This car could pass as a high end Benz or Bentley.....Eye catching beauty. The comfort, quality and that Lexicon sound system makes this car an amazing highway cruiser.

Never had issue with this car.

Bought this car at auction and got at GREAT DEAL on the BASE model, (didn't give the option to change) going on 2 years and still love it. Giving 'bullet points" Great acceleration...I like to drive fast, hugs the curves nicely. Great breaking (I drive 35 miles each way to work on a major highway in rush hour traffic) Good gas mileage (depending on driving conditions...but I drove a '99 Suburban @13 mpg) average about 24 mpg hwy. (17 gallon tank) Stereo is fine...not as good as my '05 Altima or 2000 Infiniti but it does the job. Heated front seats (comfortable) and outside mirrors...awesome. Back seats...not sure..but heard nice ride...heat/ac vents for passengers. Back seats do not fold down...but there is a small pass thru behind the middle arm rest..not sure why people get so upset about this...it's not a truck to haul things. The trunk is smaller than what I am used to (Chrysler 300/Chevy Suburban) but downsizing means just that. Groceries still fit. Console is smaller than what I am used to...but there are 3 usb ports and another (not sure the name but like a cigarette lighter)...oh and there is an ashtray and lighter. Not sure about the phone sync option...I don't use my cell when driving..but it is available...mic is right above my head. No problems with paint, gets washed every week. Oil changes run about $50 every 5000 miles......book says 7500. Uses Regular unleaded gas... My only complaints.... The front floor vents Not the best in snowy conditions....

Okay, I have read some horrible reviews on this car on this website and I can tell you from owning it personally for two years now that some people will complain about absolutely anything for no reason. I have had zero mechanical issues and zero paint issues. The one guy says his paint is "peeling off" - hogwash, unless he poured acid on it. I bought my 2013 Genesis as a brand new car in 2014 (it was the oldest brand new car on the lot) and the paint still shines like new today. The window sticker was over $40k but I practically stole it for $28k out the door. So for those of you that paid full window sticker or something close to it, I am sorry for your misfortune, but you should have shopped more wisely. Also, the guy complained about having to go to the "lowly Hyundai mechanics" instead of going to a high-end shop - well guess what - there was no high end shop when you bought the car and there still isn't up until this day. Although Hyundai has now proclaimed that "Genesis" is going to become their high end brand, building a whole line of new "Genesis only" dealerships and repair shops will take a long time. So the guy who complained about that also said he should have just went out and spent $125k and bought a Porsche Panamera in the first place. Yeah right - I know most people probably cross-shop a near-level luxury car versus a sports car for six figures - that makes total sense! You get my picture here? So, after driving my car for two years, I got exactly what I paid for - a very well appointed, near luxury car with all of the latest (at that point) gadgets. My one real complaint about the car is that even though it is supposed to have 333 horsepower and 330 pound feet of torque, it is quite slow to respond when you put the throttle down. You can almost count one Mississippi, two Mississippi, and then it decides to kick in. This can be a bit unnerving in a passing or emergency situation, but I can only think that the car is programmed that way to save on gas mileage. Otherwise my car is great, quiet, well composed, semi-sporty, holds the road well, is smooth, and gets pretty good gas mileage for a heavier v6 car. That other guy complained of "tons and tons of wind noise" - nonsense. There is a little bit of wind noise, but overall, I hear just a little bit of road/tire noise, but nothing the stereo won't drown out even at low levels. My only other small complaint is that the driver's seat front won't go down as low as I would like. Even with the motorized seat all the way down, the area below my thighs still seems a little too high. I can tilt the back of the seat up a little bit but that is not a perfect solution. So for $28,000 (after the awesome dealer discount), I got a fully loaded near luxury car with all the luxury trimmings that gets good gas mileage and has the longest warranty in the world. As far as comparing this car to actual luxury cars such as similarly sized Mercedes E class, a BMW 5 series, or an Audi A6, good luck trying to get one of those brand new and fully loaded for under $30,000.00. You would be looking at more like $60 to $65k. Heck, even the brand new Hyundai Genesis sedans are in the mid $50's now and it is based off the same underpinnings of my car. Realistically, you can't even get an American near luxury car such as a Chrysler 300, a Buick Lacrosse, or a Ford Taurus fully loaded for less than around $40k. And their warranties are not half as long as mine. I looked at every car out there at the time, and the Genesis sedan at the price I paid was the absolute best brand new car I could find. And I don't hang my head in shame when I go to my local Hyundai dealer; in fact, they are very nice, and know me by name. So I won't be cross-shopping the Porsche Panamera any time soon unless I win the lottery, and I don't think that anybody shopping for a car in the $30k range is going to be looking at anything even close to that either. So just take some of these reviews with a grain of salt. Additionally, if you are in the market for a certified used car, you could probably pick one of these up for half of what they cost new and still get that factory certified Hyundai warranty. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my Genesis. In fact, this is my fourth Hyundai and my other three were very reliable as well.

