OK, need some Karma so thought I'd take the time to post. My wife's 2006 Murano with ~115K on it had the transmission die. IIRC, Nissan has a free Extended Warranty added to all 2003 (?) - 2009 or 2010 Murano's transmissions. My $4000 Dealer price replacement ended up being free. Did have a minor problem as my wife's Murano was a Japanese Manf. vehicle, and the VIN had aged out of their system. Took a day or so for the Dealer (Napa Ca ended up being the most helpfuly and did the work) to get it pulled back from HQ database. This isn't exactly advertised as far as I know, or at least not widely. This covers only the transmission, and is valid for Murano's with 10 years/120K or less. Here is the notice actually: http://www.nissanassist.com/ProgramDetails.php?menu=2 Was initially PO'd as wife had given me her car as we've moved from NorCal to WNY and the AWD was a prime feature. Very nice that Nissan recognized the problem with early CVT introduction to their line, and didn't screw over their customers.

Make sure you have the car checked out before making a commitment in buying the vehicle. These cars are traded in from someone else, then is not fully checked out by the person selling the vehicle. Too high priced for one thing, and also the mileage on this 2006 Nissan murano is too high for the cost of buying the car. It is a nice looking car inside and out but had a brake problem squelching when stopping which the seller was willing to fix if buying the Murano. Not good gas mileage according to the rating on the web. Only 20 in city and 25 highway if that. The vehicle is too heavy and is the reason for the low mileage. It was fully loaded and that was the reason for the price of 8,995.00 which I thought was too high in price. Still checking other vehicles out to make sure I want this car or not. What is your opinion on what I quoted.?

We like this car! Overall fine repair record; nice ride; great flexibility for load carrying. Just two complaints -- the CVT and the rooftop rack. Around 75,000 miles, the CVT started to show problems, specifically failure to upshift and revving up to 3K rpm or more at 20 or more MPH (unable to drive faster -- just revved faster). Of course, this was sporadic and never showed itself when taken to the dealership until the day when it finally appeared and I drove it over, revving mightily all the way. Nissan replaced the transmission under warranty. The CVT has always been functional but rather halting -- don't really care for it. The other complaint applies not only to the Murano (a humorous note -- the spellchecker highlights Murano as a misspelling and offers the alternatives "Moreno" and "Murine") but to many other SUV's of all brands. The rooftop luggage rack consists of two rails parallel to the long axis of the car, but does not have an essential transverse front rail. Stylish, but of absolutely no value when trying to prevent a load (a fresh-cut Christmas tree is a case in point) from sliding backward. You need to faster a load to a front rail to prevent it fro sliding backward. Style, but no substance. Overall, a fine vehicle and my third Nissan.

The Murano has been the best. i purchased warranty and most work was done at Nissan. After the warranty ran out I used the mehcacai cI have use for 13 years

Found out yesterday that the vehicle love of my life has dying engine and blown front and rear exhaust manifolds.....estimate for repairs....$13,000! Engine had less than 1/2 quart of oil after 3300 miles since last oil change. Sick to my stomach. I've loved everything about this SUV and have taken impeccable care of it - mechanically, interior, exterior. Just last week had 2 different friends ask me if I got a new car!

Overall, this is an absolutely great car with very few drawbacks. Upgrades I have added: - Full entertainment system with Bluetooth, USB port, CD, DVD, radio double DIN system with new aftermarket faceplate to replace the air conditioning controls. Kenwood Audio & Metra 99-7612A models - Tow hitch package from Curt - Tinted Rear passenger and trunk doors (purely aesthetic) - 2-way remote starter and full alarm system from Prestige Negatives of the car: - Headlight restoration products from 3M used due to constant foggy appearance (considering full replacement to HID or similar) - Had to replace bracket in drivers side seat (About 3 hour install but part was free due to recall) - Many issues with the gas tank at the beginning of its life which have now subsided after 2 full replacements at the dealership under warranty - Expensive CVT transmission fluid flushes (about $300 every 50k miles) - Fuel pump sensor is faulty in winter weather -- haven't run out of gas yet since I keep track of my miles, lived with it for 2 years The car is very smooth riding, and quiet as can be. This thing eats up road on long trips with the CVT transmission and good cruise controls. That being said, the CVT is a power sucker and the acceleration does suffer -- but mid range power is solid with the Overdrive Mode. The back row has the most leg room of ANY car that I have ever sat in! It is almost the size of a 3 row car, but with only 2 rows, there is massive room in the trunk and 2nd row. The roof height is great for tall guys (I am 6'3") I am right around 152,500 miles right now and these issues that have happened are very minor in my opinion. Besides having the AWD version, there is absolutely nothing else that I would want on this car. I plan on keeping it for as long as humanly possible. Might I mention that the new Tesla Model X looks very similar to this here car.. coincidence? I think not! Great looking car all around, mine is the Metallic Silver btw.

