Mechanic says at 125,000 miles (mostly highway miles) it'll go another 125,000. It's that well-made. Rust appeared only in 10th year of ownership and I had it removed. Now it's like new.

I bought my Toyota Corolla S 2007 in fall of 2006, and named her Libby. Truth be told, I have had prettier (aesthetically pleasing) cars, but no car has ever matched her reliability. She is now 216,000 miles old and still keeps on keeping on. When I got her, I was single and now 7 years later, we have a 7 year old daughter, 2 big dogs and Libby. My husband's truck is in the shop, and Libby has been our single vehicle off/on since 2008. In 2012-current, I've had a relatively long commute for my job, upwards of 45-60 min one way, so both ways everyday - Lots of driving. Libby is a true workhorse, and we ensure she is has regular maintenance (full synthetic oil changes, etc.). She's never, knock on wood, had any major repair. Right now she needs new shocks/struts (front/back) because we've lived in some very rural areas with lots of pot holes, dips and rough terrain. I'm on this website right now because we're searching for a bigger family vehicle, and will likely give Libby to a family friend while she job searches. I want to say the Toyota Corolla S is outstanding value, reliability and performance. It is not made for fast rides and showing off, but for a solid smaller sedan that excels in endurance and good quality!

I purchased my 2007 Toyota Corolla LE, 5-speed manual transmission car from a dealer in 2011 after parting ways with my '96 Honda Civic. I love this car. It has great get up and go and is super reliable. When I first got this car, I had a long highway commute each day and I got amazing gas mileage (36 MPG). Two years ago, I moved and my commute is now a 10 minute drive through town and even though my MPG dropped is is still averaging about 33 MPG. Not bad! When I purchased the car it had 75,000 miles on it and since then I have nearly doubled that to 135,000 miles. It is still going strong. No issues. No super expensive repairs, just regular maintenance. This car is great! I had planned (and would love) to drive this car until it refuses to go anymore but our family acquired two large dogs so I am forced to seek out a larger vehicle. But I am sad to see my car go! I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

I have owned this car since 2010 and have been very pleased. It had only 25k miles on it when I bought now it has over 170k with only one minor problem. I drove it back and forth from Toronto to the Metro Detroit area almost every weekend in all types of weather and have only had one minor problem: a few years ago that the dial for the heat/air quit working and some part had to be replaced costing me between $70-$100 (it's been a while). It has always been excellent on gas and starts up with no problems every time! I just got in an accident and the car is going to be claimed a total loss (no mechanical damage but too much body damage) I am sad to see it go!

This car is simply the best. It is a zero frills, going to get you to your destination every time vehicle. I have put 104K on it myself, purchased new in 2007. I have done regular-ish service, going about 7500 between oil changes. I used to drive aggressively, but after calming down I now get 37-42 on the highway. I hit 45mpg once.... I never get under 30mpg, ever. The only downside I can think of is that I will not be in the market for a new car in a long time. I reasonably expect to hit 200K and I no longer have a commute to work. (<1mi). Also, I have no ABS and I now live in the northeast. This hasn't been a problem yet. I've made it through very heavy snowstorms.

I bought this car recently with 35,000 miles. I can't say much about the reliability yet, however, this car has a really rough ride as compared to my Nissan Sentra and Honda Civic. The rough ride was unbearable so I spent $590 on Michelin Defender tires which have improved the ride, but it still rides rougher than the other two cars I mentioned. The handling on turns is also poor and there is a rattle in the back ceiling that has been reduced with the new tires, but the car still tends to vibrate and bounce. Also the driver door locks to not work. It also has a very high idle and I don't believe I am getting as good of gas mileage as my other two cars. I am considering reselling.

This is a great dependable vehicle with good gas MPGs. Of all 4 years that I have owned this vehicle I have never experienced any major issues with the car. The only problem that I had with it was taking it back to the dealership to fix the molding on the roof of the car that had become unbent.

My wife bought our corolla with fourteen thousand miles on it. It was about eighty eight thousand now and it has been great. It has ran great it is safe ( proof from being in a hit and run at 55 mph) And it has been the car that saves us money on gas I would recommend this car to any one.

Good value for an inexpensive car.

I bought my Corolla S brand new in '07. It is 04-2011 now. I put 99.7% of the 65,000 miles on it myself. I have only done routine maintenance to date. Brakes and tires at 59,995 miles, Synth Oil changes every 7,500 miles, engine air filters every 15,000 miles, and cab filters every 30,000 miles. I'm planning on replacing belts and plugs at 75,000. It delivers 28 mpg in the city, and 38-42 on the highway depending on how fast I drive. I have had NO problems. None. This isn't a luxury car. It isn't a sports car. It isn't a tiny car. What it is, is a good, dependable small-car with a low cost of operation Everything works like it did when I drove it off the lot brand new.

Our 2007 Corolla LE AT was our fifth new Toyota purchase since 1989, and it will be our last. The quality of design and build, ride and fuel economy of this vehicle are very poor. The AC compressor didn't work from the start due to a small projectile impact that damaged the fins; the thing is placed low, in front and has more than a foot of open air space between it and the road. $1,200 to replace it. The road noise, stiff ride, and engine vibration is off the chart awful, but what worries me is the loud ticking when the engine is cold. It sounds like the valves/lifters are starved for oil, or what Toyota service people call "normal."