Nice car but do have some issues and 1 I will soon

If it is wet I have to be care full not to pen trunk all the way or water will run off trunk lid into car.I find my self wiping the bottom of lid if wet when I want to use trunk. I never had a car with this problem.I am finding a discoloration on the rubber below the trunk lid running above the trim like there was a problem when they painted the car.It is a Satin Pearl White that color they no longer make! Has anyone else had these problems ?

I purchased this car about 2 weeks ago, and so far I'm relatively happy with it. The cabin is quiet, and the car is very powerful, making it very fun to drive. However, we recently saw our first glimpse of snow which resulted in a light dusting. Somehow, this incredible car was completely immobilized in a parking lot by a dusting of snow! I was nervous about purchasing a RWD vehicle because of this exact thing, but my fears were assuaged by the salesman and online reviews, all of which suggested that RWD vehicles have come a long way and are no longer a complete liability in bad weather. I still really enjoy driving this vehicle, but wouldn't recommend it for anyone who wants to use it as their primary vehicle where you may see even a little snow or ice.

I purchased this car after looking at BMW, Benz, Audi, and GM. I found this to be the best value. I have had a couple of problems that were taken care. The front and rear bumper had what was described to me by auto body repair technicians was bleed through. A product used to keep the bumper from cracking was turning my white pearl bumper into orange spotted eye sore. They told me that it was fallout and I said "hell no" and they repainted the front and bumper. The arm rest is cracking and I have an appointment on Monday. The rear camera goes blue screen on at least 12 times and they tell me that I have to recreate the problem for their techs (Good luck) in the shop. well, other than those things, I have received many compliments on my Genesis.

DON'T Buy A Genesis Thinking It's a Luxury Car

Don't buy a Genesis thinking it's a luxury car. My car has wind noise, lots and lots of wind noise. Engine sounds funky, although nothing has broken yet. It sounds like it's coming apart. At 15 months, all of my clear coat has peeled off. Of course, not under warranty.... But, the worst thing about this car is that if you buy one, you have to take your "luxury" car into a Hyundai dealership and talk to Hyundai service people for every little thing. And, that, is akin to being treated like a skunk at a wedding. Wind noise: Not their fault. Vibrations: Not their fault. Paint peeling was caused by a "rock chip" even though it started in the back, around the trunk, first. Washing the car removes paint. "Sweet." Part of the reason one purchases an upscale car is for the upscale experience. I own Porsches, Mercedes Benz, Infinity, etc. All are acceptable. Hyundai is like a cattle call. Did I save a few bucks? Yes. But after 15 months of this, I regret not just going down to the local Porsche dealership and dropping 125,000 on a Panamera. Life is too short to suffer with Hyundai and the untrained ruffians who work there. Oh, and in this car, you are either burning up or freezing to death. Climate control is awful. Freezing in winter, heat up, and cold air blows.... somehow......

For the money I don't think you can get a better luxury sedan with regards to price to feature ratio. I got the R-Spec version which comes with just about all available options PLUS 400 Horsepower. Other cars in the same class with similar features that I looked at cost at least $10,000 more. Aside from a few minor annoyances (no display of current climate settings, trunk lid design that lets water flow into trunk when opening) I've been very pleased with the car.

Updating my previous review from August 2013, now have 27k miles on the car. Still have the same opinions as before, it could use a little better handling and maybe brakes that weren't quite as soft, but overall an excellent car. I have had no problems with the car and only have done oil changes and tire rotations, so very low cost to own. I actually average about 23 miles per gallon, but most of my driving is highway. If you can put aside the the lack of name brand, this is an excellent car for the money.

I purchased my Hyundai Genesis from Hyundai of Asheville, NC in Sept. 2013. By the time the dealer made their "add ons" and taxes, I paid a little over $50,000 for this vehicle. It rides and drives like a dream! Since the last part of 2013, I have become disabled by a neurological disorder that came on suddenly. It is becoming harder and harder for me to get in and out of the Genesis because it is low to the ground. My solution would be to trade the Genesis for a Santa Fe Limited, which would make it easier for me to get in and out. I found out that I was horribly upside down due to the Genesis depreciating 62% in 11 months! Stay away from this vehicle!!

Just purchased the car, used, with 27K miles. Have driven about 1500 miles so far. Positives: I do like the looks and the way the Genesis drives - quiet and comfortable, plenty of power. Complaints: Interior pieces break off - AC vent direction knobs came loose and blew out; Gas mileage takes a dive (avg 14) if you accelerate much. You have to be real careful with the acceleration to reach the 18 MPG city advertised low end; I have not driven car long enough to judge the reliability, so gave it a 3 for now, especially since some little plastic interior pieces have broken already.

