I got 13/17. vs honda advertised 17/22. For most cars have driven, the actual is fallen with specs, but not for this Pilot. I think there should be a class action against the false advertising. Also, it is not shame, it is a crime to do that.

Everyone loves a Honda Pilot. We felt so lucky to find such a clean car with less than 75,000 miles. The car is extremely reliable. There isn't a lot of creature comforts with this trim style, but if you are looking for a car that you can drive for until 200,000 or more, than a Honda Pilot is something you should consider.

Love our Pilot

We purchased our 07 in 2010 with 30k miles on it as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. It has 82k on it now and has been a wonderful car. I recently did the timing belt and water pump which isn't a cheap maintenance item, but other than that and rear shocks it's needed nothing. Drives like it's brand new and feels like a very expensive car. If I had one complaint it would be lack of storage space behind the third row of seats, which is now a problem since our family has grown from 4 to 6 in the time since we purchased the car! Fortunately we have an Odyssey that has become the default road trip vehicle as it has the extra storage space we need for long adventures. Can't say enough good things about this one though. I do plan on keeping it a long time. Also worth noting: some complain about Honda's use of a timing belt vs. chain. My last vehicle was a 4 cyl 02 Toyota Highlander that used a chain. At about 90k miles the front timing cover started leaking oil and I spent almost $1000 having it re-sealed. Had them replace the chain tensioner while they were in there just for preventive maintenance. When I sold it the car had 170k+ miles on it and that same area was leaking again. What good is a chain if the cover is going to leak oil anyway requiring the same kind of money to be spent as you would to have a belt changed? That's my thinking. No, I'm not crazy about dropping $900-1000 for timing belts every 100k but the point is whether chain (and the like I experienced with mine) or belt, my experience has been that you're going to spend the money regardless.

2007 Pilot rocks!

I've had LOTS of cars because I quickly get bored of them. I came across a deal on my 2007 Pilot EXL used in July 2015. It was a one owner and had been hit in the rear but repaired so I got it for $4000. I have taken long road trips, and it's my daily commuter, about 50 miles a day stop and go city and highway driving. This SUV does everything I need it to do. It's got speed on the highway even at 70 I can punch it to pass and it reacts quickly. Mine has leather and the seats are very comfortable and I am a big guy (6' and 250) I have plenty of head/leg room. Nice big armrest. Lots of storage. I have AWD and this thing will NOT get stuck, but I have all terrain tires. I've only had it 9 months but I love it just as much as the day I bought it. Has 240,000 miles and drives like new because the previous owner kept timing belt and all maintenance up to date. I plan on getting a good 300k easy. I wrote my novella here hope it helps! :)

Excellent overall

Bought my Pilot EX-L 2WD used with only 24k miles on it in 2010. I just passed 100k miles and I still love this vehicle. Things I love include: 1) Reliability. Very few problems with this vehicle. Basically standard wear and tear things like tires, brakes, filters, etc. 2) Comfort. I love the airiness of the cabin. Lots of head room, shoulder space, etc. Transmission is smooth, suspension just right for me, not too tight, not too soft. Long trips are comfortable, handling is good. 3) Space. I can load this vehicle up like crazy. Great for daily things like groceries or Costco trips, and also for vacations or big item things from Home Depot or mattresses with the second and third row seats down. Also, can haul up to 8 people if necessary, but third row is best suited for children. Adults can really only ride there if short trip around town. 4) Ergonomics. Nothing fancy, don't get me wrong here. But everything is Simple and easy to understand. Buttons and knobs are well-placed and easy to operate. Storage space is good. First, second, and third row car charger plugs, etc. Things that could be better in this vehicle: 1) Entertainment system. Basically, it's 2016, and this vehicle does not have Bluetooth or aux input. Also, the stereo sound quality is average. Nothing special there at all. 2) Road noise. Always been an issue for Honda, and this vehicle is no different. Finally, there are issues I can't speak to, like towing and off-road capabilities, since I don't use my Pilot for these things. If I had to guess, I'd say this vehicle is average at best. Also, I live in San Diego, so I have no idea how well this vehicle performs in snow or other inclement weather. Seems perfectly fine in rain though from my experience. In sum, this is a very reliable, spacious, comfortable vehicle that handles well. Great family vehicle, and good for hauling lots of stuff if necessary. Only minor complaints from my perspective. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who is looking for a mid-sized SUV for everyday use.

Started off trouble-free, but...

