This is our 2nd C-Class. In almost every way, it totally delivers what you expect for an entry level Mercedes. Great drive, great look, reliable. I mean it's a Mercedes - it's awesome. To the consumer, I say that you should consider this vehicle. The remainder of this critique is directed at Mercedes. Yes - MB remains masters of their craft and because I want them to continue to be - it pains me to say that they really blew it on the logic of the controls. First off, removing the leather transmission shifter with the Mercedes logo from the center console in favor of some cheap plastic stick by the steering wheel smells of a shameless cost cutting measure. Look - it's a Mercedes - throw that thing into Sport mode late night on a Freeway in L.A. - trust me - you want something to hold on to. Second, in place, there's this stupid little touch pad (kind of like mousepad on a laptop) with which you are supposed to dial phone numbers when using the Bluetooth. How am I supposed to hold onto something that's flat? Moreover, the problem is that when you try dialing the numbers, it never gets the number right and there's a delay while the system tries to figure out what number your dialing. The old C-Class we had simply had a key pad whereby the digits were physical keys I could feel with my fingers. Thus, I could safely dial without having to take my eyes off the road. Third, if you want to stream media throw your phone, you have to proceed through at least three steps - two of which are not intuitive. Our Volkswagen only has one step and it's so straight forward that even I could figure it out. Finally, I have yet to figure out how to switch around my media (i.e. change radio stations, or switch to streaming, dial numbers) while keeping the Navi map on screen. Granted, Navi is now a useless feature given the quality of programs like Waze. However, I like looking at a dynamic map as I drive. Make no mistake - this has not dissuaded me from remaining a loyal customer. But the first thing I'm going to do when it comes time to replace this one is check to see if you put in a real transmission shift and got rid of this stupid touch screen. Please MB - shine in the way you can.

Pro: As you expect from a Mercedes, they have designed a performance and yet comfortable luxury which positioned the car on par or slightly above the competition. Cons: The car has a default setting for a "Comfort" mode and this cannot be changed. Unfortunately, this means that we have to live with the "Auto Engine Off" function which for some people can be very annoying. If you want to change that "feature" you will need to switch the @ button every time you restart the engine.

I absolutely love this car. Buyers be aware!! If you get the C300 4matic be advised that from the dealer the tow of the vehicle prematurley weares both front tires. I was told I need new front tires at around 13,000 miles and my rear were in great shape. MB cutomer service was useless as so was Keyes European. I met a MB technician at a gas station who told me this info, that he has reported the issue to his superiors which I am hoping they have notified MBZ USA but so far the agents at HQ do not know of this issue. My suggestion to all current owners of any new MBZ car who has 4matic and tires prematurely wore is to complain to your dealership and to MBZ HQ USA.

I leased a 2015 C Class when the lease was up on my 2013 and now I regret not buying the 2013. I like the interior on the 2015 much better and the styling is okay, but I absolutely hate the turbo 4. I have tried all modes and this engine has a great deal of turbo lag. Dealer says "that's just the way it is". I have to floor the car sometimes when merging on the highway and constantly use the paddle shifts because the engine does not seem to shift at the right time (in my opinion). The engine clouds my whole opinion of the car...Hoping I can get out of the lease early.

In short: - purchased fall 2014 as 2015 model - C400 with some upgrades (Burmeister, LED, but no advanced assistance) - one recall (steering) - one issue with radio (reboots every 2-3 hours) - one door handle light died - one rear bumper replaced due to discoloration - two services - 10K miles and 20K miles. 10K miles a bit expensive but within limits ($270). 20K miles service outrageously expensive ($680) - front tires are pretty much gone after 20K miles, rear tires look like new. - mean dealer - implying I painted bumper myself and this is why it changed color. Worst experience of my life Overall - the car is surprisingly reliable, but my Mercedes dealer sucks. Will have to drive to Orlando for future service.

Beautiful car with a great interior design with superior materials. Performance on the road is first rate. Like all Mercedes, the command and navigation systems remains second class. If you get a C-Class do not get the sport package or AMG package unless you like buying tires and having regular alignment appointments. Six tires in my first year, and now the car is in the shop having the engine replaced. Resale value is deplorable.

I have a 2015 MB C300 4matic, i love the car. The dealer just replaced both side front half axle shafts and the dealer told me I need 2 new front tires, im only at 14,200 miles! MY rear tires are in amazing condition. So I have spoken with 3 mechanics who have said #1 continental tires lately are not lasting as it should nd #2 most likely the defective front aaxle half shafts contributed to both my front tires prematurely wearing. And I only drive highway and never get more than 25mpg! Sticker states 34mpg on the highway so why am I getting 10mpg less, i only use 91 fuel..

