The lady I bought my Trailblazer from had kept up oil changes, but had never tuned it up or changed the transmission fluid. I had these taken care of, and at 156xxx miles, it still runs and shifts like a new one, and is still going and going. I like everything about the Trailblazer, and the 4.2 straight six has a surprising amount of power. I have a bass boat, and with the 6200 pound towing capacity of this SUV, it pulls the 19 ft boat like a dream. The only down side of this car, some of the interior panels aren't as sturdy as they should be. The plastic panel that covers the power seat controls has two snap in tabs. One of them broke. I just shot a screw through it, but it is rather flimsily made. The latch on the center console is sprung or something, so the lady I bought it from put velcro on it to keep it closed. My Trailblazer doesn't have 3rd row seating, but the rear headrests block a little of my vision looking through the rear view mirror. The headrests are coming out, no one rides back there anyway. If I know we will have extra passengers, I'll put them back in. Our mechanic speaks very highly of Trailblazers, says he very rarely sees any major problems with them. He also said he sees much fewer drive train issues than with any other domestic vehicles. Mine is a 2006, made before the bailout making GM "government motors"! Love this vehicle. I haven't had it off road yet, but I have been assured that it won't disappoint me there either.

As a single female I love the security of the SUV. I purchased this 2006 Trailblazer in 2008 with 33,000mi and have never regretted my purchase. Repairs have been normal wear and tear mostly. The bearings went a couple times on me in the right front wheel but overall repairs have been minimal. The truck currently has 194,000 and is still going strong. Our family has always purchased Toyotas so I was apprehensive to own an American made Chevy but all my doubts were laid to rest with this particular vehicle. I will be looking for my next Chevy soon.

My parents bought a 2006 4WD LS Trailblazer from a used car lot in 2007/2008 with about 20K-30K miles on it. We have since owned the vehicle since 2010. This SUV was the first one I've ever owned. It took a little getting used to the low gas mileage, but living in Pennsylvania with sometimes heavy snow and icy conditions, it was great having a vehicle with 4WD and good ground clearance. This vehicle will hit 200,000 miles within the next month and I hope to keep the vehicle for at least another 20K miles (unless some costly major repair is needed). The vehicle is on its 3rd or 4th set of tires, I replaced the engine belt at 187K miles, I've replaced the front struts, all 4 rotors recently, and the belt tensioner twice ($15 part). The O2 sensor has been replaced once and I am online now ordering a thermostat for the engine (and a rear tail-light, my wife backed into a car yesterday while out shopping). The Inline 6 engine is highly rated and I've never had any issue with it. The rear struts need to be replaced, but it still passes state inspection and each time the mechanics mention how great of condition this vehicle is in. My only complaints with this vehicle are that the interior is cheap looking on our LS model. The dash is cheap feeling hard plastic and the rear speakers have been out for over a year. Overall I love this vehicle and would consider buying another even though they are pretty old. There is a fantastic website forum called TrailVoy.com with tons of discussions for any problem you could have with this vehicle and helpful tips on DIY fixes, or advice on paying for repairs.

I have had this truck since 07. I bought it for myself as a birthday gift. It sits at 198,000 miles and it runs like I just drove it off the lot. I keep up the necessary maintanace on it. I have been threw a few battiers, much to my own fault for having my system hooked up to it. A fuel tank sensor (recalled so I got my money back), tires, water pump two times, an altanator, rear hatch shocks, and some front end stuff (struts, control arms, bearings, etc. ) I love this truck and I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I'm not looking forward to the day I have to replace it...

I have loved this car, but I do not have the time nor wish to spend the amount of time necessary in up keeping this car. The older it gets, the more the little things keep adding up. From the AC to the fan to the hatch hydraulics to the windshield wipers to the driver door panel to the sun roof to the electric shorting in general...... the list goes on and on. I have always felt pretty safe driving it, unless the battery dies or the fuel pump fails. You need AAA with this car.

