We bought ours 15 months ago, but we've put 24,000 miles on it since we bought it. Couldn't be happier. Vehicle looks sensational. It performs flawlessly, and it is an absolute pleasure to drive. I'd been looking for a Lincoln Navigator, but when we saw the King Ranch interior, we were hooked. We had to look a while to find one in mint condition, but it was worth the wait. That leather is so beautiful! The car had 59,000 miles when I bought it, and I immediately ordered a set of WeatherTech floor mats to keep the pristine carpets in their excellent condition. I also purchased a Ford OEM transmission pan with a drain plug in it. I replaced all fluids with synthetic, and I hope to keep this car for many miles and years! We also found a set of mint 22" Harley Davidson F150 wheels for it. Looks sharp! Finally, we tinted the front windows to match the rear. The car has been very reliable. Not a single problem. Sound system is superb. DVD player has been used only once. I wanted to have it, just to have it, but we never use it. The middle row in ours has 2 bucket seats, and this feature is wonderful. It makes getting into the back seats very easy. One major feature of this vehicle that sold us on this over a Tahoe is the 3rd row seating...... the 3rd row occupants sit comfortably with plenty of leg room, and a flat floor. In a Yukon, their feet sit above the differential, and this makes for very awkward seating for all but small kids. In summary.... we've been totally impressed with our big Ford. I love cars and do all my own maintenance. I have been over every inch of this car, just to familiarize myself with it, and in my opinion, this is a very well built vehicle! Highly recommended. **Update after 49,000 miles of driving** - STILL totally pleased with this machine. Everything about it satisfies this fussy car guy. Dependability, Good Looks, Comfort, Durability, "Heft", Ease of Maintenance for a DIY guy. Has never let us down. I bought new brake pads for it after we'd had it for 30,000 miles (and wanted to change the fronts especially, since the front brake pads generate lots of red brake dust. However, on inspecting the brakes, realized that the front pads were still in such good shape that I'd live with the brake dust for a bit longer. Now, after nearly 50,000 miles, I'll change the front brakes soon, but not because they're worn out (and I don't know how many miles were on these pads before we bought the car but I suspect they'd just been done). I've never had the spark plugs changed, but I'm going to have it done at some point (I do ALL my own maintenance on my vehicles, but this is one I don't want to touch). This past winter, we had a lot of snow in the Pacific Northwest, and the 4WD of our Expedition was superb! This vehicle got us safely wherever we needed to go, while my 2WD mF350 dually sat like a rock in our driveway, unable to move an inch under its own power!) In summary, if you are reading this review because you're considering an Expedition as a family vehicle, take it from me, a car lover (and not necessarily loyal to any one brand)...... the Expedition offers excellent value for the money..... can't say enough good about this platform. You won't be disappointed.

Great Looking Repair Job

I loved everything about my Expedition except the need for repairs. I did all of the recommended maintenance in accordance with the recommended mileage and at about 90,000 had to replace the transmission. One year later, had to replace another transmission. In the meantime, I had to repair something that broke that was connected to the front right axle. Now, at 133,000 the car cut off while I was driving on the freeway and a message comes up to check the electronic throttle control which I found out is a common event on this year, make and model. Ford has a problem with transmissions in their vehicles and this one is no different.

We bought our Expedition with 72k miles in 2010. It now has 138k miles. In that time we have replaced the lower balljoints, one fuel injector (Ford recall). The only other items replaced were coil packs, a battery, spark plugs, and brake pads which are normal maintenance items. We absolutely love the vehicle and while we have also bought a truck and a car we refuse to get rid of the Expedition and use it for vacations. It suits every need we have and is extremely reliable and comfortable. We will drive this one until the wheels fall off, and once we can't put them back on anymore we will likely buy a new one. If you're good to it, it will definitely be good to you.

Major Problem that needs to be recalled - Throttle body

There is a major issue with the 2005 Ford Expedition. I was driving down the road going 50 mph and received a check electronic throttle message on the dash and the engine stopped and so did the power steering and brakes. I was in the left lane of a two lane road and nearly got in an accident. I took it to Ford and they replaced the throttle body for nearly $700. I've checked online and there are hundreds and hundreds of people with the same issue. [non-permissible content removed].

