I bought my Colorado used with only 48K miles on the OD. I've doubled that and it still runs like a top. I'll admit I was a bit of a skeptic but saw some positive reviews and I'm glad I took the chance. The inline 5 is a great engine, though not overly powerful it suits my needs perfectly. The crew cab has lots of comfortable space. So far (knock on wood) I've only performed regular maintenance and it hasn't required any repair needs. I keep the brake pads changed perhaps a little more often than normal as I was told new rotor replacements will be big bucks. They weren't designed to be changed easily.

I have 2006 cheve colorado pick up,it failed several time smog test,i spent a lot of money to the local mechanics for diagnose,it came as internal leak, missfiring.it was a major manufacture deffect but Cheve never send me any letter to infor for any recall, finally when i took to dealer they told me there is a memo that this model has a deffect, they have to open all engine to fix the problem..i was shocked WHY CHEVE DID NOT INFORMED ME AND OTHERS CUSTMERS AND WERE CHEATING.ITS SHAME FOR CHEVE AND THEIR MANAGEMANT..WILL NEVER TRUST CHEVE AGAIN.

I bought this truck used and was kinda hesitant about it's performance. After driving for awhile I was really impressed. Drove it 360 miles in one weekend and got great gas mileage. Estimated about 27 mpg with a load of furniture on the back. Sure it gets more without furniture. Loved the handling of it through Altanta traffic. Would recommend it to anyone interested in a mid - size truck.

I have owned my truck since new and have put over 100K miles on her, now and have never experienced a single issue. I do regular maintenance and she is the most dependable vehicle I've ever owned.

This I5 engine is terrible. It runs like a 4 cylinder and burns gas like a 6 cylinder. The truck itself is generally comfortable and somewhat stylish, but it really needed a better engine and something that could get mileage closer to the estimate on the sticker. I've owned since it was new and I've actually had no major problems, but I'm tired of fighting the fuel bills and the lack of power.

I have now had the Colorado for 4 years and 26,000 miles. I have had no problems with this truck; my complaints are more related to design and engineering. This truck has a lot of little flaws that I believe could have been worked out by engineers with a little attention to details. For example: You can't put down the driver's sun visor without moving the rear view mirror. Then you need to adjust it back. Please! Also, when it's very cold (I'm in Colorado) the windows don't work properly or don't work at all until the interior warms up. Once again, what's all this testing I hear they do to vehicles. There's much more, but too little space.

Around 2500 mile i had loss of power. And then around 16,000 mile timing chain and gears were replaced. And then around 18,000 mile the oil pump went out which caused the engine to go out. now it has been in the shop for about 8 weeks and GENERAL MOTORS says its not there problem because it is 2010 now even though problems started under there factory warranty. it has been a nightmare. i have always liked gm up till now, it wont happen again.

Owned for a year. Previous owner took care of the truck and kept it clean and serviced. I am doing the same. It runs well and am impressed by the quality of engineering. The ride is excellent, especially for a truck. As long as I keep it serviced on time I have seen no indication of any service issues either in person or in the internet.

I have had the truck a couple of weeks. I had to take into the shop after having it for 1 week. It ended up need a new head cylinder that Chevy paid for. Other than that the truck is great. It does everything that you need to do for around a house. If you want something that will towing a lot then get a full size. If you are not going to tow get this truck!

We bought this used with 14,000 miles on it, its the 5 cyl and we really like it. No problems, good pickup with enough power. easy to handle and good in snow. Now have 52,000 miles and have had no problems mechanically at all. don't like the seats with headrests when back seat is in use. other than that fine.

I purchased my colorado in Sept 2006. I have had nothing but problems. First there was a recall for a brake light switch, then at 47000 miles I had to replace the camshaft actuator ($98). Then at 59000 miles I had to replace the vent valve and ignition switch, that was another $458. I just took it back to GM because of rough idle and found out the cylinder head needs replaced (62000 miles). The mechanic told me GM will cover the cost, which will be close to $3000.00. GM will not recall the trucks for this problem, they will only fix it IF you have the problem and it happens before 100,000 miles. Needless to say this truck has been trouble since day 1.