I had my 2006 trailblazer for little over 3 years, and as much as i loved the car it was on problem after another one with it, it was all fine till you start hitting the 80,000 mile mark after that everything started going, it was starting to rust really fast, it was breaking down about every other month till finally around 92,000 miles i had it with it and traded it in, very fun to drive, but repair cost through the roof. It was a well cared for car to, so i am shocked i had so much issues

This is my second Trailblazer. First one was 2003. Kept the 2003 for about 4 years and 90,000+ miles. I bought the 2006 in 2009 with about 30,000 miles on it. It now has 115,000 miles. Love its power and appearance. Gas mileage is acceptable with about 15-17 city and 20 -22 on the highway. Only problems with it other than maintenance was the fuel sensor, which I had to replace and belt tensioner ($20.00). I have replaced the brakes twice. Tires replaced once. Used it to pull 4,000 lb trailer for a while. It did it, but it wasn't happy. With a 3,000 lb trailer it drives much better, but hwy mileage sank to about 13-14 mpg. When this one wears out I will look for another one.

I love it

Ive seen many bad reviews on the car but I have yet to have a problem that isnt my fault. Im a hot head and am often known to put my foot to the petal really fast...And yet my car has not had ONE problem with it thus far. My problems have always been dents and dings I get from not paying attention. Im on 130,000 miles and had it for 2 years. Im a SUV lover and though I have ramed into people in the past my car still runs strong. Its my baby.

Purchased from a Chevy dealership in 2007 w/17k miles. Later found out it was a rental. Had it in the shop 4 or 5 times the first few weeks. Items which have failed on me: on my 3rd water pump (only have 72k miles right now) replaced front tires, and then all 4, had the fuel guage go once, and then a 2nd time which I have not fixed which causes the check engine light to come on, battery drains w/ac or heat running at a stop-shop can't figure it out, Interior lights are out along the radio buttons, both front seats are no longer connected by the plastic frame-taped to hold on, rear winshield washer hasn't worked in years, now there is a loud noice coming off the front wheels - bearings?

We had a fuel sensor issue with the Trailblazer. The gas gague always read empty when the sensor went out. There is a "hidden assistance recall" that GM has that you have to go thru a dealer. We were quoted $340 just to replace the sensor and not the pump. We found the sensor on e-bay for $25.00 and did it ourselves.

regrets regrets,never again!!

3 things simply stated that you will keep finding out. 1) accelerator sticks, car was going 73 mph by itself, 2) Transmission slips constantly, under 50k engine mind you, 3) Engine needed to be replaced within dealership warranty period. Either no one knows how to put these cars together right or there are defects bottom line.

I have owned 2 s-10 blazers and 3 Astro Vans. I bought this vehicle sight unseen and not even knowing the vehicle. Called the dealer and they offered me this. WOW! Bigger than what i expected but very nice for a used vehicle. I have a bad back and the lumbar support seats were great for a 270 mile round trip in one day (avg 24 mpg) highway and rural roads. It's an SUV I get the same mpg as I had w/ my earlier SUVs and vans. Would like to have a better clearance over the hood but no powers seats. (previous 5 vehicles had) OnStar is great. 2 days after i bought it, -32 deg wind chill, vehicle had a stuck throttle, hit Onstar and they ran i diagnostic. fixed it w/no garage visit.

I bought this car in December of 2008 with 40,000 miles on it. It was previously a leased vehicle. Everything has been great so far. I had to put a new alternator on it at 80,000 miles. I also had to put new shocks/struts on it at 100,000 miles. Just got the brakes re-done at 103,500 miles (they were still the original brakes). Overall, I have been really lucky with this car. It is great for my close to 50,000 miles of driving annually.

My TB has been great except for the fuel economy (13 mpg hwy) and sensor issues. "Service stabili-trak" warning comes on often but resets when the car is turned off so the dealer saw nothing wrong. They never fixed it and told me it was probably just a sensor issue. Around 45k miles, the gas level gauge stopped working which is a pain since it constantly beeps that I'm out of gas. The "check engine" light comes on as a result and it failed emissions but the dealer won't fix it under emissions warranty. My cousin works for a parts dealer and says GM cars have TONS of sensor issues. Firestone told me the same thing. A new battery caused no electrical issues as others have had. AC is great

My wife bought this heap with 17k thousand miles on it and it now has 48k. It is a perfect example of why I will never buy a GM product again, the interior is falling apart, the problems listed by other owners is the same we have experienced: gas light not working, radio will not turn off when door is opened and ignition is off, ignition had to be replaced (we took it in three times telling them it was not working but were told each time it was something else like the battery. No need to look further to see why this company (American or not) is going out of business. Terrible quality- don't put someone you love in one. We will get rid of it as soon as we can and buy a Nissan or Honda.

