We initially were excited about this vehicle. We are a family of 6, so an 8 passenger was a must. We bought this mini-van with 77,000 miles and thought it would be an upgrade from our 2005 Dodge Caravan. Within 6 months I had to replace the rack and pinion, and radiator. Within 12 months the passenger rear door would not open from the outside when below 40 degrees and the Air Conditioning compressor began to "rattle". Within 18 months the other rear door began to have problems. Now at 124,000 miles the shifter is loose and I am nervous that my wife and children are going to be stuck. The caravan had 180k miles with nothing done to it but brakes, struts/shocks, and a water pump.

I've owned my sienna since brand new, April 22 2005. It gets between 22 1/2 to 29 1/2 mpg. The casset player and right rear wheel bearing are the only things to go out in 110,000 miles. It's been a fabulous vehicle

We love our Sienna! After many multi-state road trips, endless street driving, and forays back and forth between the California desert and coast, our Sienna is still going strong! We are a family with five children, so believe me when I say, you cannot find a better family car than a Sienna. Forget about people trying to make a minivan seem "uncool." I have many friends with SUV'S, and none of their cars comes close as far as comfort, value and reliability goes. Our Sienna, (aptly named "Endurance"), is the best car I've ever had!

We got this van 4 years ago and it had 95K miles. It was the xle limited version with all the bells and whistles. Heated leather seats, rear ac controls, pull down built-in blinds, dvd player with separate head phones. Interior and exterior are great. We now have 180K miles and major mechanical has been very reliable on this van. No engine or transmission problems. I have been good at keeping up with the maintenance schedule- oil changes every 4k, timing belt & water pump done, tranny fluid change every year. Problems: expensive & multiple sliding door issues involving clostly motors and actuators going out. Radiator crack at 170K miles, rear coil spring break at 160k.

This has been a great van. Bought new in 6/2005 and has over 122,000 miles on it. Only problems were maintenance items: tires, brakes, batteries, timing belt, alignments. Runs just like it was new.

Reliable and Versatile.

The internet brings out all the strange reviewers: people claiming horrible experiences and people who use this forum to complain about the dealers instead of the actual product. I have had this car new since August 2005. As of this writing it now has 190,000 miles. There are hard Long lsland, NY miles. The radiator finally rotted out. Is this unreasonable? The lift gate shocks failed at around 150,000 miles. I ordered a pair online for well under $100.00 and installed them in 10 mins. Mileage is very good for a huge vehicle. I still get 18 mpg city and 22 or so on the highway. The exhaust system is still all original. Nothing leaks. No problems with the sliding doors so far.

Great van so far. Still afraid the will shoe to drop.

Bought second hand in Nov 2012. Owned 2 Chrysler vans before this one. Got this 05 sienna XLE with 97000 all prepped and ready to go. In Dec we went from PA to CA and back in comfort & had a great trip. Van didn't give so much as a hick-up. Got 21mpg average over all. But with 5 adults & lots of luggage I guess that's not bad even though I was hopping for better. just over a year now (mar 2014)with no major problems. Power doors acting up over winter but have learnt to deal with it. will cut cable and run manual if need be. now have 121000miles. Went in for 100000mile services and found cracked radiator. Ouch! If this is the worst that happens I'll still be happy with it.

So the engine, transmission and drive-line are still good to go after 145k but what about everything else? To replace the sparkplugs, the engine has to be dropped which is very expensive. We've had a sliding door fail on us and it cost over $2k to repair. The other door is now starting to make a very similar sound. The tires they recommend are from the Camry since the van frame is based off it but the vehicle weighs a lot more so you eat through them very quickly. The rear springs are undersized and loose their life very quickly. Still haven't found a beefed-up/stronger solution yet so the butt is dragging. The automatic doors take a lot of power so batteries are short lived.

Bought van brand new after bad Chrysler T&C. The first 3 years were great. Here is the laundry list of problems we have encountered, none unique to us: rear door not staying up - repaired b4 recall issued, tires wear extremely quickly even w/ regular rotation, radio does not respond to buttons correctly and often has no display or only partial digital display, gear shift clip broken so have to hold with one hand while removing keys from ignition when you park, manual side door handle broken-2X, gasket around windshield detached and dealer blamed on auto carwashes that I rarely used, side doors freeze shut every winter-in NASHVILLE!, auto door no longer works w/buttons - must start manually

I am really disappointed about the quality of 2005 Toyota Sienna. It has 112,000 miles and about 8 months ago things starts braking one at a time. Here are some of the issues I have uncounted. * Tries are rotated at every 5,000 miles and alignment at every 15,000 miles still Tires wear at an angle. * Cracks start appearing on the dash board, now cracks are expanded across entire dash board. * Power steering rack start leaking on the both ends and dealer wants $1,800 replace it * Rubbers hosing that holds antenna broken and other rubber items stats cracking * The glue that holds glass to the windows motor came off . * Tailgate struts broken rear door does not keep up.

I bought my 2005 Sienna used from a private party in 2007 with 40,000 miles and I have over 130,000 miles on it today. I put new Michelin tires from Sams Club on at 90,000 miles (rotate every 10K) and they still have over half of their tread life. I changed spark plugs and plug wires as well as the timing belt at 110,000 miles. That's it! I received a recall notice for the spare tire holder so had to bring to dealership. When I got my van back I was told I needed a new radiator ($800) and cabin air filter ($80). I brought the van back to my mechanic and he said the radiator was fine and took 2 minutes to change the cabin filter ($15). That was 15,000 miles ago!

I bought the 2005 Limited Sienna Van brand new. We have had to replace the tires every 23 to 26,000 miles. We have had the tires rotated, alligned and balanced as suggested. The tire manufactures cannot figure out why the tires will not last and have been replacing them free because they are not lasting until the warranty period is up. Firestone has given us 3 free sets of tires, Gateway gave us 1 free and 1 prorated. The local Toyota service manager told me that this is just the way the vans ride and it is normal????? BEWARE

We have owned this van 4 years now.....

Not a bad van by any means. We have grown very comfortable with it and can rely on it to get us were we need to be every time. When we first bought it (pre-owned) we had an intermittent problem with the front blower not working. In troubleshooting that it seemed as though the "techs" had torn into the problem and never located the culprit....The relay had a manufacturing defect; as did the rest of the identical ones in the van. After ordering replacement relays (From Japan and not Tennessee as were the factory ones) it has worked finer ever since. Sometimes it is worth it to buy parts that are built correctly !!!

Was in love, but now just in 'like'...

Loved this van when I bought it used in 2009. Spacious interior, reliable. Then it let me down. I opened the sliding passenger door and it wouldn't shut. Tried to override to manual...but no luck. Still wouldn't shut. Called Toyota, they filed a claim and provided a # then said management occassionally 'reviews'. But they could do nothing. Called dealership and they said they've never heard of such a thing. Went online and TONS of Sienna owners are dealing with the same issue. Apparently it is with the cable in the door. It either frays, jambs, or has other issues. Cutting the cable is a quick cheap solution and works! Now I carry a wire cutter for when the other door fails.

Stay away from 2005...

Bought my 2005 Toyota Sienna in June 2009, had it till May 2011. We started to notice a ticking noise coming from below the car, turns out the tranny was done, and we also found out later that week that the radiator was leaking! They wanted 4200$ to fix the darn thing! When we traded it in it for a new car, it turns out that 5 years earlier, the van had been in a 7000$ wreck which Guelph Toyota failed to disclose... I would never go Toyota again.