Finally Got rid of my Expedition

Today, i just traded in my Expedition for a Toyota Sequoia, and I feel great. The Ford Expedition is perhaps the worst vehicle I have knowledge of. I have never seen a vehicle that is so aesthetically beautiful, end up being a nightmare. Before unloading that money pit on a dealership, I replaced the transmission, 9 distributors, throttle position sensor, battery, rotors, and brakes. I bought the expedition in 2009!!! These are the remaining issues that i could not afford to fix and decided to trade it in. Front differential, rear differential, throttle body, catalytic converter, driver window motor, and rear brakes. But, no longer my problem. Buyer beware!!

Just turned 90k miles on my 2005. Everything still original except battery and wiper blades. Very smooth ride, paired with Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo/ 2 tires..this thing has gone through 34 inches of snow like a tank....been over off road passes in Colorado at 14,000 feet, and still drives great. No rattles, squeeks, or any issues. Best SUV I have ever owned. routine maintenance always performed on time, have used full synthetic oil since new. chrome plated aircraft grade aluminum wheels make this red over silver truck look outstanding. Fully loaded, this is the longest I have owned any vehicle in my life.

New Engine?

For the first 50,000 miles, this truck ran great! Very roomy and comfortable, easy to drive and plenty of power. However, at around 60,000 miles and just 5 years after I drove it off the lot, it suddenly ran terribly and the check engine light came on. The dealer says I need the engine replaced. The warranty has expired and the dealer wanted $9000 to replace the engine! After a phone call to Ford the price came down to $5000. So far, I've spent about $800 fixing things that might be the problem but unfortunately I'm starting to think the dealer is right. I wouldn't think a vehicle with less than 60,000 would need a new motor. Very disappointed!

Blown engine after 62000 miles

Engine hydro-locked after a fuel injector failed. Hidden recall, they fix it only if you have the problem. Next, fell victime to Ford TSB 06-19- 8, noisy phasers. Now the engin blew. This is no more than a family wagon. Never towed anything in its very short life. FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily. I am/was a long-time Ford owner..... NEVER AGAIN!

Backup sensor quit working

Ford dealer cannot figure out why the backup sensor quit working. Started after we hooked up our travel trailer. No one can fix this. Had a few close calls and want it fixed!

Just turned in ole' Blue to the lease return. It was my 2nd Expi and a big improvement from the 2000 with independent rear suspension that gave it sure footed handling and 4 wheel disc brakes that stopped better. Very powerful and never disappointed me when fast acceleration was needed. Never broke down. All I did was change the oil and pay attention to warning lights. The family is leaving the nest now and there is no longer a need for a spacious SUV. Blue was an XLT Sport 2wd, that gave it some two tone trim, tubular running boards, fog lights, limited slip, stiffer roll bar and a few other highlights. Will always remember the big comfortable ride.

Our XLT 5.3L 4WD was a lemon from the second we drove it off the lot. This is fully loaded with all the bells and whistles to include 22" rims. We paid almost $60K for this dream car. Been to shop more times than I can count in last 5 years for every imaginable problem. The car was a lemon from Day 1 and although I suspected it many times, I was no absolutely sure until today when transmission went out at 84,000 miles. Engine was replaced at 82,000 miles ($6K). numerous electrical issues, poor gas milage at 8-10MPG for 1st 82,000miles due to engine issues (I always assumed it was the oversized tires until my MPG jumped to 15-17 after new engine installed.) Ford has done nothing to help us.

I bought my expedition a little over a year ago. It had 48k miles on it and was three years old. I had never owned a ford before and was unsure as to how it would last; i had always heard unsettling things about fords. A little over a year and close to 28k miles that i've put on the odo, i can say happily that i love my SUV. Im not easy on vehicles, i love to offroad even if the vehicle isn't desinged for it. My expedition has taken all my beatings and adventures with my family with pride and is running strong. so far the only problem is the rear HVAC system that has begun to knock and not work as intended but i still have a warranty on it.

