Shifting sucks when taking off from a stop. Right now my 2015 is in the shop getting a new transmission. Other than continous problems with the tranny I haven't had any other problems. Not happy at all !!!

I'm a delivery driver, so I'm not exactly gentle on my vehicles, but I have to say that I was very disappointed in the Spark. I bought this vehicle new at year-end in Houston for a decent (in my opinion) price - $12800. I immediately took out the back seatbacks, as I only use it for delivery and carrying one passenger. Even before doing that, there was tons of storage space. In a comical moment at work, I took a delivery that the owner of a Ford F-150 couldn't fit in his bed and cab- HA! The seat is very comfortable - a big plus for someone who sits in it over 8 hours a day. No CD player. Damn. No Bluetooth. Damn. Aux cord works well, though. Here's the rub: acceleration was always finicky, even after the well-communicated recall work on the CVT belt tensioner was completed. On several occasions, I would be left dangerously exposed when crossing traffic because the vehicle would not accelerate until a second or two after I had floored it. Last week, it died when I shifted into reverse, then exhibited a strong shudder when accelerating (similar in feel to a new driver learning to drive stick). I took it in, and they are currently replacing the entire transmission. I purchased this vehicle hoping to get 125k miles out of it over the next five years, but now I'm not so sure. Luckily, it is still under the bumper-to-bumper warranty, so I don't have to pay a dime, but that's the tradeoff for it depreciating over $4k in one year. I made the decision to purchase this vehicle instead of a Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris because of the price point, but in this case it seems I got what I paid for.

BAD TRANSMISSION OR IGNORANT SERVICE PERSONEL!!!!!

I purchased a 2014 llt about 4 months ago. The car is what I was looking for in a compact car with great gas mileage. But, it seems the transmission has some issues and the dealer says that the way it shifts... If you take off slow it will jerk your back out of wack its so bad. It also has a shutter when you take off. down shifts very hard.. The dealer says again that's the way it was designed.. Make sure you drive one and get a good test drive before buying.. If the issues cant be resolved I'm going to sell or trade it. It's that bad.. BEWARE!!!!!

I purchased this car for economy city driving. My goal and expectations were low purchase as well as operation cost. That would disqualify any hybrid vehicle. The purchase price was so low that I could not pass up such a good opportunity. It is too early to tell how long term reliability will be, hopefully good.

2015 Chevy Spark Review

I have two main complaints on my Chevy Spark. I've had this car for about 7 months and I'm already looking to upgrade to a 2013 Kia. I bought my Spark new and I requested a standard key fob remote and I then found that it's not available for the Spark, but there is an Onstar app that does the job. I found out very, very quickly that this was impossible to use - the app was unresponsive and full of glitches, not to mention, they only "door" the app unlocked was the trunk! Another complaint I have is the acceleration. It's about a 0-60mph in about 10.5 seconds, making it very difficult not to jolt forward in the Spark when transitioning to a highway from city. Aside from these big complaints, this car is VERY noisy. You can hear more of the ground and wind outside than the stereo system. The stereo system in the LS is very muffled and grainy...if you are someone who relies on music, it becomes very difficult to enjoy any of it with the quality of the speakers. This is a car without Bluetooth connectivity, phone connectivity for calls, or a USB port. Additionally, there is no center counsel for storage. You're left to use the small side pockets on either side of the front seats and an extremely small "pocket" in the back with only one pocket on the back of the passenger seat. I feel it is important to mention that when it is a windy day, the Spark will blow and shift slightly into other lanes. This car is very difficult to control in windy conditions. I would not recommend this car to anyone - it is a very, very affordable car however the cheap price definitely shows in the interior, exterior, and engine.

I have a new 2015 spark. if I can I am going to install a new intake system like a k &n and see if I can fit a scat cat exhaust system under it. I think I could get 100 hp out of it.