I love this van. I drove 2 dr sport cars before motherhood. I love cars, and this fits me as a woman who loves cars. As good as it gets, always comfortable driving long distance with no breakdown fears. I have drove nine days alone in Toyota models over the years with NO FEAR. I had power door replaced under warranty. Only real problem with 2005 model. I have learned to have general suggested belts, brakes, and other repairs done by local mechanic verse dealership to save on cost. Recently had the two belts for alternator and AC replaced due to loud squealing noise for two months. I believe this only happened because I moved into Mountain regions and ran the AC hard in the mountains.

Bought used with 92,000 miles; now has 101,000 miles and have loved every mile. Replaced a 2006 le that gave excellent service but I wanted to own one with all of the extra button spaces used so this xle limited awd has it all! Run flat tires were replaced with regular tires so I had to buy a spare but found a new one at a salvage yard for 100.00. Gas mileage has been about 24 mpg but the awd grip makes up for the 2 mpg less that the le. Have had no problems with anything and have taken three 1000 mile trips this summer. The only minor problem was a frozen bolt when I had the timing belt changed but the cost was minimal. It drives and rides superbly and makes long trips a pleasure.

We bought this car because my wife needed lots of room to haul around products for her business. It's great for long road trips: comfortable seats, cruise control, and telescoping steering wheel with well-designed controls, lots of cup-holders, and plenty of electrical sockets for technology gadgets. Maintenance-wise: changing the oil and replacing front brake pads are both quite easy. However, accessing the rear bank of spark plugs is almost impossible; dealer charges $400+ to change all 6 plugs. Replacing the air filter and rear wiper blade were a pain. Airflow over the windshield has a "whistling" sound. The paint on front chips away too easily. No "really big" repairs yet, though.

This vehicle has been a god-send to our family. We fill up the vehicle, and are too busy to mess with repairs. We purchased this vehicle with 68k and have doubled the mileage in 3 years with no issues at all. I have replace tires and oil only. Every thing works and works well. It is a pleasure to drive and the mileage for a van is great, consistently in the mid-20's- towing our pop-up I still get 18! Most of my extended family have owned GM or Chrysler products and I spent more up-front for my van, but in the long run saved money because of reliability.

Always thought Toyota was a great car, but I think their head started to swell, and the quality went down. The Marriage between Dunlop And Toyota should end in divorce. Not a good match. I have gone through 8 sets of tire before( lots of money), putting on bridge stones. The Tire light goes off and on with a mind of it's own and the sliding door will open by them self. Can't wait to get rid of it.

Sliding rear doors have been malfunctioning since purchased. Do not buy this model if you live in cold climates: the sliding doors freeze shut on a regular basis. Also one of the sliding doors malfunction and will not open at all (feels like the child lock is on even when it is off.) Other people with same problems can be found on edmunds.com under Toyota Sienna. Dealer wants $850.00 to fix. It really seems like a defective door yet they want consumer to cover the cost. In addition, don't ever try reaching Toyota on their 800 number unless you have time to spare. I was on hold 60 min before they picked up. Other times I hung up after 20 min. Not concerned for customer.

After my horror reliability experience with a '04 Nissan Quest minivan, I replaced it with a '05 Toyota Sienna. It's not trouble free but at least the fixes get fixed the first time UNLIKE Nissan. MINOR ISSUES: - crack in driver's side mirror - broken flip-out drawer below stereo - side-moulding came off due to a bad 2-sided tape MAJOR ISSUES: - Driver's door recalled due to bad weld - 4 yrs/65k miles, rack and pinion steering broke(my cost $1400) - 4 yrs/65k miles, the sliding door's hinge sagged (dealer wanted $1100 for just parts but I bought the $100 part and independent bodyshop replaced it for less) - interior light drains battery when doors left open so we keep lights off

Great comfort, decent performance are the strengths here. Fuel Economy is lacking. It is no better than a Durango with a v8 Hemi. Despite faithful 3k mile oil changes (every 5k when switched to synthetic at 30k) sludge managed to best our engine. Despite showing all maintenance receipts for 5 year history. Toyota insists it was our lack of maintenance that caused the sludge and refuses to honor the warranty. Never again will we buy Toyota.

Owned Sienna for 4+ years now. Only 120,000 kms on vehicle and both front and rear bearings simply worn out. Very expensive to replace, as both bearings and hubs replaced same time. ($ thousands). No help from Toyota to date, but I continue to ask. Tires were an issue, but they did replace under recall. All toyota AWD vans seem to chew the tires off their rims! We had AWD Previa before and same problem with tires. Power window fell off track and over $400.00 to replace. This is an extremely expensive van to buy, and maintain. Paid over 45,000 taxes in, and still forking out thousands to keep it on road after only 4 years. Most parts are only available through dealer.

From day one anything that could go wrong did. Replaced battery in 3 months, brakes and rotors at 28K miles, tires 30K, miles, door hinge broke, sliding door hinges rattled, seat belts locked up, struts and mounts replaced @ 60K, transmission and torque converter problems start at 45K, at 94K are terrible, still have extended warranty so of course Toyota can find nothing wrong with it. Have also replaced fuel speed sensor, rear air vent goes on and off by itself. Toyota won't fix that either. (guess I have to wait until the extended warranty is up) Windshield whistles??? Very, very, frustrating. Let's not forget replacing the spark plugs 35K miles too soon. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON AN EXTENDED WARRANTY!!!

Thought Toyota would stand behind their vehicles better. Have had on and off problems with the airbag sensors for 3 years, ultimately cost $3500 to resolve the bad wiring harness. Toyota National said too bad, you aren't in warranty and since this is your first Toyota, you are not brand loyal yet. Will go somewhere else on the next vehicle. Disappointed. Hard to believe in this economy they have too many customers and can show that level of disinterest.

Not only did the side sliders break, but now the driver's door hinges broke. Dealer advises that Toyota extended the warranty to 100K due to the problem. Glad the door didn't fall off on the freeway before they told us. Also the Rear lift somehow is tweaked. Now, all that for a car that has taken children to church, school, and me to work locally. Car never was in an accident. I am super easy on a car. So much for Toyota quality.

Off the lot, the rear AC did not work. Then the driver door was replaced as part of the recall (note that we had had problems with the door, but were told repeatedly that nothing was wrong). At 2 years with the Sienna, noted a clunking sound when turning. Toyota service department found no problem. Clunking persisted for the next 2 years. Now, have had to replace the rack ($1200). No more clunking, although service department states that the two were not related.

I have been ok with my mini van, but I would NOT recommend this van to a friend. First I had huge problems with the Run Flat tires- that Toyota eventually agreed to replace one set- after I had already paid for a set- then of course those wore out fast too- Now I'm stuck- even though I put on regular tires- I can't get a spare for less than $700!! Brakes also wear fast on AWD, very fast! Next HUGE problem both of my sliding back doors started sticking and giving me problems just two years after I bought it- Now neither will open and I'm being told it will cost 3,600 to fix- the car isn't even 5 years old yet AND one of the parts was just replaced 14 months ago, will it just break again?! Owned a Toyota tercel before for 5 years with NO problems & husband owned a Camry with no problems. Too bad I can't say the same for the Sienna.

