We have had our 2005 Quest SL for 8 years now, bought new. It has been the perfect van for us. Spacious, strong engine, drives great (for a van), and gets decent highway mileage (we average 24 on trips). Electronically adjustable driver's seat. It was worth buying the extended warranties, as minivans (weight and usage) put a lot of stress on transmissions and suspensions. We used the warranty and saved a lot on major repairs common to the entire minivan category.

What a disappointment

We bought this van new, and over the last three years, we've put more around $5000 into. The digital dashboard display hasn't been clear for years. The heater in the back of the van doesn't blow. Now the transmission is failing, and we're looking for another car. We've had it serviced regularly and taken care of it, so I don't know what the problem is. If I want to take it to the dealership, they charge $98 just to diagnose it. The transmission guy told me that lots of people have had the same problem, and attorneys are preparing to file a class action suit.

I purchased the 2005 Quest SE fully loaded 10/05/04 having traded my 2001 BMW 325i. Almost nine years later, the van has safely taken my family 101,100 miles and counting. I have travelled across the USA and Canada, typically alone with four of my daughters. I’ve only had two upsetting issues. First, I had a ground fault issue around 40,000 miles that delayed a trip home for a couple hours. Then recently, the alternator failed 375 miles from home and involved almost 100 miles of towing and a rather costly repair bill. However, alternators do fail and the ground fault, although inconvenient, was minor. This van remains exceptional.

We've owned the car since fall of '07 and it's been a really beauty. I had to put a front wheel bearing in each side, but the van is now at 170,000 miles and still going very strong. Interior fit and finish isn't the best, but overall Nissan makes a very good engine and transmission. I can't complain. I would recommend a used Nissan Quest to anyone with kids or bulky stuff to haul. So MUCH more room than other SUV's out there. Don't buy an SUV to be in the in crowd. Accept the fact you have kids and get a van, save gas and haul all your stuff in comfort.

I bought my Quest SL new in 2005 with the extended warranty; I planned on driving it for many years. Well, I'm looking to trade it in way ahead of schedule. By the time it had 73K miles, the 4th alternator had to be put in! The first 3 were under regular warranty, the 4th under the extended. Currently it is in the shop having the computer replaced, to the tune of $2K out of my pocket. Oh, and the brakes? I can't count how many times they've been replaced. Sure, it is roomy, comfy on long road trips, the DVD player is a lifesaver with the kids, the drive is smooth, it was stylish in 2005, and the purchase price was good-all reasons I got it. In the long run-well-RUN! Not worth the test drive.

2005 Nissan Quest - Quality issues We purchased the car with 16k mi in 2008. Car now has 55k mi. We have replaced the struts in the tailgate door $700, motor in tailgate door $650, 4 sets of brake pads (front & rear), 3 sets of tires. Gas gauge does not work properly, sliding side door will sometimes decide not to close so you have to turn it on manual to shut, other side door freezes shut in winter time, rear windshield wiper has not worked since buying, a/c is intermittent, skirts that are supposed to hide under captains chairs will not stay attached and cause tripping hazards. Van avgs 16mpg overall, but a measly 13mpg city driving.

Well from reading many of the reviews it seems apparent that they are common.Our Car has had constant Brake problem from the time we bought it new..We now have 85000K and have the following list of repairs that need to be done from Nissan and 2 other Mechanics,3 Motor mounts,upper control arms,shocks and struts, Catalytic converter, selonoid, TRANSMISSION, ENGINE about to go, Bad piston noise, Brakes are almost gone again/rotors. NICE LIST, Total estimate from Nissan was $10,190.00 I would never buy Nissan again,when they checked the car they said to sell it/Trade it in.I will be doing exactly that but will get anything but Nissan.There is no way a car with 85000k should be this bad.

First of all, i hate this van so much. i have had terrible experiences with it. I have way to many to tell you. First off, the van is WAY to low and this causes my catalytic converter to break and change. The transmission is now seeming to have trouble and that's what many people say. IT only has 93k on it and many problems i have with it. the doors do not open at all and you have to tug really hard and the automatic trunk will not budge open without pulling on it and breaking off the latch that covers it! Too many noises such as creaking noises, outside noises, and many more. Blower motor goes out, and brakes will not last for more than 6 months!! I REGRET BUYING IT AND IM WARNING YOU NOT T

Huge Dissapointment

We purchased it brand new in '05. We had few complaints for 5 years. In January 2011 it started blowing smoke from the exhaust. The van had 30k miles on it and there were no "warning" lights coming on. Despite proper maintenance, the oil was low and sludgy. To condense a very long and frustrating story; we took it to the dealer multiple times trying to find the problem. $400 later we were told the engine was basically fried and they couldn't explain it. We tried to get assistance from Nissan as the van had low mileage. Our mechanic told Nissan it was not a maintenance issue, they refused to assist because I was missing a couple receipts to prove it was properly maintained.

this car has some really annoying issues. I purchased my 2005 Nissan Quest in 2006. It drives well. I replaced brakes about 18 mos ago and had to replace again a month ago. The rear windshield wiper has fallen off, the two sliding side doors are difficult to open due to the rubber being loose. The gas gauge and mileage has dissappeared making any trip outside of my town scary. The right side window is stuck open...but the left one is fine. The air vent, heating/AC in front of vehicle has stopped blowing air and the vent cover has fallen out behind driver street. Since this is a gently used vehicle i expected these minor issues not to happen.

80,000 nightmare

Bought this car last year. It only had 62,000 miles and all service records were produced. Thought we had lucked up, HOWEVER - brakes squeaked constantly - dealer tried to fix, but squeaking continued. A month in, the cd player broke. Went to open the rear gate and the trim that covers the latch came off in my hand! It is funny to count the ones we see around town with that piece missing. While on vacation, the check engine light came on at around 78,000 miles. Got back, called Nissan and was told that the converter was covered up to 80,000 miles, BUT since I had taken the car to my local garage instead of a Nissan dealer, they would not honor warranty. Just a 2010 VW - no more Nissans!

