SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE | TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM

Honda is recalling certain model year 2005 Pilot vehicles manufactured July 29, 2004, through August 29, 2005; model year 2005-2006 Acura MDX vehicles manufactured September 16, 2004, through September 22, 2005; and model year 2005 Acura RL vehicles manufactured March 1, 2004, through June 29, 2005. An electrical capacitor may have been damaged during the manufacturing of the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) control module causing intermittent, automatic, minor brake application. However, if the driver applies the brakes while the VSA is malfunctioning, the vehicle may come to an abrupt stop. Additionally, due to a loose ground connection, certain model year 2005 Pilots have a VSA system that may apply partial brake force, without the illumination of the brake lights, whether or not the driver is using the brakes.

A hidden gem.

I traded an 05 Lexus GS300 for this car. I found the GS extremely comfortable, quiet, and with solid build quality. But I wouldn't go back to that because it was just a bore to drive. Now to the RL. I could care less that this looks or is often mistaken for a Honda Accord. I'll readily admit Acura doesn't have the prestige factor of a Lexus or Audi, both of which I've owned. It's not why I buy cars. The RL is really a hidden gem, a sleeper of sorts. It might not look special, it might not be the fastest, most luxurious nor the best driving car. It ccomplishes what I both need and desire in a car - AWD (sh-awd is no gimic, this system should be the AWD standard. I've owned a few Audi's and while Quattro is great in its own right especially in snow, Honda has something great in SH-AWD), reliability, sportier driving dynamics, luxury features, decent style in/out (nothing flashy, not overstyled, something that will age well, which conservative styling typically achieves) And honestly, I think it's a great looking car. There are a couple things I'd change which I know Acura has in newer models. The 5 speed tranny is slow to shift in manual mode. It also seems more geared toward fuel economy over sport, which I'd get but the fuel economy isn't the greatest. There are bigger cars with V8's that get better mileage. I don't like that I have to switch to a different menu to control the climate. The voice commands are helpful but not always practical (like if a passenger is trying to sleep)

Very Happy

I have put 170K+ miles on my 05 RL so I can confidently say I know this car. Still looks new and draws attention. Front tie rods replaced twice, once under warranty. Two sets of brakes and on third set of tires. Front head light adjusting warning light has been on for the last 100K, can't be turned off and I am not paying to replace the head lights. A few minor electrical problems but that has been it. I runs like new. I have driven 12 hours staight, great seats, quite, comfortable and reliable. Not good in snow even with AWD. Buy four Blizzak snows if you drive in the white stuff. Dealership service has been A+. The BEST GPS system made on earth. Waiting for the 2011. Best car ever.

Great car, had it for 2 years and no problems at all. I was looking at Lexus, as i had Es300 for 6 years when i went to school, but wanted something more sporty. G35x was another possibility, but it was too small for me. Car is very reliable and comfortable for long rides. This is the car you can take for skiing trip in the winter and feel safe during any weather. Its 5 years old now, but i still get compliments how nice it looks. Mine is blue metal, tinted. I drove my roommates Mercedes E550 many times, and RL is very similar to E550. It doesn't have as much toque but picks up speed as quickly as E550. Its a keeper for the comfort, AWD and BOSE system sounds great with XM by the way.

I searched for a luxury used car after my BMW 525 totaled by an accident. Acura rl was the answer. Its interior is beautiful and comfortable. I wasn't impressed by exterior first but it keeps growing on me. Navigation system is the best so far. My wife and baby daughter love back seat sunshades. It doesn't drive like a BMW but its awd really works. The cabin is Lexus- quiet and stereo sound is the best I ever heard. RL's unpopularity, price is more reasonable which was good for me. Unfortunately, fuel economy is pretty bad in city. For luxury used car for a price, rl just can't be beat. Last, I am happy with acura's reliability which I had suffered from BMW.

I have purchased my last few cars (all used) and I've tried to move up with each purchase. I traded an Infiniti I35 and purchased this used RL (which had 16.7K miles on it). The car has been a pleasure to drive, but the amount of money that I have had to put into repairs has been a major disappointment. In the 16 months that I have owned the car I've had to replace the driver's side power mirror, a major repair to the air conditioner and replace one of the motors in the passenger's side seat. The total repairs cost $3,000 and the car has 50K miles on it. I've owned used Mazda's and Infinit's and never had these type of major repair issues. I am very disappointed in the RL's reliability

The SH-AWD is very fun to use around turns, but I doubt most people will ever push this car hard enough to experience it. When you go into turns you really just have to push it and let the computers take over which is a bit unnerving at first, but you can really feel it pivot as the car overdrives the outside wheels. The dash is controls are very easy to use and pretty intuitive and I love that everything can be done through the Navigation screen which is large, easy to read and sits high in the dashboard. My biggest complaint with this car are the rattles and creaks. That is a deal breaker for me, but fortunately it doesn't bother my wife who drives it.

I wish the Acura RL could use "real looking wood" like my 05 Acura TL did... it's so plastic looking. It is a great car though. Seems not as sporty as a car like a 5 series, but reliability is its strong suit. 80,000 miles on it and plan on keeping for long term... only issue is it is boring (true disclosure most cars after a while bore me:).

Ok so Ive had this car since 2005 and have taken it to hell and back. I drive it hard and floor it at least a couple times a day. I spend a ton of time in it and I don't think the drivers seat could be better. Also the audio system is great as is the whole interior. Issues To date: Both side mirrors wiggling (48k) Rear sunshade rattle (55k) HID Bulbs Replaced (110k) Replaced Bank 1 & 2 o2 sensors (140k) Other then that I've only done the scheduled maintenance as recommended by the maintenance minder system. I can honestly say I will definitely buy the new RL when it comes out I assume in 2011... I might just take this one to the 300000 mile mark!