Bought Expedition in 12/04. Had a number of problems with rough engine noise, power seats stopped working etc. At 66,800 mile a valve broke off and dropped in to the cylinder. We only put about 12,000 miles a year on engine. Called Ford to see if they would work out something with me but was denied. I have to pay $7400.00 to replace my engine.

Overall the truck has been great and has stood up to the built ford tough. The interior and the exterior have held up very well. Only 2 minor problems and one was cause by the dealer not putting the clamp back on the radiator hose causing the hose to detach while driving and the other issue was a phaser that was covered by the extended warranty. Bought the truck with 22,000 miles and it now has 55,000 miles. The truck drives like a luxury car and has a great turning radius. This truck has turned out great comapared to our other truck a 04 chevy tahoe which has been in the dealer more close to 20 times for repairs alone the latest problem with that truck is the speedometer dont work anymore.

I love our expedition, but I recently noticed the it stalls while driving. I was using regular octane. We have tried using premium and mid-grade and no stalls. My husband put in onetank of regular and it stalled again. USE mid or premium gas. We also had our rear main seal leaking, dealer denied it, so we found a private shop to fix it for us.

I barely got this car when a coil went out. That was a bad thing, but since that was repaired it runs wonderful. I test drove a couple different large S.U.V.'s and have to say that the Expedition drives better than anything I drove that day. I went from driving a small car to this and I thought parking and things like that would be a hassle, but not with this S.U.V. I can park it, reverse it just like I was driving my little car. The interior is nice and roomy, and the 3rd row is like anyother normal seat. Overall this is my favorite besides the rattling back window.

Eddie Bauer after 70,000 miles

Our first Expedition was a 1999 Eddie Bauer which we traded in after 75,000 problem free miles. We bought our current Expedition primarily because the 1999 was problem free and we wanted the power fold flat third row seats (which are great). However the 2005 version has been in the shop a number of times. The AC compressor had to be replaced at 40,000 miles ($1400) and the front brake calipers had to be replaced at 65,000 miles because they were binding. However the worst part of the vehicle is the interior rattles, dashboard squeaks and suspension creaks, moans and groans which drive us crazy. Gas mileage has been OK, pretty much as expected. 17-18 on the highway and 14-15 around town.

My wife totaled 2004 E. Bauer in a head-on, good design saved her life, bought 2005 King Ranch 4WD with all options. I love the air suspension, it rides better than my supercrew which has a longer wheel base. My wife sells real estate and gets 14-15 mpg under the worst conditions, we have gotten 21.2 mpg from New Mexico to Dallas at 70 to 80 mph. I think the mpg is great considering the Expidition is 4 w/d and weighs 5600 lbs. w/3.73 ratio. This is our third Expidition and we would buy another one without hesitation

My husband and I shopped all the SUV's and chose the Ford Expedition as it best fit our family needs. We absoblutely love the SUV with the exception of the reliability. On the third year, this year, we have replaced an altinator and it is currently in the shop for a new transmission. However, the problems began immediately with one thing or another. Unfortunately, the small things happened when it was under warranty. We are very, very disappointed in the reliability of this vehicle. We would not purchase another one based on this.

After 61000 miles not a single break down nor problem of any other kind. Power and above all the comfort of the interior are to be desired in any vehicle. The only drawback in the fuel effiency or lack thereof. Think of buying one I would recommend, just have a good paying job to support the oil companies

Overall I love my Expedition. It is comfortable for all my family over long road trips. We travel 2-300 miles together through the mountains several times a week and everybody is comfortable. We have been rear-ended while parked and the vehicle took it and barely moved. My daughter and I were sitting in the back watching a movie when hit and where not injured at all. Great safety in rear-end collisions.I love the handling and ease of parking in crowded streets. The large mirrors help make this poosible.Overall this has been my favorite vehicle so far, except dealing with the car service for electrical issues and odd noises nobody can diagnose. Also has surged in traffic on its own. Dangerous!

Very unhappy with 2005 Expedition

I have had a ton of problems with my 2 year old truck. Last year it went in because every time I started it, it sounded like it was going to fall apart at the hinges. Good thing it's under warranty, that was $2000 worth of repair (and a week without it). It will be going in Monday because the power steering went out this week. Common for Fords I guess. This truck only has 16,000 miles though. Among smaller things The back hatch doesn't close correctly (never has) same with the rear driver side door. Windows are very slow to roll up. Oh and the wonderful 9 miles to the gallon you get if you are lucky. I can't wait to get my Yukon. I despise this truck. I have had better junkers.