I have had this car for going on 9 years, I have had to change the struts, CV Boots leaked, the transmission blew up (TWICE), (Thank God It was still under warranty) The drivers side window motor doesn't work and I can't afford to have it replaced yet. Because the Dealer's are too damn expensive. The front head lamp lenses are too foggy (AGAIN Too expensive to replace). There were at least two other major problems on this SUV, I can't remember what they were right now., But Yes, I will truly look at other makes and models next time I go looking for another car. Everything interior was mostly good, however, the mechanic's of the vehicle have NOT been reliable to me. It has cost me too much to have, and I will be looking other places for sure!

Murano has too many common chronic repair issues

The Murano has so many good things going for it. Comfort, power, 4 wheel drive, roomy, stylish. It is a shame that it has a list of failure points that Nissan has not fairly addressed with its customers. Newer model years after 2006 may be improved. I don't know. But the fact that they did not make good with their customers for the chronic defects in the 2003 - 2006 models is a major black mark in my book. The web is rife with common chronic failures in these vehicles, I have experienced enough of them, and Nissans' poor handling of their responsibility to the consumer, that I will never buy Nissan again. Items 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 below are all failures I have noted on the internet with enough frequency that they are clearly chronic defects. 2006 Murano, now has 88,000 miles on it. Among the failures: 1. Front driver's seat bracket broke (I was one of the lucky ones who could get the repair done with a $300 part instead of the whole $1000 carriage). Outrageous. This is a manufacturing defect and should be a free recall replacement. 2. Lower control arms - Just to replace worn-out BUSHINGS? You must be joking. A $250 job with $100 in parts for both sides suddenly costs $900 to replace both control arms. 3. Fuel pump sending unit (all "****" on the mileage display on the dash, and no indication of full/empty) 4. Failed CD player 5. Driver's side power window motor --------------- So far, my CVT transmission has *not* failed, and I got a certificate with the car that extended the warranty on that to 10 years or 120,000 miles. But I am nearing that deadline, and I'm fearful that it will quit and leave me stuck with an enormous repair bill. I will probably scrap the car if that happens. --------------- Update: 4-Aug-2016 Since my original review, nothing else major has failed on the car. But there are some minor things: 6. Driver's side sun visor is operable, but is getting loose enough to occasionally droop. I have read of others on the web that have had it get so loose that it won't stay up out of the way of vision. I am anticipating having to make some sort of sleeve or add some set screws to firm-up the pivot point. 7. Cup holder plastics and springs are brittle and break off easily. I've had to do several repair jobs on these, adding steel pins and plastic solvent cement to really make them hold.

Bought this car March 2012 with 83,000 miles. It drives well, the fuel economy is nowhere near the reported numbers. So far, have had a problem with the fuel pump & gas gauge, have had to replace rocker arms on the front twice (extended warranty), replace a front engine mount (warranty) & have had to fix the power steering (dealer said it's a common problem in that year Murano models). Also had to have wheel bearings replaced & replace the air blower (no air conditioning/heat at all). Very disappointed considering I'd driven Toyotas for over 15 years & had been told many good things about the Murano in this general model year. Update 2016: I ended up trading the car in. The constant maintenance got to be too expensive. It needed a new muffler, the right side calipers seized, it needed yet another set of control arms & it honestly was not enjoyable to drive because I always wondered when the next repair bill would come. Every time something needed fixed it was at least $1,000! The experience was so bad that I won't ever consider another Nissan product again.

Had my 2006 nissan murano SL AWD since Feb 2013. Overall its an ok car. Gas mileage is alright, im averaging 18 mpg on premium. So far I have had 2 problems. I replaced struts at 102k, bought it at 88k, Electronic coupling assembly broke, repair cost anywhere from $1000-$2000. I simply just unplugged it. Everything else seems to be fine. The CVT takes some getting used to especially on decelaration. As for the BOSE, theres nothing wrong with it at all, its a pretty powerfull system, i dont know why people hate it. Words are loud and clear and the bass is powerful. what more can you want from a sound system.

Murano in this vintage have a weak support on the drivers seat. If you look at the Chat area you will see what I mean. The part is $900 and you still need to install it or pay the labor.