I moved from an 02 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro w/ sport package into an Acura RL. All I can say is that I love this car. It's loaded with just about every option you would expect from a luxury car. It handles great considering the size of this car and sharp turns aren't dramatic and feels well planted. The ride quality is great although some might consider it a bit harsh, as for me, it's a huge improvement compared to the A4. Coming from an Audi, I'm used to expecting good material and build quality and this car doesn't disappoint. Just drive the cars you are considering and see which you like better. There's not much to complain about the RL, it's a fine automobile and you can bargain on price.

Leg room driver's side needs improvement. Large foot block left side prevents extending left leg unless you are less than 5 feet tall. Mileage not good in city driving. Highway mileage is good. Needs more insulation. Hard to carry conversation with back seat riders due to road noise.

Drives great, but watch out for too many gadgets. Battery drain is a common problem, especially since awkward 2nd key position issue leads to frequent battery drains. Make sure you carry a jump box, I've owned the car for about 1.5 years and have had to jump it 20+ times.

This is an excellent car. Very well designed with all the features you need or want. Even better all the technology works and is easy to use. This is vastly different than so many of the other cars in its class. The BMW and Mercedes NAV Systems are hard to use and inferior, the Lexus GS has no back seat or trunk space, and the AWD puts all of them in the shade. It is a quality car for the real world, not a special use vehicle that can only be used part time for some things. The only thing I would add would be some additional torque since the AWD will allow it to be used effectively.

I am a BMW 7-series and Benz S class owner. Also had Escalade previously. The RL looked unique in design and the interiro was impressive at first. Factory refuses to address design flaw...exhaust stains the rear fender and no response provided. Stereo system about the best I've ever heard in a car...first-class. Like the 6- cylinder performance and road mileage. Tends to rumble in low gear early in the day. Dealer hasn't fixed yet. Lots of interiro rattle from rear window shade. Dealer has not fixed. With MSRP arounds 50 or a little less, a good value. But I don't know I would get another.

Just keep 5 words in mind..HONDA ACCORD WITH BIG PRICETAG - thats what it is. I've given this vehicle about a year. Initial quality seemed okay. Since then it's a horror show. Rattles, squeeks, noises from windows, dashboard, back panels, seatbelts ...everywhere.. make it sound like a NYC taxi. I heard this before buying but didn't believe it. Now I do. Customer care is NON EXISTANT. Dealer is clueless and can't fix anything, even after bringing in new service mgr...car not fixed when returned, not ready when promised, etc. etc. Headquarters also seems unconcearned and is not responsive. Overall a major waste of money and miserable ownership experience compared to my prev. 2 Lincolns.

I previosly owned an Infiniti and while I enjoyed that car for the price you just can't beat the RL. Very good ride quality and everything is standard including On Star and GPS. By comparison I would have had to spend $8,000 more for an M35 with the same equipment and not get On Star which is something I wanted ever since my wife has had it in her Mercedes. Everyone who has driven with me comments on the beautifull interior. I just wish the back seat had a little more room. No problems at all. When you compare features to features with other cars, it's a no brainer. hb

Coming from a 1997 Mercedes E420, the Acura RL is a "downgrade" from a V8, but it's an upgrade in every other way. I was sick of the repair bills on the Benz ($500 to fix a outside mirror motor!), and so far, the RL has been without fault. I miss the torque of a V8, but I appreciate the improved fuel-economy, and for 90% of driving, the RL has plenty of power. However, if they had offered a larger version of this car with a V8, I would have bought that. One of the biggest reasons I bought this car is price. I paid $44,100 for it, before taxes, which is a bargin for all the content the RL includes as standard. With the same features, BMW, Mercedes, and even Lexus are much more $$$.

I bought this car a little over a year ago and within a month I started experiencing total electrical failure. This has happened about six times over the last 14 months. I brought it to two dealers and nothing seems to fix it permanently. Acura roadside assistance is a joke unless you liking waiting 3 to 4 hours for help. The car looks great and when it is working (which is rare), it performs well. Gas mileage is dismal.

I have had my RL for about 9 months now. This is an amazing vehicle. It could use a little more low end torque, but I knew this when I bought the car (V6 can't give V8 torque). The ride is smooth and quick, but still with some "feel". The interior is incredible: comfortable seats, well laid out controls. Best of all everything!!! is adjustable, and retained in memory, for each driver: from seat and mirror positions, to when the auto headlights turn on, to auto door locks, to radio presets. Voice recognition is very good. Looks a little too much like the Accord but this is minor when all the rest is considered. This is the most tech. advanced car on the market.

Just purchased the 2005 RL. What a great car. Had a Lexus GS, looked at the Audi A6, and new Lexus GS. Really no comparison. Liked the no options idea. The others had too many option packages. The car rides great, has great interior and is quick for a V6. This car by far had the best value for what you get. Would recommend it over the others no problem. If you're thinking of buying one, do it!

Just finished a 4000+ mile trip in this vehicle - performed great! Mostly interstate driving, but some dirt road travel for hiking, and through Vail pass during a major snow storm. Handling was great, no performance problems. The X-M radio and Nav package were really nice to have on a trip like this, although the Nav package got confused a couple of times with new construction - but I guess that is what updates are for.

We bought the car last summer and traded our 2001 E class because of the continuing Mercedes dying battery problem when the car was left unattended. We have always had Mercedes, Audis and BMW and hoped the reliability factor would be better with Acura/Honda...it is. The only issue was with the tire balance and Acura replaced the tires! Service has been wonderful and the car is far better in every way than the Mercedes. The Mercedes mileage was a little better, about one MPG, but we average 21 overall and 26 to 28 highway so it isn't bad and, of course, best of all, the reliabiliy factor after six months is great.