A great suv. If you read some of the reviews many people find the gas usage high. DUH it's an suv. It does a great job at hauling people in comfort. Awesome get up and go for such a heavy truck. Tows well, I like the fact that I can flip in and out of 4x4, awd or 2 wheel drive. I like that the center seat pulls forward. It's a great SUV.

My husband and I bought our first Expedition in 2003. It was okay. The small things went out faster than our previous car like tail light bulbs. We upgraded to the Eddie Bauer in 2005 to a 2005. We have had it for 14 months and has been in the shop 4 times. We are not happy with Ford at all. We are trying to go back to Japanese cars.

Great comfort! Mostly freeway driving, better than expected gas mileage 18 mpg. Great ride, better than my wife's Cadillac. Plenty of room for the kids and their teammates on way to games. Unbelievable turning radius. Parking no problem. No blind spots, great visibility all around vehicle. Once you get it rolling good top end power. When towing can't hardly tell there is a trailer on back.

I always wanted to own an Expo and bought a left over 2005 in December. Then gas prices took off. The truck is very comfortable, but the build quality is only "ok." I have 10,000 miles on this vehicle and things are already rattling and I have squeaks. Gas mileage is no where near EPA figures, even with gentle starts and cruising at posted speeds on the highway. I've never seen better than 15-16 (this is a 4x4 model). At over $80 to fill it, it's time for me and the Expo to part ways - it just isn't worth the expense - we'll squeeze into something a lot more economical.

This Expedition is remarkable. I have over 20,000 miles now and it has never had any problems. I average 15 miles per gallon and over 20 miles per gallon on lone trips. I am so impressed with the passenger comfort even in the 3rd row that I sometimes sit in back with my 2 kids to watch DVDs when my wife drives. I tow a large deck boat and the vehicle handles the load very well. I am impressed with the brakes that stop faster than any other vehicle I have driven with anti-lock brakes. The rack and pinion steering and 4 wheel independent suspension give sporty ride and handling. My wife and I argue over who gets to drive; she usually wins but I get to ride in the back and watch movies with the kids.

Generally a good full-size SUV. Plenty of room, comfortable first and third row seats. Second row seats OK but cushions are too low. Limited headroom in front row. Good all-weather SUV; very good in snow. Some interior squeaks and rattles, mostly in cold weather. Poor mileage; 10-12 mpg in the city. 28 gallon gas tank = $84 fill ups at $3/gallon. Won't fit in some parking garages.

This is a great vehicle. I get 20 mph on the road. I am not tired after a 1000 mile trip in one day. Very reliable. Much better than the Mercedes suv that I owned.

I traded my '99 Eddie Bauer Expedition for this one and within a 4 month period my 2005 had been in the shop more times than my 1999 model had been over a period of 6 years. I've had problems with the gas pedal, electric seats, a piece of interior molding fell off by itself, and numerous rattles in the dash that the dealership employees can't seem to hear but everyone else that rides with me can. With only 8500 miles and 8 months of wear, the value has gone from the $37K that we paid to $22K (what the dealership will give for it now). I've contacted Ford Motor Company about a buy back or replacement but that was a big waste of time. I won't be buying another Ford!

Great improvement over previous '99 Eddie Bauer owned. Ride is a bit stiffer, but feels like a sportier drive. Handling and turning radius is excellent for a vehicle of this size. The new 5.4 3V is much torquier than the old engines and can pull a moderate hill at 1200 RPM without downshifts. Mileage is not bad on the highway; we get 19-20 mpg on trips if we keep at 70 or below. Tows our 23' boat/trailer at 7,000 lbs. with ease getting about 12-14 mpg highway. Other than a window rattle which the dealer fixed with a new weather strip, no problems, and very reliable so far at 15k. Great truck!

