I've had my Honda CRV for over 10 years. I refuse to get a new car because there isn't anything wrong with it! I finally gave it a 10 year birthday present with a tune up, radiator flush, etc. when it hit 100,000 miles. I have had to get new brakes, struts and tires, but no major mechanical problems with it in the past 10 years. It goes in for oil changes but not much else. I will keep it until it literally falls apart. Its been and is a great car. Because its an older model, I don't have navigation tools or satellite radio, which would be nice. (but it does have a cassette player!!) I'm curious to see how many miles it will have when I do decide to trade it in on a new CRV - probably in 20 years! I have heard people say that CRVs have poor sound insulation, but its not much different than other cars from what I have observed.

Love my CRV

I own a 2006 Honda CR-V with 180,000 miles on it. So far it has been a reliable car with a lot of headaches. First off my model had the faulty airbag that, if set off could send bits of shrapnel into your neck and face causing severe injury or death. Got the recall about a year ago in 2015 and I have been driving this car for almost 10 years. So right off the bat safety wise is a no go. Thank God I did not get into an accident that would have set the airbag off. If your interested in this car MAKE sure the one you are buying has had the airbag replaced at the dealership. I say reliable as in you can drive this car into the dirt and it will still keep on driving. That's the only thing I like about this car after many years of driving it. Right from the start it had road noise, needed a new starter (still have starter issues), and after 15,000 miles I already had warped rotors. Now at 180,000 miles my rotors warped again and I have had wobbles and jitters throughout the coarse of owning this car. The fuel pump had to be replaced 3 times over the course of my ownership. I keep having to replace the headlights every 4 to 6 months as they burn out really fast. As an SUV type of car handling around corners isn't really great as you feel like you are going to tip over so you have to slow down. I don't drive recklessly; I drive carefully. Maybe I just got a lemon but if you don't want a car that will cause you headaches constantly don't get it. If you are willing to spend the money on replacing parts and having them go out 4 months later go ahead. Again the only thing I like about this car is that reliably; you can drive it in the dirt and keep on driving but in a car reliable to me is having a car that will drive and maintenance is a breeze. Overall it's been a great car to have to run into the dirt (MPG not that great for a 4 cylinder) but I'm tired of continuously spending money on problems that keep surfacing and I know the CR-V is tired as well. So I'm finally selling it and getting another car. Brand new I should have bought another car, but I drove this CR-V with constant problems. Again maybe I got a lemon. The end? I'm never buying another Honda; lesson learned. I mean my girlfriend's dad's 2005 Chevy 1,500 has not had as many problems as my car has and he has spent significantly less in repairs and maintenance over the years of owning that truck.

I drive the Honda LX trim level. 152500 miles and the only none scheduled repair was replacing the blower motor which was 5000 miles ago. Reliable, dependable and good economy car , gas mileage 22-26 or so with AWD. Got the car new. I am 6 ft 2 in tall and 300 lbs + and I am very comfortable driving and riding in this car. Plenty of head space and easy to get in and out of. My wife is around 5 ft and she can easily adjust seat for her. If anything there is some road noice especially when comparing with newer 2015 model cars and the stereo is not the best but it works fine. Great winter car as well (Chicago area Michelin hydroedge tires). Comfortable seats, good visibility.

Almost 100,000 and still going good

I'm at 90,000 miles and haven't really had any major problems with the vehicle. Only thing I've had to replace is my tires. The only unscheduled issues I've had is problems with the truck's trim. It is a little cheap and not secured very well. A piece of the windshield trim flew off and I have a few other pieces of trim that are coming loose. That's not too big of a deal though. It's a nice family suv, it's very reliable and easy to work on. The pull-out table in the trunk is a nice little added feature also. I do recommend getting better tires if you want to take full advantage of the AWD. I definitely recommend this vehicle though.

Still going strong!

I had a PTTR (pull to the right) problem when I first got it - brand new. Dealer agreed to fix it after a few trips. Make sure you're driving the actual car you're going to buy - when you're buying a brand new car. ABS & VSA lights came on around 110K miles. Dealer asked $2000 to fix! These being said it's a reliable car. I would buy it again.

I bought this car used in July of 2011. It had one previous owner and 130,000 miles. Since I've bought it I have put just over 10,000 miles on it. I have so much fun driving it. My sister drove it once and loved it too. Its very spacious. It is a little noisy but that just gives me a reason to turn the music up louder. Its great for roadtrips and just back and forth to school and work. I will drive this into the ground and then will probably buy a Pilot instead of another CR-V because I don't like that the newer model's backends open up instead of out to the side plus I like the extra room.

A reliable, durable pleasure!

I've thoroughly enjoyed this tough little SUV!! From Sept. 2005 thrul March 2012 I've put about 70,000 miles on my EX automatic transmission, city driving about 3/4 of the time. It's agile (fantastic turn circumference & good get-up-and-go for hwy on-ramps), comfortable & roomy (great passenger & cargo space! Car seat plus 2 adults fit in back), & has cheerfully handled our over-loaded vacation road trips. I've not had to put a dime into my CR-V except for scheduled maintenance & to (rarely) replace "disposables" like a bulb or tires. Not luxurious but quite comfortable. Road noise is annoyingly pronounced (get with it, Honda!!), but otherwise, this attractive workhorse has been a pure joy!

My Honda saved my life!! Thank you Honda!

I was in a horrible accident last night - an ambulance slammed into me while I was sitting at an exit ramp from the highway. I must have been hit about 70 miles an hour and there was nowhere for me to go. My CRV is totaled and my face hit something -- I'm guessing the steering wheel -- and I broke my nose. And that was it. I went to see the car at the impound lot today and I truly believe Honda saved my life. The car accordioned in everywhere but stopped before any damage could occur to the back row of seats or the front row of seats. The seating area is completely intact!! I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this car's safety.

