Purchased August of 2016 with 153,000 miles from a Chevy Dealer in Indy. It had been cast aside in what I call the rusty, crusty area way out back with all of the junk trade ins, some lettered with AUCTION. Drove it, stole it price wise, and drove it 120 miles home. I detailed it out, serviced everything on the dealers sheet of repairs needed, and bought a junkyard rear bumper to replace the one on it that was wiped out previously. I plow snow in the Winter for INDOT and this is going to get me there and back and then some. Poor visibility around this tank and the ride leaves a lot to be desired as well as fuel economy. But, this is the safest I have ever felt in a vehicle, beating out my '69 Chrysler Newport convertible, which is a boat. I'm going to buy an H2 in the future and put aside some parts to find a rebuilder, since I can do that. That being said, service wise, I do all of my own work. Future plans call for cranking up the torsion bars to level the truck in the front and some other free mods. Hope its a really snowy Winter!!!!

Nothing beats a HUMMER!

Great 4 wheel drive off road SUV, very easy to tow behind a motor home. Had jeeps and 4 wheel drive trucks, the H3 beats them all! I work in emergency management and have used this vehicle extensively.

I owned a hummer h3 2006 for over 6 years. I drove over 150k miles on it. When I reached the 100k I took it to the mechanic asking to check it for any maintenance since the mileage of the car and basically just replaced the spark plugs. Nothing else. I change my first set of pads (brake pads, no rotors} on 110k miles on the front wheels, and on 130k miles on the rear wheels. Just had to believe but true. Sold it on 2013 with over 170k miles and running perfect. I missed it so much that I just bought my second h3 a month ago same year with just over 100k miles. Took it to the dealer to do whatever needed to have the peace of mind and runs incredible smooth (even better that my last one since I put four new Michelin on this one). Super smooth ride and very happy with it. I m just buying all the option that I used to have on my first one. I recommend this suv to anyone. The look is great, the comfort, the driving position, everything. Some complaint for poor visibility but with big rear mirrors as it has and back up camera that I added I feel very confident parking or anything. Not very powerful acceleration but small engine gives you better MPG so something has to give up. Anyway is enough power for everyday needs.

I own a 2006 H3 w/ adventure package. I bought the vehicle used in 2009 with approximately 30K miles and an existing factory warranty. Hands down this is the best SUV I've ever owned. It's extremely comfortable, performs as needed and has been nothing but reliable. I've never had anything other than routine maintenance performed (knock on wood). My only complaint (if I had to give one) is that it doesn't have a ton of cargo space. My wife and I didn't have any children when we bought the car. However, we recently had our second child, and with double strollers, etc. are in need of a bigger SUV. However, I am not going to trade or sell the H3; I'll be keeping it forever!

I bought a 06 h3 adventure package with 80k miles on it and was surprised at how well it rode and performed with the mileage it had. Every one gave me hell about having a hummer but I loved it. Driving it makes you feel like a kid driving a tonka toy. The Mpg's where average for its class 18-22 mixed driving. It was comfortable on short and long drives. It never gave me any issues and it never got me stuck off road. If your debating between an h3 or a wrangler, get a h3. You get more for the money and insurance is less. You get better Mpg's and a nice comfy ride when you're not plowing through the woods or mountains. It's a solid ride.

I've owned it for a few years now (did a great deal of research to ensure that I wasn't purchasing a lemon) and I love this car more and more the longer I own it. One of the commenters on here had a great point. Get it serviced at your Cadillac or GM dealership, and keep up the maintenance!! I've heard a few comments regarding the lack of power/acceleration due to the size of the engine. This thing isn't a sports car! As others have said, it will easily get up to over 100mph. However, you shouldn't expect to get there in 6 seconds - who buys an SUV with that in mind?? Great car, I'm keeping mine forever!!

I was by a bank that Hummers are investments as the demand for Hummers is huge. The H3 has been a great, fun, rugged, strong & qaulity. The engine has pep in town, but most of the power is torque for pulling & climbing in hard terrain. Most that complain about them either have not taken proper care nor servced at a Cadillac or other GM desler.I had to cut off road in terrain that big 4x4 trucks could not go in,the H3 went through with no problems without even having to use 4 wheel drive.H3 is heavy & is designed to basically go anywhere,it is not a Ferrai,it is a Hummer built to in the harshes environment & it delivers.Open speed the H3 has no problem cruising at 100 mph.It is just cool.

Bought this pre-owned at 5 years old. Conveniently everything started going down the drain at that point. Stupid things would break like the door... couldn't open the driver door from the inside. Sunroof leaks, passenger will randomly get quite soaked. It seemed like every week something would go wrong. Key fob just doesn't work... tried changing the battery..nothing. One day I tried to go to work and the truck locked me in park! Couldn't move the vehicle! Extremely unreliable. One day hazard lights just turned on its own and wouldn't turn off. Can't even drive up hills without a hard time. No interior lights that turn on when door opens - stupid. Poor handling.

IF YOU BUY ONE, ONLY SERVICE IT A GM DEALER LIKE CADILLAC THAT DEALS WITH ESCULADES,BUT STAY OUT OF OIL LUBE & TUNE SHOP.The H3 is a fun vehicle to drive, has the most powerful A/C & Heater I have ever had.It is well built & reliable. They are now becoming some what of collectors items where Hummer Owners Clubs are growing & it has been speculated to be one vehicle that will increase in value.

My happiness last for about 3 months until the sunroof began to leak and hasn't stopped since. I have taken it in 5 times and each time they only want to replace the drain hose. I bought it preowned and learned after 2 years of ownership that the problem existed prior to purchase and it was never disclosed, now the warranty is up and they refuse to fix it. The leaks have caused stains on the seats, a foul odor, possible rust. It is now currently under investigation by GM. Not to mention all the other problems listed below: tire monitor unsteady alignment hood latch recall 2 new batteries electrical issues 2 a/c issues repaired rattles shocks have gone out and I only weight 175

Whether your on the highway or on a dirt road this hummer h3 is a road king. I love my 2006 Hummer H3 Luxury. From the heated leather seats to the big open sunroof, this is one amazing vehicle. It's not a car, it's not a truck, it's not like any other SUV, it's "like nothing else." Go any where, do any thing, they completely make an average trip a real adventure. If you like the outdoors, camping, getting away into the wilderness and don't mind getting stares from bystanders on the street, you'll love the H3.

The HUMMER H3 is the single most capable and superior real-world SUV ever devised by mankind. Originating from military combat vehicles, the H3 fits on trails the H1 and H2 are too big for. The H3 has everything a Jeep Rubicon has, and has everything a Jeep Rubicon doesn't have, and all for the same price and gas mileage. Don't get me wrong, I like Jeeps- I've driven them for decades. I get the "Jeep thing". Most H3 drivers do - we've been there and done that. But if Jeepers ever tried the "HUMMER THING", they'd never go back. It's the "Jeep Thing" on steroids, complete with stealing your girlfriend and not spilling my drink all over the leather while off-roading in style and comfort.

The H3 is a collector item that is not only fun to drive, but looks cool. The 3.5L in-line 5 is a proven engine that has plenty of power, ver reliable,& you have to watch your speed because you will be at 100 mph cruising without even knowing it.I feel like I am driving a luxury tank & it is rugged & durable, but inside the cabin it is silent & smooth with great style. The fuel economy is actually pretty good for such a heavy 4x4 that if keep up with service, use synthetic fluids,& run high octane fuel from a name brand station,it improves fuel economy & performance.Hummer is the Rolls Royce of 4x4,where there is no place it can't go,stylish in town & the Lion off the road.It is the King of SUVs.

I have owned many SUVs & Jeeps & nothing compares to the H3 in style, reliability, design, durability & performance. There is no place the H3 can't go,it is tough and rugged with unique design. It gets great Gas Mileage campared to the much small Jeeps I have owned. The in-line 5 cyl. engine is very quite & smooth & on an adventure run,it cruised past 100 mph with no issues. It has a ton of torque power to climb & for off-roading fun.Our friend has one with 146k miles without a problem yet.I love the H3 & I have never owned a vehicle that gets so many compliments. It is just plain fun to drive & I plan to keep this for the long haul.I will not sell my H3,I plan to enjoy it as it will be a classic.

A very impressive off road SUV that is the utilimate SUV on the road. The engine is very reliable inline 5 cyl. Votec that I have seen H3s with 180k miles & still going. The look of the vehicle is awesome. The A/C is very high power & extremely cold.It has a rugged suspension, that feels like driving a military armored vehicle that is loaded with luxury. The turing ability will let you turn on a dime.It has a wow cool factor unlike any SUV on the road. The engine is very fuel effecient for being a 4x4 SUV that has a ton of torque power, put a high flow air filter & it will give a boost in power. It is vehicle that cruises smoothy & will get up to 70 pretty quickly for SUV size.It is a one of kind!

Possibly the best vehicle I've ever owned!

**Luxury pkg. 3.5 i-5, 4x4 Automatic** I bought my 06 H3 used almost a year ago with 36k on it, I was VERY skeptical because I have never been a big fan of GM but after a long process of reading reviews, stats and comparing to competition it just made since. This H3 Rocks! Very comfortable, Solid build, awesome looks AND gas mileage is surprisingly good! (apprx. 18-19 hwy) 4x4 is ridiculous, I've had it on sand, trail and deep snow and it had me smiling ear to ear. One problem I could do without would be the limited i-5. Although I never have problems with regular driving; 85 mph+.. highway or acceleration (on-ramps etc) But Steep mountainous inclines are tough at highway speeds.

Bought new in March of 2006, since then we have had 3 bad winters in a row, it is one tough SUV in the snow, no problems even in new 14" snow that hasn't been plowed. Only problem, portion of the left fender on rear driver side door paint came off. Other than that no problems. Great driver in any weather. By the way still have the original Bridgestone tires, they will make it through one more winter. I will put the same Bridgestone tires back on it.

I purchased a 2006 Hummer H3 with 80,000 miles on it. Although the mileage was high, I had confidence in it after reading the reviews. It came with DVD player and sidestep rails. Just the base package. I didn't really want all the bells and whistles because my theory is, the more that you have, the more that can go wrong. I'm a 5'7" female and I have plenty of room. I heard about the blind spots but I don't have any problems with that. The best thing is, even though this is a 2006, you can't tell. People love it and want it.

Bought the vehicle used but fell in love with it ever since I test drove it. No other SUV will give you more driving power than the Hummer. It's certainly a head turner and no doubt be ruling the lanes (if you signal and make a lane change) cars beside you will yield to you (That's the fun part of it). Though I have had some problems with the sun roof drainage system which gets clogged when you go off road and cause a mess INSIDE the passenger side and gets it all wet. But you can clean it out easily with low pressure air blown at it. definitely an envy during the winter or winter storm season. Every vehicle gets stuck will wish to be in your ride.