I loved this car the first four months I owned it. Then it started having nothing but problems. I have not driven it in two months and it is only five months old! Size and design is great but reliability is awful. I do love the bench in the front to seat nine. It makes the driver and passenger seats larger and more comfortable for long trips. Rear seat is also large and can actually seat adults. Inside looks so much more updated than the Suburban models. Flat fold seat is great -- and I did not get the power option. Seats flip down easily. My children can do it. Turning radius is great for such a large car, much better than my smaller Durango. Just be careful you don't buy a lemon.

Quiet ride on the highway, Actual mileage 13-14 MPG city and 17-19 MPG highway driving. Very happy with ride, performance and comfort but did have to take truck back in for repair. Back passenger door had a popping sound when opened. The cause was from the factory missing some spotwelds on door post. Door no longer makes popping sound. Very satisfied with purchase of 2005 EB Expedition.

Traded in my '03 Expy with 4.6L for the 5.4L and man, what a difference in power. I am pulling a 2006 23' Weekend Warrior FS23 which weighs about 7600 lbs loaded and it does great. I pull the grades at 55-65 with no problem. It sure is nice to be able to pull my toy box with an SUV rather than a truck.

This is a good vehicle. It is reliable and the traction control has helped in the Florida rains. I have never been able to get the navigation system to work properly but that's ok ... we still have maps. The kids love the back seat DVD player but it is inconvenient because it blocks your rearview mirror 100% when it is in use. The back up warning is very effective and saved many a kids bike from being crushed.

Traded my beloved 2002 Expedition for a brand new 2005 last month. Lots of differences, also some similarities. So far the 2005 has run flawless. I replaced the stock wheels and tires immediately. Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's; best tire ever made for an SUV makes this truck stick like glue. The 2005 version sits lower than the 2002, something that on one hand is disappointing, but it is easier to get into and out of. The 300HP V8 moves this SUV without breaking a sweat. My 2002 had the 4.6L V8 and while it was a solid running engine, when fully loaded it didn't have nearly the pep the 2005 has. We'll see how durable the new engine is over time. Styling is very clean.

Buying a "King ranch" was not my original objective, but it has exceeded all my expectations for an SUV. Lots of room, great leather seats, comfortable ride, lots of power, but keep that speed down to enjoy some decent fuel economy for an SUV. It will haul anything with little or no effort. Launch the boat and retrieve it as easy as pulling out of a parking space. This is an excellent cruising machine for those with large families or if you need room for stuff.

This is my third Expedition and with this one I would have to say that Ford is trying to cut some corners on their bottom line. The interior feels like they put in more "hard plastic" materials. I have had a lot of cosmetic issues with the exterior. The climate control seats used to be built into the seats; now it is a blower that goes under the seats that you can hear when on. The entertainment screen could be in the back of the seats because it blocks your view while driving. Too much cheap plastic inside this model.

We live in Doha, Qatar and needed a large SUV for the wife to drive our two kids and a dog around town and the occasional trip to the desert (and feel safe in verses the very aggressive driving styles encountered here!). After looking at a number of domestic US (Suburban, Durango) and non-US (Nissan, Toyota) SUVs, the Expedition by far offered the greatest value for the money. We love the strong A/C system and room and could not believe you can buy this much SUV for so little money.

The only thing missing with this car is the extra room in the very back. It is the most comfortable car I have ever driven. Every seat is comfortable. I do hope they come out with an extended length and improve the gas mileage on all SUV's. With four children we need the space!

This is my 2nd Expedition and I love it. Bought the Eddie Bauer over the Tahoe and Yukon mainly because of the reliability of my 1st one and the power 3rd row seat. We owned an Explorer before this Expedition. With three little kids we needed something bigger. The handling is great for a big vehicle, and a smooth ride. Enough room for three car seats across the second row of seats, and room for three adults in the third row. Very safe vehicle and performed great in safety crash tests. Enough cargo room when third seat is folded down to handle suitcases, strollers, coolers, and extra groceries. I really, really like this big SUV.

If you can live with the inevitable lousy fuel economy, this is a full size SUV I'd highly recommend. All the bells & whistles and it drives itself. Consider the captain's seats in the second row and navigation system (which was surprisingly hard to find on most at dealership models). We are pleased we ordered both.