Overall the Murano is good vehicle. That being said it like many other cars, I'm sure, is not without it faults. To date failures include: The passenger side sun visor flops down and refuses to stay up or forward. The side of the leather seat(the vinyl part) has split into an "X" for no apparent reason and the airbag light is flashing and is going to have to be replaced to the tune of $1000. The seat and visor is also a complaint in other Nissan model, that apparently is not an issue to Nissan.

I've had this car for almost 2 years now and within first month I was stuck at work with a car that wouldn't start. Ended up being battery which wasn't covered obviously. then I had to go back like 3 months later for another problem, car wouldn't move, they claimed that from a good previous rain storm that something got flooded out internally and whatever repair it was, was covered. Then I went back again for some grinding noise, ended up being wheel barrings which were covered again. Then I went BACK again for some rattling noise it was making. Ended up paying 1100 freaking dollars for all these repairs only to have to come back 2 weeks later for a squeeky noise. and then it cut off. Beware

My Murano only had 58,461 miles on it when my transfer case fell to pieces. Replacement cost $3,800. I've always driven it well and have done oil changes on time. I was under the 60,000 miles warrenty and my 5 year warrenty had only expired by three months. I called Nissan to see if they would stand behind their product. I waited three weeks before the represenative told me No, based on that I didn't do all my oil changes at the Nissan dealership. They didn't look at the fact that I did do all my repairs at the Nissan dealership. I've done research online and there are a lot of unhappy Murano owners, that have had the same problem with their transmission. This should have been a recall.

The transmission has a poor warranty of 5 years and / or 60,000 miles. My wifes vehicle has always been maintained and driven well but at 58,000 miles (2 1/2 months after the five year warranty expired) the transmission completely went out. The dealership qutoed $3,800 for the repair / replacement. We phoned Nissan directly (and the dealership also contacted them about the issue) hoping they would stand behind their car and help with a portion of the $4,000 bill for an obviously faulty transmission. The Nissan representative took 3 weeks to give an answer and then the answer was no, because oil changes and tire rotations were not done by the dealership! Don't expect them to stand behind it

I traded in a 4Runner for my Murano just over a year ago and wish I hadn't! It didn't take long for the Murano to develop rattles. Seems like as soon as I figure out one rattle, another one starts. It has a very rough ride and it makes the rattles that much worse. The car does look nice and has some nice features, but those are the only positive things I can say about it. I was hoping for great gas mileage, but it has been a big disappointment. I get 19-20 mpg on the highway. My husband recently purchased a 2004 4Runner with a V6 for himself and so far, it gets better gas mileage, has a much smoother ride and has way more room. Do not buy a 2006 model!

Researched-originally wanted a Volvo! However after doing the research and driving both- murano won out. Incredible drive and comfort! The body style is beautiful and classy. I have purchased over 24 cars in my driving lifetime. They really got this one right. If you find one used with low mileage get it! Cons: noise when Windows down-but knew this before purchase, but tolerable. Maintenance is easy. Overall makes you want to go out for a drive just for fun.

Doesn't have the range that some cars do but not a problem. Seats very comfortable to me. Seat heaters a bit uneven but I don't use that anyway.

It was really put to the test during this snow storm that we had. I didn't have to dig nothing. I just put it in drive and went. Thats what I call a kicking SUV. I'd recommend anyone who wants a SUV to check out the Murano....You will not be disappointed.

Been very happy with my Nissan. I'm a bigger guy and this cabin is very roomy. Lots of leg and head room for the front and the back which I found hard to find in SUV's. The fit and finish of the car is good. Gas mileage is better than my old Montero. I average about 18 to 19 miles in predominant city driving. On the highway it does great. The AWD is very nice in the midwest and provides a nice tight drive. The CVT is awkward. I'm still getting use to the deceleration. The car is very responsive in acceleration and that's nice. There is a strange hiccup when slowing down. You must also learn to feather the gas in the snow/slush

Can't update my other review. Need to add more here. First, I meant ergonOMic issues in the other review. Second: Beware the CD player. It crapped out and luckily I have a warranty or it would cost over $600 to get it replaced. These are apparently a notorious weak point in many Nissans. In fact, it appears to be so widespread that I think they owe customers a free replacement, but good luck with that.

I just bought the off lease vehicle and got at the decent price. It's SL AWD with touring edition. I have done lot of research and test drove few SUV's too and among all of them I liked Murano. It's fun to drive, great looking vehicle. I suggest anyone who is interested buying Murano, it'll be a good deal if you buy used (like off lease etc.) because to be honest with all the options on new Murano the MSRP will be $40K and it's not worth buying any Nissan at that price. So my advice is buy a decent milage car for half the price. Because, in the end you will hear few rattles and wind noise and stuff. But the bargain you get is worth the price. CVT is great, very smooth.