Before purchasing our XLE Limited we had rented an LE for a 3 week road trip....that sold us...into a nightmare. Bought it for almost 40k, fully loaded. All of the features are nice however at 60K miles we are on our 4th AC system rebuild, 2nd center differential (first one locked up at 70mph on the freeway), 2nd drivers door (check strap broke, punch through the outer skin). In short we have had it for 4 years, and spent almost $7000 in REPAIRS (not maintenance like oil changes, tires, brakes, etc). Our case has been review by Toyota several times, and we have been told the situation is normal...both my other cars (Cadillacs) have 170k+, and have cost a lot less then this to keep running.

We have owned a Toyota van which we traded for a used Previa at 210,000 miles (my son still drives it) and finally this Sienna. This is our favorite van and we have taken several cross country trips as well as winters in Wisconsin. I have never felt safer in any car I've owned. We have not had any mechanical failures and enjoy great service support staff. This is our 8th Toyota vehicle and I can't see us buying any other make (except my Porsche of course).

I thought we needed an SUV with three kids. What I found was that my Sienna has everything an active family needs. Starting in the back. There is plenty of room for sports gear, backpacks and a trip to Costco. The seats are easy enough for me to put down or take out by myself. We've even fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood when a pick up was unavailable to borrow. With seating for 8, we purchased the 8th seat option, I never have to think twice about transporting the kids' friends. With hooks and pockets and drink holders, everybody has what they need at their fingertips.

Great job Toyota and I will be purchasing an 09 in the fall close out sales. My van is my office with as many miles that I drive. Signed, Toyota driver for life! Thank you.

The first two years of ownership of a 2005 Sienna CE were good, but in the last two months I had repair bills of $2000.00. Radiator leaked/replaced. Power steering rack and steering shaft needed to be replaced. The response from headquarters was, too bad, your warranty is over. Right now I am looking to try something else, maybe even a Dodge Caravan. In this tight market out there I was just surprised by the lack of interest to make me a happy owner of a Toyota product.

We purchased our Sienna from the dealership, but the dealer drove it first, it was a used car. It was spotless, nice, we thought a step up from our 99 Odyssey. The car has mechanically been OK, we now have just over 50,000 miles. Our biggest problem is with plastic bits. The interior rattles constantly, and has since just after we bought it. The weather stripping broke on one sliding door (wind noise), on the other it actually fell off (hanging like a rope). Even with 100K mile warranty, the dealer considers this "trim" and will not fix. They were quite nasty about it, too, accused us of trying to steal from them, we should be happy to pay.

Love this van for the comfort, and space! We have had it in for repair/maintenance on the automatic slider doors several times, the front driver side door broke at the hinge and needed to be totally replaced. This was in the first year that we owned it. We have wanted to give it back, but despite all of the trouble with the doors we love the comfort and space.

My wife & I owned a 2001 Sienna (older style) and really liked it; however it had 2 bench seats and we already had 1 child and now a set of twins on the way! We bought the 05 model and haven't looked back. We love the fold down seats! There's lots of storage in the rear and the car has plenty of power even when loaded with 3 kids and 4 adults. On one particular road trip with just th 5 of us I calculated an average of 29 MPG. Around town it is usually only about 20 MPG. Can't beat it for the money, it rides great, and has good safety ratings. We look forward to seeing how long we can hold on to this one!

This minivan is all about quality and comfort. We have two friends that bought Hondas the same year we bought this van and they are having issues with rattles and noises in the cabin. We bought this van new and have put 30K on it but have not had any issues with this van, and am very happy we purchased it. It is an extremely smooth ride, and has plenty of power to boot. Short and long trips are a breeze. If there is any downfall to this van it would be road noise, everything in this van has the quality of a Lexus but the noise from the road could be better.

We purchased our Sienna CE in June of '05 and have logged 24K miles absolutely trouble-free. Transitioned from a Pontiac Transport, a disaster of a mini-van. The Sienna is quiet on the road, smooth to drive, has solid pick-up, Toyota reliability, and a great buy for the money. We are surprised that it is not cited as "best buy" for '05 vehicles! I would not hesitate to buy another!!

Loved our 2005 Toyota from the beginning, but even more so after a side impact crash. We don't have side airbags. We were hit by a pickup truck going 30mph. Hit was mainly to sliding passenger door. This vehicle held together like you wouldn't believe! There were 2 of us in the front seats, but we only received seatbelt bruises.

I grew up as a Toyota person and my first car was a Toyota Supra, then Celica GT, then another Celica GT. Now I have a Sienna with every option possible and unbenounced to me, I have lived the past two years as the most frustrated person owning a vehicle. The warranty support by Toyota is poor at best when comparing to Honda...thus the need for extensive warranty in the first 24 months speaks to itself. Never say never...but my intent is to rid myself of this Toyota and never own another Toyota product.

My Sienna ran fine for first 36,000 miles. The next 20,000 miles have had numerous failures: 1) Fuel injector - $383; 2) Catalytic converter - warranty $0; 3) Fuel hose disconnect - $105 leaving me stranded 20 miles from Cody, WY; 4) Driver's door check strap $380 - the door can fold back against the fender making closure impossible! I wrote and contacted Toyota Customer Service. They initially refused to do anything, taking no responsibility. After I wrote Seiichi Sudo, President and CEO, suddenly they wanted to "help" with a $600 good faith payment on nearly $900 of repairs. I now find the door check strap cannot be re-welded and door must be replaced, a $2000 repair! Stay away!

A couple of years ago, we had to retire our 88 Camry with 450,000 km on it and the engine was still in OK shape!. We have gone back to more luxurious camping and like our eureka tent and Bring your own bed, we brought a Sienna. I have 50,000 km on it and can you believe it; not one thing has gone wrong; I mean nothing. On a trip through the rockies and on to the west coast, this van not only gave us pretty good mileage but never once experienced any difficulty with climbing those mountains. Driving the double lane Coquihalla, we were able to keep it at 120km per hour without any difficulty.

The Toyota is head and shoulders better than previous Venture and Caravan minivans. It rides better and is much quieter. The AWD works great and combined with the ABS and stability control it is nearly impossible to lose control or even spin a tire. There is plenty of room for 7 passengers and the rear seats fold easily into the floor giving a flat cargo area. While the Sienna comes in only one size, it is equal to the Grand or extended models from the competion. The only negatives are the run flat tires that wear very fast & are very expensive and poor gas mileage (17 MPG average).

The only difficult choice was what color. The Sienna is perfect for the little ones and great for pulling our 18' ski boat. We have owned it for 15 months. It is such a great van. We have even hauled 4x8 sheets of plywood with the back door shut. The only service we need to do is change the oil and wash it every now and then. I had to suck up a lot of pride to go into a minivan, yet find myself sneaking the keys away from my wife and leaving her my Lincoln LSV8. As soon as I send this I must go out and pop the hood to look at the engine of the Sienna, I truly have never seen it!!

Like an edmunds.com editor aptly said - the lexus of Minvians. This Van drives like a dream. Even after owning it for more than a year, I still sometimes can't be sure if the engine is on - Silky smooth. I have owned this van now for a year and half and found it to be a great van. Interior seating provides enough room for a 6'3 person to sit comfortable in any row and yes that means the third row also. Everyone that rides always says how quiet and smooth riding it is. I forget I am driving a minivan because it feels just like any midsize or large size car. Long trips are no problem with luggage. Gas mileage has blown me away. One trip we recorded 30 mpg on the highway. WOW. Just recently we got 32 mpg going up to Ohio from GA. Those trips the van had three people and lots of luggage. We have been getting about 19 around town.

