This is a really neat car that does an above average job of being an OKAY car. I purchased my 2010 Sport Auto about 18 months ago and I'm starting to tire of it. Its not that this is a bad car, its not, its just that if you enjoy driving. I would suggest you look elsewhere. It also doesn't really have any frills. This car is never one that you would think is any nicer than a basic car should be. Its not upscale and its not trying to be, but it is very nice the way that it is. In the end I'm left with wanting more.

Bought a week ago used with 19,000 miles and ready to get rid of it already. If it rode better I would be happy with it but I honestly have never driven such a rough riding car. I had a geo metro hatchback 10 years ago that was way more comfortable. I have had older civics, accords, mazda protege, acura integras, old broncos. All rode better. It is truly ridiculous how bad it rides.

I purchased my fit in Feb. 2011, in the dead of winter here in VT. I used to drive a Chevy Colorado, and thought that I might be making a huge mistake downsizing to a petite FWD scooter, such as this. Boy, was I wrong! I tried to purchase every other make of similar car, and every time I came back to the Fit. In fact, I had a cashier's check in my pocket to purchase a Volvo C-30, and I've never regretted the decision to buy the Fit. Of course, I have never had a problem with the Fit. Acceleration and handling are good. I didn't expect a Ferrari, & I am happy with the Fit's perky attitude.

I purchased the Fit after my beloved Jeep Wrangler developed Death Wobble and I sunk over $1000 into repairs that did not work. I needed something practical, for a change, but I hated giving up the incredible fun of a Jeep. Ten months later I have no regrets at all. We have a blue model that we call the TARDIS because it really is impossibly larger inside than outside. My 3 children and 6' tall husband all fit comfortably, although I haven't tried to put 3 adults in the back. Mileage with mostly big city driving is consistently 30 MPG, and on a mostly highway trip was 48 MPG.

I had a 2007 and traded it to buy a 2009 GTi. The Gti was reliable and a very fun car to own . But its achilles heel was ultimately its high cost to maintain, and the GTi was good at emptying my wallet. Premium was all it was ever fed, and with gas the way it is, 60 dollar tanks were regular. i picked this up for a great price (brand new, in 2011) and it has proven to be a far improved car than its predecessor. I was afraid of loosing my Gti's highspeed stability, and overall feeling of solidity, but the fit, given the difference in weight and how tall it is, makes a good case for itself. it may be slower, but its tossability makes it more fun to drive. And now my wallet is more full :)

All, although I love my 2010 Fit Sport, there is a serious issue with tire selection, particularly for those that live in snowy areas. Because of all the snow and ice in Maine this year, I decided that I should remove the Dunlop OEM tires, put on higher quality all-season radials. Other than the Dunlop, which is backordered in many cases, a Honda Fit Sport owner only has two options in the 185 55R 16 size: Bridgestone Turanzo El 470 ($140 a tire) or a Bridgestone Potenza ($100 a tire). Neither tire is rated well in wintry conditions. I inquire about snow tires in this size; nobody manufactures them. I asked my dealership if I could put on a different size tire, and they did not recommend it. Neither did they recommend a difference size rim. Please call Honda at (800) 999-1009 to voice your concern about tire selection for the Honda Fit Sport!

We wanted a roomy, high quality, low cost vehicle, and this is exactly what Honda delivered. I've owned a muscle car, a Vette and the VTEC, and I have to put this little guy up there with them for performance and handling, especially when passing. I did a cross-country trip in it, and actually slept two nights in it at rest stops. It's a small car...likely not as comfortable as our 1996 Explorer...but 14 hour days on the road worked...and the mileage clocked in at 35mpg. Like any Honda, I expect to drive this one for 800,000...and then bequeath it to my heirs in 20 years.

I had a head-on accident with a large truck doing 35 to 40 MPH in my 2009 Honda Fit. I came out of the accident with only bruising from the seat belts, and a cracked sternum (breastbone). The air bags worked the way they were supposed to. Family members who saw the actual damage and a friend who saw pics of the car damage are amazed I was not killed in the accident. I am now looking for another Honda Fit. I strongly recommend it for safety, as well as all other categories.

