We bought it a couple of years old and have put 200k miles on it with no mechanical problems - maintenance only. You need a family truckster this is the car to have. If fact we had an SUV before this and it didn't compare. Soccer moms put your ego a side, the is the vehicle of choice.

We have gotten every penny out of this car. It is 11 years old and still only requires routine/expected maintenance. It is great for packing in a bunch of people comfortably. My only criticism might be that the middle seat belts (2nd and 3rd row) hit too high on neck even for an adult (5'8"). That is something to consider when you count out how many people/kids you will routinely transport. Really can't go wrong with any Honda, in my opinion.

I was a die hard Honda fan, I purchased my 05 Odyssey brand new and it has been riddled with major problems from the start!!! torque converter, catalytic converters , power steering pump, ac condenser, DVD system, struts, engine mounts, and now my transmission went out at 166,000 miles!!! Run!!! don't buy the Honda Odyssey!!!

Best Van I have ever owned

I bought this van new. So all 240,000 are my miles, and I could not ask for more out of a van. I have replaced motor mounts, and power steering pump was replaced under warranty... but that is it.

First and only Honda ever to purchase

At 13,771, blue gray smoke coming from the exhaust system and dealer reported caused by condensation, normal operation. My vehicle was serviced at Honda dealerships for 30, 60 and 90 K mile service work as recommended by Honda. Over the years, service records have indicated work to door seals, faulty mechanics of siding doors, faulty Honda batteries( 4<4 years), premature failure of systems, such as air conditioning, power steering, and catalytic converter. Another interesting, but significantly disappointing fact, is that the seals for my doors, the back hatch door that was most recently replaced has leaked water in the back of the minivan and sides even after replacement at Honda service.

I got a total lemon. 2 gas tank leaks; fire; complete loss of power twice while driving in fast lane; sliding door ripped itself off of body; master cylinder, two transmissions, power steering pump leak, and just about every other part on this van. Paid through the nose for all of these repairs listed as "recalled". Time to get a lemon law attorney. Original owner, all maintenance kept up to date. Now I have spent enough in repairs to buy 3 of these pieces of junk!

Problems and how to deal with them

1. A/C compressor. Often is stator that pulls clutch in to engage the compressor, but dealer will replace compressor anyway--more money to dealer and less chance of car return. Stator costs $75 and takes 2-3 hr. to replace=$400 repair, not $1300 for compressor. 2. Power steering noise requires new reservoir NOT pump. There is TSB on this. Total parts and fluid around $45. Takes 20 minutes. 3.Transmission not shifting well. Honda changed fluid spec to DW1 from Z1. Put new fluid in before replacing transmission--requires 3 fill and drain cycles of 3.5 qt 4. Power doors. You need to lubricate channels at least yearly. My doors have no problems after 9 yr. and 130,000 miles and 3 kids.

We were the typical young family... will never own a mini-van mindset. Guess what, there is a reason why there are so many out there. They are great vehicles for families with kids. They haul people and stuff, lots of great features for ease of life - remote doors (that can't ding the car next to you) remote rear hatch, etc. We drove lots of vans... the Honda Odyssey was BY FAR the best ride and drive, so we bought one. Learned about PAX tires, de-PAXed it, then was totaled in an accident. Bought another (used) already de-PAXed (BTW, don't have to use Acura wheels to do this). Then the problems. AC - replaced. Torque converter - live with it. Now, front camshaft loose - $2,000+. Finally got rid of the Odyssey, we went to a Toyota Sienna with AWD and I would pick the Toyota over the Honda hands down. Much quieter, better ride, way more 2nd row room.

272k miles and going strong!!!!

We bought this Odyssey 2.5 years ago with 220k miles and in pristine condition. We have had no major problems and LOVE this van. Our children are young (6,4,3,& 18 months) so the power doors are much appreciated. The only thing we didn't like about the van was the PAX system and cost to replace the tires. We solved that problem by "depaxing" our Odyssey 6 months ago and put 18" oem rims from a 2010 Acura Mdx (found on craigslist for $400) and Hankook h725's and LOVE THE NEW RIDE!

I don't know why other people giving the Odyssey a bad review. I bought mine used with hella mileage, 180k and it still run good. I had no problem whatsoever. The only issue I had since owning was both catalytic converter went bad, luckily the used car dealer give me a 3 months warranty which cover R&R both catalytic converter which I didn't pay a dime. The VCM works great, no starter issue, A/C blows ice cold even the rear A/C blows ice cold. P/S is kind of rough and needs replacement, but that's an easy job to fix, considering all those mileages, it's still have another 100+K on it.

I bought this car two years ago with 108k miles on it. It runes so far like new thanks God. I figured out I am not paying over 35k for a new one, that we don't use a lot. We have around 6k a year. I usually don't write reviews, but I tell you if I read the others reviews before, I would have never bought this car, and I am glad I did not. People usually don't write reviews unless they have problem. two third of the reviews show problems with this car, but I know many owners for this car love it like I do. I am buying another car for myself, and every time I look at a car, I change my mind because of the reviews, so I decided to look at the Odyssey figuring out no complaints, but there is.

Purchased 2005 Odyssey EX-L DVD in 2011 from Hendrick Honda in Easley, SC. Bad idea. 1 year later with <100K miles, trans shakes and stuck between 2nd&3rd gears. Take to trans shop (we were out of town) and they repair trans (including replacing torque conv) for $2500. 4 months later we get a letter from Honda Corp. that the issue is being covered under ext warranty and to submit documentation. Today, I got a call from "Ron" at Honda Corp. (who said he has *no supervisor* and refused to provide his last name), saying that our trans. issue is, in fact, not covered. Oh-- and no appeal process. I am 100% done with Honda. Not a quality product anymore. Buying an Odyssey is flushing $ away.

2005 Odyssey - Disappointment

I purchased a 2005 LX new. Things started well, but excessive tire wear, sliding door issues, interior lighting issues, bad starter, bad wiper motor and A/C have soured me. After the second major A/C issue I ask Honda for help. The Honda customer service folks did not care that I was a Honda supporter on my 4th Honda. When I needed Honda they turned their back on me. This will be my last Honda and I will give them the same support I was given which is ZERO. I am moving on and you should to when you buy your next car.

This is the best vehicle I've owned. It's also one of the most comfortable vehicles I've ever driven. The ride is very comfortable and quiet. Handling is excellent. I always feel in complete control in any type of weather in my Odyssey. Contrary to some of the reviews I'm seeing for this year of Odyssey; I don't really have problems with it. The only problem I had was a power steering reservoir that needed to be replaced ($125ish). At one point there was an odd vibration between 25 and 30 mph. Many people replaced the transmission or torque converter with no success. I just had the transmission fluid changed (scheduled maintenance) with Mobile 1 full synthetic. Problem solved!