I purchased my 07 Corolla brand new. It now has over 60k miles. My car is immaculately maintained. Sorta fun to drive. Comfortable seats. Great reaction time when driving. Only hiccups I've had: The keyless entry for some reason stopped working about four months ago. Dealership says I need to get it reinstalled and they don't cover it. Yet my friend with an 03 Corolla has never had her keyless entry maintenanced and it works flawlessly. Odd. Oh also sometimes the windows don't work. The driver side door lock button will not unlock the doors, yet it will lock them. Electrical issues are popping up everywhere seems like. Good car overall, minus hiccups. Hope this helps!

Reviews on this site vary significantly, I thought I would share my ongoing experience with this car. I have 62,000 original miles without any problems at all. Gas mileage averages 32 MPG in mostly city driving, including green light burnouts on a mad dash to work. Highway mileage is usually about 37 MPG, but once again, I am an aggressive driver by Corolla standards. Always careful to perform the service every 5,000 miles, including more elaborate and expensive service at 30k and 60k. I have already replaced the belt. Engine control module recall is pending, but no problems yet. Replaced OEM Goodyear Integrity tires at 40k with Michelin HydroEdge, the tires I recommend for this car.

I got this car in June '08 with about 6,000 miles on it. It now has 62,300 and it runs wonderfully. The car always starts right up. I think the idle runs a bit high, but I am told this is normal. As per the manual it should idle at around 750 RPM. Mechanically nothing has needed to be addressed. I have only replaced a front light bulb. I have really scrutinized EVERYTHING with this car. Other than the idling (which turned out to be normal) the other thing I noticed is that the belt sometimes squeaks after start up. This happens during wet weather, particularly during the first start. That's about all I find as far as the negatives go. This car runs smoothly and is very easy to drive

I remember going with my mom when she purchased her Corolla new in '96 - and her going with me when I bought mine new 10 years later. I am a full time student and work full time, and thought having a new car meant no mechanical problems. The car worked well for the first two years, but has been falling apart since. The ECU has had to be replaced, but the engine problems persist. Toyota apparently has a "no code, no problem" policy. They apologize a lot that you 'are having problems', but that's the extent of their customer service. My engine feels like it's about to fall out, and they refuse to acknowledge that their solution to the recall on my car has not solved the problems.

I used to like Toyotas, but since owning this Corolla, I'm not so happy with them anymore. I bought this car brand new and had to replace the timing belt, brakes, batter and tires all BEFORE 30,000 miles. And now it's been recalled because the engine might shut- off on it's own at any speed and not come back on. I don't think so Toyota. Stop building junk. I'll never buy a Toyota again.

Great car. Excellent gas mileage...about 36 - 37 MPG for highway and city combined. Love the body style. Very reliable, no problems at all except for the usual things that have to be replaced over time. Front brakes pads and windshield wipers are almost ready to be replaced and I've put over 85,000 miles on it already. (I have a long drive to work every day.) Would gladly buy another one. Only problem I've had is the overhead light, it's a little touchy. You have to put the switch in just the right spot before it will turn on.

I am very unhappy with the quality of my 2007 Corolla. I bought the car new from the dealer. I had to have the car towed and the engine computer replaced by the dealer, which apparently is a fairly common problem. In addition, the automatic transmission still shifts very roughly, but the dealer insists that the transmission is fine when it obviously isn't fine. I purchased an extended warranty since I expect the transmission to fail any day. The suspension is rough and I can feel every bump on the road.

Today my 07 Corolla hit the 100K mile mark. To date, the overall MPG is 34.08. At 74K miles the engine component module went out but was covered by Toyota. At 81K miles, the intake manifold gasket was replaced for $135. These are the only problems I’ve had with the car. The OE G/Y Integrity tires were worn and replaced at 48K miles. I replaced them with G/Y Assurance ComfortTred which gives the car a quieter and more stable ride. There is still plenty of tread after 52K miles. The brakes are original. Seating position is good except very little lumbar support. I use a little pillow. I’m 6’2” and am comfortable driving 500 mile days. It’s a very good econo box.

I purchased my 2007 Toyota Corolla from the dealer new in Jan of '07. Overall, I went with the Corolla based purely on the proven track record of its reliability. It hasn't let me down. Only maintenance I perform is changing the oil every 5k miles (I've used synthetic since the first change at 2000 miles). The engine runs like new. Tires have been replaced (upgraded to 205/16 from 185/15) with some 90,000 mile Michelin Hydro-Edge so I think they will be the last set I buy before I trade it in. I will perform a full maintenance at 90,000 miles just to be safe.

This car has proved to be very reliable, cheap and efficient, but little else. Gas mileage is high around 30mpg mixed, the interior is well designed and I like the layout. There is plenty of room inside and the outside has a nice style to it. This car is great for those who just want to get from point A to point B in a quiet efficient manner. Nothing about this car is exciting, fun, or comfortable. The seats are awkward and the steering wheel position is out of place. My "premium" wheels began to rust at 20,000 and my tires didn't even last 40,000 miles. This car has been OK to own, but I think next time I will give more thought to my purchase and pick something with more of everything.

Bought my corolla ce automatic at 74,000 miles. Happy with car except lousy gas mileage. Good power but sucks gas at 21.5 mpg all city and 34 mpg all highway. So far I have refilled about 10 tank fulls. I drive very smooth & easy! Voluntary smog check showed exhaust extremely clean. Idle a bit rough compared to other 4 cylinder cars. Tire pressure ok. Also the ride is extremely harsh. Back suspension very stiff so car with driver only rides like an old stage coach across the plains. With 4 people, full gas tank and luggage ride is acceptable. Very weak overhead dome light and works very flaky at times.