I've owned the Fit for over three months and 3200 miles. Averaged 38.8 mpg by the computer and my records. It is as much fun as a 60's MG or Triumph. Previous car was a BMW X-3 and this is more fun and I've discovered I don't need the automatic air, fancy stuff and most of all, high cost. I love the car because it is fun and frugal and since mine is 5- speed and Milano Red, everyone breaks their neck looking at it.

Bought this car about 2 months ago, and love it! The fuel economy is better than advertised. I've been getting 33 mpg on a regular basis. There is slight handling issue at higher speeds in traffic, but overall a great little car. Surprising amount of cargo capacity for its size.

Bought this car straight from the boat-with 6 miles. The 6 months were fine but since, it's been a rattling, oil leaking piece of junk. I have had to take it in to have it looked at for rattling once and have to take it back again. At 60 mph, it rattles and whines. The Fit is the cheapest car in the Honda line-up and it shows. It's cheap. I can't wait to be rid of it.

Just bought a Honda Fit Sport 2010 after months of research. I love my new car, great price, and financing. It is super fun to zip around town in and looks so sporty. Gas mileage on the way home from the purchase was over 35 miles per gallon. I commute a total of 50 miles a day and usually have over 1/4 tank left over at the end of the week. My only complaint is that I have nowhere to rest my elbow while driving. The door arm rest is too low and the little driver side arm rest is too short. It's awkward to find a comfortable driving position. I had to buy my own Honda floor mats as they refused to throw them in on the deal.

Needed a small versatile car with good fuel economy. Considered Prius but could not justify additional cost given low annual mileage. Also wanted car with large doors and easy to get in and out. Looked at Ford fiesta. But build quality and costs drove decision to Honda fit. Toyota Yaris cute but no 5 door. So far really happy with the fit.

The car is adorable and I love the roomy inside. The magic seat configurations are ingenious. I love the huge panoramic windshield. Although some have complained about the seats, it seems to work for my 5'2" frame. So far, no problems accelerating or braking. MPG is all that was advertised, as I get 36-37 mpg with a mix of mostly highway and some city driving. Shifting with the 5 speed manual transmission is surprisingly smooth, although the clutch could be firmer. I wish VSA, steering wheel controls and bluetooth were available without Nav. I didn't like having to pay extra for a cargo cover. Also, 10 cup holders seems excessive and their placement is not helpful.

We bought my '10 Fit in Dec 2009 and after having it for less than a year I regret this decision. While it does get phenomenal gas mileage (36 mpg avg) it has become very uncomfortable to drive. I bought a flat, memory foam pillow to add comfort for my back but this has only made the neck pain worse because of lack of support. When I don't use the cushion for my back, my neck is pushed forward at an odd and very uncomfortable angle. Another issue I have with the car are the useless sun visors. Why bother! While the car is cheap to own, I do regret buying because now I'm stuck with it :(

I recently bought a Fit but was so disappointed I sold it. The small 1.5 liter engine had to work really hard, downshifting even on moderate grades, to get around. The gearing on the automatic is really tight on the first three gears giving it a jerky off the line start with lots of quick shifts. The car is tall and lightweight. Going around curves at speed like a freeway on-ramp I felt a slight “roll” in the car which made me uncomfortable. The finish inside the car felt cheap. There’s no doubt this is a low end econo-box from Honda. The finish of their Civic and CR-V is much better. It would probably make a good car for a freeway commuter. I’m more of an in-town driver.

Needed a car for the 5 mile commute to work each day. Replaced a 2001 Accord LX. Husband has 2010 Accord so wanted something different with good mileage and the ability to occasionally haul stuff. Researched the car and it what we expected. Fun to drive and gets the mileage we want. Even a couple of 4-5 hour road trips have been enjoyable.

We were looking for a car for my wife. Her must haves were small car, good mileage, looks good and a good price. We spent a few weeks researching the used car market and the other cars in the same category. Honda Fit Sport came out head and shoulders above the rest. It has great visibility (my wife being only 5.1 loves this), great looks, comes loaded everything we want in the Sport model and gives fantastic mileage (32 city and 36 highway). I was surprised by how well it performs on the highway. I was expecting trouble merging and was thinking its not going to be very comfortable, but I was wrong. I also got a get price ($300 below invoice) by getting a quote from Edmunds.com.