I've had my 2015 for a full year. This car is loaded, only a couple of options not purchased. I've really put this car through its long distance paces. Mountain driving, desert driving. Trips as long as 15 hours in a single day. The car is stunning inside and out. Seats are very comfortable. Never got a sore back, even on those super long trips. Handling is excellent, as is the fuel mileage. The haptic touch pad is a pain in the you know where. I just ignore it. Big problems with repairs, including a rear master seal leak on the transmission, a defective home link system (mirror assembly replaced), a plastic part breaking inside the front passenger door causing the door handle to come off, and several other problems. Fortunately all warranty. Consumer Reports rightly gives it a solid black circle, its lowest reliability rating. Has some crazy quirks with navigation software. For example, if I want turn by turn directions, the nav screen does not show the upcoming turn, but the second and third turns. That makes it confusing and useless. MB corporate knows about this and they agree that is how it functions. I've been waiting for a map update to fix this and other nav problems. Still waiting. July 2016 UPDATE: I have the base car, not the 4matic. OEM Pirelli run flats. Just over 18,000 miles on the car. Front tires have 70% tread left. The rear tires, for this rear wheel drive car, have have only about 8,000 miles left. I will have to replace the rear tires after about 25,000 miles. Cost out the door at Costco will be over $500 for the two tires. The tires are regularly rotated and properly inflated. The tires are wearing evenly. There is no misalignment issues.

This is my first Mercedes. Where do I start with this dangerous and poorly designed car? 1. By putting the gear shifts from the center console (in most cars) to the wand, that used to be the windshield wipers, I have actually shifted the car accidentally into Neutral when it started to rain(thinking it was the wipers) while driving on the highway! Luckily it wasn't Reverse!!! 2. In the summer, when I've gotten into the hot car, I have actually gotten BURN MARKS on my right arm, while placing it on the center console as I was about to select a radio station. The stupidly trimmed the console with real metal ...it felt like I had put my arm on a hot frypan! 3. The dashboard controls for defroster, A/C, temperature control etc. feel the same and are all exactly in a line...no definitions or separations. So when you're driving at night and you need the defroster, you can't feel which one it is...and even when you find it, you still have to take your eyes off the road a second time to look up at the screen in front of you to make sure you have selected the right control. 4. The driver's seat is not only uncomfortable, but I have been in physical therapy since last July ( a few months after I leased the car) because it has caused me nerve pain in my neck and right leg. I have to lift my right leg over the threshold to get into the car and then fall into the seat and adjust myself. I realized that after the first few months the constant lifting and adjusting have caused the nerve pain. 5. The power seat adjustment ( not the memory adjustment) that you generally find (in most other cars)when you slip your left hand down onto the side of your seat to move forward and backward...had been moved to the door. Wow! What a great idea... I thought it was so clever...but this ergonomic design is dangerous! If you want to make a slight adjustment up or back,when you're wearing a thick coat or just want to move back a little, you must remember to do it while the door is closed. If you need it once the door has been opened, you must REACH OUT BY HOLDING ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL with your right hand and moving the seat positions with your outreached left hand. I had the door swing back on my left ankle because I had already put my left foot out of the car...I got a contusion under my skin for months from the door slamming onto my ankle! 6. AHHH! Now we come to the gorgeous center console...the entertainment center (I thought it was beautiful when I was looking at the car in the dealer's showroom). They designed two choices for you. One is a turning dial and the other is a "swipe" selector. Well, that "swipe" method changes my selection whenever my handbag slides over it as I am putting my bag down on the passenger seat. Frustrating and annoying! 7. The most concerning is when I was inches away from crashing threw the glass window of my pharmacy...I had a surge that drove my car onto the sidewalk! That happened in June two months after I got the car. It happened again in January, as it surged and nearly went up on the sidewalk at the school I volunteer at...both times I managed to apply the brake to stop it. I spoke to the dealership twice...once after my arm got burned last summer and a month ago about all these issues...I was told to call the manager. I want to end my lease, but car salesman felt I had too much time left on my lease. Has anyone else had any of these issues with this car??? UPDATE: September 23, 2016. I was told by my salesman that the Mercedes-Benz manager would call me shortly after I wrote the original review, but in all of these months I've never gotten any contact at all. I guess I've given up calling or talking to them, since I don't think I can prove that I have been in physical therapy since July 2015 because of the seat design and also having to lift my right leg over the threshold ( causing me to literally fall into the driver's seat). That repetitive motion, over the first few months, caused nerve pain from my lower back down to my right knee. All the other issues I listed are the same...I still have problems with all of them and I'm actually afraid of this car ! I am hoping to get rid it when my lease is closer to 20 months old. I am thinking of several other car brands: maybe BMW or Acura.