We purchased this car in 2010 with 55k miles. We were shopping for a lower-end EX or even an LX, but the wife didn't like the colors of the other Pilots on the lot that were EX/LX. We ended up with the [more expensive] EX-L because of the color. The car was initially operated in RI, and we used it in VT. It was involved in an accident that showed up on CarFax prior to our ownership (which was disclosed by the dealer), but was repaired to a high level, so I was OK with the purchase. We expected a growing family, so we wanted a larger vehicle, with high safety ratings, and large cargo capacity. We also wanted to tow a pop-up camper with it in the future. AWD was a must because of the snow that was expected annually in Vermont. We quickly noticed that the Pilot was a great long-distance cruiser, and very comfortable to boot. The engine was a little overwhelmed at times due to the large bulk of the Pilot, but overall was up to the task. Fuel economy was around 18-19 mpg all the time - maybe 20 on the highway if you were really gentle. AWD was great in the snow, especially with a set of snow tires (a prerequisite for VT winter driving). Towing, however, was another matter. Hills were to be feared, and the engine was over-taxed, all the time. Acceleration with a 1,700 lb trailer was unacceptable. The brakes always seemed to be soft and not incredibly powerful, pedal pressure seemed not in line with braking power. This, of course, was amplified while towing. Also worth noting - when adding a tow hitch - be certain to clean the threads on the RH side before attempting to install the bolts - if the bolts get bound up, then you have a high likelyhood of breaking the welded capture nut loose on the inside of the frame rail. To correct this issue requires removal of the entire 2nd and 3rd row of the interior, and making a 3" hole in the cargo area floor to access the loose nut. Maintenance was relatively simple, and the minder on the dash made it easy to keep track of. I performed all of the maintenance on the car, and my only complaint was that when the oil filter was removed, the oil would drain on the front subframe, making a mess. All other maintenance (including the timing belt/water pump at 105k) was straightforward and uncomplicated. I did NOT like needing to replace the rear VTM-4 differential fluid every 15k miles, though... that seemed really excessive - especially since it requires a GALLON of Honda fluid at $40 a gallon. Now, on to the problems: 1.) While every car in Vermont will develop rust from the salt eventually, the Pilot did a relatively decent job at resisting it. When we finally traded it in, the underbody was pretty clean for a VT car. However, the door moldings retained dirt, sand, and filth really badly, and I don't want to know what the steel doors looked like underneath. 2.) June, 2014 - At about 120k, the lower portion of the right rear knuckle on the car fractured, leaving the lower mount of the shock dangling in place. Had I not noticed it immediately, it would have cut the tire. Honda did not have a single replacement part anywhere in the country, and I was forced to replace it with a used component. The replacement of that component required removal of all of the suspension and brakes in that corner of the car and a $900 repair bill. Keep in mind that this is a cast-iron part, and should be good for the life of any vehicle. 3.) November, 2014 - At 130k, the power steering rack began to leak badly, despite two proper fluid maintenance services having been performed since 2010. Replacement of this component is also excessively labor intensive - requiring 15 hours of labor to remove. I was not happy about this. This was a $1700 repair. 4.) January, 2015 - The final nail in the coffin for the Pilot was that the rear differential began to howl at any speed above 35-40 mph. This was despite the fact that the fluid changes had been performed regularly, with the expensive Honda fluid. Research showed that this would be a $1000-$1500 repair, with a used differential. We got rid of it for a 2011 Kia Sorento SX.

Brought my 2007 Pilot brand new. Now February 2013 with only 64,000 my spark plugs are gone and coil burned. The dealer told me it will cost $4500 to fix. I am very disappointed and upset with Honda. The technician told me they don't check spark plugs until 100,000 miles. So I would have no way on knowing that there is a problem. It give no warning. I was sitting at the traffic light when the Pilot starting shaking and making a noise as I drove off. I had to pull into a shopping center and have it towed to the dealer because I could not drive it. I have owned 4 Hondas but I think this will be my last.

The Pilot was great to me. Super reliable, and I only ever had one problem outside of routine maintenance, a rear HVAC blower motor went out, which was replaced under Honda Care for no charge. I selected the FWD model after getting a CPO mouse infested 4WD model from a dealer. They upgraded me to Leather and Rear Entertainment. We average under 40" of snow here, so I didn't think anything of the lack of 4WD. Until the first day I had to drive in snow. Even with Michelin Xice 2 snow tires, I couldn't make it over small bridges, crossing a single lane train track. Cars with all seasons drove right past me. I'd slide backward down the hill. Bit better w/ traction control turned off.

Having always been a Honda guy I went with the Pilot. Pros- Seats 7, roomy, good passenger storage. The wheel wells are 4'2" apart so you can fit everything from sheetrock to golf clubs. Drives awsome in the snow and poor conditions. Overall no major mechanical problems. Cons- For the $ you can buy a vehicle with much better creature comforts. No I-Pod jack, Seats are uncomfortable, MPGs are Average for a vehicle this size. Heat went out and was $400 to fix @ 40K. If you dont need or want bells and whisles this may be a good vehicle for you.

This is an excellent midsized SUV. Other than a paint imperfection on the tailgate (on it when purchased new), I have had no problems in 3 1/2 years of driving. I have the LX 4WD, and its not super quiet, maybe the EXL is better insulated. Rides through Snowbelt winters with no problem while in 2WD. The wife wanted 4WD, but I probably don't need it. Mechanically perfect so far, Nothing but reg scheduled maintenance. I get 20 MPG during my normal day to day driving.

This is a well built car. No mechanical problems and comfortable to drive. Not great gas mileage but knew that going in. Can't believe the doors don't lock automatically when you drive, have to do it manually. A little extra road noise also but this is overall a sound car unlike our Dodge Grand Caravan we had previously.

I have owned this car for 3 months. I am disappointed in the gas mileage. The car has rattles all over the place that we can't pinpoint. Seats are not very comfortable for long trips. I noticed yesterday how many chips are showing up in the paint--just from normal driving conditions. I sold a Buick Rendezvous for this vehicle and I wish I had kept my Buick.

The controls for the 2007 Pilot are not very well designed. It is all too easy to turn the lights on (or off) when using the turn signal. On the other side of the steering wheel the wiper control lever is easily bumped when using the gear shift lever. Highway gas mileage averages around 20 mpg, not the stated 2 4mpg. Be prepared for a bit of price shock when it's time to replace the cabin air filter. The filter can only be removed by dropping the glove box and then removing 6 screws. Changing the filter for the first time requires cutting away a plastic bar. The cost to have the dealer replace the cabin air filter is upwards of $130 for parts and labor. I would not buy another Honda Pilot.

I bought this car in December 10. I looked and looked and finally found one. I wanted white with leather and sun roof. I ended up with the navigation which I didn't really care for but it's nice to have. I wanted this car because I have 4 kids and needed the room. The cargo space is not to good for travel but we will get a carrier for the roof. I just took it to Arizona and it drove GREAT. I'm very happy. I looked at the Highlander but the Pilot seemed roomier the 3rd row seat was definitely more comfy. My 8 year old son sat in the back of both the Pilot and Highlander and definitely liked the Pilot better. We love our Pilot.

