*Honda S2000 (2006)* * *16,783 miles* * *Suzuka Blue Metallic* * *Blue Interior*Honda certainly knows how to build stylish and fun cars! One such vehicle is the Honda S2000: rear-wheel drive, lightweight body, two-seater cabin, convertible top, manual transmission, and a highly revving naturally aspirated engine. Additionally, the car was exceptionally beautiful. The emotions it evoked during driving, its ability to engage the driver, and the precise and transparent nature of its reactions captured the hearts of car enthusiasts worldwide.Unfortunately, finding a virgin S2000 today, without signs of modifications and in excellent condition, is not easy, but we managed to do it! Introducing the Honda S2000 in Suzuka Blue Metallic with a blue interior, in excellent condition like a new car. It's not surprising considering the mileage is only 16,783 miles. A remarkable car that will provide you with an unforgettable driving experience and make an excellent addition to any car collection.

S2000 lives up to its rep--but be realistic

First, I rated this car for what it is--a performance-focused roadster trackable in stock form but intended to be as much fun as you can legally have on the road. So, for instance, when I rate it highly for comfort, I'm not comparing it to a big Merc. It's easy to get in and out of--for a low two-seat roadster. Etc. The car feels solid, and for those of us accustomed to Hondas, the quality is a little different as it's more like absolute quality rather than quality for a price point. These cars were not cheap at all. They were special. They still are. Do be aware that the famous high-revving S2000 engine will likely require more maintenance than, say, your typical Accord engine. Yes, it's a Honda, but it's also a high-performance sports car that revs to either 8200 or 9000 rpm depending on the vintage. Word is coming out of the specialists' shops that '06-'09 models--with the drive-by-wire throttle--have a high incidence of exhaust valves set too tight at the factory, so they are starting to burn and cause check-engine lights to come on. That's probably why my '06 is headed for the specialist's shop for valve work next week. Not a super-scary thing and completely fixable but up to $2K. Also be aware that a 10-year-old soft top will likely need replacing. A nice one is about $1,700. I LOVE my S and would not discourage anyone who can afford one and who wants a truly great sports car for reasonable money to buy one. I would just say that, as with any used sports car, go into it with your eyes open and your budget realistic. Check the forum boards for any car you're really interested in to find out what common issues are and what's involved in correcting them. As far as all the glowing reviews of the S2000 you can find online go, they're all true. After 16 mos with ours, all I want is many more years with my little red jewel.

This is my 2nd review here after 1+ year of driving

Now have almost 47k miles and car runs like a champ. Easy and cheap to do all maintenance, found out since this is a high performance car in needs valves adjusted every 30k or so. Haven't had any problems with car. Gets decent MPG for a high performance high rev engine.

I couldn't give this car less then 4.....

My previous cars: e46 M3, e92 335i, B7 A4, and a few Maximas. S2000 is super fun, simple yet nice design, engine is work of art, fun factor compared to my previous M3. Now the bad: should be at least 0.5 seconds faster, NOT as reliable as I thought...I have 33k miles and check engine light for multiple misfires (common on S2k) all 4 coil packs were cracked ($650 job at dealer w/ diagnostics), at 33k miles car already needed valve adjustment ($340 at dealer w/seal and diagnostics)....and I heard that injectors on this car can also fail soon.....remember my car has had ALL maintenance and was never raced on track. Kind of disappointed since I bought this car for "Honda reliability"

I recently returned from the coast in my pre-own certified 2006 S2000. What a blast! The car is nimble yet responsive with cat quick handling. Surprisingly my wife and I was able to transport enough luggage and supplies for the weekend trip with space left over. XM radio reception was fine, but it's nothing like the whine of the engine against the redwoods, tight curves and straightaways. The 4-cylinder V-Tech is an absolute monster that leaves me longing for an excuse to head to the coast again. Although I am tall I had no problem with the comfort. In fact the only complaints are tired facial muscles from grinning like a 2-year old, and a sun burn from refusing to let the top up!