We've driven our Sienna XLE AWD van for 17,000 miles. The van itself is a great design. The all wheel drive works perfectly in the snow. Toyota's decision to eliminate the spare tire and use run-flat tires was a major mistake. At 16,000 miles I had to spend $500 to replace two tires. The other two aren't far behind. The run- flat tires make the van ride like a truck, are un-reliable, over-priced, impossible to find, and and short lived.

The van has been nice for our family of four. It is very nice on road trips so the kids can spread out. We bought the LE model and now I'm wondering if the XLE would have been better since it has leather and the power rear gate. Our average mileage has been 20mpg. Not as high as the sticker, but are they ever? This is our first Toyota and we expect high quality due to their reputation. We're disappointed with quality issues we've had with sliding door noise and design of radio is the pits. In sunshine the radio display can be impossible to read.

Road noise due to poor door seals. Sliding doors rollers noisy due to grit accumulation on rollers (dealer suggest cleaning often-I suggest better sealing of door). Does not provide enough heat below 0 deg. f and cooling above 70 deg.f. (dealer says to let car idle longer to warm-up and to turn fan off at startup????) No traction on snow, ice, loose sand. Not enough towing capacity, tranny downshifts too easily. Cheap tires! No after market roof rack available, after market hitch too low causing bumping on curbs.

After purchasing though, we found 2 major problems. 1st the battery is not capable of running all of the computer components such as the door open sensor, and still have enough charge to start the car. In the first month we jumped it at least 15 times. Can't leave door open for more than 20 min. or open several times. Service dept. says battery tests fine! 2nd. after 4000 miles we have never gotten better than 16.7 in the best conditions. Averaging less than 15.9. This van is excellent, I was recently in an accident on I-99 in Sacramento area, and I was side swiped while changing lanes and I hit part of the guardrail as I tried to dodge most of the car that hit me! Well, anyways it was me, my wife, and our 9-year-old daughter! All 3 rows of airbags deployed and so did the front and side airbags up front! I had minor bruises from airbag, but I rather have that than be dead! My wife and daughter didn’t have a single scratch! By the way I was going around 60 mph on the freeway at the time! This van has excellent safety features, good fuel economy, very brisk acceleration, ride comfort, and built quality! I did get another Sienna. It is the 06'!

Toyota builds a fine van but it is a bit pricy and gets lousy fuel mileage. My main complaint is the run-flat tires on the AWD models. They are garbage. No one carries replacemants and they do NOT take the place of a spare. I got a flat on a major interstate and had to get my van towed because Toyota provides no spare on AWD models. It was a very expensive lesson.

The '04 Sienna is a great minivan with plenty of space, (Third row should only be used by small children.) great interior build quality which exeeds every other minivan and looks that aren't too shabby for a minivan. Our Sienna has had no problems excluding a flat tire because of a nail on the road and one time someone keyed our car. No mechanical problems at all. After 28000 mile's it has averaged 18.3 MPG overall (mostly highway), has had one set of new tires and already show's 40% wear on second set !! When released, this minivan was head and shoulders above the rest in every way. However, with Nissan, Honda, and soon Kia coming out with complete redesigns, they have almost matched many of Sienna's first place features like 60/40 split 3 row fold in the floor (Kia, Honda, Chrysler) 2nd row power windows (Mazda, Honda, Kia),rear view camera (Honda), front/rear sonar (Mercury, Honda). One of the only features completely unique to Sienna now is Digital Laser Cruise & AWD. However those are two BIG items, especially the AWD. MN has cold, snowy, icy winters, AWD is a must. That and Toyota's better than ANYONE, EVER's reliability made it a clear top choice. It's economical, reliable, and loaded!

Only problem I have was that the power liftgate failed to close/open after a week use, I didn't see this prob in other reviews so I guess I was just unfortunate on that part, but my Toyota dealer got it fixed now. Overall performance is Excellent. If I'm going to turn back time and buy a Van... I will still choose a Sienna.

This van saved my life. I was recently involved in an accident that totaled the car. Designed safety features kept the driver/front passenger area from caving in on me. My worst injury was a broken wrist requiring surgery. My infant son did not have a scratch. The fireman said I was lucky to be alive. The whole front end of the car was sitting on the ground. All windows shattered but never fell inside the vehicle, per design. I highly recommend this vehicle for safety alone! That said, the car is luxurious and less "minivan Like." We have replaced it with a 2006.

After owning a Grand Caravan for so many years, this van is a huge leap forward. The Sienna packs a lot of value into a package that doesn't cost that much more than the Caravan. The Sienna has noticebly better desinged and built interior and exterior. The seating is very comfortable and spacious, but the legroom in the third row is a little tight. The six-speaker audio system is excellent, with stunning clarity and a plethora of bass. The ride and handling are also leagues ahead of the Caravan. The stiff unibody construction and finely tuned IRS allows the van to manuever easily with little roll and under- steer. Overall we are pleased with our Sienna because of it's value and quality.

Our Toyota Sienna has been nearly perfect. There are a few things that annoy. Locking out the passenger windows also means the driver can't use them. There is not retained power so if you stop for minute you loose all power including radio and DVD. Maybe not a big deal but when the kids movie has to be started all over again it's a pain. The engine power is great and it is very comfortable inside. You will never run out of room inside.

We've read in multiple publications how the Sienna could pass for a Lexus. We drove one that indeed drove and handled like a Lexus. At another dealership, the Sienna (same pkg, trim level) drove like my 93 Geo. Beware... be sure to test drive the one you're buying! As for the car itself, the ride is a pleasure, accelerates without effort, and the flexibility in arranging the 8 seats is great.

This is the first Toyota I've owned, and it won't be the last. The Sienna is far superior to the other (domestic) minivans I've driven. Handling, interior "fit and finish", exterior appearance are all excellent. Very smooth ride. Great storage capacity in the cabin - there are 4 storage bins of varying size in the front seat alone, in addition to the glove box. Very solid vehicle. Dual sliding doors are incredibly convenient when adults are riding in the back. Even rear seating is comfortable. Safety features are abundant. Definitely not the choice if budget is your first consideration, especially in the XLE and XLE Limited. It's worth every penny, however. Overall, GREAT vehicle.

We've owned Town and Country Minivans and an Honda Odsy. This Toyota is the most luxurious by far, very quiet and smooth riding. Fuel economy is not great, 16 mpg average over 22,000 miles. Visibility is very good, storage is awesome. Laser cruise control is really nice, rear camera is tops. Thoughtful interior touches are everywhere and, the quality of materials is as good as it gets.

I've owned three Lincolns and they don't compare to the Sienna. Mileage is great... just got back from a 7,230 trip and couldn't have asked any more from a vehicle... rode great, good mileage, avg almost 25 mpg for the whole trip. Traveled from NC to the west coast and back with numerous stops in between. One reason why the trip was so great was the ride was great. I give my Toyota a solid 9.75. Reason for no 10 is thatI honestly thought I'd do a little better on the gas mileage.

Mine is a 2004 bought just before 2005s came out. Has everything, navigation, DVD, you name it. Have owned it over a year, about 25000 miles, not a single problem except minor hesitation due to computerized accelerator instead of cable. I also have a brand new Lexus RX 330, and I actually like the Toyota better. Great for running around town or for long trips. Friends are always impressed with the ride, comfort, features. I'm spoiled, though. No other car I've seen has everything this car has -- and it has space and versatility!! I hope this one never goes away. I get decent (not great) mileage, have had it in heavy snow. The AWD performs almost as well as my Land Rover. Great car!