Bad auto mechanic

This van is huge. It has a lot amount of space for all seven people. then there's the problems. Fist two days after buying the van the service light went on. We take it to the dealership and the catalytic converter is bad. We leave for a ten hour trip the next day. They gave us a rental for a month! Then just couldn't fix the van. When we got it back it was making some weird noise. Take it to the shop, They can't here it. That's only the start. This vans been in the shop over 13 times, in 9 months. The next problem is the cheap booty materials. The worst part is how low it is. We live in the boondocks and we always bottom out. Although it has a smooth ride when its not broke.

The experience I had driving this car was wonderful. Very comfortable smooth really nice, I know some mechanics so I change my brakes, driver side Windows switch, but the fun ended when I started to hear a noise coming from the engine. I was not worried because ever since I bought this car I have changed the oil and oil filter every month no matter the mileage, I did always use Mobil 1 synthetic oil. Well to make a long story short the timing chain broke, and it damaged the engine. I took it to the dealer and I was 2 months shy of my warranty expiring, but my mileage was 120,000 they told me I was out of warranty. They told me I needed a new engine total cost $6600 good luck with your quest.

Purchased in April of 2005. Mostly happy with vehicle. Had to replace right half shaft, under extended warranty, and rotors twice. Went to after market slotted rotors and no more problems. I get 22 mpg mixed driving and 26 mpg on highway driving 70 mph. Seats are wider and pretty supportive for most people.

I bought a 2005 Nissan Quest with 6000 miles on it - nearly new. In five years I have changed the brakes 3 times, all belts, transmission, catalytic converter (warranty) and now the timing chain is going to need to be fixed. The Nissan Customer Service is of no help. I have owned many old school Nissans and believed them to reliable - not in this modern age! **DO NOT BUY THIS VAN** Get a Toyota instead!

Our old Suburban's engine blew on the way to St Louis so we unloaded it and searched for a replacement. Not having a lot of time for research and negotiation, we ended up with a 2005 Nissan Quest with 74000 miles. We really liked the features as well as the unique appearance both inside and out. It runs great, has excellent acceleration, and is very reliable. You can lay flat all the seats and load it to the hilt, and it still goes like it's empty. The seats aren't quite as comfortable as I'd like, nor is the mileage as consistently high as I had hoped. And I'll never buy from that dealership again as they severely took advantage of our situation. Otherwise, we love it!

We just bought this car a few days ago. We found out that we needed a new engine for something the previous owner hit. Nissan was so wonderful they gave us a brand new engine for free under factory warranty. Love Air Controls! Love amount of space, fold down second and third rows, and extremely comfortable!

I bought this van relying on the Nissan Brand and quality. My car has hit 68000 miles and it is only 4 years old. I need a complete new transmission - it has been diagnosed by a transmission shop, an auto mechanic and Nissan. I called Nissan's consumer affairs to get some understanding of why the transmission went out so early. I was given the run around but basically "sorry, we cannot assist you with your problem but thank you for being a Nissan consumer" On a four year car, I have replaced all four tires, brakes, driving belt and now I need a new transmission, one of my mountings is broken and the other needs replaced. Today's bill cost $3900. I am shocked. I should have kept my Dodge.

My car makes a loud noise & there is vibration in the front of the car when the car is accelerated. I brought the car in to the dealer lots of times for a period of over 3 months. They said I needed to replace the entire exhaust system. I paid to replace it but it didn't fix the problem. They then replaced the catalytic converters, fuel rails, engine mounts, adjusted the front cradle and finally the transmission. They couldn't fix the problem & Nissan corporation told me after replacing all those items on the quest, that the vibration & noise was normal for this vehicle & to just deal with the problem. Nissan acknowledge the car had a problem in the beginning, now they don't want to help.

Bought used in '06 with 18,000 miles. Liked looks compared to others in class. Problems have included broken rear wiper, door gaskets falling off, replaced rear lift gate motor. Tires were shot by 30,000. Replaced all 4 rotors, pads, and rear calipers. Extended warranty covered defective calipers, but brake job still cost $600. Have gone on a few road trips of more than 1000 miles and performance was O.K. Gas mileage on the highway is around 25 mpg with city near 20 mpg. Ride is a bit noisy at highway speed compared to an Odyssey or Sienna. I most likely would not buy another Quest. Honda or Toyota would be my first two choices.

This is the 3rd Nissan I have owned - the 1st one bought brand new. So far, I had to replace tires and brakes at 30,000 miles; driver's side sliding door latch literally fell apart (warranty); engine mounting bolts (!!!) fell out (warranty). One week after the 3-year mfg wty expired, my battery had to be replaced, the rear sonar sensor failed/not able to be reset, and one of the rear wing window closing assembly fell apart. Also, during cold weather, the sliding door cannot be opened. Rear trunk hatch does not latch well. Creaky/clicking sounds from the front end. I am grateful I bought the extended warranty - looks like it will be used a lot. When kids are big, I'm buying another Sentra.

Consumer Reports gave this car a low reliability rating but from my experience it has been great, with a couple of exceptions. Like others I noticed that the tires wear out at 30,000 miles and the brakes wear out at 20,000. And I thought my wife used the gas and brake at the same time. My favorite attraction: Safety: it had curtain air bags standard while others gouged the consumer to get them. I hear complaints about the readouts being in the center. They should get some reviewers that are not old fashioned and fixed in their ways. It only took a little while. My first attraction: it didn't have a ho-hum interior, but has a little excitement to it, even with just the standard package.

