I purchased this car brand new in Charleston, SC for $15,600. It features the 6-speed manual trans. I have just hit 60,000 miles and the car runs excellent. I average 41.6 miles per gallon, when the car was brand new it was 41.9 to 42 miles per gallon, mostly highway driving at 60 MPH. I am still on the original factory tires and they still have a decent amount of tread left. I change my oil every 5k miles using the cheapest 0W-20 full synthetic I can find usually at Napa. The main complaint is the Blue Tooth, periodically it will disconnect from my phone for no readily apparent reason. It is not the phone's fault as I have had 4 different phones in this car and the blue tooth will disconnect and sometimes take 20 minutes to an hour before connecting again. Also quite frequently while parked the car will not go into reverse. You must inch the car forward in first gear to get the gears to line up for reverse. This happens abut 1 in every 4 times I need to use reverse while stopped. Not a big deal. The cup holders are in between the gear shifter and the center console arm rest, so tall drinks with straws may interfere with your forearm while shifting. I had the cruise control installed aftermarket for $400, both the brake and clutch pedal deactivate the cruise. The car isn't very fast off the line nor is it fast when passing unless you grab a much lower gear and get that engine to rev up higher. This car is designed to be affordable and reliable and it is exactly that. at 41.6 miles per gallon it is very cheap to drive. During the past 60,000 miles I have had no warranty issues at all, the only thing I had the dealership do was adjust the headlights a little bit lower. From the factory they seemed high and I was constantly having other drivers flash their high beams at me thinking I had my brights on. My wife complains that the head rest tilt her head too far forward and she flips them around while driving. I do not have this problem. She is 5ft3in tall I am 5ft8in. This is a timing chain driven engine which is a plus, no timing belts! Driving in the hills of Western NC near Ashville the car did very well on the interstate in 6th gear at 70 MPH, steep grades may require dropping into 5th gear. AC works well in 95+ heat and cools the car rather quickly

I am so sorry I purchased this car without some one more knowledgeable than me to look it over. I paid cash $12,700.00 for the car and should have never did it as I purchased it in a rush and was moving across state in 2 days. Before I had the car 7 days I had to pay $179.00 to have an oil leak fixed, however the dealer is suppose to send me a check for the repair. I had many scratches on the paint, a dent under the right door, I did not see and my front under panel if it is called that on the drivers side has a large crack in it which will most definitely have to be fixed. I am so upset about my car if I could get my money back I would. I take pride in our cars as we have only had 2 new ones and several used ones. I was told this car would last me for a long period of time, but with these things looking me in the eye each time I go to get into it I do not think so. I only live on social security and the sale of my husband's boat and truck was the only way I had cash to pay for this car. My husband is in long term care and I am and have been his caregiver for many years. I will never have the money to pay for another car as I have had to move into my son's home to have a place that I could live.

I purchased a Toyota as a second car. I'm very impressed with the fuel mileage that has been averaging 34-38 mpg. The car looks great, but is pretty unremarkable in performance, handling and overall fun (then again I did not expect much of a driving experience or performance out of a Corolla)

Love this car!

This car is about 16 months old w/ about 24K miles. I had the lane change indicator reset from 3 "flashes" to 6 - the dealer did it during regular service with no problem. The stock stereo is excellent, though I added a subwoofer to get the full range of sound. I have no problems with the CVT engine. It's not going to blow the doors off most cars from the line, but I've had no problem passing people (which I do often) when I drop it out of Eco mode. I usually travel 70 -75 MPH and I average 40 MPG. The ride is smooth, maybe a little noisy on the highway, but typical for a compact car (maybe even a little better). The Bluetooth feature is great, though it can occasionally be finicky when I stream music from my Android phone. I like the interior design, and passengers usually compliment the look of the interior. The LED headlights are awesome - firing up the brights is like turning night into day. The cruise control is well designed and I almost always use it when on the highway. I highly recommend this car to anyone interested in a car that is comfortable, easy to drive, great on gas, and has a bit of power to it. It's not a sports car, but it's still fun to drive. Even after a year and a half, I still enjoy driving it every day.

love it!