I researched vans for 3 months before deciding on the Toyota and the features I wanted. Although there are a few things I don't like, I know I would not be happy with any other van. I narrowed my choices to the Honda and Toyota and test drove each 3 times. Went straight from the Honda dealer to the Toyota dealer so that there was minimal time in between drives to compare. Toyota offers a quieter, smoother and more comfortable ride than Honda. If you're used to heated seats, you're in for quite a disappointment. My van has 7000 miles, the seat cushions have already been replaced and you can not feel the heat at all unless bare skin is touching the leather. Then it just luke warm.

I had a fully loaded Lincoln Navigator before. My 2 and 4 year old were always hitting other cars with their door or could not close them. I wanted something with the same features but more kid friendly. The Toyota Sienna Limited had more. The kids love it. I love it, and it is actually lighter than the navigator so it travels faster!

I was a Tahoe holdout, until the kids started school. I drove everything and nothing compared to the luxury of the Sienna. Comfortable seats- plus Stow and Go! I love the clever features inside-compartments everywhere. They thought of everything to make driving a family around a breeze. Tons of compartments- I love not hearing the video while the kids watch. The power doors/hatch are great- no more kids hitting their heads on the doors. 2nd row windows that roll down are awesome. I could not be happier and now I don't know why I waited so long because the convenience of driving this van far outweighs any "I'm never driving a van- SUV holdout" feelings! It is a fantastic vehicle.

Nice van...drives like a car. It's smooth and acceleration is adequate. Plenty of leg room even in the 3rd row passenger seat. Accessories are conveniently located. Lots of cup holders and smalll auxillary storages. Haven't had the chance to feel the AWD drive...hoping it matches our expectation during inclement weather. So far, we haven't reached the average 20-22mpg that the dealership advertises. The message center rates our trip at an average of 14mpg. But overall, we're very pleased!

This is our first endeavour into the minivan world. As BMW and Subaru drivers, this was a new experience for us. Suprisingly, we love to drive it! It drives like the car and there are many more comfort features than in the BMW. During our first week, we put it through the paces with a 300 mile trip to our vacation. MPG was awesome at 26 MPG. Navigating through the cabin to take care of our son was a breeze. The seats fold down/up so quickly, it is extremely useful. And the ride, no matter where you are sitting is extremely comfortable. We made the right decision with this vehicle.

Interior gages and finish is top notch. Drive noise is much quieter than the Honda odyssey. Looking for a minivan, make sure and look at these. We just returned from a 500 mile trip with two small kids. There was tons of flexibility and average gas mileage for mostly highway driving was 25 mpg. I cannot begin to compliment Toyota for thinking of so many little things to make the car more comfortable. We upgraded from a sedan and it will be worth the small drop in mileage to have the space and flexibility.

I never thought I would be caught dead in a minivan. I was wrong, this minivan hits home. We tested other SUV's and wagons (no other minivans) and none of them came close to the space utlization or refinment that the Sienna had. Ultimatly the decision came down to the Volvo XC70 or this. My mother had to choose one without testdriving it (my father did that with me)because we neede to jump on the deal. She chose the Sienna becase of the space and toyota reliability. If you are in the maket for a comfortable, reliable vehicle the Sienna is a phenomenal choice.

I drove it brand new off the lot, just to take it back the next day. The AWD has serious vibrations at 30-38 MPH & in general doesn't ride smooth. The dealership says this is "Normal." It shakes bad enough that the dvd screen rattles at highway speeds (lots of squeaking too). I drive 70 miles a day to work - long distant driving. After 2000 miles the electronic gauge says I get 16.4 miles per gallon. It advertises 19-24. My husband's GMC Yukon XL gets 17 mp gallon. The van is beautiful, but functionally doesn't live up to Toyota's hype. Don't buy it. One more thing - there is no place for a spare. AWD models comes with very expensive run flat tires. you cant change to regular tires

The 05 Sienna we have is a great vehicle. Lots of room, quiet, good looking and lots of power for a mini van. I love driving it... you don't know you’re in a van unless you look in the rear view mirror, it's awesome. But I don't know what Toyota was thinking with the tires they picked??? The Dunlop SP 4000 tires are total junk!!! We have 2200 miles on the van and they are wearing like they have 12,000-15,000 on them and are already cupping @ 2,200 miles. What a joke!! If it weren’t for the tires it would be perfect for us!!!

We purchased a 2005 LE-8 pass with pkg 8 (DVD etc). We selected it over the odyssey for the two reasons that the 8th seat is much more comfortable than the middle/middle seat in the ody and because it can tow our tent trailer easier. I liked the guages, auto-temp control, dual power doors, 6 disc CD, and handling on the ody. However, with 3 sons and tons of camping trips - I needed 3 comfortable seats in the middle and Honda blew it. Seat fabric is fair (shows wear from our car seat after two months) and the pull cords for the seat recliners is a pain. Sienna has 3rd row vent windows, better 2nd row fold/tumble seats, smoother transmission, better pricing- $5k off price. so far so good.

This is the most comfortable vehicle we have ever had for short and long distance trips. The comfort level is excellent, the gas mileage very good. We drove from AZ to WI and back as far as Colorado before running over a piece of metal possibly from a semi tranmission that took out the underparts of our van. Its still in Colorado. We fly up friday to retrive van from dealer that is replacing all the damaged parts. Wish it was a little higher off the ground, lost the brake lines, rear ac, transmission pan, shield off gas tank, exhaust system, cross something or other in front and even dented floor pan in rear. But was pretty big chunk of steel and no way to miss it because of traffic.

Purchased this rare optioned Sienna in Germany for military service members. It has sonar parking assist and 8 cloth seats, otherwise, it is a standard XLE. Wonderful car! Fits my criteria for the perfect minivan: quiet, smooth ride that offers best environment for conversations within the vehicle. Great power in reserve for those situations when you really need it, like merging onto freeways. Nice bells and whistles (described below) combined with great reliability and quality has resulted in a near perfect people hauler. Safety features such as 3-row curtain bags, Vehicle Stability Control, TRAC, and four- wheel disc anti-lock brakes provide peace of mind. Videos in rear is nice.

We looked at several minivans to replace our 98 Chevy Venture. In many ways we liked the Dodge/Chrysler vans better, but seat comfort actually helped win us to the Sienna. We're a little underimpressed with the mileage and power. The heating and A/C controls are a tad confusing. Quality is excellent. It's very quiet. Sometimes we're not sure the engine is on. I was heart broken when I traded my Subaru Legacy for the Sienna. I missed the low boxer engine, all-wheel-drive, and the manual shift. However, I have grown to like and respect the Sienna as a logical choice. The 8-passenger van has about the same gas mileage as my 5-passenger station wagon, plus tons of cargo space. With all seats removed/folded, the Sienna can carry 4'x8' sheets, and even 10' long 2x4 or conduits. Even with all seats up, there is still plenty of trunk space left. The ride is smooth. Handling is average, but it is better than what I expected. With a family or cargo loaded, I tend to drive conservatively anyway. Great for long trips for the whole family.

This vehicle made perfect sense for my family with three children. Timing couldn't be better, either, with some summer trips to the mountains planned. The roof rack is very sturdy and Yakima makes planting the bikes up there an easy proposition for under $300. However, like another guy said elsewhere, running boards would make this task a bit easier. But $2,000?! I feel a little like a soccer dad driving this rather immense vehicle around, but once you get used to it, the Sienna feels very car-like. On the other hand, I piled some 4x8 foot plywood among other manly Home Depot pieces to get my machismo back. My main complaint are the too many gadgets to "protect" you - beepers/buzzers.