So far..

I have a 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 2LT with a 5.3 L V8 engine in it. Bought used about 2 months ago with 26,000 miles on it. So far, it was a great deal! The first time I went to the gas station I found out I got 12 mpg for city. I figured out that the oil was just nothing special. Since I put the new Penzoil Oil, & ExtraGuard Oil Filter, the performance improved, then got 13.5 city (drives 2-4 mph over the speed limit). I found out later that my tires also weren't properly inflated, so I got the tires to the amount of pressure the vehicle handles, & the fuel range went up! Overall, this is a really nice SUV! I will update this with a new review later & see if this keeps going.

I bought my TB LS in 2007 w/ 18,000k. I'm currently operating this vehicle w/ 89,000. I have replaced the fuel pump, my LO Headlamps are in-opt, and I've had interior issues from poor material. I have used this vehicle for daily commute to work and family trips. I'm currently experiencing engine knocking. I have maintained proper oil changes, etc. I am looking at trading this vehicle in for a more reliable sedan with better mpg. I will likely have to hold on the this vehicle a little longer in order to finance another vehicle due to negative equity on the TB.

Love it. Gas mileage poor 15city/21 (maybe 22 downhill) highway. Better highway mileage with 87 or better octane. It is a SUV. Purchased used with 16k miles on it in '08. Do a nearly cross-country trip every year so was looking for a vehicle like this. I can pile most of the kids soccer team in it. Now have 92k miles on so far. Other than check engine light (think it went on at 75k) and gas gauge not working (I let it run out of gas and hasn't worked since) its been a great vehicle.

Yesterday after my vehicle had been parked it would not go into gear. You could feel the gear shift slipping, not engaging in any position. Checked/full of transmission fluid. Only has 36,000miles. A gentleman asked if he could help, said he worked for a chevy dealer, said the belt slips off of the gear shift and this is a very common thing. Also said that chevy dealer would tell you you needed a new belt, but that it can be put right back on, as a matter of fact he did it right in the parking lot with a pair of scissors. Has anyone had this issue with this vehicle. Otherwise we are very satisfied with our TB, no issues other than this

I bought this with 14k on it. I got a great deal until I realized the problems that developed. Just like other reviewers I had problems with the gas gauge, and then the trans when out at 70k. I don't pull anything and my wife drives the car so there is no hot rodding. I'm very disappointed in this car. Of course the next year they offered 7/100k warranty. Bad model year (2006) stay away from this car.

I purchased this vehicle with 65k on the clock, and it is hands-down the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I added a lift, different shocks, Tahoe springs, and other stuff, and it drives even better. Real body-on-frame construction, and low range make this a great vehicle. Parts are cheap, and there are plenty of them, so junkyards have tons of salvage parts as well... very pleased with my vehicle!

Wow. Reading thru the unhappy reviews is like reading thru our own list of needed repairs that we can't afford. Gas gauge, check engine light, cv- joint, and on, and on, and on. The list keeps growing. We get one thing fixed and something else goes wrong. My husband travels extensively for work and needs a reliable car. This sure isn't it but we can't afford to trade right now.

I bought this vehicle used with around 9k on it. I've got close to 100k on it and it's still running strong. I have done the regular maintenance, recently changed out the spark plugs myself (which terrifies me with these new cars) and still going. The only thing that I've had to replace were the plastic panels on the bottom of the front seats. Tows awesomely. Mileage can be better, but on a really good day, no wind, flat straight road, I can pull 23mpg, maybe. I'm not a chevy fan and was kinda forced into this vehicle, but I am impressed overall.

This was actually my second Trailblazer. The first one was good so I bought another one. I have driven this vehicle across country many times and in some pretty bad weather conditions. It has always performed flawlessly. I haven't experienced the issues that others have (I have read the reviews here). Mine has 56000 miles.. never had to have any warranty work done. I have replaced the rear brakes but the front ones are still okay. I put a new set of tires on it this past year. I find it comfortable to drive long distance. Fit, finish, paint, etc.. are good and vehicle still looks like new. No squeeks or rattles.. still like new.

