The Trax was one CUV I wanted to love, after test driving I passed. In 2013 I test drove an Encore and loved it but the price was too much. Fast forward to 2015, I couldn't wait to get behind the wheel of the Trax. First, the LT model is just shy of $25k which is a lot considering its lack of features at this trim. Get passed that then there's the interior which is made of hard designed plastic, which again feels like a much more inexpensive car than a mid $20k CUV. Controls ultimately felt cheap and toylike. Driving it, isn't a bad experience, toss able and somewhat fun. Still needs a larger engine with more power though. Transmission shifts pretty well but the car struggles when accelerating. Seats are probably ripped straight out of the Spark( no offense to the Spark) which are not very comfortable and there is only one narrow armrest for the front passengers. This CUV is probably the smallest of the group. The back seats are cumbersome and require folding the bottom cushion first, then removing the headrests, and then you may fold the seat back. Tech? Decent even good at times, Mylink is a great system. Overall, I'm sure anyone would be happy with it but ultimately it falls short of its competition. My advice? Drive them all then make your decision.

Zippy and fun to drive

I've been on the lookout for a small Suv for yrs. I gravitated towards a Buick Encore by my Trax LT AWD has the look and comfort for less. It's remarkably quiet and the interior plastics look durable and are nice. I can't believe how smoothly this small suv drives. The Bose stereo system with a spare tire mounted Subwoofer sounds strong and the car has been used on a few road trips (5 hrs plus on the road) and the drive is not fatiguing. The leatherette and cloth seats in the LT are ideal, very comfortable/breathable for the summer heat. See the USA in A Chevrolet! Great job Chevrolet!

Love it!

I had a 2014 Cruze, and I loved it. We drove 23000 mile in 2 years. Just bought my Trax two days ago and the Trax is so much more comfortable getting in and out. I have had back problems getting in and out of the lower sitting cars. It has the same motor as the Cruze but the Trax seems a little more peppier. I did some research on the Trax and it seems 50/50, either you love it or you hate it. We love ours can't wait for our next road trip. Take it for a long test drive, do your research and decide what you want before you go to the dealership and feel pressured. I did make one compromise and that was the color and i can live with that.

Do your homework and drive other cars.

Don't spend the money on this make and mode. Do your homework. I had a pushy salesman and the interior quality is all plastic, marks up and the seats do not even adjust much. New tires cost a fortune because they are a hard size to find. I couldn't drive it in the snow. I had no traction and the car went off the road many times. No room in back seat area. You get a better ride and room in a KIA. Should have shopped. Buyer beware.

I'm in love!

I just bought my Trax yesterday, I gave up my Mercedes to be practical. I was afraid of looking like a mom (no offense to mothers, mothers make the world go 'round) because I was so used to the "status" of the Mercedes. The Trax is so luxurious inside that I decided to go ahead and trade the Mercedes! The features inside make me feel so fancy (I got the LT Plus package) and the leather trim and 2-tone brown and black interior are beautiful. I drive all day long for work and this car is so easy to maneuver and park, and it picks up quickly. I read many reviews that dogged on the speed of the Trax but it picks up faster than the Mercedes did so I'm not sure what they're comparing it to. If you want an SUV and to be wise financially, this car has amazing value for the price!

By the way, Espresso is the color of my Trax. I was going to get AWD with Buffalo winters but I went for more features instead. I feel like I have AWD, this SUV is awesome in the snow and ice. Not to mention the acceleration and how roomy this SUV is. I saw it at the Buffalo Auto Show 2/2015 and purchased it 8/2015...VERY HAPPY :)

I love this little SUV...I think it's cute...and easy to get into...roomy and I love the small but ample size...parks like a dream..there are very few things I don't like about this car...it's perfect for me...and...it's my first new car ever...I'm 73...it's not for the race drivers...or probably for those with children...but for a couple and especially any city driving and parking...she's a sweet heart...!!