Held off purchase to drive a Fiesta, which left me disappointed after the glowing reviews. I liked the Fit better. A piece of Fiesta trim fell off during my test drive which didn't help my uneasiness of long- term "mexico-built" reliability. I've had good luck with Honda reliability and resale. It's a fun little car, especially with the paddle shifters. Steering is tight and precise. I do mostly in-town driving and it zips around. I love the revvy engine sounds. Carried two of those extra large Costco coolers for a BBQ. People were amazed that my "little" car brought them. Utility really sealed the deal cause I do use the back quite a bit. After 3 months not a single issue. Thumbs up FIT!

I bought the Fit Sport automatic for a commuter car. It is fun to drive, though I've been a bit disappointed with the gas mileage. I'm averaging 29, but at least half of it is highway driving. Pros: Fun to drive Decent "pep" Good handling Fit/finish excellent Small size allows you to park just about anywhere Cons: Underpowered AC - car is a mini solar oven with all the glass and black interior. AC has to stay cranked to cool the car. Poor cup holder placement - ones between gear shift and dash useless. Ones in front of vents need closed in order to keep coffee warm while AC is on. No drivers lumbar adjustment Flimsy trunk panel covering spare - can't hold much weight.

I searched around for a long time at different car models before finally purchasing my Fit. I could not be happy. I live in a dense downtown area so I needed a car that was both small but could haul a lot of stuff. This car seriously has more room on the inside when the seats are folded down then some SUVs my friends own. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design of this vehicle. Visibility is outstanding! The ride is comfortable and no it won't win any speed records but if I wanted that I would buy a sports car. Worth every penny.

I've been driving this car for 2 weeks now. The gas mileage is outstanding, averaging in the low 30s, and I am not having to drive like an old man to achieve it. It begs to be driven lively, and its engine loves to rev. It looks small, but it has tons of space on the inside, and its build quality is so much better than anything else in its price range.

I selected the 5-speed manual as the automatic stole too much power from the engine. The manual offers surprising performance, smooth acceleration, and is averaging a 28-30 MPG around town. Very fun to drive and has good handling for small car. It can be loud at highway speeds due to road noise and high engine RPM. No problems with front seat comfort as others mention I am 6'2". The rear magic seat is amazing. With everything folded down, the fit will swallow an unbelievable amount of cargo, surpassing many small SUVs. Audio system is excellent. Interior design is simple and functional, but does not feel cheap. No other small car can provide so much value and versatility.

A long time Honda owner, I just traded a Ridgeline, and I couldn't be happier. I put a lot of miles on my cars so I needed better fuel mileage. This car gets better than advertised. First tank 40 mpg (1/2 city/hwy). I used the a/c a lot on my second tank and got 37. I drive with a light foot, keep it in sport mode and shift up often, can't help to think what this car's mileage and performance could be w/ a DSG . This car is screwed together well. very tight with no squeaks or rattles. Stereo is nice quality and I got a few things that the Ridgeline didn't offer in 2008, like telescoping steering wheel, fog lights, and daytime running lights. For the price this Honda has a winner here.

The Fit is perfect for city and occasional short trip on the highway. With only 185/55/16 tires and narrow stance it easily gets blown around at highway speeds, the 1.5 liter motor works really hard and noisy just to get up 65 mph highway speeds. It does not like going 75 mph. My sport model lacks a lot of amenities. No floor mats, no door sill protectors, no cargo cover, cheap interior materials, lacks quality materials compared to the civics. Honda really skimp on this bare and basic model car. For the same price, I could have gotten the civic lx 4 door. I really think this sport model with automatic should have an msrp of around 15,000 tops and sold for maybe around 13,000 or so easily

I purchased a 2010 Fit Sport with automatic. Very reliable auto. Great gas mileage (37 MPG). Acceleration not very good but not terrible. Engine tries hard but it is only a 117 HP auto. Holds the road well at 75 MPH. Driver's seat needs more support for comfort. Interior very good and I like the way the back seats fold completely flat.