Not bad overall. Interior design looks good but not exactly user friendly. Honda completely forgot to vent air to the 3rd row of seating making it extremely hot for children in the summer. I say children because its not exactly designed for an adult to sit comfortably. I'm 5'11" and the shifter on the steering column hits my knee when you put it in 1st or 2nd gear which is typically not a problem unless you need to use four wheel drive. Having a difficult time reaching the potential 22 mpg as advertised for highway even though I'm slow on the accelerator and Sunday drivers often pass me. I average 18 mpg.

I purchased this 2007 pilot used with 36,000 miles on it. Great vehicle so far. Handles well on the road and drives smoothly. The only downfall is the gas mileage. I travel 60 miles round trip and about 30 miles are rural roads. My gas mileage is about 16 miles per gallon. Keeping in mind the tank holds 20 gallons. Not very good gas mileage from this vehicle.

This car has lived up to all my versatile needs. I have a tow package, roof racks, and I feel like I can go anywhere. I added Michelin cross- terrain tires and it has added to road stability. My only complaint is city road noise. It just seems something could be done about that. As for gas mileage I get 14 in city because most of my trips are less then 6 miles. Last road trip though was 650 miles and I got 23.4 mpg. I am very happy with that. I am very happy with emergency steering and handling in poor weather. I had to veer on the freeway (gont 65) to miss a bumper in the road; this is a safe car. I can't believe it's turning capability also. I am very happy.

We've owned a Honda CRV then upgraded to a 2003 Pilot...Had numerous problems with the '03 after 6 months. Traded it in for an '07 and couldn't be happier. Gas mileage, eco mode, etc. great! Also hauls large trailers no problem. CONS: (1) area between console; very hard to clean! (2)outside noise - all of our Hondas had this issue! (3)Engine sensors can be too sensitive. - We've traveled across country w/this car and we felt absolutely safe knowing it was reliable. The '07 model is much nicer than the newer models. I would buy another one.

I bought this 2007 Honda Pilot in January 2009. It had 37,000 miles on it. After doing much research (the most informative of which I found on Edmunds.com) I decided on this car. I have loved it! Reliable, comfortable, great storage space up front for purse and "stuff". I tracked my mileage for the first 6 months. Avg highway of 17 mpg. On a road trip, it goes up to 21. I would have liked higher highway mileage, but it's ok. I knew that going into it because of the reviews on Edmunds. The 3rd row seats are great for kids. It has been a fabulous car and I'm glad I bought it!

The 2007 Pilot is very comfortable, has excellent performance and handling. It could use a little better heating and cooling controls for use between the front and rear areas. Also when the windows are all down the reverberation is so bad it just about takes your ears out. These two problems are minor and overall I would definitely buy another and would recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable SUV with room for 8 and a good compromise between size and economy. I get about 18.5 to 19 back and forth to work and about 22mpg on the freeway with the cruise on 80mph. No larger than it is I would think that Honda could make the vehicle get 22 around town and about 25-26 on the highway.

Recently acquired the car. Overall I like the car. What I do not like is the layout of some of the info on the dash control panel. The temp. is located with the mileage indicator. Need to reach around the steering wheel to put on. The clock is on the radio which is located by my knee. The heater has the temp. showing all the time. It is located in the middle of the control panel. This the least used info.

I have never even been in a vehicle with better storage area that services the driver, as many cup holders for the rear, and overall family friendly design. If I were wealthy I would have bought two, so when this one wears out I would have another. There is no other vehicle you could GIVE me that I would like more. This truck fits family and professional life. It is quality inside and out. Go for it if you are considering the Pilot.

The greatest part of the Pilot is in its comfort. I'm 6'2 and feel very comfortable in this vehicle. Easy to drive and I never get fatigued. Plenty of knee room - good support. Biggest drawback is common with all AWD SUVs - mileage. 17 city - 21 highway, but hey, I knew that. If you want great mileage, buy a Civic or Corolla.

I picked ours up CPO with 18k on it. Gas mileage is good for it's size, 18 around town 22-23 if you stay at 65 on the highway. Much quieter than the Odyssey we had previously but not a quiet car by any stretch. Mostly tire noise so a different set may solve that. Great ride, decent pickup.

I read all the reviews on the Pilot they were wonderful and then I bought one - a 2007 and I hate it. The gas mileage is terrible, I hate how car mfg lie. I get 11-13 city and most on the hwy is 20.5. The dealer keeps making excuses for the poor mpg. I have already had a intake senor replaced - it did not help. So what good is the ECO light staying on to cut out the cylinder so get you better mpg. What JOKE! My husband's F150 gets more consistent mileage then the pilot. Will never buy another Honda (this was my first and last)

I owned a jeep, and the Honda is much more reliable. I only go the the dealership for scheduled maintenance, and minor problems. I would recommend this vehicle to the person who is very busy in their life, and does not want to go to the dealership every week for problems. When you don't drive aggressive, the mileage is acceptable for the size. If you drive hard, the mileage will decrease. I would purchase another one. This is my first Honda. You really do not have to purchase any other brand!

I bought Pilot EXL AWD over a year back and thought I would use it for a while before I did the review. A year and 10K miles later, I am completely satisfied with my Pilot. This vehicle gives you the practicality of a minivan or close without having to buy a minivan. The vehicle has good ergonomics and the lot of nice storage compartments, etc. It handles well and gives about 21.5 mpg on the highway and about 16 ~17 in the city. The third row seats are excellent, for moderate sized adults. Great Value for Money.

Whatever nice features this car might have they pale when you consider the gas consumption. Don't believe the rated MPG. It is much worse. I get 10 MPG in the city and 17 on the highway. The car has over 20,000 miles so it is definitely past the break-in period.