Fell in love with it the moment i saw online that it was being built. Ordered ours early and got the bright yellow in October 2005. Has always been a head turner even to this day. Lux package so the interior looks great and has been durable, great leg room, nice big sunroof and great stance overall. Been on quite a few long trips Fla & SCar, etc. except for a few minor issues, knock on wood has been reliable overall. We live in upstate NY so get alot of snow, since yesterday got 30 inches, my car left me stranded last night, wife rescued came to my resuce, i was in total awe how our h3 went through the snow, was really proud and reminded why got it in the first place..luv it!

Bought our H3 in July 2006. Have both loved and hated it at times. It is flawless in snow and mud..goes anywhere you want. While it has been dependable, it has also been irritating at times. The passenger compartment is too cramped. It is a fight to get my arm between the seat and the door to adjust the seat. The heated seat buttons are hard to reach on bottom of seat. It would have been so much better to have them on the dash. A baby seat behind my wife's seat barely leaves her enough room to be comfortable, knees on dash. Despite negative comments, we both still like it. We have rescued stranded friends and pulled tree stumps out of yards with no problems. We would buy it again.

For starters, I am 6'0", and 185LBS. The driver area is not suitable for taller, more built people. I feel cramped when I drive it. (I didn't choose this car, my parents did.) The windows are too small, the seats are hard to adjust, and the area is not spacious what so ever. The tiny 3.5 inline-5 doesn't perform to my expectations. Its slow, bulky, and when I go in the mud, it covers it in mud, (The mud flaps are a must). The CD player doesn't play homemade CD's, which really irritates me, so I must spend $300 on a new iPod. I am very disappointed with Hummer and GM for making this car so small. Really, you notice more Priuses when you drive it. I probably won't buy another Hummer again.

I purchased my Hummer in August of 2006 and I have ZERO regrets to this day. I have had no mechanical problems or anything that needed major repair. I have enjoyed my H3 and I consider it a great buy. Regardless of what you hear about being a gas guzzler, my H3 gets approximately 14 mgp on a 20 gallon tank.

I LOVE this vehicle. Yes, it does have a big blind spot but the mirrors make up for it. I love the oversized sunroof and the handling in snow and rain. Roomy enough for three car seats in back seat and love the room in the rear of the vehicle. Sluggish when accelerating and the MPG is low but overall I love it and would buy it again.

In the vehicle review it says that a Jeep owner would not trade their "Hemi" for the H3, I did. I love my H3. It is comfortable it handles curves better than my Jeep did. It may not be the fastest at take offs but it isn't a sports car it's a sports utility vehicle. After driving the H3 I don't think I will ever go back to Jeep. And I have been a Jeep owner since 1998. I Love It!!

Love the vehicle. For a mid size SUV, its reasonable on gas and is aesthetically pleasing on the inside and out. A very smooth ride and although powerful on the highway, it lack passing power. It is spacious for the driver and passenger but a bit cramped on the back seats. I live in Toronto and so are winters are pretty brutal but a joke for the H3.

Hummer is one of the best vehicle I drove, I had Explorer,Pathfinder, and Mountineer as 4x4 vehicles. HUMMER provided the best comfort and road respect! I fixed xenon lights and some stickers in the side to make it more appealing. I love this vehicle. Had some squeaks in the rear wheels and front right wheel. Only while turning the vehicle. Lack of power is an issue. No! Actually it is a big issue. Giving the consideration to the 5 cylinder Engine it is forgivable. 2009 Alpha would be better with V8, but then it is far too expensive. Strangely I liked the fabric seats better than leather. Almost all American vehicles have this arrogance and haughtiness. Hummer also not an exception!

I've fallen in love with Hummer H3. It has great stock performance on mud terrain, and it can be submerged in water. The ride is comfortable, and since it's manual, it's a blast to drive. It rumbles like an F250, but thin enough to get through off-road trails in the woods. When I first heard of the H3 I felt it wasn't going to be "manly" enough for me, but the first time I drove it, the car changed my mind completely. It's extremely spacious, and the interior is perfect for it's off-road, military look; yet it's very modern and designed well for the not-so military-type. Speakers are great as well as the subs. Seats are comfortable. It handles well at high speed, and has so-so acceleration.

In love with my H3

I was a Saab girl until I test drove a Hummer. My grandchildren love it as well, everyone in the family wanted me to choose little less flashy car

I recieved this vehicle as a sixteenth birthday gift and have been happy since! This is a fun vehicle to drive. It turns a lot of heads when you are stopped at a stop light or on the highway. The only thing I would change is the power window panel, move it closer so that it is easy accessible by hand. And I would suggest a third row. Overall I am satisfied

I've had the H3 for a few months now and just love it. Mine is bright yellow which I think is a fantastic color. I read a lot of reviews criticizing its engine so I was really expecting a lot of lag when I first test drove it. Unless you drive on hilly roads regularly, I feel the engine is more than adequate. You're not going to win any races but its an SUV not a sports car. Have gotten a lot of compliments and it's not like it just came out.

Purchased this H3 for my wife, really! She loves it. Daughter thinks its GR8. Tested lots of vehicles(Hondas,Jeeps, Acadia,Vue and Extera)and we still liked this one the most. Forest green, nice color.I dont understand the complaints by some.I am 6'2" 198 sz 13 feet and I fit very well. Back seat also has plenty of room. Can't believe how far back the front seats will move. Don't people realize it's a truck not a Honda Civic. It's a very utilitarian vehicle. Throw in your tools/climbing/hiking/boating gear and you are all set. Went from Syracuse to Old Forge NY recently and got 22 mpg RT with travel around town and the lake. Received complements on its looks. This is my 34th vehicle in 34 years. Love it

I leased this H3 base model in white because the side of the vehicle is great for advertising my business. I leased it for 3 years and after 2.5 years I've been satisfied with it.I am 6'2" and have more than enough leg room and head room. The truck rides nicely and the interior materials are high quality. I live 1 mile from my office so mpg is not a big deal and neither is torque. This vehicle is definitely underpowered for it's weight. If I had a longer commute I would not have leased it. Unbelieveably good in the snow. The turning radius is so tight parking lots are a breeze. After 2 years I've begun to notice the typical GM build quality issues such as squeaks and rattles.

I recently bought the H3 as a second vehicle for my family. I was originally not impressed with the gas mileage 13 mpg around town using a light foot. The beginning of the second month the transmission locked up and would not shift out of first gear. Two weeks later the engine light showed its true colors and would not turn off. The dealership allegedly fixed the problem by replacing a sensor. The temporary fix lasted about 3 miles from the dealer before the engine light reappeared. The H3 was immediately taken back to the dealer who informed us the cylinder head had to be replaced. Despite the problems we love the H3.

I am buying this lease. I just love this truck. Drove my '88 Buick Reatta for 18 years and replaced it with this H3. I average 15mpg with 60/40 hwy/city driving. Have installed a custom fabricated roof rack. The look and stance of this vehicle is outstanding. It drives quite well and handles Michigan snow very easily. The H3's weight easily tracks through slush while changing lanes on the e-way. This vehicle is a foul weather drivers dream. Decent towing capacity, phenomenal offroad ability, fords a foot and a half of water and has competitive mpg with other vehicles in this class. It's like nothing else.

I literally just got the H3, like a week ago. I used to own the Mercedes C230 and let me tell you I am so happy that I bought the H3! It has so much space, the adventure package is still very nice although it's not the most luxurious. I own a boat detailing business so it came in handy just in time for summer! With gas prices rising quickly, I'm a little worried about the gas mileage, but so far so good. It's not as bad as some might think. And the stereo thumps! I'm a young hot thing so I like to show off. I absolutely love love love the H3! My parents were so mad at me that I bought it, but then they drove it and are realizing that maybe I am actually smarter than I look

I bought the yellow H3 with 10,000 miles on it. I always wanted one and my 97 Jeep was almost at the end of the road. I love the look, and wanted the bright yellow. The day I got it home the battery went out and the next week the rooters had to be replaced. The dealer took care of that at no cost, great dealer ship here in Kentucky. I have been drving it to work 25 miles one way and getting 18 miles to a gallon so just a little less then the Jeep. I bought it for the safety and snow we get and it did wonders this winter. We had a bad snow day and most people called in to work, I made it just fine. I just towed a 5x8 trailer loaded down to Florida and it did great. All in All I love it!

The truck has been nothing but problems. We had a Trailblazer which had a lot of problems so we leased an H3 because of Hummer's reputation. It has 27K miles, they have already replaced all 5 cylinders, worked on tire pressure monitor, it does not start whenever it does not feel like it and now the heating and air conditioning does not go on, no blower, nothing! They really just beefed up a regular SUV and called it a Hummer. Shame on GM.

I bought an 06 H3 Adventure Package with only 8500 miles. I have put around 1000 miles on it, and already have taken it off road in some serious terrain. Let me just say this, I have had other 4wd SUVs and they would not dare go where my Hummer went. The truck is fun to drive, and gas is comparable to other SUV's. I will be a Hummer owner for a long time. I have driven the H2 and believe the H3 is better off-road and more practical.

I've had my H3 now for 19 months and it has been in the shop 4 times. TV monitor went out, heated seats quit working. I've had it in 3 times just for the 5 speed manual. It wont go into 1st, 2nd or reverse gears..I have to almost brake the gear shift to get it to go into gear. I get stuck at lights and traffic with people blowing their horns because I cant get it into gear. I took it in twice and they said it was fine, they couldnt find anything wrong until I went for a test drive with a mechanic and he said they would replace the stick shift. It worked great for 2 weeks and now I'm back to not being able to get it into gear. Doors lock & unlock by themselves now, eletrical problem.

We taken through some of the nastiest offroading that no other out of the box straight from the show room floor can do.We have the adventure package. The turning is awesome. Easy to drive. Gas mileage is actually better than expected for this type of vehicle. It's better than Jeep and toyota. Toyota will break if you do the things that you do with H3. Land Rover is incapable of this kind of capabilities. Power is ok. It's an go anywhere vehicle not a race car.

The Hummer H3 is fun to drive both on and off road. But has been in the shop since we bought it 29 times for items ranging from seals and gaskets on the front drive train. Brakes, head light lens, doors not unlocking with owner keys, noises from 4x lock low and in 4x lock high, mirror assembly coming loose then falling off going down the interstate, heater core going out, back cup holder coming off, the radio ant. coming off, check engine lights coming on and cannot find problem, recalls on jack, back windsheild pump motor .paint is easy to scratch also. I have only went 1 time off roading on the baby track . But I live in the country and needed something safe & tuff.