I bought this car three years ago and it was a demo with 1,200. I traded in a 1998 Camry which was a great car. After driving this for one day I was realized what a mistake I had made, the road noise was atrocious. It gets great gas mileage, as high as 40 mpg on a road trip, 32 as an average, but the headlights are terrible at night on regular beam, in fact it is downright dangerous. I am in process of trading the corolla in on a Hyundai sonata, 2011. I have bought toyotas for years but since about 2007 and after, you read more bad than you do good about toyotas.

I love my Toyota. I bought a corolla ce 2007, used a year ago, for $8800. My old 89 Camry had to be retired because at 230 thousand miles, it was rear ended. It ran to drive home minus a trunk ( it was a hard hit). So far my 07 Corolla has been trouble free, and gets excellent gas mileage ( average 35 mpg town and highway) . It's an economy car, and interior reflects it. It's small. But I have carried 5 people, and a baby in an infant car seat without problem. What more do you want for reliable, efficient, transportation?

I like how many of the reviews on this car from people are negative since the issue with the recalls. If you go back a couple pages to before December 2009 you will find the truth. Over all this is a great vehicle. Its by no means luxury. but it gets the job done every time. My Toyota like many others got a new set of tires and brakes at 45,000 but who cares. motor and trans are still tight. I'm sure I will see 200,000 out of this car. A great value and best in class for sure I had a 2003 before I bought my 2007 and put 286,000 on it without so much as replacing the alternator. I think battery tires brakes were it. keep making them I'll keep buying them.

By far the worst investment I ever made! There was paint over the clear coat on the car and you could feel it. I took it back to the dealership and said there was nothing they could do about it. My factory tires lasted about 50k miles. My suspension is creaky and my car is leaning on the driver's side. My belt snapped at 40k miles. My brake pedal is loose and wiggles! The lack of power on this thing is horrible. It handles horribly. Don't ever put a roof rack on this car. I have one now and it just act's like a sail. The car loses an immense amount of power. I've invested to much money into this car. I wish I would have never bought it.

i bought this car in 07. it has been a piece of junk. to begin, the windshield started to leak twice at 5000,and at 10000. then the brake lights went out.fix them at my expense. then it started to make a funny noise at acceleration. took it back. the diagnosis was that thier was a deformed hose leaking from the trans. oh yeah ,and that was at 17000 miles. took it back at 22000 miles because the glove compartment was falling apart. and know at 42000 miles the check engine light came on because the car jerks when acceleration. theirs other miner stuff i didn't mentioned, but these are the main ones. thinking of taking toyota to court,or get my money back.

Overall I love my Corolla. So much so I bought 2. However, it was not long on the road before I noticed a lot of noise from my brakes. Every were I parked I left a rust trail. I took the car to the dealer,at least 5X. Each time they assured me the problem was correct. Finally they had a big wheel from Corporate Toyota examine the car. To my surprise, NO ONE could hear the noise, then or there after. The noise is so bad, I have had strangers at lights roll their window down and comment "Lady, you need to check your brakes". Now I am wondering with the recalls. Wish I would have bought a Ford. Service stinks as apparently does their collective hearing. I'll never buy another Toyota

This car is wonderful in all aspects. Handling is tight and engine is very peppy. Great to maneuver in all situations. Not a long distance travel car since it is small in size. 35 MPG on average! Did have on instance of high engine acceleration while stopped at traffic light. That led me to reconsider owning it since the repair shop found "no problem". Since traded it in sad to say. I will miss the Toyota Corolla greatly.

First time new Toyota Corolla-S owner (had 2 used Hondas prior to this). Agree with this car's tendency to drift & shake in wind or rain. I'm religious about scheduled maintenance, yet car shut down on me spontaneously on the highway. Had only 130K miles on it. Engine Control Unit had to be replaced! Same thing happened to my brother who has a 2006 Corolla-S. Now with the Toyota recall fiasco, I'm rethinking this purchase...should've stuck with Honda.

I bought this " 2007 Certified S Corrola" with 45,315 miles in January 2009. No Car Fax Report. Whenever I travel on the highway with wind gusts around 20 to 25 mph, this car shakes alot. It feel like you drifting off the highway. This has happen to myself, my parents and my sister whenever we drive this vehicle by ourselves. My parents suggest I add 100 pounds of sand in back of my trunk. My parents also notice they are no "Safety Indicating Brakes Lights or Other Equipment" on this vehicle. Average highway mileage is 27 mpg. Suppose weight of this vehicle is 3500 lbs, my father old 2001 Toyota Corrola LE weight 2600 lbs.

Great little car with lots of pep. Excellent gas mileage and roomy inside, trunk included. I bought it new and it now has 30000 miles. It did have a low air conditioner freon charge that the dealer repaired. Now it has Rusty Wheels which the dealer/Toyota will not repair even though the car is still under warranty. This car has always been well maintained. So watch out they may have made Corolla wheels out of the left over steel from the Tundra frames

No major mechanical problems to report with regular 5k oil changes. Overall the car is reliable and comfortable for commuting. I think I'm getting to the end of my first set of brakes and have replaced the tires with better michelins. The car starts and runs well even on cold mornings. My weekend ford ranger has a more comfortable seating and a better stock stereo but only seats two comfortably and gets at best 21mpg with 17-19mpg typical mileage for the 3 liter v6. The corolla's 1.8 liter gets 32 mpg most often with up to 36 or 37mpg on long road trips. Rear seats are comfortable for kids and short people but too cramped for large adults. With light loads car has plenty of pep.