I'll make a list- line in hatch snapped $400, new battery$120, new starter$300, gas gauge broke$575, throttle body (feels like it going to stall when I stop)$175, I haven't gotten all these fixed yet due to money. This is unbelievable. I shouldn't be putting a dime in to this vehicle! I'm very disappointed and disgusted! Any recalls? there should be!

My daughter bought a Trailblazer LS from Cal Worthington and had nothing but trouble. They tried to charge her for charging a battery that was dead because there was some problem with the alarm system and she couldn't turn off the radio, etc. Then the engine blows because they said there was no oil in the engine. She had recently had an oil change which she did regularly. These vehicles should be recalled.

I had problems with my blazer, before the warranty was up. Took it to Wilson Motors, they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it, It's in my front end , & when I turn corners it really makes noise's, like the front end is going to fall off, & just after my warranty was up, my heater went out , I smelled burnt wiring,so,need a new wiring harness, now when I roll my window up,power windows, the headlights flicker.I'm afraid my car will catch on fire.& had a humming noise going on, thought it was a fan , or something, took it in ,the mechanic replaced something on it, said that happens alot with these vehicles & with the wiring problems, he said that happens alot with these vehicles.

We leased this vehicle new in 2006 and have been very happy with it. We occasionally use this vehicle to tow with, commute to work, and to take on trips. Last summer, we drove the vehicle 9 hours to Tennessee with four adults, luggage, and loaded down with a trailer and it performed beautifully. The engine is strong and the turning radius is amazingly tight. This is the easiest vehicle I have ever parked. Even though it is two wheel drive, the traction control makes it handle great in the snow. I'm going to miss it when we turn the lease back in next May.

My Trailblazer has reached 44000 trouble free miles. The only thing I have had to do is to put rear brakes on about 3 months ago. The fronts were still good so the dealership said I could wait a while on those. Original tires are still in good shape as well. This is actually my second TB. This one was a bit fancier than the first one and has the 4x4, step bars, mud flaps, etc. I have driven this vehicle across country several times as well as towed my trailer with it. It performs well, is comfortable and enjoyable to drive. Over-all I am pleased with the performance and reliability that this truck has provided. I would buy another one but I have heard GM is phasing this model out.

I currently have 23,000 miles on my 2006 trailblazer. My check engine light came on, and they said it was misfiring in the cylinders. They replaced one, but that didn't fix it. Gm told them to replace the whole head and gaskets. They billed gm for over $6,000 warranty work, and now the light is on again. They are saying it is a parts problem, but they have to order the same part again to put back in it..$6,000 more dollars. My warranty is up in 2 more months, and I am trading this vehicle. My cousin has one also, and has problems. The service manager told me that it was a problem with the in line 6 engine in this vehicle.

I purchased a new 2006 chevy trailblazer 4dr ls 6 cyl in 2005. As soon as the warranty is up my check engine lite came on and then went out, and they tell me that I have a miss fire in the head of the engine. I took it into a dealership and they tell me that it will cost me $4,000. for a new head that they wont stand behind because it is not a recall yet. The service writer tells me that they are having this problem in the Colorados too. And that it is a manufacture flaw that the heads they used need new sleeves. In the mid year of 2006 they changed their warranty to a 5 year 100,000 . I have the 3yr 36,000. My blazer has just under 50k miles.

Purchased "pre-owned", turns out it was a rental. had 14k on it at purchase. Just hit the 40k mark (and 3 year for it on the market) and the battery dropped dead the other morning. I have had 7 flat tires in 2 years (have not had a flat since my last Chevy back in 1998!) The fuel gauge/lever has already been replaced, noise from windows at high speeds like everyone else has said is annoying. gas mileage is OK, I don't let it go past 1/2 since it is so expensive so I am getting around 200 miles on a good week. Antenna comes loose every few months. Replaced front Goodyears with Yokahamas and they are so much better. I just don't like American cars. there was a reason I had Toyotas for years.

After two years, this truck has proven dependable and still in good shape. We drive it off road regularly because we live off road, and it hasn't yet developed squeaks or rattles. 6 cyl engine provides enough power to pull a trailer and averages 17 mpg for combined use. Problems after 33,000 miles: passenger window sometimes sticks, rear window washer hose lose, read door gasket sags. Overall, meets our expectations.

