Too many people have problems with the shift to park signal on the Explorer!! I have always driven a Ford product for the last 40 years. If Ford doesn't do a recall on the shift to park problem then I am moving on!!!

First the computer display screen had to be replaced when we first got car because it was not working. Next car was randomly having dead battery issues, as something was drawing from the battery and running. Took to dealership and they said there was an APIM recall and fixed it. It happen 2 weeks later again. Then they said it was a gear shift issue where it kept recognizing it was in park. Was not a recall or a Ford issue so cost $500 to repair. Had a recall on the doors as well. I find it odd that the same battery issued happened 4 times and this time they said it was due to the gear shift problem.

I've now had my Ex for 7 months and put 30,000km on the car so I figured it was time for a proper review after driving it for more than a few weeks. 2011 Ex Limited AWD bought used with 69,000km on it. Both key fobs stopped working when more than a foot away from the car. Ford is unable to fix the issue. Shaking from front end when accelerating from a stop. Ford can't find the issue. Rust on the inside door panels (car is always spotless). Knocking from suspension when going over speed bumps. Ford can't find the issue. Stereo gets very muddy at higher than normal volume. Hazard light button started ejecting the CD $1300 to replace the complete head unit.

Our 2011 Ford Explorer is a fantastic vehicle that has caused us no problems until now. It started approximately two weeks ago, the vehicle does not recognize when it is in park. When we open the door a dash light comes on telling us to put the car in park. So far it takes just once for us to re-start the car, shift into neutral, then back to park, and the problem is sloved. This happens about 60% of the time. I have read elsewhere that other people are having the same problem and Ford does not recognize it as a problem, at least there has been no recalls. I hate to complain because it has been such a great vehicle for us.

LEMON ALERT!!!!! FORD has the WORST customer service in their repairs! I have a 2011 FORD Explorer that anytime I park for the last 3 weeks, it DOES NOT REGISTER that the car is on PARK and I turn off the ignition and the car chimes "SHIFT TO PARK" It's in park, and it does this repeatedly and I have to press in and out the black lever on the gear shift 10 or more times before it "registers" that the car is on park. I have a video of it on my phone, I took a picture of it when I parked at the dealership and they WILL NOT FIX IT because they can't get it to fault. This is NOT my issue alone, just search the internet for the number of people with this issues that DID NOT get fixed!!!!

We traded in a GMC Yukon XL for a new Explorer XLT. This SUV has better seats, ride and handling. There is a bit more road noise on some surfaces. It is surprisingly good in the snow/ice. Especially given the all season type tires. We have had a few issues with the Sync/My Touch system, but all have resolved with the software upgrades. The engine is good, with fairly good power but you have to rev it to get to the powerband, which seems to be the case with many of the new V-6s these days. Gas mileage is very good for a AWD vehicle. Just returned from a 1500 mile trip and averaged 24 mpg with mostly interstate at 70 mph. Back seats are comfortable.

The 2011 Explorer must have the worst electronics of any vehicle in history. I bought mine in April 2011. After a few weeks, the audio system was a mess. The speakers would cut out intermittently. It eventually got to the point that there was almost no sound on the left side. After a spending nearly a year of regular visits to the dealer, Ford finally replaced the wiring on the left side of the vehicle. but now the left side has muffled sound, and there is an occasional humming sound in the speakers on the right side. Now the dealer refuses to deal with the problem, and customer service at Ford says there is nothing they can do. Last Ford for me.

Swore I would never buy another Ford after the Explorer I bought in 2000 had the transmission go out at 37000 miles and Ford would only cover half the cost even though I had sevice records showing I had been complaining about it from 15000 miles on. If I didn't have those records they weren't going to cover any of it even thought it was only 1000 miles past warranty. But when the new model came out in 2011 I really liked it and since Ford looked like they had a turn-around the past few years I figured they must have improved their quality control and customer service. Wrong again! Not going to go over every problem (just read through these reviews) but this time, never again!

I have had my 2011 For Explorer Limited for 1 1/2 years. So far I have had to have the following replaced: Air-conditioning unit, back up camera, and a couple of modules (whatever those are.No one could explain it to me) and several trip to update the My Ford Touch (Which is completely unreliable) I just got it out of the shop last week and now my air-bag light is on. The earliest Jim Burke Ford in Bakersfield is able to make an appointment for me, is in 10 days! Whenever I have it in the shop, it is there for several days as they seem to have trouble figuring out how to fix it. I have problems with the Ford Touch responding slow. Don't know how much is the car or if it's incompetent service

DO NOT BUY or LEASE THIS CAR!!!!