Worst vehicle I've owned, by far

Good looking, comfortable for six, fun to drive, it should have been a great van. We bought this van new in 2005 after our third child was born. Quick list of problems - vibration in steering (through multiple sets of tires and countless rebalancing), replaced starter, power steering pump, alternator. Rear motor mount went at about 50k miles ($800 covered by honda out of warranty). Both power doors have been repaired, and both are still flakey and frequently don't work. But really the biggest one is that the A/C has been replaced THREE times, at almost exactly one year intervals. First time cost me $1400, second time honda covered it, third time they split the cost. Just awful.

85k miles and the transmission needed to be replaced

Our family has been a loyal Honda family until this van. We will NEVER again purchase another Honda vehicle. This van has been nothing but problems. Let me just start off by saying this is a one owner vehicle and all maintenance was done on time or early. My transmission went out at 85k miles. Called Honda and they told me to "remember you have ALL those miles." Refused to do anything about a well documented problem and told me to get an attorney. A/C compressor went out (another well known problem). Some of the dash lights have never works and they can't figure out why, battery needs replacing every year, brakes keep making the noise despite the recall. I could go on and on.

I bought this van about 4 years ago as a CPO. It has been a great family car for us. No problems really except for the expected wear and tear of certain parts (nothing unusual). This van is very comfortable especially on long drives. The Econo feature is great when you are cruising. Captains chair provide adequate support. Have decent leg room even for the 3rd row seat. I'm 6 foot tall and surprising able to fit adequately in the third row without difficulty. Highly recommended vehicle

Google "vibration in an 05 Honda Odyssey" and be prepared to read a snoot full about owners with brand new Odys with the problem. (Edmunds forums for example), And then be prepared, if you go ahead with a purchase, to experience it yourself. I just about guarantee it. I bought mine because they're rated by Edmunds to be the best van but Hondas have had tranny and motor mount problems since the 90s and now this. Evidently Honda doesn't believe in testing their products. Also their batteries are too small to handle the electronics in these things. Get the biggest one you can find.

Manual Sliding Door Fell off my van

We purchased our Odyssey brand new and currently have a little over 100,000 km on it. The only concern we have had is problems with the sliding doors. The most common problem is sticky doors. This spring my 6 year old daughter was opening the driver side sliding door and it came off the track and nearly landed on her. The only part holding the door on was the arm at the bottom of the door. The dealership said it was the plastic roller that broke and blamed me for not having it lubricated properly. They did cover the cost of repairs after numerous calls to customer relations. It has been a couple of months since this happened and now the same door will not latch properly.

We bought our 2005 EX in the middle of 2005. We have had almost NO issues what so ever with the van. The only issue that we have had is the Factory tires. They are WORTHLESS. Three had to be replaced at only 8,000 miles and all four had to be replaced at 18,000 miles due to them wearing issues. They where taken care of by the Honda warranty and then lasted until 50,000 miles when i replaced them with Goodyear triple treads. No other issues with the van at all and we love it and will buy another one when this one at some point after this one dies.

We purchased this van used with 70k miles, currently we are 110k miles. In that time there have been no unscheduled repairs. I will note, upon the test drive, the DVD player did not work, the dealer paid for the repair (~$600). The ride and handling are superior to any other minivan I have ever owned or driven. The build quality is also top notch. We specifically avoided the Touring model because of the PAX tires ($$). The EX- L provides nearly all the same amenities as the Touring model. The entertainment system with wireless headphones is a great systems for those of us with small children. The transmission is starting to show signs of wear, but increased fluid changes solve that.

Honda Odyssey Disappoints

I recently had a third child and my husband and I decided to take the plunge and get a mini-van. Since we have had an excellent experience with my 10 year old Accord we decided Honda would be the way to go for the Mini-Van. We purchased a used Odyssey with 50,000 miles. It was fully loaded and fully serviced from day one by the Honda dealer. After one month the air conditioning broke. $2000 to fix at the dealer. I just took it to the dealer because the power sliding door wasn't working. $400 to fix. When it was there they noticed the power steering wasn't working properly. $600 to replace the pump. All told I have now spent $3000 on repairs on this bastion of reliability.

The 2005 Honda odyssey is the very best vehicle that I have ever owned. The ride is unparalleled along with the many safety features. The fuel economy with this vehicle continues to go well beyond my expectations. I have had absolutely trouble free driving. Never a problem with my vehicle.

With 142,000 miles on our '05 Odyssey, there's still quite a miles on the original brake pads and the original plugs are still firing fine, but our second set of tires are just about done. We've also had to have the fluids and filters replaced quite a few times. Otherwise; it fires up immediately, in hot or cold, wet or dry; and takes us in comfort to wherever we wish to roam. We're glad we decided against the Touring model with it's PAX run flat tires, but wish there was room for a full size spare. The only other nit to pick is the attachment of the plastic pieces around and under the front end. With mostly highway driving we average around 25 mpg - not bad for an 8 passenger vehicle!

Don't buy a honda with pax system tires

Do not buy Honda. Me and my wife thought we were getting a quality minivan that would last forever, than the nightmare began. We got a blow out on the rear and found out only Honda dealerships could replace these pax tires and it cost about $325 for the one tire. Then after about 15,000 miles the front 2 were bald and those cost about 650. And you have to replace them you can't put any other tires on those rims. They will last maybe 15,000 miles before they are bald and you are forced to drive on snow covered roads with 3 children on bald tires because you can't afford to replace them. And the brakes are garbage and the yolk in the front suspension snapped and is rattling around.

We bought our Odysseys because of the safety ratings. We ended up loving them. The ride is soooo comfortable, as driver or passenger. We live in lake effect snow belt region and always take extra caution with snow tires. Never had problems. Only had to do oil changes and minimal scheduled maintenance. Six days ago my 2005 Odyssey saved my life. A speeding driver blew a stop sign and t-boned me with such force that the van was thrown on its side (the driver's side) and then bounced back up on 'all fours'. The fire department was shocked when I literally walked out of that totaled van. They thought they'd be sending the med-evac chopper for me. I am sore and bruised but alive.

I recently purchased the 2005 Honda odessy from my sun, this is the second odessy that I owned prev a 2001. Love the vehicle only problem is mice like to eat the electrical harness. My 2001 had the same problem and by the Honda dealers info this is a common problem. I love Honda's and hopefully your designers would invent something to keep this from happening. Like putting a screen around the harness. This is very frustrating and I use my car every day, and the car is in a garage. Please, please answer my question on how to prevent this from happening again.

Bought it new when it first came out and have had several recurring troubles, had a brake grinding noise, went several times until finally dealer got Honda to replace the pads and shave the rotors. PAX STINX, as everyone says they don't drive that great and they are so darn expensive, lasted us only 25-30K each set. Sliding door got stuck but fixed under warranty, keeps making clunking noise and hesitation at 2500RPM since 30000 miles, tried to get dealer to figure out several times, they just charged me a diagnostic fee of $120 and can't find a darn thing.

