Purchased used with 30k miles, and put 145k miles on with mostly just oil changes and brakes. At 160k, I had new sparks, throttle cleaning, brakes, and valve cover gasket replaced. I have also replaced the fluids here and there. I am amazed at how reliable this little SUV is. Never a breakdown on the road. I have never been able to put this many miles on a car. I have been test driving newer cars and so far haven't found anything that measures up. The new Honda HR-V has slow acceleration; the Jeep Renegade smelled like it had no oil in it after a test drive; the Prius V looked and sounded weird and has no space in the front seat. Even the new RAV4 seems a sluggish old bus compared to my little RAV. Wish Toyota had kept this model the same: petite and sporty.

Wish I had bought one sooner.

Every Chevy or Ford I've owned needed constant repair. I bought this last year, used from a dealer. What a great lil suv. The only thing I've bought are tires, oil and filter. Its never left me stranded. I've never had to call my dad to come rescue me. Gas mileage is awesome. Mine is the sport with the Hood scoop. My dads getting too old to keep working on broken down vehicles. I think he loves that I've had it with no issues. Parking in tight spots is a breeze too. I've got 149,000 miles and runs like it's brand new. If I could change anything it would be the awd to 4wd .. I like to control that myself. But I'm not complaining. I've read they can go to 300,000 so I'm crossing my fingers... love this suv!

I bought my 2005 Rav 4 over a year ago with over 100,000 miles on it. This vehicle is a beast!! Three months after I bought it, I had a full car load of people when a DUMP TRUCK rammed into my drivers door, HEAD ON, going about 30 mph!! I am amazed that this little SUV held up the way it did!! Other than some small cuts from broken glass, everyone was okay!! Upon having the accident, my Rav 4 was left in the body shop for over a month so that some major body work could be done to it (the damages left by the dump truck were everything BUT minor). I honestly thought that my "new" ride would never be the same again...but I was wrong. Here it is over a year later and my RAV 4 is still going just as strong as ever!! Other than the accident, I have not had to put it in the shop one time!! It is now at 140,000 miles and it continues to drive just as good, if not better, than some of the brand new cars I have seen!! I LOVE MY 2005 RAV 4 (not to mention, it hardly uses any gas) !!!!

After trading in a 2001 Rav4 we purchased a new 2005. It has been a pleasure to own, and wish Toyota still made this style. We like the size, it has plenty of zip, not bad on gas, easy to park, and great in the snow, holds the road in the rain with the AWD. I do most of my own work and changed the wires and plugs at the 100,000 mile mark. The only maintenance was a new battery, front brakes, tires, new rear shocks, and runs like the day it left the dealers lot. It also helps that it is garage kept. This was the top of the line when purchased, there wasn't any entertainment (other than cd/am/fm), navigation, Bluetooth, USB, climate control available when it was purchased. We don't miss it, and less chance of something going amiss. Now at 125,000 miles this is the most dependable, reliable vehicle we have ever owned. Easy to park, great highway mileage up to 29 mpg, and if it lasts to 300,000 miles my wife isn't going to part with it anytime soon. Back seat is roomy enough and with them flat or taken out if needed, it offers plenty of room for cargo.

My Rav has 150,000 miles on her. Last October I rear-ended someone and thought she was done for. I pulled the frame back out a few inches, installed a new radiator and she's back running as strong as ever. My only complaint would be the wind noise, honestly. The clutch was replaced around 15,000 miles ago, but that's been the only mechanical issue. Regular maintenance, tires, and brakes have all been reasonably inexpensive. This is the first car I have ever kept until it was paid off. In the past, I would grow tired of issues, but not this baby. I am going to drive her until the wheels fall off.

I've been through 3 sets of front brakes 3 sets of tires, 2 water pumps and I think thats it. Just regular maintenance keep this little guy going. Oil changes every 7-10 thousand miles, radiator fluid flushed once a year, trans fluid changed every 50,000 miles. Thats about it. Just installed new struts and shocks long over due made an amazing difference in the ride. Oh I did have to have the Air Sensor thingy replaced it wasnt cheap like 350. The sensor light kept going on the dash.