In May of 2011 I leased a Brand New 2011 Ford Explorer. In July of 2011 I began to have problems with the tire pressure monitor fault sensor. It was going off ever 10 minutes or so every time we drove on a highway. I brought the car into a certified ford dealer to get fixed and 3 days after they fixed it the sensor kept going off again. I had to bring the car in in August and November for the same issue. In March of 2012 my car OVERHEATED!!They had to replace the engine coolant fan.. Yesterday my ford touch screen that controls heat, ac and radio went blank...I have called Ford a few times and they say it does not have enough problems with it to replace the vechile..They are also VERY RUDE!!

We purchased our new 2011 Ford Explorer in March of 2011 because the looks sold my Husband and I. From that moment until November 2011 when we finally got rid of it were those most aggravating months dealing with Ford, Ford Reps and several Ford dealers. The My Ford Touch is a driving disaster and constantly takes yours eyes off the road because it does not work. Our screen froze so many times, and we were left without a/c or heat or radio. This system is the main brain of this vehicle. The voice commands would not operate either. We have been to the dealer for an upgrade, and they keep saying that "This will fix the problem". Also problem with Gas vent hose. Do not buy this vehicle!!

We Love it!

Bought the Ford SUV in Dec. 2010 when we traded in a F150. The looks were pleasing and interior comfortable, the back seats folding down for cargo is a plus! On a very cold day the heated seats are great! At the beginning we had several issues with the phones not connecting, had to take it in several times for help with this issue and software updates. Seems to have cleared up. For those who say their phones don't connect all the time, I found a setting on my BB that fixed that. It says to auto connect instead of prompt and that took care of the problem. I do have problems with the clock changing time but it's not very often. I am happy with it so far.

Ford Explorer 2011 fully loaded, including the My Ford Touch piece of crap. I have read the reviews with comments of Ford is working on it & it's complicated & they are trying to make it more intuitive & easier to use. BS. It doesn't work. IT locks up. When it's 10pm &-10 below out & you're leaving work & it locks up & you have NO HEATED SEATS, NOTHING WORKS WHEN IT LOCKS! & there is no override of any sort. I'll be going back to GMC thanks! Whatever happened to the lemon law & where the hell are all of the media reports on this! I had this vehicle since July & nothing from FORD!

Buyer Beware!!!! I've never written a car review, but I felt compelled after purchasing my 2011 Ford Explorer. Let me start off by stating that I had leased 5 Explorers through my old job prior to purchasing my supposed new and improved 2011 Explorer. What a waste of time and money. I've owned the car for less than 7 months and it's already been in the shop 8 times. Lemon Laws do not apply because I've had 5 different problems and did not have the same problem more than 4 times until I had already driven over 12,000 miles. Do not buy this car until they work out all of the "kinks."

Seats are beyond comfortable. Love the back up feature for parallel parking. The navagation system was recently updated by the Ford dealer so I don't have problems with the clock or temperature reading anymore. I can fit 6 teenagers comfortably. Noticed a tapping sound on the "A" pillar (on the passenger side). Having it replaced on warranty as it's broken. Otherwise, I've been very pleased with our purchase. This is my 2nd Ford Explorer as well.

I purchased my 2011 Ford Explorer this past summer and I love the look of it but as far as issues that's all I seem to have with it. Since day 1 I've had wind noise in my windshield and it may been on one side one day and on the other the next. I've had it in to 2 different Ford dealers which total 5 times plus I went into another dealer and they had no idea what's causing it as well. I've had everything possible changed including the entire windshield and it's still making noise but not constantly. Now it's back in the Ford shop for the windshield noise, my transmission also is not shifting correctly, a noise in my speedometer, and my MFT Navigation screen went blank the other day.

My 2011 Limited has 10,000 miles on it. So far, so good mechanically......kind of scared though looking at some other problems with overheating. Yes, the My Touch/Sync issue hit me too....had it back to dealer 3x times, supposedly fixed it but after getting it home, they wiped off by Nav and all phone functions...have no idea how the dealer released it, but the system is so sophisicated the dealers really do not know what to do about it unless Ford sends them software update. Finally, seems like last update in October, 2011 has worked. Rear hatch misaligned slightly at factory, not sure how that passed QC. Love the ride and tows a 3600 lb trailer fine.