I have been a Toyota owner for the last five years. My family has owned multiple Toyota cars in the past years, hence, the reason why my family decided to purchase a Toyota vehicle. Since the ownership of my Toyota Corolla, which was bought brand new, I have had multiple issues with the vehicle, i.e., temperature gauge had gone bad two-years after purchasing the vehicle, driver's window stuck in down position, and the vehicle began to shake vigorously at around 40,000 miles and then again at 78,000 miles (when my children under the age of 5 were present during both incidents). I have been getting the vehicle serviced and maintained on time from a Toyota authorized service dealership. I have been completely unsatisfied with the level of care and commitment Toyota has provided. For a company that strives on "innovation, quality and reliability," Toyota has failedto comply with their standards and level of concern. I had registered a complaint with the Toyota Customer Experience Center, who disregard my complaint and faulted me atthe vehicle’s condition. The Executives that I had dealt with repeatedly continued to say that the engine failing is not Toyota's problem, even though I am able to prove that my maintenance was done on a timely basis. The Customer Care team members are rude and beyond help, with no sense of professionalism or mannerism. I have an $8,000.00 expense at the cost of Toyota’s faults and oversight. I am appalled to learn that Toyota knew about such faulty engines and issues but chose not take any action to fix such vehicles, given the fact they claim they have the most reliable cars – I think that is an understatement. Now, I will think twice before going back to a Toyota and never recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle from Toyota until they are able to accept responsibly and value their vehicles and customers.

I drive about 30k mi a year. Was buying my first new car & needed a safe & reliable vehicle for my 70 mile commute plus driving obscene distances working as a Child Protective Services Worker. I got the S Plus with nav, smart key & sunroof. Car started rattling 1 month in. Couldn't replicate noise so no fix. Nav screen starts zooming out on its own...something got stuck between screen & frame. Bent a rim. Tire & Rim Warranty won't replace. Brought car in for 30k mile service & because I was hearing a whining noise...Toyota replaces entire transmission! Extremely alarming. The car drives fine. Does what I need it to do and more. Currently at 34k miles & plan to drive it into the ground.

Bought 2014 LE Eco Plus in September of 2013. At 13,300 miles, Code registered for fuel/air imbalance. Service Bulletin said cylinder head and 4 valves to be replaced under warranty. Major repair for a young car. Very disappointed. Toyota will not at this point extend drive train warranty for free because they have "fixed" it. Other than that, car runs smoothly, nice and heavy for a little car. The gray seat fabric stains very easily, even a wet gym bag or wet work bag if left on the seat too long leave pronounced stain, even with the Stain Guard extra they sell you at time of purchase. This is a hassle, worrying about everything that touches the seats. Average 32MPG.

I've had my '14 corolla s plus for 7 months. I haven't had one issue with it. It gets great gas mileage. Probably my favorite feature is the led headlights. They are amazing! Your night vision can't be beat by any of the competition right now. It's really impressive how well they work. there's plenty of room in the back seat for passengers, the front seats are comfortable as well. Nice dash display. the cvt is fine. It's different than what you'd be used to at first but it tries to act like a regular automatic with shift points. Not a race car, but a gas sipping sedan with style. I might end up buying it after the lease is up. Leds are a huge plus!

*Starting the car: You have to have the clutch pushed very hard, all the way to the ground and make sure to hold the button in long enough. My fiance’s car is a 6 speed with a push start and I’ve never had any trouble with his car. I have driven a stick shift for over 15 years. This clutch is very picky and after a lot of time spent stranded, sitting in my car, I have finally realized that I need to ride the clutch, unfortunately. That's the only way I can get it to get up and go without stalling. I'm always super nervous while driving it for this reason and feel unsafe. My fiancé also refuses to drive my car for this reason. *Where is the sound proofing?? When driving in the rain/snow...

This is my first Toyota. The decision was based on a rental car - we liked it so well that we bought the Corolla instead of the Ford Fusion we had been considering. The interior seems much more of an upgrade from the previously owned Mercury Sable, also more room , especially legroom. Wife and daughter rate the cloth seating much more comfortable than the leather in the Sable. The instrument panel is the thing which I look at most of the time (LOL)and that is one of the features I like best. In town gas mileage has been consistent at 30-to-31 miles per gallon and on a trip Texas-to California, cruising 65 MPH from 39-to-41 MPG. Styling sort of grows on you.

It is my first car with CVT automatic trans. and It took me time to get used to it...it is very slow on a startup and on response to acceleration. This model is a basic car which will get you from point A to point B without a problem. Comfortable to drive, we love interior, including a standard blue-tooth and cruise control. I installed remote starter which saves a lot of hustle in a cold winter day. On the 2014 and up models, you have to live a key with the module in a dash board, this is a big drawback. The engine is underpowered and that's the reason for O.K. fuel consumption, not an excellent.

whenever something is wrong with the car, Toyota's answer is: the car is designed like that. The GPS is designed to take me to addresses several miles from their actual location. it is designed to take me in circles and it is designed to take me several miles into dead end streets. (I paid about $ 1,500 Dollars for this feature and have to stick my 4 year old Garmin onto the windshield). Also, I got a speeding ticket because the speedometer is designed to be unreadable when the sun shines through the window. Within a few months I have seen several 2014 Corollas driving with the taillights off.