Purchased this truck a year ago. Have used it for city driving, long trips, and off roading. I have enjoyed it for all of them. The 3.5L is a little weak but not bad. Driving 65 on the interstate yields about 24mpg, 21mpg @ 75mph. We purchased this truck because it seemed like the best deal for a small 4-door 4x4 truck. We needed the back seat for an infant car seat. It has been a great truck so far with no problems. It even hauls more than I thought it would.

Use the truck for 154 mile RT daily commute and occasional hauling/trailering. Over 115K so far. Engine power seems low but it pulls and hauls well. Man trans has annoying grinding when going into 3rd gear. Lousy seat back tilt lever ergonomics: pull lever forward to tilt the seat back forward requires two hands, makes it hard to put things behind the seat. Put your stuff on the ground, move seat, pick stuff up, put behind seat ARRGH! What's worst, my left front spring has sagged and the replacement parts are only available from the dealer at a cost of $600. Lack of aftermarket really upsets me. I was a 17 year GM engineer. I will think long and hard before I will buy another GM vehicle.

This thing stinks. The the squeals loud when you make a left turn. (It's been serviced 4 times for this, Problem still Unknown) The lights on the stereo have gone out...twice. The A/C SWITCH has gone out twice, only 4 works. I am so frustrated with it. I have had enough and want my money back. The ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS scare me and I worry that I may be stuck on the side of the road with my baby boy. The inline 5 engine is crappy.

I've taken many road trips in my truck. It is a 5 speed manual and has gotten up to 31.25 miles per gallon on the highway. I get 21 miles per gallon in town. The power isn't too bad with the manual transmission either. All in all, I would say it's a pretty sweet truck.

I have the 4wd work truck and bought it new and have not had any mechanical problems except that sometimes it wont start on first turn off the key and the check engine light comes on periodically though the gas mileage is slightly less than advertised and it is hard to park in a tight space due to it having a 40 foot turning radius

The truck is great...when it is not in the shop for service. Little things that should NOT be problems on a truck this age - with this little mileage and that is this well-maintained - occur over and over again. And the "fix" doesn't always stay fixed. So we have had too many visits to service, and too many repeat issues. The service people are always very pleasant and willing to help. But my guess is that something about the products is sub-standard. It is very frustrating to have to take it in and do without it so often.

I'm not happy with Colorado at all. The mpg is far less than rated. I could drive a full size pickup and get the same. Small inside, the back speakers quit working, the ac fan works sometime, plastic inside falling apart, seat belt falling apart. The screws fell out. I think the seat is going next. No power, I have 40k miles on it .

I bought this truck new. It is a Z71 with almost all options including the rare sunroof on a regular cab. This truck has had constant issues. Most of them have been fit and finish. A lot of rattles and the interior is poor. I will live with the truck until getting positive equity and trade it for a Toyota or Ford.

Many problems and issues with quality. I bought my truck 6/08 for the 4th of July sale at 0% interest. What a bad decision. I had the truck for about 5 months the valves in the engine bent so I had to drive a rental for 2 weeks. Payload is average but leaf springs are extremely weak. Anything more than 200 lbs and it will be sagging. The sheet metal is very thin and vibrates a lot. Especially the brake dust shield. Every time I brake, the floor boards vibrate and there’s a rattle from the front of the truck. My truck is a 5 speed so when I push in the clutch to come to a stop the rpm drops to 500 and the whole truck vibrates. Need more room to list problems. Just buy a Tacoma!

I was originally going to by an S10, but I took the Colorado for a test drive and I was sold. Since then, I've been very happy with it. I've got the 4cyl, but I had no problem hauling a full bed and a full 5x10 trailer all the way up the east coast. The fuel economy is also very good I average between 25 and 26 mpg, and that's with about a 50/50 mix of city/highway driving. I've put this little truck through a lot of heavy duty work, and it's held up very well. I have the base model so the interior quality isn't that great, but the seats are reasonably comfortable and the driving position is fine. The shifting is pretty smooth for a manual truck transmission.