I'm about to contact a lawyer about my 2011 Explorer Limited Lemon. I just spoke with a customer service manager at ford for my dealers district and was basically told tuff cookies! The MFT ( I can think of another word for the F instead of Ford) is junk. Goes black all the time and takes out the phone, stereo, nav, and climate controls. On a 100 degree day the MFT decided to turn on the heat and defrost full blast and there was no changing it until the car was off for awhile, nice. Ford said there might be an update fix in the first quarter of 2012. Might? might? great!

I got my 2011 Explorer in June. So far so good. My car is loaded. The only features I don't have on it are the sun roof and the engine upgrade for the class III hitch. In '05 I traded in my Durango (best car I EVER owned) and got a Pilot after ruling out the '05 Explorer. I HATED the Pilot. The Pilot was fairly reliable but it was BORING. Plus going from a V8 to a V6 was a real drop at the time. So when I heard the new Durango was out for '11 I tried it. It was awful. So, I went next door to the Ford dealer and tried the '11 Explorer and liked it a lot. Wish the Explorer was based on a pickup, not a car, and wish it came with a V8 option. The V6, even upgraded, is NOT the same as a V8

We purchased our first ever ford vehicle. 3 days later it was in the shop for a computer failure. One week later we got it back. So far 7000 miles later we haven't had any more problems. My ford touch wasn't a well thought out plan. I think Ford released it during the devolpment stage. The road noise is bad, I have a 2004 Dodge 2500 diesel that has less road noise that this thing.

I purchased the new 2011 Explorer after retiring my 1993 Explorer XLT after 18 years and 200K miles. The 93 Explorer was the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned so I figured I would buy another one. The new Explorer has more power, better gas mileage, more seating, more tech toys, better ride and handling, etc. What's not to love? After 6 months and 5K miles, the only item that required adjustment was the alarm. It would go off if a loud truck or motorcycle went by while parked. The dealer adjusted that when they did the first oil change and all is well. I can only hope this Explorer lasts as long and is as reliable as our beloved 1993 model.

We picked up our 2011 Ford Explorer Limited about 3 months ago. I have never owned a vehicle with this many problems. It is in the dealer service department more often then it is at home. It is in my opinion a nice looking vehicle but that is the only thing it has going for it. We have had issues with the sync system, most of the features will quit working at some time. The radio will come on and off, the rain sensing wipers will turn on and off for no reason. The cruise control speeds up and slows down. The windshield has been replaced and the side mouldings twice now because of a whistling noise and the problem persists. The front axle seals have been replaced because they leaked.

Bought my Explorer in April to replace our 2008 Toyota Highlander. The Explorer is a major upgrade. We have driven over 10,000 miles including an across country trip this summer. The Explorer is much nicer to drive than the Toyota. Much better handling, and the manual mode on the transmission was great driving through mountains. Gas mileage is generally 19-20 mpg in our normal mixed driving. But we were getting up to 27 mpg on our vacation. We have not had any mechanical problems - perfect for my family of 5.

My Synch never worked properly from day 1. The phone constantly froze up which brought the whole system down...the phone, radio, navigation. The dealer told her it was not compatible with her phone....a one year old Blackberry? She went out bought a new I-Phone and had the dealer program it. Same problems. Now they say it was a software problem. Replaced/upgraded software and the problems continued. It is a dangerous situation caused by the distractions of the malfunctioning My Synch. The voice activiation never gets the commands or the names right, so it might as well not even exist. Last week vehicle caught fire due to defective valve. Never want to see car again

As background, I have owned 5 ford explorers and loved 4 of them. My 2011 is pathetic. The problem is not with the car but with my touch. It simply does not work. It crashes all the time. Ford is withholding information about the problem and there is no real hope of a solution until late in 2012 when Microsoft does a complete rewrite of the system for ford. Do not even think about buying any ford with this system until this is proven to be fixes.

Worthy of Luxury - Not your typical SUV

The Explorer is outfitted with an incredible ride and a spacious interior marked with quality components. The electronics seem overwhelming at first with MYFORD TOUCH, but it is well worth it. The programing and ease of use is excellent, although I would not have said this on my first ride home from the dealership. Too much to play with it . . . .but functional. The SYNC system works efficiently and is a great feature.