My 2014 Corolla 6 speed now has 23k miles on it. At 60 MPH I get 43 MPG, at 75 MPH I get 38 MPG. This car is slow to take off and hard to pass at highway speeds unless you drop down a couple of gears and grab some higher RPM. I had to have my head lights adjusted lower, on low beam other drivers constantly flashed me thinking my high beams were on. Cruise control works nice (installed after purchase) steering wheel does not move in and out, only up and down. No SAT radio on this model, Wife complains that the head rest is uncomfortable in front seats. Engine is quiet, only heard at high RPMs. Collar on gear shift unlocks reverse option, reverse is to the left and up, (next to first gear)

At 41.4 inches, the Toyota Corolla has more backseat legroom than almost any vehicle on the road — not compared to just compact cars, but even large luxury cars, mini-vans, and SUVs. Sit in the backseat of the Corolla, then sit in the backseat of any other car in its price range. If you're a tall person — or ever intent to transport tall people — other backseats feel like a penalty box. We first discovered the 11th generation Corolla sitting in the backseat, as we were passengers in an Uber taxi. In a moment, an auto mark I ignore (Corolla) climbed to the top of my list. The handsome looks, historic reliability, insane value, and 38+ MPG on the highway are all bonus. So happy.

This is a car that is great from getting from point A to point B, without flashiness. It works great for quick trips and longer drives. The cvt transmission takes a bit to get used to, but works fine and pulls the car up hills better than a regular automatic transmission. I have 5800 miles on the car, it has been a great car. At 5,000 miles it was .25 qt low on oil. That is within my acceptable range (80% full). I also changed the oil at the initial 5000 mile mark. The engine was broken in and i changed it with royal purple full synthetic. The broken in motor had dirtied the oil quiye a lot. At the 5,000 mile mark, it was light to medium in darkness, but drained oil was very dark.

As a long time Toyota fan, I was delighted that the Corolla was seriously upgraded for 2014. I have always been impressed with the Corolla's build quality and reliability but it was in danger of being left behind in the compact car segment due to a lack of style and current technology. After trading in my 2010 S model for a new LE Plus, I could not be happier. The styling, ride, technology and interior room are greatly improved. Granted this is no sports car, but this has the quietest ride in the compact class and is as smooth as glass on the interstate at 80 mph. The CVT shifts smoothly and fuel economy is noticeably better. All of this at a better price than either Honda Civic or Mazda 3.

As mentioned by someone else, this car generally get so-so reviews because it doesn't comply with auto-journalist enthusiasts vision of a great car : no turbo, no DI, no IRS, no 4 disc brakes... They miss the point. This "old technology" package accomplish equivalent or more than some of the fancier competition : comfortable and composed ride and decent power with a hard to beat fuel economy (I'm at 38 mpg average 50/50) over 10,000 miles, despite the break-in period and harsh winter. Lots of plastic Inside but well put together with a somewhat elegant design. Real DEL headlights (not decorative) are great. Steering wheel /voice, Bluetooth, USB, back-up camera. Any equivalent for 20K $ ? UPDATE after three years : Still running great. The most trouble-free no fuss owning experience I've had with a car (this is my first Toyota). Maintenance cost is the lowest. Only one "service campaign" to update the firmware of the valvematic system - half an hour at the dealer. MPG is even getting better over time.

I purchased this car for my wife in Evergreen exterior with amber seats. It looks weird in pictures but really good in person. The current Honda civics are ugly and the interior materials are subpar. Toyota really hit a home run with this car. Exterior is sleek and handsome, while the interior is well thought out and handsome. There are still actual knobs for volume and AC. AC blows cold. Power is really good, especially for climbing hills. The CVT is really good and smooth, I don't hear any whine at all. I find the LE ECO is the best value, since it already has a backup camera and hiighest MPG. Don't need any fancy wheels to reduce my MPG. Car is relatively quiet.