I bought my Hummer H3 after looking at the other types in the market including the FJ. I was in a very bad car crash so I wanted safty and I am a mother so I wanted to be able to count on it when I needed to . I have had some problems with mine . Head light lens take in water even when not off roading . Replaced drive seals ,now making klanking noise in 4 low,4 high locks.Check eng. light keeps on says fuel cap but replaced it . Along with tring to find brighter headlights no luck there.Dealership only one in my area is not helpful. Contacted Hummer corp. help line. still tring there.I have the adventure & luxury pkg. Over all my boys love it & it is nice when not in the shop.

I have had my H3 now for just over a year and I absolutely love it. It is an extremely comfortable ride and, undoubtedly, the best looking SUV out there. I average about 18 MPG combined so the fuel economy is on par with most vehicles in its class. Driving it here in Buffalo during the winter is a blast, as it taking it off road north of the border. Even in extreme conditions, it has passed in flying colors. I drove back from Lake Placid in February during a blizzard with my wife and 2 young daughters. We received more than 2 feet of snow and the H3 was tremendous. I highly recommend this vehicle as it strikes the perfect balance between style, fuel economy, and function.

I bought this so called Hummer and within 3 months sold it. It is totally lacking enough power for the weight ratio. Very satisfied with the H3. It can handle anything ranging from pot-holes to hard core off-roading. It puts Jeeps in their places and has no problems keeping up with the H1 or H2 in most situations. For an SUV with the rigged off road terrain look, it sure drives really nice. The turning radius is amazing. The Monsoon stereo is a definite must. The oversized sunroof lets plenty of sky light in on a warm sunny day. Considering the size of the tires, there is really not a lot of tire humming. When gripping the steering wheel, it gives you a sense of power and confort all at the same time. The two downfall areas I see is that the window lock controls are too far back for the driver to access it. The space between the door and the power seat controls are very tight. You have to reach in front of the seat, then slide your wrist between the seat and the door panel. Overall, I love my H3.

Our H3 purchased online after disliking local dealership. Has adventure package and other options. 18 months and 20,000 miles later we are loving it and plan to keep many more years. Did a lot of comparing-old truck 4x4 was 19 years old and we could choose anything. It is what the literature says. Small engine/power only concern for those that need quick pickup-we do not. Wish GM would get on the stick with a bit of a mudflap for the front tires as we got the rockguard and the only flaps available do not fit, they will if you have the stepup but the rockguard is different fit. All in getting what you want and we compared everything out there.

Had to convince my wife to buy it but now she is a convert. I love the looks both exterior and interior and the quality of the build. The turning radius is impressive for the Hummer-- Tighter than some cars. Power could be better but, if you are not towing something it is adequate. Gas mileage is decent for an SUV its size. Only 2 negatives in my book---More space between the seat and door for making adjustments to the seat and having an option for driver seat position memory. 24,000 miles later, I am very happy that I own an H3.

You can even let down the back seats to make more space. I won a RED H3 and everywhere I go, people are complimenting me on this. Countless electrical problems from traction control sensors to interior lights illuminating when the brakes were applied. The truck has been towed in to the dealership 5 times because it fails to start. It's been in the shop over 22 days and the dealer can't determine what causes the problem. We just experienced our first significant snow fall here in NJ and my H3 was in the shop. I can only tell you that it is a very fun vehicle to drive and that it makes my previous vehicle a 2001 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab feel like a toy. It's a fun vehicle to drive and can climb over curbs & medians with ease. Very comfortable seats. Quiet. Feels beefy with suspension muscle. My kids love the dual DVD and we get lots of compliments. I'm very pleased with my H-3. It's a little under powered, but with all the gears it's fine. I wish they had beefed up the front end a little. Tie rods look small and worry they may break under heavy offroading. Bigger motor would have been nice, but the mileage would have been a lot worst.

I purchased my H3 in the summer of 2006. I thought I should wait at least a year before I could give any proper praise or criticism of the H3. I primarily used it for driving in snow conditions on my way to ski. It's quite nice to be waived through when chain restrictions are required of other cars in heavy snowfall. I have also used it extensively on Camping trips to National Parks and Forests, where some of the roads are extremely poor. The vehicles off road abilities far surpass any of the other SUVs I have owned, both foreign or domestic makes. The H3 seems to be at home in off road conditions. I don't worry about road conditions in National Forests like I would have in my 4Runner.

We purchased our H3 after a lot of homework. We were apprehensive concerning all the complaints about the H3 being underpowered. We have owned V-8 powered vehicles mostly and were afraid to give up that power availability. We realized that though the H3 has only an I-5 cyl., it is geared low. The H3 does just fine with the equiped engine, as long as your intentions are not to race the vehicle. We are very happy with the performance and gas mileage. It's just fun to drive. We don't miss our V-8.

I have had my H3 for about a year, and I have only one thing. The radio buttons are wearing off. For me personally, the gas is not bad and it uses just about the same my old Ford Taurus did. The interior of the H3 with all the upgrades it can hold is great. I have found a great way to keep the children happy and quiet with the dual DVD system. I love this car and so does my husband. We both get compliments on it.

I absolutely love my screaming red H3. Almost everything about it is wonderful. The only complaint I will voice is with regard to the stereo. Within weeks of purchasing my H3 the coating on the stereo/radio buttons started to wear off. I had to have my radio replaced - I was told they used "soft touch" paint in the design and it was wearing off for all owners. If it continues to happen I will have to have my stereo replaced yet again. Other than that...no complaints. The most wonderful car I ever owned - and I went from my beloved 20 year old BMW 528e that I drove off the lot brand new in 1986 to my H3 and I love it!!!

I have owned my H3 for a year now and racked up 14,000 miles so I think I can say it is an exceptional vehicle. I see ratings dragged down everywhere by test-drivers and tree huggers but when you are considering a new suv guesses and fairy tales should not be good enough. In a word it is a solid 8 for anyone other than a moterhead speed freak and a 10 for on / off road mixers... Sadly - it is and will always be both a GM and a low end model under the hood so until the design a specific v6 for it - you will be risking your money (as with any GM)... The only real problem is the weight and some pushing on neg. camber turns...

My husband has a black H3 that he has totally chromed out..He has this H3 looking like it came out of a SEMA catalog. Its gorgeous and mean. I really enjoy driving and riding in the truck. Very comfortable, the front leather seats feel like recliners. Turning radius is fantastic. OnStar is wonderful!! We have had the H3 for about 9 months now and all we do is drive it. We have 24k miles on it and purchased it with 11k already on it. Have had 0 problems. We have taken it on an offroad Hummer weekend and I've never seen a SUV do the things this one did. The H2s could not compete with its onroad capabilities. The only disadvantage is the fuel consumption, 15mpg,but takes reg. unleaded!

After owning this vehicle for a year, I am ready to trade it. Loved the looks, but it is over-rated. It really lacks power and acceleration speed. Good for gas, but not for passing. Foot pedals are much too close. Fiance has a size 13-14 shoe and refuses to drive it. Power window controls are too far back and it has MANY MANY blind spots. You can hide a Civic behind you and not see it in rear-view or side mirrors. (No joke) I am 5'11 athletic female and vehicle still feels a bit tight for us with the leg room we need. Car seats do not fit well in the back seat without MUCHO effort. Great with obstacles and offroading, but lack of power just makes it a downer. Really just for "looks."

The H3 handles good and has a much better than expected turning radus. Here in Colorado I get to drive most suv's and I liked the H3 best for comfort with four on board and ease of handling in town or off road. However the H3 is a little under powered with a five piston, 3.5L engine when you drive at higher altitudes (I live at 7,100 feet above sea level). To get more power when I go into the mountains or on the Interstate I put in a Vortec supercharger and intercooler. Remember that this suv is 4,800 lbs. so its not a light weight but with another 100 plus horse power it has some get up and go. I have lost some mpg's but if I drive with a little care its not more than 10 to 15%.

But its well suited for the street. It will get 23 mpg on the hiway if you drive 57 mph but it go down to 19 if you go 66. Its not a hot rod but its not supposed to be one either. It really is great off road and I have had 3 Bronco's. The ride is great also considering its off road gift. First GM truck so we will have to see how it holds up. No lease I own it.

We bought the vehicle 6 months ago and really enjoy the style because it has class. I am one that uses the FWD and it is hard to get stuck. I have owned seven FWD's and this one get's the best gas mileage and the most comfortable. The interior noise is very minimal and it has no bad blind spots. People seem to indentify this as a solid patriotic american vehicle. I own three thousand acres on the navajo reservation and have had to use the FWD many times including pulling other peoples SUV's out of the mud.

This is my favorite automobile yet. It truly accomplishes what it was designed to do. Crawl, dig, pull, forge, or climb--this Hummer will get you where you want to go. On road performance is outstanding, it handles like a dream on the street. However, if you're looking for a dragster you're in the wrong place. Low-end torque is more than sufficient for getting around while I do agree that horsepower could be better for the highway. I recently saw kids playing with their H3 Happy Meal toys. I have been stopped on several occasions by kids saying "look ma, a Hummer!" The Hummer brand truly is an american icon- -I mean how many Toyotas do you see them stuffing into Happy Meals?

I am extremely pleased with my new H3! I got it in black with the luxury package, sunroof, chrome wheels and chrome steps and trim package. I had shopped around and concluded the H3 with it's current pricing is one of the very best values around in a rugged 4-wheel drive SUV. It handles incredibly well and is just plain fun to drive. My four daughters are now all "Hummer girls", and my wife, who at first was a tough sell, really likes it after driving it around town a few times. Highway mileage is as advertised - about 19 mpg which is fairly good for this type of vehicle. I'm already planning on getting another one with the small block V-8 in 2008 when my lease is up.

Former SUVs wouldn't have protected us that well. Good in rollovers? I'd bet my life on it! Important.. get the chip and exhaust upgrade... it makes a huge difference in power. This is one QUIET machine, ride is almost car like in town, but take it on a washboard dirt road, get it to 60 and tape your jaw shut. It is awesome. Smoother than one would ever imagine. Handles like it is still on a highway. Gas milage for me has been 18.9 with the low around 16 in heavy outer loop traffic. I have taken it up some very steep hills of construction site dirt and it acts like they don't exist, and I am talking all I could see was sky! this is probably the best ATV made. I have owned everything from grand cherokee to corvette, with a Harley or two thrown in and I am IMPRESSED. If you are in the market, do yourself a favor and test drive one.

Purchased new dark blue H3 base model for Michigan winters and the Hummer styling. Exterior design is striking. Off-road is great, very nimble and inspires confidence with ground clearance and stability. Good ride on-road. What is going on with the driver's side arm rest? I accidentally lower the windows when I get in with my elbow and the arm rest jabs into my leg (I'm 6'2"). The driver's seat is positioned too low and deep. My left foot hangs up on the parking brake cable. Great buy overall, though. The 2007 has 15 more horsepower which would be nice.