Significant improvements compared to my 1999 Eddie Bauer. Poor gas mileage; 12 around town and 15 on freeway. Interior comfort better. Drawback is the tires. Mushy ride and sway compared to Michelins. Black dash board, in front of driver, radiates a lot of heat on hot days. Overall a lot of fun to drive and air conditioner is fantastic.

I bought this truck about a month ago and have been very happy with it. I compared the Durango, Sequoia and Tahoe. Seating folds flat in rear making the space very large without storing seats (vs. Tahoe). Wider and even fits an adult comfortably in third row (vs. Tahoe and Durango). Less of a blind spot (vs. Durango). I really like the Sequoia for many of the same reasons. In reality it came down to price between a Toyota and Ford. Between incentives and haggling I got 10K off the truck's price and good trade in value. I did not think the seats were very comfortable at first, but as with anything else my body has adjusted and now it feels great.

I just bought the Expedition in May; it is so different then driving a car. I don't think I want another car. We went for the Explorer but my friends said try something bigger. I'm 6'7" and my wife is 5'4". This is the first vehicle we've owned that is very comfortable for each of us to drive. I've hauled a full load of luggage and my three dogs while pulling a heavily laden trailer with no loss of performance. Yesterday I picked up a half ton of cattle feed and three square bales of hay and still was able to pick up a major grocery order. Some of us DO need a vehicle this large.

I traded in my 2001 Expedition 4WD XLT for the 2005 Eddie Bauer 4WD - what a difference in handling! The 2005 has more power and drives more like a car. I really liked my 2001 and wouldn't think of getting anything other than an Expedition. In comparison, the leather interior was of better quality in the 2001 and there were more storage areas. I use my Expy for dog shows and it makes a great dog vehicle. Crates it in the back with all the seats down and room for all the gear! Love this vehicle.

I wanted to get an all around family vehicle that could go with this family's active life style. We go camping, have school activities and haul horses with us to equestrian events. We needed a friendly workhorse basically. This car has it in spades. The first time I hauled a two horse trailer and horses with it, though the gas mileage was low, the performance was excellent. You could hardly tell there was a heavy load back there. Towing package is excellent. Camping gear, hubby and kids all fit well and have their own space. It is a great vehicle.

Simply put, this car is not worth the 50+ grand. At first glance, it has a nice appearance. Not as grand as its Navigator brother, but still impresive. However, after having this car for some time, it becomes a pain. When you're not trying to maneuver this huge car in traffic and parking garages, it's sitting comfortably in your local repair shop having its newest problem fixed. Front door leaking air, power mirrors without power, loud road noise that become greater with time, occasionaly weird clunkling that confuses both us and the dealer. Also, even though this car has a massive engine, its slow to accelerate. and its transmission is sloppy and gets confused shifting gears.

I just traded my 2003 Eddie Bauer for an 2005 Limited with the navigation system. So far the nav system is not very acurate. The power of the new engine is a plus. The front seats come with both heat and cooling my favorite option here in South Florida. Getting the limited with all the options is not the easiest. I would have liked the moon roof as well. Over all very nice SUV.

This is a great SUV. We'd been looking to replace our 2000 Expedition for months when I finally saw a Limited on the road. One simple, but important, selling point for my wife and I are the 10-way power adjustable low-back bucket seats in the front. Unlike all other Expeditions, the Limited has front seats with adjustable headrests (very similar to the Navigator seats) rather than the one-piece seatbacks. Woodgrain on the steering wheel and handle above the glove box along with monochrome leather seats makes for a classy- looking interior. Monochrome exterior with painted mirrors looks great (other Expeditions have black mirrors). Quiet, smooth ride, lots of nice options and excellent safety features.

I just bought a new Expedition to replace an older 2000 model. The newer model has a bigger engine, better acceleration, but a pretty bad blind spot when merging left. There is a TON of room on the inside, can fit just about anything with the seats down, including lounge chairs.

We bought our first Expedition in 1997. We never had it in the shop except for routine maintenance.Thought it was time to trade for a fresh one. This one has a ride that rivals my Continental (air suspension), gas milage is 17 locally and 19 on highway trips. So many comfort and convenience features are included, I forget it is a truck - until I was off road hunting. It is comfortably at home in that environment too. I am even more pleased than I expected to be and my wife and I rush to be the one to drive it every day. Ford has really refined this vehicle.