I just bought my 2014 Corolla S in April of 2014. Usually I hate when people write reviews with under 60,000 miles on their cars, but there's a lot to say about the Corolla, and I just can't wait! I love everything about it. The gearing system takes a little getting used to. People say that it has weak horsepower, but you just have to know how to use it. 3500+ rpm's seems to be the new "2500" that you would normally shift at. Obviously because it's brand new I haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. I do plan on writing reviews on it the longer I have it.

Bought both the 2014 Civic and the 2014 Corolla about the same time. The Corolla interior was re-designed and that was the main reason I chose it. Inside it feels much more solid than the Civic, both have the same Eco and leather trim with power seats. Mileage is at least 3 more mpg than the Civic, at highway it gets an easy 40 mpg with the A/C on. Toyota has a two year free service included which Honda lacks, big plus. Also its free traffic information screen is better than the Civic, including traffic accidents on the traveled road along with the weather. Around town it gets 34mpg with no problem, the Civic 31.

So far, this has been a great vehicle! I've only had it a week but noticed gas mileage has actually been better than what's advertised on the sticker. I am averaging 30mpg combined and 40mpg average on the interstate and sometimes it goes even higher according to the gauge. I haven't seen anything below 30mpg, even in stop and go. Note that ,on the gauge, the number is the average mpg, where as, the slider is the actual mpg. This is my first Toyota lease experience and the whole thing has been great. I opted for the sport because it seemed the best value, vs options and it comes in the gray color I like. I think this is going to be the start of a great relationship.

This is my 4th Toyota and it is just what I would expect from the brand. Pros: Well equipped for price, nice ride, quiet interior, great style inside and out (never thought I would be able to say that one about a Corolla), average about 38. I don't know what folks are talking about when they say it gets bad gas milage - they must either have a lead foot or are using really cheap gas. Cons: rear hip room could be better if you have to cart 5 people around more often I would go with the Camry but 4 sit very comfortably in this car. A little under powered, buy if you are looking for more power than you likely are not shopping for a compact sedan.

The weight was too light for safe driving in any road conditions, consistently hydroplaned in the rain and had to fight it to drive straight while passing another vehicle. The power is extremely poor and the interior looked mixed together. The only good thing was the exterior appearance and I even found that lacking. The ride quality was very poor too, had to get out of the car after thirty minutes to stretch because the seats lacked poor support.

My first Corolla and really like it so far

I traded in a Chevrolet Sonic for this and my fiance and I share this car. I have the "no regrets" model with the Entune system with navigation, moonroof, and keyless ignition. I've only had it a few weeks but I can definitely say I like it. What attracted me to the car in the first place is the huge number of features for the money. I also wanted a car with a CVT if I had to have an automatic. Fit and finish are excellent and above what I expected for the price. The interior is comfortable and surprisingly spacious and attractive. My fiance and I both enjoy driving it very much. It also looks great, especially in slate gray, which I thought I'd never say about a Corolla.

Overall I rate my car a 5. If you read auto magazines they rate the cars on performance mostly. The Corolla is not a sports car , don`t judge it that way. What it is , is a very dependable car. It has very good gas mileage. Since my last odo reset I am at a 38.5 mpg average over 2000 miles . Over the winter I had a 32 mpg average. Cars use more gas running cold. very comfortable ride and seats. If you look at the mpg ratings the Corolla does better than most cars that are smaller than it.Love the look of the dash , all the other cars basically look the same dash . It is very similar to the Avalon dash. Also rear seats have more room than the bigger Chrysler 200. My brother who owns a Ford Edge rode back their one day and was very surprised at the room. The absolute only minor negative comment is that it could use more sound deadening, rode noise is a little more than I like. It`s not bad , but could be better.Still think the Corolla is a fine car and has had no trouble or issues now with 29k miles.

My 06' was better on gas!!!!

Nice car! Love the redesign (Inside & out)! Not as peppy as my 2006 S. Planned on driving my 06 for 5 more years as was so dependable, but totaled it so needed a new car. I chose the S Plus due to the disc brakes all the way around. Purchased with the convenience package. Love the XM and blue tooth which I didn't have before. With that said, I am so DISAPPOINTED with the gas mileage. My 06 got 33 MPG consistently. This car barely gets 29 MPG. They advertise as 35 MPG which is NOT true. But it's still a nice car. As far as reliability, that remains to be seen. Oh yea, I put 5,000 miles on it so far, and still can't get rid of the epoxy smells when I accelerate. Seems to come thru the vents.

Great car!