My car was rear ended. Parts had to come from Germany. 2 months and one more to repair the car. Ordered every option. 19 of them. The ventilated leather seats are horrible. The leather is worse than an Honda Accord. The distronic plus works only on occasion. Radio stop working and 5 months later finally getting another one. Mileage at 55 MPH an amazing 44 Miles per gallon. I've had 3 recalls , 3 pressure gauges replaced. Run flat tires are horrible. In talks with MBUSA on lemon law. I traded a 2009 C with every option and 95,000 miles for this one. Worse mistake ever.. Update. I have had to hire a law firm. The car has been in service now 48 days. It's going in again for electronics problems. I'm fighting MB on the Lemon Law. They offered 2500 off of any new car I wanted of theirs and that's it. The lemon law is 30 days and they have to return the full amount. I will never own another MB product as long as I live. I hate their product.

It is in fact an absolute joke. Don't buy it or lease it because the driver's seat is so badly designed that you are going to end up in the hospital. The front interior of the car is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. There's nowhere to put the cell phone. You've got to be a rocket scientist to put the a/c on and off. The car also stalls and you can't start it again. Also the power steering randomly freezes with no warning and you are stuck until it decides to work again. Almost at 15,000 miles and have owned the C400 for a year. From the beginning, I was hearing a strange small noise when changing into drive, reverse, and park but chalked it up as how it was built. Well 14,000 miles later, turns out my entire transmission and torque converter went out and never had proper bolts. Had it towed into the dealership and they ordered the parts from Germany. My SA told me the transmission was around $15,000.. hearing that I'll probably buy the extended warranty come 50k. Wasn't that mad, happy it was caught while under warranty. I was put into a 2016 C300 loaner for two weeks. What a POS that was. I've had C300 loaners several times over the last 8 years but after having a loaded bi-turbo C400, I would never consider owning anything less. So if you are deciding between C300 or C400/C450, I highly recommend paying the extra. Ever since a new transmission, car seems smoother than ever and would recommend to buy. Of course the navigation is STILL JUNK as Mercedes has been forever so I don't know what to tell you there besides everyone uses their smart phone anyway. I just paid for the navigation and multi media package for the larger screen w/ backup camera. But where the hell is Apple CarPlay? I see a YouTube video of a Benz sales man driving a 2015 C400 showing off Apple CarPlay yet it is not available still. Overall, good car so far despite a break down and tow. Good luck

I stepped down from two ML 350's I miss all of the space that I had and the room in the rear seats. Three people in the rear is very craped, but it is a much smaller car. Performance is great. Great acceleration and handling. Gas mileage is a real treat aft3r my ML 350. Getting in and out is more difficult but I can deal with that. I got the LED headlights becauser the standard headlights were very poor. Quality is like a MB should be. Truck quality is inferior. Back up mirror is way below my ML. but it works. Waning systems is inferior but lane changing warnings are excellent. I do not like the run flat tires but that is the way it comes. I have a three year lease and am already thinking that I will go bigger next time for more room for passengers. No problem with butttons or cotrols. Bluetooth was a problem for a while but I think that problem is solve.

Had the car coming up on 1 year. I have 6400 miles. The 1st week I owned the car driving 80mph down the expressway the power steering went out. The car had to be towed to the MB Dealer. A month later the sunroof would not close (it started to rain) again back to the dealer. 5 months in the sunroof broke again. This time I told the dealer last straw fix this thing or take the car back. Tomorrow I take it in again for a knocking sound when you turn. Also the sunroof is now once again broke. Previous I had a E-350 and had no problems. This 2015 C-300 has been a huge disappointment. For the money MB commands this is just unacceptable.