Purchased new in 2005. Good power and performance. Gas mileage was as listed until year 2-3. Now averaging 22-23 MPG, but not bad for an AWD. Now after almost 7 years and 69,000 miles, it's never needed anything but normal maintenance. Extremely satisfied with my RAV4. Brakes lasted almost 60,000 miles w/auto transmission! Paint and interior still in almost like new condition. The only issue is an exhaust "growl" at low RPM's. Not a big deal. Road noise is a bit loud, but the stereo works great to cover that. I love this car and would highly recommend it.

This was my first Toyota ever and I wished I had done it sooner! I now have reached 100K miles and it runs the same as when I bought it. I have never had any major problems with it. Front brakes around 50K and regular maintenance at recommended mileage. Original Tires replaced at 36K which is better than expected. BF Goodrich now have 64K and still good tread. I have never done a wheel alignment on this vehicle. I have tracked my mileage and it was exactly the 24 MPG overall that Toyota said it would be. It is only FWD so in winter I take it easy but this has been a very reliable vehicle for us. The utility has been great and removable seats are wonderful. I am very satisfied with it.

I purchased this car new and except for routine maintenance have never had a problem. My daughter was taking the car to college so I called a local Mechanic to see have the car checked out - I was concerned that the car had a serpentine belt that might need to be replaced. They informed me that the engine had a timing chain (lasts longer) and that the car wasn't scheduled for its first tune up until 120,000 miles! I purchased this car at the same time I bought a 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser - I made sure to purchase Toyotas that were made in Japan, not the U.S. (both were). I have had zero problems with both cars.

Bought my Rav4 brand new in 2004 which is a 2005. Have had no major problems with it except for replacing the water pumps constantly! They are made very cheap, and its not cheap to replace either. And rear breaks are for sure bad as well like previous reviews have stated. Also, when it rains the car does not stay put on the road.

I have had my Rav4 since 2006 and did not have to many issues at the time. At about 75,000 miles the alternator went out and is the biggest pain to get fixed due to the connector being a special piece from the rest. Since I got the car in 2006 it had a knocking noise in the engine that no one can seem to figure out. The gas has a severe hesitation and should probably be on a recall. It takes about 2-3 seconds from the time you step on the gas till the car preforms. Once it kicks in, it jerks very badly. Very easy to drive, almost like a go kart.

My wife bought rav4 2005 from maplewood brach and it has a sever problem of brake during snow and cold weather. It slides on very little snow. Even if you are driving low and try to stop it skids. It doesn't stop immediately as you step on the break. It keeps going with a sound gggggg struggling to stop. So my wife is not happy to drive during snow time.

My wife bought the 2005 Rav4 4 years ago, and has had to replace the rear breaks 3 times, going on four now. Everything else about the car she loves, but the constant issue with the rear breaks is causing us to sell. In their infinite wisdom, Toyota cheaped out on the rear breaks making them disk breaks, not drum breaks which they should be. We live in northern Vermont, 3 mile up a gravel road and my wife has to drive over a mountain pass everyday driving to work. Needless to say, we need working breaks, and the Rav4 has not provided it. The dealership has worked with us a little bit, but we still have speny about $2000 over the past 4 years on breaks alone. Very disappointed Rav4 owners!

Not very comfortable for driver on long drives. Vehicle is listed at 21mpg city and 28mpg highway. After the first year my mpg went down to 18 city and 25 highway. I can barely get 280 miles from a tank of gas in the city. Dealership says nothing wrong. (dealerships are all rip-offs) Exhaust has a rattle at low rpm's. Other than that, I love this car. After 3.5 years and 37000 miles, it has needed NO repairs other than scheduled maintenance. The most reliable car I've ever owned.