I remember seeing this car when it debuted at the auto show in 1999 and said I'm getting that. I bought the car new, and after 2 and a half years and 25k miles it's still like new. The car handles like a dream, I've driven it on the track and the "Tail of the Dragon" and it never ceases to amaze me. For Jim the previous review, the brakes do not fade if you upgrade the brake fluid to a high temp fluid. I rarely have the stereo on, and the gas mileage when looking at the car's performance and motor, it's to be expected. Buy a civic if those bother you. The car definitely followed where the s800 left off.

How much do you need to love a car to give her a name? We recently bought a red '06 with only 8K miles on her. We are a family of Hondas - when my spouse bought her CRV in 2005 I sat in a s2000 in the showroom and said "hey babe I'm gonna buy you one of these" I knew that one would end up in the garage eventually. All my Honda experiences have been excellent, 2 Civics, said CRV, and now the S2K. What a car! It just DARES you to drive it. The gearbox is butter, the sound is magnificent, the interior is Honda simple, the seats are comfy. Styling is understated, but menacing in an anime sort of way. Mash the throttle in second, spool her up to 7K rpm and hold on! Turbos are for whimps, baby!

Best driving experience...

S2000 is almost 10 year old now; and still; I would not change it with a brand new Z4, Miata, Solstice, Sky and even a Boxster. Unlike most cars, S2000 is a purpose built driving machine. Engine, transmission, and chassis is not shared by any other model. Engine is small, light and powerful. Best manual transmission available in ANY car: short, precise, excellent feel. Chassis is so stiff, the rear tire was also raised when I was jacking up the front! The engine is located completely behind the front axles, and the rear is a tad heavier than the front. The steering response is unreal; immediate response to any steering input. S2000 is designed to give you the utmost driving satisfaction...

If you love the driving experience, this is the car to buy. I wouldn't advise anyone to buy it for comfort or the sound system. Honda threw in some nice leather seats and a stereo for people like me who drive it to work everyday. I just wish I could get to the curves more and mute the stereo and listen to the engine. It's an amazing little car.

Disclaimer: I've owned this car 3 weeks. I have yet to find a comfortable seating position. My lower back has been suffering. Compared to my clk55 cabriolet, I thought my Cooper works was unreasonably noisy. That is, until I got the s2k. At freeway speeds, I can barely hear the radio even with the volume set past 50%. And although the engine is a jewel, I was spoiled by the 387 foot pounds delivered by the 5.5L AMG V-8. I've also been spoiled by the rain-sensing wipers and autodimming rearview mirrors, and wish that these would be available in the S2K. That said, it's the best handling most satisfying car I've ever had. I wish I could drive it topless all the time.

Guys, buy one before you get married.

This two-seat roadster fits like a glove, and it makes a mere trip to the grocery store exciting. Recaro seats hold passengers in firm comfort, and the dash board mounted controls are all a finger touch away from the racing inspired steering wheel. Performance suspension/steering and 17" low profile tires provide plenty of feedback from the road, and it corners like it's on rails. Acceleration and braking are superb. Gas mileage is fantastic for a performance car and it of course is built with the legendary Honda reliability. Overall, the blend of styling, performance, and fuel efficiency cannot be beat for the money. Like the title says, guys, buy one BEFORE you get married!

I must say that I am a die hard sport bike guy, and was skeptical that a car would be able to give me the thrill of 15,000 rpm. However, Honda's S2000 fits this bill surprisingly well. It is undoubtedly the closest thing to a motorcycle with four wheels. I considered [briefly] Mazda's Miata (anemic power), Porsche's Boxter S (ridiculous price) and the Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky (no 6 speed tranny), and decided the "S" was the car for me. With its short wheelbase, the car feels a little twitchy at the limit, almost as if it will break into uncontrolled oversteer. However, the Automatic Stability Control will bail you out should you get in over your head.