Overall great car. Technology in terms of the Nav system and Key fobs not being sync'd to driver 1 or 2 buttons is a bit odd. Also a bit strange that for over $50k you don't get audible rear sensors for backing up. Car handles great though with great acceleration for the turbo 4. So plenty of power and compares well against most competitors in it's depending on your personal driving preference. Personally this car strikes a great balance between sport and comfort. I have the Sport package, premium 1 package, multimedia package plus blind spot assist and rear view camera. Oh yes the rear view camera is an optional item that is chargeable. Again for over $50k? Come on MB. Anyway test drive one of these and I think you will be hooked. Still a great car after 16,000 miles. Only challenge are the tires which on the sport package models are staggered sizes, so you can not rotate tires and you will only get 20,000 miles out of the Conti run flats

This is my 2nd Mercedes. My first was the C250 coupe, which I felt was underpowered. I also didn't like RWD, living in the Pacific NW where it rains a lot (well, it used to at least....) - I wanted something w/ AWD. When I saw the redesign of the C-Class, I was blown away and had to have it. Everything about the design is beautiful. Front, rear, side - doesn't matter the angle. Inside/outside - all like no other car (in this price range) in my opinion. I've owned mine for 5 months and about 3,600 miles so far. It was built in April 2015. I know there have been issues w/ earlier builds - some recalls, issues w/ the MB-Tex seats bleeding, fuel door misalignment, rear bumper/tail light misalignment, etc. I've had NONE of these issues. There's a lot of talk about excessive wind noise. Not a problem for me at all. I have the 19" AMG's with run flats, so on rougher surfaces, there is a lot of tire noise. I also have the sport package w/ the stiffer suspension - and it's noticeably rougher after having test driven one w/ the "comfort" suspension. If I could change one thing about it, I would mellow out the suspension, cause on some roads it's a little busy and you get tossed around in your seat. Guess that's what the extra bolstering is for..... I looked at the 328, A4 & A3 when I was shopping. Nothing could compare to the interior of the C-Class. The A3 was surprisingly cheap looking inside. The A4 was a classic design, but dated and tired & I was surprised by the poor resolution of the LCD screen. It's since been redesigned and is much improved (especially the instrumentation display!) - but still doesn't have the unique, elegant finesse of the C300. When people see the interior of my car for the first time, they have a strong reaction. It's not like anything they've seen before and they're surprised by it's beauty and high-end style. I love driving this car & make excuses to be in it as much as possible. I haven't had a single issue - mechanical or otherwise. I know they exist, but those seem to be the loudest voices, as is usually the case. If I had to buy it over again, I would in a heartbeat. I love this car.

I really like just about everything about the car. I have the 4-cylinder Sport model, and despite having a seemingly modest 241 HP, that figure may be a conservative estimate by MB, and with all 273 lb/ft of torque available from 1,500 RPM on up, this car accelerates very well. Shifting can be a little rough at times, although it has seemed to be improving somewhat over time. The driving mode selector lets you get even a bit more response if you want it, but the standard "comfort" setting is more than adequate for everyday driving. The interior is considered best-in-class, and possibly among the best period, for good reason. Being a larger driver, I'm always concerned about interior room when looking at cars considered to be in the compact class, but that's not really an issue with the C300. There's plenty of headroom for taller drivers if you forego the optional sunroof. The power driver's seat will adjust as far back as you want it to go, and I really like the flat-bottomed steering wheel that comes with the Sport package. The car looks really sharp inside and out. I have the 19" AMG wheels, upgraded lighting package, and rear spoiler. Combined with the aforementioned premium interior, it looks like a much more expensive car than it is. The one problem I have with the vehicle - and it's a serious one - is that most examples of this car, including mine, have a terrible wind noise issue that is bad to start, and only gets worse over time. The sound with the window completely shut is basically the same as having your window cracked open half-an-inch in other cars, and at this point in mine is about equally loud. It has gotten to the point where it is so loud that it will overcome the sound system at moderate volumes on the freeway, forcing me to set the volume louder than I would otherwise be comfortable with. If MB acknowledged the problem and at least claimed they were working on a fix, it would make me feel better about it and possibly just consider it a maintenance item, but at least to this point, they have not, instead claiming it is just a characteristic of the vehicle. For that reason, I wouldn't recommend buying this car unless/until MB provides a fix. It's shame, because it's a great car otherwise. I haven't had it long enough yet to comment on reliability, maintenance, or resale value. Update - 07/16 - I brought my vehicle in for its first regularly scheduled maintenance and mentioned the wind noise issue. Without any further trouble or negotiation, my dealer acknowledged the issue and upgraded my front windows to the dual-pane version that does not exhibit the wind noise issue. It took a week in the shop, but the issue is fixed. So I'm a happy camper in that regard. If you have a C300 with the wind noise issue, definitely push it with your dealer. By this point, they've probably seen enough cases of it to accept your claim without much issue, but if they do push back, there are plenty of other examples you can use to support your case. My observed MPG is based on using "Sport" mode almost all of the time, and driving with a lead foot. The car is very quick, and it's hard to resist accelerating when the opportunity presents itself. So I can see how you could easily average over 30, but I'm happy with upper-20s while driving relatively aggressively.