I researched for months on the best car for my 16 year old. Hands down, this was the best one in regards to safety, quality and even looks. My daughter is short and has a commanding view of the road. We got the EX with black bumpers because she is sure to bump something here and there and with no paint to scuff off it will stay looking nice:-). Not one rattle. My GMC sounds like parts are going to fall off when I hit a pothole, the CRV is rock solid. Yes, it does have more road noise than some others, but not that much. We came down to the Rav4 and this. This was a better choice, although Toyota would have been a very close second. The Honda just "feels" better if you know what I mean.

I currently have over 116k on my cr-v if you want high maintenance costs, buy it. Example: 18 months battery replaced. 40k new brakes; 35k new tires. Change spark plugs every 30k. Driver side window cable broke 3 weeks ago. 40k transmission shutters at low speeds 5 trips to different dealers. Finally, problem is diagnosed. Now waiting for last 5 hours to find out if extended warranty will cover repairs. I bought this cute little lemon new. Had a corolla and drove it for 180k for 12 years, once I had to change the alternator, brakes 85k front 110 rears. Also have a Highlander with 95k that gets better gas mileage than this car, I will never buy another Honda.

Agree with others in saying that overall this small SUV (that feels and is pretty roomy) was very dependable and easy to drive. Mileage was typical - 21 - 26 mpg around town. It had enough engine power. Had it less than a year due to being rear ended by a heavy commercial truck that didn't brake, it just hit. CR-V was totaled. Bad thing, yes. Good thing, we lived. Not much you can say after that...Glad to be here. I have friends who own CR-Vs from 2005 through 2009 and they all love their particular year models. One friend has two CR-Vs in the family, a 2008 and 2009.

Cons: Within the 1st 6 months, I had to return it to the dealer to fix the ball bearings? in the back of the car. It came loose, I was told. Paint job is crappy and I got it detailed 2 months after buying it - to try to protect it's color. I basically hwy drive. To keep the gas needle from jumping, I use cruise control ALL the time. Even as low as 30 mph. Driving at 25 mph on certain roads will use more gas. Within 2 yrs, it lost its pick up when accelerating. It hesitates when changing gears.

After reading some other reviews, I expected to like the 2006 CR-V less than the 1999 CR-V we have owned for years. Since a manual transmission is a MUST for my wife and I, the SUV market has become increasingly limited. 2006 was the last year for 5 Speed Manual transmission on the Honda CR-V, so when we finally found a used one with the manual transmission, we bought it. I am pleasantly surprised that we both like our 2006 even more than the 1999! The 2006 feels bigger, feels even more solid and substantial, and is more powerful than our 1999. At the same time, our gas mileage is 26-28 mpg in normal mixed driving, just the same as with our 1999.

We have put 130,000 miles on this CR-V with no problems whatsoever. Handles great and nice to drive. A v6 is unnecessary, this vehicle has all the power we need. MPG changes considerably if driving into the wind. We've made as little as 20 and as much as 50 (with a gale tale wind), but it averages 27-28 most of the time on the highway.

Overall, this has been a nice little SUV. The paint quality is sub par; it seems like new scratches appear every day. Also, for an I-4 engine powering a Civic platform, I expected better gas mileage than what I get, which is usually about 20 around town and never better than 23-25 on the highway. Other than that, it drives well, it's comfortable, it carries everything we need it to carry, and it is reliable. This is one we plan to keep until it is "driven into the ground."

We would have enjoyed the car more if Honda owners didn't hype the brand. The paint was a mess from new. All four seat belts hang onto the ground after a year. Rear differential makes car shudder in turns. Transmission clunks from first to second and back again. Uncomfortable seats and fabric. Shudders on acceleration. Very expensive brakes. Takes forever to get in to dealer, they must be fixing somebody's Honda. Having said all that, the car was pretty good. I'd consider another but you shouldn't buy the hype. It's a car, they break. I'd love to sit down with every person who said, "Buy a Toyota/Honda, you'll never have a another problem. Ridiculous thing to say.

This car needs less than a 4/10 rating for "quietness". When you drive down the highway, you expect to be able to still hear your passengers talking. Instead, you have to yell to have a conversation. Forget about being able to listen to music while driving on the highway. Frequent rest stops are needed on travels because the seats are so uncomfortable. This is not a vehicle meant for hwy driving, that's for sure.

My 16 year old son totaled my Honda this weekend when he fell asleep driving. From the look of the car, it would seem that no one could have walked away from the crash. It was totally pushed in in front and then rolled 2 times. The car saved his life. The safety features worked exactly as they were supposed to and he came away with only bruises from the seat belt and an abrasion on his hand from the air bag deployment. I am totally convinced that the CRV deserves the accolades it gets for safety!

The car is very dependable and has good power. However there are three points that are very bothersome. First, the paint is of pour quality and the exterior of my car is looking bad. I think I can scratch the paint job up with just my fingernail. Second, the car has a lot of road noise. Thirdly, the gas mileage was not as it stated on the sticker (23/29) when I bought it. I have never had better than 26 hwy and around the city i average 18 to 19 mpg.

I have no mechanical problems at all with this car. The gas mileage is 26 on the hwy which should be better. The seats are very hard, had to buy a gel seat to sit on. It handles OK but in the wind it gets moved around some. Also, it is loud from road noise. My black paint is like cheap nail polish. But I am sure I will drive this over 200,000 and have no problems.