This vehicle has been in the repair shop for electrical problems 2 times, with only 5600 miles this annoying. The 291 horsepower rating, i think is wrong, more like 200 hp. Gas mileage is 12-14 city and 18-20 highway. Off the line acceleration is horrible, from 0- 40 feels like a go-kart, once you are past 40 mph acceleration is awesome. A Geo Metro can beat this vehicle off the line. Transmission is ok, but I think a 5 or 6 speed would improve performance and gas mileage. G80 rear locking differential is awesome, with this no need for 4wd. Wind noise is horrible at highway speeds, sounds like a window is open. Turning circle is great, better than most cars. Stability control is excellent.

This SUV is fun to drive and handles great. The mileage stinks. It gets around 15 mpg so it seems like I am always at the gas pump. The interior design is cheap looking.iI would be nice to have the wood trim like GMC and the new 2007 Chevy Tahoes and Suburbans have. The build quality is poor. It sounds like the windows are down when they are all up and about a month ago the it got stuck in drive and would not move to R or P(park)so that wasn’t good. The sound system is good but it makes everything shake/rattle when the bass is on. Other than that this SUV is a good buy!

This is the first SUV that I have ever owned or driven. I bought it because it has 4 wheel drive and I travel to Minnesota several times a year. The ride is great. I like the size and being able to see traffic. The one thing I find difficult is looking back to check cars that I have passed, I am only 5'2" and the head rests seem to impair my vision field. I like the overall size and the ease of getting large items in and out of the back end. To date I only have great things to say. Winter is coming, so I will test my "snow" skills at that time.

I have been completely satisfied with it, and we did use it during our "October Surprize" blizzard of '06. My wife also is happy with driving it. My gas mileage all around has been 16/17 in mixed driving, not great but acceptable, and it's not broken in yet. I don't regret for a minute buying it and highly recommend it.

My wife and I looked at the Toyota 4Runner, Ford Explorer, Dodge Durango and Nissan Armada as well as the Chevy TrailBlazer. I was leaning toward the Chevy, but let my wife make the final decision since she would be the primary driver. All five SUVs could handle the necessary trailering of our 3300 lb. sailboat and were comparably priced at the trim levels we wanted. It won her thumbs up for comfort, solid feel, on- demand power, and aesthetics. After 23K miles it has proven to be very reliable, comfortable on short and long trips and she gets at least 17 mpg on her daily 60 mile trips into the congested city. No squeaks or rattles, lots of oomph and classic looks make this a winner.

I purchased a 2006 TrailBlazer LT three days ago, and I'm very disappointed. When I took it for a test drive, I tried to find a comfortable position for the driver's seat, but could not. Since it has the 8-way adjustment, I figured it was me, not the seat. I was wrong. Look around the 'net and you'll find numerous complaints about the hard/uncomfortable driver's seat. The design is terrible. The seat feels like you are sitting on a rolling pin, and the lumbar adjustment is another rolling pin that still protrudes too much, even when "deflated". The frustrating part is that I like everything about the rest of the TrailBlazer (V8, Bose, XM, OnStar,etc.). The 8 way seat causes back pain.

I tried the 4 runner, which seemed great until I drove the Chevy. I traded up from a Cobalt. So far so good. It's a smooth truck. I expected the ride to be a little harder, but it handles better than a small car.

I had a 2002 TrailBlazer and loved it. I was very pleased with everything about it. The handling, gas mileage, etc. I traded it in for a 2006. It had more options on it. Sunroof, six disc player, power driver seat. I'm still getting great gas mileage. It was even a little cheaper than my 2002. For the price, you can get a lot for your money. I will buy another one if I decide I want a new SUV!

The TrailBlazer is a good alternative to a crew cab pickup truck. It is a solid off roader, good tow vehicle, and can be had at a good price. The locking differential is a must for any towing or off roading, as is the skidplate. The TrailBlazer doesn't drive as good as a Highlander or Pilot, but they can't tow what a TrailBlazer can. Nor can they match its truck-like capability. The roof rack is functional and sturdy, and holds my kayak and supplies (300 lbs) easily. Mileage is decent (22ish highway, 17 around town). If you worry about fuel, then buy a crossover. The tight turning circle really makes it easier to park than my Mazda 6. Bargain hard!