This vehicle is a gas (no pun intended) to drive: fun and suited to both in city and long haul freeway trips at high speeds. It is actually very comfortable and quiet (this automatic has the Morocco Leather Luxury Package with sunroof) on long trips, not at all truck-like. It turns heads but doesn't cause the recriminations of the H2/H1; not that a Hummer driver much cares what is behind them, only what lies ahead! I am looking forward to winter driving and use the off road (Adventure Package) as part of my job. I have owned a Grand Cherokee as well as a full size Mitsubishi Montero and this is more masculine than both of them, combined. I recommend it as a good value with no pretensions.

I traded an 05 Altima SE-R (260HP) for the H3 Luxary Package with Navigation. I have not been disappointed one bit. Brakes are great, and as for the power-- yes it is less than perfect but its a HUMMER and everyone just seems to get out of the way as soon as you look like you're going to move/turn, etc. Its almost humorous. Fit & Finish are the best I've seen on a GM vehicle, ever. Interior styling is far superior to my past GM experiences. It is solid and quiet inside even on brick roads, railroad tracks, or backing over curbs... :-D The headlights are not HID, but they are built like HID with the cone type center reflector. I get flashed with brights more now than with HID's.

I have an H3 with the 4x4 off road package. My car demands attention, It looks good, and has a dominating character off road. It gained my respect the day I was traveling to work on a 2 lane road at 60 mph. I turned the corner to find a truck turning without a turn signal indicator on. My reaction time was minimal. I veered to the left. He also turned in that direction. I then turned to the right with brakes pressed hard. My Hummer responded precise controlled, confident, and I was able to avoid the truck. My only complaints: not enough power on highway and limited visibility in rear window. Backing up is tricky. When they improve that I'll get a new one.I love my Hummer. My husband does too!

Ive been thinking of buying this since it came out last year, had a mercedes c class which I couldnt stand the problems anymore.. anyways I love the H2, was too "BIG" for me (dont like 8-10 mpg, no thank you). My H3 is bigger (inside & outside) than a BMW X5, way bigger than an X3 (though I love BMW's, i probably would have gotten an X5, but they are changing the body in a couple of months and I couldn't wait). I love the personality of this HUMMER, the Acura MDX - doesn't compare - nor does Lexus RX - the Infinity EggUv (i know they have nice reviews, but way too delicate for me)and way to mainstream in their design (they all look "the same" kinda). Got mine "FULLY" loaded for $35,000.00

Colorado driving is good but lack of power on hills at altitude is a major weakness. I looked into aftermarket superchargers but costs of $6000+ make them push the Hummer in to the next class of suv's. To try and overcome this weak point the 2007 has bored out the engine to get 20 more horsepower. I am testing one this week. However loading it up to 5400 lbs. and being pushed by a 5 cylinder engine is a strain.

Just purchased my Hummer and I can honestly say the designers at GM did the proper critical thinking needed to compete in a competitive auto market. It balances between power and economy. No it's not a Porsche eater, but sufficent for it's intended purpose. The build quality and choice of materials is great. Interior controls are well thought out and functional. Exterior design is rugged. Overall, my driving experience has been very positive with very few complaints. I would recommend this vehicle for its unique look, quality, and emphasis on fuel economy. This design will last the test of time, with continued slight modifications GM will have repeat buyers going forward.

All in all, Excellent Vehicle. Perfect curves, looks sharp with chrome package (a must), Interior is clean and smooth with nice features and solid, luxury look. The ONLY Con is the power. I beleive Hummer would have done much better with an engine similiar to the V8 in the impala with auto valve shutdown. The 5cyl. was a good idea, but the 4700 pounds of weight stress the engine. A larger engine would have yielded more power and probably better gas value. The car's design, riding performance, and look more than make up for the underpowered engine. I give this car an 8.5 out of 10 rating. I have had the H3 for 2 months and I must say....I LOVE IT!

I purchased this vehicle in May of 2006 and am enjoying it. I have taken it to DC to a ball game and to Nags Head for a vacation (got to pull a Ford out of the sand). It is surprisingly powerful, agile and fun. I had no problems in the sand and I saw several 4x4 pickups stuck. Fuel economy runs with the Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, etc. Size is not bulky, but manueverable. Only holdback - I got GM supplier pricing and GM will not allow any points built up on GM card to be used. Because of this I will never purchase another GM vehicle, but the H3 is a smart buy for the person who wants 4 wheel drive, a good looking vehicle, avg fuel mileage and one of a kind fun!

You won't regret purchasing this. Plenty of room. The pickup speed is not the greatest but what do you expect from a 5 cylinder. Have owned a year with no mechanical probs whatsoever. The fuel economy is great for its size. Use it for on or off road. That's what it is made for.

You've read all the raps on this car already. It won't drive like a Porsche while pulling a house and still get 40 mpg. It is what it is; and I like it. It's comfortable to drive, handles reasanably well for a heavy truck, and it does everything I expected it to do. The power is sufficient and reasonably balanced with mpg. Interior cargo space is limited - but it's because of the huge wheel wells for off-road suspension travel. I knew what I was getting in to and I got what I expected. I'm very happy with that.

My H3 has proven to be an awesome car/truck. It carries everything easily - surfboards, dogs, and people. I don't worry about scratching a thing since most of the interior is plastic. It's a fun car to drive and the ride is surprisingly good - quiet, comfortable, and safe. It handles very well and has a great turning radius. Visibility is not as good as an average sedan, but then again, this is not a toyota camry, and I've adjusted to taking an extra second to look before I change lanes. I'll be curious to see if they come out with a diesel or hybrid version given all the backlash about gas prices. Either way, I'm already thinking of buying the next generation of the H3.

The new H3 is a vehicle I thought I would never be able to afford to own. To some extent the people and co- workers think you have big bucks. Besides expense people also think that its a gas guzzler, however after driving for over 5,000 its better than my '97 Jeep Wrangler, which has a 4 cyl. I have already been approached at the gas station by people that are eager to give me feedback on the fuel issue. I will get asked at least once a week by a total stranger about the H3,they like it. It does get the attention, girls like guys driving them and guys like girls driving them...its a win-win. Wait for good GM incentives. Interior looks are nice, but slightly uncomfortable! Turning radios is A+

I got this Hummer as a birthday surprise from my wife. I drove one of these when I was in the Marine Corps and with very few exceptions this one is much nicer than the military version. It is a comfortable smooth riding truck. It lacks a little bit of power, but it wasn't designed for speed and the lack of power is a good compromise for fuel economy. I love the truck for what it was designed for, its off-road capabilities. Although even if you never take this truck off the payment you can benefit from its capabilities, when driving in rain, flooding, etc.

Traded in my Avalanche for new H3. Much better mileage and the style really turns heads. Much easier to park and more agile. Maybe a little underpowered but rides great on the highway and off-road is supreme. Worth a look if you want a smaller SUV. Plan on trips with 4 people or less, 5 is crowded.

This is car is sooo slow trying to drive it around a city you might as well walk or risk being rear ended. The H3 so uncomfortable. it's loud, tippy and drives like a milk truck, it had 1,800 miles and looked as if it had 40,000 the interior was already falling apart. Ohter than that the fuel economy's not bad and it looks like a baby H2 if you like that sort of thing buy anything else

We did not intend to buy a Hummer, but the test drive surpassed any other vehicle priced the same or higher. Fuel economy on this car is much better than many other trucks we looked at. The biggest obstacle we ran into is other people's ignorance of this fine auto. Within the first 24 hours of purchase we were chastized twice by stangers for having a gas hog (not true), people assume we paid much more than the car retails for (I agree it looks like it should), and a cruiser called in our plate. This car will attract a lot of attention and not all of it positive, which is unfortunate because these issues are not valid. Without reservation I highly recommend this vehicle in all respects.

I have a toyota 4runner with 4.0l six cylinders engine it takes it 10.5 seconds from 0-60 miles, exactly how much it takes a five cylenders 3,5 L H3 to reach 60 miles/hour. it feels more comfortable in the H3, more special and eye catching as it is not all over the place (yet). the most beautiful thing is that you have loads of accessories to add, chrome handles, side steps, roof lamps etc, every month i can add something to it to make it more unique, i added a rear camera it is pretty usefull and solve the vision issue.next year i am planning to super charge it and then i will give it a 10/10

I test drove every General Motors SUV out there, nothing compared to the H3. The Hummer stops on a dime, is high off the ground, easy to drive and steer. The H3 can cut better at the wheel than my old Grand AM. The rear window was a concern for me since some people mentioned the spare tire blocking it. It DOES NOT block the rear window, it does maybe 2-3". I can see fine out the rear window day and night time. The side windows are smaller than the usual vehicle but you do not notice it at all. Gas isn't bad, afterall it is a 6000+ lb boxy vehicle. I'm 5'3 and can drive this vehicle just fine.

I had my "baby" hummer as many people refer to it since September, and i really like it. It's a real attention grabber, so get used to it. As far as power goes i dont feel it is sluggish when accelerating, the sunroof is great, very large the only problem is the visibility especially when backing up, Also i have the adventure package and there is quite a lot of noise in the vehicle when driving on the highway. i wonder if it is because of the huge 200 lb tires. Oh well i still love my "baby' Hummer.

I absolutely love my H3. When I first started doing research on it the first thing that caught my eye was the horsepower. I must say it does just fine with the advertised 220. It's not fast off the line but once moving it can pass with ease. Bottom line it's a hummer, it's not made to go fast. The interior is spacious and well laid out. The seat controls are a little hard to get to but that's okay. The ride is very smooth and comfortable. If your thinking about it you need to go to the dealership and test drive one. You'll be surprised..

I am on my 2nd H3 now. The first I bought in Oct. 2005 and had rear noise at 35 mph. After 3 weeks in the shop and the rear axle replaced (do to lapping paste left in the vehicle after shipping) the car started again after it was returned to me and they have now given me another one. At just under 500 miles on the new one the comtuter module went out and had to be replaced. So far so good but I am ready for another car that is not Hummer or GM.

We've had our H3 (automatic with Offroad Pkg) almost six months, so a review is in order. Main use is local short-haul commuting. We occasionally go offroad. Considering the H3 is a true offroad capable rig, its in-town manners are great. It maneuvers better than many sedans. The street ride is kind of truck-like, but the freeway ride is great and amazingly quiet. Visibility issues are overblown; no worse than many popular cars. Engine power is adequate but more would be nice. Doesn't do well on grades at 70. Offroad the H3 is superb but thats a write-up in itself. We get about 13mpg in town (rarely above 40mph), 18+ on trips. Regular. One warranty item; sticky window switch. We love our H3!

Don't they know it was only $38,000. You get heads to turn when the chrome is shinning. Only thing I wish they would of allowed was Chrome Wheels on the added off road package, but I may buy some aftermarket ones this summer. Overall I would recommend a test drive to get you to consider buying one.