Pros: Comfortable, fuel efficient, roomy for a compact car, quiet, LED headlights are great, Entune system is easy to use/has good sound quality, back up camera, visibility, automatic climate control. Cons: Sun visor is short and does not telescope, CVT transmission is a little sluggish from a stop due to somewhat high starting ratio, not very sporty handling. I am 5'11" and I can comfortably sit in the rear seat behind where I place the driver seat. I am getting mileage slightly better than advertised on my LE. The car rides nice. Five adults for short trips only as the back seat is narrow. People over 6' will have little headroom in the rear seat.

Someone told a big lie about the gas mileage on this car - it is terrible. I had a 91 volvo and was paying the exact amount for gas without the car payment. If gas mileage is a concern... go with a hybrid... this is absolutely not your car

I recently purchased a 2014 Toyota Corolla. I really like the car, except for 2 concerns: 1. the average mile/gallon on the sticker (highway & local) is inflated. I've checked the web and apparently there is no federal oversight to ensure the correct mileage is posted. 2. the car has 2 plastic "rods" that are on both sides of the car (vertically) clipped to the under-carriage. Last winter during the snow, I was driving out of an icy spot an to my surprise, there was a long gray plastic rod on the road. It was from my new car. I have submitted a complaint to Toyota...poor quality and engineering. Maybe they'll recall and fix this issue.

I traded in my Ford Focus for a Corolla and I have to say that I absolutely love it! It is smooth, quiet and has a great audio system PLUS a backup camera! You get so much for your money with this car. I don't have any problems with the horsepower, but then again I don't race from stop lights or anything like that. This is a great far for young people and also if you want a car with the most bang for your buck you'll want to check it out!

This is an addition to my previous review. If you're looking for a sports car the 6-speed might not fit. Passing with the 6 speed can be a bit challenging, although its still capable. At 55 mph in 6th gear drop it into 4th and punch it to moderately pass on the open road. Do not challenge on coming traffic, give yourself room. When shifting from 5th into 6th ride the shifter to the far right as to not accidentally drop it back into 4th. A sloppy shift may end up going from 5th back to 4th. Also mind going from 4th to 5th as to not accidentally drop into 3rd. This advice applies to folks whom are new to driving manual transmissions, seasoned folks will not find this problem.

I needed a commuter car to drive almost 100 miles a day back and forth to work. I also own a 2014 Corvette Stingray and a 2013 BMW M3 Coupe and wanted to keep the miles off them. I have driven the Corolla about 1,500 miles and really like it. The rear leg room is great and I have been averaging 34 MPG. I really like the exterior styling of the car and the interior looks like it belongs in a much more expensive car. I opted for the S Plus as it adds a lot of features for very little money. This is a great commuter car but do not expect great performance or an exciting ride. If you want something that is comfortable, looks nice, drives nice and gets great MPG then this is the car for you.

It's been about two months now since I purchased my 2014 Corolla LE ECO Plus. It's a nice budget car that has a stylish design. It is great on fuel economy for non-hybrid car. I spend about $10-$15 less compared to my previous car per month in gas. Although there is one issue that has me scratching my head. About a week ago, the engine did a "barf" to sort of speak. The engine somewhat stalled when I tried to start it. Once I got it started, put it in gear and then it would stall again. I brought the car to the dealer and they said there was a computer software failure that caused the problem. Really?!?

Purchased brand new in Charleston SC for $15,600. On flat roads at 60mph I am getting 44 mpg, I average 40 mpg going from work to home. I drive 40 miles one way and its half city half highway driving. Car is smooth and quiet, transmission is easy and smooth to shift. Engine is very quiet, its not a hotrod but picks up and goes rather nice. I had cruise control installed after market for $399 (manual trans does not offer cruise) and it works great, back seat has plenty of room for my infant and toddler rear facing car seats, trunk is roomy, 6th gear offers low RPM on highway speeds 60-70 mph is 1800-2500 rpm roughly. center console is comfortable as arm rest while driving, clutch feels smooth

I bought this car after looking at many options from: KIA, Hyundai, and Honda. I decided to go with the Corolla Eco Plus, because it seemed like the most bang for my buck. And I was right, first of all the new Corolla design is very sleek and roomy inside. Furthermore, I got this car of the MPG which is an estimated 42 MPG highway. Which I was a little skeptical about to be honest. Since that seems to be the problem many other cars and the estimated MPG. However, this is not the case with the Corolla Eco. I recently went on a 60 Mile pure highway trip, and I was extremely impressed with the MPG which was 50 MPG! I couldn't believe it. I hope this stays true for the life of the car.