I bought my Rav4 in Feb 2005. its my commuter car. It's trouble free so far after 45000 miles. Manual tranny is great. I still get 25 mpg in Minnesota winters and around 28 MPG in summer. I take a seat out in summer and can put 2 road bikes easy. This vehicle has to be top 5 reliable fun to drive on consumer reports.

I'd never heard of a RAV4 until my son showed me a photo the night before we went car shopping. It was love at first sight! We drove several small SUVs, but the RAV4 was by far the most fun to drive. It is zippy and handles great. I've enjoyed 65000 trouble-free miles. The ride is quite firm, but makes the driver feel like one with the road.

I really enjoyed this little SUV, it had over 40,000 trouble-free miles. Never thought it would "roll" easily. My daughter - good driver - in her 20s, no previous accidents - was going about 20 mph and hit the back of a black parked car on a very dark street. The Rav basically tipped over - it ended up on its side almost even w/the car it hit. Paramedics and police at the scene said, yes, SUVs do that. I've heard of larger SUVs rolling but I thought you'd have to be traveling much faster. No airbags went off because she wasn't going fast enough. Thank goodness only minor injuries. Be careful in any SUV, even the great little RAV. Hopefully this was a fluke of an accident.

I like the gas mileage I get when I fill up also. It is easy to park, easy to handle and has get up and go when I need to accelerate. I am glad I got the 2005 RAV because I like the style and lines of the car compared to the 2006 model which is little bigger. I would recommend this car to anyone.

I love its handling and how easy it is to drive and park, though it looks much bigger than it actually is. I would highly recommend looking at one of these SUVs. The RAV4 is awesome with storage and room as well. The seats can recline, move back or forward or be taken out completely in the rear.

My wife and I drove no car but Toyotas in last 30 years. RAV4 AWD is another great hit. Traction is so good that we no longer shovel snow on the drive way. Acceleration is remarkable given the size of the engine. Antilock brake is so effective on all road conditions, shine or rain.

All that I can say is that I love the performance of my 2005 RAV4 except for the disturbing "chirping" noise that consistently occurs when going over mild bumps in the road. It is very annoying and the dealership cannot resolve the problem after making 5 service appointments. The noise seems to be coming from where the lower part of the windshield meets the cal panel. I'm not sure I spelled that correctly. Anyway, this problem ruins the entire fun of driving this vehicle. Sorry, I can't recommend a RAV4 to anyone. ... disappointed buyer.

Almost 1.5 years later she has been constantly begging to trade in for something with more space (the folding back seats do not lie flat), better gas mileage, and a smoother ride. For a vehicle built on the corolla platform it rides more like a hummer (military version). She is so dissapointed, that she will not consider another Toyota.

Gas milage, I'm getting 30 -31 in town and on the freeway. This RAV 4 is a 5 speed and has the bigger 4 cyl. with plenty of power. I like how the storage is organized and love the hooks for my plastic grocery bags. The smaller size of the 2005 is for me, easy to park!! To drive this car is like driving a small sports car.

After having a 2001 Rav4 with no problems, we decided on a 2005. It handles great, better acceleration and terrific mileage. It drives beautiful in the snow, and the styling is nice. This vehicle is at home at the grocery store, home improvement centers and weddings. It is great for parking and quick trips to the store, and very agile on the highway for the long trips. It is unfortunate the styling changed. The very reasons that made the RAV4 popular have changed. My wife dosen't like the new models, and either do I. It is no longer the cute ute. It isn't the compact ute it once was, and the whole reason for buying a RAV.

We purchased this vehicle for all our short distance trips, ie. 300 miles or less (We are also fortunate to own an '06 highlander limited, for the longer trips). Love the RAV! Hate to see the "smaller" RAV go! It is LEXUS quality thru and thru. This is the 10th Toyota we've owned... not because of ANY problems...just really love our Toyotas! Also own a 1998 "L" model, with 100K miles which we will keep forever, as a third spare vehicle. Wouldn't hesitate to take the '98 to Florida or California (We live in OHIO) I highly suggest and recommend ANY toyota product, including the hybrids. Toyota's attention to detail and quality are second to none!

