Very spacious inside with lots of leg and head room. The only downside is cargo space is limited if using all available seating. The other option is to use the roof rack if needed.

No doubt the Armada is cool. Step on the gas and it pounces forward, and it looks aggressive. All the pillars are annoyingly thick however. For the first 100000 miles we were pretty happy with it but at that point it kind of started to disintegrate. 6,000 dollars in one year on things that shouldn't go wrong like diffs and suspension components. Also, there's significant rust coming in around the rear wiper and the rear wheel arches. This is unacceptable on a 5 yr old car that is garaged every night. Every time we've used it to do real work, it's broken. I like it but I sure wouldn't buy another.

Update from my July 2007 review. We bought this in 12/2005. Now has 90,000 miles, and it still drives great. Wife doesn't want anything else. Still very solid, drives great, and no significant problems. We can afford a new one, but there is no need yet. Still load it down for vacations with 6 people and luggage carrier. Driven through blizzards, pulled trailers, and it's still wife's daily driver. Great truck! She will want a new one eventually, and I will probably keep this one for a work/ranch truck.

Love my "Batttleship"

I'm a big guy with a big family, so this is the perfect vehicle. Yes it is a thirsty beast, but I knew that going in. This is by far the most comfortable vehicle I've owned. Family trips are great with six of us and our gear easily accommodated. Pulls my camper with ease. Handles amazingly well for its size. Moves the soccer team and school band like a champ.

Pretty happy with the "Beast"

We purchased ours used with 30k miles. It had a brake issue within the first two months, but this was corrected by Nissan under warranty. Other than that we have had no complaints. This is the ultimate family vehicle! We had a Yukon before, there is no comparing the two. The Armada takes it to a whole new level. If you have kids and need to haul them and their gear and like to do it in comfort and style, this is your truck. Fuel mileage is not great, but when you think about the added safety and cargo room, it is a fair trade off.If you have to commute 30-40 miles a day, then perhaps the Armada is not for you, but for hauling groceries and taking kids to soccer Mom can do no better!

Worst Vehicle I've ever owned. Rattles like a "tin can". Front window/door panel rattles all the time. Dealer supposedly fixed problem but still rattles, drives me crazy! Had the brakes fail on me when approaching a stop light. Something to do with the VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) module. Nissan has known about this problem and still no recall? A/C doesn't blow cold even though their is enough freon in the system. Takes up to 30-40 minutes before blowing cool, not cold. Have had two fuel injectors replaced before 40,000 miles, thankfully it was covered under my extended warranty. All in all this vehicle was poorly engineered. Would not recommend to anyone. Buy Chev. Tahoe instead!

Bought this 05 model in 12/05 preowned with 16K miles, in immaculate condition. No brake problems at all. We have had it 18 months and it now has 39,500 miles. It literally has never been in the shop, and it still drives perfect. Wife's daily car and she loves it. I am impressed every time I drive it, to the point that I want one also. We're considering a new '08 with all the extra options (roof, 4X4, DVD, nav). I loaded it with 4 adults, 2 kids, too much luggage, roof luggage rack, trailer hitch rack and drove it 80+ mph on West Texas Interstates for 1,200+ miles round trip to NM. It surprised me how smooth, powerful, and stable it was. Still got 17.3 mpg

Only problem was fixed under warranty. Nissan redesigned brake rotors and replaced mine free. Very fast, reliable, all the bugs have been worked out. After owning it for 2 years, its still my favorite car to drive. I also own a vette convertible and G35. It is more quiet than the G35 and better for long road trips. I drove it to VT and drove in 6" of snow without problems. Great truck that I recommend to everyone. Get an '06 leftover if you can. The "improvements" for '07 aren't worth the extra money.

I cannot stress to you about how much my 05 Armada has been giving me problems. I have to take it to the dealer every couple of weeks to get something fixed. From the A/C to the automatic tailgate. The A/C wouldn't give out cold air. It takes about 15- 20 minutes for it to get going. The steering wheel vibrates when you go 55 mph or more. The DVD system would not play the DVDs. The front headlights got water stuck inside of them because they were not installed correctly. The CD player would not eject my CDs. I went to the grocery store and I had a whole bunch of foods for Thanksgiving and the tailgate would not open. You could not manually open it or even open it with the remote.