The exterior looks and ride are the only positive things about this vehicle. There are too many issues including, electronic/software issues, driver comfort, my sync/my touch, etc. The seat bottom is to short and foot rest is to close. I'm 6ft and the driver position is not comfortable. My phone only connects about 50% of time. I have no idea why it won't connect the other 50%. I do nothing different other than shut the vehicle off and start it again. The NAV lady only talks about 10% of the time. The music stops when she should talk but nothing comes out and the music starts again. None of the sales people mentined this vehicle is for on road use only - 20" wheels std on Ltd.

this is HORRIBLE. the exterior is awesome but that is all you get. Too many blind spots...if we didn't have the back up camera we would have been in numerous accidents. the sync system sucks..blacksout/ resets/reboost itself out of now where. you definately need someone with you to operate any radio/ac controls or you will crash the car. it is worse then people trying to text while driving. major safety issues. our trunk door is attached improperly. has been in shop 3 times for sync system and the dealers have no idea how to fix. I get car sick everytime I sit in rear seats. 3rd row makes you feel like you are in a closet. recommend you place car seats and entire family in for test dr

Less that 5k miles and I have had problems with overheating and air conditioning. Both were resolved by dealer. MyTouch is problematic to say the least. Being computer savvy, I could not get the "upgrades" to install. Took it to my dealer and they had the same issues. The website is as useless as I have seen. Bluetooth phone adapter is no where near as good as the one I had in my F150. Everyone complains that they can't hear me...even though its the same phone as before!

First, congrats to Ford for "not one dime!" As a taxpayer, I appreciate it; hence, my recent purchase. I've had my 2011 Explorer about 2 weeks and it has lived up to my expectations: - smooth, controlled drive - responsive handling - secure turns (sticks to the road, not top-heavy) - upscale, roomy & very comfortable interior - high-tech, hands-free MFT is a delight - sleek, sporty exterior w/classy dual-panel moonroof - great MPG for its class (17 city) - offers about every perk you can imagine - favorite feature: "bootie cooler"! (A/C seat) Transitioning from a GMC Suburban to the lighter, more agile and advanced Explorer has been a treat. My family recommends it to all!

Love it

I just love my SUV. I find it fun to drive (I must I have I've had it since third week in January 2011 and I already have 10,000 miles on it. I love the interior, the ride, the room. I only wish I had the back up camera. This is my 4th Ford I have owned, Tarsus, T-Bird and Areostar and by far the best. Would recommend it to everyone.

First, I've been a loyal Ford owner for 30 years now. My last Ford was an Expedition. We had no problems with the SUV and put about 120k miles on it. Needless to say, with the current performace of my 2011 Explorer, this will be the last Ford I own. That being said, here are the issues: 1) Transmission slips in first-I almost plowed through the back of the garage last week. 2) Overheating 3) Sync system: a) Bluetooth errors b) Nav slow to react c) system reboots when driving d) radio stays on after car is turned off e) time is wrong f) destination history is wiped out 4) Right rear window is loose..how that got past quality control is beyond me. 5) dashboard noise update to come...

Exterior very nice, all downhill from there. Car is very under-powered, getting worse gas mileage than expected and the Sync system is aweful. Been to the dealer a few times about it already. The system crashes, freezes and cannot tell time. Dealer told me to go to website. The website is worse then the system itself, poor insutrctions and the guy on the chat service says you have to bring it to the dealer! Dealer says go on web! How do I return this car?

I loved my 2011 Ford Explorer Limited until after one month of driving it when the problems started. My Ford Touch screen malfunctioning: SD Nav card error, screen freezing or blacking out, controls not working. Had to be reset twice so far. Next, the "electronical component in the fan" went and the vehicle overheated significantly dumping antifreeze all over. That was replaced but what major permanent damage did that cause? Last week I noticed I have a tapping, banging, knocking sound from the engine. Ford knows about it, working on a fix but ok to keep driving as per the dealer. Today I noticed oil leaking from the engine. I'm frustrated, upset and fed up.

The all new 2011 Ford Explorer could be Ford's best vehicle yet. It drives so well like floating on air with decent pep for a little larger than midsized SUV. The interior is upgraded with luxuries usually found in luxury brands. I absolutely love this vehicle BUT, its been in the shop twice already and it would be 3 times if I could have made the time to take it in. The MySync system and the cooling fan so far. Only 1500 miles and things keep breaking. I had my previous car for 3 years without an issue. It has been extremely frustrating. I love what it could be - if it was only realiable.

Now I have AC and Radio but no Navigation and the 2nd row controls don't work. 2 weeks old, 500 miles on it and 320 of the miles have been back and forth to dealer. All this after waiting three monthes to hear I could not get Tuxedo Black paint. What a mistake. Too bad because the new design is appealing and the run in nice.