It is soo LOUD, no sound proofing at all. Suspension is very stiff, almost the feeling of riding a buggy...my 3 yo can't even fall asleep, that's how loud and rough ride is. GAS mileage is bad too, averaging 22-23 on normal driving conditions. Car is too heavy for 4 cyl and drag factor is too high. My other Buick Regal is averaging 22mpg and comfort is stellar. Bought it almost new (12K mi) but I sold it in a year because it was very uncomfortable and LOUD, esp. with a little one inside. You feel every little irregularity in the pavement, struts are like filled with steel bars not gas, road noise and engine noise are impressively high. Don't trust the word of mouth. I'm very disappointed.

Leased the car for my wife in 2006, no brainer decision to buy out the lease at present. The car has been perfect for the wife and small child as a daily driver and well suited for extended family drives/vacations. Sight lines are excellent, functionality is superb with the exception of the hinged back gate - would prefer an overhead rear door. Peppy enough to be fun and strong enough (AWD) for Philadelphia snow. Mileage is disappointing - Accords with the same engine get much better mileage - we've yet to break the 28MPG barrier on the hwy. 6-disc player and sound system is high quality. Reclining rear seats are nice. Overall this is a high value, very functional, simple car.

The handling is magnificent. Instant response on turning and when the cruise control is on the precise speed at which the car is maintained in any terrain. The CR-V allows me to feel in exact control of all of the controls I need to feel safe and comfortable while driving. This vehicle is extremely quiet and gives me the feeling of a relaxed and tranquil environment. I will forever be a Honda owner.

Overall the 2006 CR-V is a wonderful SUV, viewpoints very similar to all that have been said previously. Fuel economy could be better, I fill up sometimes 2 times per week, but the gas prices don't help either. I love the gated rear as opposed to my RX300 I "wrecked" last year..the CR-V was the replacement. The SUV is a little boring, miss my electric everything I will say. Radio is average, road noise is loud, comfort not bad.

I have had this car for exactly 3 years and 69000 miles. It's used for around town and many extended rides of up to 3 to 6 hours each way (the distance to our daughters' colleges). No problems. Handling surprisingly good, better than RX300 we had. Interior is huge, cargo space deceptively large. Perfect back for Golden Retrievers. Fabulous visibility. Very good in bad weather. However, road noise becomes tiresome after an hour. Sound system is just adequate. And my 57 yr old rear end gets sore on long rides (I'm 5'8" and 143lb). If you're going to spend lots of time on commutes or long drives, treat yourself to something more luxo. But for around town and near, it can't be beat.

Fortunately I have a short commute to work, but it is tiresome to travel long distances because of the pounding you take from road anomalies. Fair amount of road noise as well. The car handles well on straight highways but feels precarious on curves.

This is such a reliable vehicle. I decided to purchase the 2006 to avoid getting stuck with a 2007 (thought the new body design was kinda ugly). I typically put 15-20K miles per year on this vehicle and it has held up wonderfully. I love my CR-V.

I love this car! I have 2 toddlers that go everywhere with me and a home party business that requires me to tote supplies. This car is perfect for both. Very easy to load and unload. Even good for trips to the local home improvement store. We live in the burbs and I do mostly city/burb driving. I avg 24 mpg (maybe because it is a manual tranny?). We just took it on our first long road trip (1000 miles each way in the winter) and it was great. I have always lived in snowy/icy climates and this car does great in both. It does drag a bit in the summer when the a/c is on and there is some road noise. We are thinking about adding a 3rd kid to our family, but I don't want to give up my CR-V!

This vehicle fell short of what I expected from a Honda product. I began hearing noise from the rear end at about 15,000 miles. I had repeated problems with the audio system,as well. Most recently at 38,000 miles, the airbag sensor light goes on once in a while. Forget about any help from Honda when the warranty expires. My local Honda dealer charges $100 an hour and does not provide free loaner cars. I'm back to Toyotas after this experience with Honda. A UK built Honda can be identified by the the first digit of the VIN being a "S".

Just bought my CR-V last month. It rides decently. However, you can feel the wind push it at high speeds. Does feel a little boxy but handles decently. Has some of the benefits of a traditional SUV but still gets good fuel economy without sacrificing interior room. However, reliability is a question that I have noticed in less than a month. The driver's side headlight just went out with only 35,000 miles. Also it seems the rear door latch is starting to give out. The warning light for the rear door keeps coming on the dashboard while driving even after reconfirming the rear door has been closed. Hopefully this is not the beginning of issues after the warranty runs out.

When my car was totaled in an accident, i wanted to replace it with a small SUV. I am an avid reader of car magazines.. i love cars, and i test drove vehicles from the Freelander and Subaru Forester to RAV4 and Escape. No other vehicle offered the right combination of everything. Standard equipment was optional on everything else. I constantly get 24.6 mpg mixed driving and 29 mpg on the open highway. There is a ton of room for 4 adults and gear and this thing is a lot more capable off road than the reviews say. I looked at the new redesigned CR-V's and they have lost there SUV appeal and no more picnic table! This has been the best purchase and best of all, no problems!!

This is a great little car. It is super for going to the grocery store or cruising for garage sales. The car is super dependable! I love the short turning radius. One even feels comfortable on long trips. One note: I had a clicking sound in the back at 23K and they changed the differential fluid for free. My wife had the same problem with her 06 cr-v at 39K and they charged her $159 because they said it should have been changed at 30K. My next car? Another Honda CR-V!!

We purchased new in Feb. 2006. Since, we have driven from Washington, DC, to Fairbanks, Alaska and have driven it around Alaska for almost 2 years. Let's just say that driving conditions in Alaska are less than ideal: it's Winter 8 months of the year, and most roads outside Anchorage and Fairbanks are not paved. Despite the fact that our CR/V has been less than pampered, we have had zero problems. It was also the least expensive in its class, considering that many of its standard features are options on the RAV-4.