I chose the Corolla over the 2014 Mazda 3. I have about 600 miles on mine now. In most ways, the Mazda is the better car - better handling, more power, better fuel economy, better build quality. But I don't regret my choice. The Corolla has more interior space, better visibility, and better features for less money, comparably equipped. Noise levels are on-par with the Mazda, but could be better (sadly, not close to the Chevy Cruze). The handling is well improved over previous Toyotas I've driven, and the seats are supportive and comfortable. Overall this is an easy, economical car to live with and I quite enjoy it.

This cars is awesome! I'm getting 31 m.p.g. in town and it is not broke in yet! I can tell you that you will be wasting your time on a Honda, Mazda, or Nissan in this group. This Corolla looks sharper and is thousands less with a back up camera. The CVT trans. is really a great invention. I have 6 speeds and you can't feel it shift. In the Sport Mode I can move the shifter over to M and Paddle shift through 6 speeds. I am so impressed with the performance and engineering of this car Im tickled to own it. The interior is well laid out and again is nicer than the other brands. The car feels very solid, go test drive one and you will be signing your name on a contract.

I test drove the Mazda 3, liked it but getting the features I wanted drove the price into the stratosphere. Decided on the Camry SE and went to purchase it. It was just so....blah. Ended up test driving the Corolla S Plus. Did not feel like a compact. Feels roomy inside, big backseat, and fun to drive too. Ended up getting a deal too good to pass up on a fully loaded little red Corolla S Plus w/driver's convenience package. My husband wanted the Camry, but he has come around after driving the Corolla a few times. It is far more fun to drive and has plenty of room for my teenagers who exceed 6 ft tall in the back!

Bought this 2014 Corolla S Plus in Dec 2013., I Traded in a 2010 Corolla S. I have noticed Many improvements over the 2010 Model, I really like the CVT Trans. over the Manual. I had a Manual in the 2010 and I did test the Manual in the 2014. I am very surprised at the superb acceleration of the CVT over the Manual, The Engine revs. high and stays high in the power band through all gears up to 70+ mph. It is quite impressive & fun! Don't waste your time on a Manual, get a manual trans. in a sports car with a V-8 & feel the power there. Do yourself a big favor & Test drive all the Corolla models, you will see a significant difference in Handling and performance when you get to the S & S+

Before purchasing my Corolla I test drove a Hyundai Elantra and the Mazda 3 at the same price point $21,500 . To me the 2014 Corolla has the best quality, features and styling. The dash reminds me of a 1972 Chevelle.... in a good way. I really like the Blue tooth, back up camera Sport seats are really comfortable with lots of adjustments. large sunroof. The S model wheels are awesome! The CVT trans is great on the highway. To me it accelerates strange in the city on hills. The sport mode is fun with shift points. makes it feel pretty fast. Paddle shifters? really? I probably wont use them much.

I had a 2006 Camry SE V6 for eight years. I call my 2014 Corolla LE Premium my "mini-Camry". It's very spacious, has very comfortable seats, excellent handling (firm, but easily controlled) with high end Michelin Primacy 60K tires, very quiet overall (no wind noise), delivers 38 mpg on the high and 34 mpg in town, has excellent visibility, fit and finish. I love the instant/trip average mpg bar chart on the Infotainment Center. Bought it without the normally included moon roof and Entune radio ($2400 extra). Has surprisingly good acceleration; no problem passing anything on the road. Rear view camera is a terrific - should be on every car.

After owning this car for 2 years I got rid of it. I am done with Toyota, the most arrogant car company I ever dealt with. I paid around $ 1,400 for a navigation system which I need on a daily basis and ended up sticking my $ 70,- Garmin into the window because the Toyota system was basically useless. I found out about this within the first week of owning the car and when I explained to Toyota that the GPS took me to places 3 miles away from the actually address, (among other issues like telling me to turn after the intersection where I was supposed to make the turn), the response was "The system is designed like that". The map that was installed in this system was over 15 years old in some areas and when a map update was released, the dealer told me "map updates are not covered under warranty, you have to pay for it. It looks like this is Toyota's standard answer when something is wrong with their products: "It is designed like that, all the other vehicles do the same" What Toyota means is that the customer has to accept any design flaws as long as all the other cars of the same year / model have the same problem. I bought this car to save money on the gas but after all I did not save - the vehicle depreciated about $ 7,000 in 2 years. For that money I could have bought a lot of gas and kept driving my Chrysler van which didn't have any GPS issues.