I bought this vehicle with about 2000 miles on it. Apparently the person who owned it before me could not master its array of controls and turned it in early. I find the controls very intuitive and love everything about this car except the shifts which seem leisurely. Handling is great, acceleration is smooth and more than adequate, and the climate control system is quite effective. This car offers much more than a comparably priced BMW which I test drove.

Bought this car a year ago -- very pleased. Sound system is simply amazing. Front seats are comfortable and controls easy to reach. Smooth, solid ride. I'm not a car enthusiast, but love driving this car. Traffic integrated into nav system is nice and I've used the nav system more than I ever expected to. On the downside, keyless remote is not great for women (who don't always have pockets and have to find somplace to put it) and it is VERY easy not to turn the ignition off completely, resulting in a dead battery. Ride could be quieter at high speeds.

The 05 RL is a fine automobile. The main complaint I have is on the transmission. The car does not downshift when slowing down to corner. As a result, the car will shudder at low speeds until you begin to accelerate and the transmission and the engine finally get back in sync. I have taken the car back to the dealer several times for the problem, they have installed the new software patch to solve the problem. But it does not work any better. I have called Acura's national service organization and had them review it and they say it is working per "specifications". It was a nice way to say they have blown it on the spec.

Wow what an amazing car. This car has got everything and I mean everything from SH-AWD the only AWD that transfer torque from the front and the back and also right and left. From the sun sensors when you have your AC they sense where the sun is to make everyone equal temperature even when the suns beating down. Two sunshades one on each rear window and one power one on the rear that when you have the sunshade up and you pop it into reverse it lowers. From keyless entry to the voice activated DVD and when you want fast food you click the button and say "Nearest Fast Food" and it brings up the nearest fast food place to where you are. Very comfortable seats and very quiet inside. BEST CAR EVER

Acura has built a fine automobile with all the "bells and whistles", but unfortunately my car was delivered without the latest updates resulting in three dead batteries. Additionally, the upper information display is not visible in bright sunlight so a better design should be made so that feature can be useful.

I looked seriously at Lexus and Mercedes and Infiniti. For the money there was no comparison. Very reliable, all the high tech items work (BlueTooth, XM, Navigation, Voice Commands, etc. Gas Mileage better than I had anticipated, 28 mpg at 75-80 mph. The ride and interior are first class with much more room than the E Class MB and Lexus GS. So far I have had no problems with the car. I had the Ground Effects added to the car and it greatly enhances its looks and gives it a much sportier stance. The only issues that I do have are: The trunk is too small and poorly shaped; the auto on/off feature on the headlights rings a chime when you turn off the ignition and exit the car.

The new Acura RL is the best car I have owned in every facet of your imagination. It is a Lxy Sdn when you want it too be and with in a moments notice, it is a Spts Sdn on demand. Cornering with this car is phenomenal, I feels as though it corners even better with your foot heavily down on the accel peddle. This one of kind SH-AWD (Super handling AWD) sys gives you confidence that you can never imagine with out actually driving the RL. I have taken in on road trips and was very impressed with the 28 mpg I got on the hwy cruising along at 80 mph. The sound sys makes you think that you are actually in a music hall but in reality you are in your RL. The ease of use the bluetooth cntrl.....

Took delivery of Redondo Red Pearl RL on Halloween and have been in heaven for my commute ever since. Rock solid ride, quiet luxurious interior, PLENTY of power (looking forward to getting past initial break-in) and fantastic handling for such a heavy car. Nits being picked in some reviews should be taken as just that, everybody has an opinion. I'm sure that after a few months I won't know how I survived without Navi & Voice Command in the past; neat to find restaurants, ATMs, etc. Sound system is worthy of a large room; 5.1 Surround Sound Audio disc free with purchase is a feast for the ears. Co-workers and neighbors all want to know what it is.

Definitely sit in the driver's seat and try to get comfortable. I was never able to get completely comfortable, but close enough to be happy. After 1,000 miles, I'm still happy.

Last 3 cars, 2 MBs and a G35; the Acura tops them all. Drove all the competition and found the Acura the most solid on the road. Absolutely no problems for the Acura in first 7000 miles, delivers fair city mileage and excellent highway mileage, driving an even 70 on interstate have achieved 30 MPG but more often about 27 to 28.

I have been driving my RL for the last two months and I am very pleased with the vehicle. As the owner of a 2002 TL Type-S, I find the difference in the two cars to be everything I expected it to be. While I enjoy the sporty ride I get from my TL, when I get into the RL I can still appreciate sporty but I get a hugh dose of luxury. The comfort of the interior is beyond what you would expect from a car that on the surface appears so sporty. The handling is also excellent. Very quick and responsive.

Having test driven the competition, I feel the RL stands up to all comers. The car rides very well, is packed with features (the stereo is incredible) and, though lacking a bit in the excitement department, the car does everything very well. Dollar for dollar, the RL was by far the best value in the class. Thus far we are delighted by our purchase of the RL. Give the RL a shot if looking for a luxury sedan.

Test drove most of the competition from MB, BMW and Lexus. I think the RL is the best value and best overall performer in its class. It may not have the best handling and road feel, nor the most horsepower or torque, but I feel it is close to being the best in all categories. I didn't find a perfect car in my test drive (with a budget of under $60,000) and the RL is as close as it gets.