This van has had more problems than all of the Honda's I've owned combined. The motor mounts, catalytic converter, torque converter, struts, steering fluid pump all had to be replaced and my current mileage is 69,000. Very disappointed and will be trading it in, since the warranty has expired and will probably become a money pit.

This is our 4th Honda vehicle and I think we got a lemon this time. It was delivered with a scratch on front bumper which needed to be replaced. One year in we had to replace transmission! We've had lots of issues with driver side window motors, replaced engine mounts twice, replaced tires every 20K miles, rubber sealing on floor area of sliding doors is coming off and my Honda dealer service people know me by name... not a good thing! I don't know what engineers were thinking with shallow cup holders on tray and pull out holder is horrible... too loose to hold things. This van was not what I bargained for... one issue after another since we got it. Thank goodness we got Ext. Warranty!

The 2005 Honda Odyssey EX w/Leather and RES is a true value for money. I love the leather seats, the 2nd row captain seats with center 8th seat and the spacious 3rd row bench seats. The engine is powerful and can accelerate very quickly on highways. The tires and track are wide to give you a comfortable ride. The RES (Rear Entertainment System) being fully integrated with the audio system is really nice, and the sound quality of the audio system is quite good. The controls are ergonomically placed. The headlights are very intense and provide good visibility. The 3rd row seats fold flat and allow you to carry lotsa cargo.

Honda not as reliable as I thought

Likes: Looks, performance, handling. Dislikes: Oil consumption: recently began burning off oil. About a pint every 2000 miles. I used castrol syntec 5w20 since new and had it serviced by dealer. Dealer reply that this oil consumption is normal. This is the first vehicle I ever owned including a Dodge caravan with 130k miles that ever burned this much oil. I am not a Honda believer any more. My hyundai elantra 2002 with 140k uses no oil between 5k synthetic oil changes. Brakes: Rotors resurfaced at 20k miles and replaced at 45k miles. The brakes are already shaking again at 50k miles. Road noise, rattles (doors and moonroof).

Never buy a touring. The cost of tires will rip you. 2 touring tires cost $559+taxes+disposal etc. (Costco does not sell it ) and I have been replacing every 20,000 miles. I do drive only city, but so was when I was driving Camry which used to give between 35- 40,000 miles. Even third party warranty excludes tires. Fuel efficiency is in 14-16 mile range and long distance is 21 miles approx. Also AC broke once ($600), exact same repair for three of my friends when the car was about 50,000 miles. Stay away from touring. Buy accessories instead to make it touring without the expensive tires.

We were so excited to buy this van, and were really looking forward to many years of service from the vehicle. Now, here's the reality we've dealt with the last 4 years: 3 power steering pumps Passenger side window assembly Drive shaft Front rotors and finally, rear engine mounts. What happened to Honda quality? Of course, Honda was no help on any of this. Should have gotten the extended warranty.

Bought the EX-L new. Bad: Paint job-scratches easily. Wind noise-Honda replaced seals as a recall, but still noisy. Steering pump-Honda also fixed steering pump under warranty. Good: The van is extremely comfortable. Drives excellent-like a car. Good power, handling,and brakes. Excellent in snow. Tons of room in back even with seats up. Fuel Economy=18city/27highway-great for a heavy and tall van w/244hp. Replaced tires at about 36,000 miles; not sure why other reviews say Michelins required b/c my replacements are GoodYear @ $120/tire. Few minor problems were unexpected for a Honda. Still much better quality and ride than my two Caravans. Would definitely choose the Odyssey again.

We bought this car for our 2 kids & 2 large dogs. It has fit everyone and everything (e.g. drywall, twin mattresses.) We've kept it maintained with oil changes, brakes, 1 new battery, and tires every 60K miles. The only issue was a fuel pump replacement, but was under warranty. We drive 22K mpy and have 120K miles and I plan to keep it for another 100K. Our previous car was a Ford Exploder. DO NOT PLACE GOODYEAR TIRES on this car. Stay with the regular Michelin for a smoother more fuel efficient ride. Added rear view circle mirrors for viewing blind spots. Minor paint chipping, molding deteriorating and plastic covers/hooks breaking but expected with age, wear and tear. I'd buy another Honda.

Just took a 3500 mile trip in my parents' Odyssey and couldn't believe how many flaws a so-called world-class auto builder like Honda allowed this vehicle to leave the design room with. Let's see: automatic doors stick in the open position, front struts totally shot at 70,000 miles, keyless remote buttons so sensitive that bending over with the remote in your pocket activates the automatic doors, no thermometer, no compass (WHAT?!!!), knuckles hit the dome light button when you shift into drive, impossible to downshift on descending grades, incredibly uncomfortable driving position (6- footer here). It's a good thing Honda's customers are so loyal. If they drove the competition, they'd leave.

The touring model has pax tires which cost around $750 per tire! I only had my van for a few months then I have a nail stuck to the tire...costs me $350 to fix it! Dealer said the nail damage the tire and they can't patch it and that I need a new tire! Since the tire was only a few months old, they pro- rate the cost from $750 and only cost me $350 instead of $750. I now have my van 4 years with 82,000 miles and all 3 of the motor mounts cracked! Cost me $1500 to fix it... it does not seem right for a vehicle with such a good reputation to break so early in the vehicle life. Called Honda Corp and they said nothing they can do about it. It's a normal wear and tears on all Honda vehicles.

Van has 51000 mi. Brake Pads went out at 28000mi. Have replaced DVD player twice. Headphones have problems. Air went out at 50000 mi not covered under extended warranty. Power steering pump making noise at 38000 mi. First set tires lasted 28000mi, second set much better. Battery died at 3 years. Windshield whistles. Dealer is always trying to push unnecessary (and costly) service items. Gas mileage is ~24 mpg highway.

Enjoy driving the van, it really does not feel like a van; nothing sluggish about it. Van has had some issues like brakes, a shaking as I approach 40 mph and a side door that is defective. All-in-all, I have to say I have enjoyed the van. My lease is up next week and I am considering keeping the van.

Despite disliking minivans as a segment, we fell in love with the features and performance of the Ody Touring when we test drove one. But, we expected better reliability and engineering from Honda after we had had the care for a while. The PAX system is terrible. On our 3rd set with 45K miles. Harsh ride with vibrations. Honda gives run-around when investigating replacing with conventional tires. Gas mileage in our hilly area is 12-13MPG. On the highway, we can occasionally exceed 20MPG. Maintenance costs at dealer are higher than for our Nissan Pathfinder SUV with many more things going wrong over the first 4 years of ownership. Poor and outdated car navigation system.