We've had our 2011 Explorer for about two months now. From the start we had multiple issues with the MySync system. As I write this review, the Explorer is yet again in the dealer for repair. We've already had to take it back three times. This time the car over heated due to a cooling fan that shorted out. Making the issue worse, though, was the fact that after the car over heated, the MySync system crashed. We've had two updates to the software and we are still experiencing issues with the phone, climate, navigation and audio. We had iSync in our previous 2008 Edge (IT WORKED FLAWLESSLY). Somebody rushed MySync out the door. It's ruining the other outstanding features of this SUV!

I recently purchased the 2011 Ford Explorer, which to date has been a marvelous vehicle, with the exception of the on board computer screen. There is a software problem that Ford currently does not have a fix for (according to my dealer). Hence, the onboard screen shows a black screen "SYNC by Microsoft" for much of my driving pleasure. This locks up all the functions of the screen including the navigation system, Heating and Cooling, Entertainment and Phone. It also locks up (for some of the time) the reverse camera, which is a liability because one cannot see anything under 4 feet when reversing.

First American car we've owned since 1978 and I can't tell you how impressed I am. Traded in a 2011 Lexus RX 350 (yes, you read that correctly). The cargo space in this vehicle is not only more than adequate, the power-folding rear seats make it configurable for any load...groceries, golf, vacations, etc. As a retired geek from the computing industry, I have to hand it to Ford (or maybe Microsoft) for the SYNC MyFord Touch system. This is hands-down the best navigation and bluetooth device integrated system available on any vehicle or car. The ride and comfort will truly amaze you. It sits high like a truck frame SUV although it's now a crossover, so you also get car ride comfort.

The 2011 Explorer took 51/2 months to arrive but so far, it was worth the wait. The interior is pure luxury and the exterior is upscale . The ride is totally unlike my 2001 Explorer-quieter, smoother and more stable. The My Ford Sync and My Touch systems take time on the road to master and I agree that the touch screen's graphics and text size are too small. The Navigation system is a bit crazy; it seems to want to take you off a direct route onto a business route as you pass small towns. We received good rebates from the dealer. Apparently Ford does not keep their dealers apprised of production/delivery info as my dealer could not explain the delay in delivery.

We ordered our XLT in January, and took delivery in early March. We have 5k miles on it now, and are very happy with it. The quality and comfort is much, much better than any Ford we have owned previously. Interior sound levels are wonderfully quiet, and ride is firm but comfortable. Stability is much better than previous explorer models. Seats are very comfortable -- even on long road trips. Rear seats (both rows) fold completely flat, which is perfect for loading cargo or hauling the family dog pack. The standard V6 has ample power, and we still get over 22 mpg with mostly highway driving. Good job, Ford!

We bought this car to replace an aging Suburban, and to downsize. We looked at the BMW X5, GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, Ford Edge. When we were at the Ford dealer we saw a good-looking SUV we didn't recognize, and when we walked up to it realized it was an Explorer. To us the car has European styling, except for the over-sized cowling on the front end which is definitely American. The engine acceleration is adequate, but won't blow you away. We kind of miss the more powerful feeling you get with most GM SUV power-trains.

Explorer is now a tech lovers car, I find more things in it than all of the others combined. The ride quality is comfortable and you really don't feel like you are driving a big vehicle. I've always driven toyota/honda my life and this is the first time with Ford (or any American)Was in the market for a larger SUV. Wanted to check out Edge because I liked ints interior. After looking, we were talking about how cool it would be to have a car like toyota highlander with the interior of ford edge. Funny we found explorer the next day, its exactly that!

This is a follow on to the computer network problem. The week after the "soldered job" on the network wiring the cooling fan on left side of radiator makes a grinding noise as it spins down. Had to wait for new fan, on back order. Told it's OK to drive. 2 days later the fan locks-up and is very close to catching on fire. Smell the wiring starting to cook. They replaced the fan and 2 weeks later the replacement is having the same problem. This time they recommended I leave the car till it's fixed. Amazing. Anyone else having the cooling fan or network problem??

This is the best Explorer ever!! I spent 16 years working at a Ford Dealership and have had several Explorers as demos. This is GREAT vehicle. The fit and finish is outstanding, a well thought out vehicle. It will take you a couple of weeks to understand the dept of the options and how they work, I'm still learning. The handling is great for a SUV. We also have a Lincoln MKX and we love it, but the Explorer suspension is superior!! I have a Limited loaded. The only thing I wish they offered is the 3.5 SHO turbo motor. It is offered in the Flex and the Taurus, it could use more touque off the line. I guess it will happen as a sport model in a couple of years. Geart Job Ford!!