I bought my truck new and have driven it for 20k miles. Fuel economy could be better but it's as good or better than any other small 4x4 pickup (24 highway and 21 in town). The truck has a cushy ride, functional interior and the engine performance is adequate. I haul lumber, firewood, dirt, stone etc. and it's holding up quite well. There was a cylinder head problem with the I4 and I5 in model years 04-06 which I understand has since been resolved. GM replaced the cylinder head on my truck at 7k miles. I've had no trouble with it since and GM agreed to extend the warranty on the head work after I complained. So far I'm satisfied with my Colorado and would certainly consider GM again.

The truck has done its job. It not the most refined truck out there but it was inexpensive to buy. A previous review said the truck had problems with brakes locking up after a recall repair was performed at the dealership, and blamed GM for his problems. The same thing happened to me, got half way home and noticed the brakes were overheating. The tech that installed the new parts didn't properly adjust switches to accommodate brake pedal travel and they were dragging. It was an easy fix and the brakes are fine. He also complained about fuel economy. Well, if your brakes are dragging your fuel economy isn't going to be all that good. The check engine light in mine comes on regularly.

I love my truck!

When I was looking for a basic small regular cab, I4, 5 speed 4x4, I would have bought a Toyota, Nissian, or Ford (anything but a Dodge). Every one I looked at could not compare to the price of the Colorado.I was suprised with the standard options on it for the price,$13,000 with 24,000 miles. I haven't had any problems with it in the 6 months I've owned it. I'm very satified with it, for a basic truck you can't complain about fit and finish and power for this price. The 5 speed is an overdrive and when I drop it in 4th there is enough power to merge on the highway. If you want bigger, faster, better, more power, you're going to pay for it. I will keep this truck until it goes to the junkyard.

Okay so it runs great and it looks good but the traction stinks! I had a toyota 4-runner before this and it had better traction than this. My ABS fault comes on constantly which worries me a bit and my airbag light comes on freaquently too. When I bought it the rear transmission seal was broke but was fixed and covered by warrenty. Other than that I love it. It's just too light. I drive from MCB Quantico to Silver Spring every day and back for work and it gets pretty good gas mileage. Oh and my middle console squeaks a lot. It's quite annoying.

Body & engine tight and smooth, interior trim a little rough(headliner doesn't fit shugly). Seat-belt receptacle cover breaks easily). Five speed shifts out smoothly for 1-5,but often resists going into reverse. Impressive acceleration for a 4- cylinder. Decent gas mileage averaging about 22 with a 50/50 mix of city & highway going all-out...26 highway if I nurse it. Only maintenance in 48,000 miles has been oil, filters, & tires.

The truck overall is a good truck. It get great gas mileage. The fit and finish of the truck is my problem. It rattles, creeks and groans. I've had the truck since it was new and it sound like it's a old truck. The dash make noise and overall the truck just sounds old. Power is OK, but that's all. Not as good as a full size truck for the fit and finish

I bought a 2 wheel drive work truck, couldn't afford the 4 wheel or the fancy models, but i have been pleased with the performance. It handles the logging roads in Maine without a care. It has crossed small streams and handled rutted muddy roads without issue. I live on a mountain and with studded snow tires I have made it home in the worst no'r easters like it was a july day. The gas mileage is good. I average 23 day to day here in the foot hills of the Berkshires and get 25 plus on trips. The regular cab is wide enough and the seats are comfortable on long trips with plenty of leg room. It's not a rocket ship but it moves out well when you step on it.

I am a devoted Chevy supporter, but I wish I would have not purchased this GM product. I haven't had the truck 2 years and my transmission needs to be repaired (cost $2500). I can not begin to understand how the torque converter overheated causing the 2nd and 4th bands to lock up so it will not shift into gear (its an automatic). Since I have had the truck, it was not calibrated correctly to make a left hand u-turn, you have to back up and make 2 or 3 attempts to complete a left handed u-turn. I have had issues with the tailgate lock not unlocking. This is a poor product GM has come up with to replace the S-10. Gas mileage is horrible, I only get 18 mpg on the highway. There are just too many small trucks around today to have to settle for a Colorado. The actual mpg is far less than rated, the fit & finish trim work very poor, (loose and flimsy) and still priced around the better quality made trucks.

