on dirt roads and I had no problem going up some hills. I was worried about the acceleration, but I had no problems so far. I bought mine in Russellville Arkansas and I walked away a winner am very pleased and I know I made a great buy.

Got price match from Burnsville Toyota, MN for $20625 + tax. After lot of hestitation gave it a shot for Prius based on the consumer reviews. After first fill up, 53 MPG based on the electronic gauge. Tried ECO mode. Noticed the mpg is better with ECO mode ON however car struggles to climb uphill. Merging into traffic is difficult. But in the normal mode, no difficulties with uphill or merging into traffic. Ride is smooth. Road noise is significant when the speed is greater than 65 mph. You will get used to it in 1 day. Nice car for city driving. Initially debating between Corolla and Prius. Based on Fuelly reviews, for city driving Corolla is not that great (<30 mpg). Decided to try Prius.

Many people told me I would regret buying a Prius, and they are all wrong. I have gotten some really amazing mileage on my 2015 Toyota Prius Persona. Toyota makes excellent vehicles. My brother bought a Scion, and his is great also; of course it's made by Toyota too. The only drawback is the dash is hard to clean because it is rough finished, everything else works flawlessly. Gatorland Toyota of Gainesville, Florida sold me this car at a great price too! People told me it would have no pep at all, boy they are wrong. You should go take one for a spin before you put it down. So many features, so great a price.