All the gadgets and controls are easy to navigate. The transmission shifts are so subtle, the only hint that it is shifting is the change in RPM on the tach. The fit and finish of this car is very nice and the quality is very good. The engine is plenty powerful for any task. The brakes are very good with just a slight pressure on the pedal, our van has 4 wheel disc, I highly recommend. The JBL sound system and DVD player is icing on the cake. The kids are plenty occupied on a trip with their wireless headphones.

We compared the Dodge,Honda, and Chevy Uplander. The dodge felt very cheep, drove like a 1995 caravan with different body and the seats were razor thin and very hard (but I guess you have to give up something for 2nd row stow and go....) and the Honda felt like you were driving a very big full size fan that was about an inch off the pavement. The Uplander was underpowered, exterior design is terrible, and doesn't have a lot of the little handy items that the Sienna has. Don't waste your time comparing, go for the Sienna.

The Sienna CE is our second Toyota minivan, and we purchsed it due to the outstanding reliability of our '93 Toyota Previa minivan. The Sienna is a good overall value, but has an unacceptable level of road noise for a Toyota. The ride is equally out of character for Toyota quality. Both issues are evident and compounded on long trips. Our 13 year old Previa has a better ride that our new Sienna. The Sienna CE is not for the family that travels.

We chose the Sienna over the Honda Odyssey. The differences between the two vans are minor to nonexistent. I have read very passonate reviews pro or con the Odyssey/Sienna. If you want to get passonate about a minivan, fine. I recommend going with the dealer that you are most comfortable with (and can give the best price). The Sienna is very comfortable to drive. Snappy power, quality workmanship. The kids love this car.

Always thought people enjoy minivans when they buy it and when they sell it. Here comes Sienna, sales man insisted my wife to test drive it and thats it. We loved it over GX470, Honda Pilot,Seqoia.... Took the highest model, paid 37K and love it. Toyota dealerships are the best and Toyota company is always asking feedback to improve. For future maybe some extra power would be good. But this is a true gem. Great drive city or highway. Music system is awesome. Did not take entertainment system ot navigation but everything else is in here. Love how the dashboard looks at night.

We were looking for a vehicle that was safe and one that was great for everyone to want to be in and the Sienna is the perfect fit. I am also able to use it for my business and the middle row seats easily come out and the rear seats fold flat. We test drove several vehicles and decided Sienna was the one for us. Plus we were able to get a great deal on it as well.

I've spent at least a month between Toyota, Honda and Nissan dealership looking for the best minivan (price, feel, reliability, confort, drive, power, looks....). We've always been Honda or Toyata owners (accord and camry) so when we decided we needed a minivan we only consider toyota/honda or nissan...too bad that our american brands (GM,Ford etc) are NO match for nissan/honda/toyota....although cheap at first, always a GREAT deal, their quality and reliability reminds me of Yugo cars of the 1980s (also terrible customer service). too bad, they lost us and many others. i love my toyota, drives like a dream, handles great, good milage.

Put 24K miles on in the 15 months with no problmes. Several 2000+ mile trips to hunt pens.Tires wore quickly but Toyota dealer gave me 2 Michelin and I bought 2 in a compromise. Much better mileage (24+ at 65-75 mph) than previous '02 Highlander LTD and many more passenger and cargo options. Wish they put the power passnger seat. Laser cruise is a pain but sonar is great for close parking garages. Haven't used sunroof but love window shades and did put extra tinting in up to the legal max after purchase. A great distance vehicle. '02 RX300 just gets used for local trips now. Rarely fold seats as keeping them up leaves plenty of cargo space in the 'hole' and can haul 7 people to dinner. Great

The Van exceeds all of our expectations. Smooth ride, reacts fast, comfortable, with enough head room for my tall frame. Most vans I have to stoop to fit. All kinds of extra inside that you wouldn’t think of but are there. I would recommend this vehicle to any family looking for performance and comfort for the kids. We have been all over with ours. We like to camp and fish so we have literally lived out of the back of it and loved it.

This is our first Toyota minivan. We just got back from 3000 mile trip to southern Texas, and Sienna performed very well. I was actually impressed with the gas mileage: on interstate we got consistently 25-26 mpg using medium fuel grade. In town driving something like 17-18 mpg. It is very spacious minivan, and I really like its looks. Our kids just love it!

After intense research on model trims and other types of vans I decided to go for the Sienna. The 8 passenger accomodations are good for 2004. Although I was dissapointed that the back window didn't open as with my 2003 Toyota 4Runner. The running board availiability is not good. If you want the running boards you have to order them with the van. Yes you can put them on but for $2000. Just like on the Tacoma but now on a Tacoma they can be put on by a dealer.

I bought this van because it was a Toyota. I tried a Dodge and the only thing I thought that was better on the Dodge was that all the rear seats folded down easily. Only the third row seats fold in the Toyota and it is more difficult to fold them down. The middle seats are so difficult to remove and replace that once I got them back into the van I decided never to move them. They are much more difficult to remove than the seats in my 1993 Plymouth Voyager.

I had researched the sienna and the new odyssey. Both were essentally the same. The honda had more gadgets but did not have remote rear windows. What sold me was the Sienna's ride was far better and the middle seat was more functional for my needs than was the odyssey's. What a great vehicle! Driving it is an absolute pleasure, responsive, nimble and I got 24 miles per gallon on the first tank. Fold down rear seats are a real plus and the middle row is very funtional.

Sold our rock solid 99 Sienna after 130K problem free miles. We were looking forward to improved MPG. Don't believe Toyota's claim. This model is a gas hog, about the same as our 4WD Sequoia. If you need a van for around town expect about 15.5MPG. Our old Sienna was much better. We suspect the trans - the newer tranny is constantly shifting in town (the old was smooth as butter - the new is jerky and noisier). It appears Toyota traded city MPG for better highway MPG - a shame since most people use vans for driving the kids around town. The other beef is with the armrests on the captains chairs - not sure who they designed them for, but they don't line up with my arms or my kids.

I considered only Sienna and '05 Odyssey. The "deal-breaker" -- Sienna's rear seat audio (not expensive DVD) option, allows rear seat paxs to listen on headphones to audio even if cabin audio off. Honda's only on leather option, w/ DVD. I ordered XLE w fabric seats. "Picking nits"-- Sienna - rear windows open, '05 Odyssey does not; Sienna's max torque comes on lower in RPM, though Odyssey has more and more h.p; Sienna - telescoping steering wheel, driving position felt more comfortable; Sienna's suspension smoother over rough roads; MPG right on sticker #'s. Odyssey's seats seemed more comfortable, but after a 5+5 hr trip, Sienna's did fine. Ody's floor storeage not easy to use;

I have the 2004 XLE AWD. Dunlop run flat tires lasted 27k (more than others), and cost $300 each to replace at the dealer. Probably should have been replaced sooner, based on how bad they looked. Toyota no help - tried to blame it on my inflation levels - suggested using higher than recommended pressure. Spare tire kit is available, but I bought the van for the fold-down seats, and use them all the time - why give that up? Might get regular tires next time, and carry a spare on the roof rack...