Bought this used with 26000 miles on it. It's quiet, comfortable, powerful. I get an honest 23 mpg with it (but I do mostly highway driving). In fact, it's the nicest car I have ever owned. But it's not without flaws. 1. This car is so short on storage! Not enough drawers, pouches, etc, to put "stuff" 2. Doors don't prop and hold open at enough convenient positions. Have to open the doors all the way most of the time to really be sure they stay open. 3. AM radio reception is poor. AM is still handy for news and such. This thing can't pull in most of the stations my old radio could. FM is fine. 4. Sliding armrest thing is silly.

The Murano is a nice car but the gas mileage stinks. although it says 20 mpg in the city and 25 on highway on the posted window tag, the real truth is 15 mpg city driving. The dealer told me to switch to high test gas and I did. now I get 15.7 mpg. I don't rough ride the car and don't pull out fast from stops. I had a nissan Max before and was satisfied with 20 mpg. so this is a big drop, especially when gas was 4.00 per gal. The interior came only in black or Tan. Not much of a choice. It does have a lot of room and has a good ride, city and highway. I have a 2007....

It's reliable, comfortable and well made. Best vehicle I've ever owned. Interior materials not as premium as they look. Leather wrinkles on drivers seat have begun to crack thru. Simulated alloy trim on center console dents easily.

I love my car, and I tell everyone! I get asked how I like it by interested strangers and tell them about the 26 MPG highway (22 city - I drive less aggressively than most though) people seem surprised that is gets the same MPG as my maxima did. My friends called it the YAV - Yuppie Assault Vehicle until I took it camping. Don't let the leather seats fool you - the Murano handled the dirt roads, streams and beach as well as my mom's Jeep! I can't wait to get a tow-bar to pull the toys. This is my 2nd Murano I upgraded from a 2wdS to the 4wdSE and will drive it as long as it goes!

I have the 2006 SL AWD. I test drove a lot of smaller 5 doors including the Nissan Rogue which would suit my active lifestyle. It's unfortunate that no manufacturer has figured out how to make a comfortable car for tall people. The Murano has comfortable leg room; but the seats fall just a little short in leg support. I get about 19 mpg average and up to 22 mpg. I bought it at Mossy Nissan in El Cajon- the sales team is extremely slippery- be careful. Although I still got a somewhat fair price- they lacked integrity.

Best SUV I have ever owned! Have had it 2 years, and am drooling over the new one! Can't see myself without a Murano ever again. Tranny is great, good gas mileage, hauls my toys very nicely (4 wheelers, snowmobiles, waverunners) and my dogs love it. I average 20 MPG, around 23 on the freeway on trips, with fairly aggresive driving. Highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking!

We have had a Nissan Murano since December of 2005. The car is excellent for road trips. I have taken three teenagers, 15, 18, 19 on several road trips in the past two years and have not heard complaints from the back seat. We find gas mileage on the highway averages around 26mpg, 28 if its really easy driving. Around town we find this to be the perfect urban SUV. INterior is very nice the dash is easy to use and the handling is outstanding. Similar to our old maxima. Cargo space is quite good, see 3 teenagers, 2 adults road trip, everyone brought a suitcase and a couple of coolers. I plan to drive this until the wheels fall off.

This is an impressive SUV for its value. I was planing to buy Benz or BMW but I am glad I kept my 20,000 bucks in my pocket and got more from my Murano than those vehicles offer. Excellent comfort, service and performance. It sticks to the ground on snowy and icy road conditions. Interior design is very attractive and CVT shift is the most interesting feature you can experience and only at Nissan vehicles. I am glad that I test drove this vehicle that day and bought it. Extremely recommended.

What can I say, before buying the Murano, I've test driven the RX 350, FX35 and the Pilot. I've got about 11k miles on it already, and so far, so good! I get about 19-21 mpg mostly city driving, and it handles great. The 3.5 award winning engine is great and easy maint.

Great styling and general performance. Gas mileage is much less than similar cars of this size that I have owned. The car is solid, but any packages that I place in the car rattle like crazy. This is the only car where I have experienced this phenomenon. It detracts immensely from the overall driving experience. Is there that much difference in the ride of an SL versus my SE?

Glad I got it!