Before I purchased this vehicle, I heard the acceleration was poor. I do notice that you have to floor it if you are on an incline (like on a freeway), but I don't mind at all. This vehicle, to me is more about cruising than trying to race other cars. Haven't tried offroading, but I'm sure as Hummer it should be fine.

I have never had so much fun going from here to there. The gas mileage is better than my 4-runner. I don't find the inline 5 prohibitively sluggish, as a matter of fact, in this day of rising fuel prices a little compromise isn't a bad thing. I am 5'7" and don't have a problem at all with visibility. I have owned several highly rated suv's, including three 4-runners and an Acura MDX and this is without a doubt my favorite!

Never thought I'd even consider buying another GM after past experiences with inexcusable poor quality. But the H3 seems to be made a LOT better than GM's of past years. Lack of power issue doesn't bother me much since I live in flat FL, but I do doubt that I would've bought this thing if I lived in a state with mountain highways. It's a head-turner, many people have commented that they like it better than the H2 for all kinds of reasons. If you're looking for a mid-size SUV that has high-end appeal without the high sticker price, I'd recommend it. (Warning; Bank drive-thru's are a problem due to height of doors - long arms required, otherwise you have to climb halfway out the window.

We replaced a 2003 GMC Envoy and were considering the Jeep Commander. My wife suggested the H3, which I had not even considered. We wanted to lease a vehicle that was safe, reliable and unique. The Commander was all those things and about $7,000 less. But with the H3 having such a higher residual than the Jeep, the lease payment was less and we have a lot more equipment than the stripped down Commander. Plus, the DVD special was perfect for us as we have an 18-month old. He loves riding in it!!!

Great driving experiance for under $40K. Commanding view of the road, much more than our TBlazer XL. Got it loaded up with Lux Package, Chrome Package, Head Rest DVD System, etc, all for far below "what others are paying" on this site. Make no mistake, it rides like a truck. But it is classy, turning radius is exceptional and I can't wait to take it through a snowstorm. Very rigid truck - you just feel in command when driving it. Get the step rails - you'll never get in or out without them. Unlike the H2, it doesn't scream "look at me I'm special". It is not a rocket, but unless you will be towing a 5th Wheel (don't), the Inline 5 Cyl is more than enough - don't listen to the complaints.

I have to say that owning this vehicle has been even more fun than I imagined. Good looks, nice interior, a solid build quality and just an overall good value. I have yet to drive a vehicle that I didn't think could use improvements and this one is no exception. I find it a bit difficult to adjust the seat due to the tight placement of the controls. It's a minor annoyance because I rarely adjust the seat. As far as the "power" issue is concerned, this powertrain works well for me. It tows my jet boat without a problem and the pickup (for me) is more than adequate. If an upgraded engine was available I would keep the extra money in my pocket.money.

My lifestyle is not cut out for leasing (drive too many miles) and I was praying for a lease pull ahead to get this Hummer. As soon as the lease pull ahead came, I bought a new H3. I was hoping it would be as nice as my favorite car, my 1996 4Runner. It's better. The ride is just what you'd expect, and the power is better than what I expected. It took a few phone calls to find what I wanted -- Red, luxury package with no sunroof, no chrome. The leather seats are much better than the cloth -- well worth the extra $. Stability and noise level at highway speeds are great. Highly recommend

Got rid of my Yukon Denali XL for the H3. I wanted someting different, Awesome. I choose the Victory red with Prem pagkage. Added the chrome package & WOW!!!! Rides great. I'm 6.2 & hae plenty of room. Heated seat buttons in a bad place for a big guy like me. Some minor complaints below. I did have a 04 Denali XL SLT......I swallowed 7 GMAC payments to get the H3 Did a deal way under invoice...... Used 1k GM card $ 39 mth lease.

The braking system is excellent. Ride is very comfortable. Feel safer. I drive about 70-75 miles a day a combinaton of back country (23) stop and go city (5) and interstate (7). I get about 18.8 mpg with this type driving. I've pulled trailer with no issue. Very fun! This is my 6th 4x4 and the best.

I bought it after comparing the the Jeep Commander to the H3. The Commander had so amny more options but the H3 appearance kept me coming back. The exterior looks are great, the interior is very comfortable. With the size to the H3 a little more leg room could have been found for the rear seat area. The stereo is the best I ever had from the factory. The dash is simple and clean. The stereo was mounted slightly crocked but the dealer took care of that. The ride is very good. The engine, no surprise here, could use a few more horses but considering it is a TRUCK and not a sports car it move well at highway speed.

H3 Hummer is great!

I always wanted a HUMMER and finally in November my wife let me get the H3 and I loved it until this weekend. While driving 40 mph my 2 year old son reached over to the "locked" door and opened the door. How did he do that? There are no child safety locks on the H3, even though I was told when I bought the vehicle that there was. Hummer told me if I disable the lock I will void my warranty, so instead is my son supposed to fall out of the vehicle. The option I was given was to ductape my door, $40k to put tape on my locks? Sorry, not good enough. IF you are without kids buy this vehicle; otherwise, be careful. See you in court GM.

Awesome but ....

Bought my H3 Luxury Package in November after years of owning a Jeep Wrangler and I love it. There are some squeaks and rattles but it buries my old jeep. My biggest complaint is that there are no child safety locks on the doors, which I discovered this weekend when my 2 year old son opened the "locked" door at 45 mph. Major flaw by GM and their response was they think that the auto locks when the car is in drive is enough. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. So if you have more than one child just remember that they will be able to unlock the doors.

I am very pleased with my purchase. The H3 feels very solid and well built. It drives quite nice and cruise the highway well. The stereo is awesome. Everyone knows it is underpowered but as long as you are not looking for sports car performance, it is not an issue. The seats are comfy. Only complaints so far, the stereo is installed slightly crooked and pushes out the center face plate. dealer says bring it in and they will fix it but it is the attention to detail that hurts GM again. Second issue is weather or not the H3 come with a shallow pocket in the center console. This dealer says no and I did not get one, but I am pretty sure it did an it was not installed.

I have always wanted a Hummer but the others were dinasorish and terrible fuel economy. The new H3 is a wonderful design it handles extremly well on the pavement as well as Off road not like most SUV's that have no ground clearence to go off roading yet they claim to be able to handle anything till they bottom out. The H3 also has a very good interior stylish & comfortable for 5 but rugged too. The H3 also has DA BLING exterior offering a great chrome package with a Metallic Blue exterior that simply looks better than the Escalade or the Navigator makes the 4 Runner look like its from 20 yrs.ago boring yet the H3 is less$.The stares from the girls is proof enough. Hi Everyone: I read everything on the H3 before buying it. It's underpowered and all the other quirks about. I can tell you I only have a 1000 miles on it thus far. But, the H-3 is awesome. I don't notice it being underpowered. I have a Jeep Liberty with the V-6 and that is pretty Doggie. The H-3 has excellent torque. I think I could climb a flag pole with it. So, far we are very happy with it. Did, I forget to tell you we are getting 18.9 mpg. The V-6 Jeep Liberty Limited we are lucky to ever get 16 mpg. I love it so far and would recomend it to anyone. Drive to Dallas 3 times a month and its been great. I did notice i have no place to hang my dry cleaning-No Hooks in back? Could move the seat heater controls to where you can see whether the passenger side is on or off and make more room for your hand to access the seat controls. Also I agree with moving the window controls up a bit as someone else pointed out in a previous review. Otherwise no complaints. I used my GMID and got the vehicle @ Invoice.I highly recommend getting one if you're looking at buying an H3.

Two cons to consider: * L5 engine does not provide enough power but great on gas. * Rear window too small and spare tire blocks half of it - technically you are backing up blindly (back-up camera is a necessity not an option).

I really enjoy driving my new H3. I have put about 1000 miles on it and have found it to be exactly what I expected. I have read complaints about the power off the line but have not had a problem with it. I love the luxury package that I purchased. My wife loves the heated seats, which means she is not burning me out with the heater. I have connected the on board telephone to my Verizon wireless account. Very nice to be able to use the hands free. My wife enjoys driving it because the kids stay quiet watching DVD’s that were installed in the headrest. The blind spots took a little getting used to but nothing that a two-dollar blind spot mirror did not take care of. Over it is great.

A bit too many squeaks and rattles when bought, but otherwise an excellent vehicle. Not a powerhouse, but plenty of power to climb the mountainous terrain around AZ. Great gas mileage for a pretty hefty sized vehicle (4700 lbs) with almost 20 mpg highway. Excellent interior style and comfort, even on long rides. Very quiet ride even at highway speeds. Great layout of all controls. Lots of ground clearance combined with the locking rear differential makes this vehicle a true off-roader capable of anything a jeep can do. Keep up the good work GM.

After owning 5 new Jeep GrandS The new 2006 just looked to much like a van sorry I wanted a four wheel dive not a van! I looked at all of the big names, but they all looked the a same van van ect. last but not least the H3 True love at first drive! Why! ride fit and looks. Point it were you want to go and you will be there! Down side? Backing takes about the day or a week to get use to, Driver side controls a litte hard to find but no big deal. The ride says I CAN DO IT! An the H3 is the one to do it! My first trip was 800 miles, 19 miles to gal. Looks to many to be true! If you do not want to be seen do not buy! Onstar is great , for the real thing at great price just drive a new H3

I just purchased the vehicle a couple days back and it's been amazing so far. I sold my Volvo XC90 and I'm very glad I did I'm enjoying the H3 much more. Everyone I know has been giving me compliments about the design on the inside and outside. The only thing I can compare it to is my old SUV the Volvo and there is no comparison there this H3 is simply much better. It's a better drive on road, a better look, and better off-road. I had so many problems with replacing Volvo parts and their service was terrible it feels good to have an American vehicle now. I have a feeling I will be sticking with Hummer vehicles for a long time after this one.

I've had my H3 since August and love it more every day! For those who question the power - This hasn't been an issue at all for me. I've had no trouble passing vehicles (though I have had a hard time keeping it under 70 mph on the hwy) and wouldn't give up my good gas mileage to go back to my old V8. The styling is great. Looks tough as nails going down the road (or mountain) but with a smooth ride. Love my leather seats & dash design - looks modern. The turning radius is fantastic & the moonroof is huge. I've had to get use to backing up - limited view, windows are pretty high (my arms have a hard time reaching the drawer at bank drive-through) but I love 98% of it! A head turner!