The guy who wrote that this car is almost blown away in a windy freeway is absolutely right. But this could happen to any small car. The only thing I don't like from this car is the extra plastic bumpers on the bottom of car. Excellent overall quality, great gas mileage, well designed interior actually was the main reason I choose this s model the black interior reminds me the Audi a-4 1.8l. The paint on these cars is really bad quality, I don't know why Toyota is not taking care of this issue, and add for $499 extra dollars the coat protector here in Miami this is a most to protect cars paint considering here temperatures reaches an average of 92 degrees.

I love my Toyota. It looks great and sporty for a Corolla. It is very comfortable to drive and I get 32 miles per gallon on daily commutes and 38 miles per gallon on trips. The only thing that is a little challenging is that it is harder than average to see the rear when backing up, etc. because of rear headrests and the high back design.

It drives great the AC is freezing cold and I really like the interior design. I got a special package of the CE that included cruise control, power windows and locks and something else but I forgot what it is... lol... I love my car, I just wish it didn't have those black things on the side of the door.. I have a cute White one and the black things annoy me, I'm trying to find out if I can get them replaced for white ones to match my exterior paint, but have been unsuccessful.. I love this car though! Awesome car!

This a great economy car. I consistently get around 30 mpg on 50/50 highway city drive. The reliability has been excellent so far. The ride is where this vehicle is lacking a lot. Maybe the goal was to make the car with stiff suspension to look and handle more sporty. The result is rough ride with clearly pronounced and annoying bumps - "haystack wagon" as somebody else called it. My other car is Huyndai Elantra and believe me the difference in ride quality is huge.

I bought the 07 CE model early this year. I commute 60 miles a day and needed something with good gas mileage. I love the plain Jane exterior, it just seems to blend in seamlessly. The interior looks nice with the two tone gray, and the cloth seats look better than average. The stereo sounds great, and the controls are super user friendly. The air is cold and the heat is hot, which is always a plus.

My parents bought this car used when it was a year old and had about 25k on it (bought from a rental car company). It has served us great. The 1.8L has plenty of pickup to really move the car, but still gets phenomenal mileage (30 mpg in mostly city driving). It has been bulletproof thus far, and that will probably not change. I love the size of the trunk (and folding rear seats). The seats are comfortable and easily accommodate all drivers, both large and small. I highly recommend to anybody that needs a trustworthy economical car.

This is the first Toyota I have owned and it is an amazing car. My last 3 cars have been Pontiacs and this is by far the best. After reading reviews I was a little hesitant to purchase a Corolla, I'm 6'4" and 230 lbs. I fit in the car just fine. The drivers seat is comfortable and I have no problems reaching the steering wheel, although I do understand a need for a telescopic steering wheel. The car rides and drives great. I hope to get 250,000 miles out of it, or until the wheels fall off. Whatever comes first. I just sold a Firebird and the Corolla puts the bird to shame as far as handling and drive-ability. Go get one today, don't wait. The gas mileage is great too, highway/city.

I drove my Corolla for a year with the impression that it had a big-car feel and a very smooth feel (smoothest ever in fact). Then something broke, and the dealership has been unable to fix it. Now I do not feel safe driving on the interstate because if I hit even a small bump (and especially a series of small bumps) it feels like I am going to loose control. At slower speeds, it is just uncomfortable to drive on anything but the smoothest of roads. The dealership claimed to replace the front struts, and maybe they did because it did seem to reduce the rough feel for a 1-2 days.

I got a great deal on this little car more than a year ago and wanted to write a review. It's been a great for in town and it drives well on longer trips. Our two children fit easily in the back seat and the trunk has plenty of room for short trips. We have a manual and our average gas mileage is 32 mpg in town and 38 mpg on the hwy. I think it is the best bang for the buck when compared to other manufactures. My experience has been great with all Toyota products.

I bought this car for my daily commute (about 55kms one way). I bought the SE (special edition) so it came with a sunroof. I was a little annoyed it didn't come with cruise control. The car has plenty of pickup for merging onto the highway and bombing around the city. Gas mileage was a little less than promised but still good. I would agree that the steering wheel position is difficult for taller drivers. It can be difficult to grab the steering wheel while finding a comfortable location for you legs. Plenty of space for a commuter car and lots of trunk room. Almost two years later no mechanical issues and the price was right.

We purchased this car as a downsize from an SUV because of gas mileage and gas prices. The Corolla has great gas mileage, we average between 32 and 35. Handles well and looks good. It is so small though. The door pockets are not large enough to put much in. There needs to be a trunk release on the keypad. It would also be nice if the direction and temperature indicator was on the rearview mirror instead of the dash. The front drivers seat can be raised... it would be nice if the passenger seat raised as well. The map lights on the rearview mirror are nice. The passenger can have it on tp read a map or whatever without it disturbing the driver.