The CRV replaced a 2000 Lexus RX 300. I wanted a car that would haul a lot of stuff, be driven around town without guzzling gas, be good on long hauls, behave reliably, yet able to be driven aggressively. The CRV fulfills all the above except the long haul issue. After 38,000 miles and not a bit of trouble, it confirms Honda's reputation in building reliable, very drivable, affordable vehicles. The engine and transmission shine. Although a 4 cylinder, it really behaves like a small 6. Once you start taking drives longer than 1 to 3 hours though, lookout, it's not very comfortable. And the noise! That's always been Honda's Achille's heel. In summary, local yes, long drives no.

I was looking for an all wheel drive utility vehicle that didn't drive like a truck and would be reliable for 150k miles or more. I'm very satisfield with the ride, gas mileage, handling, and acceleration. Other competitors I test drove (RAV4, Forester) didn't seem to have the handling and smooth acceleration of the CR-V.

I wanted a reasonably priced AWD to replace my beloved 1995 Nissan Pathfinder. The CR-V is exactly what I expected. It runs well and reliably. The gas mileage is about 25MPG - in a good mix of city and highway driving. At first it was hard to adjust to the sounds of the 4 cylinder engine, but I think it actually has a little more pick-up than the Pathfinder did on hilly merges. This is basic, sure-footed, reliable transportation. It's good in the rain and easily gets me up my big hill driveway in the snow. The rear cargo area holds a lot of stuff. And the silver color looks pretty good too.

This is the smallest SUV with AWD I would consider since we are not small people. It is also the first four cylinder I've had for about 20 years. We dumped a V-8 Durango for this little gem, and it does the job. Plenty of power even with the 5 speed auto, but I wish we would have gotten a stick. The D3 setting (only uses lower 3 gears) works well in the hills. It revs quite a bit when you get on it, but climbs well. Not enough leg room for me to drive or ride in front for more than about an hour with the seats all the way back. Very maneuverable though! 2006 was the last year these were made in Japan, and the build quality is there. No rattles, runs smooth and quiet.

Most everything on the vehicle will get a passing grade, except for the ride. On the highway road noise is very loud and on back roads the ride is downright harsh and uncomfortable. Typical of stiff suspension and short wheel base vehicles. I am also disappointed in the gas mileage. I would have thought a four cylinder engine would get more than 20mpg highway. You get what you pay for, I guess. I would not buy another one.

I hate this car, I traded my f-150 supercrew 5.4 for this CR-V because my wife wanted something smaller w/better gas mileage. My truck got 13.5 everywhere, and this CR-V gets about 14 in town, and I completely baby this thing. I keep it under 2000 rpms everywhere in town and still get 14 mpg. It doesn't lock the doors automatically in drive, no auto headlights, terrible ergonomics in the seats and driving position. The only thing positive I have to say about it is that it has light steering and handles decent.

It is extremely quick off the line, handles ok, but will get new sticky wider tires to help that. The sunroof rocks, the cd changer is great, and sound is fine but not as good as the Element. 21-22 mpg in town. On a trip, 26-28.

Overall, I love this SUV. I was worried going from a V6 to a 4 cylinder, but I'm actually surprised at the pick-up this car has. The AWD has been a huge help in the snow and dirt even though it isn't a true 4x4. It is comfortable and has plenty of space and I like the interior layout. I have had a problem with the glove box not completely closing and was told by honda that it is a frequent problem and that they just replace it. It also makes a clanking sound when you first start to drive, but I was told by Honda that it was the rear ABS activating. It worried me at first, but I guess it's ok.

I have owned four Hondas, all have been great reliable cars. In this new addition, the gas mileage is a crime. There should be a law to prevent misrepresenting gas mileage this much. This 4 cyl CRV is getting about the same mileage my 4X4 Toyota Tundra Pickup go when it was new. 17 MPG driving the same roads.

I've been driving Hondas since 1977 (accord, civics, hybrid and acura) and this is my 6th. I really enjoy my '06 CRV/SE. It handles well and is the perfect size for me. I traded in my Civic Hybrid because I wanted more room for camping, etc. The Hybrid got about 42+ mpg so it's a bit tough getting used to the new 22 mpg at 30%/70% city/hwy driving in the CR-V. I haven't decided which model I'm getting for my 7th.

Decided on the 2006 due to the 2007's lack of a manual trans. The CR-V has done everything I've asked of it. Trips to the hardware store, plowing through snow storms, hauling people and gear with ease, it's just about the perfect vehicle. Fuel economy hovers in the upper 20's in the summer, low 20's in the winter. Recommend the CR-V to anyone who asks.

My CRV pulls to the right and sometimes the left. It is not consistent so the dealership says it will be "hard to find". They also said Hondas are built to pull to the right in case you fall asleep at the wheel! I find it very annoying. I also don't like that you can't lock the doors before you get out and shut the door. And as a minor irritant, the door lock's situated so that my husband and I always think it's the window control. I think it should also have daytime running lights. I intend to trade this vehicle in next fall. I owned a CRX for 8 years and totally loved it. Again, these are just my complaints; Hondas overall, I believe, are great vehicles.

This is our first Honda CR-V. We decided on the SE model because of all the options it offered. In general I like the vehicle but I do have some problems with the interior. It has ample power, gets good highway gas mileage, and is very comfortable on long trips. Everything is close to the driver and the steering wheel controls are intelligently placed, although the cruise control on/off switch could have been placed in a better spot. We were able to store tons of luggage for the annual Christmas Trip from Evansville IN to San Antonio Tx. We are very pleased with our investment.

Very nice traveling car, excellent seats for long trips, both front and rear. Ride, handling, acceleration are very good. The manual is very quick (8.7 seconds 0-60) and fun to drive. Comfortably towed a 1200 lbs. trailer over 4000 miles in mountain west with adequate power. Some torque steer on hard acceleration. Worst feature: vulnerable fuel tank, evap recovery cannister, and subframe in rear. Had a $1600 repair from driving on a gravel road with some rocky outcroppings. This is really a suburban car, OK in snow and mud, not suitable for roads that are at all rough. Design is optimized for comfort, space. All-wheel drive requires front wheel-spin before it engages.