Have owned five Mercedes, four BMW, two Saab. Acura RL is the best of the bunch because it has has modern, timeless styling that grows on you with time. The interior is totally modern and a pleasing, comfortable, friendly environment. Performance is more than adequate and 28 mpg at 80 mph on the highway is good for a 300 hp 4x4 luxury sedan. What I like most is you have something modern, enduring and unique with long term durability, and you don't see yourself coming and going in upscale locations. Mercedes has too many models and is no longer unique; and their quality is sagging. BMW is too flashy and yuppie and has durability problems. GM has ruined Saab and it may never recover.

Made great time and avergaed 27 mpg. Was not the least bit tired when I got home. I give the credit to the RL - driving is not work in this car. Technology is awesome. Navigation system has been on the mark 100% of the time. Have 10000 miles without a glich. Last car, 2003 Volvo XC70, had 3 visits to dealer by now. Trunk a bit small and kids (3) wish for a little more width in back seat. Highly recommend it.

This is the fourth Acura I have owned and each time I get a new one, every three years, I am thrilled with it. However, the new 05 RL has so many improvements that I do not know where to begin. The best feature with the biggest difference that I have found is the ALL - WHEEL drive; very necessary if you live in the New England area. Not having all wheel drive would have been my only reason for looking at another brand of automobile. I get approximately 19 to 20 miles per gallon average with the 300 hp engine. No need to look at another vehicle.

I have read some reviews about a lack of performance, acceleration in particular. I come out of the sports car group of guys but I bought this for highway use and in town business use. It's a great sedan, not a great sports car. I was bolting through town tonight at about 65mph and the thing was surrealisticaly quiet. Beautiful, really good handling, tight, deliberate, but quiet. I like it. I bought the black. It's beautiful. The onboard system, if you like that kind of thing, and thats an important question, the systems are by far the best ever. When you get it new, just work out one system at a time or you will be overwhelmed. Today I put up the last one, the phone system. You gotta like it.

Owned 92 Legend and a 2000 RL previously. This new RL is a great car. The interior is amazing, I love the wood and the leather. The exterior- the front could have been better, the rear is great. The 18" chome wheels made a huge difference as did the rear deck spoiler. One of the best stock audio systems I have heard, no need for an iPod connection as it will play MP3 CD-R's (about 120 songs per disk) and they sound great. Navi voice commands work great, the traffic is sometimes not accurate, but I am sure will get better. The command knob for the Navi, audio and climate is much improved over the pointer and touch screen. Rear window sun shades are great. Handling with the AWD is awesome.

I looked at every equivalent Mercedes, BMW, and Audi before deciding on the RL. While each model had it's pluses and minuses, the combination of price, features, and prior experience with the reliability of the RL made it an unbeatable combination. As with the first year of any new model, I certainly was in the break-in phase for much of the electronics. Lots of little glitches with OnStar, Navigation, and XM Radio, but they were all minor annoyances. The performance and handling of the SH4WD is just unbelievable, especially given you're technically driving a near- luxury sedan. Finally, this last winter was a tough one, and there were times when I got stuck in my 4WD F250, but not my RL

Good visibility from the drivers seat all around the car. The seats are very comfortable with automatic controls for an excellent ride. The telescoping steering wheel is easily adjusted for comfort. Although I bought my RL in July of 05, I'm still finding new reasons to love it here in Sept 05. The styling is great, the interior is 1st rate and the amenities are top notch, i.e., the steering wheel tilts up when the engine is turned off to allow free access out of the car. Although the city gas mileage is not great (I get about 22mpg freeway driving), I know it's because I have heavy foot and demand performance from my vehicles. When I hit the gas to go around a suddenly braking car in front of me I need my car to respond and the RL does, admirable. Also, the real time traffic on the NAVI is great for my commuting in the mornings. I am a satisfied customer.

After 7 months and 6k miles, the RL is still perfect. Took it back in for first service recently, oil change and tire rotation, and there is still nothing wrong, no squeaks, rattles, leaks, or problems of any kind. I compared it with MB E320, BMW 530, Lexus, and Audi, and now realize I definitely made the right purchase decision. I can recommend it to anyone who is looking for a luxury performance automobile.

Cannot see the fenders for parking, hard handling, feels like I am steering a truck. Doors in front much to heavy. Mileage is way off. Too many bells and whistles. This is my third Acura.

This car has a computer glitch that discharges the battery when the car isn't driven for a few days. The car has been towed to the dealership twice and is currently sitting at the dealership waiting for a "fix" from Acura. This problem isn't peculiar to my car but is a significant problem that other Acura RL owners have encountered. I am currently going thru arbitration with the State of Ct to get a refund since Acura doesn't know when the fix will be available. The keyless feature to start the car can lead to problems if you let a valet park the car. Sometimes the ignition is left in the acces position. The GPS works better in the TL model. The transmission has a very long lag time.

This is the 6th Acura I have owned -- starting w/ Legends. This is the best yet. Love the bells and whistles, plenty of them. Quick movement from 300 horsepower. However, not a knock out in styling, too much like the TL. But performance, top of the line. Happy to be an owner. Sound system is the best ever, listen to the 5.1 surround sound music in this car, I need a chauffer. To the owners who have not learned the detail of this vehicle, you are missing out.

I went back and forth between the 2005 RL and the 2006 Lexus GS300. The GS300 had a better feel for the road, but you are paying a few thousand dollars just for the name. The RL ride may be a little more boring, but it is much more spacious feeling than the GS300, and the seating position is better to see the road. The RL's standard nav, awesome sound system system, and XM radio represent much better value. Getting around 19 mpg city.

I looked at the Lexus & Infiniti, and by far nothing compared to the RL. The Acura is so loaded with stuff I couldn't ask for anything else! The all-wheel drive is seamless and absolutely incredible around turns. I love the Voice-Activated Nav system, I can say "temperature 57 degrees", it's crazy. If you want the best bang for the buck go with the Acura.

