We bought this van used with 52,465 miles. From the first month we have had problems. First bad seals and now transmission issues. It doesn't happen all of the time, but I put the van in drive, push the accelerator and nothing happens. The RPMs go up, but the van won't go forward. I have had to have my van towed to the dealership twice, and of course it works fine when it gets there. After a Google search it appears I am not the only person having this issue. I think it is time for Nissan to step up and fix this issue. This is our main family vehicle and it is not reliable.

I purchased my 2006 Nissan Quest in Jan. 2007 because Hawaii passed a law that children under the age of 8 and weight of less than 80# has to be in a child seat. Because I had a small car and could only put 2 of my 6 grandchildren and nephew and niece in the car at one time I had to get a bigger car. So I picked up the Quest. The side door glide covers fell off while driving and damaged the car. The passenger front seat door was making a whistling sound like the window wasn't close properly. found out the decorative panel was loose. the lights kept falling off the ceiling, the driver's visor kept falling down and dangling in front of the driver. the AC vents fall of the ceiling. Junk car! 2016 update: I had to replace brakes 2x already, Since there is only 2 gears I constantly have to break going downhill. I have changed my transmission already at 79,000 miles and I have to change the shocks/struts (what ever this car has!) My headlights are foggy which makes night visibility poor!

NEVER AGAIN.

From what I have been reading, I have been lucky cause I havent had this many problems but all in all if I had to do it again, I wouldnt. Bought it new in July of 2006, I wanted the Honda but wifey liked the Nissan and since its primarily her car I went with it, mistake right there. I do admit I like the roominess of it but thats where it stops. We have only had 49000 miles on it in 6 1/2 years but so far nothing major but its the little things. First of all, its not very quiet, its made cheap from the inside, yes our vents fall off too. The rear sliding door started making noise while driving and dealer kept lubricating but nothing.

We bought this van brand new in 2006. The tires that came with it needed replacing after one year. The driver and passendger sun visors keep breaking off. We have replaced them 3 times over the years. The interior light fixtures and air vents fall out regularly. Cup holders broke off. Seat folding handle is broken. C/D player broke after the 2nd year. The bearings needed to be replaced at around 75,000 miles. Right now at 94,000 miles the a/c is not working and the catalytic converter needs to be replaced. Also, the dashboard indicator lights are not reliable. Have recently replaced the alternator - $500.

I bought my Quest brand new in january 2006 and I take good care of it, always have. It has paid me back well since I have never had any engine problems and it's going on 128,000 miles now. this van has taken me and my family everywhere. the only thing i have replaced is the engine mounts, one catalytic converter and lower control arms all after hitting the 5 year mark. it was expensive to replace these but considering the amount of driving i've done on it i didn't feel too bad and chalked it up to wear and tear. as far as the engine goes, no problemo! still running smooth like new! just take care of it and do not neglect regular maintenance services and this van will keep running well......

We bought it new and has been a blessing since. It is almost 110,000 klicks now and I have only replaced the battery and brakes once. We take care of the van with scheduled services. We go on road trips three times a year with it and the whole family loves it. It is very gas efficient on the highway and very roomy and comfortable. There is always adequate room for luggage if you know how to pack in an organized fashion. If it is only four of us, we fold the third row and we do not even fold up or stack our luggage. We go on trips with another couple two times a year and they love it too. First comment is always "wow, it is so roomy!!" The engine has a lot of power on the road.

My van & I have a love hate relationship. My husband wanted me to get a Tahoe, but I got the van. He warmed up to it because of the comfortable interior. We drove this on a huge summer trip, and found it to be the perfect family vehicle TONS of room. Thank God for the warranty, at 99,000 mi I had to have both front wheel barrings replaced. Factory tires lasted all of 20,000. Brakes have been replaced 2x. Catalytic converter has to be replaced. Automatic side door now demon possessed. (Seriously). HORRIBLE gas mileage. I have never gotten better than 18 mpg, and I drive on a hwy on cruise everyday. It has been great for small children, but it's growing old.

Great four years, then problems.

Van fine until 2009. Brakes went out completely. Cost of new ones $650. April 2010, new belts, catalytic converter and motor mount replaced. Repair cost $600. Plus. Convertor covered under warranty. July, 2010, timing chain replaced and one belt which was replaced in April. Repairs $2,400. Current mileage 82,000. Disappointed in repairs needed over a one year period approx. $4,500. Unsure about purchasing a foreign car again. Had a Ford van previously, because of front end problem and possible transmission, traded at approx. 80,000. Miles. Also, 2 or 3 cross country trips, one pulling a small trailer. Wish we had repaired the Ford.