This truck is clearly made for women driving to and from grocery stores Every single friend of mine who was driving my H3 is saying same thing great handling more like a car not truck, quiet and comfy inside, good looking interior but engine is so weak !!! beige leather got dirty after two weeks of driving ( I'm driving to work 22.5 miles one way) probably because my black leather belt and jeans believe me I'm using AC and I'm not over weighted & 200lb. My husband bought an h3 for me for christmas coming from a ford expedition i was really disappointed. The h3 is cute from the outside ,but it is really small, worst part the h3 does not i repeat does not have child safe rear doors. which means that a child can unlock the door from the inside back seat of the vehicle . I called the number in the back of my owners manual and was told that hummer could not even install them for me. I do not believe that a car that a child can open that easily is even remotely safe for them.

Just purchased the H3 a few weeks ago. I'm impressed with the styling and the overall vehicle quality. I am happy with my decision so far, however, the engine could use more torque and HP, which I am actively seeking aftermarket products for. I actually use my SUV for hauling materials I need during my remodel project, and so far, I've not been disappointed. Believe it or not, I traded an '04 Cayenne for this, as I was tearing it apart hauling tile, lumber and concrete in it....trust me, Porsche hasn't figured out what an SUV is for...however, the Cayenne S would smoke this H3 on the street. Anyway, I'll use this for a few years and see how it goes....so far, I'm impressed.

This is a great vehicle. Traded in a Isuzu Trooper. This thing feels like a race car. Ride is stiffer than a normal SUV. Off road it feels very safe and stable. Traction both accelerating on ice and braking on snow/ice is excellent. I have owned nothing like it in the past. Rear visibility somewhat less than normal but huge outside rear view mirrors help out greatly. Gas mileage is right on based on the window sticker. It took 5000 miles to get that. Might even get better, who knows.

The turning radius is awesome. The structural design gives a great sense of safety and security within the cabin. A joy to drive, ample power, despite bad press concerning same, and good mileage. Every tank with 90% city driving is at 16 mpg and it uses regular gas. The kind of vehicle which makes you create reasons to go somewhere. An extra feature is that my wife loves it as much as I do.Wish she had her own!

Priced right, and great looks. The H3 clearly beats all its competitors. A little soft in the acceleration department. Goes great off road. Some interior buttons are a bit small. A blast to drive. I am 5' 7" and there are some large blind spots. You need to use your mirrors all the time and the glance over the shoulder can show you the back seat anyway. An after market seat cushion eliminated almost all of this. I am getting an honest 15 mpg in town, and haven't done enough highway to really quote. I have a standard Adventure series, and I am not sure what else you could need for options. Leather would be great, but once you start adding things, the price goes up quickly. Love it

As with any new car or truck, you might run into problems, but my H3 has been in the dealer's shop 5 times now for different things from the rear window panels were warped from the heat of the sun from the H3 sitting in storage. The passenger's seat belt had problems, The Bigger was the belts sqweek for an hour after I started it and made a loud chirping sound. The dealer rep said that this is a common problem and they're using special belts down for it. My H3 was fixed and so was seat bel problem. Just got recall notice in mail about rear window washer needs replacement. Back into the shop it goes =( I still love the truck very much, but I hope this is the last dealer visit.

Update to my 11/22 review. On 11/26 the transmission went out. Dealership says no others have been reported losing the tranny. They loaned me an H3, so I was happy with that. They took 2 1/2 weeks to fix it though! They have now had it longer than me. I got to drive one with the Adventure package, though, and liked the performance in a heavy snow that we had. Got my H3 back two days ago and seems fine. Keeping my fingers crossed. Love most everything else about it. Can live with the mileage and power. Lux pkg is nice. Do watch backing up, however.

The Hummer is a exciting suv to drive. It has a tight turning radius. But the engine lacks power, especially when towing. Otherwise it seems to have adequate power although I would like to see GM up the horsepower to 275 or more. The ride with the off road package has been great especially off road. It also rides well on paved roads as well. Visibilty is low, but on the outside it looks great with the chopped look. It handles very well on snow covered roads.

Driving this truck is so much fun, its a show stopper. Everyone stares and looks at the vehicle. Land Rover owners are jealous and try not to look. Could use more storage spaces inside, need to relocate the electric seat buttons to somewhere else other than the bottom of side seats, hard to reach with the arm rest in the way.

Everywhere I go, somebody makes a comment about the truck! I wanted to get the marker lights, but found out that they don't offer them anymore. I also wanted the chrome package( side mirrors, and handles), found out only available on the luxury package.

It's an eye turner, looks all the time. Purchased with auto trans, Adventure off road package, Premiem sound system. Avg. about 15 mpg, Don't know if I had the standard suspension, but don't really like the highway ride with the adventure Pkg. alot of static using the radio system , mirror control should be lit at night, engine is fine if you're not looking to be a speed demon. Visibility limited use caution when backing.. Would I get another??? Don't know at this point ! If I would rate this from 0 being the worst and 10 the best I would give it a 7....

I have enjoyed driving this vehicle more than any vehicle I have ever owned. The only car I would rate close to this was a 1999 Camaro SS. The handling and ride are better than I ever expected. I'm 62 presently and I beleive I will always own a Hummer H3 along with my second vehicle. My congratulations to General Motors for providing me a vehicle of this quality for this price that is so enjoyable to drive. Everyone in my family and circle of friends has been very impressed. Thank You Again General Motors.

Positives: The exterior detail and interior style are A+ for this SUV. The thick steering wheel felt comfortable in my hands while driving, better than any other car on the market (very similar to an F1 wheel). The turning radius of the H3 was shocking. After driving a Range Rover, I had low expectations, but the H3 was able to deliver a tight 180. The moonroof is large compared to similar SUVs, another plus. I thought the interior amenities would be cheap or lacking for the price, but again, I was quite pleased. Offroading is amazing in this car. Negatives: Needs more power. The I-5 Turbo that was originally intended would have been a nice balance of power/efficiency.

Comfortable, stable, decent mileage, excellent equipment, great quality, and fun. Can't wait for it to snow! Would def. recommend. My daughter has a Mercedes SLK and wants to drive the Hummer! After riding and owning several SUV ,This Hummer is an eye catcher, Ride is kinda harsh , Don't know because of the stiffer suspension in the Adventure pkg. But all round it's a good package. Could use a bigger engine, foot room at the gas and brake pedals could be wider. This is a nice vehicle but had owned and driven better. use caution when backing limited view

This SUT is a real attention getter! Everywhere I go people stop me and ask about it. I've taken it on a 200 mile road trip and driven it in city traffic. So far, it has been a blast. I was not sure what I was getting into when I bought it. I read the reviews about the lack of power. I've found it to be fine on the highway. I've hit passing gear a couple of times with no issues. In a perfect world it would have more power, but at this point I'm not ready to give up the gas mileage. The four wheel disc brakes stop on a dime. I hate to admit it, but I have already found this out first hand.

Got my H3 in Sept, went to Western Colorado and Moab Utah. Took out back seat to allow sleeping in back (getting old, don't like the ground any more, pitching a tent takes too long) Yes needs flat floor and about 4 more inches. Climbed everything, I Have off road package,( 5 spd)did need low range, didn't have to lock up the rear axel.Used the locker ounce at Moab, nothing too challenging as I don't have the nerf bars on yet. Gears are whinny in low range, the hold back feature on down hills is great, saves brakes. MPG on Hwy 17-18.5 in town 18-19!! Needs something up front to cut wind improve aeros. Door seals keep dust out, but allow it inside doors, pain to clean. needs 25 more HP.

If you have driven a large SUV equipped with a V8 engine, you'll be VERY disappointed. The vehicle screams Hummer until you step on the gas. I went in to trade my Durango Limited (Hemi, AWD) and got to try out the Hummer for almost a week. I wish I could put the Dodge drivetrain in this vehicle, it would be perfect. GM could throw in a 350-400hp LS1 engine and they wouldn't lose much mpg. If you don't have anything to compare it to, you may not be disappointed. There should be another engine option.

I love the H3 styling inside and out. Also the great ride/handling. I am amazed by all the Auto journalists bashing the H3 as underpowered -- aren't these the same journalists who screamed about the terrible mileage of the H2?!? So Hummer makes a mid-size model that gets decent mileage for the segment, and now it's underpowered? The H3 has adequate power - not too much, not too little. And decent mileage, especially considering its capabilities. In the real world, that is your tradeoff. It is very maneuverable and gives a commanding view and feel for the road. One of the most fun-to-drive vehicles I have ever owned. I'm actually looking forward to Winter now.

This is my first POV Hummer, I have been in the Army/ Reserves for +10Yrs and really like the rugged tough as nails looks of this car, it has functioned thus far flawlessly and I only dilike the fact that the rear headrests don't fold down like the Trailblazer I had before because that would help rear visibility. We have taken it up the High Walls of a local strip mine and many tracks lead up but, few go all the way!!!

Have owned for 3 months now. Just got back from a weakend at AM General Hummer course in South Bend IN. Dealer sponsored event. I am amazed at what the H3 will do. Went off roading with H1 and H2's. Thought I might be outclassed by bigger more expensive Hummers. The H3 will handle anything and H2 can and more. I have pics of H3 pulling the H2 out of the mudd. On road H3 is smooth and comfortable to drive.

Last time I wrote I was annoyed at some technogly issues. The Hummer sevice people fixed them. Now I will objectively state the pros and cons of the H3 based on mine. The are pros good gas mileage for an SUV, show stopping looks , nice interior for GM , decent handling characteristics , roomy back seat, and the ride comfort of (I have ridden in both of these cars) a Lincoln Town Car and Cadillac Deville/DTS . The cons are not enough horse power and torque for sporty driving , getting to highway speeds easily, or towing, poor rearward visablity , and poor cargo room. I consider eather waiting for the SRT8 Jeep(45k). If you can afford it the Range Rover Supercharged(90k)the best SUV in the world

This is an SUV made for outdoors enthusiast not soccer moms. If you are a hunter, camper, hiker, etc., you will greatly appreciate the real value of this vehicle. If you really need a station wagon that is good on the road when it snows, you will be better served with a BMW X5/Lexus GX470, which are fine autos. Edmunds, knocks the H3 for cargo space, acceleration and towing capacity. The towing gripe is lagit (4500 lbs), but the acceleration is quite good especially 0-50. You only notice the power slump 50-80 when passing, but it is NOT bad and you will appreciate the improved mpg. As far as cargo space goes it is actually one of the best? Compared to a Touareg, BMW, etc. it is HUGE.

One month ownership and Two Thousand miles later. The H3 is very comfortable to drive. It is a little slow off of the line, and on up hill mountain grades. However, it has a smooth ride, and very nimble turn radius. It keeps up with the H2's on off road courses, or even performs better due to its smaller size. It fits nicely in parking spots as its size is smaller than a van. I have averaged 17.2 miles per gallon using 89 octane rating or premium although the H3 is designed for regular unleaded. The interior is very nice. It could use some dry cleaning hooks and a change cubby. You can't be collectic with this vehicle. It feels rugged, powerful and fun to drive.