Handles well, comfortable as it drives like a car. Clear view of road ahead of you. Look forward to the all-wheel drive in the upcoming winter. Holds its resale value very well. Wind noise is minimal. The fuel efficient 4 cylinder is what sold us. Interior is user friendly. We like the steering wheel mounted radio controls. The vehicle has a nice 4x4 stance, but yet is very classy looking. Like the look of the 2006 more so than the 2007. Rear tinted glass is a bonus for children. Best looking mini SUV on the market.

My first SUV happens to be this Honda CRV EX. It is probably one of the best decisions I have ever made. How can anyone ignore the quality and reliability of Honda? I considered other SUVs in its class but none could compare to the crisp driving experience of the Honda. You can "feel" the quality of craftmanship in the Honda engine when driving. I was considering a used Honda CRV but the high resale value made the difference only 1 or 2k and in some cases the used costed more than the new, so I bought NEW. The good gas mileage is another plus. The fold down and tumble back seats is an amazing feature and the picnic table made this the must have family car. Honda 4 life!

It's a nearly perfect vehicle, just as good as my previous '98 Odyssey, the top rated vehicle in the 1998 Consumer Reports auto issue. I just wish I could have waited to see the 2007 model. Honda packs a lot of vehicle into diminutive dimensions and has cleverly designed the rear seats to adjust back and forth, recline, split, and fold and tumble forward for massive storage.

this is my second CR-V; I just traded in my 2003 CR-V EX (with 88,000 miles on it) for a 2006 model, because I loved my first one. this is my 4th Honda. Honda's really made some great addtions since 2003. First, the EX is now available in 2WD; the AWD was nice, but I did not need it, and felt it robbed mileage. Second, it now has 16- inch tires, so the ride is MUCH improved. Third, the stability control is a nice addition, especially the with the braking assist. Fourth, the new side curtain airbags were a great safety touch. I have had the 2006 for 2 weeks, and I love it. It's fun to drive, and peppy. I am looking forward to improved gas mileage. Glad they kept the in-dash CD changer.

I just bought my car about 2 months ago, and I absolutely love my CR-V. I have always had little sporty cars and needed one with a little more space. I researched a lot of vehicles, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. It handles beautifully, and I still have that sporty feel that I love. Considering I do mostly in town driving, it gets good gas milage for its size. I love the sun roof and in-dash 6 CD changer that comes standard with the EX model. I traded my Scion tc in on the CR-V and am very glad I did.

Originally looking at the RAV4. I decided to go with the CRV. It's actually faster off the start than the RAV, and has 11 HP less. The engine is also quieter than the RAV. I've had this vehicle only a week, and can tell I'll have it for a long time. The SE was also a couple grand less that the RAV. Someone wrote that this vehicle had a noisy engine at higher speeds. This egine is quiet at higher speeds. Nothing bad to say about this vehicle. You can't have everything, but what I have I like.

We have a 2004 Toyota Highlander V6, auto. loaded and were very satisfied with it. It's deserving of Consumer Reports top ratings for safety, reliabilty, etc. Wanted to get a smaller SUV with fully loaded features including moonroof, traction & stability, front, side airbags, etc. CRV also garnered top ratings and deserves it! Can't tell it's only a 4 liter unless we are driving a full load of adults going uphill. Otherwise, it is peppy and powerful on the highway, and gets very good fuel economy. In local driving my Highlander gets overall 18- 19 mpg and the CRV gets 21-22. Great Honda clearance price and next year's CRV styling doesn't look as trucklike as this year's. Go CRV!

It may be too early to call this one a lemon, but it's getting there quickly. It's been in the shop for one of the four weeks we've owned it and will be going back. The vehicle developed a low vibration when accelerating after a week or so. It was determined to be the AC. The dealersip replaced the compressor, belt tensioner, and water pump and drained and refilled the system. It seemed to work, but the vibration has returned. American Honda has not been helpful. Their response has been 'you shouldn't expect perfection from a mass produced vehicle.' I do expect a new vehicle will be at my house more than 3/4 the time I own it. If this keeps up the Lemon Law will allow me to give it back.

I have only had my CR-V a short time, but I am very happy with it. I am amazed at how much pep it has. I live in a rural area with many steep, curvy roads and my CR-V handles even the steepest hills with ease. Despite the tough driving conditions, it is still getting 23+ mpg, which I feel is excellent for the roads I travel and this also includes city driving. It handles like a small car, has a very tight turning radius and yet has enough cargo room for hauling gardening and horse supplies and my 100-lb dog! It provides a smooth ride and has plenty of room for passengers. I think it's a great little SUV and I feel I made a good choice.

I wish the interior came with better standard features, like the cargo cover, cargo net and a better storage between driver & passenger seats. They have a tray that goes up or down, but I miss the "box" that I could put CDs into (they have other spaces for CDs but not as big). Also glove box is too thin/narrow, besides my new car manual, not much else fits. There are also no "hooks" where I can hang things from (like a litter bag) and the visor is a bit too thick. It won't fit my old CD visor holder or my garage door/gate openers. There are a few other "little" inconveniences, but overall I love it so far! :)

I may be the first person to sell a 3 year old Audi A6 (a "luxury") car to get a CR-V. CR-V is fun to drive, very reliable and extremely roomy. Great for lugging a bike or two in back. No question its a no thrills car but that is the beauty behind it. Car has everything on it you need with out the bells and whistles that tend to break anyways. No question this car will be around for a while. Hoping to keep it for my 13 year old son.