I have only had my Fit for a week, but on a mix of driving it is getting 37.4 mpg according to the instruments. Tomorrow I will fill it up for the first time and calculate the mpg. My wife has a Fit and over the past two months it has proven to be a fine little vehicle. The Honda attention to detail is really nice, I could not find an assembly flaw. The electric power steering will take some getting use to, but I enjoy driving the car. The Honda dealer was a joy after many bad car dealers I have experienced. The instruments say it is getting 50 mpg at 50 mph and 40 mpg at 60 mph. Really amazing and much better than I would have expected before seeing how my wife's was.

I just wanted to say that my Honda fit has been amazing. I use it for delivering pizza at night. I'm currently getting 33 MPG in all in town deliveries. with great performance with a very quick automatic 6 spd trans. Just remember not to load this car down MPG is killed with any extra weight.

Alright, I think this car is great. More specifically a car that is made for me. If you're a new driver this has the proper features to teach you good driving like a lower hp so you aren't getting reckless and learning how to accelerate and decelerate properly. I've never learned stick so I got the sport auto which is really cool. I can learn how to handle the gears and rpm to practice smooth driving. So I would def suggest sport auto too against manual. Not an expert driver but the feel it has when driving is nice. The xtra features with sport is def worth the cost. The road noise kinda loud but you can hear your engine and hear the revs. Again, I think sport auto is a great learner car.

This is my 2nd Fit, loved them both - I've noticed a considerable improvement in mileage over my 2008 Fit. After 1600 miles I'm averaging 32 mpg in mixed driving and the mpg is still increasing. I attribute part of this to paying some attention to that annoying but useful mpg bar display in the center driver's console. You WILL get better mileage with a Civic or Corolla sedan, but you won't be able to haul washing machines, large dressers, and find other amazing uses as with the Fit. Great for a single like me with no friends with pick-up trucks or SUVs. It's the best compromise between utility and economy in available US cars today, period.

Traded a 2008 Altima 6-speed manual for the 5-speed manual base Fit (which was hard to find, but I only buy manuals). Amazing interior room for the exterior size. Great ride and handling. While it wouldn't win a drag race with the Altima, it is just as much fun to drive. Test drove the Sport with the paddle shifters, but the manual is much more responsive -- sure, there's some engine noise when you get up into the power range (>4K RPM), but it's smooth as silk at all RPM and if you keep it in its power range it's very responsive. Getting 31 mpg in town and up to 40 on the road at speeds of 60- 70. Above 70 mph the MPG drops fast as RPM go well above 3K. Great car!

Far Better Than I Expected

I bought a Fit because I was looking for a good commuting car (suburban & highway) that was good on gas. I considered hybrids but went with the Fit based on purchase price, features and MPG. The car is rated for something like 31 MPG, but I routinely get 36 highway and 37 - 38 suburban. Checked at fill-up, I'm getting about 37 on average. If I watch the MPG gauge, I can average about 40 on back roads without the A/C and 39 with. Some reviewers criticize the performance, especially acceleration. I find it good with the 5-speed manual. Not a race car, certainly, but not bad. Electric power steering is sensitive and takes getting used to.

I've had my Fit for 6 months, and have really enjoyed driving it and have had no problems with it. I do a combination of city/highway driving and average 36- 37 mpg overall. I have the Sport package which overall has a great look and is fun to drive. I did purchase floor mats, body side moldings, and window tint after market (see below re:improvements). As others have stated, the upholstery attracts fuzz, so I carry a lint roller in the car.

Two weeks of ownership, and it's a delight. Paid 18,455, and dealer threw in floor mats. Just returned from a 400 mile weekend in the Catskill Mts. , a test run, and it was flawless. Gas usage estimator said I got 32.5.mpg but my own before and after fill up calculations came to 34.8. That's with lots of mountainous and hilly driving.

As for the Honda Fit now that I have it; it's great I travel about 160 miles a day and have filed up twice since picking up my car; I am averaging 33.7 MPG. The Fit is fun to drive and I expect having the car for a long time.