I have the LT 4x4 regular wheelbase with the amazing 4.2L 291hp six. This car is underated by many consumer magazines. This is still the most powerful 6 cylinder SUV you can get. V8 power, 6 cylinder fuel efficiency. I pulled a 5500 pound trailer last month about 400 miles, and the TrailBlazer took it with ease. It can also pull my two ATVs to the camp and back through moderate off road conditions with no problem, thanks to the automatic four wheel drive. After 11,000 miles, I find that my highway mileage is around 23, city mileage is as low as 17. The dashboard is intuitive, but ugly. Check the Envoy out if you worry about that kind of thing.

This is a very nice SUV to drive, very smooth, great views, turning radius is long but you can live with it. I drive 50 miles one way to work and am always very comfortable. Wish gas mileage was a little better however, but you take the good with the so-so. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone in the market for a midsize SUV

You really need to drive one of these!

I have owned every kind of vehicle from a Hyundai Excel to a Ford F150 and everything in between. Aside from my Honda Accord, this is the best vehicle I have ever owned. Smooth. Pretty quiet, but the mirrors do make some noise. I like the way the controls are set up other than the wiper control and cruise control stalk. Why does GM insist on the same control stalk I had on my 1984 Fiero? On a $30k+ truck? Fuel mileage quite good considering this truck weighs more than my F150 ext. cab 4x4 (!!). It's sharp, relatively refined and very comfortable. I would buy another one without question, and would recommend anyone shopping SUVs gives this truck legitmate consideration.

I had bought a 2004 TrailBlazer LT fully loaded. After Separating from my wife I gave her back the 2004 and purchased a new 2006 LS base model. I returned to Chevy after being disappointed by Chrysler twice before. The fuel mileage is 18 mpg plus in the city. Highway mileage varies depending on your lead foot or not. I am seriously considering trading my 2006 LS TrailBlazer for a 2007 SS TrailBlazer.

Bought the TrailBlazer new in March. We have ejoyed the extra room with our small little family. Also love the power the strait 6 gives us, but with that comes the terrible gas mileage! I have also had it back to the dealer 3 times now for adjustments to the doors because the wind noise is so bad. Tonight I got home and started to roll the power windows up and the driver side completely stopped working. Here is another trip I am going to have to take to the dealer. Other than all of the stupid little problems I am having to put up with, it is wonderful!

I had a 2000 and 2001 Blazer before bought the '05 Trailblazer. I am 6" tall and had a hard time in the older models because my head would be in the sunroof--pretty uncomfortable. The '05 sits up higher and the head clearance is taller so I have lots of head room. The back seats are great for the kids (2 in car seats and one not). They are not cramped. I love this truck--the interior is great. I have the dark ebony interior and it is super for families with small children- -you cannot see the stains. All in all I love it and would purchase it again in a heartbeat. I am looking forward to the next model

After five days and only 250 miles of driving my 2006 Trailblazer the left rear tire blew out while driving on the Interstate at 70 MPH. I was able to safely get the vehicle onto the shoulder. When I examined the tire, I noticed the sidewall had seperated from the tire tread. I'm an automobile mechanic and have seen this type of damage many times. It is caused from driving on a flat tire. I had not idea that I had a flat tire, the ride, stability and handling of the vehicle did not give any indication of a flat. To cause the sidewall to seperate, I had probably driven several miles with the tire flat. It handled so well in this situation that I feel very safe driving it.

Have only had this car for 3 months, and I'm more than ready to get rid of it. Can't stand the hideous gas mileage I'm getting (13.5mpg). And the obnoxiously loud "ding ding ding" of the interior alert. I was told that when the "fuel low" alert turned on, it meant I had about 40 miles left. It ended up being more like 10 miles-which left me stranded on the highway in the rain! Think this is the last American car I'll buy, most definitely the last Chevy.

I stopped buying Chevys a few years ago.. Decided to give them another chance. I love the TrailBlazer! A great vehicle at a great price. Can't go wrong! More comfortable and faster than my Grand Cherokee Lerado. (4.0L) The ride is near perfect, not like a Cadillac but not as stiff as a pick-up. Just right for an SUV! Now my wife wants one.. The EXT for the third row seats for the kids... I'll trade that minivan for another Trailblazer in a minute!