We bought this vehicle thinking it got great gas mileage and because Honda's supposedly hold their value. We paid extra for the touring because we wanted the DVD and navigation. To start, the navigation needed to be updated but I was told the CD was $200, we passed on that. Then with 60,000 miles it started shifting back and forth from overdrive. We average 17 city/frwy and the ride is beyond loud. Then there was the topper: we needed tires, normally it's not too big of a deal except that they are run flat tires that you can only get directly from a Honda dealer and they run $350 PER TIRE! Then we tried to trade it and was offered next to nothing. I will never buy a Honda again.

Bought this car brand new - thought it was such a life saver for twin babies. On the way home from the dealer some maintenance light comes on. Every time I turn around some warning/maintenance light comes. I have owned lots of other Hondas and maintenance was never an issue. I am surprised a maintenance light hasn't come on to maintenance the maintenance light for $500. Maintenance A, B what a piece of junk.

We have five young children who are very hard on vehicles. We live in Texas and log a lot of miles just in our daily life. We have had no mechanical issues, some electrical issues secondary to Dr. Pepper. The car rides solid and drives true with 80k on it, a majority of it city and suburban driving. Would buy again. Our dealer has been very supportive and has given us excellent service from the sale to present day.

The usual wind whistle is the window shield trim and windshield gap. Sealed the area with black rvt sealant. Brake pads went out or had loud noise clucking. It was a recall thing, I have a loud clunk in very hot weather when I brake. The dash blower fan went out, the power steering had a howl when turning around 10-20 mph. It was known to the dealer, as most Honda had a bad set of steering pumps and brake pads on Hondas two weeks ago, my transmission at 40- 45 mph when I accelerate and at 20-25 mph when I slow down, it lurches or has harsh shifting feel. Dealer will not give out recall or part issues until you have a problem, in or out of warranty. The seats are very uncomfortable.

I was so excited to purchase the redesign model of this van after owning an Accord I loved. We had to move to a minivan after the birth of our 3rd child. We've had the power steering pump replaced 5 times, and we're preparing to put on the 3rd set of tires (@ 67K miles)! We've been told only 1 tire is made for the van-- Michelin --cha ching! I love the overall look of the van inside and out, enjoy the interior features and layout, and love to drive it despite all the aggravation. I must say, though, the van was a let down in general. I was really hoping for better fuel economy with the Honda reputation. I average 18 mpg around town.

Great van! We bought the EX-L. My wife vowed never to drive a van, but after taking this one for a test drive she was sold. We test drove the Toyota, but the overall options, handling (doesn't feel like a minivan), and interior design fitted our needs the best (two kids). We replaced the power steering pump after 65k miles, but luckily we bought the extended warranty). Great van to travel in or just around town.

The driver's side power door opens a few inches and then stops, a real pain with a new baby which is the only reason we went the Honda route. Poor noise insulation, DVD works ok but the headphones have never worked correctly. Dome light barely lights up, Back seats are uncomfortable on a long trip. Traded a mid-level 1998 Olds Silhouette in on this much quieter, better ride, comparable power, and handled the same. 105K miles was time for a new vehicle, this is our last Honda.

We spent almost $6000 in last year alone after the warranty ended. If you want to buy this van, be ready for the inconvenience and financial stress. When you buy a new and expensive car, you think that you are stress free for at least 5 years, that is not the case here. We had problem from the very first day till today.

I bought the van with the idea that in retirement I could haul stuff, and that with the navi, travels would be easier and more fun. All that is spot-on and more. I love the way it rides & handles even in NC mountains. It has plenty of power to merge on I-85 or pass on NC158. We consolidated 2 houses into 1 at retirement, and the van more than paid for itself in hauling our belongings to the new house, the dump, the Goodwill, etc. I also feel very safe driving it, with all of the safety features built-in. I bought it thinking I would find it useful for travel (which it is), but I really just enjoy driving it every day, and that surprised me! Tomorrow I pick-up my new 2009, the 05 to my son.

We bought our '05 Odyssey 4 years ago and have since logged a little over 80,000 miles with it. We love it! I've always said not to buy the first year of a new model, and there have been issues, like having to replace the front brakes in the first 10,000 miles, and a few recalls, but over all, I'm glad we bought this van. It has sufficient power, handles great, and looks good too! I noticed on another review about the need to replace a noisy power steering pump, which I'll have to do as well, because of the noise it makes. Overall, there have been a few minor issues, but I would still get another one. My advice would be to get the extended warranty like we did on a first year model.

Initially had obnoxious whistle which went away by itself after 30k?! Weird. Steering pump went out. Other than that it still drives like new at 80k. Outstanding quality. Only downside is EPA overestimated mileage when this first came out. Never came close to 20/28. We get 19/24 at best.

Own a 2005 EXL. After three years we have gone through many tires, two dvd players, and two motor mounts. Currently the brakes make a whistling noise when turning. The battery does not hold charge and now I have an issue with the VCM. Oh, the paint scratches too easily and the road noise is ridiculous. Don't hit a bump too fast because the whole car feels like it hit a crater. What's with the glove box not lining up with the dashboard leaving a gap? Oh, one more thing, driver's side seat (leather) is wearing our already and I condition it several times a year (garage kept too). I bought a Honda to last me 200K plus but I'm thinking of trying a Yota soon. It couldn't be any worse.

Don't get me wrong,I do enjoy my vehicle. But, the cost of maintaining it is outrageous! The tires are awful, uncomfortable ride. The maintenance cost every 6 months is a rip-off. Each time is $50 dollars more. I'm now up to $325 for a "B3"and of coarse they tell me my brakes look like they need replacing (not covered under warranty). I just serviced it 5 months ago for "A something" which cost $249. What next, a "C something". Unfortunately I was told that if I don't keep up required service & specific tires - "void purchased extended warranty". What a crock. Never again. Ready to take a loss and go to TOYOTA. I'll save money in the long run.

One of my worst experience of owning a new vehicle. We purchased it at around 40K and in the first 1000 miles the alignment was off. It kept on pulling to the right. Our family left for a road trip to LA from Seattle, half way down the trip, my front wheel bearings went bad and made a loud noise. So, we get stranded in San Francisco. It's still under warranty, but it had 3 to 4 alignments in the first year of ownership and Honda could not fix it or figure it out. I test drove 06s, 07s Touring models and they too have alignment issue. My Touring Ody spent more time at the dealership than we could trips at it just sitting in my garage. It also, had rattles and loud wind noise, disappointing.

This was our third Honda but we are very disappointed. We started to hear noises just before the warranty ended, when we took it they changed one of the catalytic converters and we still have the noise. It is out of warranty. They said all the converters rusted. Never will buy Honda again. You pay $35 K and it rusts in 3 years. Why pay that much?