The Good: The RL is a technological marvel that offers a superb value in its segment. Most of the options that you would pay extra for in other makes are standard in this car. Keyless Access, Navigation, Surround Sound, Hands Free Link, Xenon Adaptive Front lights, Rear Sunshade, Onstar, XM Satellite Radio & Real Time Traffic, etc... The list goes on and is quite extensive. The ride is quiet and smooth. Complemented with the superb SH-AWD system with 290HP, the RL is fun to drive. This is not a sports car, but it has plenty of 'go' to help you pass other people in the left lane. The Bad: The paint is thin and chips easily. Others have posted problems with the battery.

Nice luxury vehicle. Tested against most competition (BMW, Audi, Infinity) and was best overall. Technically advanced...do not purchase if you are technically challenged. Interior is outstanding, 5.1 surround sound is excellent. Exterior paint quality is best out there. Drives like a smaller car, SH-AWD does work and enables advanced performance around corners. I would definitely buy it again. Pete

Acura may have been easily overlooked in the past for the over conservative styling and mediocre performance when it came to a luxury sedan - no more! This car is packed with everything you could need - and then some. It could be a generational thing, but I'm 39 and found the technology smart, easy and fun to use. Well thought out and with so many ways to do things, you can pick your style - voice, direct or a combination of both. It really feels like a luxury sedan when you want it to be, but steps up to the plate for some fun, sporty driving when you need it to be. The technology, sound system (wow!), fit and finish will blow you away. Look out Lexus, Acura has come a knocking.

I purchased my car back in march after test driving numerous vehicles. The RL is by far dollar for dollar better than leading competitors. The only thing that still puzzles me is this rattling noise that comes either from the front brakes because of the mounting or underneath the body while going over cobble stone roads or just cracks on the road, but the SH-AWD is what sold me.

LOVE the tiptronic - can really zoom in low gear. Have averaged 22.5 mpg in mixed suburban/highway driving. The ergonomics are spectacular. Absolutely the best overall VALUE in its class, no question.

Simple to operate, yet loaded with features such as handsfree Bluetooth telephone, real-time satellite traffic and XM radio. And best of all - it's all standard. There is no other car in this class - not BMW, not Mercedes, not Lexus, not Audi - where you get what the RL offers for $50K. When you get done with all the upgrades needed on other models to even come close to matching the RL, you've already moved into a whole different price range. You just simply cannot go wrong with this car, and its a pleasure to drive.

Never thought I'd switch from Mercedes, but this car is everything and more — I had to own it. It drives and handles better than any Benz or BMW I've owned and handles curves the way no other car I tested could. I'd seen the Infiniti designs for the M and didn't care for them. Glad I went with the Acura. It's interior and exterior get raves and comments everywhere I travel. Even parking jockeys are amazed at this car. This is the real thing, a nearly perfect luxur/sports sedan and at a more than competitive price. A new BMW owner took one drive with me and hung his head woefully, wondering if he could still get his money back!

...just crossed the one week mark of ownership on a 2005 RL. I am extremely happy with it. I am a bit surprised at the gas mileage but in speaking to other RL owners, gas mileage should improve steadily and level off at about 4,000 - 5,000 miles. The NAV system features are incredible. The voice command system works flawlessly although there are a lot of commands to memorize if you want to control everything by voice. The sound system is AWESOME.

The quality and overall technology put into this vehicle is outstanding. The voice recognition features and use of technology is the best I've seen in any vehicle. I've owned BMW's, an Audi A6 (Quattro) and Mercedes. I and have test driven Infiniti's M35. Based upon my experience the Acura is the most user friendly vehicle I've encountered. While it is quick, the Acura could use more low end torque to get it off the line quicker and a little more responsive, such as Infiniti has done with the M35.

This car is not only a pleasure to drive, but it's a pleasure to be driven in. An exceptional body structure, sophisticated electronics, excellent handling characteristic, and more than sufficient power for every day driving experiences made this an excellent choice for me. My other car is a Boxster S, so I get to play with something that is much more fun, but for a satisfying commute to work, golf, or a long trip, I know of no car in this price range that I would find to be of greater value. I test drove the e-class Mercedes, Audi's A6 and the 5-series BMW and preferred Acura's RL to the Germans.

I've been waiting for this car. I traded in my 94 Legend and couldn't be happier. My only wish is that they rename it and bring back the "Legend" name. I've always liked the "no add ons" "all included" aspects of the RL. It drives great with more power than I need. I'm still learning all the new high tech aspects and it is a challenge to not be distracted by the technology (messages, voice commands, etc) while driving. Since there aren't a lot of new RLs on the road yet I get quite a lot of attention and questions from interested people. All are impressed with its looks. I also drive an X5. The X5 is great for a weekly commute I do (523 miles) because its higher and I feel safer in it.

I read up a lot about this car before I bought and have generally been very happy with it. However, about 2 mos after purchase, a rattle developed in the driver side dash. I have taken it to the dealership three times to have this corrected and they have yet to fix it permanently. They freely admit that this is a common problem with this new model and that the factory has no good fix for it. A $50K car should not have a problem like this. I like the way it handles and the overall comfort level. The voice activated system is "over the top" and generally unnecessary (there are more that 4 ways to adjust radio volume alone, why not just turn the knob?). The all wheel drive is great.

This Acura RL replaced my BMW 745i. The ride in the Acura is comparable to the BMW---only the Acura is MUCH more reliable. I have had the Acura for 3 months. My BMW had been towed twice in the first three months!