I have never had more "fun" in any car I have ever driven. I had a MG-B in my late teens, and I loved the car but hated all the issues. This is my MG that runs. Have a rough day at work? Just go out, hop in and drop the top. Even if it is to only go to Starbucks for a brief break, it will put a smile on your face. When I do get out of town, get a little back road thing happening, it's a go-cart on steroids. It handles like my Ducati motorcycle, just with 4 wheels. I can honestly say, when it comes to the bang-for-bucks ratio, I have never been more pleased with a car purchase.

If you are after a true roadster, then this "is" the car. I have owned it now for two years, and each time I get in it, it's as if it was the very first test drive of the car, never loses the excitement. For a roadster, this car is very comfortable, tightly put together, and perfect handling and response. I really get on it on the curves, and have still yet to find it's limit, thank God. The rigidity for a convertible is amazing. You want Fun, drop the top and find some curves.

I have owned this vehicle for 2 years and there has not been a day when my daily driver hasn't caused a broad smile on my face. And then there is the grin caused by a winding mountain road. Priceless. The engine is a little miracle: sedate if you like, or an angry little monster if you punch it. Undoubtedly the best manual transmission around. The handling is fantastic. The pedals are perfectly placed (heel-toes all day long). The soft top is the fastest and simplest around. Totally reliable. Totally Honda. A perfect auto enthusiast's car. No good if you are looking for creature comforts.

I had an '05 S2000 and loved it. Had to sell it when we dropped down to a 2- vehicle household and vowed that it would be replaced by another ASAP. I picked up a 2006 with 3800 miles on it and life is good (again). I looked at Boxsters, Z-4's, SLK's (I do not consider the MX-5 to be in the same class) and still could not come up with a valid, logical reason to buy any of them. For the money, this is simply the BEST roadster out there. The drivetrain is as close to perfection as one can get. It handles great and is as solid as if it were milled from a piece of billet. If you are of average stature this car is very livable as a daily driver and is quite comfortable on extended road trips.

My everyday driver is a Subaru Forester XT with stick shift, and would be hard to beat. Wanted a hi-revving, quick-handling Japanese bike for casual fun, but a bum knee precluded that. Figured adding 4 wheels and weather protection for rainy Portland couldn't hurt. Shopped Boxters, Z4s, TTs & Miatas, but they're all too effete. S2000 is the real deal... simply beautiful, with clean, taut lines; thrilling power when you turn up the revs, with matching sound track; impeccable handling; modest weight; smooth, powerful brakes; great perforated-leather seats; driver-centric instrumentation, Honda's famous quality and reliability. Track-ready. No options to buy... it's all standard equipment.

This car is not for everyone. Yes, you do have to do a little work in order to work the gears, but there is nothing cuter on the road, nor anything comparable in terms of engineering and horsepower. This car totally rocks! Fast, fun, and is very comfortable. Slot car indeed, and the looks of a very detailed automobile. Honda - they know what they are doing!

The S2k is one of the most cars for your money available today. The 4 cylinders punch out only a few horses less the the Porsche boxter. Those idiots who say "it needs a v6 or a v8" are not true car enthusiasts or knowledgeable in the field of roadsters. The 4 cylinders in the S2k outperform the Maybach V6 in the Eclipse and the same for the RX-8. This is a great car!

My commute in the D.C. area would be depressing if it wasn't for this car. Instead, I smile and look forward to driving every morning and evening. Bought an expensive snow tire/wheel set to commute and drove through light snow with no problems. The hardtop is great in the winter and enhances the rear view. There is much written about not taking this car on long trips, but we much prefer this car over our other more comfortable cars because it is so much more fun! We took long trips to Canada, Connecticut, and Georgia. We are in our late 50s but may not be entirely average as we are used to touring on motorcycles. As my wife said, this is so much more comfortable.