This is a great car for many reasons. It has a touch screen media center, bluetooth, cruise, great safety, 10 airbags, USB, AUX in, foldable rear seats, theft protection, ABS, STC, and TCS. The volume automatically adjusts for road noise. So at high speeds it auto increases volume slightly and vice versa. The rear wipers come on automatically when you shift to reverse and the front wipers are currently on. It has leatherette seats. So far everyone that's seen it thought it was real leather. Very smart car. Excellent mileage, surprisingly good acceleration, fun to drive, nimble small size, yet adequate storage room especially when folding down seats. All for a ridiculously low price. This is a better equipped car than cars costing $2000 to $5000 more. I'm not joking. I am 6"2' and it's comfortable. However, it wouldn't fit an adult well behind me because I have the seat full back. I could move it up, but it better be less than a 45 minute drive if I do so.

I owned a chevy spark for a couple of months i loved it. I was recently in a car accident going 45 i was t-boned, the called rolled a couple times and then flipped upside down. I walked away with a couple scratches, the car was totaled. I would recommend this car to any one looking for a low cost full-efficient and safe car.

I first got the 2013 standard spark in pink almost 3 years ago. When I say standard thats an understatement. The thing didnt have power locks no curse control or usb port. I love the car over all. In the past 2 weeks i upgraded to the grape spark lt and it has all the features I was missing from the pink one. it seems roomier then the 2013. The only problems I have with the 2015 is that the acceleration seems to delay when I press the gas pedel and the usb port keeps changing the settings on my Iphone and when i hit the skip/seek bottle on the stering wheel it changes the radio station that i was on before plugging my phone in. Oh and the bluetooth takes a very long time to sync with my phone. Other then that I love it!

Love my Spark

This was my first brand new car purchase. I didn't want a car payment, but was tired of having to out money into repairs. I figured if I bought a decent used car I would be paying around $6000 for a car with high mileage. So I started looking for an affordable new car. After a few weeks of research I found the Spark. Great little car. I do a lot of driving, gas mileage is amazing. I average 36-40 mpg. I've put 11k miles on car in 7 months. No mechanical issues. I did receive a factory recal for the radio but didn't get around to get it done. It's not a race car but it does seem peppy for a little car. I don't romp on it so that probably helps mpg. Took it on 800 mile trip. It was decent ride, the seats are comfortable and the cab room is bigger than what it seems. The back seat is also roomy and comfy for short rides. I did miss cruise control. But I used less than $60 in gas. Bonus. I was concerned about the safety of this small car. But reading reviews it seemed it was good. Ten airbags. I'm writing this review after being t-boned at 55mph. I'm absolutely astonished how well the Spark held up. Although the car is totaled, its saftey features more than likely saved my life. I will definitely be getting another one.

I have owned so many cars, I have lost count. For my money, this one tops the list. Drove like a Ferrari on a long road trip, great gas mileage, and 5 speed is just fun! I have had more people ask me about this car than any other. Very pleased!

I bought my 2015 Chevy Spark in April. Last night the steering locked up and I couldn't get the key to turn. A friend helped me get the steering wheel loose. If it happens again I'm returning the car to get a different model. I'm disappointed. I like the car otherwise even if it doesn't have any get up and go which needs to be improved in newer Sparks.

I just bought a 2015 Chevy Spark LT after spending a week car shopping for a new commuter car. My criteria: small car (that my 6' 2" frame will FIT into), 30 - 40 mpg, affordable, fun creature comforts. I found this LT version at the end of a LONG day of car shopping after passing on a couple of Fiat 500s, a Prius, and an uninspiring stripped-down 2014 Spark base model with a manual transmission. The 2015 Spark LT with automatic transmission really answered all the concerns that were raised with previous Spark models: better acceleration (still a tad anemic, but it IS a small engine), more comfort, and a better sound system. This is a lot of fun to drive, and my teenage son was really impressed with sound system (and the way I could use my iPhone for music AND Bluetooth dialing through the sound system). Now, everyone in the family wants to go for a ride in "Dad's FANCY new car"...

Live in the city work in the city, great car for parking in TIGHT spots. Handles great around town and once up to highway speeds holds it's own pretty well. Once you get behind the wheel you feel like the car is larger than it actually is which is great for interstate highway driving. Good car for a couple, small family, but without folding the seats not much luggage space. Plenty of room behind the seats for groceries though. A couple of cons though. 1 - Wish it had more power, but it will keep up with traffic in most situations. 2 - Doesn't have a telescopic wheel, that would be nice. 3 - Rear seats aren't hard to fold, just complicated at first; but you get used to it quickly. So far so good.