I love driving my Hummer. I purchased the luxary package in Boulder Grey and put 450 miles on it the first week I owned it. I have three kids in car seats, so it is a tight fit on the back seat. I have to be careful closing doors so no ones hand gets smashed. The cargo area is also smaller the expected. Again, it is a tight fit for the double stroller I carry. Overall, the kids love the Hummer as much as me. It get good gas mileage and the sound system and onstar are nice to have. The salespeople at our dealership bent over backwards for us to give us the best deal ever. We will definitely be repeat customers.

I recently purchased an H3 and love it. My biggest concern was that it would be too big of a car for me to drive being that I am only 4 11 and have always driven small cars. I had been doing research on SUVs but never imagined a Hummer. Once I test drove it I was convinced, it is easy to maneuver and feels very light weight. I will however have to have side runners installed so that I can get in and out much easier. This is a perfect beach automobile. Oh yeah....my husband really likes it too.

Nice machine, beefy and gets alot of looks. Why? Who knows. Is it because it's a new vehicle, because of the black color, because of it's unique design, or is it simply because it's a HUMMER. I think Consumers Report magazine was way off on their review. Some findings are correct but overall it is nothing you can't live with. I find it to be alot less smaller than the gas sucking large suv's and some of those king size trucks. You won't feel worried driving this size HUMMER! It is much more efficient than many other vehicles on the road today! Good price!

I have had many cars, ranging from 5speedster convertibles to midsize to v8 trucks. The H3 is no comparison to either class, it would not be a fair comparison to the other cars. But, if you want to know, this is a car for a thrill seeker. Do not look for power because you shall find none. Do not expect the suspension of an avalanche or much less a cadillac, this car has a firm, sure of itself ride. I like the car not b/c it is the first one to escape the beaurocratic non- confrontational, tamed designs that have plagued the auto industry, the one that broke the mould. And, as previously said, it is just as fun to ride and admire from whichever angle. Wished seats were raised up a bit more.

I've had the chance to drive an H1 alpha and the H2, and the H3 feels just as confident as its older and larger siblings. Since it has that HUMMER name you know it is capable of treking off road without worries. While driving the H3, it was noticeably quiet, even on MI roads. I have a manual transmission, and that transmission tunnel interferes with the gas pedal with my ski's I call size 12 feet. Good thing was that the engine produced enough torque where it didn't need gas to start off, just let the clutch out and it goes! Definitely feel comfortable with the higher cut doors and the slit windows, although these hinder the view beside and behind.

Positives: Great stereo, turning radius, fits in garage, tough & durable, great off road, cool interior styling...nice fabric colors/textures..rubberized rear cargo surface is AWESOME..easy to clean, nice dash look & easy to reach. Negatives: Motor power, little tight for second row seating, window controls on arm rest hard to reach, lack of air vents & controls in center & rear of vehicle. Off road capabilities rivalled only by the H1 and some high end Rovers (maybe). Head turner. Acceleration wasn't as bad as expected for a Hummer, yet torque/towing capability needs to be enhanced (225/4500lb rating). Need to have optional seating for six or maybe even 7. Gas mileage is better than our Explorer.

Two points stick in my mind, a total lack of power and poor QC. The Black H3 I drove couldn't get out of it's own way and had heavy orange peel all over the body. Think of what anti-chip coating, which is normally applied to lower body panels looks like, now think of a whole vehicle that looks like it was painted with a roller. All of the in stock units had the same problem. Naturally, the dealer didn't seem to see a problem. The versions I looked at also had misaligned body and interior panels reminding me of a Cavalier. The H1's & 2's nearby did not look anywhere near as bad. A neat vehicle on paper, it's too bad it got executed the way it did. Look closely before you b

Just a note that many of these negative H3 reviews should be disregarded, as most of them are NOT really H3 owner's...just HUMMER haters. I have owned my Boulder Grey H3 for a month and a half and have enjoyed EVERY minute of it. I have not had ONE single problem with it either. Those that complain of the engine's power...did you test drive it or read any of the reviews? I will give up a little power for improved gas mileage...especially now. I have the lux pkg., and it rides incredibly smooth. I don't know of any "actual" owner who has said that it is a rough ride. Everyone that has ridden in mine has been impressed with the handling and the finishing on the interior and exterior.

I understand the idea was mileage, but 0-60 is only .2 seconds faster than my 1995 ford explorer. Also the cargo room is horrible! When your in colledge 55ft ain't cuttin' it! Further more my salite radio broke recently, Yet GM is still makin' me pay for it. It seems to me that until GM can get its costs down and build things right you should look but don't buy!!!!!!! Until these GM reliabilty/build quality issue have proven themselves fixed I am questioning the thought of buying that corvette I was thinking about.

Been looking at Land Rover and Toyota Landcruiser for long time, but didn't like the prices (and rep. of LR Reliability). Once I looked & did H3 test-drive, I was hooked. Purchased the next week with Leather, sunroof, and Adventure Package (all a must). The good-ol-boys in Shreveport, LA have crafted a "ride" that would please anyone from executives to high-tech Rednecks. If you don't like to get looks, or if you like to "burn rubber", buy another vehicle. The power is ideal for on or off-road, but not if you will tow things larger than a 20ft ski or fishing boat in the mountains. I've been a Ford guy for years, but hats-off to GM on this H3.

Thoroughly enjoy driving the H3; looks like the larger sibling, but easy to fit into normal sized parking spaces and has good gas economy. H3 gets alot of positive comments for its look and the main question asked is about gas mileage rating. I'm currently averaging about 18mpg combined city/freeway. The luxury model has leather seating and is very comfortable on longer trips. I've owned the Lexus RX300 and Nissan Murano SUVs and the H3 is a worthy competitor in the midsize market and should be considered a US SUV market challenge to all off-shore manufacturers.

I have a H3 that has been in the shop for 37 of the 65 days I have owned it and still counting. They are replacing the rear trans axle for the 3rd time. I also have had the rear sub replaced. They are now trying to find some strange noise that is in the engine compartment. They have 2 techs working on it and 2 engineers from GM. The catalytic converter had something wrong with it and was robbing power. I am trying to get them to buy it back as we speak. It's not that I want to drive something else I just don't want this one. If you start hearing a whinning noise at about 35 mph you have the same problem.

We absolutely love our hummer, we got both the luxury package as well as the adventure package and this vechicle off-roading is unbelievable. However it truly struggles in the mountains of Nevada towing our boat which weighs a total of 3700lb (boat & trailer) it definitely needs a bigger engine. Overall we love it and have had alot of looks and questions regarding it. We will definitely be looking at the 2008 with the bigger engines for a trade in, but for now we are enjoying it and having alot of fun with it !!

I have owned a ton of cars: VW's, Volvos, BMW's, Mercedes, Suburbans, Jeep CJ-7, etc... I currently own a GMC Yukon XL 4X4, Dodge Ram 4X4, Corvette C-5, and some old classics. I gotta tell you, this HUMMER H3 is an AWESOME VEHICLE! I feel it is the best looking HUMMER to date and actually works quite well on today's roads. The ride is super smooth and quiet with great handling and very tight turning radius. Mine is black with LUX package (leather, 6-disc CD Monsoon stereo, ONSTAR, etc.) auto-trans w/ stabilitrak, sunroof, chrome pkg., chrome roof rack, chrome tubular assist steps, side curtain air bags, XM radio, and trailer hitch. With gas over $3, I find the power more than adequate.

I fully loaded my new H3 with most everything and didn't break $40,000. This is by far the most fun I've had and the thrill has yet to wear off. The leather seats are a must and are as comfortable I've experienced. I absolutely love the FAT leather steering wheel! This should be an option in all GM vehicles. Power is just fine and is in balance with its decent fuel economy. Adventure package with 33" wheels makes the truck!

Want a HUMMER but the cost of ownership preventing you from buying one? The H3 is a dream come true as it will provide you that genuine "HUMMER" experience at a reasonable price and it won't break the bank at the gas station either. I have owned my H3 for 6 weeks and logged about 2200 miles. I am very impressed with the H3 in every aspect except for the under powered I-5 engine but I see this as a trade off for the good gas mileage. the fit and finish of the H3 is exceptional the interior is very comfortable and roomy. the H3 has a very solid but "refined" feel on the road but off road is where the H3 truly excels as it's probably one of the best "factory" stock off road vehicles ever made

Really a nice truck. Has typical GM lack of thought. Hard to reach seat controls, window controls just where you would put your arm to rest, mi- installed exterior parts (upper marker lights, forward edge exposed makes horrible wind noise), no grab handle for the driver, no mirror for the driver. Overall a nice vehicle for the money it has just gotten the GM penny pinching that would have made it great!

I've always wanted a Hummer ever since the H1's came out. I got my H3 as a gift and just love it. The ride is great, smooth, and very un truck-like. The inside was very carefully thought out and it shows. Everything about it is great, except the gas mileage, but its what you would expect with a Hummer. Something else great about it, the price will not kill you. It's a great vehicle.

I knew what I was getting with this Hummer and so I love it! The H3 is unique vehicle for a the rugged SUV lover. If you want a SUV that rides like a car - the H3 is not for you. The H3 is fun to drive in it's own right as the feeling of empowerment comes as stadard equipment. It is underpowered but with recent gas prices I'll take the fuel savings as a benefit of not having a V8.

Many 'Sport Utility Vechicles' have neither sportiness nor utility. Luckily, the H3 at least has utility. Like the other Hummers, it performs admirably on unpaved roads and dirt trails. But there is definitely no sportiness to this SUV. It handles horribly. The ride quality is extremely rough. Visibility is extremely poor. It is still too big to comfortably fit in a standard-sized parking space. Forgot about parallel parking this thing. The engine is sorely underpowered for the weight of this vehicle. An 11-12 second 0-60 time is unacceptable and extremely unsafe. I do not recommend this SUV.

The vehicle is very nice. The handling is amazing, for its mass. The turning radius is very impressive, better than many sedans. On road, it rides very nice, everyone that has driven it loves its handling/ride. Off road, it is among the best available. I've already taken it down a few trails and I am impressed with its capability over rocks, sand, mud, and inclines. The features and quality appear to be very good, which was more than I expected, considering the manufacturer.

Just bought the new H3. The new Hummer looks great; nice fit and finish; the engine is absurd. The H3 barely moves. You cannot safely merge into high speed traffic; any incline and you feel it constantly downshift. What was GM thinking? This engine cannot move the H3 safely. Do not buy this vehicle. Shame on General Motors.

When you invent reasons to get in your H3 just for the thrill of the trip, you know you've picked a vehicle that will continue to be a source of enjoyment for many years.I had read reports before purchasing that criticized the power available in the H3, but I have not been disappointed.Taking into consideration weight and horsepower available;it's adequate for my driving. Highway travel is very comfortable, even with the adventure package options, and you are not aware that you are exceeding the speed limit. My first four tanks of gasoline in city driving has produced 16+ mpg on each tank. Only complaint is window & lock button panel on driver armrest is where you want to rest your elbow.