We had owned a 2000 Expedition and really liked the size of the truck. It had a few drawbacks; third seat, and ride comfort. Having three children we needed the room. The new Expedition is an excellent choice; Ford improved the ride comfort of the truck. The air conditioned seats are a must have and the folding rear seat makes the vehicle much more user frendly.

My Expedition has just over 10K miles and it has been in for repair four times for the same problems. Rattles in the doors, squeaks in the back seat, and blue smoke pours out of the tailpipe upon cold start up. I've also had trouble with the touchpad keyless entry, electric mirrors and the remote locks. The dealership has not fixed but one problem the first time in. I have had to clean out the car every time to allow them to evaluate the rattles. I purchased the extended warranty and the pre-paid maintenance plan. Buying this car from this manufacturer and this dealer was a horrible mistake. Ford will accept no responsibility for their own poor quality workmanship. Never Again - NO MORE FORDS!

This is my third Expedition and I love them. Handling is the best. For a large vehicle it handles great and parks very easily. Towing is no problem and the new 5.4 engine should solve the only complaint by improving gas mileage while adding power.

Very convenient vehicle with great towing capacity. Typical 5.4 liter is noisy and loves gas. Second Expedition I have purchased because of reliability and ease of operation. Family friendly easy to access third row.

With the arrival of our 3rd child we test drove several SUV's and chose the Expedition. We test drove the Nissan Armada, Honda Pilot, Toyota Sequoia, and two minivans. We needed room, AWD or 4WD for beach excursions, and towing for a recreational boat. I've hauled as many as 7 people (with luggage) comfortably and everything from 6 ft. tables to 8 ft. long 2x4's. The highway ride is smooth and passing is a breeze with the 5.4L engine. Turn radius is surprisingly tight for a large vehicle. My biggest disapointment is the mileage. We knew it would be bad, but we don't even get 14 mpg. We drive mostly highway miles and try to keep rpm's to 2K. Our 2001 F-350 7.5L TD averages a better 19 mpg.

Regarding the "low-rent" interior, I got a wood kit from the dealer and factored in to the monthly payment, which made the interior look "high-end" and very luxurious. This truck is great, with a much more flexible interior versus the other larger competitiors. The 2005 5.4L has a little more horsepower, which I would have appreciated over my 2004. Otherwise, no complaints (and this from a former BMW owner!). As a suggestion, an updated Nav system, built in Bluetooth and a cassette option would have been appreciated.

Optioned up with air suspension, tow package, side airbags & AdvanceTrac, the Limited has all the features & functionality of the Lincoln at about $10k less - and much less of the 'look at me' due to the monochrome paint treatment. Needed towing capability, and it's been great right out of the box - new 300hp motor is stronger - but you have to dip into the throttle a bit more than you would expect to get at the power. Almost bought an '04 Eddie Bauer, but glad I waited.

It is a good truck but lost some of the old ways of doing things on the inside, like seats that do more and visors that block the sun all the way around but overall it is a great truck.

This vehicle is everything that it is hyped up to be. It is rugged in snow and mud. It is also good at pulling a 28" trailer. The interior is very comfortable and the heated front seats are great in the winter.

It's an Eddie Bauer 2H-AWD-4WH-4WL with Advance-Track & Stability Control. So it only gets 14-19 m/g as advertised (and it really does) and what would you expect with that new big engine. It's a lot smoother ride than my previous 2000 Expedition EB (AWD) and I think the 2H feature of this tranny contributes to this as much as the independent suspension on the straight aways when I compare the two.The maneuverability is awesome, so that must be where the roll stability and advance track comes in; it's like driving a fine automobile at speed. It just doesn't feel like a large SUV.And there is no road shock coming through the steering column, floor board or dashboard on rougher roads. ROCKSOLID I love it!

Well last year as a New Year's present I bought myself a Dodge Durango. Well it was a really bad choice i made, so this year i decided to get rid of that piece of junk and got myself a nice Expedition. This thing looks better, rides better, and has a more powerful engine; i think it does at least. The inside seems roomier and is much nicer looking. Seems like i am driving a Lexus at times. I carpool a lot and the people i carpool with love it. I highly recommend that you go out and buy one. i wish it would get better gas mileage but it is better than my old 2004 Dodge Durango.