Full size, luxury SUV with all the trimmings. Towing is a breeze with the 5.6 L powerhouse. Interior amenities cradle the passengers in traveling bliss. The Bose sound system is remarkable and the integration of electronics components is well thought out and leaves you saying,"Cool, Now why didn't someone think of that sooner?" Versatility of the interior space is excellent, storage pockets and cup holders for all occupants. Overall an outstanding vehicle, superb quality and craftsmanship. High marks for the design team. Makes driving a big, chunky vehicle fun, not too long to park and excellent turning radius. Looking forward to many happy years of driving this vehicle.

Husband was too tall for the Lexus RX300, so we traded it for the Armada. Took some time to get use to, but I am finally loving this BEAST. It's a big SUV that deserves a bow. It handles well and has a lot of power when I need it. Nav needs help, did send me to the wrong location. It carries all of my shopping with no problems, along w/ husband, toddler and dog in tow. I get compliments on this SUV everywhere I go. I feel safe, but I pay for the safety and the looks at the pump.. This beast is always hungry for more gas, what SUV isn't? Overall, I am very happy with our purchase. You get alot for what you pay on this SUV.

I would buy this over and over

I looked at large suvs' for over a year. Not for one second have I regretted purchasing my Armada. It's huge inside, the engine roars get out of my way, and the thing moves. If you know how to responsibly drive a large suv, you'll love this truck. My friends are amazed at how this thing handles. And I'm never short to offer rides. Let's face it, all large suvs' have paltry gas mileage. But, you gotta pay to play. I absolutely love this truck.

I was caught off guard that this truck has worked so well. I read a lot of bad reviews and was cautious about this truck. I get compliments on its looks all the time and I can haul my kids and all their stuff with no problem. The power is great and it is geared nice, this big dude can really get on the freeway in a hurry. The backup camera is great and my sons love the DVD. I even watch it while when I have to wait in the truck. The dealership has been good to me also. I ran into the brake shaking problem and they solved it in a few hours at no cost. Other than that, the truck is tough and has run great.

We bought this SUV the day before Houston was in full evac for Hurricane Rita. It got us out of town and all the way to Dallas without a fuel stop, which was good since there was no fuel! We love the truck and have since moved to Denver. Wish we had 4WD now, but will have to make the best of it. Beware, as many other posts have noted, the rotors will warp at 5K miles. Nissan will fix it, but it is a problem. If you're buying a new '05, make them fix it before delivery. Other than that, it is a fine truck.

I'm not sure at what factory my Armada was assembled, but there were simply too many parts that were either not installed at all, or installed broken. Also, the under dash squeaks and window rattles are driving me nuts. I did get the brakes fixed, but the parts that needed fixing were the redesigned parts, so I'm not confident they're truly fixed. I love the power, but given the choice, would not buy this vehicle again.

After more ownership, things just get worse. Poor build quality: more things keep falling off/apart. Intermittent failures such as door sensors claiming that a door is ajar when it isn't. Climate controls are AWFUL! Blows 110 degree hot air even down to 65 F setting on the display and the next notch below (60F) blows cold air with NO heat! Impossible to get comfortable. Have to press the seat 1/2 memory buttons with about 50 pounds of force to get them to activate. Many other nit picks. Our worst vehicle by far, and we've owned more than a half dozen SUV's over time!

Very little to complain about. I have switched over from a series of Dodge Ram trucks and will never go back. This SUV is superior to any other large truck or SUV I have ever driven. The only complaints would be that the power seat controls tend to accidentally adjust while getting in and out of the vehicle and laying the seats flat for storage is not a completely simple task. Besides that, it is fun, big, smooth and more powerful than even necessary. Highly reccomend this truck.

We purchased this vehicle after researching several other options, including the Tahoe/Yukon, Escalade and Sequoia. I fell in love with the automatic lifting back hatch, with a 3 yar old and newborn it is very accommodating. My husband loves the 3rd row seating, it is very spacious and your knees aren't in your face. Very comfortable and I would highly reccomend this vehicle for someone looking for a large SUV.