The battery went dead at 6K miles, after I didn't drive for 2 weeks. The car has a good ground clearance, but when I drive on a windy freeway, it feels like the car is going to be blown away. I bought a brand new 2007 model in Nov 2006 paying a high premium. In a year, I have come across these problems: (1) One day, the computer broke (went out of order) by itself and the car totally stopped. I had to get it towed to the dealer who fixed the necessary hardware & codes taking 3-4 days. But if this would have happened during one of my journeys to Canada, what would have been my fate? (2) The driver and front passenger seats are horribly uncomfortable. We feel as if we are sitting on a wooden bench without any cushion. In a drive of 30 minutes, you would like to get off the seat because of the pain it gives. Also, arm-rests are not provided. I am not at all happy with Toyota.

Great overall car. Outside it looks very good. Not too sporty. Inside is very solid and has higher quality looking materals around the dash and steering wheel. Toyota plays it safe and didn't try too hard on its design inside and out. I own the blue one. All of the paint jobs are very nice. It drives and handles great unless you are in hilly country. Then it needs some extra pep. The seats have a nice adjustable recline that is very comfortable but could be a little softer. In fact, the seats are very hard and don't break in.

It is one of my most favorite cars I have ever driven. It has surprised me more than once with its handling and efficiency. A great car if you do a lot of driving and spend many hours in your car. I like the manual shift, I get greater control and that is something this car in an automatic model would not produce on its own. The standard shift also gives me more MPG on the highway and in the city. I average about 38 mpg to 42 mpg on the highway. It has 15000 miles on it now, so as you can see, I love it.

I love this car! The gas mileage is great, and it has decent power for a compact car. I recently got in an accident with this car and it held up great, no injuries. When we buy another car it will be another Corolla.

Picked up this car 5/2007 and now have 1200 miles on it. Vehicle came equipped with Goodyear Integrity P185/16 which have an air loss problem. Letters to Toyota USA & Goodyear unsuccessful & forget the dealer bad news with them. Even though Toyota chose to put these tires on their car they blame Goodyear & Goodyear is unresponsive. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety website there are 25 complaints filed on these tires so something is wrong. Overall for this car Toyota has failed with it the interior is sloppy & the vehicle handles like it is 4 yrs old not 4 months old. Also once I tilt the wheel I cannot see the speedometer

Nice cheap little car. Lacks performance with a 126 HP engine, especially with 3 passengers on board and the AC cranking, the thing will barely accelerate under all that stress. At higher speeds, at about above 75 mph, it becomes a little unstable to drive on the highway, it feels like you could lose control of it because of the wind and drag. I think the car might be too light. I also don't get the advertised mileage. But on the upside, it still runs. I guess that is all that is asked for by any Corolla owners and nothing more.

I owned this car for 15 months then it was totaled in a head-on collision. I had it for approximately 15,000 miles. The car, specifically the seat belt, air bad and design, saved my life. The entire front end crumpled and both the appraiser and tow truck driver said it was the worst they had seen in months. I walked away from the crash with a few bruises. I highly recommend this car just for its safety. Great gas mileage.

I drive the S, so it has a sportier look, but nothing sportier under the hood. I don't like that this model is larger than previous generations. At times my compact parks like a small bus. OK gas mileage, though I admit my mileage is 90% city (averaging around 27-30 mpg, 34-37 when I do drive highway).

I bought this car 10 months ago and it still feels like a new car. Being a new car it is hard to say how reliable it is but it has not failed me yet. The gas is wonderful and lasts a long time though like any other car the A/C drains the gas very fast. I will say that this is not a sports car. Don’t expect to go 0-60 in 2 seconds. It is mainly for looks not speed. I use it just to take me to work and really nothing more. I highly recommend this car if you want a low price car and great gas mileage. Just wish the A/C was stronger.

Today, I have owned my new 07 Corolla LE exactly 3 months. I have over 11K miles on it, 80/20 highway/city at around 73-75 mph, highway. I drive with a light touch and I am getting 34.9 mpg. I anticipated closer to 38. We got this car for economy and reliability. I think the mpg will improve as the car wears in. Handling is ok, acceleration is ok and road noise is ok. It’s an econo-box, not a sports car. We are happy with the car, it has met our expectations. I like the traditional body style.

For an economy car it has ample room for a normal sized person. I like the pep the car has and it can zip around with ease. Nice body styling with very easy to use dash panel controls. The interior does not appear "cheap" like some of the other economy cars. Smooth ride on good surface but you feel it when the road gets bumpy.

Initially, I loved the car. Into 1-2 months, the car was taken in for various concerns, mostly brakes, then later in the months for check engine light, rattling. The dealership supposedly resolved the issues. Why was it necessary to go back on many occasions, especially for the brake work? And why did the check engine light come on (this was not filling up the gas tank related)? I am now questioning the reliability of the car. All I want is a good car, with good gas mileage, and looks good.

Considering that I'm in my car all day, I must say that the Corolla is a very practical everyday car but boring nonetheless. I don't really get excited when I'm in it and I don't look at it beautifully like I did my previous car. Maybe it's because I upgraded from a 1996 Civic, but this Corolla had so much potential to be a fun everyday vehicle. Hopefully the next generation will be better.

Have owned an 01 Avalon, 02 Camry, and 06 Avalon w/ highest regard for my purchases and vehicle performances. Purchased 07 Corolla 3 weeks ago. The Corolla fits into the same value and performance as those Toyos of previous. Clearly not a sports car. Clearly not the most vivacious exterior. Clearly not my 06 Avalon. However, this vehicle matches my travel needs extremely well. My auto tran is delivering 36 mpg with a quiet and smooth ride. I drive 700 miles per week for business, and this vehicle exceeds expectations for travel and value. I highly recommend the 07 Corolla to anyone in need of a driving machine that delivers and keeps you driving vs. in service shops.