We bought this van with 13 miles on it. Have since had to take it for repairs more times than you should for a NEW vehicle that we paid over $34,000 for. Ridiculous things such as the driver's visor, breaking six times! Have had the heater in driver's seat replaced and it still does not work. Heater control only works if you strangle it. Drivers window motor replaced in first six months.I do not have the time to have take it in everytime something breaks, especially as things break repeatedly!!!! Dealer was unsympathetic, perhaps not surprised? We have also had the breaks done and new tires, which seem to have little effect on how crappy it drives. Will NEVER BUY Nissan EVER again!

Highly dissappointed!!!!

To make a long story short. I've had my van for 3 1/2 yrs. Now... I've spent 1500 to repair a pair in the engine and the service depart. Did not fix the problem... When I return the van 2 days later they decided that it was now the transmission that needed to b replaced (which they would pay 1/2) after I'd already spend 1500. I've had new brakes front and back and new rotors... I've spent at least 2500 in 09 for repairs! Not happy at all with this van..

I have driven other vans at work;however, when I test drove this van I was impressed. I had my heart set on a Maxima but the wife quickly changed that. We ended up buying this van and I have no regrets. I live in an area where its HOT. This van handles the climate well. I took the van out of town and was surprised with both the gas mileage and performance. I have taken my radar detector out of storage and now use it in this van. The only complaint I have is the interior controls seem cheap. Nissan should look into better quality parts.

I loved this car the first year. However, the wheel bearings have had to be replaced on two separate occasions. One around 46,000 miles the next 4000 miles later. Passenger sliding door does not stop when I am in door frame. Pushes hard and I have to work to stand up against it before it reverses if it does. Worried about if kids are in frame and potential for fingers or even worse torso or head getting crushed in door shutting.

Sold my 05 Altima and bought the 06 Quest at a BARGAIN and love it. My family is growing and we needed more room and comfort, and that's exactly what we got. My husband had the front windows and windshield tinted and that really made a difference on the interior "glare" that I have heard some complain about. The center mounted gauges take some getting used to but overall no complaints. Dual sliding doors and power lift gate are wonderful. DVD player is excellent and fun to have. I have read many unfavorable reviews but I have had no problems and I LOVE IT.

We have owned our 2006 Quest for 2-1/2 years. It has 61,000 miles. All recommended service performed by Dealer. Although the van has been reliable till recently, the transmission went out two weeks ago (1,000 miles outside the warranty period). After much (too much) debate and pleading, Nissan covered the repair ($4100). When we picked the van up from our dealer, the windshield was busted... we're still debating their responsibility. I find the seats to be very roomy but uncomfortable. Front seat feels like you are sliding out of them toward the steering wheel, makes you kind of hold on to wheel to brace yourself all the time. Original Goodyear tires were noisy and wore poorly.

We bought a demo model of the Quest which was fully loaded (DVD, navigation, wireless headphones, leather, power everything, etc..) It's back in the shop for the FOURTH time as the rear lift gate arm keep breaking off. Now Nissan has to replace the entire rear lift gate and arm (the bolt the lift arm connects to is integrated into the entire door and is stripped). The dealer tried repairing it 3 times previously, replaced the lift arm twice, and every time it breaks of within a matter of weeks. The quality of the components is very, very bad. We had the cover on a power outlet break off, same with a handle on the middle seat. Now we're scared because it just went beyond 36,000mi.

We bought our Quest for the room and outside design. The room is great and we enjoy all the bells and whistles, such as the DVD and radio, cd changer. We are not very happy with quality of the van. We have had the weather stripping replaced 2 times, the gas gauge shows empty sometimes after filling up, I actually was so embarrassed at the gas station when I went in to tell them that the pump must be broken, because there was no gas in my car, but the pump charged me. Come to find out it was the defect in the car that made it not register. It has done this several times since. We are now having problems with it spark knocking and losing power like it is running out of gas.

We are SO relieved to get rid of this junk. We traded our Nissan minivan in for a new Toyota Sienna. The biggest difference is the customer service. Nissan was incompetent, unresponsive, and useless in solving our problems. We too settled with the Lemon Law Practice and cashed in after fighting for 2 years with Nissan headquarters. I even wrote a letter to the CEO himself. So much for the "customer is always right". After 11 recalls, 4 rentals, 19 visits in less than two years there were still problems. Nissan took the fun out of having a new vehicle. Toyota put the fun right back in! I have had the Toyota for nearly 4 months and not one problem. They have been terrific!