Brakes twice, both front windows, door latches, defective tire, and lots of rattles! Definitely doesn't like cold weather. Also, very dissapointed in Nissan, as they are not willing to stand behind their product. Only good thing is the look and the loads of room inside.

Had to trade my Nissan in after only 3 months. The rattles drove me about insane. Live in the cold country and it depended on the weather which rattle would occur. When I traded it in, had to tell dealer that the rotors were going. Had the 4x4 light go on with out any reason then go off. Dealer said that computer didn't show the light going off. NOT IMPRESSED. Bought a Denali can't even compare the two.

The Armada has made a much comfortable ride for my family. It allows my growing boys plenty of room and space from one another while being able to cargo the groceries for a family of 6. The pricing of the Armada is affordable while the style is elegant. Nissan is a reliable name and doesn't get the credit it deserves, however, for me and my family we feel fortunate to own a nice vehicle and not have it cost as much as our house.

A Nissan Failure. Very poor in quality, poor braking system. Rotors are too small and warp between 3k-4k. Sunroof leaks and rattles. Rattle sounds through out entire truck. Poor radio reception and navigation system will not work in cold weather until vehicle reaches warm temperatures. Also though your wheel alignment may be fine the steering wheel itself becomes off centered. My Armada has been in the shop for all of the above problems 16 times in the first full year. Not where a new vehicle $40K+ belongs unless it's a Lemon, the Armada is a lemon. The truck has already lost $20K in trade-in value. Thats a big hit just to get out of this and in to something more reliable.

Had some problems with the brakes, had to take it for service 2 times. Fuel economy could be much much better but for a big V8 should be expected. Some noise in the back but once again SUV, should be expected. Overall I would say a good solid SUV. Ton of room for a large family. Navigation is great. Cargo room is very convinient. Power liftgate helps. SVT is a great feature to have, keeps the truck on the ground. Had the truck since February, goes through snow like knife through butter.

Just traded in my '04 Armada after two years of making payments on a Dodge Neon because my Aramda was always in for service. Too many problems to list - brakes were repaired two different times and still didn't work properly, radio crackles, sunroof leaks, brakes!!!, squeaks and rattles which drive me nuts. The interior always had something rattling. Residual value after two years was disappointing losing over $20000 of the purchase price. Nissan knows there are problems but doesn't take care of the poor souls that have '04s. Hopefully the 06 model will address some of the concerns. Very happy in my new Lexus!!!!!!!

It's only been two months for us, but aside from the dismal gas mileage, this vehicle has been all we hoped it would be. There is an annoying click, or, slight hitch in the driver and passenger power windows as they go down. Not sure if that is common to other Armada's. A bi-fold thrid row seat would be prefferable to the current 'all-up' or 'all-down.' It would just give you more seating and cargo options. If I had to guess, I'd bet that Nissan corrects this for future models. But its eye-catching good looks and thoughful features like a power liftgate, rear sonar, mud lights, and fold-flat 2nd & 3rd row seats have made it very nice. Oh, did I mention the power? Wow...

Beautiful vehicle! WOW. I did however have it in the shop within 2,000 miles. There is a KNOWN defect on the braking system in the 2004 & 2005 Armada's & Titan's that Nissan has chosen not to share with the customers unless it becomes a problem. Supposedly there are no parts available to make the repairs on the brakes at this time, so they are temporarily turning the rotors to keep the vehicle from "skipping" when attempting to stop. GAS mileage is horrible. If you enjoy spending time at the gas pumps, then this vehicle is meant for YOU. All jokes aside, it is a beautiful vehicle. I just wish they had shared the braking problem with me when I bought it.

The design of the Armada sets it apart from all it's competition. Moving away from the boxy sameness that the American automakers have had for the past 10 years, the Armada stands as a refreshing design with great road "presence." The comfort of driving is excellent with a very generous interior, superb quiet at highway speeds, excellent acceleration, and a tow capability of almost 10,000 lbs. Many creature comforts are included and the interior has the feel of a first-class seat on a 767, including excellent rear leg room. The gas mileage is typical for a large, heavy vehicle but a small price to pay for the many advantages a vehicle this size gives for hauling cargo and passengers.