I owned the truck since May of 07, it has 9000 miles on it and it's been in the shop 3 times all fuel related. Had to run premium in it so it wouldn't spark knock under load. I also had valve clatter on cold start up lasted 10 sec. The first time I took the truck in when the engine light came on they said I wasn't running the right fuel. It seems the truck has to run on top tier fuel from kwicktrip so I started running top tier in the engine. Had trouble again took it back to the dealer they said the have to replace the cylinder head because the valves were bad. The idle also sticks around 2800 rpm once and a while. I'm getting rid of the truck in 2008 wouldnt buy one again.

It drives great, handles good, no major problems to date. Driver’s side strut was replaced at 17k miles. Loaded with dirt bike and gear, best mileage was 23 mpg. Usual mileage is 21-22 mpg, combined. It is smaller, lower to the ground, less equipped than my old Silverado (which I continue to miss). If you can live with a 4 cyl, this is a good little truck. It would be a great truck for a young person, who has yet to experience the grandeur of a loaded full size Silverado V8.

I wanted a truck that can be used for hauling stuff for the farm, but I did not want a large truck, and the Colorado has great power with the 5cyl. The gas mileage around town is about 20, haven't taken any long rides to see what hwy is. Have not had any problems in winter driving, but I have to say that I really don't care for the clunk you get shifting into 4wd at times.

I drove an 96 s10 for 10 years almost 300,000 miles it was a better truck. The Colorado is a litle bigger. Less gas mileage. No way it gets 27-35 highway. There is no armrest What engineer builds a 5 speed truck with no armrest? 2 Cheap General tires went at 15000 miles? I got the truck at 13500 +ttl. It's efficient but I dont know as much as my S10. The body panels are made really thin and theres not much cab space. It is a slow slug. It only moves when the pedal is to the floor hence the gas mileage

Very satisfied. Have had the truck for 34,000 mi. with little to no problems. Solid feel while maintaining decent comfort. Gas mileage is a little weak at 19 combined, but the overall driving experience is excellent. Good acceleration and braking, and overall fun to drive. A little jumpy on rough roads, but thats not uncommon with 4 wheel drives. Wish the bed was longer.

For my use this truck has worked out great. Have all the bells on a Z71. Have 10k on it with no probs. Went from my '96 GMC S-15 with 200k on it. I'm getting 21+ mpg on a mix of hiway/city. Not too bad compared to other makes (and it uses regular not prem. like some of the imports). The Z71 is a little tight and 'jiggly' but it is an off road model, probably should have gone with the z85 suspension. Seats are not too short (i.e., good leg support) and with the leather option you can set it up for max comfort. Plenty of front leg room (I'm 6'1). Good sound system.

I have owned this truck for almost 2 years an it is the best truck I have owned an I have owned several. The 5 cylinder engine gives you the right amount of power for the size of the truck. The MPG for a 4x4 truck is great I get 18 city an 27 highway you can not ask for any better. I use this truck for hunting an I have had it in some tight places an it has performed great. If you use the truck properly an not abuse it you will have no trouble I have 34000 mile an not trouble.

Soon after I submitted my first review on this forum my Colorado developed a cylinder head/valve train issue. It's going back to the dealer for a cylinder head/valve replacement next week. Apparently this has developed into a common problem for the I4 and I5 motors. The notion of having my engine torn apart this early on hasn't done much for my owner experience and to make things worse GM won't extend my drive warranty. For GM to continue to have these kinds of quality problems is very frustrating to me. I'd prefer to support the American manufacturers but I'm not sure I can afford to nor even want to anymore.

I really enjoy this truck. I wanted a small to midsize dependable truck. This was it. The other were too expensive and/or did not give the value for the money spent. Would be nice if it got better mileage, but I am not going to complain compared to others. I get about 17 in the city - 23 highway -which is pretty good. Excellent handling, good pickup. Drives smooth.