I bought my Quest in Washington, and then we got stationed here to Germany (we are military). I used to hate vans, and never thought I would own one. But after looking at it, seeing that there is a 5 star crash rating, and all the little extras the Special Edition has, I bought it, and I have no regrets! I LOVE this van! I take it on the autobahn from time to time and I got up to about 120mph w/no problems. I love the strong horsepower, great for passing cars on these little German roads. This van is not sold here in Germany, so I get stared at by the Germans everywhere I go, and have gotten countless compliments. They are most amazed by the power lift gate.

We bought our Quest new and have loved it! We have had no problems other than the weather stripping on top of the van coming off. We have them fixed and they come back off but the dealer always fixes them again. We actually got rear ended at 70 miles per hour shortly after buying this van and were very happy with the van in the accident, very minor bumper damage, due to crumple zone, and my 2 small children were not injured and neither was I, no whiplash or anything. We take our van on 1000 mile trips at least twice a yr to see family and it is great on trips, comfortable and no problems out of it. Recommend this van to anyone!! It's been great. Would definitely buy another Nissan!

This is my first minivan, as I too, was ambivalent about being a minivan mom, but I love it. It's roomy and sporty. I don't feel like I'm driving a big bulky van. I've taken several trips with it, and so far, no problems. I strongly suggest this van for those of you reluctant to finally admit you're a van person. It handles and corners like a sports car.

We just came from a 3200 mile driving vacation to the east coast and back to Kansas. Our van performed excellent and almost matched the rated mileage of 25 mpg. we got 24 mpg with the ac on, averaging 70 mph, and having the van fully loaded with people and cargo. We were happy about that. Also, all of our family that saw, rode in, and drove the van were very impress with the comfotable ride, power of the engine, roominess of the interior, and the cool design. No problems with the van whatsoever.

we've had the van for 3 months now and love it. It's an eye catcher, drives really smooth, has plenty of power and interior space. The gas tank doesn't fill up with 20 gallons but 16 so that saves us on gas allowance. I've been recommending the van to everyone that asks what is it and answer all their questions because I've also researched all the vans for a year and a half before we bought it with 5000 dollars off the sticker price. It was the best value for the high quality. Odyssey too overpriced and overrated, T&C/Caravan too unreliable, sienna not flexible enough with middle seats not able to fold down, and Sedona too heavy in total weight not flexible enough and unknown.

Going from a Camaro to an Altima and now to the Quest (Due to our ever growing family) Vehiclewise, some major adjustments have been made. I was very opposed to getting a van thinking that the "stigma" would be too great to deal with. I'll admit the 1st few times I drove the van I felt "older" but after you get over the stigma of "I'll never drive a minivan AKA grocery getter" it's actually nice! My children love the room and for now, they still think it's cool. The price was amazing and by far the Quest is the best looking van on the road. So far we have nothing major to complain about and things have been great! We love the comfort and roominess.

Don't buy this piece of junk unless you want to spend 2 trips a month. I traded it for a Toyota Sieanna and couldn't be happier. Things that went wrong were: - cranks forever - loss of power annually - powered sliding door keeps reversing and still isn't fixed. - vibrations at fwy speeds - gas gauge shows empty after a fill- up twice - passenger air bag shows off even when adult sits there - replaced radio keypad twice - lights falling out of ceiling - door panels coming off - glove compartment warped - shifter replaced - radio antenna weak - headrests are too far from your head so you can get a serious whiplash if you are rear-ended.

This is a very nice van. My only complaints are that the liftgate were misaligned when I bought the vehicle, and the "service engine soon" light came on before 1,000 miles. I believe the bugs are worked out now. Before I bought this van, I test drove the Honda Oddesey and the Toyota Sienna. This van is roomier than either. It has much better second row head room than the Oddesey, and handles much better than the Sienna. The 3.5L engine gives it plenty of pep. I like center mounted instrument panel, which is easy to see, and the controls are right where I need them. I bought this for several thousand less than a Honda or Toyota. Great job, Nissan!

This Quest was bought brand new. We took it on the first long trip vacation and the air compressor was frozen and belt was torn. We had to deal with Nissan service for the first time and it was a bad experience that I never had with a such low mileage (616 miles) and the air conditioning was being used the first time. I had another the chance I don't ever buy Nissan car again because of the service attitude.

This is the biggest van I could find. I searched them all and this one was by far the biggest with the most upgraded standard features. I love this van. It runs great and the kids love it. It's very comfortable and we have so much space to move around.

What a disappointment!