This care is really comfortable and has some great technology that could use just a bit of tweaking. Love the sound system. Mine came with loose battery cable, sunroof & door gasket damage, and a problem with the starter switch that left me stranded in my garage and still is not resolved after 3 visits to dealer. Bluetooth phone is great but not fully functional with Verizon phones. Turning radius a bit wide. Rear visibility is not terrible compared to other new models, but overall visibility is still a bit restricted. Lots of the features (auto door lock, displays, etc) are easily programmed to suit your prefs. Overall I love this car -- it's a pleasure to get in and drive somewhere!

When I first picked my RL up I was a bit anxious about all the new technology, but after days of playing and asking questions I fell in love with my car. I feel like a female Bond in it. The handling is superior to my other vehicles including my Lexus. It's built strong but sleek. It gets lots of head turns at the gas pump.

As Fun a car to drive as I have ever owned. The only issue with it was when I went on vacation and the car sat for 2 weeks, it did not start. I was originally told that due to the amount of computers in this car, the draw on the battery was causing the problem. I did not buy it. After the second time it happened, the dealer said they found the problem and fixed it. We will see if the next time I park it for an extended period it starts.

Although my wife and I have only 250 miles on the car, she really likes all the technology and the handling. My biggest complaint is the interior cabin road noise. Completely unacceptable in a $45,000 car. I am not sure why all the noise, but I have inquired with the dealership and am waiting for answers. I drive a 1994 Lexus LS 400 and was very surprised at the difference in the road noise between the cars

I was just about to purchase my 3rd brand new MB when I accidentally ended up in the Acura dealer's parking lot. I was taking "that" drive to make that final purchase decision on the MB, but...the rest is history. There isn't any reason to purchase a Luxury sedan with half the features of the RL and at 1/3 a higher price. Compare the RL's features, size, and safety features against the MB "E" class. (Whoops, don't forget to look at the price tag after you do that.)

We had a bad accident in the rain in an FWD performance car (Volvo S60). The car spun out of control when the front weels hydroplaned. RWD and AWD had to be considered for the next purchase. I tried a number of all wheel drive alternatives (Audi, Volvo, BMW) and the RL was the only one that didn't plow around corners at speed. The responsiveness of the RL to driver input is terrific, and the handling is better than a BWW or Mercedes, IMHO. I think the cars exterior style is much better than you can you can see in photos. In person it has a wonderful agressive stance. The interior is beautiful, and well assembled: no rattles, very quiet, very Lexus like.

As a former Acura TL owner I leased a 2004 Mercedes when I was ready for a new car because I didn't like the new shorter TL style and hated the old boxy RL. When the redesigned RL hit the market, I feel in love with the new sleeker RL body style and all of Acura's technology. It wasn't long before I was saying goodbye to my Mercedes and hello to a new RL. It's a dream to drive, has all of the amenities a driver could ask for, and at a very reasonable price. Before getting my new RL I considered another Mercedes and looked at the Lexus GS and for my money the RL beats them both. As soon as I drove my RL home I felt as if I had just put back on an old pair of comfortable slippers.

Powerful and very stylish. The ride could be a little smoother, but for all of the standard features that come with this car, it's worth it to feel a couple of bumps in the road. The interior finish is impeccable, and the seats are the most comfortable car seats that I have ever sat in. I test drove the RL, Audi A6, Lexus GS 400, and the Mercedes E-Class ... the RL was hands down the best value of the bunch, or else I wouldn't be driving it! It had all the same features of its competitors, yet the price is thousands less. I don't see this as a quality issue ... I think that since the car comes standard with everything, Acura can cut its costs by making just one car and get economies of scale. Bravo!

I have only owned auto for two months and every day I become more impressed. To begin with, it is a real "Head Turner" and it's luxurious white color with cashmere interior is truly striking. The technology package has to be the very best on the market, although I must admit it took some time to be able to put it all into effective use! But, it is time well spent. The Navigation, Boze Surround Sound, and Bluetooth systems are all outstanding. This is all topped off by the fantastic handling supplied by the All-Wheel Drive system. It is just a great automobile and a great price/performer, which I think far outdistances it's competitors (and I tried them all!) Edmunds low rating is a surprise.

Handling The best I have experienced. I have not driven comparable G35 and E320 for longer then 30 minutes (test drive) nor, can I claim previous luxury car ownership. What I can say, however, is that entering a 120 degree, very sharp corner at 55 mph and exiting at 40 effortlessly impressed me, it impressed me even more, when the next morning I saw 15 mph speed limit on the same road coming from the opposite direction - I can only wonder why the sign was available only one way. Steering is extremely precise, the car goes EXACTLY where you point it, coupled with SH-AWD. Comparing that to my slightly wobbly jeep's steering - night and day.

Overall an extremely attractive, well built, fun to drive automobile. Thoughtful in its design, seamless in its execution. Has almost every feature you would expect (and then some) for a car at this price point. Honda pedigree ensures car will be reliable for years to come. May not have the road panache of an MB (we had previously owned 2 E-Class MBs) but the features/technology beats MB (and BMW) hands down. Purchased the Lakeshore silver exterior...really sharp.

Overall, I think the car is wonderful. I have been impressed with the combination of technology and creature comforts. The Bose sound system is top- notch. I am enamored of the keyless access remote, the design of the dashboard and steering wheel, and the quality of the exterior finish. Less satisfying have been my experiences linking my new Bluetooth Treo 650 to the HandsFree Link System and the changeover to a new DVD for the Navigation system which "lost" my ability to get real-time traffic reports. My dealer will address the latter as soon as I get the car in for a review. Acura sent me an updated DVD disc, which I loaded. That was when the trouble with the traffic updates began.