Very pleased with it, except for the poor gas mileage. I am a VERY conservative driver and got only 17 mpg (with premium fuel!) on the highway, precisely what a neighbor gets with his new Sienna. I took both the Sienna and Odyssey on three extended test drives and found the Odyssey to have a decided edge in acceleration & sporty handling on twisting roads (no lean on turns when pushed!), partly due to its lower center of gravity. But who buys a minivan to drive like a Ferrari? (I think Consumer Reports and Edmunds have a sporty handling bias; hence Odyssey's ratings edge.) The Sienna is more refined, quiet, plush, has very good handling and acceleration and was the best overall, hands down.

We bought our toyota almost a month ago, and we couldn't be more satisfied. We're averaging slightly more than 22 mpg with mixed driving, which should only improve - great for a van with this amount of room and comfort. Plenty of "bells and whistles" on this base CE model, and solid power. We did plenty of research, and the price difference between this and the Honda, sold us on the Toyota. We also felt the Sienna mileage rating was more reliable - which it's proven to be.

I Have been enjoying my new Sienna. Sometimes however, I find it does not seem to steer straight. It wants to pull to the left. This is my first big vehicle and it does take some time getting familiar with how the van handles. It is a super smooth ride but be careful, this van glides so smoothly that you do not realize how fast you are going! My power sliding door is making some noise it did not before. ( Sound like it needs lubricant ) The folding seats, removable seats are wonderful. I hauled a queen sized sofa bed in it and had plenty of room to spare! I get about 23 mpg so far with 93 octane fuel and about 20 with 89 octane. The engine is louder now than when new.

This is our second Sienna. We bought our last one in December of 2004. The van was totaled by a police car chasing a stolen car without his lights and sirens on. My wife was driving and our three children (5,3,2) were in the second row watching the DVD. The front end was totaled by the cruiser. My wife was going 10 mph and was hit by a car in the front going at least 60 mph. The van was spun around an moved 60 feet. This vans front end took one heck of a hit and my family only received minor bruising from car seats and seat belts. We are definitely getting the exact van. Go drive the others and I promise you that they do not even hold a candle to the Sienna. Thanks Toyota design and safety!!

I really want to love this minivan, but it's making it hard. The build quality is just not up to Toyota standards. I just got home from a 220 mile day trip, and the rattling sound is driving me crazy. It's either behind the dash or in the driver's door, but of course, has been undiagnosable by the dealer. This is only one of several quality problems we've had with this Toyota. I'm going out shopping for a different van on Monday and will buy whichever seems to have good build quality. Very disappointed in my first ever Toyota.

We've had our Sienna for about a month now. We really love everything about it. Fit and finish on this vehicle are what you would expect from Toyota. It's very comfortable to ride and has a very smooth engine and transmission combo. It also should be as safe as anything on the road with all the safety features it has. We also got a very fair deal from our dealer on the Vehicle ~$36500 versus a sticker of right around $40000. We did also opt for the dealer applied underbody sound deadening which helps with road noise.

When I test drove this minivan, there was no comparison between it and the competition. I drove the Honda Odyssey as well, but elected to buy the Sienna because of the AWD feature. My two biggest disappointments are the driver's seat and economy. I am disappointed in the seat comfort for the driver's side because leg room is lacking and the seat is too short for proper support of the leg. I feel like I'm sitting on the edge of the seat. The economy is rated at 19-24, but it hasn't seen 20 yet, and only a time or two has 19 mpg been achieved. The van is solid, reliable, and fun to drive with enough power under the hood. The AWD feature works wonderfully in the inclement weather.

I just traded in a 2000 Toyota Sienna and went with the 2005 model. I couldn't be happier. I was impressed with the power, performance and reliability of the 2000 model and Toyota has outdone themselves with the upgrades. This minivan drives like a car, not a truck like the Ford Freestar or even the Honda Odyssey. It's roomy; 50% larger than the 2000 model; quiet with good milage and instrumentation to help you make the most out of your milage. Welcome additions include the second row roll down windows and stow-n-go rear seating. With ABS, Traction control, and front and side curtain airbags, this is a great mix of safety and performance. I'll be back to try the next upgrade in a few years.

I love my minivan!

I was one of those people who thought I would NEVER buy a minivan. After a lot of thought we decided to buy the 8 passenger LE model. I LOVE IT. It is so fun to drive. It doesn't feel like a van, it drives like a small car. I love having the space to carry groceries, strollers and everything else that kids need in the car. It is so comfortable for long road trips, and there is plenty of room so everyone is comfortable and not sitting on top of each other. We have plenty of room for our growing family. I'm so glad we bought our minivan!

This is a great vehicle for family. Roomy, comfortable, smooth and quite ride, excellent details such as grocery hooks, handles and reading light for every seat except the middle 3rd row seat (understandably). Excellent stereo sound. Really fun to drive (it's not a sport sedan of course). Excellent reliability (ok, I only have 4,000 km on this van, but from my previous ownerships of 12 years for a Previa and 9 years for a Camry.)

Got 5,000+ miles on my Sienna and have got absolutely no complaints... Toyota folks really did their homework on this one. I test drove the Odyssey for a week before test driving the Sienna, the Sienna proved to be a much smoother ride... much better fuel economy while not sacrificing power and performance. All-around quality is much more solid in the Sienna.... feels like a Lexus.

I have owned this van for two months. I find the driver seat lumbar to be very uncomfortable even fully deflated. It doesn't compare in comfort to my BMW X5 seat. It is also a real gas hog. We are averaging about 14.5 mpg; I think toyota lies on their mpg ratings on the sales sticker. If the fuel consumption is going to be this low it should be a better performer. The dynamic laser cruise control can be a pain when it hits the brakes because of reflection from trucks in adjacent lanes not attempting to move into your lane. I usually run the cruise in "old fashioned" mode. The little curved mirror used to see the passengers is nearly useless.

I had no choice but to get a minivan. Being that I am 25 and have one child and more soon to come, I felt stuck. 25 year olds don't drive minivans I thought. Now that I have one all my friends are jealous because of its comfort and room for anything and everything. My mom drives a SUV and she is jealous of all the room I have. With one little pull of a seat everything folds down just like that! I love It!!!

I chose Sienna LE FWD 8 seats with package #1.List of selling points for me:0. My daughter loves it!1. Great handling and turning radius 2. Great build and material quality 3. Got exactly what I want without paying extra money for extra toys 4. The same engine and tranny that lexus 330 has 5. Yours - consumer's satisfaction (compare to a Honda's) 6. I leased the car and will consider to buy it off lease.

Great handling for a van. Previously had a 2002 Sienna, which we liked, but this is a huge improvement. I cant say enough about the comfort of this van. It is a true pleasure to drive. I did my homework on all minivans on the market and this is by far the best, even over 2005 honda. This is a dream van. It's got it all, including the Toyota quality. It's extremely comfortable, even for short overweight drivers. It rides and handles like a high-end sedan. The rear seat is easy to fold, the automatic rear door opener and closer is a real boon to vertically challenged people. We purchased our vehicle from Tuscaloosa Toyota. From sales to service they have been awesome! We've purchased many vehicles in our lifetime, but we have never dealt with a better dealership. We previously owned 2 Chrysler products, 1 T&C Limited and 1 Grand Caravan ES. These were both solid performers. We "upgraded" to the Sienna and so far have been only minimally impressed with the vehicle. Acceleration is lacking, body lean is major, steering is light, sunroof rattles and the JBL radio is terrible. Mileage has not been that impressive. Removal of center seats are demanding. Several minor issues were also noted upon delivery of the vehicle. Missing screws in wheel wells, loose molding etc. Quality and reputation brought us to the Toyota. However, based on our past two vans, it is no better than the competition.