Purchased a Ford Explorer Limited, fully loaded today. We love it! It's a new car and a fun gagdet in one. We have owned luxury vehicles (BMW X5), (Mercedes SUV) and this ranks right up there with them. My husband and I test drove fully loaded vehicles (Dodge Durango, GMC Acadia, Toyota 4 Runner, Honda Pilot, and Ford Explorer). Our decision was a no brainer. Here's what I love about the Explorer: Beautiful interior with tight seams, high quality leather, non pilling roof interior (similar to what you find in the BMWs), a touch screen (similar to an IPad) that plays DVDs, controls Entertainment, Phone, Navigation, Climate, etc. Your I-Phone syncs with it. It will store all your contacts.

Jury still out with the tires. For some reason I'm not crazy over them, mabe that's because I had a flat after only one week. Big nail right in middle of tire. From a 2011 Honda Pilot (poor ride and noise) to the 2011 Explorer. The Explorer ride and low road noise is more then on par with the Acura MDX. Fit and finish are excellent. Unfortunately, the quality is not. The computer network that controls the intelligent all wheel drive and the advanced traction control is faulty. The car loses its stability and steering becomes hard. Not good. 3 week old and 1500 miles the car is back at the dealer. Told they must bypass a wiring harness and solder the connection. I hope this is a temporary fix. For such a safety related system a soldered wiring connect does not inspire confidence in Ford's design.

Our 2011 Explorer Limited is already in the shop with less than 1,000 miles on it. The entire MyTouch system that controls the climate control, stereo system, bluetooth, navigation and rear back up camera crashed. This is our second explorer and we also have an F-150 and I am very disappointed with the 2011 Explorer. The gas mileage improvements are not true. The best mileage I have been able to get is 16 mpg on the highway. The car does not have the power I expected and the 'luxury' features of the Ford MyTouch were not worth the 50K price tag, especially since they don't work. I wish I had Mid-Sized SUV from another company!

After driving my new Explorer Limited for over a month, I can safely say that it is one of the best cars that I have owned. It is comfortable and has more muscle than my Flex that stayed in the family although out of town. The Ford Touch takes a little getting used to but is very responsive to voice commands. We also have a new E 350 in the garage, but is has stayed parked since the Explorer showed up. The only con, we can find is the difficulty in programming the garage door opener.

A happy owner of Ford F-Series pick-ups for decade. Wife wanted an Explorer after driving a Buick Enclave for 3 yrs. & for a change. We like Ford trucks, but never keen on any brand car other than GM's. The Buick gave us a flawless driving experience, but have been so happy with our Ford pick-ups that we looked at the Edge, which is rather small, Flex, rather quirky & looks like a hearse, Expedition, too big and wanted another car-like crossover that would be better on gas than our other vehicle, my King Ranch, a good truck, but terrible on gas. The '11 Explorer is mediocre & costly compared to the Enclave. We will hold on to this car for a year & see how it does. It may grow on us in time.

Trust me, my other half has a BMW and we do not even want to drive that anymore. So far the only issue i do have is with the phone/SYNC. It keeps pulling up my text msgs as new and beeps for them as they are new msgs. Other then that everything else is crazy in it. Safety features galore and it feels like it is a 50k plus truck.

This is an update on my 2011 ford explorer that I originally posted on 12/24/10. No after having the vehicle for 4 weeks and almost 2000 miles I feel everyone should know about the many bugs in the ford mytouch system. This feature is definitely not what Ford has advertised. The clock is constantly wrong on the display, when starting the vehicle the volume goes crazy and very high/loud. Also, many issues with syncing phone via bluetooth. Often the screen will freeze up when trying to connect my phone...and the problem is not with the phone because same issue occurs with other phones. When driving vehicle screen will sometimes simply "black out". Taking vehicle to dealer tomorrow.

I am a retired automobile sale rep. (30 yrs) Have sold and driven them all. Previously owned a 2009 Ford Flex Limited. Love it, would have purchased another, but found that Ford was going to discontinue it. Read up on the 2011 Ford Explorer, liked what I read and saw. pre-ordered a loaded Xlt in October. My dealer finally got one in the showroom a few weeks ago, drove it, exceeded my expectations. Just received the VIN on my order, anxiously awaiting delivery. After selling and owning many imports, I am convinced that Ford quality and reliability is equal, if not better than most. I say try it, you'll like it!

After driving the new Explorer Limited Edition 600 miles, we are impressed by the features, smooth ride, and new body style. The MySync features are outstanding. This is definitely going to be a great seller for Ford!