5 of last 6 cars my wife & I owned were Honda's. We are very satisfied with them and the Pilot is no exception. It rides well & has great driver's seat room (I am 6' 4"). You definitely won't feel cramped in the car. It also is very quiet. After 5000 miles I average 13 miles to gallon, but I only drive in the city. I was looking more for the 17 it said on the sticker. If it were not for the gas I would say this car is fantastic!

We leased this 2007 pilot 4wd LX. I break-in this SUV very well so now I can get 0-60 mph w/in 6 seconds. MPG is average for an SUV. Driving is great, especially in the snow, but not in dynamic actions. A lot of noise in rough roads, but like riding on a boat while in highways.Engine and transmission are great!

We have owned our Pilot for 8 months and have been very happy with it. We were looking for a smaller SUV that could still seat 8 people if needed. The back seats are cramped when you have 8 people or children in the car but are adequate for short trips. The acceleration is good and it has a tighter turning radius than our last vehicle (Chevy Impala) which makes it nice for parking. The fuel mileage isn't all I had hoped that it would be - about 16-18 mpg city and about 22 highway. Doesn't have automatic headlights which took some time getting used to.

I leased my 2007 Honda Pilot last year in summer. Just after getting home with it I heard the horror stories about mice. I thought OK so maybe some people have problems with mice. Hopefully I don't. No such luck, I just got back from paying the dealership to remove a mouse from the blower housing. Wonderful! This is not a small problem apparently, this is a big one! Honda has been very silent about this longstanding problem and is not stepping up to the plate to solve it. I must say that we have had mostly Chev/GMC products up to this Honda and we have NEVER had a problem with mice. I am thinking of putting signs on the windows of my Honda advertising what a mouse house it is!

I have had my Pilot for just over a year and have enjoyed it minus a few exceptions. A clip of some type either came off or was not put on (somewhere connected to the transmission) in the first place leaving me unable to move in the middle of traffic. NOT GOOD. I called the dealer from the road and they towed me in, fixed the the ride in about 3 or 4 days. This left me with one vehicle. I wasn't given a good enough explanation of what happened but no problem with that to date. The subwoofer is either popping or rattling the areas next to it. My dealer so far has not been able to fix the problem to my satisfaction. Finally there is a slight pull to the left I will see if the dealer can adjust.

Hoping this was a good cross for road trips AND towing, it good only on road trips. Quiet, comfortable and great ergonomics inside. Typically SUV, bulky to drive/handle. Terrific reliability. In short a great people and stuff hauler It is not a good towing vehicle. I have a 2700# tent trailer (when fully loaded) and the rear end drops considerably and with the severe cut off on the headlights, night driving is hazardous due to oncoming traffic high beam warning flashing. It doesn't have anywhere near a low gear going down grades and is clearly not an off road vehicle. Summary: terrific land cruiser, not good tower, especially at night and on any sigificant decline.

I purchased this vehicle for my wife who stays home with our 1 year old son at the time. So I wanted safety number one and the ability to haul everything you must take when traveling with a toddler. The Pilot does a great job in all respects. It made the 8 hour drive to North Dakota much tolerable with its large cabin space and also large cargo area with the 3rd row seat folder down. It rides high so you would not want to make any sudden moves on the highway as it does seem a bit tippy, but on the other hand you need the clearance in Wisconsin if you are ever to make it up north. I give the Pilot props for comfort and cargo room and negative for fuel economy tippy feeling.

We have been driving this vehicle for about 6 months and have been very satisfied. My wife is the primary driver, and loves how it drives and carries our 2 children (2 and 4 years old). We previously owned a 2000 Odyssey, which may have had more interior space, but we prefer the SUV layout the Pilot provides. The fold down seats in the rear provide adequate flexibility when choosing to haul people or cargo. The fuel economy is close to, if not better than the van, however we have the variable cylinder engine. Overall this is a great alternative to the 'Mini-Van'!

I own a 02 Odyssey EXL and a 07 Pilot EXL. The family prefers the Odyssey overwhelmingly than the Pilot. The Pilot is nice when travelling alone or with the missus. The kids (I have two) constantly complains that it is too cramped and they're only three and five. The Odyssey just provides better value in terms of comfort, cargo room, and gas mileage. The Pilot is the vehicle I use to travel to work. On the weekends, it is strictly the Odyssey with the family.

I did lots of research on this vehicle and its competitors, like the GMC Acadia, Mazda CX-9, Ford Explorer, etc. the Pilot was my best choice overall for interior quality, space and design. Honda's reputation superceeds most makes and reliability is something I am confident about. Well, except for the two loose tranny-to-subframe bolts which the dealer fixed about a month ago. We have three small boys in car seats and they all fit in the 2nd row, or two in the 3rd. with all the accessories, cherry color, $29,500 purchase price (best value for the money), safety features, confort, and reliabity, the Pilot has the whole family very happy. We are averaging 21 m/g city and highway.

I've had my Pilot for 4 months and drive it mostly in town but took one extended 2,400 trip. We're very pleased so far. We've found excellent build quality and reliability. Mileage has been good; 18.7 in city and 24.8 on the highway (65+/-). I'm 6-1 and drove 14 hours one day and rode in the backback seat for 10 hours another day. The front seats are very comfortable for extended periods and the backback seat was better than I thought it would be. My wife loves the shifter because it frees up the console area. Steering and engine are great, ride is good, and after getting a good EOY deal, it was $8k less than the Acadia/Enclave I shopped. My insurance premiums are less than my old Passport.

Nice vehicle that is built on a Civic chassis. Yet, it lacks the power and guts that the dealer states it has...which is a total letdown. The back seats are very poor..it is almost more comfortable sitting plastic seats in the bleachers! The back seating is not made for long distance trips, just trips that are less than a mile long to the local store...think twice about these seats if you care about your guests! Where is the power in this vehicle...it struggles to pull what it is designed to pull. The gas mileage is not was it is stated on this site...it is less more like 13 and 17. Be advised twice before you purchase! BTW, there is no AWD in this vehicle..just a myth!