I drive my trucks until they die and in 25 years owned a Toyota a Nissan and now this '06 Chevy Colorado. All are/have been 4x4's. I can't say how the Chevy will compare with the others over time but after owning it for 8 months and putting just over 6k miles on it I'm not disappointed. I've had no mechanical trouble so far, fuel economy has been in the low twenties, sometimes slightly better, the Chevy engine outperforms the others and I must be one of the only people who likes the plastic interior (this is a truck after all not a luxury automobile). I would have preferred bucket seats, an exterior door lock on the pasenger side and a ,stronger body but overall so far I'm satisfied.

So far I have enjoyed this truck. I've got the I-5 and it is quite powerful, it handles well at high speeds and is comfortable to sit in. The interior is utilitarian which makes it a little bland but very functional with controls easy to use and find. I had a problem, with the engine eary on, but the dealer fixed it under warantee and it's been fine ever since. Overall, I am glad I bought the truck and I haven't experienced all of the problems and flaws that others seem to talk about.

This is a great truck. The 5 cylinder engine is silky smooth although the gas mileage could be better. The ride is firm but comfortable. Some extra lateral support in the seats would be good. I was amazed at how quiet it is inside-even at highway speeds. Outstanding leg room for driver and front seat passenger. Fit and finish is above average.

I use the heck out of my truck. It is an '06 with 53.5k miles on it. I have the I-5 crew cab 2wd and love it. I get approx 23 mpg each tank combined, and never have had a problem with it mechanically. If you want reliability and good gas mileage then this truck is great. If you are looking for something fun to drive, I wouldn't recommend this truck. It's nice just nothing special. The lumbar support knob is weak and cracked within 3 months of owning my truck. The CD player acts funny when it plays CD's (volume adjustment lags). This truck is tough though and has lots of power. My only regret is not getting a 4x4 but was limited by price.

This is the by far the cheapest truck I have owned. It shakes like crazy when you drive over 50 MPH. The suspension makes a horrible squeeking noise when you turn or use the brakes. For god sake the tailgate cables aren't even the same length. This truck has been in the shop 12 times for a number of problems and I only have 6000 miles on it. When I was truck shopping, I couldn't justify spending $28--30000, so I bought this truck. I would suggest doing some serious shopping around before you make the decision to save $2000. Think about every aspect before the purchase. PS there is a reason that GM is giving such good incentives to buy their vehicles. Maybe they aren't that good!

The truck runs great. I have only had my truck for 10 months now and I have drivein over 12,000 miles and no problems. I got it with 14 miles on it and the mpg leveled out at 20-21 in city with my driving (fast light take off, steady speed of 40-55mph, fast stop and go.) I nailed a curb at 45-50 mpg and only bent the rim. I have the most standard package avalible. My entire family has GM produts and the reliability is outstanding and 2 to none and one place over Dodge which I have owned. The Colorado is by far the best modern mid-sized truck for the money and investment. This is the 2nd best truck I have owned next to the '64 Chevy El Camino I have.

I now have 6,600 miles on this truck. It has been in the shop 21 times in those few miles. The brakes are soft and when pressed down in a medium braking situation, the brakes go down below the gas pedal. It has made for some pretty hairy stops. As far as the gas mileage is concerned, it is really bad. I would not reccomend this truck to anyone. It looks like Chevy copied Nissan and then threw it together. The center arm rest is so cheap that I am afraid that it is going to fall off if I put my arm on it.

This is a solid truck. It might not be the fastest, strongest or most powerful truck, but for the price it's the best. I don't use it for hauling around tons of stuff. It's perfect for the everyday moving of beds, dressers, tables, and all the big light stuff around the house. It's great. I really like the feel of this vehicle. I traded an '04 Silverado 2500HD for this Colorado. Although the trim /options package is a 3LT, it falls way short of the Siverado 3LT package with far fewer bells and whistles. The truck is fairly comfortable with a stiff chassis. The engine has plenty of power and pickup and at highway speed is pretty smooth. At idle there is some vibration. I have had a few problems with rattles inside the cab. When bringing it to the dealers attention the tech merely tied up the HVAC cables. This seemed to correct the rattles for a short while but they are back and worse at this writing. I haven't had the truck through a winter yet. We'll see!