After test driving four other vehicles, the Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT was the best drive. We test drove the following 2005 SUVs: The Montero sport - very top heavy and felt like it would tip over if turned too fast, Ford Explorer - very cheap looking in the interior and not a smooth ride, heard some rattling in the front end, Nissan Pathfinder - drove like a truck, interior seats were very cheap looking and also the access to the third row was not easy, Mercury Mountaineer - pretty nice except for the roominess inside felt very tight. The minute we drove the Trailblazer, we knew it was the one. It drives beautifully and is such a pleasure to drive!

Traveling down the road in an all- wheel drive Honda Pilot, I was amazed at how poorly it handled in 6 inches of snow. After I got stuck on a hill, I put the Pilot in low gear, pushed a button to lock the rear differential, and again I amazed. But this time it was how easily the Pilot freed itself and was able to move down the road. Living in the mountains of Colorado, this little test proved that I needed something better than all-wheel drive. One of the things that sold me on the 2006 Chevy Trailblazer was its automatic locking rear differential.

I traded a 2005 Subaru Outback with turbocharger for my 2006 Trailblazer. Although the Chevy doesn't "scoot" like the Subaru, it has a decidedly heavier and more solid feel to it. While the Subaru had more of a "dinky" feel, the Trailblazer inspires confidence, and performs more than adequately, while still producing reasonable fuel economy. It has the room I need, with a comfortabable ride (not like a truck) which my wife loves. Leather seats are of a much more comfortable size and design than the Subaru. This is a strong, well- put-together vehicle.

It is a nice SUV at a competitive price that offers average commodities and comfort. But as all other SUVs it looks the same as all others and the interior is mostly plastic with very little luxury beside a little chrome around the interior. My Trailblazer is supposed to seat 7 passengers, but I wonder where they get 5 people that can actually seat comfortable in the back seat. The Vortec 4200 six-cylinder engine is surprisingly responsive and delivers enough power to pull a good size trailer and boat. The transmision shift smoothly and the Automatic Allwheel drive is a great feature.

I own a 2002 Z28 Camaro & the Trailblazer SS comes very close to feeling like a muscle car wrapped in an SUV. I bought the SS because I wanted something that was fast but could handle in the snow & was more of a day to day vehicle (shopping etc.), this SUV fits the bill. It handles like a sports sedan and sticks to curves like glue, not at all what I expected for a truck after driving a Camaro. The suspension is firm but not stiff & the ride is smooth. Acceleration is top notch for something weighing 6,000lbs. I clocked 0-60 at 5.9 secs. The LS2 at 395HP/400LB is a great match. It also brakes very well. The interior is nice with leather & the driver info center is helpful. Great job Chevy.

Very comfortable ride. Very noticable exterior noise, low gas mileage (don't believe the sticker MPG for city and highway). I get 12-16 MPG. I should have spent the extra grand and got the EXT version. Not much truck room for visits to the grocery or building supply store and carrying young family of 4. GM should consider developing a plug on your stereo for your cellphone to be used with your radio speakers.

If you don't drive a lot of miles, the low MPG won't make too much difference. (This was actually cheaper for me to lease than a less expensive vehicle because of special GM rebates, even with the high gas prices.) Comfortable ride and lots of options and cool little features with the Info Center! The wind noise is noticeable, but the nice sound system will make you forget about it. Drives more like a car than a truck. Has lots of room for people and stuff. The dash controls have more knobs than buttons, so you can turn to your choice directly, instead of pushing a button 10 times to get there. Subtle, but nice. Overall, a great car/truck.

Driving my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer LS is like going from night to day , comparing driving the vehicles iIve had in the past . There's hardly any if any road noise , a quiet engine , powerful 275 horsepower straight 6 engine . Showed my truck to co-workers and they were amazed on how Chevy has the inline 6 again and so was I . And with OnStar was a huge plus I will have that option when it expires in 2006 . It comes one year free , with also 30 minutes of phone useage also . It's very fun to drive and can accelerate quickly when needed . Down side even though you get use to it , it has a feeling of as if you're on a boat sometimes . That's my only complaint and also the gas mileage .