The Honda pilot may have been around for a while but still is very reliable and offers plenty of space and safety comparable to the new CUV .and it is the only CUV that has a true 4x4 ability . It also has great resale value and the look is still appealing like a 4x4 should look not curvy, intruding on the interior headroom . I can fit 8 people in a pinch. Gas mileage isn't bad compared to other CUVs.

I own this vehicle for 8 months and have over 9000 miles on it. At first I was totally surprised at the outrageous fuel consumption, getting from 9-12 MPG in the city. The dealership and Honda customer reps kept reassuring me that it will get better as the car gets more miles. THEY LIED. THE MPG STILL SUCKS. What's worse is that there is nothing you can do about it. Car manufacturers get a lot of levity in how they advertise fuel consumption.

Before this one we have a leased Pilot EX-L 2004. The Honda reputation, the 8 seats, the design, and the solidness, have convinced that there is no other car in the market for me. Just bought a new 2007 Pilot EX-L with Navigation and paid a very competitive price, thanks to Honda aggresive incentive to end the 2007 stock. I know there is a new designed Pilot coming out, but the true is that I like the current square shape. I little wood inside will be a plus. The fuel economy isn't good, but the vehicle is strong and is still a car-body-frame easy and fun to drive. The new pilot brings sunroof, foglights, oil life measure, and a ccouple other extra features. I'm very satisfied after 3 years.

It now has 5K miles, and has really proven itself to be the ultimate in practical suburban family vehicle. We also looked at the 07 Highlander, and nearly fell asleep at the wheel in the showroom. Also considered a certified X3, but cargo area way too small. The Pilot is no Ferrari, but it is predictable, comfortable and sure footed. We have taken it on several comfortable weekend road trips. When my died-in-the-wool car snob father drove it (drives a Lexus GX & BMW Z3) said "wow, this is impressive!

This truck was a great value. There was a $2000 rebate when I bought and no other truck could compete with for features at the price. I've had the truck for a few months (2200 miles). The truck drives great and the interior is beautiful (big and comfortable). The exterior is boxy, but not bad. The only negative is the MPG. I read the reviews and knew it wasn't going to be great (I was expecting 15-17 mpg). I don't drive in the city and I only get 14 MPG.

What is not to like about this vehichle. We have had it for 4 months and love the room, the features and the quality of this vehicle. If I was going to complain it would be regarding gas mileage but that was known at the time of the purchase. I would strongly recommend this vehichle. I just wish I would have purchased several years ago instead of buying a Mercury.

The smoothness of the ride and quietness of the Pilot is more than we ever expected. The interior has so much room and it's exactly what we wished for, for retirement. Seats are perfect for us, handling is perfect. Fuel mileage is very good for a SUV. Vision is forever...engine is quiet...all the power needed when you ask for it...the 5 star safety rating is a tremendous selling point. We love the look of the Pilot. The controls for air conditioning and heating in the rear seat area are great. My wife and her girl friend normally use the heat while her husband and I use the air conditioning up front...no more, honey would you turn the air down, it's cold in here, lol... Thanks Honda!

First off, for all of you complaining about the gas mileage, you're nuts. I have a Dodge Durango and the Pilot. There is no comparison whatsoever. For the 3k miles we have put on it, we are averaging about 21 mpg. Now if you have the 4x4 version, I can see a decrease. But all you others probably just have a lead foot! There are only two negatives that I have with the Pilot. First, the front driver side leg room is not what I would like it to be. Second, the back door is a pain in the rear to close sometimes. I wish they would have made it about 1/2 a foot longer, then a tall guy like me would not have any issues up front! If you buy one, you will fall in love with it!

This is our first SUV and I couldn't be happier. We wanted a vehicle large enough for our family of four to travel comfortably on road trips, but not too big that we would spend a fortune on gas. We contemplated a mini van but wanted something more sporty without sacrificing interior room. The Pilot is perfect for us! It's fun to drive, comfortable and looks great. I highly recommend this vehicle!

I have owned many fine cars including Infiniti, Toyota, and Mazda. This vehicle tops them all. Very comfortable in long drives, great cargo room, and room for 7 easily. Great economy for size and easy to maintain. Great power when needed and great visibility. The only negative, and it's minor, a slight blind spot when checking traffic from the right due to post angle. Other than that, I rank this SUV as best in class.

I bought my Pilot a few weeks ago after a lengthy search that included other SUVs like the Pathfinder and 4Runner. The price and the Honda name helped me to decide on the Pilot. We bought a new EX-L Pilot with leather and aftermarket navigation. We also purchased a 7x100k extended warranty. I could not be happier with the decision both financially and with the SUV itself. The Pilot runs great, gives decent gas mileage and has more room than I know what to do with. I have always been a car person but now I don't think I can go back. The exterior is somewhat plain and is by no means a head turner but the interior layout and design is excellent. I would recommend this SUV.

Just purchased 2007 Pilot EX-L w/ Nav. The perfect family vehicle w/o sacrificing style and practicality. Gas mileage is acceptable for its class and size, this comming from a previous Civic owner. Overall best value for space and comfort. Decision was based between the Honda Pilot and Toyota Sienna.

I have owned my Pilot for a few weeks now and have not been disappointed. Gas mileage is acceptable for SUV - getting no worse than previous minivan while providing a very comfortable ride. Compared to '08 Nissan Pathfinder and '07 Saturn Outlook, the Pilot can be purchased for thousands less when comparably equipped while giving the owner a very handsome trade-in value down the road. Vehicle has excellent fit and finish both inside and out.

This has been a great vehicle for us. Enough room for our stuff and our dog and still room for the additional family member coming in about 7 months. But look out if you have to replace certain parts. $275 fog light assembly plus 1 hour labor to remove the entire bumper cover because the fog light was hit with a rock. Hopefully insurance will cover, but what if it had just burned out? $400 for a lightbulb? Sad that such a great car has such poor design qualities.