I think that the Acura RL is a hidden gem amongst the $50k luxury sedans and that's all right by me! I like the exclusivity of driving my RL in the "OC".....the land of MB, BMW, Lexus and Audis. I test drove the RL and the MB back-to-back and felt more at home with the RL. It had the right blend of luxury and sport, a solid reputation for quality, the highest ranking for safety, and a laundry list of techno- features to keep me entertained during my commute to work. As for the looks, it has a conservative, classy style which I have grown to appreciate, especially after upgrading the wheels to the 18in Acura chromes and adding the deck-lid spoiler...my RL is looking mighty fine now!

Since the purchase of my Acura RL I have enjoyed many miles of user friendly technology, and exhilerating performance. The Acura RL offers the best interior styling of any of its competitors hands down. The graceful lines of the dash are carried through into the trim throughout the cabin. The ride is exceptionally quiet and smooth with just enough feedback from the tires to make for a fun drive. The performance from their superior V6 engine is exceptional when coupled with the RL's advanced SH all-wheel-drive system. Also, the navigation system has been flawless, the voice recognition is precise, and the bluetooth interface for my cell phone is beautifully simple.

This car is an absolute joy! However, I will admit that the RL is not for everyone. It has more features for the price than any other car in its class. In some parts of the USA, you can get this car for close to invoice, which makes the price/features ratio even better. If you're a driving enthusiast, then the 5 series or Infiniti M might be your cup of tea. However, it you are a technophile who also like to drive, then the RL is for you! The audio system is phenomenal for standard equipment and the nav system is the most advanced I've experienced. "Super-Handling" All Wheel Drive might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it does work well. The RL is definitely worth it!

Sporty luxury sedan. Somewhat rough, choppy ride which perhaps is what it costs to get a tight, precise handling. Worrisome rattle from the suspension going over ruts and bumps, clearly audible at low speed. I have not heard of this problem from anyone else on this forum, however. Hope they can find the problem. Incredible array of electronic gadgetry; Onstar's phone system won't accept incoming calls, yet to be fixed. Sound system is superb, but XM satellite radio suddenly loses its memory of its presets. Would I buy this car again...yes, but if they can fix the rattle in the suspension. It is not becoming of a $50K Acura flagship car! I'd say this: always test drive car with radio off!

The Acura may not be able to out perform European competitors such as Jaguar, Mercedes, and BMW, but remember it is only a V6. The Acura is really in need of a V8 that can offer much more performance as its competitors. For a V6 though it outperforms many cars.

I moved from a 2000 A6 to the RL. The A6 may be a little tighter in handling but this is the best car I have ever owned in terms of value, handling, safety features, power, and above all the interior. The music system is like none I have ever heard. I think I may sleep in the seats and just listen to DVD-A's all night. Handling in the snow in New Hampshire was fabulous with the standard all season tires.

Advanced Technology is everywhere in this car. What a fun car to drive. I moved up from a 2002 RL, which I enjoyed driving. The '05 RL is a different beast. The Audio is top shelf. Bluetooth technology is great allowing handfree cell phone use. Ride is great with excellent handling features and power to spare. I like the SH-AWD feature with the 300 hp. Not a family sedan (due to limited leg room in rear) nor in the same class as the MB S, BMW 6/7, or Lexus LS. But nor is the price. You can save yourself $20 - 40 k over`those other cars. It's amazing Acura placed so much new technology into the new RL with such a modest price increase over the 'old' RL.

Picked up my RL 2 weeks ago... first impressions - the SH 4WD is the real deal. I just came out of a C5 after 6 years of ownership.. this RL handles incredibly on the curves at high speeds. The build quality is superb. I've had 2 legend coupes in the 90's and an RL and this one is by far the best quality Acura has ever produced. The best combination of power, fun 4-wheel drive, super dependability, style and great dealer support. Seats are terrific and the car is as quiet as any Lexus I've ever been in - but this car doesn't isolate the driver - the steering gives you great feedback while being both quick and light. The stereo is THE BEST OEM UNIT I'VE EVER HEARD in a car.

But tight handling comes at a price: a rough, choppy ride, disappointing for Acura's flagship car. Electronics including GPS navigation, superb Bose sound system with fully integrated satellite radio, are grand. Has a disconcerting rattle in potholes.

Not only does the Acura RL do what I expected but it exceeds my expectations in just about every catagory. It accelerates faster, corners better, is more striking inside and out than I ever imagined. With all these pluses, after putting in synthetic oil, I now get nearly 28 mpg highway. Not bad for a car that goes from 0-60 in 6 seconds. Also, just wait until you get to Dallas/Ft Worth or one of 20 or so more covered metro areas and the nav system interacts with XM radio to reroute you around bottlenecks on the major highways. Out of sight!!!!!

My 4th Acura, and by far the best

I bought the RL one month ago after doing some research on the new GS300 AWD, the M35 AWD, and having test driven for extended times the A8, E500 4-matic, etc. I must say that the performance times in the Edmunds review could be misleading. In a month, I've noticed the engine start to "free up." Owned 7 Acura/Hondas, and every one starts out really tight. My acceleration seems to improve every day. The handling-cornering is incredible. The SH-AWD system actually allows the car to overstear slightly right a RWD car, although not nearly as pronounced when you get on the gas. I could not imagine considering any other luxury AWD car. I traded by 04 TL for this car-and the RL is far superior

I've been driving my '05 RL just over a month now, and am totally pleased with everything about it. My family feels safe and secure in it, and it's been the car to drive here in So. Cal. during our wet, rainy winter. It is by far the best car I've ever driven at night, because of the excellent headlights and overall handling. It's very quick, so I really have to watch my speed to keep it legal. The interior is quiet, luxurious, and supremely comfortable, and the Bose audio is awesome. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a long-term relationship with a world class machine. If you're an enthusiast, this is your car. I can't wait to drive it again today.