This is my Third Rav4 to lease and at no time did I ever have any trouble with any of the three vehicles. One problem I have had, since I am short, I have a blind spot on rt. hand side of rav4 and had to be very careful when moving to outside lane as I cannot see a car that is moving beside me about even with back door. I still love the rav4 and will continue to drive one as long as I drive. Avery reliable vehickle

I traded in my 2005 Scion tC for this car and feel much safer in the snowy conditions. I drove my Rav in 7 inches of snow the other night and it handled beautifully. All of the traction control and saftey feature are a definite plus. The auto LSD works like a charm. As I pulled into my drive way through the huge snow drift the front wheels slide to the right. I put on the auto LSD and drove straight up the driveway.

My husband and I are basically very satisfied with our Rav 4 but are very disappointed in the gas mileage. We do not get anywhere near what was quoted. As a matter of fact, we are not getting much better than our full size AWD pickup which we traded for the Rav4. We are only averaging 19 - 20 miles per gallon and have even had it back to the dealer which they claim there is nothing wrong with our car. That was our main purpose for trading in our pickup, and that was the gas mileage.

This is a right hand drive driven in Australia. I've driven the rav in the rain, on the beach, dirt roads and from short trips to over 6 hrs at any time. It will go just about anywhere with great comfort. It has more than enough room and power from the 4 cyl. I can get about 500k from a tank of petrol.

Put 700 miles on it the first week-end. Got 35 MPG on mainly level interstate with an automatic. Cruise control stayed "locked on" to correct setting even when crossing the Smokey Mountains in NC/TN. Not as comfortable as my Camry XLE, but then not supposed to be. Loaded a lot of stuff into it without any problems.

This is my 4th Toyota and it's my favorite. The height of an SUV yet small enough to drive like a car really appealed to me. Has excellent handling, great gas mileage, and is just a pleasure to drive. Owned just for 7 months and already put 12000 miles on it - makes you want to travel! Lots of storage space between fold-down back seats and rear area.

I have practically lived in my RAV4 the past year due to graduate school and driving around the East Coast to see family and for interviews. So I have ranked up the miles on this SUV and everything is perfect!:) I get a lot of compliments with the way it looks (I have it in black) to the way it drives. There is a ton of storage space if your moving a studio apartment around like I did. It is worth the money and you will save on gas!

The exterior is also beautiful. It's a great small suv for someone who's tiny like me! It's easy to drive and very spacious. I'd recommend it to anyone!

A great car/truck for New York City driving. Easy to parallel park and handles those pot holes with ease. After getting rid of my 10 year old car, it is good to have the feel of a tight suspension again. Although my wife uses the car to go back and forth to work, I look forward to the weekends when I do the driving and we plan more "Road Trips" for this fall and winter.

After months of due diligence I decided to go for RAV4. I am pleased with the decision I made and my friends and collegues are impressed too. Its zippy, good on mileage (22mpg city/30mpg highway), compact and good pick (better than my previous v6 dodge intrepid). Its great value for the price. Great looks and great performance backed by Toyota's reputation, I think its the best compact SUV in the market. Safety features, especially side curtain air bags, helped me get good insurance rates and peace of mind, of course.

I've wanted an SUV for a few years, but I didn't know if I could handle an SUV, being only a little over five feet tall and driving only small cars. The Toyota Rav4 is the one I settled on once it was time for the big purchase. Driving a Rav4 is like driving on a cloud. It handles smoothly, maneuvers effortlessly and is a joy to drive. I would recommend the RAV4 to anyone contemplating that first time SUV purchase.