This is without a doubt the best C class ever made. It handles superbly, particularly one you ditch the run flat tires, is very powerful, rides in excellent comfort, plus, its beautiful to behold inside and out. If you want to "enhance" an already very powerful car even more you can have Renntech tune it for an additional 50 hp making the AMG version only necessary for strict race track duty. The downside of the fist year have been a few trips to the dealer; the wonderful sounding Burmester system died once, the air suspension suffered a broken sensor and finally the handsfree door handles also failed. The powertrain however has been bullet proof for 10k miles. European cars in general tend to have teething issues and this car has been no exception. The C400 has been replaced with the C450 which includes a factory AMG "tune" of the engine and transmission and another few extras. Hopefully the few electronic gremlins are also now better too.

This is my second 2015 C300. Why did I own two? Because the first one, an early 8/14 build, had so many issues that I worked out a deal with MB-USA and my dealer to trade it in and order a new car. I lost some money, but did wind up with a very fair deal and a much better car. I have owned my new C300 Sport since April, now have over 15, 000 miles on it, and it has been truly exceptional. What's good? Well, the front seating is very adjustable and easy to find a sweet spot in. Headroom and legroom are excellent, the huge display screen is always visible and free from glare, the controls ... once you get used to them ... are very usable. The Burmester sound system is much better than average, but can be a bit heavy on bass response. The touchpad is unique, and not always the easiest way to navigate the interface. Luckily, a more conventional control wheel is right under the pad and works well. The quality of the interior is truly impressive, with nice touches and decent storage, especially under the large console storage compartment. That console is large because there's no shift lever there. Mercedes opts to place the shifter on the steering column. This is strange but, after you get used to it, very simple to use. The glove box is large, but very awkward to access due to the design of its door. I need AWD where I live, and the 4Matic system works seamlessly. Fuel mileage with the turbo 4 easily tops 30 mpg on most roads. Even local driving nets me high 20's .. and the car's computer readout is actually accurate. The little 4 is quick as well, turning 0-60 times in the low 6 second range. Quite impressive. The trunk is reasonably large, but not best in class. There is no spare tire or jack in there, since the car uses run flat tires. The rear seats can be folded flat, and break into three sections. Visibility is fairly good all around. I have the blind spot assist, and it works very well on this car. It will beep if you put on your turn signal while a car is in its range, and always gives a visible alert when it detects a car to the side. The rear view camera is effective with the usual array of guidance lines. It does not however, provide any audible warning if you're too close to an object. As far as warnings, this car has no open door or open trunk warning light display. It will give a confusing alert about putting the car in Park when you start driving, but nothing else. I find this very odd. Another odd feature is the lack of an odometer readout on the digital speedometer screen. If you want to see the odometer, you have to scroll to another screen. I've never had a car that didn't display the odometer by default. Headlights are very good. I have the LED lights, but I've been told the adaptive lighting is even better. Windshield wipers are effective, and the washers use a three nozzle system which is much better than most other cars. Ride comfort is not one of this car's strong points. Whether you have the base or sport suspension package, the ride is stiff and can feel harsh over rough surfaces. It takes pavement breaks or potholes to unsettle the car, but there isn't much suspension compliance when the road gets coarse. The run flat tires are at least partially responsible for this, and I have been told that switching to standard tires makes a big difference. Handling is very good, with minimal body roll through tight turns. The steering is fairly quick and light, with some feedback through the wheel. Agility control can be used to alter the car's responses; by changing throttle mapping, transmission shift points, and steering feel. With the Airmatic suspension option, it will also alter the feel of the suspension ... but this doesn't work with the standard steel suspension. I have the Keyless Go key fob system. Touch the inside of any door handle and the car unlocks, touch the outside and the car locks. Touch the ignition button, and the car starts or turns off. With a Mercedes smartphone app, you can also lock or unlock remotely, and even send navigation points to the car from your phone or computer. (This requires MBrace, which cost extra after a 6 month trial period.) I had some problems with intermittent operation of Keyless Go, and on both cars I owned. Sometimes the fob just would not be recognized, leaving me standing beside the car unable to get in. After a minute or so, the system would reset itself and work normally again. Finally, after many complaints, Mercedes came up with a software upgrade which I had my dealer install in July. Since then, I have had no further issues with Keyless Go. With all these advanced electronics, Mercedes still will not link the key fob to the memory, so opening the car with the fob will not trigger the seat or radio memory functions. Overall, this is an attractive and excellent performing car. It has its quirks, but it is a heck of a car.