We were originally so excited to trade our SUV and get one when they first came out. However, we are quite over the extreme cabin noise (dealer will say it is tires, but we changed to no avail), steering squeals, brake grinding and shimmy, and easily marred bumpers. #1 is noise - both the "roar" when we drive and loud squeals from turning. Wife, who once loved it, now cannot wait to trade it as the DVD volume has to be 20+ to cover the roar. Dealer serviced since day 1, they seem to resist really trying to seek out the issue. Thankfully we bought an extended warranty as otherwise all of service efforts on these issues would be out of our pocket. FYI - No loaners car for service on $31K van.

It's my wife's daily driver and with the nav. and DVD etc. the guys and gals she works with have her drive to lunch whenever they go out (even give her unsolicited gas money) because they like playing with the gadgets and it's really comfortable. With three kids ranging from 14 to 7, the long summer driving trips we've taken over the years have been a pleasure. We both like driving it and reliability has been typical Honda excellence. Just got back from a 2400 mile round trip summer vacation where we rolled over 66k--again, nothing but super review from us!

Well, let's just say I'm a bit disappointed with my 2005 Odyssey EX. Looks like a good mini-van (I'm a Honda fan), but since I bought this 2005 new model seems like every year I have some kind of problem with it. First year I had to replace brakes (twice), had whistling noise from the windshield (dealer replaced rubber gasket in 2006), in 2007 had to replace steering fluid pump (was making noise) and now in 2008 I just started to notice strange noises from fuel tank (taking it to a dealer next week), but out of warranty now. Can't wait to see what's the problem this time. I have learned a hard way never to buy a new model the first year it comes out. Hope that nothing happens next year.

My 2005 Odyssey has been a true travel companion. I just got back after a 2300 mile round trip and it worked great. Drove through the Lombard St (Crooked street) in San Francisco, along the S Lake Tahoe and in the desert heat of 110 degrees for hours. Next trip up is Banff, Canada. I love this van and I am keeping it till it quits on me.

Overall I love my Odyssey. The only real complaint I have is the rough ride over small bumps. I believe this is because of the run flat tires. It's a great ideal (run flat tires) but rough on the ride.

We have loved our Honda Odyssey and have taken it everywhere. Our dealer has been great with anything warranty and non-warranty related. This vehicle is like a sports car and is a blast to drive. It's hard to believe that this vehicle averages for us around 24 MPH while packed down with two children and all our gear for vacation. We will buy another one.

Heard a lot about the noise in the cabin. well try changing the tires to Yokohama avid trz 235/65/16. they are really quiet. but I do agree, that since it's a family van, Honda should improve on the noise damping materials.

We love the car for the comfort and room. The room is awesome. But the road noise is loud. Changed tires from Michelin to Yokohama hoping for some improvement. No change. Have had to replace windshield several times. Last time they changed out the windshield twice, got new clips. Still a wide gap that causes whistling all the time. Eco Engine always sounds like it is revved and ready to take off. Dealer says it is road noise. We had the car undercoated when new. Nice protection, but does not help road noise. We will check with tire manufacture for any help and also the windshield replacement shop for a redo. Still love the car, but it sounds like the EX is a quieter model.

The Odyssey is by far the best auto buy we have ever made. It handles like a car instead of a top heavy mini van. My husband and I have 2 children and 2 dogs. We can all ride together and not drive each other crazy. The kids watch the local t.v channels or a movie from the flip down screen and, the dogs sit in the back area. We still have room for more. The fuel millage is great for a mini van. The "ECO" mode kicks in a lot and that really helps. Around town, we average 22-24 mpg. We just went on a 3.5 hour trip to the mountains in NC and going UP the mountains, our avg. we 24. Coming down and back to Greenville, SC our avg was 33 mpg.

I bought the new body style as soon as it came out. I have had it for 3 years now and it keeps being the perfect little van.. We love it. It never has problems and drive it into the ground. My hubby wants to by me a X5 but my Van is just perfect for everything. I haul furniture around and kids and groceries and you name it I can fit it in the van.. I never have to worry it has never given me any problems it just keeps going and going and going. I love this car..

I have had many problems with this car. I am on third set of brakes, second battery, hub problems with the wheels, power steering replaced and a broken motor mount. In Honda's defense they have fixed all of these at no cost after I played hard ball with them. I had to purchase an extended warranty to ease the stress of owning this van. I would never buy another one!

I have been a staunch Honda fan my entire life. Until I purchased 2005 Odyssey EX-L RES. First the brake rotors had to be replaced. Next came the horrible wind noise. The road noise is very "American". The windshield cracked for no apparent reason. The Dealer tries extremely hard to talk down to me, even though I know more about autos than the service dept. Took the van in because mpg sucked fuel! The best I got was 22 on hwy with tailwind, and 18 in town (I did almost as good in my 4wd Toyota Sequoia!). The dealer took it for a "test drive", and using less than 1 gallon of gas and using very questionable math said it was getting 32 MPG. I love most things about the van, I just want answers!!!

Purchased as a Honda Certified used car. I was impressed by the long list of features and the fact that at 6'7" I could not only drive it, but could sit in all the other seats with reasonable comfort (OK, headroom isn't terrific in the third row...). If the '05 had the telescopic steering wheel of the '07s and up (and if Honda had been thoughtful enough NOT to have put a big bulge in the ceiling to house the rear HVAC controls right over a tall driver's head!), it would be even better! I read about gas mileage problems, but I get about 21 overall (26 when mixed with half freeway miles), and can easily get a steady 30+ going down the freeway at 60 mph. P.S. 34K on PAX with 30%+ left.

Just went over 40K. So far, had to replace factory tires at 30K, have wheel bearings in one wheel replaced, and have a new AC compressor installed. Selling dealer worked with Honda factory to cover cost of bearings and AC work, even though it was out of warranty when it happened. Bravo on dealer service! Still, was unpleasantly surprised at the problems considering I had had all scheduled services done at the dealer and Honda reliability is legendary (but now perhaps slipping!!). In general, I'm happy with the van and just love the dealership service. Crossing my fingers nothing else will go bad anytime soon.

I followed consumer reports recommendation and purchased the odyssey. Overall I like the car, but am disappointed with the service I have received at the dealership and repair problems. At 74,000 the catalytic converter had to be replaced. Five days later the check engine light came on. I was told the rear converter needs replacement! Does the car really have two converters or are they giving me the run around! I'm currently waiting for the new part to be installed. Thank God I don't have to pay for the repairs (covered under the federal emissions warranty)... I was overcharged for a previous repair by $300. It took over a week to straighten the problem out!

Bought van used it had only 28550 miles. WE were excited to get a Honda Van!! Heard so much about Hondas'. What a disappointment after I read the reviews.We are having the same problems. Noisy engine. It sounds like a small car engine also the wind noise from the windshield. It was two days over the warranty the local dealer will not cover it.The told me this after they said the noise was due to the tires that needed balancing which I paid for. After reading the reviews on this site I wonder how they could not know what the problem was. Now they say it is a loose rear engine mount and the whistling is from the windshield cost will be $1000.00 now I am just waited for the brakes to be next!