I have owned a 1993 Accord, 1999, 2001 and 2003 civic but this CRV was just the right fit for our growning family! We were deciding between the Pilot and the CRV. Hands down, we prefer the CRV. It was $6,000 less, gets better gas mileage (5-7 mpg) and has plenty of room to spare. The flexibilty that the seat positioning offers is great! I especially like the floor in the rear that turns into a picnic/card table. If you are looking at a small SUV, look no further. This CRV gives you the room, versitility, and comfort that you are looking for and at a great price! 2007 is being re-designed and the body style is changing and NOT for the better. Get the 06 while it lasts!

I'm still using the original rotors which are level and smooth as can be. I've had only minor engine problems and use the car to deliver my mail route of 31 miles, 6 days a week. I love both my CR-Vs, they are the best cars I have ever owned.

My CR-V is so comfortable! Already took it too the beach, covered the inside with sand and it cleaned up so easily it looks brand new again. Went camping for a weekend, able to pack all of the supplies we needed, 3 kids in the back and still had room for more stuff. Brightness of headlights is wonderful. Smooth ride. Changing gears was a breeze, like I've always been driving it. The safety features are wonderful. Gas mileage is OK, but that is because I am coming from a coupe. I've caught myself going 85 and not even knowing it. It has so many unnecessary features, that it makes this SUVvery necessary.

This is a great vehicle that is fun to drive on both city roads and the highway. For it's class, it offers the most interior room and cargo space. The CR-V is the best bang for the buck. It's standard features far outweigh any other SUV in its class. What is standard on the CR-V is optional on a lot of others. Can't beat Honda engines, reliability and style. MPG is better than what is stated on the window sticker.

We were looking for something larger for our growing family. We also camp and wanted to be able to take the dog along. We have been very happy with the CRV. It rides great, has plenty of zip, and gets good gas mileage for a vehicle this size (it was one of my top priorities when shopping for a new car). I'm also 6'3" tall, and the car is comfortable on extended trips (we do not have the sun roof, so that may make a difference). I highly recommend the CRV to anyone interested in this type of vehicle.

We just purchased our second CRV last night. We also own a 2000 SE model, that we just love! We are now a His & Hers owner! This one had most of the additional dealer add on accessories, running boards, cargo mat, brushed nickel trim, splash guards, luggage rack. Drove the 2000 SE for 6 yrs, the 2006 CRV SE has a lot of nice features that make this car even more of a value than the original one I purchased. I've never had any problems with the 2000 SE, which now has 65,000 miles and I've been sold on the CRV largely due to the low maintenance costs and safety record. Definitely worth the money, the CRV will not disappoint you!!!

We traded a 1998 Accord with 190000 odometer miles for this Honda LX CRV. In 3 weeks we put 5400 miles on the vehicle. Temperatures from 105 deg. in AZ to below freezing in Montana. Gas from $4.00 in Ca. to $2.75 in Wy. I like being higher above the road. We purchasd the 4 cyl Auto for the fuel economy. The lowest mpg was in Yuma, AZ., around town, temp 105 deg F at 18.5 mpg with Generic Gas. The best was 33 mpg in the Sacramento Valley and 32 mpg in Wy. both with brand name Gas. We did not experience any mechanical failures on this trip. Honda has done a good job with the layout of the driver and passenger accessories. The front door storage is inconvenient. I give the CRV a rating of 9.

I had this CR-V for almost two months and I'm quite satisfied with it. I compared it with the Rav4, and when you consider the base price/with standard options, the value is with the Honda. I've driven 1700 miles and with this peppy little engine, I've gotten 23 mpg around town and 33 mpg highway (unloaded). Though, at low speed (20- 30 mph) when I take my foot off the gas, it seems like it's holding back- but again, the mpg was still good! I will be bringing that up with the dealer next month. The overall ride is good but the seat seems a bit stiff. The bottom line - I would buy this CR-V again.

I bought this vehicle mainly for its fuel economy and low ownership cost, and it's ok in those regards. However, I'm disappointed by its rough ride, noisy engine and cabin. I find the controls and interior details annoying. For example, the accessory power stays on only when the ignition is on, making it impossible to keep a cell phone charging overnight. The window lock on the drivers side prevents even the driver from operating the windows. You can't lock the doors with the remote unless all the doors are closed and if you unlock the doors remotely and don't open a door right away, it locks itself again. Honda, stop trying to protect me from myself -- it's annoying!

So good I bought another one!

After exhaustive research, there really wasn't much choice. We wanted better gas mileage than our old MPV minivan, good reliability, maximum safety (teen drivers coming soon), 4WD to get up to the ski area, and cargo area that was at least near the ballpark of the MPV. So far, it's been been a great all-around vehicle and has lived up to our high expectations.

I can understand the frustration of people that expected 23mpg. The tag on the car says that is a national average. The small print says 19 to 23. I am getting 20 in the city. The XM Ready thing might be considered mis-leading but that logo is the industry standard for telling people they need to buy a receiver. Over all the CRV is working out great. I added the arm rest, day/night mirror, window tint, rubber matts and other features. All should be part of the base but it would make the CRV cost more. I think overall its a good buy and will hold value when other cars lose value. If you add one thing at the dealer, get the mirror and tinting. It makes for better over all driving experience.

This car has a lot of very user friendly touches, I do miss automatic climate control and power seats. On a long trip I would kill for about 4 more inches of leg room. I purchase one of the only two white CRV's with manual drive. I wished I had went ahead and purchased the automatic, but my husband was worried about power going up the Grapevine and Tehacapi Mountains that surround us. The gear shift needs to be raised about 3" taller and there are no arm rests for the driver or passenger front seats. The clutch is very smooth and effortless, and does give the vehicle the ability to drop to a lower gear and pass without effort. The ride is wonderful and what we wanted for all the traveling we plan to do, and the AWD allows us to not worry about what time of the year or where we are going.