After a week of driving, I'm really glad I bought an H3. Don't believe anything you hear about lack of acceleration or a cramped back seat. I say, "compared to what" - a Corvette or a streach limo? Visibility is somewhat limited. During a mild trail ride, I dented my rear bumper when I backed into a tree stump. I should have gotten out and checked before backing. The good news is it took my body shop less than a hour to replace the bumper. They said it was a very well-planned design and they only had to remove 3 bolts to take off the bumper. Total cost was $400.

I picked up this truck on July 2nd, and each day cannot wait to drive it. I previously owned an Expedition and love this truck. The ride is very comfortable, although the engine power is far less than an Expedition. The pick-up is a little slow but once you get going you maintain speed very well. I didn't purchase this truck for the power, I'll keep my trans-am for that.

Bought the H3 with lots of anticipation. The vehicle looks great and rides very nicely. Fun to be seen with. BUT, at this point I would not recommend it. I do not need a rocket ship, but this H3 is so under powered that it is simply not acceptable. The engine is not up to the car. Slow is an understatement. Had GM had any sense they would have put a Chevy V8 in the H3 and then you would have had something wonderful. As it is, the H3 is just terrible only because of the weak engine. Would not tell anyone to buy it.

This is a great ride. Fun and sporty exterior, functional and comfortable interior. Running about 17 mpg right now. Could use a little more horsepower, but is adequate for this smaller Hummer. Accesories help beef up the H3. Many are not available until late summer. Interior fabrics are durable and attractive. Dashboard is well designed...easy to read...easy to reach. Center console storage area is a little small, but works. Large jockeybox. Second row seat comfortable- door access a little snug, but not bad. Second seats fold flat so lot of carrying capacity in rear. Rear door opens easy. Rear area has rubberized surface-easy to keep clean. Overall excellent vehicle for its size

The H3 is eye catching. It has a large sunroof, big step in height, and the Hummer lines. I think GM has created an excellent SUV to compete against itself. Much better than Trailblazer/Envoy/Rainer SUV's in handling and quality construction. However, this is no Lexus. The H3 is not designed well for families with kids. 3 cup holders and no place for sunglasses.I would think $38,000 would buy a little more. Driver's info center (nope), large center console (nope), easy to reach window and seat controls (nope). For people without kids or as a second vehicle it is very fun to drive, feels safe, and is smooth even with 33inch wheels/tires.Of course I still love my H3, even with it's shortcomings

All interior components are easy access and user friendly. The monsoon stereo is like driving in a concert hall. Plenty of room for my stuff and my dog too! The exterior is,well,it's a Hummer, need I say more? It handles like a dream, great turning radius and good acceleration. The power was our biggest concern but not anymore. I drive two canyons to get to my home and it breezes right up in the fast lane.If I'd wanted a muscle car I wouldn't have looked at any SUV.Finally a Hummer I can own!

I just got my new H3 and absolutely love it's looks and price, but I've got an issue with the suspension. When I drive on the highway and go over larger bumps and uneven surfaces, the steering wheel jerks abruptly and the vehicle swerves and wobbles. It's worse when it happens while I'm changing lanes or in the middle of a turn. It feels as if I'm going to lose control and the vehicle is going to flip over. I'm really concerned about how it will handle on twisty snow covered mountain roads, even with the Stabilitrak.

I received on of the first few out of the line and wanted to drive it for a little while before I posted a review. I now have 3,000 miles on it and I must say my wife and I both love it. I keep reading about how underpower it is... well, it is not a Ferrari... if you would like to go from 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds I suggest you buy a sports car. However, if you would like a nice sice SUV that can take you to remote places without a problem and at the same time will still look great when you park it in front of the Hyat. This is the car to get. I still think that any GM or Ford car over $25K is overpriced.

The HUMMER H3 has been quite a truck for me. It is actually my first car and I cannot think of one that I would have better benefitted from. My father raised me with his HUMMER's and so naturally, I had to have one. Overall, I cannot say a bad thing about it. It's just the average offroad dream vehicle.

Despite the complaints about the small engion, the gearing on the thing is brilliant. Living in Colorado I need the power for the mountains, and it has no trouble delivering. It handles like sports car, and rides like the living room couch.

A truely rugged, reliable, and just plain awesome machine. Spectacular off- road capabilities, great fuel economy for a hummer, and nice interior with the lux package.

I gave up the speed of a FX35 for the coolness of the H3 and haven't looked back. I can't believe the attention this car gets. I have had people looking in the windows while I still inside on the phone. The kids in my neighborhood think it ROCKS. I can't keep my wife away from it. Power is the only downside, maybe they will come out with some supercharged upgrade. Then it would be perfect. It's as fun chroming this as it is my Harleys.

We love our canary yellow H3 with luxury package and crome details! Such an eye catcher! Rugged and strong although a little meek when it comes to power! Lots of room, especially for passengers with long legs. Lots of safety features as well. Overall, an awseome value for the price! Too bad no employee incentives on these since they are 2006 models!

Its great!

I have had my eye on the new H3 ever since I heard Hummer was going to make one about one year ago. This vehicle lives up to the hype. Its all the tank that the H1 and H2 are, but more economical. It gets great gas mileage, and fits in my garage. It turning radius and its torque are what impress me most. This is an exceptional off road vehicle....

This is the best Factory offroad vehicle in production next to the Jeep Rubicon. I have the Lux package with the OffRoad option. The aftermartket is sure to jump on the upgrades and everybody can personalize to there own likes. I am 6'1" tall and have no trouble with leg room. The back seat is roomy enough with the drivers seat all the way back for a 5'8" passenger to sit with their knees just touching the back of the seat. GM/Hummer will sell alot of these great Midsized offroad SUV's. The ride is very comfortable on the street and you feel very safe in this vehicle.

We love our Hummer! We can't believe how many looks we get while driving this H3! People actually stop and point and ask us about our Hummer every time we drive it. We're getting about 19 mpg, which is unbelievable given the huge size of this SUV! Our H3 performs great and the turning radius is fantastic. After driving this car, we will never buy anything else! We are now HUMMER collectors!

Handles beautifully in city and freeway driving. Off road it's a dream car. It's a wonderful car to take fishing, hunting or rock hunting. Even with automatic transmission, I get 19 miles per gallon on the freeway.

I just bought my H3, and love it. As a female it fits me perfect and it doesn't hurt that it makes guys turn their heads. Its turning radius was a big shocker after my Land Rover, it is wonderful. Also the gas milage is great and easier on my wallet. I do wish it had a bigger middle console and a litle bit longer trunk. But on the other hand I feel incredibly safe when I ride at night, since in NC there are always deer running out at night where I live. I feel this is by far the best car I have ever had and was well worth the two month wait that I had to endure to get the car of my dreams!!!

This is IT!

Man do we love our hummer and wow you bet you can pack all the groceries you want and even others in it and its drives like a dream. A jeep cannot touch it and in fact nothing else can even come close to it and what else is also great about it is it won't break your bank account like most luxury autos will.

Test drove H3 and as I expected, way underpowered. I am a V8 kind of guy and a truck as heavy as this needs alot more than a 5 cylinder with HP and torque in the low 200's. Will consider purchase when a real engine is put in vehicle.

We just purchased our new 2006 H3 and we absolutely love it! It's a blast to drive. Very plush interior. All of the bells or whistles you could want. Smooth driving, peppy engine and great brakes. Responds well. Great visibility with large side mirrors I think the third time is a charm for the H3. The price is just right. Great for around town comfort. Seating for five. Secure feeling drive. A must have for the offroad enthusiast who loves all of the Hummer qualities. Simple stated, "We love our Hummer" We have always wanted one and now we can afford to have one. Take one out for a test drive and see for yourself!

Just ok......

We ordered the vehicle in Feb 05. After months of anticipation, we finally receievd in June 05. Nice fit and finish. Vehicle runs and drives out ok. However, the 5 cylinder engine is anemic and the vehicle is severely underpowered. In addition, while GM was offering lots of incentives on all other GM vehicles, MSRP was the best we could do on this one. Since the lux-H2 is being offered at $49k with the employee discount/incentives program, it is a much better value for the money.

The H3 is a blast to drive, especially off-road. I've driven it through 2 feet of water and mud and it just kept on chugging. The engine could use a little more power but it is adequate for the H3. The turning radius is unbelievable. The interior is fantastic with plenty of room. The drivers view is excellent. The sunroof is extremely large. The H3 can be a little tricky to get in and out of due to its height so a step-up bar may be necessary. Overall, definitely a 10. Hummer has a winner on its hands.

Sluggish response, quiet interior, good ac, smooth ride and good handling, good visibility - nice height, roomy intertior, plenty of elbow room from driver to passenger side, back seat could use some leg room, decent rear storage, heavy rear door.

Although exciting behind the wheel, great looks and comfort, the biggest disappointment is engine performance. The power lags tremendously and is far less responsive than what would be expected from any HUMMER. This shortfall is impractical for on-road driving conditions (e.g. city traffic) and therefore lessons the H3's appeal.

Having owned a H1 I didn't know what to think about the H3. Now I am convinced it gets the most bang for the buck!!! IT has the looks, the on and off road feel of a very capable SUV. When compared to other HUMMERS it has a remarkably low price. Together with good dealer service this is an unbeatable vehicle.

the 5 cylinder engine is way under powered especialy when passing, this is due in most part to the 4700 lbs that it weighs which is almost as much as a 2wd nissan titan truck 2wd, the interior is very bland, and the abillity to shift between 2 and 4wd is not an option, for its size it feels very top heavy while cornering, this will be a good grocery getter , remember jeep liberty.

I bought my HUMMER H3 this last weekend. When I was at the dealership there were literally not enough H3's in stock to have one for everyone who wanted to buy one. Once you drive the H3, you know why: this HUMMER is BY FAR THE BEST car I have ever driven. I traded in my Mercedes C class and consider my H3 a big step up. It's roomy on the inside, just the way I like it, and its styling is a vast improvement over the somewhat random and seemingly cheap-looking interior of the H2 - this one is definitely a lot more refined. The exterior remains as edgy as I think a HUMMER should be. HUMMERS are not for the faint of heart or for people who like to conform - and that's good. GREAT PRODUCT.

I just bought the first one in MS yesterday. I am a 51 year old woman and I love this vehicle. My grown children are trying to steal it. I was so very surprised at how easy it drove and handled. I could not belive the handling on the highway. It was a much smoother ride than I was expecting. I have driven Cadillacs for years and I actually traded my CTS in on this truck. I am very excited about owning this truck.