I just bought my Murano used a month ago from a private party. It only had 8,100 miles on it (2006). I looked for a year and got a great price for an SL in perfect condition. I love driving this car. It's zippy, and fun. The Bose stereo system sounds great for most, if you're really into your music you might be a little disappointed. The suspension is a little soft on the SL model if you really like to put the car through the turns. But overall I'm very happy with the car!! I love the interior and exterior lines.

Most of the time I love my Murano. However, when I have problems it seems to take multiple visits to the dealer to cure them. It took a year to solve a creak in the sun visors. I've made at least 4 visits for a creaking driver's door. Any road imperfections make it creak and it is embarassing when you have others in the vehicle. The door panel has to be replaced. Cruise control will occasionally not respond when I tap the brake pedal have to slam on the brakes or turn off cruise control. The dealer just replaced the master cylinder hoping that will cure the problem So doI! Nissan should spend more money on the interior. It feels like all the money was spent on exterior design.

The safety features worked beautifully, the repairs were done and the car drives like nothing ever happened.

This is a very nice riding car. Handles well on poor driving surfaces. Gas mileage is not what I would like, but I've been driving a 4cyl Altima for the last 12 years. One poor feature is passenger side mirror visibility. Windows are tinted & headrest are very large. I had to install fisheye mirrors to improve field of vision. Other than that the Murano is a great buy.

I worked for Nissan from 03-05, and during that time owned a 04 Maxima SE with all the bells and whistles. Drove the Murano back then and fell in love, just had to wait till my lease was up, boy am I happy. Picked up a SL AWD, with touring package, all I can say is WOW. I’m a huge fan of the styling, amazed with the color display and reverse camera (didn’t know it had it till I picked it up). The ride is great; gas mileage so far is nearly identical to my maxima. And the Lumbar is so much better then the maxima. I’m still in the industry, working for a Cadillac dealer, so I get the chance to see and drive a lot of vehicles. Muranos the best!!

Had a 1999 jeep grand cherokee that gas mileage was 17 to 18 all the time. I am hard to please. I have a 2004 turbo Porsche with 444 hp. I looked at the suvs. that are out there. Took me 9 months. The Nissan Murano was just the best. Period. I have been around cars and have flagged races for years all over the country and have owned MGS to Delornes. Edmunds says the cvt trany saps power. I don't think he has driver the transmission. Quality is out standing. Everything fits and it all works as they say it should. If you want a good suv try one of these. A test drive will sell you as it did me.

This car replaced my 2000 Lexius Rx300. The Lexus was a great car, but I like the Murano even better. I don't think the Lexus is worth $10,000 more, same price maybe I would have gone back to Lexus.Just completed a 3000 mile I95 trip down and back to Florida and got 23 mpg fully loaded and high speed. Unlike others I like the metal finishes on the inside. Gives a high tech and cool feeling. Great seats and I LOVE the rear camera.Holds a ton of stuff. 18 inch tires give the vehicle great height, but still easy to get in and out of and I am only 5.6.

The Murano is close to perfection, compared to any other SUV,except for just a couple aggravating things. It drives and handles amazingly well, but rides like a truck. It is fun to drive, has an extremely comfortable and versatile interior with many clever features, but exclude the dashboard from that. The engine and CVT transmission are pure delight... smooth, quiet, powerful, leaves you always feeling like you are in command. And, it is extremely responsive except that it feels a little slow off the line... mostly an illusion. The seats are fantastic, and unlike most Japanese vehicles, you can adjust them to accommodate tall people with long legs. Visibility is very poor to the rear.

The Nissan Murano is a very innovative car - first to market in the crossover segment. I transitioned from the Frontier, so better gas mileage but could still be better. Best we have gotten is 20 mpg. The only negative is there are definitely issues with the gas tank design. Had lots of trouble with getting fuel in the vehicle. Dealership service was accomodating and replaced the tank, but when you pay this much of a vehicle these issues should not surface. Overall a fun car to drive with great room - I'm 6'5" and have plenty of room. Missed emotions on the CVT ... robs car of power when you need it. Defintely check this car out.

It's a Very Good car overall. It's powerful and handles well. Its Roomy inside and the leather feels nice. I had some problems the dealer cannot fix. Brakes squeak in the morning when backing out of the drive way, Complained 6 times and the dealer really try to fix it but cannot. Another problem is when fueling. The pump shuts itself off because the tank does not have "air return"?? The dealer know of this problem and has ordered a new tank. The dealer said its the fuel pump inside the gas tank. About the squicky breaks, dealer said its the type of material Nissan uses on the breaks, no solutions.