I bought this car for its style and fuel economy. It has not disappointed. Great all around car with excellent fuel economy. My commute is rural highway driving with stops and starts. I have never gotten worse than 36 MPG even with the air on. My best is 38.8 MPG.

For the price of this car, you can't find a better deal. We looked at Mazda 3 and Toyota Yaris when shopping, and the Honda Fit offered more for less, including the priceless reputation of reliability associated with Hondas. I was looking for an economical 4-door hatchback with plenty of room for me and my 3-yr-old, and the Fit fits the bill! Tons of interior space and between 28 and 35 mpg for me so far (no road trips yet). Also, I found the driver seat/positioning to be quite comfortable after simply adjusting the telescopic/tilt steering wheel - this coming from a female with chronic lower back pain.

I don't know what I am doing wrong but I cannot get more than 24-25 mpg no matter how I drive. This is frustrating. Otherwise love the way it drives, especially holds the road. I appreciate the lumbar support on driver's seat.

Having downsized from an Accord to a 2010 Fit Sport automatic and I wasn't sure what to expect at first. After a short time, I am pleasantly surprised by this car and amazed at how much room there is on the inside considering how small it is on the outside. The interior is very well put together with numerous storage areas and thoughtful touches. I find my Fit sport to be pretty comfortable for such a small car, with plenty of leg room and head room. The seats themselves are very supportive and well bolstered and the interior is versatile. The ride and handling is sporty while being comfortable overall. Power is good for the size of the Fit, and mpg is excellent! You can't go wrong !

After I bought this car I found numerous customer reviews reporting uncomfortable head restraints and seats. I cannot drive my brand new Honda Fit for more than 15 minutes without feeling pain in the neck and back. Head restraints push too much forward and hurt your neck and it seems to be a problem for many of Honda models for 2009 and later.

I bought this car after an accident totaled my 2000 VW passat. The passat was smooth, powerful and handled well. It was very comfortable, but got lousy mileage on premium, and turned out to be very expensive to own. My 60,000 service cost over $800. My new little car is a BMW in disguise! It handles so well, and is actually quite sporty, even with the extremely small engine and automatic. It has shift paddles like a Ferrari, and when you get used to it, and use the transmission well, it keeps up with anything driving in legal range. Plus, the faster I drive, the better the mpg. I get about 29 in the city, over 35 on the highway at 75.2 yr costs have been only $280. Oil change every 10k!

After renting one for a long trip I was very interested in purchasing this vehicle. HOWEVER, I am still amazed that a 2010 vehicle does not come with KEYLESS ENTRY. For this reason alone I have eliminated the Honda Fit from my list and it is very unfortunate. The interior cabin with full folding rear seats is very unique.

Had this car for 11 months and traded it in for a civic,more seat space and better mpg and still fun to drive. My complain is that the car could use some more power and lesser rpm at cruise speed, a 6 gear would be nice and better for overall mpg. I'm 6'2 and the seat can't go far enough back to get comfortable. Ok the versatile seats are handy but therefor we still have a Mazda5 who drives very good! Maybe the hybrid version will get some more owners with at least 50 mpg, get 42 average with my civic coupe, with use of ac in summer.would be nice if you can rent one for a day and make a good test drive instead of around the car lot, saves you a lot of headache and money.

I just made a 600 mile trip and found it quite comfortable on the highway. I was disappointed in the gas mileage at 31.9 mpg. It handled very good in wind and passing trucks. I was surprise also as to how little power was left after 60 mph. Passing cars can be very stressful when you need the power. For an engine with this lack of power it should deliver much higher gas mileage. I would think it needs at least 20 more hp. The rear cargo area is great for a car this size. One of the selling points for me. I don't care much for the black interior as it does catch lint and shows to bad.. Plenty of head room for such a small car and seats are very comfortable for me at 5-10.

This car replaces my '99 Civic, which came off 6th best in a 6-car collision back in January. Overall I am quite pleased with my purchase. The Fit delivers about 40 mpg on my daily 70 mile commute (even better on road trips), offers punchy acceleration when necessary, and has a much better road feel than my old Civic. It has a teensy turning circle and is easy to park. As many others have noted,the cargo capacity of this diminutive vehicle borders on an optical illusion.