This car has more rattles than Baby Superstore!! I've had mine in the shop for various noises 6 times in 6 months and I'm trying to work in the 7th. It's the worst built car I've owned in the last 5 years (including a Mercury Sable). I'm actually thinking of taking the hit and trading it in for a Honda. I've owned a Maxima and G35Coupe and both were excellent. The quality of this one is disappointing. The gas mileage is on the low end of the EPA estimates so be prepared to shell out the cash. It is fun to drive, has plenty of storage and comfortable seats 8.

After driving a very reliable 2001 Ford Expedition for 89,000 miles it was hard to make the change but then I drove a Nissan Armada. It handled so much better and had so much more power it was fun to drive. It looks bigger but handles like a smaller SUV. It gets better gas mileage and is no harder to park than the Expedition. Hopefully its resale value will also exceed my expectations.

We really like this Armada LE 4WD so far the only problem was the rear hatch sensor would only allow the door to close about 50 % of the time. It took three visits and a free rental car before they discovered the problem. We really enjoy the Bose 265 watt 10 speaker sound system. This SUV rides very nice and quiet I might add. Yes it uses a lot more gas than my Mercury Grand Margue did. We don't have the Nav package but that is fine. Lots of people stop and gaze at it. The 4 captains chairs and two consoles are nice along with the rear A/C controls. The roof mounted air bags are a good feature. The electronic stability (VDS) is a great feature also.

I love my armada. It is gigantic but my girlfriend who is very short has no problem driving it because of the adjustable pedals. That said, the rotors warped after about 2500 miles but nissan replaced for free in less than 3 hours.- Seems like it might be a common problem but 6000 mi later the new brakes are still OK. Overall the car is great. I had a ford explorer before and surprisingly the armada gets better milage with a bigger engine and more power.

This SUV is fun to drive and has so much space in it your legs don't hit the seat in front of you. Take this from a guy 6'2". The boys went out the other night and five of us sat in the first two rows with no problems.

Terrible build quality. Plastic pieces falling off under the dash, paper thin sheet metal body, underpowered A/C, and poorly fitting interior panels. Hard to reach and difficult to control seat/mirror memory.

We just got our Armada and I will tell you it's been the best truck I've owned thus far. Very comfortable and has plenty of room and power. I used to own a Montero and I got frustrated all the time driving it. Nissan did a good job on this one!!

Beautiful suv rides great and handles even better.. Our 4 yr old is so quiet in the back set watching her movies that sometime we need to check to make sure we put her in the car (lol). We just got the truck so no complaints so far.

Overall, this SUV has been GREAT. We bought it soon after we had our baby end of last year. There is so much room- leg room, storage space, trunk space (when you fold down 3rd row). I couldn't be happier except for one thing- the brakes have needed resurfacing twice so far, and are about due for another, and we've only had the car 8 months. I don't feel unsafe, but it is a pain having to bring it back to the dealership to have it worked on every few months. However, the positives definitely outweigh the negative. I didn't want a minivan, and this is the next best family type car. Also, my husband said if he was going to drive an SUV, that's what he would drive, b/c it's also very "manly".

Awesome SUV

Look if you are worried about the price of gas don't even look at this suv. That is the only downfall I can find about this Fabulous Ride. Handles smooth, no noise, no rattles, feels sturdy and the best choice we have made in a purchase since learning how to drive 30 years ago. Been through 6 cars and suv's This is top of the line! I really wanted a TrailBlazer when we started our three months of research and shopping but the Amarda LE stole my heart. I think the $41200 was well spent. We have 25000 miles on this already and we have had it for 9 months. Nissan has found the problem with the rotors and are in the process of the recall and should be perfect after that.

I have been the owner of a ford expedition, jeep cherokees, hummer h2, and dodge durangos...And by far my nissan armada is the most overall family friendly suv i've owned while still making the driver excited about getting behind the wheel of this enormously powerful machine with unmatched unique styling.