Everything is made to brake like a cheap bad brand tv , I have it for 10 months and my back hatch is broken some times open many times doesnt , the handle fells off , the lock itself for the back hatch is made of plastic , how can a door lock be made of plastic ? the engine light come on and off all the time , the bottom for the shift is made of a cheap plastic and broke a piece, the wipers doenst wipe right and leaves parts of it on the windshield , to change the cabin air filter we have to dismantle the glove compartment that is badly made all the connection is plastic and easily breakable that is some of the things I can say about my 2015 chevy trax

Impressed

I was definitely scared about the size of this engine not being able to pass cars or go over mountain passes very well. I'm very impressed with how well this little car does! I did about 75-80 mph over the mountains and got 31 mpg with no struggle. Also, living in Spokane, WA I was anxious to try out the awd. It's awesome! I have owned an awd Mercedes and can't say that it was any better than the Trax. The only complaints are that a movie can't be played while driving (for passengers) and I struggled with getting my phone to bluetooth. The last complaint is when downshifting for engine braking, it doesn't hold speed. But, I have to say for the price this car is amazing.

I'm a musician and this vehicle gives me everything I need and then some. I could not be more surprised at what I got as far as value. I am in love with this vehicle....seriously!!! Great small SUV for the city (FROM PHILLY) I recommend highly. I read somewhere that the vehicle was slow, sluggish, well let me just say that I use to drag race and the Trax is not slow...NOW your not going to win many drag races but lets be real, you have more than enough power. Well enough said, go test drive a Trax!!!

Our new little one.

Traded in Chevy Equinox 2LT but wanted smaller suv, now, no kids, etc. This does the job. Surprised with responsiveness of small engine but turbo does the job very well. Passing a car or interstate entrance much better that the 4 cyl Equinox. Good mileage but not much better than Equinox on highway. But much better in-town. Disappointed with one sun visors. They don't extend to cover the whole window when positioned on either driver or passenger side windows. Only covers half. Miss the power lift gate. Not an option on Trax.

They need to put a hole in the glove box door that hides the usb port and axl for the ipod hook up (in front of the passenger seat) When using an ipod you have to leave the door open its kind of distracting when driving. There needs to be a hole big enough for the cables to go through when using electronics so you can shut that door. Plus if there's a passenger onboard that could be dangerous for the passenger.

Rides great. It has great visibly. Quiet. good mileage. We also have a Ford Escape Titanium which is a great suv. I drive the Trax for work and some travel and it cost 10k less than the escape. I could have bought the Buick Encore, but it was 3k more and I could not see what the big improvement would be by paying the additional premium. This is a great value suv for singles, empty nesters, and small families.

Just recently purchased the vehicle, so can't say a whole lot about it at this point. But the one thing I have noticed is the liftgate is not made for short people. I am only 5'1" and to close the lift I have to jump up to reach it. I am an elderly person and that is hard for me to do. Have almost fallen a couple of times. GM need's to modify that with a pull down strap that is easily accessible. Checked with the dealership to see what could possibly be done to correct the problem and they did have a suggestion as to how to fix it, but it requires drilling a hole in the lift and my husband isn't comfortable that not knowing what he may drill into. And of course the service department "might" do it for a charge. The only other thing I have noticed to date is the rear seat head rest block's part of the view when looking through the rear view mirror. Not good if you are traveling the interstate or 4 lane highway. Other than that, I really like the vehicle. Well worth the cost.

This little crossover/SUV continues to be the best, easiest to drive, most comfortable subcompact vehicle I've ever owned and driven. Entry and exit are easy and visibility from the driver seat is superior. Rearview camera which activates on shifting to reverse is quick to activate, and offers a good look behind before and while backing. Seats are chair height comparing favorably to any SUV on the road today. Not sure why some reviewers have knocked the acceleration of the 1.4 litre turbo or the 6 speed auto transmission. I cannot find fault with either one, unless of course, I had just driven a $75,000 BMW and expected that kind of power and response from a Trax costing a third as much.... Storage areas are numerous but small; lack of a passenger center armrest, or a shared armrest/console seems the only oversight in design. It should be there, or available as an option! I love driving the Trax... and so does the wife (it's Her daily driver). It is definitely not a sports car, but handles well at reasonable speeds; the AWD is seamless, and inspired confidence in winter snow. Never had a better car, and have owned some great ones. I'm a car guy who has owned over 40, driven the rest, and definitely had my doubts about a South Korean Chevy with such a "tiny" engine, but continue to impressed with the little package GM put together. Even while considering the sometimes nervous, twitchy handling inherent in a tall, short wheelbase crossover in windy interstate highway conditions (my only gripe so far) this little car has been great since day one.

I bought my 2015 Chevrolet Trax LS, FWD in silver on January 20th. So far I have to say I’m very happy with my purchase, since I do have to admit that I’ve been a fan of the pint-size SUV since 2012 when I admired it for the first time visiting Canadian websites online.