Having spent ample time in the seat of Mercedes' SL 55 and an AMG 63, I had low expectations of the 5.0 R-Spec Hundai. Uhhhh...WOW, was I wrong. For about 1/3 the cost, the Genesis Sedan is a fantastic luxury muscle car that hangs with the big dollar Europeans. Oh yeah, and for under $40K total, it came with a bumper to bumper 100K mile warranty. The Genesis has so far averaged roughly twice the gas mileage of my two previous Mercedes. Really? a Korean 429 HP luxury sedan that gets 27 MPG? What's not to like? Great price, fast, comfortable, reliable. The Germans had better up their game really soon, because I just bought two of these things, for less than my last European.

So far in 2 weeks here is my review..I love the sound system, very quite inside the cabin, very fast and fun to drive. The ride is jittery on bad roads just like the reviews. On the highway this genesis rides like any luxury vehicle. So the Positives outweight the negitives so far. Im a big guy at 6'1 250 and the drivers seat and position is very comfortable with plenty of head and leg room. I bought this vehicle for 38.3k plus taxes 20% of the msrp.

I brought Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec on (09/07/2013). Within one month (10/04/2013), I noticed that the rubber lining on driver side door which is glued has come off. Very disappointed that such thing happened. I compare it to my 18 year old Honda Civic which has 150,000 miles on it. Honda Civic which is one third the cost of Genesis and 18 years older has all it's liners still intact. I got a reply from their customer support. Surely the reply was not drafted by a person who is in customer support but was by a lawyer because language was not apologetic but it was stating that customer misuse can lead to such problems.

Coming out of my Infiniti G37X lease I wanted to find a nice car that was affordable. Chose the Genesis based on a beautiful exterior design and a great value for the money. I couldn't believe the deal I was able to get on this car. Currently have 7k miles on it, no problems with the car so far. Very luxurious car, fast acceleration, no problems driving at 80-90 miles an hour on the highway and whisper quiet. My only complaint with this car is the handling is not as sporty as I would like but I knew that before I bought the car. I just couldn't bring myself to pay extra for the R-Spec.

I have been looking for some time and with the new transmission, bigger brakes, and updated exterior, I finally decided to buy. Cabernet pearl with tan interior. I bought the base model as I don't need navigation or the 17speaker sound system. This is my "grand kids and golf course" car. Still a bit apprehensive about Hyundai service on a luxury car, but time will tell. Had the 3-M chip film put on the hood/fenders, and got the all weather mats and trunk tray. Recommended by C/R, Phil Edmonds ( Lemon Aid ) and recently got the JD Power award for initial quality ahead of Mercedes, Lexus etc. so that says something. Why don't they sell more??

I've had a lot of comments and inquiries from people once they take a second look at this car.I have the Cabernet Red colour. This has to be Hyundai's best kept secret.Lots of power and that 8 speed transmission shift smoothly. I traded in a CTS and people think I took a leap of faith going to a Hyundai Genesis....it was a good leap. Well styled...nice front end and good looking tail light system...no LED overkill. Update....,as of June 4, 2015.....I had this car leased and turned it back in back in Nov of 2014. Took out a Ford Explorer Limited on a two year lease. Looked at a Hyundai Sante Fey but they only have three year leases

Pearson Hyundai gave me an offer I could not resist. Traded in my 3 years old 4.6 for this black/beige 5.0 last week and took it out for a 600-mile round trip to AC, NJ. Overall, the trip was a bliss. Silky smooth, powerful acceleration and quiet cabin made me feel like on top of the world. If I tried to maintain 2000 RPM or above, as recommended for breaking in the new car, I would be over the allowed limits. The car behaved at 80 mph the same way as it was at 40 mph: solid steering, dampened ride, and reduced wind, road noise. Powerful engine and quiet cabin are the two most important things I was looking for in a car for my long trips. I got both in this beautiful R-spec 5.0.

Excellent Value. New for 2013 Blue Link is great if you are not paranoid about Big Brother. Note you can only download one destination from the internet to your car at a time. Note that the feature rich new Ultimate Navigation is not touch screen like the new Premium navigation. Auto dimming outside mirrors are only available with the V8-R-Spec. I have the Silver with Cashmere interior on my V6. Only a black interior is available with the V8. The V6 uses regular gas and the V8 uses Premium gas. The steering wheel moves up and away when you exit but the seat does not move back like the infiniti/nissan. All seats are heated but only the drivers seat is cooled. Enjoy this Car.