Test drove three 2005s w/similar mileage and all had same ride quality - vastly superior to 2004. Previously purchased high mileage 99 Ody that served us well - despite installing 2 trannys at warranty expense. Wrecked it in January & bought the 2005. Incredible ride, handling, quiet, features, kids and wife absolutely love it.

If 2004 was 8 on 0-10 scale, 2005 was 10. Similarity of ride between the 3 2005s identical. Have had the 2005 EX a week now. Interior comfort styling, function is TOPS. Well taken care of by prev owner - all dealership maintenances. Steering pump and reservoir, brake pads, windsheild reglued by warranty under prev owner. Stereo increadible although old tech in no MP3/Ipod capable. Roomy, lush, quite tight ride, all power. Great van buy thus far - will advise later.

A good value overall - almost a luxury vehicle for less money with far more versatility. Never have gotten less than 20 mpg to any tank although, admittedly, most miles have been over the road. Will get 28 (or better) when driven at 65 mph - mileage will drop markedly if driven faster. Power is adequate. Ride is almost too harsh with just a driver aboard but much better when fully loaded. Road noise is excessive on concrete surfaces. Vehicle has not had any reliability issues or exhibited any quirky behavior. PAX tires are wearing fine at 36,000 miles and are an attractive safety feature. Lack of telescopic steering wheel has been addressed on '07 and newer models.

This was the first year for the new redesign so I guess you have to expect some teething problems. After picking up the vehicle we noticed that the A/C vents in the middle were not functioning. The dealer had to get Honda tech line involved and they ended up pulling out the entire dashboard to replace the A/C assembly. In the process they seemed to have shorted out the climate control lights so that had to be replaced too. Thru Auguest 2007 we have replaced the power steering pump, rear tailgate struts and the rear seat release assembly. There have been about 4 recalls which have also been addressed. Very noisy on the highway and the gas mileage could be better.

I owned a Town and Country Limited before this van, and had nothing but problems, so I traded it for a Honda - no problems, right? Wrong. Had problems with DVD player (wouldn't play video - bad cable), Navigation system (voice recognition didn't work), glove box wouldn't open, PAX tires (hard to keep balanced and fast wear), vibration in steering at high speeds (Still not resolved), Airbag light came on (no explanation except known problem). All have been covered under warranty, but what a pain. That aside, I still love the van. It's comfortable, gets reasonable gas milage, and can an haul almost anything I need.

This car is extremely loud inside when driving over 40 mph. The noise isn't too bad if your driving under 40 mph. However, the kids have to blast the DVD just to hear over the roaring and vibration when driving down the freeway.

I swore I would never drive a minivan and 3 kids and 2 dogs later, here I am. I love my van. The only thing that I wish I had was the rear camera. It should be standard on all models. I love the way the van handles. It is as zippy as my Acura integra was. The rear opening windows are a must for kids as is the remote doors. We were involved in a near miss t-bone collision when someone ran a stop sign, and I am positive that my stability control saved my families lives. I can't say anything bad about this van!

We should have had this van when all kids were at home! We own the EX-L model and enjoy everything about it. Best of all is the room that we have. Everyone is 5'7" or much taller and we all have plenty of leg and head room. Used this van to move my son home from college. With the middle seats out and the back seats stored, we put his x-long single mattress and boxspring on its side and still had plenty of room for his other stuff. For long camping trips, we take out the middle seats, drop the rear seats and put in two road bikes, camping gear and luggage. Very comfortable and convenient. Young son and friends, all 6'+ took it on road trip and enjoyed the comfort.

Seems that Honda should resolve issues of fit and finish quickly before custumers start seriously considering moving to other makes, especially those offering 10yr 100,000m war. Had front brake problems-after several attempts there was a fix with a redesigned pad that stopped grinding noise. Replaced tires at 40000. Glove boxes cant be alligned, noise around 3 doors, electrical problem a mystery- after rainstorm, no power with doorlocks, AC, lights and Info display. Some plastic interior pieces pops out. Replaced 4 interior bulbs. Hits hard over bumbs with pax tires. Mic went on navigation. Paint peeling on roof rack, water in fog light. Starting to feel tugs when cms activates.

All in all, the best "long range" vehicle we have ever had. Comfortable for adults, kids, even the pet dog! Reliability with 35k on the clock has been perfect, but that is what we expected with a Honda. Interior layout and comfort is excellent, and exterior styling is pleasingly aggressive compared to its competition. Only gripe - fuel mileage. On trips we get 23 MPG at 75 MPH, not even close to the advertised 28 MPG that our "VCM" model is advertised to be capable of. It seems that at typical freeway speed, there is too much weight / aero drag to allow the engine to go into 3 cylinder mode - maybe a 6/4/3 cylinder selection would be better? Towing package is well thought out also.

It drives great and love all the space it allows! Like most touring buyers the tires are not our favorite thing about the van. But if one does their research they know that the tires are not cheap....$250 a tire. But it does run flat and with kids that could be worth the trouble! We bought our Odyssey to replace our '01 RAV4. With 2 kids, it was tops on our list. Looked at the other vans, but they did not compare. I've seen some reviews with people having issues with their '05, but we have had only one, and that was a CD getting stuck in the CD player. Other than that it's been perfect. We are averaging 22 miles per gallon. So I'm not sure what some on here are expecting from a 244hp 4400lb vehicle. We have absolutely no complaints about the economy of our van. We just love our van.

After two years, I still tell my wife every time we drive it how much I love this van! Handles like FWD sports car, power and acceleration of a sports truck, and simply beautiful. After two 6,000 mile trips across country, I can proudly say that this is the best car I've ever owned, or even traveled in! DVD - awesome; seating - awesome; windows, storage, luggage rack, even the spare tire - awesome. We drive this car 10 miles daily, and 50 more miles each weekend. Gas mileage is so much better than SUV, but just as much room. Remember the old days when people wanted to throw the kids in the car and go for a long drive? We do this every weekend now, and we look for excuses to stay out.

This van has lots of horsepower and speed. I love this van! It's unique and doesnt look like any other van. Everyday I drive this van, I feel like drag racing. 255 HP is damn good for a minivan. No problems and I have 28,000 miles on it now. The only complaint I have is it's hard to see the gas gauge with the steering controls in the way. Usually in a car you're able to drive and look at the gas gauge, in the van you won't notice the gas gauge till the last minute. Otherwise feels like your floating.

What a horrible experience with the tires, I cannot get 20,000 miles out of them, I keep the tires rotated, the dealership is only person that works on the Ody. No one will step up to ownership of the Pax tire problems. I have had 12 tires on my vehicle, last set Aug. 06, ready for another four.