This van looks nice and that's about it. Our problems began at 4,000 miles and now we're at 45,000 and the problems have not ended. The van is in the shop every 4-6 mos. Exhaust bracket broken several times, 3 sets of brakes, 2 sets of rotors, header pipe, parking brake assembly replaced x 2 and tightened x 4, catalytic converter replaced, battery x 2. Nissan has had terrible customer service, even at corporate office. Customer service is not their #1 if you have a problem, only when you're there for routine maintenance.

When I caved to the need of a mini-van (hated the SUVs), I immediately liked the Quest new style. My husband was more satisfied with the design and didn't feel like he was driving his "wife's" car. Like the oversized chairs and roominess for driver, I personally love the center console and would not have changed it!! Downside has been the tires - headache to replace with weird size and they don't wear well, and the brakes have been ridiculous!!! Overall a good purchase for our family which includes a big teenage boy and preteen girl.

I bought this van brand new and loved the styling of it. For the most part, this is a great van. I love the skylights in the back, dual screens, heated side mirrors and leather seats, etc. That being said, another reviewer was right. Nissan should have equipped it with better tires. Mine have already been replaced and I don't really drive that much. Also, the driver's side power sliding door motor burned out after only 3 years of use. Since the warranty expired in Feb 08 and this happened in May, Nissan refuses to assist with the cost (which I think is poor cust service since it's a major repair and so new out of warranty. Not sure I'll go with Nissan again due to cust service.

I owned a 2001 Quest for years and drove it to over 130,000 mi before trading it in for this. Biggest mistake I ever made! I loved the old Quest. The newer one is spacious, but the blind spots when driving it were terrible. It didn't matter where I moved to, I just couldn't see well at all. Almost immediate muffler noises and front end noise. The front brakes go often in these vehicles because they are SO heavy and the brakes can't handle the size of the vehicle. Terrible gas mileage. Nice options, but not worth it. I didn't keep it 6 months! I started looking for something else 2 weeks after getting home with this one!

After driving all comers in the segment this is the one that my wife had to have. So far it has been a great purchase and has stopped all the hitting and fighting in the back seat. We have had a few issues: As everyone else states we have had the door rattles. This was recently fixed by the 3rd dealership we visited. When the van is left outdoors overnight and the temperature gets below freezing all the electronics except the throttle cease to work. This is very inconvenient in the middle of nowhere. the problem sorts itself out and the dealership has been unable to recreate the issue. I have turned the brake rotors once and am ready to do so again. I am sure this is due to wife's driving

I bought a new car thinking that that was the smart thing to do. I am so upset about my Quest. At 30,000 I took it into Nissan for the yearly VA inspection. They told me that I neede new breaks and that they were schocked how many miles I had on the car because most of the vans needed then at 20,000. I also needed new tires at 35,000 the van is too heavy of a car for the type that came with the van! That they did not have a milage garentee. I will never buy a NIsann again!!!!

After three years and 46,000 miles the van is still doing great inside and out. The Nissan Quest took quite a beating when it came on the scene in 2004 and in some instances rightfully so. However, our 2005 Quest has not missed a beat after three years of fairly heavy use. The van has had only normal maintenance nothing major, ever. Kids still absolutely love the van. Their friends still rate it a "10" and fight over who carpools in it. Four are still bugging their parents to buy a Quest because it is the "coolest van ever" or "the most technologically advanced van" they have ever been in. Van has held up exceptionally well.

When we purchased this van, we considered an Odyssey and a Sienna but settled on the Nissan based on the better negotiated price. While overall it is a nice van which meets requirements, the maintenance costs, problems, and fuel economy are not as expected. Plan on replacing tires and rear brakes (under normal city driving) at 30,000 miles and paying $800 for the same service. Tires we found much cheaper elsewhere costing $470 vs. $800 at the dealer. Also the power doors don't always work which the dealer cannot figure out. Using regular gas causes it to ping, so plan on using premium and getting 16 - 18 mpg. Best we could muster was about 23 highway. Third row seat is extremely heavy.

I purchased my Nissan Quest 2005 when it first came out. I have driven it throughout California, north and south. And let me tell you something I would never sell this car if someone paid me a million dollars! I just love it, it's fuel economy friendly. A full tank ($50) lasts me 2 weeks on average, including driving to work and sending kids to school everyday and also entertainment out of town at least once a week.

We like the van except for the inferior original tires (Goodyear LS-2). At 25K, needed to be replaced, unacceptable for a family touring vehicle. Why Nissan puts these crappy tires on baffles me. Have had some minor problems, purse holder broke on passenger seat ($13), passenger side seat belt constantly locks up, and auto air system doesn't always work right. Lots of room, comfortable ride hoping to be even better with decent tires. Have taken it on 3 long trips, comfortable for long trips (did 13+ hours just recently). Can't beat the features, looks different than any other minivan out there. The SE was worth the upgrade for the airbags and stereo, would recommend w/out stock goodyears.

We fell in love with the minivan at the dealership. It had plenty of power. Went on vacation the fuel mpg was showing around 20.8 mpg. However the mileage continued to get worse traded it in this week was showing 17.5 mpg. It was in the shop right after we bought it to repair the manual sliding door (drivers side) because it would not completely close all the way. The dealership swore we had wrecked the van since they could not fix it in their shop. Tires were bald at 29k miles and the front brakes were terrible. The car would shake badly when applying brakes during normal stops. For 30k don't buy one of these. Traded it in on a 2007 Nissan Armada. Will give Nissan one more chance.