I'm pleasantly surprised at the excellent performance, handling and relative quietness of the Corolla. I came to this car after running a 1990 Ford Probe 5 speed GL into the ground. The Probe would easily beat the Corolla off the line but highway performance and handing on curvy roads are the same. Corolla stick shifting is smoother. Tire noise is quieter than Probe but still noticeable. Engine is quieter and smoother. Fuel economy is currently running 37 mpg highway and suburban driving. Over the first winter 34 mpg was typical. I only hope Corolla reliability lives up to the reputation.

Well if you get down to it, the Corolla is the highest purchased vehicle in the world due to popular demand. 42 MPG, affordable, dependable, sporty, and talk about resale. I drive a Tahoe that I love and we needed a vehicle for my wife and looking at reviews on this car it is the highest rated and most purchased. There are a lot of other vehicles out there cheaper, but when I buy a vehicle I would like it to hold its value so when I trade it in I can get what it's worth. Anyone looking to purchase a car need to purchase the Corolla or the Camry.

I drive 400 miles a week and needed a car that was more economical with these increasing gas rates, I was spending over $450 a month on gas alone. It was time for a change even if it ended with a small payment for some time. The first thing I did was an internet search - autos with high gas mileage, 35 miles per gallon and cheap. Guess what popped up on every web site and forum, Yes Corolla. So my only option at this point was to buy one. Yes, now I made the correct choice. I used to fill my tank 3 times a week. Now I only need to fill up once a week. That is a money saver. Thank you Toyota for making my life more reliable and practical.

LE w/moonroof/auto. Does everything well. Good, if sometimes busy ride. Firm seats comfortable for long trips. Headroom fine for my 75" under sunroof. Fairly quiet ride. Good sound system. Roomy trunk. Outstanding economy, 30-35 mpg. Driving postition is a bit odd when hands are at 10 and 2 on wheel. It's fine for the 4 and 8 o'clock position the pros recommend. Only gripe is that useful options e.g. alloys, stability, abs, hard to find. Distributors prefer packing the car with pricey junk like paint sealant, stripes, etc.

This is a nice little car. Looks bigger than other cars in its class. Has a pretty big trunk and is spacious under the hood. Did the first oil change and it was a breeze. Filter and drain plug are next to each other. My only complaint is the actual MPG I am getting is 30.5-32.5 hwy. Not quite the 39 hwy like Toyota advertises but still good. Great overall car, I am 6'3" and have adequate space, nice sound system with the 6 speaker 6 cd changer. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an economical and reliable 4dr compact car.

The Corolla has moved into the sweet spot in the American car scene that the Camry held for years. The car is as big as a 96 Camry inside and will meet most drivers' needs as well. The Camry has become more car than most of us need now. Gas prices have many Americans looking for a new sweetheart. Corolla is much more refined than before. The ride is smooth and quiet and there is plenty of power. The fabrics are even Camrylike, soft yet durable. Everything seems to be right where you would have put it yourself. Just the right car at the right time.

I replaced my 2000 Pontiac Bonneville with a 2007 Toyota Corolla LE 5 spd. The only reason we went with a small car was because of the cost of gas, otherwise we would have never done it. The 2007 Corolla is horribly uncomfortable to drive. There is no support under the front part of your thighs, and the steering wheel is too far away. It seems impossible to adjust the seat to get into a comfortable driving posting where you can actually grab the steering wheel at 10 and 2. My wife owned an '89 Toyota Corolla and it seems like it has changed little since then except gotten more uncomfortable.

I bought my 5 spd corolla in sept '06, and have put on almost 21000 mi already. I drive 80% hwy and avg 41 mpg. Awesome! I have had ZERO problems with this car so far. The 5 spd shifts great and has enough pickup for my needs. A sports car it is not, but for anyone who doesn't need race track thrills, this is simply the best car available. Awesome gas mileage, bulletproof reliability, and it even looks nice! Also, for those of you who work on their cars, there is loads of room under the hood so working on the engine and other components is not a cramped nightmare.

This is a great car to own and drive. My wife and I drive it to work every day in heavy traffic and the Corolla makes it easy to handle. The gas mileage is incredible, averaged 41 mpg on a trip from DC to Florida and routinely get 33-34 mpg driving in heavy city traffic. It looks great and rides well. Negatives: The seats are well made and high quality however they can be a little uncomfortable after an hour or so I've found.

I tried not to like this car, but every time I compared it to something American made there was no comparison. The S model makes the car look much nicer in my opinion. I have almost 4000 miles on it since March. Gas mileage is excellent. Consistently getting 34-35 mpg with 75% highway driving. I'm 6'-2" and am pretty comfortable in it. I use a wheelchair and it fits in the trunk fine. The seating position makes you feel like you are sitting in a larger car. I agree with many other reviewers that the steering wheel position is a bit awkward, but I have quickly gotten used to it. I would highly recommend this car to someone needing economical, reliable transportation.