I bought this car couple of months ago for my wife. She loves it and I drive it every chance I get (or excuse I can come up with). Rav4 is a fun car and I researched many months before decided to go for a 2WD automatic. Living in California diminishes the need for 4WD and plus I can save more money on gas. So far I get 21 MPG and this is mostly city driving. Curtain air bag was very important for me, so I had to move up to “L” and few other options since this was the only one on the Dealer’s Lot with side/curtain airbags.

I did extensive research prior to purchasing this car. I was wise in my decision to buy the RAV4. 1st, it gets great gas mileage. Very important when you're paying $3 a gallon. I get 20 mpg. 2nd, It's a smaller SUV, but, it is very spacious. I managed to carry an 8 ft. treadmill in it. 3rd, it's sporty and SO much fun to drive. And it's really CUTE! It really doesn't look like the SUV's out there. You're higher up than in a car without being in a hulking, gas guzzling SUV. Last, It's a Toyota. It's got a great warranty, and I expect I will be driving it when it's 10 years old or older with more than 100,000 miles on it. I highly recommend this car.

This is my third Toyota, and my second RAV-4 - I previously had a 2003 2WD model and decided to upgrade to the 2005 4WD "L" model. I couldn't be happier! The engine was improved in 2004 providing more horsepower which completely removed the "gut-less" reputation the RAV-4 had. This vehicle has plenty of get-up-and go for a 4- cyl. SUV! Stylish and fun to drive, while achieving high safety and reliability ratings. The standardization of anti-lock breaks and the additional air bags make the "L" model a top choice!

The driving experience is excellent. The manual transmission is definitely the way to go for fun driving and acceleration. The AWD system is the best in class.

Great Zippy Vehicle...It is so fun to drive. I have the Evergreen Metallic that looks so sharp and the sunroof that comes in handy for ventilation. The RAV meets all of my expectations, and I have only 5500 miles on it, so my fuel economy should increase soon. It averages about 24 mpg now, and I read other reviews that rate it slightly higher. All of the features seem to be well thought out, and I also have the side curtain air bags that adds to my confidence in case of an accident.

Design is tops (I get stopped/asked about it an avg. of once every few weeks, twice in the past 4 days). Love it's exceptionally high safety ratings. No car I've driven before gets ABOVE the rated miles per gallon as this one does! I average 30 mpg or better of city and highway combined! Got 33 mpg going up and down steep mountain roads with two kayaks on top! Never get less than 27 mpg!

The 2005 Toyota automatic 4 dr AWD RAV- 4 is a fun, safe little SUV. It replaced a 1996 Toyota RAV-4 with manual that we drove to 90000 miles. We need it in the winter as we live on the side of a mountain at the 7000 ft level that gets lots of snow in winter. It has a lot of safety features such as side air bags for driver and all passengers, side impact door beams, stability control with traction control and antilock brakes with brake assist and EBD. Also gets 25 mp gallon.

This is the best car I've ever owned, and I'm a 50-year-old woman, so I've been around the car block. It's compact enough that it gives decent gas mileage and being an SUV, it puts me on the same level as the rest of the world. (In fact, I'm a bit miffed they're planning to make the 2007 models bigger -- if you want bigger, move on up to a Highlander or a Sequoia. Leave the Rav 4 alone!)

I loved my first RAV4 I purchased in March of 1998 and hated the thought of ever trading it in. When a van we had finally died, we replaced it with a 2005 RAV4- I hated looking at anything else because the RAV has been so dependable, it seemed silly to consider a different car. We thought about a different Toyota, but the size of the RAV is perfect for city driving and so comfortable on the open road. We have three growing kids between the ages of 7 and 14 and while the older RAV had a smaller back seat- the newer one has plenty of room for all three kids- and no complaining! I love the added get up and go in the 05. It's a great car I'd buy again.. maybe we'll go for three!