We've had our Quest for just about 1 year now, and are approaching 30,000 miles. It's a super in heavy rain - great wiper design, windshield is sloped better too, compared to Villager for driving on highways passing trucks in the rain. Love the interior room, storage for chargers, ipods, etc. Automated back lift gate is great...even had good Nissan service when we locked keys in car while on road. Nissan Service department in St. Charles, IL is open late weeknights and open on Saturdays...couldn't be happier with the customer service hours and staff! We're road warriors for tennis travel...wouldn't switch for any other van and I've driven vans for 12 years now.

We have loved driving this minivan. We have 2 children which the roominess and TV are great for. It really does drive like a car, and accelaration is great. Drive is VERY smooth. I do a lot of woodworking and have tested out putting 4x8 sheets of plywood in, and yes, they do fit, but it is pretty tight. Still amazing though. The bad has been new tires at 30,000 and new brakes already, which Nissan blames on the weight of the vehicle. Yes, the doors do rattle, and we were aware of this potential problem before buying. However, the power gate has been giving us problems. It currently does not work, and Nissan has had our vehicle for 2 weeks and still can't fix the problem.

I purchased my 2005 Nissan Quest SE 4 months ago with 7,000 miles on it...let me just say, I love it! It is great and my kid's love it as well. I got the Autume Red (burnt orange) with the Burnt orange (rouge) leather with Black interior, 5 sky panels, two DVD and the list goes on, everyone that rides in it or see's it can't get over how stylish and rommy this van is. No problems at all and Awesome fun to drive. Only issue is gas mileage, wish that was a bit better, but over all 10+ rating! Very happy with it!

I bought my van new it is the first new vehicle I have ever bought and I love it!! I moved from NC to FL and used my van for much of the move. My grandchildren love having the DVDs where they can see it I have the dual screens and both seats can see what they want. Given a choice of riding with mom and dad or nonie they will ride with me. I had an incident and my van was well protected. I have no issues with this van.

We paid $21750 in June 2005 for our S model with auto door and hatch. It has all the safety features we wanted standard and came at a great price. Pros: --huge interior space! --High ceiling, great head room --BIG and comfy seats! --fold flat 2nd row seats!! Beats all competitions except Dodge. --fold flat 3rd row seat. --safety features standard! Cons: --no split folding 3rd row!!! Bummer! Favortite features: back up sensor, auto door&hatch, comfy seats, airy interior, fold flat 2nd and 3rd seats. So far, we've had no problems with the van, except for a few very minor interior squeaks since day one. It gets 20 mpg with mixed driving. Best van for the money!

i was hesitant about buying a rental, but the dealership and the performance of the vehicle are excellent. i had two minor problems, one a light was out and two the cd player/radio failed, both items were replaced. I had a nissan frontier as a trade in but the cab was two crowded for a man of my size, the van has more than enouth head, leg and overall room for the driver and passenger. The cargo space is very large. The roof racks do not appear to have much use, there isn't any cross bracing to stop the load from shifting front to rear.

My experience so far with the 2005 Nissan Quest S has been very positive. I have just over 20,000 miles and I am very happy with the Quest. There have been a few build quality annoyances like inoperable cd player and the drivers side manual sliding door was tough to open. The engine is strong and smooth; it's a great cruising vehicle. Lots of great standard features like power rear hatch and passenger sliding door. Cavernous interior.

The Quest provides a lot of utility, is very adequate on the highway, and provides decent gas mileage. After 20,000 miles, I am not happy with the number of times that I have been to the dealer (4 in 16 months) to have the sliding doors adjusted. Dealer says they all come back because the bushings wear out frequently. Exterior styling is very good compared to other minivans but the interior uses a lot of plastic and lower grade materials.

All though it is a great mini van there has been some problems. I've have had the rotors turned and new pads that did not fix the pulsation so they replaced with new rotors and pads again. now there was a clicking noise in the front end so the dealer replaced one cv joint. The driver side window regulator needed to be replaced because it was making a clicking noise now the passenger side window goes all the way up then comes down again the dealer said it needs a new motor that is on back order. All of these problems with only 18,000 miles

$38000 piece of junk. Leaks they can't fix, squeaks and rattles they can't find. From week to week it has been endless trips back to dealership for more bull. Windows go down, but not up, doors on side both rattle, even the radio had to be replaced, due to a bad one. Compression leaks, exhaust leaks, and when it rains, watch out. They can't find where it is coming in from, so deal with it. I was told that windows are not going up, because i don't give the relays time to adjust, funny just drivers side. Warped rotors, brakes etc.I have ust 10,000 miles on this junk heep. Nissan extended warrenty, 50,OOO MILES 6 YEAR. Like im going to keep this this long! Should have gotten the Honda.

Within a month of the purchase date, we had the van back into the dealer with a shaking problem when braking from extended driving periods. It was taken to the same dealer 4 times before it was finally diagnosed. It was not a safe feeling to be on an extended trip and wonder if you were going to make it home or not. Within a month of the last service visit, the driver sliding door began to rattle and squeak when driving over any type of bumps in the road. Then water began dripping through the sunglasses holder just above the rearview mirror. This was caused by improper sealing of the front windshield and they are having to replace the entire windshield. Bottom line...DON'T BUY A QUEST!

We also considered Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, but chose the Quest due to its unconventional, sporty & unique design & comfortable ride. Have 30k trouble free miles. Responsive engine, love the spaceship like instrument cluster & unique dashboard. Currently shopping for dashbrd kits to enhance interior. Just repl OEM tires 225-60r-17s (Gdyear)for 235-55r-17s as OEM tires are odd size but love the new (Pirellis) all season. Only maintenance performed: oil changes, 2 tire rotations & 1 nail in tire. Will schedule 30k checkup. Need to check in- cabin filter.