I've owned my CR-V for less than a month & only have about 800 miles on it, but early returns are very positive! It is flexible, agile, roomy, and fun to drive. I've been getting gas mileage right at the EPA estimated 22 city & looking forward to a road trip next month. I evaluated a couple of dozen vehicles and drove 10 or 12 before finally settling on the CR-V. It is a compromise vehicle...not as fast, roomy, powerful, flexible, sexy, economical, etc., etc., etc., as some, but IMHO offers the best possible combination of features.

I regretted trading in my 05 accord 4 door for the crv it was so much better in build and better mpg and with better insulating materials. Gas mileage was aweful as well. I did all of my california driving on the highway, with little traffic and still averaged only 20 mpg, considering epa is 23 city and 27 highway(what a joke). I have always owned many hondas and will always be loyal to the product but skip the crv if you expect a quiet ride and good gas mileage for a 4 cyl.

Nice sized interior for a small SUV. There's plenty of headroom to spare for an averaged sized 6' guy even with the moonroof. Lots of cargo carrying capacity. Car like handling. Good power from the small quiet and smooth running engine. Smooth shifting transmission that's idealy suited to the engine and vehicle. Good fuel economy that's equal to or better than most small cars. I replaced my '99 CRV with this one and I plan to keep it for a long time.

I've had my 2006 CR-V for about a month, and I love it! It has the benefits of an SUV, such as sitting up high, but is still compact and easy to maneuver and drive. It handles well and looks great.

I walked away from a crash were a young kid hit me from behind on the passenger side when he was doing around 70 MPH. Side curtain airbags deployed and the driver seat actually broke due to the force of the impact. But I opened the door and walked away with a sore neck and back. The insurance company totaled the CRV. I am going to go buy a new one as soon as I can. Thanks Honda for such a safe vehicle.

I was thinking about buying either a Rav4 or a CR-V and decided on the CR-V maiinly because I owned and recently desposed of a 1995 Accord. I'm glad I chose the CR-V. The CR-V is a fun car to drive. It is very nimble and peppy without losing a supple and comfortable ride. The fit and trim is the same quality that Honda is known. The seating is comfortable especially in the rear seat. I purchase the cargo cover and I now have a trunk as large as any I've owned. This is a quality vehicle at a very reasonable price.

The 2006 Silver Moss CR-V LX Fwd was three years in coming for me. Had driven some of my family members CR-V's and simply was amazed with its looks, comfort, value, & reliability. With the addition of traction control, vehicle stability control, Electronic Brake force distribution, side air-bags & side curtain air bags, anti-lock brakes, 16" tires and 5 star safety rating for 2006, purchasing the CR-V just made real 'CENTS'! ALL for a selling price of $19,467 with front mudguards and Honda "H" Logo pinstripe, I HAD MY CR-V plus got a 7yr/80K w/ $0 deductible Honda Care Extended Warranty for $680 (other dealers wanted $1,499 for same item). Would highly recommend the Honda CR-V to anyone!

i love my cute Honda CR-V. It handles like a dream. Has incredibly smooth transmission. Acceleration is commendable for such a small engine. It gives exactly what it claims: 21mpg city driving; about 28 for highway. The available cargo room is amazing. The CR- V is stylish, but it has a lot of competition from the copycats.

This is my third Honda, all based on the Civic platform, dating back to 1982. The first two were 82 and 89 Civics. They served their purpose, but I ended up with a bunch of Toyotas, including a 1993 Toyota Previa which now has well over 400K miles. When looking for an all-around family utility vehicle, I almost ended up buying the Toyota RAV4, but the 2005 model was too small and the 2006 model is trying to be another Toyota Highlander, bigger and over-priced. I searched all over car lots for something to set itself apart, that's when I came across the 2006 Honda CR-V LX 4WD, the ONLY trim level made in Japan, not England. All 2007 CR-V will be bigger made outside Japan; that's OK, Right?

ok, but sorry I didn't get a toyota

Fuel mileage in around town driving is poor, at best. On the highway it is close to the rated 29MPG. Don't expect any extras like windows finishing going up or down after the key is turned off, or any kind of fuel economy readings or trip computer. When they say the radio is XM ready, they mean ONLY if you buy their version for about $500. Don't forget to ask for fog lights if you want them, add on is another $500. Dealers like to add another 1500-2000 for their special features, like paint sealant or vent deflectors, or sunroof deflector. All in all, if I ahd it to do over, I wouldn't.

I just bought my '06 CRV SE and so far its been a great little SUV! Has much more pick up than I thought it would have, faster than the ford escape with v-6! Shopped around alot and nobody could beat the deal that honda would give for a suv with same features. The SE edition is worth the extra money, plus you get it back in resale value. Also very roomy inside, 72 cu. ft! Solid road feel, couldnt be happier!

Sure you could get better gas mileage with a sedan, but the CR-V gets great gas mileage for a SUV. It has lots of cargo space for a smaller SUV. It handles like a car, but you still get to feel like you're riding high and driving a bigger automobile. If you can afford it, and don't mind the lower gas mileage, then get the Pilot. But for a small SUV, the CR-V is great!

Drives great when in the rain. It is a practical car, love the picnic table and the spacious cargo area. I also love the fact that the seats can be made into a chaise lounge. It is a great car to have when having small children in the car. The side curtain air-bags makes me feel safe as well as the reenforced safety cage.

I bought my V last month about a week before christmas, the buying process was done 90% via internet/email and phone, it went very smooth. After about 4 weeks now my V has 800's miles and it has been excellent and fun drive. The acceleration is very smooth, easy to get in and out, drives like a sedan, I can load my bike inside with the back seats folded. Plenty of storage spaces and very thoughtful. Honda really think forward and know what their customers want/need (mostly).