My car is 6 months only and has been in service 6 times many electrical problems. The build quality is terrible. Led lights going out, rattles, popping and cracking noises in radio, keyless go issues, loose parts p, engine errors, hard shifting tranny. Hoping I can get it declared a lemon by far the worst built car I ever owned it made my Cadillac look reliable. Most of my loaners were c300's as well and most of them had issues too. Mercedes you let me down back to bmw I go.

After test driving numerous cars I found the C300 was good if not great in all areas. The driving experience is comfortable, quiet, smooth and has great handling. I love the looks of the exterior and interior of the car. It has a luxury feel and is very functional too. I've had the car for several months now and no issues. I'm very happy with this car and my wife loves it too.

I've owned my Mercedes C400 for less than a year. Best car I've ever driven. But like anything with astounding beauty and pedigree, it's simply too high maintenance, too cold, and now, too unreliable to be practical. From issues with components not properly installed on delivery, door seals unraveling a week into ownership, two recalls, a lack of comfort in the cabin so extreme I don’t drive the car long distances, an engine stall in the street (sans key), service issues, and finally, total unreliability and failure; my C400 experience has been pretty disappointing. I'd wait at least a few more generations before touching this model-- the glitches can be severe! Intuitive? It's smart enough to drive without a key within twenty feet, and stupid enough to stay in start mode and drain your battery, without any active attempt to start the car or even be present in the car for up to five (5) hours. How smart is that. Don't let your kids touch that button! I found out. After meter parking the car in NYC, and returning several times to re-load the meter and re-display my ticket inside the car’s dash window, locking the car every time, yet the car remained in active start mode until the battery died, with no error or warning message. Smart would be something different. If there is no active start (after pressing the start button) after a period of time--perhaps this super smart car should inform the occupant, via its intuitive messaging system (no one but Mercedes can decode your car— so they tell me-- how's that for transparency), that if no ignition is attempted within X period of time, the power will terminate, and preserve battery life. Now, that would be smart. The C400 is not that smart. At less than 3500 miles, the battery died and two attempts (one of which was by Mercedes) failed to remedy the problem without dealer interference, some 60 miles and three days away. Think about that. You are stuck in the middle of no where (to you, anyway), with a dead battery-- which can happen to anyone. Mercedes roadside assistance fails to charge the battery or offer any other diagnostics on the car, and leaves you to tow to their dealership, where only they can remedy the issue. Why? The C400 apparently needed an extra long charge, longer than another motorist, a tow truck or their own roadside assistance could seem to achieve when they attempted to jumpstart the car-- the electronics wouldn't even activate but to unlock the doors and leave them disarmed. A stalled battery is one thing-- and arguably my own fault. But who wants a car so smart it won't take a charge from anyone but Mercedes? While I believe the battery had, in fact, juiced itself into a coma, I also believe something went array with the car’s electrical and computer system, and the error was one that only Mercedes could clear. How’s that for holding yourself accountable. I had another safety issue with my Mercedes C400. One morning as I was rushing to work, I got in the car (kids in tow), started her up, and reversed into the street when the car stalled. Realizing I forgot my key, which was some twenty feet away, inside my house, it dawned on me how incredible it is that I was able to start my car and pull into a busy street, with no key in close proximity. After a recent trip to the dealership, this was corrected, it seems but the service manager refused to disclose it had been an issue to begin with. My dealership (the worst luxury dealer I've ever encountered) insists there is nothing wrong with these cars and sales are robust, yet I have never seen another C400 on the road in my area. Seems to me Mercedes has some work to do in refining this model. I hope Mercedes will proactively recall any C400's with a safety issue and correct any defects in its messaging/electrical systems, if found, of course. Safety should be their top priority. Back to Audi. Tail between legs. Sigh. BTW, I offered my C400 back to the dealership (with less than 3500 miles). Not surprisingly, they passed.

I leased my car in September from mercedes of brooklyn. 1 week later the main screen broke. In the shop for 5 days. Three weeks later front right headlight went out. Another 4 days in the shop. When drive in sport plus mode when gears shift vibration sounds from passenger side rear end. Was told its normal. Then two months no issues. Then the real fun began. Steering was off and making whining sounds. Needed a whole new power steering unit. Then the sunroof broke and wouldn't close from vented position. Brought the car in April 29 multiple conversations with service waiting for parts. Every week I was told a couple days more. 3 months later parts finally arrived. Now trying to get out of my lease all together and go back to infiniti.