I do not recommend this vehicle. The PAX tires are horrible. Two needed replacement at 15,000 miles, which required exchanges wheels/tires. Nobody buy Honda has these. The dealer said there would be a refund. I contacted Honda Corporate Customer Service after 3 months. They said no refund and that $570 per wheel/tire is the price. I experienced unbelievably bad customer service from them and the dealership. Throw in bad factory brakes, intermittent squeaking engine noises, PAX tires that last 20,000 at $570 each and you’ve got a bad deal. After 10 new Hondas/Acuras, this is probably our last. Took a bath and traded for the 2007 Sienna Limited but we love our Toyota. Bye Bye Honda

Two days after buying our first Odyssey we set out to drive from AZ to WA with a carload of hand-me-down furniture and a dog as well as our luggage. We had no problem with vehicle stability or power going over the Continental Divide. The ride was very comfortable.

I will tell you what I don't like first, while turning the steering wheel I regularly catch the windshield wiper knob and accidentally turn them on, also, the power mirror selector is too small, I would like to see it a tad bit larger. I like the power, comfort, good looks & reliability. My wife dubs the vehicle "Silky" I certainly see why. Gas mileage, a realistic 28 mpg on the road on a trip, down to 13 mpg day in and day out around town, Occasionally I have looked down at the speedometer as I am passing people on the freeway, the other cars are going 80-90, my speedometer reads 110 mph!! It is soooo smooth & silent, unbelievable. I am sure we will keep this vehicle for a long time to come

Ok, My '05 EXL has 35,000 miles on it. So far I have had a windshield seal replaced due to an air leak, new brake pads, new power steering pump, rattling of the windows?, glove boxes don't fit, warped badge, and a very weird AC noise which I am waiting to blow up- which is not resolved. I still love this van but quality wise I got the lemon. The worst part is I moved where the local Service Dealer is HORRIBLE! I have finally found a better dealership 50 miles away! If only GM came up with the features of the Honda/Toyotas. Anyway, love the van- just hope it makes it to 200,000 miles. Just disappointed that a car that costs over $32,000 has this many problems, makes me sad.

I have been driving 29500 freeway miles, The Honda dealership replaced all four wheel brake pads around 18,000 miles with upgraded pads (they said upgraded parts by Honda), now when I hit the brake, the steering wheel is shaking, The dealership said the problem is not covered on warranty, also not resolve the problem unless the front disks (rotors) are replaced. I think Honda used undersized brake disc for front wheel comparing with my other vehicle, which runs slightly more than my Odyssey. this is the my current problem. I think it needs improvement.

I love my odyssey. It is luxury for a great price. The kids love the entertainment system and the leather is luxurious. Gets great gas mileage; averaging 24 on the highway and about 20-21 puttering around town. Safety ratings are great and I feel safe traveling with my family. I would highly recommend the odyssey. It is worth the money.

This is our second time purchasing a Honda odyssey and I must say this will be our last. We have had nothing but constant problems. At 24,000 miles, Honda has replaced the breaks & had to turn the rotors twice to fix a grinding noise. Wind noise from the front windshield has resulted in 4 attempts from the dealership to resolve the problem. They finally got it right by replacing the windshield. This vehicle destroys tires! Our first set of Michelin's only lasted 18,000 miles. Honda would not help us out even though we rotated and balance the tires every 3,000 miles.Our GPS went out at 12,000 miles and had to be replaced. There have been so many recalls on this vehicle it is comical.

This has been a great vehicle for us. The styling and handling of the van is excellent. Build-in features, even on the base model we purchased, surpass expectation. However, and this is an expensive however, the tires are awful. The OEM Michelin tires have been nothing by trouble and are expensive. We've been through 2 already at $150 a pop and about to replace a third. I've never had some much trouble as I have with these Michelin's.

You would think that the flagship minivan would have higher value. I bought this Honda because the critics said it was the best value and all that other jazz. So far too many problems. Brakes squeal when stopping from high speeds and now most recent my front tires are nearly bald to the wear bars. Honda and the tire dealer are offering no assistance. They want me to fork out more money. Also had the A/C replaced after "road debris" cracked my condenser. Highly recommend investing in a BRA that covers the front air dam with mesh or something else. 75% satisfied with the vehicle. After all it is a Honda and is very comfortable and semi good value.

I love my honda, it is the first one I have owned and purshased it after driving all the competors vans. This one drove the best and was the most comfortable, not only in the front but the second and third row seats are comfortable as well, can't say that about some of the others we tried. So far the only problems we have had are with the tires. I feel Honda made a bad choice on tires, we are having to replace ours and we don't even have 30,000 miles on it yet, and they cost almost $200 each. According to our service rep. this is only a problem on the touring model and not the others. Other than the tires this van is perfect!

Honda has always exacted a brand premium and the Odyssey is no exception. I wish that I could say after 22,000 miles of ownership that the car was worth the premium, but it's not. Chevy build-quality at Cadillac prices. The car is built in Lincoln Alabama and the assembly quality shows that Bubba needs to study a lot harder before he's ready to build a premium product. I'm very disappointed in the car's fit and finish. I've never had a car before where I needed to rehang half of the body panels to get the car to fit together properly. The paint has poor luster and horizontal surfaces are filled with dirt. The hood has splotchs where the factory attempted to wet-sand out some of the dirt.

This is a very good vehicle. Our family has owned Hondas in the past, but we got away from them to experience something new. What a mistake. After briefly owning a '99 Audi I sprinted back to Honda quality. This vehicle has been a pleasure to own & drive over the past 18 months. No problems so far. Yes, it's a minivan, so the "fun to drive" factor is lower than most vehicles. But it handles very well for a larger vehicle. We've taken long trips & found the RES to be a must when traveling w/ 3 small children. Two neighbors have since purchased the 05 or 06 Odyssey and are also very satisfied. This is the best purchase (car or otherwise) I've ever made.

Good gas mileage becuse of the Variable cylinder management. Comfort, head and legroom and driving position. The no flat tires take the worry out of flats and I would never, ever buy another car without the navigation system.

I always wanted a Honda odyssey, so when I was finally able to own one I was ecstatic. Now I wish I had bought something different. I have had the whistling noise fixed three times. I have had the brakes fixed three times starting at 7,000 miles and now at 34,000 miles they are starting to grind again. I just had them replaced a third time a month ago. Everytime I bring it in for service there is a recall. I also had to have the dvd screen replaced because it kept darkening. All in all, it has been a very disappointing experience. I won't buy an Odyssey again. May be I will buy a Sienna next time.