I read many reviews, loved the styling, peppy engine etc. Problem is, the the thing is poorly built. Constant rattling, noisy ride, brakes are touchy. The car has plenty of acceleration and on the highway in overdrive the engine does not labor. BUT..... I would not lease another. Thankfully my lease is up in May. I also own a Saturn Relay, which has it's own short comings, but I find it superior to the Quest.

We did alot of researching before making our purchase. We wanted a vehicle that was tops in passenger room (212 Cu Ft), cargo volume (150 Cu Ft, 2nd only to Chrysler w/Stow N Go) and had all the safety/convenience features. We got it. It has the most headroom and legroom of any minivan. At the time, it was the only van to have both 2nd and 3rd row fold flat seats. Huge sliding doors for easy access to 3rd row. Loved the 3-D Navigation system, not to mention that it's the only minivan to have available TWO DVD screens, one for each row. We are worried about the reliability results we've heard of late, but knock on wood (we had that added to our dash/etc) we haven't had any noteworthy problems

Perfect minivan for a family of five. The middle control panel is ergonomically user-friendly by both driver and front passenger and isn't obstructed by the steering wheel. Kids and grandmother have a great ride, too, with two DVD screens. The only downside to this car is the lower quality plastic used in the interior that creates some rattles.

I've only had my Quest for less than 1 month and I do not love it. For the money, you get a lot and not having to remove the rear seats are a big plus but the driver seat doesn't provide enough support and I slide around when turning. The lumbar support is extremely uncomfortable. There are lots of rattles in the car which Nissan tried to fix but couldn't. I love the looks and the drive but that's about it.

We bought the van in March and currently have 7500 miles on it. My wife traded it for a 2001 Chrysler Town/Country. The power and ride are very good - almost sporty - and it is comfortable, but the reliability is questionable and build quality needs improvement. We just got it back from the shop for a bad transmission control module, which was replaced under warranty; service was very good. However, the driver's storage hinge is broken, the a/c vents have fallen from the ceiling, silver finish on the steering wheel and shifter show wear - as does the material on center stack. It also looks like it will be hard to clean. However, it was significantly much cheaper than the Sierra/Odyssey.

Bought a 2005 Quest 3.5, last November. Drove it out of the lot and little radles started. Both side doors made numerous little sounds that would come and go. The seats were very comfortable on long trips over 1000 miles. Had to stop every 100 miles. Never buy cloth seats again. Just not up to Nissan quality. When I traded it in there were now sounds coming from the front doors. The dash in the middle needs to be larger and bigger button for the radio. Like the shifter up high really good taste.Great exterior with the modern front end. Need Altima back lights. Interior lighting was great. Drove like a full size car. My 17 year old daughter loved it when she went out with friends

We shopped around for a while before deciding on the Quest. Overall, the price, appearance, and interior room sold us. Really impressed how roomy it feels inside with all five of us in there -- but we were disappointed with some of the interior parts that either fell out or broke within a day of getting it. AC vent on celing fell right out onto my son's head without even touching it, and a button under the steering wheel jammed in and can't be retracted. Hate to have to go to the dealer for that. I think they could have given a little better quality to the inside and a split bench in the back would have been great. Otherwise, for the money, good deal.

This van is by far the most fun to drive van available. Test drive consisted of a twisty stretch of two lane I regularly hit on my GSXR. This van handles wonderfully, has good power and is comfortable for the entire family, even the rearmost seat.

I don't agree that the consumer report rated right on acceleration for the Quest. The acceleration should be Excellent instead of Good. We did test drive on 2005 Honda Odyssey EX and 2005 Toyota Sienna LE together with 2005 Quest. The Quest excels on acceleration, overpass and uphill climb with high speed driving on highway. The Quest kept up its pace without acting as if it was being flogged like Odyssey and Sienna. We like the Quest smooth ride on the high speed over 75 miles/h. Other facts made us the purchase of Quest 3.5, are the bold Style, powered sliding door/gate, and the value over the price.

The transmission was replaced at 10,000 miles. At 17,000 miles the seal on the new transmission had to be replaced. Yesterday I was driving and the transmission would not shift out of second gear. Yes the overdrive was off and the transmission was not in low. That's the same thing it did before the first transmission was replaced. The rear sliding passanger door rattles. It has been repaired three times. The back of the drivers seat fell off. And the A/C works poorly. I'm hoping to lemon law this thing.

I have had nothing but a postive experience with my 2005 Quest. It came with all the bells and whitles for less than lesser equipped Siennas and Odysseys. It has the style of a SUV with the convenice of a minivan.

We just got a Quest and love it. Much larger inside than expected, with tons of storage space. The wife loves the sotrage hooks. Drives very smooth over all terrain so far. Power rear door and side slider VERY useful when raining and a shopping trip to Walmart with the family. The 4 speed auto tranny kicks down sometimes when I don't want it to for extra oomph. Also, please measure your garage if you plan on putting it in there. Our Quest barely fits in there, but at least it fits.

Purchaced in NC. Drove it back to Ny in the Hurricane. It handled every watery twist , turn, & sudden stop. The van was fully loaded with household items. Not top heavy as many vans are. Handled sudden lane changes and exits well. The adjustable brake pedal is great.The heated seat was a blessing for my bad back.I still have my 1987 Maxima Wagon, it has 226,000. miles. still looks and runs well. I hope to have the van for as long.

I got this SE Quest for 2 months now for a price well below Edmunds TMV price. I bought it at Trophy Nissan in Mesquite Texas for 32200 +TTL. So far, this vehicle performs nicely. Power is definitely better than Toyota Sienna, but is about the same par with Honda Odysee. The exterior and interior are truly stand out. Mine has a sunroof and 4 fixed glass roof for the 2nd and 3rd row seats. There are 2 video screens, lots of reading lights, cup holders, overhead storage. Back seats are very comfortable that you feel like sitting in a 1st class row in airplane. Interior space is huge, you will be able to walk up and down the rows without walking outside.