I loved this car - and still do to a point. However, I noticed when I was driving off the lot that speakers were making a buzzing sound. I honestly thought it must be in my head so I kept going. 6 months later, I've had it in for this to be repaired for three days and it still does it. Internet forums are filled with users complaining that their premium Burmeister sound system buzzes and rattles. Some dealerships claim they can't hear it. One forum poster said he's had it in 9 times to fix the buzz. Yesterday, I made a video of EXACTLY how to reproduce it here. https://youtu.be/VjPDFnf6TOI Please do yourself an enormous favor and try this test to confirm that your new car does not buzz. Once you buy it, odds are it is permanent. I would not have spent 70k on this car knowing this.

Purchased C400 six months ago with interior, multimedia, panorama sunroof, blind spot, hands-free trunk packages; has been to the dealer exactly once to install plates. This vehicle is great for someone looking for a good balance between sportiness and luxury. Had driven the late model E-series a few times and, while it was moderately luxurious, always thought the handling was relatively stodgy and heavy-feeling, even with the V-8. The 400C is nearly as long and wide as an E, but feels far nimbler and quicker (in part because it weighs just shy of 3700 lbs.). Positives: power and handling, exterior styling and interior appointments, color combination (Palladium silver, cranberry red leather and open-pore black ash trim), blind spot assist and navigation/multi-media setup. Negatives: don't find the touch pad particularly intuitive, sport suspension can seem harsh on poor pavement, windshield profile creates some wind noise. On balance, though, very fun and comfortable drive -- and who needs the extra 30 horses in the MY16 C450?

Update: 16k miles I am enjoying the car a lot. The engine, transmission and suspension are 1st class. MB fixed my complaints free under warranty: Gas door, sunroof. AC is still icy. I purchased this car because the reviews were so good, it has the latest tech (It's screen rocks) and I get 34.6 mgp to work. It is quiet and always finds the right gear. When pushed hard it is predictable and we'll composed. Irritating: sunglass storage will spit your glasses back out, pain to go between functions in infotainmet-really a pain, A/C is always icy, mix of quality and cheap materials, serious lack of useful storage. I opened the hood then could not close it, gas cover is pain to close, head rest started rattling after 4 weeks, there is a loud ding every time you open the door, the seat backs are cheap, the headliner is cheap, floor mats are cheap, the trunk lid is not balanced and does not close well, rear sun shade not opening all the way after 2 weeks, remote window open never works. All the little things kill this car for me. I had 2 Infiniti's and never had so many problems in 15 years as I have had in 3 months.

2015 C300 4MATIC leased end of Jan 2015. As of April 2015 my car has been in for service 6 times. Im having several electrical issues most of them are recorded on video. I have contacted Mercedes Benz asking for help in either getting me another C Class or a different model Mercedes. As per Mercedes Benz they will NOT change my vehicle at all. I ma to remain with this messed up car for three more years. Mercedes USA agrees that the vehicle has been in for service many times but have not found anything wrong with my car even after I am showing them videos of whats going on. DISGUSTING SERVICE!! THEY WILL TREAT YOU LIKE A KING UNTIL YOU HAVE ISSUES. I WILL BE TAKING THIS COMPLAINT FURTHER

Purchased Feb 2015. About 1700 miles. Great looks. Have almost every option. Lighting pkg a must. Drove both C300 and 400. Huge difference in power and driving fun with the 400. Really enjoying my Benz. However, a few negatives just for heads up for others. Right rear door handle broke. Bit of lag in tranny between 0-1500 rpms. No lights on air controls on dash. Can't control radio while Nav is on screen. Prefer auto mirrors go down when backing up. Lacks this option. Great hybrid car for power,comfort,sportyness, and performance. Didn't drive any of the competition because I wanted to try Benz. Look forward to great future with my pavement princess.

Just came out of a 2012 Infiniti G37 and picked up the C-300 4matic with sport package +other options. Car is definitely pricey once optioned out. Car rides great, but no comparison in power to the G37. if you want to push the car again it does not compare. It is more luxurious than it is sport even with the sport package. Has great styling overall. However for the price you can not sync your key fob to the memory seat system. MB does not do it. Infiniti and Lexus do. Just stupid that you have to hold a memory seat button on a 50k car to get your seat in to position after your wife drove the car last. Overall though still a great car. Better value is the Acura TLX with Tech Pkg.