As a long time Toyota and Honda owner - 8 Toyotas and 3 Hondas, it was a monumental decision to try Nissan. The Murano has quelled any concerns I had about Nissan products! This machine is incredible; the "shiftless" CVT is flawless and provides constant and even power throughout normal driving ranges. The ride is firm but refined, especially for SUV's. Although we have only driven the Murano in summer conditions, it has done extremely well in the rain and mud. I'm sure it will be a very adequate vehicle for the winter season. Lastly, but far from the least, the overall buying experience at the dealership where I purchased this vehicle was by far the best I have ever had.

When we purchased the our 2006 Nissan Murano, one of our major considerations was gas mileage. We were impressed with the manufacturers ratings of 19 city and 24 highway. Well, we have driven our Murano for 5000 miles, changed the oil at 3000 and the best mileage we have gotten on a trip (using cruise control whenever possible) was 17. Around town we are only getting 13-14! I took it back to the dealership today and they told me there is nothing wrong with it-that cars can vary, the ratings are just an estimate, and everyone doesn't get that mileage. I don't feel I drive excessively fast and don't do quick starts or stops, so I just don't understand. Don't trust the mileage Nissan claims!

I had Dodge Caravan for past 3 years and i had the worst experience. Anyway, we decided to trade in for a Japanese car. After going through the list, we decided to buy Nissan Murano. I had a car for a week and i could only say how much i love the car. First of all i give a lot of credit to the Nissan because I think they really done their homework well. From exterior to interior i could only be amazed by what they have done... Best of all i only bought Murano S AWD which is the base model and this was enough to turn my and others head. I could only imagine what its like to have the upper model......

I'd been holding off on purchasing the Murano until it mutated into a ride that I couldn't live without. The '06 model has definitely become that. It handles great and has such a quick response that it makes me feel like a kid again when I'm out driving around. The fun factor is off the charts!

The 2006 Nissan Murano provides solid performance, great comfort, remarkable versatility and better than 20 miles per gallon economy. Road noise is low, the ride is firm, but comfortable, and the handling is superb. The vehicle came from the factory with perfect fit and finish, and no maintenance issues in its first 5000 miles of use. The engine/CVT transmission combination is responsive, fun to drive, and smooth. The interior is comfortable, very roomy, and well thought out. The heater/air conditioning controls are easy to use and the instrument panel/front dash is well engineered and attactive. Seating is very comfortable and cargo capacity is wonderful.

I purchased this car back in March of 2006. i have 7500 miles on car now. It has been quite an exhilirating ride to say the least. I find it is very quick and responsive for an suv. I have yet to experience 25 mpg on hwy, best I have done is avg 21hwy and 17 city and that's stepping on the gas pedal like there is an egg beneath it. I have owned an 01 Avalon and a 98 4Runner. I was happy with these vehicles but I wanted to combine the best of both worlds (suv heght & sports sedan handling), and still keep reasonable price. I crossed the tracks from Toyota to Nissan for this one model because I liked the size of the interior and features offered. It has a rigid ride over bumps.

I absolutely love my murano, my kids and I can't get enough driving and riding in it. I love the intelligent key system, it's makes so much since for a mom who's usually got my hands full to not have to go dig in my purse for keys. The backup camera is great, I had the beeping on my last car, liked that too, but the camera is better. All of the safety features are a great big plus for me since I have children, I do feel safe in it. I like the t.v. and dvd player in the center console, it can be concealed when not in use. I wish it had bluetooth capability, and there does seem to be some glare on bright days, overall I love this car. It's really a sexy looking vehicle for a woman.

This vehicle is exactly what I was looking for. I was debating between the SUV and the Sedan, and found that this was the best of both worlds. It's not huge, but more than enough room for me and my passengers. The intellikey is great, and even though it's no BMW or Lexus, I still feel the same ride and solidity of a high priced luxury vehicle. I would reccomend the touring package, or at least the leather package. You can now get this car at invoice, and the SL with the touring comes to like $31,500. Overall I've only had this car for a couple days, but definitely worth the money.

I chose the SE for improved handling and cornering and it is amazing. You feel the bumps a bit but this softens over time. I have owned almost every SUV out there and I love this. Amazing acceleration. Great interior. Got it fully loaded for at least 15K less then the RX 400h and FX. I previously owned an RX330 and it was like driving a girls car (boaring) with too much lean. I actually had to wait 3 months for it to be delivered with my specs-exact color, nav, dvd, satellite, backup camera, smartkey. Can downshift even though with the CVT there are really no gears. Mileage would be better then 18- 20 mph but I ride it very aggressively. My wife uses low-octane, I use mid- range. I love it.