Fun to drive. Get the protection package to prevent unwanted rattles and noises, it protects your paint too. The sports package gives it a great look. This car is perfect for all age groups. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and noticed a lot of people said the seating was uncomfortable. I have not had that problem (my previous vehicle was a 4Runner so that's really all I can compare it to but I find it comfy). The car looks so small from the outside that it's hard to believe how much space is inside. I love it!

At 6500 miles, we've had a rear trim weather strip/seal fall off. Gas mpg not what sticker called for (31 city/38 hwy) although not bad, we're getting about 34 on the hwy and 27 in the city. Transmission shifts good, although it switches between gears a lot on the hwy, usually downshifting going up hills and mountains. This is probably due to a low torque/horsepower engine.

It handles well with good acceleration, though the pedal is a bit touchy. We would have liked to get the back seat air bags, but could not find them. The Corolla, like all Toyotas, has been built with precision to be reliable and practical. I got the S model so I could look good at the same time. The car is fairly fun to drive too, thanks to a smooth and peppey engine and a precise 5 spd manual. I was looking at a Mazda 3, which I still think is more fun and better looking, but the price was right on the Toyota (probably because they're revamping this model for 2008)with 0.9% interest and $750 cash back on a lease. It's built for smaller drivers (I'm 6') as evidenced by the steering wheel being close to the dash and high seat height. After about a week I found an acceptable driving position, but still no thigh support.

I haven't had it long enough to know just what sort of mileage I get yet, but I'm impressed so far - I've gone about 100 miles and only used 1/4 tank. I replaced a '90 manual Probe seeking an economical and reliable ride. Considering the smaller engine 1.8L vs 2.2L the highway performance is surprisingly good. The Probe had an edge in acceleration during passing but the Corolla is noticeable quieter at 75mph. Tire noise is about the same. Corolla shifting is clearly smoother. Calculated fuel economy averages 33 mpg. On Boston to NYC trips I've gotten 40. Trunk space is surprisingly roomy. A key factor was that it carry all my amateur astronomy stuff. The little storage areas including the armrest storage are quite convenient keeping the interior neat. Radio reception is excellent. CD/radio sound is good

I have owned my toyota for about a month I traded in a 4x4 ford F150 with a huge V8 for this little nimble toyota corolla I was getting about 17 miles to the gallon in the truck I drive from Ohio to Alabama every other weekend and the Truck was killing me in gas. I bought the toyota corolla to help ease the pain of my pocket book in fuel cost. I have about 2500 miles on my toyota now and I am a bit disapointed in the fuel economy I have gotten only 33 miles to the gallon on the highway and as little as 24 miles to the gallon in the city very unhappy with that wondered if I should have just kept the big gas hog fo the difference in the milage I thought I would get. Overall I like the car.

When it comes to city driving it easy to park and handles well. I question the fuel economy when driving in the city I avg. about 23 mpg which is far below the 30mpg other people have claimed and even below the 25mpg the stickers actual. I've only put 2000 miles on the car and wonder if others experienced the same. Other then that i would recommend this car.

This is my first Toyota. I have always had Civic, but Honda got pricey. I am impressed with Corolla. What a value. Seat is high, ride smooth. Sure Civic is more stylish but similarly equipped is not worth extra 4 K. Have it for over 2 weeks and still use gas from the dealer. Very good value especially if you do not add extras. Factory equipped is good for me. All I need is AC and Stereo. I do not get it why Edmund says it is too expensive. Compare to Honda it is a bargain. You can get it below Invoice while Honda wants at least MSRP or more.

I've only put a thousand miles on my Corolla. Been keeping careful track of my mileage. While the car is hardly broken in yet (1100 actual miles) I have never gotten more than 24.9 mpg. This is generally city mileage. I was expecting better, but maybe as the car loosens up it will improve. The steering wheel is a bit far, as others have mentioned and the the driver's seat a bit short. I am replacing my old Honda Accord Wagon with this car, and expected less space but I was pleasantly surprised about having a better view as the Corolla is a taller car than the Accord. Some minor quality problems, a tiny warp in the windshield, but the car will hopefully be a reliable appliance.

First ever new car, first ever toyota, never will buy anything else other than a yota now. Good MPG, the 5 speed is fun to drive. You get looks at the lights. I wash it twice a week. It's just a great great vehicle. Got it for a song as well. I have a sporty looking car without a sporty price and that I like.

I am a parent of two teenage daughters and I feel that small cars should be safe also. The car drives well and the steering is crisp enough to add security on mountain roads. The ride is fair on confort and leg room is just enough for 5'-10" people. The Toyota Corolla is a great little car, but the base model is hard to find with air bags. We finally found one with the side curtain and side seat air bags without the top end LE accessories. Consumer Reports recommended buying the Toyota Corolla, but only with the air bag option. It is not something I hope to test, but it is reassurring to know they will save a life when needed. The brakes stop the car with enough safety as well.

This is an impressive car in all respects. Exterior design is very attractive with the S package but I prefer it without the spoiler. Build quality is outstanding. Love the ride and handling and fuel mileage seems to meet spec--I've had my car for a week. It's quieter on the road than I thought it would be. Seats are comfortable but I have to agree with some other reviewers that the driver cushion is a little short ( and I have short legs).I also agree with others who complain about needing a telescoping wheel. Horsepower is adequate. Amazing trunk size for a compact. I recently drove a Caliber and it cannot match the Corolla in any category. I'm glad I bought my Corolla.