A car with great gas mileage, today that is probably the most important thing with gas near and over $3 a gallon. Style, everyone wants a stylish car. This one is not only stylish but stunningly beautiful, a designers dream. People literally fall over themselves ogling this car, people love this car. Handling and safety. This car could be the definition for handling which promotes safety even at high rates of speed which brings me to performance! Now everyone just admit it, we all want to drive race cars. I do wish the redline was 9000 rpm, but that is my only complaint about this amazing car. The car still will get a second look from people, wondering if it is an expensive German or Italian car. Vehicle handling is superb. It's engine hums so effortlessly and is ready to pounce immediately when thrown in the right gear. The shifting is very precise and the pedals are placed in the right positions for heel-toe action. The pedals aren't heavy and cumbersome, but light enough for my wife to use. The guages are large and easy to read with all pertinent info available. When driven lightly, its a fuel miser. Maintenance is 'Honda- esque'. Its trunk is large enough for a weekend out with my wife. The VSD saved me from curb rashes on several occassions when carelessly turning on web pavement!

My S2K is a daily driver, and I find it to be the perfect combination of exceptional acceleration/handling, while still returning good fuel mileage. And unlike so many sports cars that have come and gone, it is reliable as a hammer. You will not find another manual shift up to this quality, steering is quick and perfectly weighted, the brakes are faultless, the body structure very rigid. Cautions: if you drive very aggressively, be careful of snap- oversteer. This series is better than the original, but it can still punish the ham-handed. Ride is firm. While having more driveable power/torque band than 1st S2K's, best performance still requires keeping the engine in the correct rev range.

I wanted a true sports car that I would be excited about driving for the next decade, and the S2000 is a perfect choice: a driver's car in performance without sacrificing comfort, features, quality, reliability or my financial future. It definitely draws the right kind of attention. Great driveability in traffic as well as on twisty roads where one can wind it out. Excellent build quality and, consequently, a low cost for extending full warranty coverage to seven years. Finally, there's also a great community of S2K car clubs with enthusiasts into tuning, track days or social outings and drives. An ownership experience bar none.

Not for the die hard, but for the true.

I was in the market for a Porsche Cayman or an exotic that was good as a everyday driver if needed. I somehow always wound up on a search path on the S2000 in forums. All I heard was good, but honestly the internet pics did the S2000 no justice. I decided to go see it in person at a Honda dealership. I was in the market for no nonsense sports car, structurally tight, no rattles, and had a very good dependable engine. When I test drove the car, it was the right fit. For the same price you can buy some others, but this car fit me for what I wanted. I don't like clutter. I like efficient, practical equipment on my cars that is sporty.

About the only thing on the car that anyone can complain about is storage space. When moving from another vehicle to this one, the trunk space and interior cabin storage space seems minuscule, but after owning it for a while, you get used to it and it doesn't seem nearly as small. You won't be moving any large boxes, but it'll do for most road trips

I had been dying to get an S2000 since they came out. I have had mine for 6 months and am trading it in. It keeps blowing the radio/cell phone charger fuse, which I find REALLY disappointing in a Honda. It IS fun to drive...for about 10 minutes. The ride is stiff, the mileage is horrible for a 4-cyl, about 21 mpg (hwy) and it definitely isn't as fast as I thought it would be for a 240 hp. I hate to be so negative, but I am really disappointed in not only the car, but the Honda brand. I had a Civic for 7 years and was delighted with it. Two thumbs down for the S2k. If you're considering the S2000, test drive the BMW Z series first...I wish I would have.

The Honda S2000 has been my favorite car that I have owned. I have had sports cars in the past, but none have been so rewarding as the S2000. Around town it does great on fuel economy with a combined 24 mpg! The engine is nice below 6000 rpms, but above that it is mean and it comes to life! An animal if you will. It has the best gearbox in the world, flick the shifter with your finger. Its like cutting warm butter with a knife, it is so precise! Handles the hell of the road! My Corvette felt so bulky and the shifter heavy. It was an okay car, but I heard about the S2000 from a friend and Im so glad I purchased it! Very rewarding car that wants you to revv the heck outta it! BUY IT!