I am a 25 year old mom of two and am in the car a lot! When I saw the Quest, I thought it was so cool looking and sporty. My husband wanted an SUV, but the second row in all the SUV's with a third row were tiny in comparison to the van. I was looking for major interior space, and I found it! I can put a wagon or my daughters bike in the back without folding any seats down! I have had my van for 3 months and am loving it! The power doors and lift gate are awesome. I also love the DVD player. My husband was suprised at how fast it accelerates and it is really fun to drive. I can beat teenagers off the line in it! I was looking for a cool family hauler and I found it! I love my Quest!

We now have over 10,000 miles on an 05 Quest SE used as a company car. We found most auto writer reviews just plain wrong. Side doors and back are bigger than competitors. Ride, handling, and feeling of safety in bad weather is very impressive. The 3.5L engine is great, and we have logged several tanks of fuel over 26mpg - the EPA highway figure! average over first 6,000 miles including break-in and Winter driving was 22.8. A/C works very effectively. Contrary to reviews, second row seats do fold down with headrests in place. The mid-level sound system is good. Four different drivers operate this vehicle regularly and report that the center-mounted speedo takes 15 minutes to get used to.

Traded this thing off after less than 2 years. I'll summarize: Airbag recall (took 2 trips and still didn't operate correctly); burned-out tailight; interior map lights and overhead A/C vents constantly fall out; high-speed shimmy that can't be fixed; rear & side doors squeak and rattle; window motor burned out; oxygen sensor went out; A/C won't shut off sometimes; DVD player went out, and the final straw: the transmission hung in 2nd gear until I restarted it. Run away, if you even get close to one.

My wife and I Just bought our Quest. We love the space for everyone. The sporty look and the cockpit area is great. Everything is right at your fingers, and easy to reach. We are getting great gas mil. with the first tank of gas already, and you can not beat the power of the engine. My wife has joked about sleeping in the van. A good looking, good driving van. It draws compliments wherever it goes. Fit and finish is good in and out but interior materials seem cheap to me. A vehicle that sells for over 30k shouldn't have to use a prop rod to hold the hood open, Air conditioner works well but fan is noisy. Heater is barely up to the task.

I am very happy day by day to have mi new Nissan Quest 3.5S 2005, runs like a car, comfort inside,(seats, view, space, quietness) is excelent, for 23,500 plus taxes and Dealer charges($ 25,450 Total)is excelent. The radio-CD works great..good in gas 19mpg combine, with Regular gasoline. Ride is excellent..I love it!! Thanks Nissan.

With all the reviews I've observed, this was the only minivan I considered. I'm glad I chose Quest since it is powerful, handles very well especially for a minivan, has so much room for passengers and storage. I'm still breaking it in, but it has enough torque to zoom zoom under 4k rpm.

Traded in a pt cruiser turbo gt and cant believe how refined the quest is compared to the pt. The quest has a smoother, quieter ride, more power, more room, better gas mileage, handles better, more standard "toys", less torque pull on the steering wheel, etc etc. I really enjoy driving the quest. It corners like a sports car. I added 2" oversize hubcaps and they are absolutely perfect for the quest. Gives it an entirely different look. Sportier than ever! Added a nissan nose mask and it fits perfectly and really protects the front of the quest. Next additions will be a less restrictive "homemade" cold air intake and a straight through glass pack muffler.

We'll soon add a new baby seat to the 2 infant seats we have in my wife's Passat, so had to move Minivan. My wife did not like having to give up here sportiness and power, but have found a worthy replacment in the Quest. Compared it to the Mazda MVP, which is also sporty, but was smaller and would not "grow" as well with the kids. Only hit 500 miles so far, but love it. Was worried about getting used to the center consol concept, but it did not take long to adjust. Too early to say for sure about reliablity, but looking good so far, and no obvious build problems.

We just recently bought the new Nissan Quest after owning a Honda Passport and needing more room. I love it. I fought the whole 'minivan' thing because I could never find one I actually liked looking at and riding in! The Quest is so different. It drives beautifully, very similar to my husband's Infiniti I30. It doesn't feel to me that I'm driving a minivan and I actually am surprised when I turn around and see so much room. Plus it gives me the safety of the Odyssey without having the same car as most of the other moms in my sons' carpool. All in all, I'm thrilled. I have the room I want while still driving a car that is safe, reliable, and cool!

I sold a 2001 Windstar to get this van. Its HUGE inside! It handles and stops like a sports car. It flat flies! Its getting about 3 MPG more than my Windstar! There are no blind spots! The Bose system is worth every penny. The DVD system is excellent. The build quality (fit and finish) is far better than the Windstar. It doesnt look much like a mini-van, it took a while to get used to the center guages, but I kinda like them now. Tons of storage inside, all over the place.

This is a great minivan. I keep looking for excuses to drive it. It's comfortable yet exciting with wonderful engine, crisp 5 speed automatic transmission, tight around corners, distinctive styling, ample interior space (I'm 6ft tall and I can easily walk from the driver seat to all the way back to the 3rd row.) This is the only minvan with personality.

From the first moment sitting behind the wheel i felt this seat is the most comfortable seat that i have ever sat in and this van gives me a feeling of confidence even in the heaviest traffic, due to the drivers view. The styling is way ahead of the other vans, kind of racy looking and not a typical shoebox style. My passengers love riding in it, i have tried out the various seating positions just to get a feel of the ride and found that i agree with them. I had to pick up 6 pvc pipes that were 10 ft.Loom by 3 inches. That were no problem in fitting them in with room to spare. This is a vehicle that i plan on keeping for a long time.