This is my first new car ever, my previous car was a Nissan Maxima handed down from my mother. I really wanted something reliable and fuss free and I think I got exactly that with the Corrolla. The drive is pretty smooth and easy although pick-up on the highway is above average not as powerful as perhaps other cars in the same class. The interior is nice and plush and I like the extra detailing of the wood accents that come with the LE model. There are some minus points however, the buttons for the audio system are set too far away from the driver, especially if you have shorter arms, no controls on the steering wheel like Honda Civic.

At first, I was hesitant to buy such a compact car since I have driven nothing but SUV's. I sold my 2003 Suburbam about a month ago because of gas prices but when my brother told me about the Corolla I paid attention. I was looking for economical car anyways and went to test drive it. I was hooked as soon as I drove it.It rides smoothly, it has power and it is fun to drive. The features I got for the price, automatic transmission, power mirrors, CD, outside temperture and AC all for the outrageous price of $11,998.00 is a heck of a deal.

I'm 65 years old and this Corolla just makes me like it more each time I drive it. In the city it runs around like a peppy little rabbit and on the highway it handles 75 mph speed limits like you are going 50. Fully loaded with 3 big adults and luggage and coolers (the trunk is larger than you think) cruising at 75 mph our gas mileage was 37 & 38 mpg. Less money and better equipped than all the other vehicles I tested. In a few years I may give this car to my grandson and then I may try a Camry. Anyway, buy one and start to enjoy it right now.

It looks great, bought the white S. Interior room is good. Have 2 young children and they do good in the back seat. My first mileage was 41.6 mpg with the automatic driving very easy on the highway in break-in. Except when the Escaldes try to run up your tail pipe at 65 mph. I drive 100 miles per day so will enjoy the MPG. Some people complained about the steering wheel being too far away, however it suits me fine as I drag my knuckles when I walk anyway. This is my 2nd Toyota, my first was 83 pickup which I got over 250,000 miles on b4 I sold it after 15 years.

Bought this car one month ago. I love it. 40 mpg overall avg with 25%city/75% hwy after 2000 miles. Handles well and acceleration with the 5 speed is great. The drivers seat takes some getting used to, not the most comfortable. I am 5'll'' and 195lbs and the seat and front leg room are only adequate for my size. I would not recommend this car to anyone above 6'2'' or 220lbs. The build quality is typically Toyota solid. My backup car is a 93 Corolla that has 222,000miles on it and still runs great, so I am hoping the reliability will be the same with the 07. Overall, its a well built car with excellent resale value, is great on gas, and has a history of bulletproof reliability.

Positives: Classic and classy exterior. Quiet and comfortable interior. This car is peppy on the start, smooth on the braking. Excellent fit and finish. Turns corners very easily and quickly. Excellent gas mileage. Short enough to parallel park in city. Negatives: cheap plastic storage slots under radio waste space; drink holders awkward to use, spill onto seats, should be under radio; radio control too complex, too many FM buttons; rear headrests block driver's view; antenna easy to steal, should power retract; needs flat surface for food/small objects in lieu of bulky container under armrest; driver-side piller creates blind spot. For $15,363 a very good value.

Just bought the car yesterday, drove 150 miles, like the car alot. * Handles nicely at 75 mph. It handles ok at 80 mph (if highway is very smooth but not if bumpy). * Power to accelerate is above avg., (feels better than Sentra that we didn't buy). * Visibility is very good looking over dash, back and side mirrors provide great view. * Seats are very comfortable and adjust nicely for my 5'2" or 6' husband. Legroom very good. Seatbelt is very comfortable. * Car is fairly quiet at lower speed but gets more road noise at higher highway speed. Sound system is nice up to about 70 mph, it is not enjoyable to play at 75-80 mph. * Looking forward to great mileage and reliability,,, Jackie

I bought this car the same week the 2007 was available. It drives well, better than a Yaris. Its cheaper than a HONDA civic, its cheaper than the ALTIMA. Think about it this way, if you are in the market to buy a car that you need to use for your family and for traveling to work back and forth this thing is AMAZING! acceleration is good, fuel economy is great, if i had to give this car a grade on a scale of 1 - 10, it would be a 9.8 for sure.

Quite a good little performer. I find that the 1.8L 4 cyl engine outdoes the 2.4L of the competition that I drove. This car is not a dud at all. It can cruise down the highway smooth and quiet at 70mph or more. The LE has all the equipment you ever need. 30mpg around town is common. 40mpg or close to it at highway speeds. I hauled 4 adults, one of them over 300 lbs, from the airport without crowding or noticeable loss of power due to being heavily loaded. I like this car more every day and am happy it was my choice over competition.

This is my fifth Toyota product since 1992, and the only problem I've had was one blower fan, which I bought from a used parts place for $50 and installed myself. I expect the reliability tradition to continue. The car cost more than Mazda 3 or Cobalt, but I'm counting on savings on gas and resale value to cover the difference.

I picked up my 2007 Corolla S about 2 weeks ago, and my husband and I are Toyota converts! We love it. We especially enjoy thumbing our noses at the big oil companies! I find it very fun to drive, and I am a sports-car person. I've even gotten double takes from Lexus drivers because it looks hot! We are looking forward to purchasing a brand new Camry in about 3 years to replace my husband's gas-guzzling F-150. This Corolla replaced another gas-guzzler, my Jeep Liberty. I love the look and quality of this vehicle. There's not a squeak or rattle to be heard. I LOVE IT!