I researched suv's for about 6 months before I settled on the RAV4... Of course, Toyota was the pivoting factor. I have owned Toyotas since 1987 and have been very impressed with them. This RAV4 answered all the needs I had. It's easy to park, turn corners, and takes up much less space in my garage. It has fantastic pick up, it moves faster and tighter than my Camry. The best feature was not having to sit down into a car. I have lower back problems and getting into and out of my Camry was so hard for me. I find this vehicle easy to get in and out of with no effort. I am 5'10" and need all the leg and head room it offers. I sit up high and the 360 degree view is awesome, no blind spots

I just purchased the rav 4 and it is great. I am 5'2" and it is the only small SUV that I drove and felt comfy in. It handles really well with great pick up and steering. It does take getting used to if you were used to driving a sedan as it is top heavy, but the rav4 doesn't lean as much as the other models I drove. The Rav 4 is an exceptional value for its class. The handling is very tight. Cornering is comfortable. The stablility and traction control system enables a very smooth ride. The cargo space in ample. You have about 6ft of cargo space when you remove the back 2 seats. I would recommend getting a roof rack to increase your cargo options. The interior is quite functional. You don't need to reach too far to access the dashboard controls. Seats are decent albeit a bit stiff. Safety features abound. Good for family transportation. I am very happy with this purchase. Great gas mileage and lots of features make for a fun, affordable ride.

The quality seems good and like it will hold up for years. The seats are easily removed or repositioned to create a surprising amount of space. And, even riding in the back seat is comfortable. My one complaint is that it is difficult to have the windows down--it seems much more noisy than usual and that probably has something to do with the design . . .

I just purchased my 2005 Rav 4 last month. I am a 29 year old female with 1 child. So far I am very pleased with this vehicle. The design is very stylish, This SUV handles beautifully, smooth and quite, handles like a car but you have better visabilty and more room. Another reason I chose this model is the incredible safety features. It has specially designed crashzones and AWD for bad weather. Also this model does not have a higher rate of rollover like most SUV's. This SUV is perfect for women with 1 or no children. I could see it feeling a little cramped for larger families or for men over 6'2". My husband is 6'5" and fits ok for around town but would not want it for his primary vehicle.

I must tell you...I have had a Rav now for 4 years...Our first one was bought in 2002 after renting one in Las Vegas for a week we fell in love...My husband and I came home and purchased our first Rav 4...Since then he has passed on and I just purchased my 2nd Rav...I love it and hope to purchase another one in several more years to come...We checked other SUV's before purchasing a Rav only to find that most were too high off the ground for me to get into...so that was the main reason we purchased our Rav...

I could not be happier. The RAV build quality and handling are tops. I have used it in limited off-road situations, and it has performed decently. For the money, you get a lot of features. Once that 4 cylinder hit 3000 rpm, it goes like a rocket! I am 6'3" tall and I do not feel cramped at all. I did have to take off the handles above the door on the inside, I hit my head on them sometimes. Overall, I am happy everytime I start this vehicle.

Terrific gas milege - very sporty, yet smooth comfortable ride. A coworker, who was my passenger asked if the Rav4 was a V-6 because of the exceptional pick up. Far better visibility than Honda CRV - vertually no blind spots. Lots of toys - stereo/CD player controls also located on steering wheel for ease in changing from one to the other. Excellent sound too. Lots of room - rear seats fold up and out - many compartments for storage 4 wheel drive hugs the road and its an SUV that's very easy to get in and out of. These vehicles run for years too.

Traded in a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLS for a 2005 RAV4. Got one in Evergreen Metallic with everything except leather. Paid $23700, which was $100 over invoice, which was fair since they had to go 150 miles to get the one I wanted. Needed something bigger for our dog (Akita). The fact that the rear seats come out easily and it gets the best MPG in the SUV market (sorry not buying an Escape Hybrid) make it the perfect vehicle.