This vehicle gives the driving impression of being a larger SUV. The interior is very functional with lots of small storage trays and well laid out. Power is suprisingly adequate for a 4 cylinder. Gas mileage is 25 to 27 in urban driving. Vehicle performs very well on wintry roads.

Handles great, went through snow with ease. I've only owned my Honda for a month but it is pretty much everything I expected. I already knew that one of the cons is that you can hear road noise quite a bit through the doors. One disappoint is that it hasn't lived up to the gas mileage claim. I got 24 mpg hwy and only 20 mpg hwy/city. I'm going to change gas grades and see if that makes a difference. If they want to improve this great little SUV they could add headlights that turn off and automatically. Overall I am very pleased with my Honda CRV.

I just bought my '06 CRV SE and I couldn't be happier! I traded in my '99 Civic EX and could not believe how much I loved the CRV. It doesn't drive like a typical SUV, much more like a car. Would HIGHLY suggest upgrading to the Special Edition if your budget allows. Leather really gives interior a classier and more professional look. Drives great in heavy rain also, I felt very safe. Time will tell on gas mileage. I shopped around a lot and the Honda dealers were definitely the most honest and straight forward. Overall, very happy with my purchase.

I still like it a lot.

I love my CR-V, I really do, but Honda left a bad taste in my mouth with the "xm ready" feature. The advertising as well as the OWNERS MANUAL make it seem like you just call up XM to activate your radio, the radio even has an xm button on it. You do have to call XM to activate it, but you can't call untill you have them install the $539 xm receiver.

This vehicle was an amazing surprise. Its quality was so far superior to the Ford Escape, and Mercury Mariner that I test drove that it was no contest. It has better acceleration, no squeaks or rattles like the Ford products, and more importantly with its side curtain air bags over the windows, anti-lock brakes with computer control, and traction control all built in standard, it was the safest vehicle you can buy for around $20,000. We were surprised how nimbly it drove, and tested it on empty, wet parking lot, and it maneuvered flawlessly, as we worked the anti-lock brakes to ensure they operated correctly. We are very impressed, as it is far better than Toyota's and Nissan's we have owned.

I should have purchased my crv years ago, it's the best vehicle I've owned yet. I have a 20 month old and she loves it because she can see out the windows easily from her car seat. We took it on a road trip and it held as much luggage and etc. as our mountaineer did with A LOT better gas mileage. If I could afford to buy another one, me and my husband would both have one. He has plenty of leg room and he is 6 foot 4 inches. We think it's a great investment for the price.

Traded by 2000 CRV (EX) for a 2006 EX. After the first 2 weeks, and 400 miles, I am pleased with the purchase. Mileage, mostly around town, was about 22 for the first 2 fill ups. Engine response and pickup is far superior to the 2000 model. Only 2 minor complaints so far. The rear window wiper only cleans about 60% of the window and I really miss the "junk drawer" under the passenger seat in the 2000 CRV.

I looked at several small SUVs, including the Chevy Equinox, Ford Escape, and Suzuki XL-7. The CR-V offers the most fun for the money, and the manual tranny is a blast to drive! It is quicker than my last car, a Ford Explorer V-8! It gives great mileage, is a cinch to park, and has as much room as the Explorer ever did (usable room, anyway). The interior cubbies are the best, I have room for Kleenex packets, loads of CDs, my parking deck gate card, and any other small items I ever have, all with its own place!

Instead I upgraded the EX with wood trim interior, compass, gold trim lettering and custom wheel cover. It is a beauty. The CRV is best of all worlds: fun to drive, efficient, full featured and one of the safest cars on the road. My teenaged daughter has the 2002. I feel she is safe in it and her friends like it so much, many of their parents have bought the same.

Car has several problems, not including a couple of rattles. Car has always had an idle problem that results in hesitation in the mid RPM range. Honda will not fix the problem because they are in denial. Most likely cause is a bad throttle sensor. Very annoying and dangerous (the car can fail to turn off the throttle). In addition, the rear differential is binding.

I found the Honda CR-V easy to handle when driving up hills and around corners. It's got plenty of room for five people, and ample room to store things in the back. I expecially like that the door in the rear opens "out" like a car door verses "up" like most other suv's. This makes it easier on the arms and shoulders of women or smaller people.

Nice mini SUV, but Rear visiblity is Hinder by the spare tire. Do not rear end anything. the bumper cost about $500 apiece w/o the paint job. Bumper are all fiberglass no foam or hard metal to protect the body. Check ATF before you leave the dealer, mine came without any. not a drop. Honda replace my tranny with a remanufactured tranny and extended my warranty. But I feel my CRV is not the original vehicle. REMANUFACTURED ??? Whats that?

This car/suv is fabulous. Luxurious leather seating, thoughtful interior touches, so much roomier than it looks. This definitely has a lot of zip and is a breeze to pass people. It's such an incredibly smooth ride. The steering is very accurate (not numb like the Escape) and the brakes are tight and responsive (unlike the spongy Escape ones). I'm very pleased with this vehicle. I test drove the following cars to come to this conclusion: Escape, Tuscon, Equinox, Rendezvous, Sportage, Sedona. This Honda beats them all hands down!

I am very happy with the CRV SE. I have had Honda's for over 16 years, I went from the Oddyssey to the Pilot in 2005 and now to the CRV in 06. Since all my kids have Honda's, I decided I didn't need a big vehicle anymore. It took me about a week to get use to the small size coming from the Pilot. I am very impressed and like the 4 cyclinder engine and ease in whipping around. My wife loves the car and this is the first time she ever said anything about the cars I buy.