This car is a work of art. Performance and handling is at its best, gear box is superb, and the gas mileage is much better than expected (averages around 27 mpg). Best bang for the buck. Car is noisy but no more than any of the other roadsters I've driven. Every day street driving is fine but will show plenty of muscle. No problems to date and with Honda's quality reputation, I don't expect any issues. Interior layout is not fancy but very simple yet more than adequate...it is perfect for a roadster. Although small, trunk space is much more functional than other competitors. Fits two sets of golf clubs. Anyone considering a Roadster around $30K or less should take a hard look at the S2K.

Having owned 7 cars in the past 10 years, including a Lexus, a BMW, an Infinity, and an assortment of others, THIS is the car I've been looking for! I thought I was looking for luxury, but what I REALLY was looking for was the purity of performance in a great looking convertible! I tested the BMW Z4 and the Nissan 350z, but they paled in comparision, especially if you consider price in the equation. I've never felt this "connected" to a car. As you slide into the cockpit, you become one. Every aspect involves you. I don't miss the bells and whistles. In fact, their absence makes me enjoy this car even more! My advice? Take one for a test drive before you buy ANY other sports car!

Leased S2000 after five years driving pickup, and wanted a "fun" car. Well, this car is all the fun one could ask for! Performance, handling, quality, "fun," it doesn't get any better. Being blessed with a "larger" frame, once buckled in, you get the true sensation of being part of the car. Gearbox is one of the smoothest I've ever experienced. Short and percise throws and this car "sticks" to the road. At 6200 rpm's you wake up the 240 horses and experience a whole new life! Been averaging 25-26 mpg around town. '06 is the last year for the S2000... might just decide to hang onto this one! Now go find yourself a Mustang and have some "fun!"

I never imagined one would 'fall in love' with a car...I traded in my 2003 350z auto for the honda...I will never own another automatic...that plus the higher refinement of the makes it a dream come true to drive and much more pleasurable than any car I have owned in the past. The interior noise or 'harshness' is a plus to me...its just all part of an experience that goes beyond a 'normal' commuter car....and yes, this car can certainly be used for an everyday car...thats what mine is and it is as reliable as any other honda, which means very reliable.... The minimal design with no fluff is also very nice...why does one need 1000 buttons to push in a car....

Absolutely SUPERB! Light weight; more than enough power - VTEC, gotta love it!; super 6 speed gearbox (rowing thru the gears - great stuff, especially in VTEC mode!); excellent throttle response and control; precise, quick steering; cornering grip is awe inspiring; excellent brakes!; stiff chassis with a superbly tuned suspension; engine/exhaust sound is addictive. No doubt, this is Honda's race car for the road. Truly, a great, fun sports car, embodying the idea of the sports car from years gone past with today's engineering. With less than 10,000 hand built S2000s a year, buy another Honda car just to thank Honda for making the S2000. I did! One does need to break trips into hourly stages, to get out and stretch. And to grin the S2000 grin.

I have only owned this car for a month, but am pleasantly surprised by the way it handles. Not being a "speed freak", I haven't come close to "red lining". The only knocks I have is it lacks comfort on a long trip (+150 miles). Also, Honda could have done a better job of 6th gear. I wish it could have been more of an overdrive than just another gear. Power to spare. Economy is better than advertised. 30+ on highway - only to get better after breakin period.

Years ago I owned a 1976 Triumph tr6 and I really missed that car. It was a true classic. This is a modern day tr6 classic. The dimensions are identical with the exception that the s2k is 10 inches wider. The car is world class. The 6 speed transmission is the best that I,ve ever experienced. It corners incredibly. The car is very civil below six grand. Above it and the excitement begins. The vtec kits in and you are a happy camper. The high reving motor sounds great. A great driving experience at a fraction of the cost of owning a Porsche boxter, Z4,or even the 350z. What a bargain. This car turns as many heads as the more expensive brands.