First SUV and what a winner. Wanted to go cheaper and needed cargo space, so I just went with the FWD. I've had it for 2 months. Fun to drive. Step on the gas and you are flying, if need to. A little wider in the garage than I am used to. I'm reading all these reviews on the poor mileage and my ride to work, with mixed stop and go and some highway, I'm getting 20 MPG. Doesn't like the road trips with with higher speeds. Only 23 MPG, even with that ECO feature that shuts down three cylinders. Good looking vehicle.

I spent a lot of time looking at all the SUV in the 25-35k price range and went to look at each of them. The Honda Pilot EX-L with Navi has them all beat. The car is extremely solid and is very roomy. So far I have owned it for a week and I love it. It drives like a car but has the functionality of a SUV. To own a fully loaded SUV for under $30000 (sticker price $36,000) is amazing. It comes with all the cool gadget as Lexus -$15,000 price tag. It is truly worth the money and will keep its value over the years.

My 1st SUV and probably last since I am a "car-guy", but needed this for family reasons for a few years. The airflow over the front fascia is such that every insect within 5 miles will splatter on your windshield. I've had more splats on my windshield in the past 10 months than I've had in 30+ years of driving. Windex, scouring pads and I have become very close!

With 1K miles on it now, I'm positive I made the right decision getting the Pilot. I'm not sure why all the negative posts about mileage. It's an SUV folks. They all get poor mileage but the Pilot is amoung the best in class. On a 450 mile trip, I averaged 22.9 mpg cruising at 70 mph. My old Grand Cherokee wouldn't even come close with its antiquated inline 6. I bought this with gas prices over $3 per gallon knowing full well it wasn't going to be cheap to run. For those wanting better mileage, get a Civic. We were only considering Subaru / Toyota / Honda SUV's when we were shopping. The Honda had the best combination of features vs. price point.

Came down to between this and a Highlander. We didn't go with that due to a more cramped interior with much less interior storage space vs. the Pilot. Car is well executed inside and out. Driving experience is consistent with expectations. Smooth drive train, pleasant ride. Reliability has been good to date. Mileage is a bit disappointing, but about what I expected. Averaging 18-20 mpg in mixed driving in first 7K miles, which isn't too bad considering power and weight of car.

I loved the mileage on my hybrid but I was having a hard time getting in and out and we travel alot now and needed more room. Only 2 tanks of gas through it so far, first tank combined was 20 mpg. The 2nd tank was all city and was a little over 15 mpg. I averaged over 40 with my hybrid. I love the room and the ride. Mileage is much better then the 2002 Dodge Ram 4 door pickup (6/14) I traded for the hybrid. It is quiter than the Civic and much easier to get in and out of. I feel safer driving it. I did not want 4 WD and the VCM helps with the milage. I have owned a lot of vehicals in my 60 plus years and this one is right up there with the best I have owned. Thank you Honda.

Drive quality is fantastic and I am so glad that I got a car with third row seating so I can seperate my young boys. Car has tons of space for storage between seats and also in the back. I was driving a Volvo X-country that I loved and vowed not to go any bigger. (I am not a minivan person). However, 2 children and friends later, we were looking. This Pilot drives like a dream, is easy to park and does not feel big to drive, but is very spacious inside. I love all the compartments and I love the safety ratings and rear airbags. In my younger day I had a Mustang and I have to tell you that I find this Pilot AS FUN to drive! I find the pick-up very good and find myself looking down and saying "oops! driving too fast"- very smooth ride. My kids love it too. It is an SUV, so I am not fazed by the gas mileage but I find it the same as ads. We did test others but Pilot is the best.

I had been planning on a 2007 CR-V but decided that I should drive a couple others before making a decision. I drove the Pilot and loved the ride and power. I knew then that I was kidding myself into thinking I would be OK with the CR-V acceleration. I picked out an LX. I didn't have much need for the extras that came with the EX. I prefer the cloth interior and it doesn't bother me to insert another cd when I am done listening to one. I am actually more of a talk radio type. I do miss the automatic light shutoff. I have to wonder why Honda would have that feature on the LX Accord and not on the LX Pilot. Exiting the back seat seems clumsy.

I've only had my Pilot for 3 days, but I am absolutely sold on Honda now! We looked at all of the midsize SUVs and for the money, this was the best value hands down. I love the fact that all side curtain airbags come standard, and that shoulder belts are available for all passengers, even in the 3rd row. There is virtually no road noise, and it rides like a dream. I just love everything about this vehicle so far! Just waiting to check the mileage... hoping it gets what the sticker says it will. I feel great about having this as our family car - I was sold as soon as I saw the safety ratings. If you are looking for a lot of bang for your buck, test drive the Pilot!

Having a Honda minivan, we thought that the Pilot would be a no-brainer purchase. We were wrong. The mileage is so far off on this SUV that it's criminal. I don't think I broke 11-12 mpg on the highway going 55-60 without any cargo or other passengers. The engine is underpowered if you are driving a vehicle that actually contains passengers. The interior is nice, the sound system is good, and all the guages are nicely layed out. The car comes with very little coverage (which is why Honda Care is so strongly "encouraged." After putting some miles on, I am beginning to hear a lot creaking.

I test drove a Honda Pilot, then a couple other SUVs, my 7 yr. old son got out of the Nissan that I drove and said "Gee Mom, that was not as comfortable as the Honda", he was right! They really put some thought into designing it. I have owned my Pilot for 6 months now, and I really enjoy it!

After a lot of research and many test drives, the Honda Pilot was the one that grabbed my heart. I always did like Honda because they are generally very reliable vehicles. I love the interior design and the comfortable ride the Pilot offers. It really fits all of my family needs.