This car is great because it gets good gas mileage, it's small so it's easy to parallel park in new york city. The car is pretty costly when someone rear-ends you because the back tire is there. The car fits my family. The backseat folds down and comes out of the car for storage room. The sport package makes the car more fun to drive because every one looks and admires the car. The options come in many colors. Options are the dvd player, the rims, the leather or non-leather seats, the alarm is very important but it costs extra but its worth it. Another option is the sun/moon roof. The rav 4 is a strong car and hopfully will get stronger

This is the 3rd RAV I've purchased. My first one was a 1997, then a 2001 and now my 2005. It's the most functional vehicle I've ever owned (except for the '97, two doors, too small and front- wheel drive only). The 2005 drives really tight, and the four-wheel drive gives me the confidence I need for winter driving. Superb stereo system. I do a lot of camping, and my RAV provides plenty of packing space, with the features of roof rack, removable rear seats a plus. For an SUV, it's very economical on gas, another plus with gas prices the way they are today. If I have anything negative to say about this vehicle is that I just don't drive it enough. Maybe a drive across country is in order

My husband and I are at an age where getting in and out of the low cars are almost impossible. The Rav4 is higher from the ground. All we have to do is slide right in. On a long drive, my hips and legs use to ache, but not with the Rav4. It sits high so that your feet and legs don't stick out straigt in front of you, as if you were sitting on the floor. We can't wait to go on our vacation this year with it. And the gas mileage is terrific.

I finally caved in to buy SUV due to my bad back and trying to put 2 carseats..This was the best compromise of carlike handling and fuel economy and ofcourse toyota rep.(we also have 03 sienna). I have thrown this SUV at 65 mph on corners and it did as well as my 99 altima..it also returned 27mpg on my first fill up. I paid $20000 all inclusive for basic 5 speed, FWD. It also did well in snow with std. VSC, and traction control..hopefully I will have safe winters with this car in Minnesota..

My RAV is actually an '04, but I feel that I should share my experience. I liked the vehicle at first, but several things began to bug me. First, I found the front seats front seats to be very uncomfortable if driving more than 30 minutes, and so did my passengers. Second, the back seat has horrible leg room - a problem if you have back seat passengers on a regular basis. Third, the rear hatch door seems flimsy and items fall out too easily. Also, the cabin seemed to cramped - and I am only 5'8" and 150lbs. My previous car was a Civic and somehow the cabin of the RAV seems smaller!I traded my RAV in for a '05 Honda CRV SE - much better vehicle over all - tons more room!

It's running great so far. one complaint I have is the car seat not really comfortable due to the headrest leaning forward and back support is not curve enough to support my back. I have to shop around to find a back rest to put it on my car seat :(

Had my new Rav for one week, put 150 miles on it already. I'm finding excuse's to drive it! I opted for the manual transmission because of the 4cyl engine....feels like a sports car. Very responsive and it is very tight in the turns. Not what I expected from an suv. Being 5ft, it is a pleasure to be able to see out the front and sit up high, and when getting out, you dont fall out! Has all options except leather heated seats. Looking forward to putting 150thousand plus miles on it, and having it still be worth something.

Bought this car for my wife who is just over 5' tall. She really likes the RAV's styling and visibility from sitting up high. We both like the point and go handling. Throttle is very responsive... I found the dealer's internet sales program very positive. Straight-up sales person claimed price was $300 below invoice, but added approx $300 advertising fee, which put vehicle right at Edmunds listed invoice price (including dest charge). Other dealers wanted to play stupid games and need to get a clue... We tried to find a vehicle with leather AND side curtain airbags, but dealer said Toyota isn't building them (cloth was OK). Side curtain airbags should be standard not an option (hello Honda).

I love my Rav 4. Mileage is fantastic, well within advertised range. More power than you would expect from a 4 cylinder; excelerates well when you need to "punch it". Beats the heck out of driving my Tacoma; more practical for my circumstances with the adaptable uses: lug cargo AND people with room left over. I drive it; it doesn't feel like it is driving me. I feel safe with Toyota in general, but with this vehicle in particular. Excellent for those of us who are "vertically challenged."