This is my 4th small Chevy truck, and I think it's the best yet! It's got lots of interior room, and a good sized bed too. I was quite pleased that the base model comes with cruise control, tilt wheel, and a pretty good sounding AM/FM stereo. There is way too much noise from the A- pillars, window deflectors are needed! The base tires pick up every little pebble, then they "fly" when you end up on the freeway! warms up slow for a 4 cylinder.

Do you remember National Lampoon's Vacation? My truck looks like the family truckster. I traded in my Durango to get better gas mileage and that's what I am getting. As of yet no issues. She actually scoots along better then you think for a 4 banger. Although I miss having an armrest or console to throw my cell change or anything else. She's a little sloppy when you round a corner. Other then that, I work 7 days a week and put 450 miles on every week. Plus, she looks nice being victory red and street package. I am still surprised with this truck. Keep in mind one of my techs has a 2004 with 165,000 miles already he drives everyday and all day. Except for oil changes never skipped a beat.

Great looks, quiet ride. However, the front cupholders won't hold a 1 liter water bottle. The seats with base interior don't recline. Beware, there is no way to unlock the passenger door from the outside if you don't have the $500 power package because there is no lock cylinder on the passenger door! After a month of driving the '06 Colorado, I found many poorly installed parts. Mud flaps all uneven. Bed alligned improperly so one side sticks out farther. The seats are flabby, made from cardboard I think. The plastic wheel moldings coming loose so I can see the double sided tape. The tailgate lock will not unlock. The driver's seat has wrinkles in it and is not tight in the seat after only a month of use. I am sure I will find more as time goes on. I like the vehicle, I just wish GM would take more pride in the quality of their work. Maybe your average person would not notice these things, I just expect a new vehicle to be perfect. I do like the 6 cup holders and tool boxes. All 4 doors open wide on the extended cab.

This is a nice little truck. It has nearly perfect dimensions and there is a balance of performance and fuel economy. When pushed, the engine has a reassuring groan and sounds like a very strong engine. Seating is perfect for four and provides a pleasant ride. Steering is responsive and tight, not loose like the Silverado. At highway speeds the truck is stable and quite with a little more than average wind noise. The A/C is strong and the sound system is only average, the small speakers are taxed when larges amounts of bass are wanted. Driving at night is good on low beam with a nice wide beam. There is plenty of storage inside with a two tier center console (cd's below, small stuff on top)

I have hauled 10 foot boards with the tailgate up. I have never used the tailgate partially down. I have a folding cover on it. I am pretty happy with this cover however, I won't take the guard off the tailgate so it is not totally tight. I like the lock on the tailgate. The cover has 2 locks on it. I took the keys out of the cover and just lock the tailgate. If I want in, open tailgate and slide lever namually for top. good.

I really enjoy driving this truck. It sits higher than the S-10 I had previously, and the ride is much smoother. My only disappointment is locally I only average about 14 to 15 mpg. However, I average 22 mpg on the highway. The crew cab's back seat is great, providing comfortable seating for adults! The bed is shorter than my previous truck, but still large enough to haul 4 by 8 sheets of plywood with the tailgate set in the 57 degree position. I also love the locking tailgate, which is a great idea since the tailgate is also removeable.

This truck was compared to a Tacoma, Frontier and Dakota. While there are some features that are inferior to the aforementioned trucks (ie interior quality) the massive rebates and deals make the purchase of this truck the best bang for the buck. For city livers this truck provides more than enough utility and the interior is far rommier than ever expected (actually similar to our GX470!). I highly rec the Z71 package as it adds alot to the appearance and clearance.

I have not had a GM product for some time and I've heard what seem to be a lot of negative things about GM cars, but the Colorado seemed to meet my needs the best at this time, so I got it. It has about 5K miles on it now and I have to say the build quality is quite good and the gas mileage is great. I get 28 MPG on the road and 24 MPG in town with a bit of Highway driving. Mileage seems to be gettng better with additional miles. My previous trucks were a Nissan Frontier and Ford ranger. Both were good trucks, but this Chevy is better. I'd would recommend this truck for anyone that wants a small truck with good mileage and comfort. Get the 3.73 gears if you plan to get a 4 cyl.