In one year of ownership, weather stripping came off, wheels needed re- alignment, back hatch squeaks/sticks, need to resurface rotors x 3, something in front engine cracked, air conditioner hisses, CD stuck in player, recall on middle seats, and key stuck in ignition for a day. Service department terrible, nickle and dime every possible way, try to justify needed repairs with "That's the way cars are made nowadays." Two negative response on customer survey given. No response from Nissan. Very sad. We LOVE the design and roominess. Will miss our van. Looking for new vehicle. Because of service department, will not buy Nissan, again.

Went from a Chrysler T&C to the Quest. Overall, the T&C was a much better vehicle. The Quest is nice but there are too many rattles and interior noise. There have been several problems with noisy rear doors and several other minor problems. While the Quest is visually striking, once you get past the looks and put it on the road you find out there needs to be more there than just looks. It just needs to be refined. It should not rattle like a panel van when driving. Also have issues with the armrest...if you sit with the seat fairly straight up, the armrest is angled downward and is useless. There is also window glare from the angle of the dash. Will be trading it for another T&C.

Think outside the box!!!!!

It is refreshing to find that minivans are fun to drive after all. I have been putting off purchasing a minivan and my wife finally won the battle. My 2 kids and dog refused to accept they were comfy in an SUV, despite my attempt to bribe them with ice cream and doggy treats. After test driving all minivans, the Quest proved to be the most spacious and most modern feeling of them all. It drives like a sportscar (at least in my mind it does:) ) Great spunky engine and the most comfortable interior (that I sat on) Visibility is far better than in the other vans in this class. I also liked that I saved some cash compared to the other models. Great value for your buck! I recommend this!!

Van was purchased for easy access in a vehicle for my elderly mother. The most comfortable and often used vehicle by the rest of the family even when mom is no where around. Still trying to understand all the negative comments about the instrument panel. Look upwards or downwards, either way your eyes are briefly off of the road. Besides, after the first drive you don't notice it anymore and I have had no problems when switching back to our other vehicles.

Love the van!

When my husband and I decided to purchase a mini-van to accomodate our growing family we began to research the Nissan, Honda and Toyota. After driving the Nissan we were sold! Not only is it the best looking of the 3 vans but the interior room is amazing! We can now easily accomodate everyone with plenty of room to spare. Some of the reviews posted were negative (doors that rattle, awkward instrument panel, and other complaints) but we have not seen any of these issues with ours. What we have found is a terrific van that looks great and is easy to drive.

The end of my story is that we bought out our lease early and walked away from this piece of junk. The list of problems are too numerous to list, but here goes: power sliding doors opened by themselves (recall, fixed), passenger sliding door rattles and lets air in to cabin (not a good thing when its 10 degrees out), starting problems went on for over two years, new brakes needed after only 30,000 miles of driving. Also, interior materials feel cheap, fan blower is very loud, even on the lowest setting, heater works poorly. We took the vehicle to Lemon Law and settled for a modest amount of money and walked away through an early lease termination. Nissan Corporate was not responsive.

BEWARE!! 10 RECALLS Already!

Our experience with Nissan and its main headquarters has been very poor. Our new Quest has been in the shop 17 times since we purchased it in October of 2005. (We own a 2006 Nissan Quest.) The mileage is very poor. It averages 15-18 mpg (half of the driving is highway!). Nissan has yet to fix all of the problems (rattling door, 10 recalls, broken automatic door, driver's seat loose, sound on the radio doesn't work when it rains...etc.) Beware of Nissan's new tactic of not keeping parts in stock. This is how they save money. You can wait weeks before a part comes in and you have time to get it serviced. Nissan took the fun out of buying a new vehicle :(

Never thought we would own a mini van! We looked at large suvs as we needed room for 6,(two pre-teens and two teenagers), and after price shopping, comparing mileage, room, functions and options-this was the best choice all around. We got many upgrades that we wouln't have in a suv. Handles smooth and quiet, sleek "buzz-lightyear design" and teenager approved-dvd player, wireless headphones, and legroom! The Quest doesn't have the boxy feel or look of a traditional mini-van, and coming from long time owners of suv's, we were hesitant to even test drive one, but once we did, we were sold! Unlike other mini-vans, you actually have room for duffel bags and suitcases even with a load of passsengers

After looking at the all new 2006 Kia Sedonna, and some of the other vans we decided to go with the Nissan Quest. I cant se why more people dont choose this van over the competition. We got a incredible deal on it and due to that we were able to go with the Special edition (love the power sliding door). This is the best looking van hands down for me. Doesnt have the same bland look of the others. At first I didnt care for the interior dash design, but after looking at the same dash on the competitors the uniqueness of it grew on me. Some of the car magazines bashed Nissan for poor grade dash materials. I find them of a higher quality that the dodge and kia.