Quieter cabin, better fuel economy... ALL LIES!! After only 18k miles, I'm selling it. The road noise is unbearable. Apparently, the ECO thing doesn't work, causes a major droning noise at 65 mph. Fuel economy is 16/24 at best. I will never buy another honda van. The navigation doesn't give accurate travel times, all of which are based on an avg. speed of 60 mph!!! Then, one day, the A/C stopped working. I bring it to the dealer. Before even looking at it, the mechanic says "I hope it is not a rock in the condenser." When on the lift, it was the condenser. Extremely poor design. The gaps in the grill are so big, it is insane. Look at German cars, even the economy ones like jettas.

Wind Noise Annoying

When there is an outside wind of 12 to 18 mph, the interior cabin noise is more than I expected especially from a Honda known for Fit & Finish. My Dodge minivan had less interior noise than the 2005 Honda EX. The Honda dealer acknowledged they have had some complaints about interior wind noise or whistle. They added additional sealant around the front windshield & it seemed to help somewhat. Nevertheless, I still encounter more interior wind noise than I believe is acceptable. Does anyone else share the same annoying problem? Are there other remedies than adding add't caulking around the edges of the windshield?

Deeply disappointed in this car. There is a loud droning sound at 2,100 RPM (sounds like a lawnmower). It is loud and gives a headache after a while. I have already taken the car to the dealership several times in 1 year - got the audio system replaced, brakepads replaced, fixed a whistling sound coming from the windshield at high speeds. Wonder what else is coming after the warranty runs out. Wouldn't buy it again!!

I bought this van mainly for traveling. So far, it has been a very pleasant experience. This van is very comfortable, holds the road very good and the most amazing thing is that I don't get tired driving it for long distances. I averaged about 29 MPG on the highway with A/C. That is amazing to me. I guess that ECO feature really works.

I drive with the cruse controll on 80 to 90% of the time,at the speed limit or slower. My gas mileage on the Highway is 28 to 30 miles per gallon. The Intown mileage is 22 to 24 miles per gallon. I have the leather interior and couldn't be more pleased. I haven't had the first problem with my vehicle.

Currently my Odyssey is in for its 12th service visit since owning it. Ridiculous for a Honda. They should be ashamed of this one. AC has died twice. Power steering gone out once - been in for high pitched "scream" sound four times. Windshield seals replaced three times. Now window mouldings dont want to stay in place. I have had 5 Hondas. This may be my last. Having to regretfully consult attorney and look at lemon law.

Love the Odyssey except for a few problems. Gas guzzler for one thing, but a guess a vehicle this size it is expected. I have been having some brake issues. If traveling at a high rate of speed and then brake quickly. The next few miles of slow braking causes the brakes to make a grinding sensation. Wonder if it is a caliper problem. Also, starting out of driveway in the A.M, I am getting a little hesitation and noise when putting the vehicle in drive. Overall, satisfied with this van.

Before buying, we researched many vans and this came up on top in all. But after mystery electrical issues that have left us stranded 3x and having to replace all four tires after 18000 miles (at Honda's expense) makes me concerned for what the next 18000 miles will bring. It is a very comfortable van, nice features don't get me wrong. Fuel economy should be better, option for non-run flat tires should be there, and maybe the weight of the tires contribute to the lower mpg than even my brother in law's EX-L. Handles very well and VCM is unnoticeable.

Warped rotor discs on day one. Air conditioning was/is weak after replacing the control head. Run flat tires are terrible, 21K and they are nearly bald, yet the dealer is still pushing them at 45-50K. Called Michelin and they said you should get 35-40K as well and when I told them of my plight they said take it to a tire place for their consideration. Dealership after one year still cannot replace rubber on tire and am having difficulty finding a shop that can replace them. Dealership also stated that if the rim is rubbed in any way, you must buy new rim system with tire for about $600. Highly discourage this vehicle for all considering.

I love my van as far as features, roominess, etc. but I've had continual problems with grinding brakes. The dealership FINALLY resealed around windshield to rid wind noise, plastic around glove-box, leg area gets VERY easily "bummed" up. I would not recommend an 05 to anyone. In general it's a great van but the new model has had way to many quirks for me. My 9 year old Ford Windstar could beat this van up as far as durability, now special features it does rate tops. Considering trading my 05 for an 06 hoping they've fixed the quirks.

My wife and I traded in our 2003 Audi A6 for an Odyssey after we were going to have our 2nd child. We have been exceptionally happy with the Odyssey. It is easy to get the kids in and out, storage is ample, the ride is very solid and visibility is outstanding. We've had two recalls- noisy brake pads, and the seal on the front windshield.

I've owned several vans over the years, Toyotas, VWs, this Honda.This EX ranks right up there at the top. It runs well, handles better than my previous Toyota although my Previa was the best van out there in 1994. I've always required a vehicle that can tow a small trailer. This one does, although the towing package, consisting of enlarged trans. & pwr strg. coolers, a wind deflector, and the hitch and harness for lights can be expensive, depending on if you can install it yourself.

Since day one both my wife and I loved it. We had 2 problems. The top glove compartment didn't close right, they had to add a piece of foam to get it to close. Also noise issue when on freeway, turns out the windshield seal was a little loose at one corner, all got fixed under warranty and the wipers dried up in six months(tx weather). Other than there minor issues we love the fact that it shuts off 3 cylinders when slowing down or cruising down the freeway and my kids love the dvd player. Sound quality is great. We had an 04 odyssey and we thought they couldn't top it, they did.Great van, for any mom or day.The leather is the way to go w/ kids,everything comes off right away.

We have had several problems with this van. Both passenger doors creak when stopping and starting. They have tried to fix but and can't. Our serpentine belt came loose and took a week to find. TPMS light comes on a regular basis on trips. Had to relearn the system. Gas mileage stinks. Roughly 13 in town and 22 hwy. For this being the top of the line for Honda, my 2003 Town&Country Limited was more luxuious and came with better features. Run flats are nice but can't find anyone to replace just the tire in KY. Can only replace the whole tire and rim assembly. Cost is $600 per tire to replace.

I've had this car for 1 1/2 years now and must say that I have been impressed by the Minivan. With 21K+ Miles on it now, the Van has been safe, secure and stable on wet/slippery/icy roads of the North East. The VSC has really been great and the Brakes/Handling have been very good. My primary reasons for selecting this van over Toyota were the Standard Safety features and I have not been disappointed. Average Mileage 21 MPG.

Overall it is a nice car, with a lot going for it. The handling is very good, it has plenty of power, and one feels well protected. I enjoy driving it. The NAV system has some really good features, I particularly like being able to put in the destination (businesses only) as the telephone number, and the system looks up the address very quickly, assuming the business has not moved recently. The backup camera that comes with the system is also very usefull. The XM capable radio is also nice, and the 6 CD changer and rear DVD player and seperate audio via wireless headphones for rear passingers. Gas mileage is less than expected. Power sliding doors are nice too. Voice commands are good.