Actually I own the 5 cyl. version. (not a listed option on this review). I'm enjoying the leg room and simple but user friendly controls. I considered the Silverado but didn't really need the big truck size or heavy expense at the pump. It's got the typical peppy GM engine/transmission and makes for a fun Sunday afternoon drive or ride to work. It has a surprising amount of back seat room for two adults. I'm getting 21.5 MPG combined city/highway driving. I've gotten a lot of compliments on the appearance of my cherry red Colorado.

Excellent all around truck

Traded in a Silverado for the Colorado. The Silverado had a much nicer interior and more hauling capacity as well as a nicer ride. But the Colorado looks great (got the red monochromatic package), and also got 4 wheel drive for the same price as my 2 wheel Silverado. Also gets much better gas mileage and has more room for the kids than the large pickup extended cabs. Just which Chevy has spent more on the interior materials.

This truck can achieve 30mpg combo C/Hwy

This is a good looking truck. I like how it's on the smaller side. This allows for better mileage. I drive about 25% CITY and 75% highway and was getting a combined mileage of about 26 mpg. I then added a bed cover and increased the tire pressure to 40psi and now get almost 30mpg combined city/hwy mileage driving gently. Not bad considering this is a pickup truck. I would guess the highway mileage by itself might be as high as 35mpg. The only negative thing I've experienced so far is that occasionally the idle sticks at about 2800rpm even after it's warmed up. I can remedy this by turning it off and restarting it. Overall I am very happy with it. Too soon to brag about it's reliability though.

Love my Colorado

fter 10,000 miles I performed a fuel economy test. I am getting 17.89 miles per gallon. I have installed a magnaflow exhaust system and am currently performing fuel mileage test after that. I am installing a AEM cold air intake system trying to get 20 to 21 mpg in the city. I love my truck and currently have 11,035 miles on it and no problems

I have owned this truck for a little over two months and it has been in the shop for 25% of the time. Three times to fix a rear seal leak. The last time I was bringing it in the leakage for the transmission fell off. All this started with 1800 miles on the truck.

I bought my truck a week ago, and have had some pleasent surprises and some letdowns. First I would strongly recommend the 3.5 5cyl. I couldnt imagine the performance of the 4. I came from a 6cyl s-10 and I must admit it takes getting used to. secondly the interior is sparse but much more room than I expected. I was very happy with the power in 4WD, they seem to have traded straight power for extreme torque. I felt much more confident off-road in this than I ever did in the s-10. All in all a decent truck but nothing to get excited about.

This truck does what you need it to do

I couldn't be happier with my truck. It has decent passing speed to get around annoying drivers. Plenty of horses for a 4 cyl 5 speed. Does better on fuel than I expected. I'm getting about 25 on the highway and about 16 in the city. The ride is sweet when you aren't taking it down dirt roads. There is plenty of room inside and comfortable seating, but if you want to lay the seat back and snooze, forget it! The seat wont even move. But if you want a truck that will do what you need it to do and not empty out your bank account or drink a lot of fuel, you gotta get this truck.

Could be better

Not quite the performance and reliability I was hoping for out of my truck. I've been to the dealer several times since buying it to reset the check engine light codes, and have a creaky suspension.

I love this truck. It's perfect for driving around town. I am getting at least 20.9 miles in the city and about 28 on the highway. This truck also has a lot of room in it. I'm 6'0 tall and have to move the seat up just to reach the pedals.

This truck is the honest to goodness daily driver. I have an '06 z71 4x4 automatic with factory locker rear diff. Replaced stock tires with 30x9.5x15 Wrangler silent armor tires. Off road trail fun is unbelievable. Truck in first gear engine idle will climb any hill muddy, rocky, or treachous breakover angle scenarios. Idle gives you enough power to do virtually anything reasonably so just keep on the brakes :) On street this truck is nimble and comfortable. Very svelte ride on or off road. No problems with hauling 1 ton trailer, its unnoticeable until 3 or 4 gear.

This vehicle is a perfect fit for parking and driving in NYC. There is plenty of room inside and also my vehicle came with a cover over the bed which keeps out rain and any harsh weather. The black color is eye catching and an attention grabber.