Stunning interior, good stereo, stylish exterior and average performance. The bad.....Brakes with the AMG sport package will make a loud, disturbing noise when both weather and brakes are cold. Dealer says it is a known problem, MB USA confirms but does not have a fix. Opened a case with MB USA and they won't answer. Many complaints about this on forums. The noise is so loud that neighbors inside their homes have looked outside when I leave for work. Very embarrassing. Stay away from the black MB tex interior, it will sweat out a white waxy residue wheny it warms up in cold weather. If MB would stand behind their product, I would recommend but they don't. Buy a BMW.

Amazing design, finishes, and everything a large car would have in a smaller one without compromises. You can't get that anywhere else it seems. They all try and upsell you to a larger car. My advice for a potential buyer is to option is well. The airmatic suspension----a must. The leather----a must. It seems most luxurious in it's luxury 'version' over sport 'version.

I was about to enter my car this morning when I looked at the back seats I was shocked to see seats covered with white faded stains . Then I looked at front seats and saw the same . The back of both head rests are covered with same stains .Looks like mil dew stains. I was wondering if anyone else had same problem. I am shocked that this could happen to Mercedes benz .

MBUSA knows about the issue that is out there with these cars and has no fix. Not only that, they gave us no make-good offer and expect us to drive the car with a gut wrenching loud piercing noise coming from the front of the car. Bad car, bad, company, bad service. Aside from being more a little more expensive than the competition. This car is extraordinary. The interior and exterior design are spectacular. Many have complained about the display, but I bet no one complains about it after driving it, its precisely where it needs to be and the right size to operate all the myriad of functions the car offers while still maintaining an eye on the road. Comfort is extraordinary in the front and excellent in the back as log as the rear passenger is 6 foot or less. Power is prodigious on the 400. Handling on sport and sport plus is also excellent. Burmese audio system is among the best in the market regardless of price.

I wanted to love this car, I really did, but after just 6 months of ownership I ended up getting rid of it as it was a headache dealing with the issues. The car itself is gorgeous and the performance is great. It goes down hill from there. The fit and finish both inside and out was terrible as the bumper never truly lined up properly even after being taken off and re-installed by the dealership. There were several creaks and rattles inside the vehicle after just a month of ownership. The dealership fixed it at first but several of them returned not long after the fix was applied...I suppose some of this could be blamed on having the 19 inch wheels and run flat tires which can provide for an unforgiving ride quality on poor road conditions (which I unfortunately have to deal with for a portion of my daily commute). The deal break though was the electronic gremlins I had with the active safety features. On several occasions I had issues with the Collision Prevention Assist feature which actually almost caused a couple of accidents itself as the system would fail completely, then disable traction control, as well as reduce engine power so that when pushing the gas pedal all the way down to the floor the car would barely even accelerate and there would be a couple of seconds delay before even begin to accelerate. If I needed to perform any kind of maneuver to avoid another vehicle or object I would have been in an accident due to this issue. The dealership was clueless as to what was causing the issue and so was MB in Germany. The dealership said they came up with a fix in their shop and applied it but I still encountered the issues and when trying to have it fixe again the dealership told me that the computer didn't even record the malfunction and therefore couldn't investigate any further since there were no software logs. After that I had enough and got rid of it as my family's safety is more important to me than what I had hoped for with this vehicle.

I purchased this vehicle as a commuter car. I drive about 30,000 miles per year and wanted an AWD vehicle that was German engineered. You cant beat the performance! However, when the car was being delivered I quickly figured out that the technology is meant for use in your driveway rather than while you are on the road. The tablet feature is not integrated with the steering wheel controls, the favorites menu for the radio is one long list inclusive of FM, AM and Sat presets, the phone lists can only be pulled by incoming or outgoing, there is no voice control for phone w/out the multimedia pckg. Worst of all, no icon showing if a door is open!!!!

Nice job on the 2015, Mercedes. Wow. Nice interior, nice drive.. dont under estimate that 4 cylinder. I have always owned 6 cylinder cars but with this in Sports+... I don't miss my V6 at all... well except for the V6 sound. Other than that.. this is a fun and luxurious daily drive that would make rush hour traffic feel less exhausting.

A little background -I'm 76. Kids told me to ditch my 2006 Lexus 330. They told me, however, that they wanted me not to run back to Lexus to replace. They wanted me to "blow their inheritance" on myself. Well you can imagine that really opened up a LOT of options. After a long two days of looking I ended up buying the 2015 MB C300. It just checked all of the important things for me, ride, handling, safety, technology and looks. The price was a bonus. It cost me under $50K. I could easily afford well over that no problem and pay cash. But why? This car has everything I need. Why spend more? I want to have fun while in my car and so should you!