It did take me a short while to get used to driving this very large van after seven years in a Caravan Sport. But after a few weeks I was really loving it - especially playing with all the amenities. And the steering is excellent! There was one problem - the side passenger doors made noises. I can't say enough for Foothill Nisson (where I go for service) who found a recall (first year of the model) and carefully fixed it. To make up for the inconvenience, Nissan added two years to the warantee which I thought was really great!!

My husband and I decided on the Quest after finding our 3rd son was on the way. We purchased it when I was around 5-6 mnths and had ample room for the 2 boys who were 4 and 7 at the time . The car seat went in one month before I was due AND still the 2 boys had AMPLE room to roam from sit to seat. Had some recalls on them but most of them were minor things that took no more then a day to fix and wasn't a real inconvience for m me. The Quest is great for growing families my 3 boys have enough room to stretch and have their "space" from each other .

I love my new Quest! Safety features galore, VERY comfortable ride. Make sure you get the floor mats, Edmonds review says that it is a "typically equipped option" also, I'm ordering the seat protectors and fog lights. Got used to the POD style immediately, still not sure that I like the hood area on a side view it reminds me of a morphed VW on steroids! One thing for sure, the styling is unmatched!

I have been a Nissan vehicle only for the past decade. My decision was enormously influenced by the sleek Quest designs. I have just driven 800 miles since I bought it a couple of months back and the passenger side door doesn't open or close properly. This Van is pretty hard on the gas and the transmission slips at times. Plus Nissan of North America corporate folks are pretty "customer unfriendly" if approach them for any post car buying issues.

I don't care what any of the "big auto folks" say, this minivan is fantastic!! I haven't had any of the problems that have supposedly plagued it. I think some folks just had a little "buyers remorse" when they started having to make the payment. The exterior design sets it apart from other minivans...very sleek, and futuristic. The interior is very spacious with TONS of storage everywhere. And yes, I even like the gauge cluster in the middle...it's different, and I like different. Great get up and go, and extremely quiet! And definitely spend the extra $ and get the Bose sound system...nothing like turning the kids heads on the road like a booming minivan!!

Bad; Very thin exterior sheet metal. Brake pads and rotors only good for 15K. Atleast 3 recalls,leaks in passenger door, moon roof. Second row seats even w/ extra charge are NOT 'fold flat'. Front seats are very uncomfortable, feels like plywood. Gas milage is 9 mpg worse than my '98 'Vette. Hate the varible steering while parking. Should have indicator of what lights are on or off and lights should go on auto. when wipers are on. Good; Great space, am-fm above par with speed variable volume, separate a/c and heat in back great. Heated front seats good and motorized side and back doors are well worth it.

I've had my minivan over a year now and I still love it. The model is the 3.5 SE, It has all the skylights, bells and whistles. Mine is dark gray with the rouge and black interior. We took it on a family vacation last year from Massacusetts to Washington DC, to South Carolina. I have 3 kids and there was room for all of them, and all the luggage we brought with us. I have the 2 DVD package, and the navigation system and it definitely was worth the money.

Nissan needs to work on quality control for the Quest. Ours has developed rattles everywere, skyview window leaks, and the right side sliding door is sticky just to name a few. The dealer has attempted to fix most of our complaints, and Nissan did extend the warranty to 5 years/60K for free, but for a van this pricey it should not have the problems it does The engine and transmission combo are a plus. I love the quest, have had it since last June and have put 18000 miles on it so far. Only problems have been in twice with the rattling sliding door. We are leaving for a 1100 mile trip to Florida and my 3 kids can't wait. It is a really comfortable traveling car, can't say enough!

If you dont want to go wrong with a minivan, get the honda. If you want absolute versatility and value, get the toyota. If you want to drive around town in STYLE and have the PERFORMANCE to boot, the Nissan Quest outdoes everyone. Lots of compliments from strangers on looks. Love the V6-240 vroom as I pull into HWY uphill. Own 1997 grand caravan and 2003 caravan and way too weak for me. Power steering easier on dodges, quest hard to steer when parking. Lots of minor build issues; seat&door recalls, inferior interior plastics, windshield washers trash, heavy wipers, etc...nothing major. Nice innovative dash, not for gramps though; but I love it-great road vision and LCD. Best spacious cargo

We absolutely love the Quest. It is very cool looking and very roomy. It also has alot of nice features which are included in the base price unlike other vans. It rides great and handles really well. The seats fold down into the van which is really nice and its user friendly. We would not consider ourselves van people thats why the Quest is so great because it looks like a cross between an SUV and a minivan. Its very appealing to the eye. Great Buy!!

I figure the price I can paid for the Minivan 2005 3.5S, the price was at Dealer $25,850.00 and I make deal for $23,500.00 + 6% NJ Taxes and few xtras..(close to $ 2000.00) Great Minivan, run like a Mercedes and is fast.Use to Own a Caravan 98SE..another good one, but this one is far out in Luxury, Xtras and great price. I use the Internet to get prices without giving Phone#, only name and address (salesman's dont come home).AllBrands was the best.. Mileage looks better that my Dodge Caravan 98SE, so far 330 miles and feel great. Wife love it..Stereo is a Symphonic..great brakes and ride..the best!! Too many xtras like sonar,Electric doors,etc...

I purchased a 2004 Quest in March of 04. I have been disappointed ever since. In the 11 months that I have owned the vehicle, I have accumulated a total of 23 quality problems that need to be addressed by the dealer. Nissan has issued a quality recall for most 04 quests, which included items from poor insulation to replacing trottle pedals. I have experienced loss of power at stop lights, seat belt latches that stick, audio buttons that don't function, Driver door that is loose and tries to pry open at highway speeds. If your money and safety are important to you, I would seriously consider another vehicle. Nissan rushed this car to the market and it shows in every way.