With an expanding family it was time to upgrade from the Murano and the Quest was a no-brainer. Lots of room, fold flat seats and the special edition SL has all the options that a family of 7 requires. I do wish Nissan Canada had a little more information available with regards to the Sattleite radio availablility, but other than that its been a dream.

My wife has had the vehicle for about a couple of weeks and I must admit that it is pretty decent for a minivan. The interior design takes about a week to get used to, but it's not bad at all. If you have kids (which you should if you get a minivan) then definitely look at getting the DVD system. It's a definite sanity-saver. Build quality has been great - with no obvious defects. It's only been 2 weeks, but everything as is promised. If you're looking for a minivan that won't plummet in value like the domestics do, the Nissan Quest is a good option. It holds its value almost as well as the Toyota or Honda, but it cost less with the same features.

I have this van for two years now. I actually have the 2004 model SE, I have no technical problems with it. I am currently driving my van in Germany and it was very very comfortable to drive. The space is huge, ergonomic first class plane seat designed. Excellent performance and steers very well, feels like a car. This is a fast van with 240hp 3.5liter, I clocked in 115 miles/hr and it was a smooth accelaration. Some BMW could not keep up with me. The controls are well futuristic designed compared to other minivans. This is a reliable van to use on long trips. It has dual control temperature at your comfort for both the driver and the passenger. The body style is the eye catcher(SUV or VAN?

I had been doing research for minivans for a year and my final conclusion is Nissan Quest. Why? because the dash board is designed in the center that helps me concentrate on the road. And good the best feature is middle sits can fold, unlike any other Japan made minivan. Imagine you need to put a 7' feet fridge, a ply wood w/ standard size 4'x8', a big fish tank. Honda & Toyota couldn't do that. Unless you take the sits off. What a hassle.

Evrything is wonderful. More helpful items than expected when purchasing. Love the lights inside at night. The remotes are awsome. Auto doors, auto lighting, displays are incredible. This is my 3rd van. Last two 350000 miles and 246000 miles. But this one is the most appreciated on interior design and overall appearance.I'm proud to drive it.

Don't buy this piece of junk unless you want to spend 2 trips a month for 2 years. I traded my Quest in for a 2005 Toyota Sieanna and couldn't be happier. Things that went wrong were: - cranks forever - loss of power annually - powered sliding door keeps reversing and still isn't fixed. - vibrations at hwy speeds - gas gauge shows empty after a fill- up twice - passenger air bag shows off even when adult sits there - replaced radio keypad twice - lights falling out of ceiling - door panels coming off - glove compartment warped - shifter replaced - radio antenna weak - headrests are too far from your head so you can get a serious whiplash if you are rear-ended.

I love the vehicle but I have two major complaints: 1. The vent system in the front console when in external air mode (AC off) with the fan on and the leg or upper/leg vents activated blows very hot air right onto your feet. I have driven 3 different 2005 Quests with different trims and all presented the same problem. I had the vents in my vehicle re-routed or blocked off but now I get no air flow through the leg vents whatsoever. 2. The windshield angulation shows the dashboard outcast all day and all night long. It is annoying. I love the vehicle styling in and out. I love the engine power and the ride comfort but the above complaints should be looked at right away.

The 25-26 mpg has been far exceeded, curently getting 28-30 mpg on the highway far exceeding the manufacturers stated numbers. Feels much safer than the previous Quest, 2002 we traded in for this one. Far superior craftmanship - much more solid vehicle than previous years.

I absolutely love this van. I test drove the Toyota, and Honda top of the line vans and they all felt the same to me. But the customer service and truthfulness of the Nissan Employees tops my list. My 6 year old would rather take the minivan somewhere because it's Cool. It's very comfortable on trips, and has a huge amount of storage space available.

I hated this thing the very next morning, while staring into its windshield, which reflected back at least 60% of its own dumb dashboard. In my (admitedly weak) defense, it was already dark the day before, but I trusted that car makers knew better. Was I wrong! Nothing fit right, it twisted and rattled, switches fell off, mileage claims did not measure up to claims. The driver's seat wants you off like a bull at a rodeo.... I continued hating it, finally set a limit on my patience, until the first oil change. When 1500 miles finally (!) came up, I traded it in one heartbeat for new Acura MDX and was happy ever since.

As a previous owner of a Quest, it was an easy decision to go back to it after a decade. The new Quest is even better than the one I used to own. In every way possible. It handles the road beautifully. Braking is excellent - a trademark of a Nissan. And if the looks can kill, 2006 Quest would be a serial killer. Best minivan your money can buy.