I looked at almost every vehicle out there before deciding on the Honda Pilot. I couldn't be happier. The suv/car does everything right. It's a major improvement over my 2004 Dodge Durango (lease ended)- it's quieter, quicker throttle response, more comfortable, and mostly more fun than most of the vehicles that I looked at, including Nissan Murano, Dodge Magnum, Chrysler Pacifica and especially my Dodge Durango. I love it! and I have already suggested that my friends test drive it to see for themselves. I got a really nice lease deal on the car which helps me say a lot of nice things about it.

This vehicle is just what the reviews say it is. Safe, great handling in the snow, quiet and well designed. I am disappointed with the mpg's but the overall quality of the Pilot makes up for it. Having moved from a van, I was hoping for a few more crossover options, auto-close rear, rear windows that open, dusk-on lights and mid-row seats that recline a bit more especially with the DVD system for the kids. The layout is well thought out with all the needed instruments at your fingertips. The ride is so much more smooth than most SUVs the purchase was a cinch.

The fuel consumption estimate on the sales sticker states 17 MPG city and 22 MPG highway. I get from 9 to 12 MPG. Dealer keeps telling me to wait for the engine to break in but as I put more miles on this gas guzzler, the fuel efficiency is getting worse.

I tested in snow by taking it for a spin, and it maintained its grip on the pavement. Engine sounds powerful and responsive. My biggest issue is with the mileage claim. Honda say 17/22, and I have consistently getting no more than 18 miles on mostly highway drive.

I got this because me and the wife needed not only the extra space, but also something that would not strand us when it snows. It has all the safety features we need for our two boys (2 yrs and one on the way). It yelled at my wife for not buckling up! That was awesome. The Pilot handles like a dream. Whenever I need that extra kick, it gives it to me. On the snow, it responds smoothly with no shakiness. I don't know what others had, but my wheels have not shaking going past 65. I have gone as fast as 85 with no waggle. But the road noise was something else.

Compared to our previous SUV which was a 4 Runner from Toyota, the Honda Pilot appears to be a more solid vehicle. It gives you a great sense of security.

I bought this vehicle because my family and I did not want a mini van. The Pilot is excellent in all ways because of not only safety but comfort, and reliability. The Navi is great and we got the pilot for $5000 off msrp! The only quirk with the pilot is it seems to hesitate during acceleration and the dealer couldn't duplicate it. But other than that this car just ROCKS in almost every way!

I've had my new Pilot for a month now. Smooth ride, comfortable seating, large cargo area with third row folded flat. Gas mileage has been as advertised (18+ city), just don't gun it off the line and you'll be fine. Crossbars on roof rack should be standard. Don't notice the front-end wobbling at high speeds, others have complained about.

We bought this vehicle mostly because we disliked it the least. Coming out of driving only cars, I am appalled at how poorly this thing handles. Steering response is so slow mushy that I feel like I am sending signals to the engine room ("hard aport!") whenever I make a steering adjustment. Also, I was very surprised that the 6disk CD changer does not play mp3 encoded disks. On the plus side, the build quality is excellent, the engine is quite and responsive and the seating arrangement is very versatile

So far this vehicle has exceeded my expectations. My combined mileage has been 19 MPG and as advertised, 22 MPG straight out highway driving. Cabin noise level is very quiet. What little road noise there is, comes from the cheap Goodyear tires. I have read a few online reviews about "drive line vibes" but even up to 90 MPH, my Pilot is very smooth and drives very tight. We have had 2 snowfalls recently; the 4WD works great and the vehicle gets excellent traction. The Pilot drives, rides and performs much better than the Grand Cherokee, Explorer and Four Runner. These vehicles don't compare in quality either.

Zero problems after 4.5 months. Very useful storage space. Acceptable boat towing capability except for frequent shifts at highway speeds. Transmission is very smooth, and acceleration is quite good considering the tiny engine. Disappointing highway gas mileage to date has only been approximately 20 mpg. Climate control and audio systems are excellent. People comfort in the first two rows is very good. Third row is folded down for additional storage, and will never be used. Handling is okay. Brakes are easy to modulate, but panic stops require more pressure than any of my other recent vehicles. A very satisfactory but not a spectacular vehicle.

I got 2k off of invoice to buy the Pilot in January. The EX-L MSRP is $33,840, the invoice was $30,530 and I paid $28,530. How can you go wrong? Great truck! The new Acura (visions of the new Pilot) doesn't really make me want to wait and buy at or near sticker. I think it is well equipped, very comfortable and as safe as any vehicle on the road. I was considering a Benz or BMW but everyone I talk to that has one says you have to sell before the warranty is up. As good as any vehicle for the money- it is a depreciating asset. I wish there were better colors. I have no idea what some others have said about a vibration at 55mph. They must need a tire balance. GREAT TRUCK BUY IT!

I love my Pilot. I strayed from Honda with my last vehicle being a Toyota. I thought the quality were similar. I was wrong! Owned Honda's since the early 90's and never regretted it once. I feel extremely safe in my Pilot. Quiet ride although it is still a truck. Very little leaning taking corners at higher speeds. Really holds to the road. Extremely roomy and comfortable. If you are trying to decide to buy this vehicle, do it. You wont regret it.

Had an 06 Accord EX-L and then bought the 07 Pilot EX-L. The engine, transmission, and 4WD system are all flawless..."Effortless engagement" are the two words that come to mind when describing these systems. The engine is silky smooth and near silent. The tranny is always in the right gear and never misses a beat. You can barely feel the tug when the rear wheels kick in. Considering the size and weight of the vehicle rides almost as nice as the Accord. Love the size and interior space, great for hauling loads of just about anything around. Could have bought any SUV manufactured by the big 3 and save thousands but still chose the Pilot. Simply put, "It's a Honda."