Compared this vehicle to the new Honda and Toyota Sienna. We liked the exterior styling; the huge interior; foldaway second row seats; big side doors; outstanding engine/transmission setup; excellent manueverability and road holding for a minivan.

A direct quote from the dealership "we only sell them we don't make them" and after talking to the service manager he said "would I ever buy a Quest? No Way!" So thats our experience. After six months of trying to repair a rattling coming from wheel housing in rear seat, I am finally 100% thrilled with my Quest. The car was in the shop quite a few times to try to figure out how to repair my rattling problem. This is quite common in first year models, so Nissan went back to drawing board and found a way to fix the rattling noise coming from rear seat. Even though it took quit awhile to fix, the dealership did everything possible to keep me happy. They provided great timely service. They also provided a courtesy car for me to use. I would highly recommend Fred Martin Nissan in Green, Ohio.

I test drove all four comparible models and then chose the Nissan Quest. I liked its sporty exterior styling, the tight sporty drive (I drove a Maxima right before it), the comfort and room. I thought I might find the placement of the gauges a little strange, but actually found that their placement gives you more road visability both day and night. the comfortable ride for passengers was also a plus. While the rear seat fold up is a little heavy, its not unmanageable. I also noticed that it is the quietest ride of the four. Amazingly, the Honda was the noisiest and the least fun to drive. The plastic parts listed as cons by Edmunds are not really a negative. they are easy to maintain and are very "wearable".

I couldn't be more pleased after several months of ownership of my Quest Van 3.5 SL, I am glad I went for the SL. Didn't want leather or skyroof so the SL with Running boards and Roof Rack was perfect, not to mention the 5- SP auto Transmission. Talk about power and room, not to mention all the drivers eyeing my Quest and saying"he really knows how to pick a secret weapon in the large Mini van class. It takes some getting use to because of the beautiful long and wide wheel base, but it is well worth geting use too. My gear plus my full size Lab hound love this van.

I have only had it a couple of months, but so far it has been terrific. We took a trip in it to Disney World and everyone had plenty of room for stretching out and we got a lot of thumbs up from passersby at the sleek design. I get asked a lot about it at gas stations. Besides the 2004 Quest SL with 33,000 miles we run a 2000 Odessey and 2001 Sienna.Quest- most fun to drive (comparing their 1st year of operation) with the best combination of effortless road handling, speed, comfort and quiet,stereo. The body construction both inside & out seems less durable than others. Auto rear door hatch - great feature when carrying parcels. Unfortunately the lift device on our's just fell off. Instrument controls -too confusing (all digital with no manual click and stay buttons). The digital buttons are flush- tricky to engage-distracting. When the van is shut off the fan defaults to feet. Bracket holding adjustable pedals very dangerous-scathes toe. Hard on fuel

Traded my 2003 Lexus RX300 as I needed more room and got all of that PLUS so many other nice features to boot. Yes, Lexus has better build quality but Nissan Quest has as good of a highway ride if not better, much better performance, better gas mileage as I get 22 locally and 25 highway with AC on and 26.5+ with AC off. It took a while to get accustomed to center pod but once you drive it at night, you will love it as it's easier to see at night with the pod in the center. Some want bigger gas gauge but no problem with me. Rtired and live in FL now, we often take five or six out. Plenty of room for all including golf clubs. Everything works and like it better then my 2001 Odyssey.

Who says a minivan can't be fun to drive?...I personally thought the only thing I would drive with mini attached to it would be a Mini Cooper. However with our second child coming in January we began looking for something with more space. After shopping the competition we were happy to find a mini van with everything we wanted and more. We purchased the SE with smoke exterior and rouge interior. It truly is a piece of art. The fit and finish is perfect. Everyone I have given a ride to comments on how un-mini van like it is...and how it is very sporty and fun. My wife and I have been big Volkswagen fans for years. This van makes me want to go 100% Nissan.

We chose this minivan based on safety, reliability and looks. We are very happy with it, and it is great for transporting kids, the dog, stuff, etc. Lots of room for parents to get up and move around if there is a "crisis" in the back seats! We haven't had a chance to try it in the snow and ice yet. Hopefully it will do well in that area. We get lots of compliments on the styling and the ride.

Excellent Family Van

Very nice van to drive that is relatively quiet. It does not feel as heavy and bulky as it really is. Fantastic acceleration, solid braking (althought soft pedal), and reasonable cornering ability. The kids love the dual screen DVD (I love the sound of silence that eminates from the rear). The Navigational System is wonderful. The center console design is really nice when the van is equipped with a Nav. system. Everything is right there in the center and your eyes track to the same area for speed and direction versus down for speed and over for direction. The AC and fan controls are right there also within easy reach. Passenger door ticking appeared at 500 miles (fixed).

I love the styling both inside and out, the controls were a little awkward at first but quickly got used to them, its really agreat place for the gauges, Performance is excellent ant its a real head turner, I get more comments on it than any vehicle I have ever owned including Mustangs and Muscle cars. My only complaint is that it is hard to back into a parking spot straight, there is nothing straight on the van to use as a reference

We have waited for over three years to get the quest in a blue with lether int. and finaly they came out with one. It handles great and has all the room for us and the grnadchildren. They love the dual DVD and being able to see it from the second and third row seats with no fighting as to who will set by the DVD screen. I would recommend this minivan to everyone. It has a larger area for storage even with all seats up than any of the other vans its' size, and we checked all of them before getting this one.

I have owned 8 Mini-vans in my life. Before this purchase, I drove all of the major manufacturers mini-vans and the Nissan was the best driving and riding of all tested. The independant rear suspension, rear wheel disc brakes, fold down seats, and most important, the engine power which is outstanding and other quality items left me with only one choice, which was the Nissan quest. The more I drive the more I love it.