We have had our Murano for only one week. I have only driven it about 300 miles. The little I have driven it I relly love it. I can definitely tell the Nissan quallity. Vehicle rides very smooth and is very quiet. Automatic AWD is great. The CVT transmission really gives the vehicle a smooth and quiet ride. Can't feel the trans shift at all. So far my all around gas mileage is about 20 mpg. Also feel very safe driving this vehicle.

When you test drive your car, check braking in reverse. We never tested this feature and after getting the car home we heard a squeal backing up that got progressively worse. Took it to the local Nissan dealership, Brown's/Fairfax,VA they machined the front rotors. The car had 1800 miles on it and was less then a month old. This helped the situation greatly but did not eradicate it so I took the car back and they said nothing was wrong, the noise was within industry stadards per Nissan. We then took the car back to the dealership where we purchased the car,Sheehy of Manassas and upon inspection they replaced the brake pads. This was done out of pocket as Nissan would not warranty.

Murano is a rough ride, more like a truck not quiet at all and uncomfortable and stiff. Lots of blind spots. No cargo room and more trouble to lock and unlock with the intelligent key. Murano is grossly overrated. I cannot believe I am stuck with it for 3 more years. How do you get out of a lease?

Ok, what can i say about my beauty?? I leased 06' S AWD. I wished i could have afforded the next model; but am very happy with my Murano. It's very spacious inside especially with two growing kids (back seat reclines) just perfect in my book! seats are very comfortable for fabric; that is. Drove this car to S.C.(12 hour drive) and back with no problems whatsoever. This is the most comfortable vehicle i have leased. At the end of my lease, I will more than likely purchase or if the style remains somewhat the same get another one; of course, THE WORKS!

What a great car! I was looking at an Audi A4 originally, but thought I'd check out the Murano, specifically for its navigation system. What can I say? The damping on the SE model is superb for an SUV - corners really flat without the ride being harsh, the refinement is excellent, the engine is eager and tuneful and the underfloor storage is invaluable. Also, best navigation system I've ever used.

I was recently involved in a major auto accident (thankfully not my fault). I was hit head on, then rolled 3-4 times travelling across all 3 lanes & the hard shoulder, only when my car nose dived into a grass verge did it come to a rest on my (driver's) side. All safety features that this car has as standard did their job. I was pulled from the wreckage with a couple of broken ribs & a lot of bruising on my torso. As each & every emergency service member said, the car saved my life. They couldn't believe what the car went through & yet I got out relatively unharmed. My next car? Another Murano! We were sold on the car from the safety features alone when we bought it, plus the CVT - awesome :

Our new Murano is just an all around great vehicle. This vehicle was purchased for my wife. She drives approximately sixty miles a day and we live in the country. She sometimes has to work late hours and is on the expressway late at night, both winter and summer. From what I have observed so far, this vehicle gets far better mileage than her 2003 Santa Fe which we traded in. This car is loaded, rides great, is fun to drive and I think has all safety features available in a vehicle. We purchased chrome wheels, (extra) but they really set the looks of this vehicle off. For the money, this vehicle beats Lexus hands down. For the money, our Santa Fe was good but this Murano is great!! We love it.

Im glad I came back for a second test drive. I didn't like the Murano when it first came out. Over time and all the positive reviews its had, I finally decided to check it out again. It has to be the best vehicle Nissan makes in my opinion. Its the perfect size and shows enough style to make a quiet statement. I bought the S model because the upper level ones are to pricey for what they are. I think all SUV's are fairly overpriced to be honest. This blows the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander away!

Just turned in our 2003 Murano for a 2006 Glacier Pearl. Just when you thought they couldn't improve it, WOW!! Color Display, chrome accents, awesome dash. Looked at new Tribecca, check out the fuel tank, Murano goes 150 miles more on a tankful. More features than BMW X3 & Jeep Cherokee for the cash. Why pay $10,000 more for a Lexus, hey i still have a son in college. Never had a work snow day with the AWD and 3 Northeast winters, Murano always got me back and forth to work and actually had fun doing it.

After driving quite a few other makes ranging from the domestics to Toyota and Lexus, the Murano seemed to give the most features for the buck without that conservative blah feeling. I have always been a fan of Nissan's engines (a mechanic friend considers them "bulletproof"),though this is the first one I have owned- I am not dissappointed. The CVT transmission is shiftless and doesn't quite give the thrust of the same engine in other applications, but I feel the Murano is still one of quickest of the vehicles I drove. The safety is there for my wife and daughter but most of the SUV's seemed generally well equiped in that respect.