Performance, in several different facets, is near top of the line. The handling around turns for a vehicle of that size is jaw dropping to me having been previously accustomed to driving an Explorer for 6 years. I was initially somewhat skeptical that an engine displacement of "only" 3.5 L was enough to get the kick in the pants sometimes required to merge into tight traffic. Again, very impressed with the Honda VTEC engine. Its operation is very smooth, quiet and very responsive when getting into the higher RPMs thanks to the variable valve timing. It's more acceleration than I'll ever need for daily commuting. Plenty of room for passengers in three rows of seating.

Beware before you buy a Honda Pilot. The car has lots of peep, but that is about it. After 65 mph, the front wheel shakes like crazy ( there are hundreds of complaints on the web about this). Honda cannot find the problem. We took the car there 7-8 times!!!!! Next, after a few months, smoke began pouring out of the A.C. and could not be driven. Then a few weeks ago, an electric problem stranded my wife and daughter (who was coming home from the Doctor). The next week, the same thing happened again. Finally, the gas mileage is HORRIBLE. Just as bad as my Ford Expedition. The EPA of 17/22 is not even close!!!!!

I truly Love driving the Pilot. However, it's been back to the Dealership at least 8-10 times, for numerous problems. Seven times for the same problem. I worked for Honda as the Finance Director for 15 years, and brought in hundreds of Customers.I'm in the process of going directly to the top of Honda for help. The problems I have had,are unbelievable. I've owned 5 Honda's and Love them, my commuter has 162,000 miles, and I Love the Pilot. However, I will NOT KEEP THIS CAR. Things happen, and WOW, I have had too many problems to write about. They say they can't duplicate the problem? I have 2 major problems, and, I've had 7- 8 others, they fixed. However, the 2 Major PROBLEMS THEY CAN'T?

Went with the 2007 Pilot over the CRV to get extra space as we often total 4 adult passengers, and sometimes more. CRV felt a little tight for 4 tops. Preferred the superior quality of the leather in the Pilot. CRV leather felt thin and has a tufted look, which some may prefer, but we don't. CRV felt somewhat underpowered, but not too bad. No question the Pilot has plenty of power. Overall very pleased with the Pilot. Expecting it will do well in the snow if we get any.

I paid $3,000. less than I was quoted on the Toyota Highlander and this is a good bit larger vehicle. This has got to be the best SUV in this size class. Before purchasing I check the sales prices of 3 yr. old Pilots with over 50,000 miles and they were selling for only $5,000. less than I paid for thes 2007 model. How's that for not much depreciation!

What we found that at several thousands less and with all of the features we wanted, including Rear backup camera and DVD navigation we couldn't shy away from the value this vehicle has to offer. With the money we saved we opted for several accessories to add some class such as wood trim and chrome tubes steps and we still only hit the $31,000 mark. We got a great deal and a awesome car. This vehicle's MSRp with Accessories is over $36,000 wow. You won't be disappointed. One note though, if there is any thing I would change it would be a tighter or firmer steering

This Pilot (AWD with NAV) replaces my 2003 Infinti FX35. The FX was a great vehicle with three exceptions. Very poor seating, driver seat power buttons under your right leg, Extremely rough ride in rear seat when driving on anything other than a very smooth road, and very poor visibility due to rounded design. Honda, on the other hand has excellent visibility, plenty of glass area, plus third row seating, and runs on regular gas plus most of the options I had on the Infiniti for $14,000.less at sticker. After looking at big sister Acura, decided to stay with little sister, Honda Pilot. The family is soon to grow again so we decided to swap out the '03 CRV. While the mileage suffered (not surprisingly), we're so happy with our decision to go with the Pilot. It's a blast to drive and has so many handy little features that we didn't realize we were missing out on. Incredibly solid on the road -- feels very substantial without feeling just plain BIG. We're just hoping this thing performs as well in snow as the CRV did (I've read less than stellar reviews on the Goodyear Integrity tires that come on the Pilot). So far, we love it.

I picked up my pilot a week ago, love driving it. It drives like a car, not a truck.

Car is a little too big for my original needs but it is better to have more space than less. Fuel economy reasonable for its size. Seat a little hard to get comfortable in-- I am very big. Well made, peppy, lots of creature comforts. Nav system a fun toy. Back up camera useful. All in all an excellent value.

For my wife and she loves it!

Looked for an SUV for my wife for 6 months, including BMW, M-B, others. My wife didn't give the OK until she drove the Pilot. Lots of bells/whistles, but well laid out & easy to use. It's incredibly well- equipped, with pleasant surprises everywhere. She raves about it, and her friends want the salesman's card!

We have two (2) Pilots

I know, I know, to have two of the same vehicle sounds different however we cross the continental divide often in the winter. We liked front wheel drive (had a minivan) but having an extra two drive wheels has been often reassuring. One of us is not very hip on the outside design but is comforted by their quality mechanicals. Most people who ride in them comment that they will seriously consider buying one also. Plainly, that is what sells these Pilots! Looking to motor in them for at least 10 years or 200,000 miles whichever comes first.

I have a 2007 Mercedes SL550, and needed a winter vehicle. I bought the Honda Pilot. Enough said.

There is only one area i'm not having fun with, which is the blower. When I have the blower Off, - I can still feel air blowing on me - I hoped I can change to have the blower blow only on the window but that is not an option the defogger/window blower also blows with face or foot. This is very uncomforatble - I wish newer version would have this as an option - i.e no blow when off or blower to window only and and not combined with face or foot

A great car to drive. My first car with navigation system don't know how i survived without it. My previous suv was an Accura MDX. The Honda pilot is as good if not better at $7000 less in cost.

Enjoyable!

I picked up my 07 Pilot today. This is my second Pilot. It is comfortable, stylish and responsive. I wish the mpg were better, but it's a vast improvement over my old SUV, a 98 Range Rover!