I bought this car to replace my 1999 M3. Haven't looked back. The car can play nice little roadster and the sporty feeling stays hidden if you keep it under 6k rpms. But when you see the curve up ahead an you hit 6k rpms, no more nice little honda, the sound becomes better than anything else youve heard, you turn in sharp and the car sticks like super glue. The S2000 can beat the boxsters in the turns if you're a good driver. This car feels so willing to turn in an accel. The interior is perfect, everything is in the right spot, the transmission is the best I've ever driven with. The digital dash is very driver oriented. Honda somehow made a great car, even better. Not too many cars can compare.

This car is exactly what it is supposed to be, a performance roadster to the utmost. Honda didn't try to appeal to everybody with this car, just the serious minded drivers. The seats are perfect, the sound of the engine perfect, V-Tech perfect. I tested a Boxster S, and a new MX-5 before I drove the S2000, and I don't know who would pay twice the price to get a Boxster when you could have a better car with the S2000. The Mazda just can't touch it, and I used to own a Miata. Rigidity, is amazing for a rag top. This car is just flat out fun to drive. I had to buy one before they stop making them. This is the most fun since I had my Triumph Spitfire back in the sixties. Thank you Honda.

I had 00 celica GTS 6spd that I sold and bought a 04 IS300 because I thought I was getting older (28). After driving the IS for 2 yrs I realzied how much I missed a true sports car. The IS was fun to drive but too quiet for me. I've always favored high revving 4 cylinders over displacement. There's something about a high revving motor that lives out your F1 fantasies which the S2k does to perfection. The seating position, the dash and every button is angled to the driver and no one else. As to say we don't want you to think too much when it comes to adjusting the volume of the radio because we want your hands at 9 and 3 and your undivided attention to the road ahead.

My Red S-2000 is my retirement present to myself. This will be the 10th Honda Car I have owned, and each one was an improvement over the previous. However, the S-2000 is unlike any Honda I have owned except my vintage 1970 CB750 Four Motorcycle Finally a Honda that draws upon is racing heritage. Around town it's a fun well mannered car but it's meant for two lane black top. At 6,000 RPM the 2.2 Vetc really kicks in and the close ratio 6 speed keeps it on cam through all the gears. The first time I red lined S-2000 through the gears I learnd is not just a pretty Boulevard cruiser it is an all out performance machine. One word of warning with the top up you have lots of a blind spots.

The designers and engineers at Honda just seem to have considered and optimized every detail. The car is responsive as a go-cart and there's nothing short of installing a supercharger that can improve it's acceleration. It's styling is understated but aggressive and it doesn't try to look like a bat-mobile. Getting in the car is like putting on a glove. You almost wear the car instead of sit in it. But still it feels spacious and open unlike a Boxter that I had. I have the Rio Spa Yellow metalic color and the car seems to turn heads and elicit kudos even when next to much more expensive models and name plates. Just walking up to my car puts a goofy grin on my face. This car is drives me!

There is unique feeling of being at one with the car. The overall driving experience is exhilirating. Interior design is excellent, and the seating position is perfect. The car is noisy on the highway, but the ride quality is suprisingly comfortable for a sports car. If you don't need room for more than one passenger and you don't carry much cargo, it's an acceptable daily driver. The quality of the craftsmnship is excellent. Dropping the hood sounds like closing a fine briefcase. The 237 hp engine zips effortlessly up the steepest hills and it hugs the road making the drive pure joy. The stick shift is quick and smooth. The interior is snug and you feel the road but who wouldn't want that in a sports car? If I wanted a pillow ride I would have bought a Lincoln town car (and a chauffeur).