This SUV was the last of my test drives and I purchased it the same day. I got lots of interior space for 4-5 people, love the cockpit driver area with big dash board and over-abundance of added optional equipment. I went for "fully-loaded" with no regrets. Right away I was impressed with the quickness of acceleration and handling. It's a nice quite ride and the front dash is well centered and balanced with features. I have had no real issues and would repurchase a month later this same SUV. I find it's cute to look at, easy to park and fun to drive. The gas mileage is accurate and now I just need to plan a trip to the mountains to fully appreciate this vehicle.

Nissan has made great improvements thos this car in both looks and features over the past 2 years. This car gets great mileage for an SUV with so much power. The Nissan Murano is a solid, sylish SUV that has a lot of interior room for a mid-size SUV. All the standard features, the ride, body style and power are what sold me. The engine gives you all the power you need and you don't feel the transmission shifting as you are gaining speed. If you are looking for a great automobile that has style, power and is luxurious, this may be the SUV for you. The other factor that sold me was the dealer. Arron Carter of Bankston Nissan, Irving, Texas, had a low key approach and was very interested in helping us find a vehicle that met our needs. From the top down, I think this is one of the better dealerships in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

I test drove the Murano, a Toyota Highlander, and a Honda Pilot. I was so impressed with everything that the Murano had to offer! The CVT transmission was so smooth and accelerated with ease. The interior is plush and so comfortable. The exterior is sharp and eye-catching. The sound system is top-notch. The interior leather package is luxurious, but practical. I can't say enough good things about this vehicle!

Probably the best car we've purchased. Great handling in mountain roads and plenty of power to pass on a grade. Love the changes in the interior over the 2005. Quiet ride. This is a must drive for someone who wants the height of a SUV but not the bulk of the large SUV

Perfect vehicle for me, often carrying large photo equipment. Hauls all my long cargo when needed with more secure privacy than most SUVs. When I am not hauling equipment it provides a classy ride and great performance. I felt very safe on rainy and slushy roads thanks to great handling and road holding. All this with good highway mileage. Could use a little more low end torque.

One of the best cars I ever owned was a Nissan Maxima. While a very different type of vehicle, the Murano offers the same responsive and well built qualities that my Maxima had. It is a pleasure to drive, and is very sure footed in the snow. Unlike the previous SUV I just traded in, the Murano is all wheel drive all the time, so there is no shifting to 4 wheel drive and grinding when backing up or turning at slow speeds. The Murano is smooth and responsive. The radio controls on the steering wheel. automatic lights, and others features are nice touches. Instead of trying to jam in a cramped 3rd row of seats, the Murano has spacious and comforable rear seats with plenty of room for 3 people.

even better!

I bought the first Murano in 2003 an loved it. Decided to trade it for a new one with all the gadgets. Navigation system is wonderful, as well as DVD. The car is much quieter and feels more refined than the first model. That improves the fun of driving it, as long as you like quiet, comfortable cars. Would recommend it to anyone. By far the best SUV for the price!!!!

First I got this for $26,800 w/o license and fees. It's a 2wd SL with only standard options. It is an easy vehicle to drive. Lots of standard features you'd expect to pay for like back up camera and dual zone heating etc. It came with a 7" LCD screen too! I am very suprised about all the technical stuff you get standard. It is a very smooth ride compared to like a 4Runner which was my previous car. As you accelerate, the powerful V6 gets you going and then smoothly settles into a lower RPM I can't wait until this CVT gets into other models. Its quite phenominal. I am also getting over 20 mpg in this SUV. The rear seats fold down much easier than a 4Runner and way easier than my Benz ML320

Hands down best value in its class

I have been a loyal Nissan owner for 16 years. I have owned 3 Maxima's including my current 2000 Maxima SE. Without a doubt the Nissan Murano is the best bang for your buck if your looking for performance, comfort and a distinct driving machine. We chose the base S model which comes with a load of standard equipment. We had the Factory leather seating surface installed at the dealership for $700 dollars more. We ended up saving $1800 doing it that way since the leather packge is not available on the S model. I highly reccomend this Crossover SUV to anyone looking at a Lexus RX330. You will save thousands and get even better performance. The 345 Horse Power CVT V6 is a dream. A great Car!!

I leased this vehicle for 5 weeks and it was the very best out of at least 18 different vehicles I had driven in that time period, The best stability around corners and the most practical I have seen. By the way I have owned 5 Nissan vehicles, loved every one. I would now like to lease the murano with the intention of buying. Jan C. MUTZL