I love this truck! It has tons of room. With 3 young kids, (4, 3, 16 months), a double & single stroller & a dog I still can go food shopping without worrying about room. One of the best features is the 2nd seat in the 2nd row moves forward so a newborn/infant can be closer to mom. Another plus & must have is the rear sensing system. The biggest & best feature.... It's affordable!

I purchased the 2005 Expedition in November to replace my 2000. I could not be more pleased. The 300 hp engine provides the power and quickness that the older version needed. It took Ford a while to match the engine with the vehicle but they did a good job. The Expedition is well behaved on slick and icy streets and is a pleasure to drive in good weather. I find I get almost 16 mpg in the city and 20+ on the highway. Fuel economy can still increase but it is better than it was.

We owned a 1997 model which I liked better overall. Some good improvements are, the power third row seat which is a great improvement. The rear door is lighter and the power lock on the rear window is handy. The middle storage between the front seats is huge compared to my 97 model. I had a problem with poor quality leather front seats which the dealer replaced. The air conditioner freezes up on the highway and stops blowing cold air. A little slow on the start for such a big engine but move along nice once you get going.

My Expedition is the best SUV that I have ever owned. I drive a lot and need and comfortable vehicle. My onboard computer reminds me that this huge vehicle averages over 20 mpg. I preferred this to both the large Lexus, Tahoe and Toyota. Ford has hit a homerun with this versatile vehicle. The Eddie Bauer model is worth ther extra money!

Ford must be doing something right-- this is my fourth Expedition. My latest is the Limited model. Overall, I love it. It's got more pickup and better gas mileage. The build quality is superb. It's quiet, tight, and handles well for a SUV. However, whoever designed the main instrument cluster should be tested. It's my only sore point in an otherwise outstanding vehicle because it looks cheap and is not in keeping with the rest of the Limited's features. Why won't Ford at least offer Michelin tires as an option? My wife's Lincoln has them and they are much better tires than the Continentals. Even so, I would gladly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a full size SUV.

I owned a Eddie Bauer previously and was not in the market untill I found out about the uped Horsepower and a LIMITED model! So I layed down and bought one and have to say, not too much different than my 2004. Other than the cosmetics and a tad more horsepower, esentially same SUV. The cure for brake dust (in my case) is to add big chrome wheels and tires, no brake dust is evident. If I wasen't privy to buying as a Ford employee (A- plan) the Denali is a much better SUV, which I would prefer.

This vehicle is comfortable and great to drive. You are not tired and stiff like a lot of vehicles. The stability, handling and power of the expedition is excellent. The gas mileage is great, 22 hwy. and 16 city. That is great mileage for a big powerful and comfortable vehicle like the expedition.

2wd Limited with Cashmere clearcoat option (very nice color). Minimal options -- power rear seats, Homelink, and limited slip differential. Very roomy and tall -- this baby is big -- barely fits in the garage. A behemoth - - but it rules. Handles almost as well as my Lexus IS300 that I traded (well, not that good but...not bad either). And it's plenty fast with the new 300hp V8. I love this thing. By the way, get the Ford ESP warranty on the web (Loman Ford) -- don't buy from dealer (unless you need to finance it).

biggest draw back is poor milage--to be expected with such a large vehicle. Standard features galore, good performance out of the new 300 hp engine. my vehicle equipped with 4 corner load leveling--handles very well.

I purchased the a new 04 Expedition seven months ago to replace a 97 Explorer. Overall we (the family) are very pleased with the vehicle. On the positive side it rides well, handles good for a big vehicle and has good pickup when you need it. The inside is roomy and comfortable. The heated and cooled seats are a little strange at first, but they are a nice touch. Overall this is a great vehicle if you want a large SUV.

Ive had several squeaks, bangs, and clicks that cannot be fixed. That is annoying. However, I really like the car - except for the gas mileage which is a killer! 16 mpg is THE MOST I have been able to get on the highway and with gas as high as it is - little car - here I come