We bought a Toyota Sienna to be able to transport my husband's electric wheelchair. The Harmar AL-600 lift fits well and was easy to install thanks to the "stow-and-go" rear row (which is stowed). The lift (which lifts only the empty wheelchair) was easy to install and works great in the Sienna. The Sienna is really quiet inside (compared to our 1997 Honda Civic) and quite comfortable. For a van, the gas mileage is quite good. Unfortunately, I don't see much out of the back using the rear-view mirror - I now have to use the large side-mounted rear-view mirrors. The transmission is smooth and it's really corvenient the way the seats in the back row fold away completely.

Can't be beat!

With about 1500 miles on the odometer, I am very impressed with the build quality of this car. There are simply no manufacturing flaws. There are a few minor design annoyances but the good points far outweigh the bad. Mileage is about 20 with mixed driving, expecting it to improve. The interlock that prevents the left sliding door from trashing the gas filler door when its open, has already proven its worth during a refueling stop. The power rear vents are a lifesaver when you have "gassy" children riding with you. It doesn't have the same precise on- center feel as our old Honda van, but that may be due to the tires, or just the fact that its a bigger car.

This is a great car which I have owned for a month. The thoughtful goodies on a fully optioned XLE Limited take a while to learn how to use, but worth the effort (and the expense). The car was delivered without a single defect. The navigation sytem is improved over the 2002 system. However, the run-flat tires cost $425 each to replace and it seems that no one stocks them. Toyota advises not to mix other types of tires with them. Although rated 4 season, they are not aggressively tread. It's an impracticle extra expense and Toyota should use regular tires, offering the run-flats as an extra cost option.

Wife and I went back and forth between the Sienna and the Odyssey, finally went to drive both. She drove both twice, I didn't even need to drive the Odyssey... we loved the Sienna the second we were inside. Space, ride, comfort, mileage... TOTAL home run for Toyota!! And the treatment at the dealership... outstanding!! Also negotiated to $3,000 off sticker... just takes some patience but you CAN get a good deal!!

Excellent van, very quiet on the road, features are excellent. Safety features are the best in its class. Engine/transmissions are the same ones found in a Lexus. AWD should be great in the snow. Had 4 other Toyota before, after a total of 300,000 no major problems with any of the can/truck/vans. Well worth the money

After 8 years of a Ford Widstar Minivan, and an increasing repair bill, I needed a change. My 2005 Sienna continues to impress me. The tight turn radius is great. The comfort level is impresive. Can't wait to take my family on a long drive so my 4 children can enjoy the DVD player. I'm sure it will be a big hit. Great job Toyota! Goodbye FORD!

I am not a minivan person, but after driving the Sienna, I was converted. It is the best riding, handling, and roomiest vehicle on the market. The price is higher, but you get what you pay for. I drove all of the GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda and Kia. The Toyota was the best! The overall vehicle is the best minivan on the market. This is a Camry with a lot of room!

I just purchased this van 3 weeks ago. I LOVE it! I came from a grand voyager (99) and can not believe how far vans have come! This van Is wonderful! It has all the features I wish I had in my last van. We have a place in North Carolina, and can not wait until we get to take it there. This van is very thoughtfully made. It has the busiest moms in mind! I looked for a long time and finally found this one. I am glad I waited and found the Toyota Sienna

Overall the best minivan available. Odyssey drives/handles better and has better mileage but is not available with AWD (helpful for MN winters). Very happy with fit/finish and build quality however cabin noise is excessive at highway speeds (70+) and chassis rumbles over rough surfaces. No rattles yet but seems likely we'll get some down the road.

I swore I wouldn't be caught dead in the driver's seat of a minivan. Well, a couple of kids changed all that, plus the quality of ride and comfort features. I'd consider the this more of a luxory car with massive cargo space. Yet, it gets fantastic gas mileage. More utility than an SUV, though it could never replace a pick up. It sure beats the pants off the 4-door car we used to squeeze into. We looked at every make of minivan. It was by far the most family oriented. Only the Caravan seemed to handle better, but I kept hearing about transmission problems etc. The new carvan's middle row that folds into the floor was very uncomfortable exhaust touchable by lil' hands.

The Sienna's All Wheel Drive Option is based on the use of "run-flat" tires. These tires, made by Dunlop, will take you one hundred miles if punctured. The problem is that no one, including Toyota or Dunlop dealerships, stocks replacement tires, and nearly no one owns the $50,000 device required to pull the tire from the rim. As such, a simple nail will leave a family on vacation stranded for two or three days while a special order tire ships in. Since a simple nail in a tire is a foreseeable hazard, Toyota has failed miserably in providing any sense of reliability on the AWD version of the Sienna. This is a very sad state of affairs for a company known for attention to consumers.

I just bought LE 8 passenger seats, and it is well worth it. However, I think Odyssey represents a better value than the Sienna. If only I could live with 7+1 seats in Odyssey, I would have bought Odyssey. The 8 seaters offers more flexibility. Everything works fine. It takes some short learning curve to master removing the middle seat however.

My new Sienna AWD LE replaces my 6-yr old Pontiac Montana. What a difference! The Sienna is incredibly quiet, extremely sure-footed and perhaps the best built minivan I've ever seen. I opted for the AWD version... can't wait for the snow here in the Northeast. Upgraded sound system is a tremendous improvement over GM's top-of-the-line audio. The LE version includes features which you'd have to pay extra for in most other minivans. Adding the AWD option includes important things like 4 wheel disk, stability control, 17in. wheels, etc. 2nd row passenger windows actually work like a sedan! Rear seats retract neatly into floor, leaving plenty of room for dogs. 2nd row seats flip forward.

My wife and I recently came to the conclusion that with three kids, the purchase of a minivan was inevitable and that we were "uncool" a long time ago anyway. We bought the '05 Sienna LE AWD and love it. This is our third Toyota and we remain convinced that these are the best engineered cars on the road. Rock solid build quality, quality ride and well thought out nooks and crannies for storage make this a great vehicle. The Sienna w/ AWD provides a nice alternative to the Landcruiser (SUV) we had as the previous family hauler. We got a $2300 discount and a great deal on our trade in as well. My only complaint - 17 mpg driving around town, better the SUV mileage, but we expected 20+ mpg.

I bought my minivan half expecting it to be as lackluster as my 2000 GMC Safari, but it was more than that. The Toyota Sienna has all the amenities I looked for in a minivan. Even though I could have shelled out a few thousand more for the Limited AWD edition like my mother in law, I am very pleased with its performance and reliability factors. Plus my kids (all boys mind you) enjoy the spacious leg room the van affords us, plus it has a deceptively big trunk space for all that crap I have to lug around. I hope this rating helps just a little...oh and the mileage we're getting out of it is pretty good. Go to Toyota's website to see more about the van. :)

Well, we waiting until the 2005 Odyssey came out before making our decision on a van. One test drive with the 2005 Odyssey and we could not run back to the Toyota dealership fast enough. The Sienna is still in another class when it comes to ride quality. The New Odyssey retains its clunky and stiff jarring ride for 2005. Very disappointing. However, the good news is we got a great price on our new Sienna because the completion. We acted like we were on the fence the whole time we were debating the price. The price kept on dropping the more we talked up the 2005 Odyssey. Thanks Honda! You let us buy the better vehicle for less money.