It's styling first attracted me. However, its performance was the clincher. I don't drive to listen to music, I wanted a real sports car with 6 on the floor, a solid feel and speed on the freeways when I need it. And it's highly steerable with the brakes locked. The ABS is impressive. It also turned out that the trunk is large enough to hold two weeks of groceries.

When I first got it I noticed that it was very fuel efficient, light already so it didn't take much to move it, and it drove quick for a 2.2 liter. I was very familiar with the s2000 before because I build and race cars. I own a 527 hp 02 wrx, and the honda is my second race car. My honda has tons of potental to produce extreme amounts of horsepower without a turbo or supercharger, It handles great on the track, mountains, canyons, and streets. Very effecient as far as delivering the power to the ground because it's so solid and light. Speaking from experience this is the best performance roadster under 60 k.

The near perfect interior is intuitively designed like a cockpit around the driver. All car interiors should be designed like this one! This is definitely an automobile for people that have fun and love to drive!

Having the money to pick from many cars did not stop me from buying this Honda. It's small, a little noisy, lacks some torque but it's a gas to drive. Convertible is the only way it comes. It's not really my daily driver but the sun shines and the mountain and coastal roads beckon I know I'm going to have a great time.

With its few creature comforts and emphasis on the driving experience, the S2000 is probably the last of the modern "pure" sports cars. This is a car that is light and tossable like a Miata, but large enough to live with. Its as fast as the more expensive alternatives like the Porsche Boxster, but comes with Honda reliability and a smaller price tag. For me, it came down to the S and the Boxster, bat after driving the two, the S's light, effortless abilities won me over. Truly a great car that you just don't see everywhere.

What a car! It handles unlike anything I have ever driven. The high RPMs didn't freak me out because I had spent the morning driving Porsches so I was used to it. Kicking it into 6th gear is like launching yourself down the freeway - get a radar detector the day you buy it! This thing has road glue - takes hard turns like a go cart - as fun as a motorcycle but much safer and more practical. And it really turns heads! The hard top is great for noise & theft reduction.

I traded my Harley in because its safer in S. FL in a car. I don't miss my bike at all. Truely a great ride, it corners like it is on rails. Yes I have to side with anther reviewer, be careful of that low front bumper when parking in a lot with stops in the stalls. Overall it is an excellent car for a fun ride!

this is by far the best car I've ever owned! It just emulates cool. Whenever I take it out, people stare and compare. It's not a race car, just one of the best valued sports cars on the market. Honda has done it right. The drive by fly on the 2006 make me feel good that I got the last year (2005) they car was still in it's original format.

I just picked up my 2006 S2000 four days ago and I finally just now pried myself out of it. It absolutely fits the bill for what I was looking for. Really fast, fun, ergonomic interior designed to keep your hands on the wheel. Driving it is more fun than should be legal. No doubt about the cars racing heritage. If you want a "Lexus ride" this is not the car for you. IT'S A SPORTS CAR. Everything you have already read in all the magazines is true. Razor sharp stearing, great high RPM performance, improved lower RPM performance. Definately comfortable enough for a daily driver. Unfortunately I won't be driving it daily but I would love to.

The S-2000 is a great looking car with lots of zip. This is my first sports car and I am delighted with the purchase. My first fill-up revealed 25 mpg combined highway and around town with much not-so-economical accelerator on my part. A caution: watch that low front bumper when parking.

I have a 911 c2 cab and I have to admit the s2000 is more fun to drive. The porsche is somewhat more comfortable but I feel the handling and the shifting in the s2000 is better. Dont get me wrong I love my porsche but for the money and styling the s2000 is the better deal. A porsche has status and and lets face it it has great manners and heritage, but the s2000 handles just as well and is really fun to drive. I feel more connected with this car than the porsche. Maybe because it is smaller and lower to the ground and because the shifter has shorter throws. Overall glad I bought this car and will own it for many years to come.

Love my red S-2000. Great engine and 6 speed trans. Turns heads! Got a high of 28.4 MPG. Firm seats and precise ride.