The NEW RL 3.5 is a HUGE move in the right direction for Honda's premium line. When considering an E-350 M/B4-Matic, or the BMW-530, the RLs build and content wins, hands down. This car was a BEAR in the 10" snow we had in January. Who needs a 'gasguzzling' SUV, when you can have this much performance and luxury for around 50 large. Sure it doesn't have the cachet that its German rivals have, but then again it doesn't have their "problems" either! For me, it's not ALL about 'bang for thebuck', it's about performance, quality, and luxury. To my mind the 05 RL 3.5 has it all. Did I mention "Japanese Build Quality" ??

I am a car buff and an Audi junkie. My last 7 cars have been Audi A6's or it's equivalent (i.e. 100, 5000). When I decided to buy the RL I was hoping I would not suffer Audi separation distress. No problem. The RL is a joy to drive. It is geared so well, I never use the auto stick which I used 100% of the time when driving the A6. The radio is the best I have ever heard in an automobile. The ride is a perfect blend between sporty responsiveness and comfort. Steering is awesome with good feedback from the road and great on-center control. Seating is extremely comfortable. I am a Realtor and the NAV system is the best I have ever used. The all wheel drive is the best out there.

So far I'm satisfied. It does what I expected. (My third Acura) However I am a little concerned/puzzled about the "throttle by wire" feature. I don't know if it's a characteristic of the system, or there is a fuel injection problem. When I nudge the accelerator the vehicle hesitates, almost as if one snubed the brake, before it moves forward. I'd appreciate reading about others' experience in this regard.

Overall this car is an excellent upgrade to the old dog RL. The all wheel drive is spectacular! We just got a foot of snow in NE PA and this car went through drifts like an SUV. The stability control makes winter driving less worrisome! The 300 hp is not the aggressive hp you will find in sports cars, however, it will acceletare you off the stop light well ahead if it's competitors. At highway speeds, the 300 hp is at its best. Just push the throttle and you are doing 90 MPH before you know it. The interior has all of the technological equipment needed to keep you ammused. The nav system and audio controls are very easy to use and feel natural.

I purchased a new 2005 TL (6 spd) in November to replace a '98 BMW 528 (5sp) (that had reached 125,000 miles with repair bills to match). The TL turned out too small with too much front wheel torque steer; thus, the new RL in December. Very impressed with fit and finish. Overall performance is just fine (I do a lot a higher speed open road driving); the handling is much better with none of the TL's torque steer. I spend about 3 hrs per day in the car. Only problem in first 1,000 miles is a non-performing CD player, and that's about to be repaired. The rest of the audio system is great. The mileage is less than I would like; about 5 mpg less than the old BMW.

For over a year I've been evaluating luxury sedans. I've driven them all with the exception of the Infiniti M - personal distaste. I found that the RL's combo of aesthetics, features, reliability (yet unproved, but it's a Honda)and performance left the competition (530, E, new A6, GS) far, far behind. The throttle response is superior to that of any of those mentioned, and though I really liked the ride of the 530 w/ sport package, the RL's is very competitive. The interior is as plush and finished as the E, GS and A6, but better conceived than all. I didn't like the 5's inside. It's much more handsome in person than in any of the PR pics. 10 of 11 most unreliable cars are Euro.

This is one unbelievable automobile. It is probably one of the most technologically advanced vehicles out there! However, I expected much better acceleration for a 300hp car!! My cousin's TL feels much faster. Handling is also a couple notches below the German vehicles, but overall very good. Ride and comfort are great and it is very quiet, though not as quiet as my friend's LS 430. Seats are ultra comfy, and interior materials are first class!

My 2005 RL came with diagnostic codes indicating problems with the AWD and emission systems. The dealership just deleted the codes and explained that it was just "temporary codes" for other issues. This is hardly assuring, and further inquiries to the sales person/his service manager are being ignored. No one should be expected to have to worry about a $50K+ car. To be fair, the car is fun to drive, and my rating is "temporary" in nature until I get to the bottom of what it really means to have these diagnostic codes. If there were real problems with my car that were ignored by the dealership before handing the car over to me, I expect the dealership and Acura to make it right.

We own only four-wheel-drive vehicles ('95 Jeep, '00 Passat, '04 Tahoe). By far, this is the best 4/AWD vehicle we have owned, but... in automatic mode, the car tends to stay in first gear a bit too long. The car does not drive like a front-wheel-drive vehicle but I have noticed a small amount of front and slide when I make a hard turn from a standstill on wet pavement. My Passat did not. The interior layout is very sensible for the basic features but it takes several hours to figure out all of the intricacies and take full advantage of the technology on board. Without the monstrously large Britax child seats in the rear seats, we could easily fit five. With them, only 4/small 5th.

This car is a great value for the money. This car has the best paint job around (body is hand sanded before paint). The acceleration of 6.7 seconds to 60 is fine for day to day driving. Brakes are good but a bit "grabby" when nearing to a complete stop. Tech features such as navigation, XM Radio, Voice Control, etc. are awesome! The RL has to have one of the best factory sounds systems on the road-especially when playing DVD- A in 5.1 channel surround. Interior ergonomics are excellent overall. This car just fits in every way. The steering wheel mounted shift paddles are too slow for me however. I added the color coded mud flaps and spoiler. To top it off, AWD and 5 star safey rating.

I can't understand why the radio can't display the CD (especially a DVD-A) info with song names, etc. And the FM RDS which is pretty standard nowadays is also missing....hmmmm? Oh, and why the heck did Acura change the lug and hub pattern of this car so that I can't get any aftermarket rims until the wheel manufacturers catch up to the new layout.... But, overall, I love the car. I guess nothing is perfect.

Fit and finish on par with MB and Lexus if not better. Navigation feature the best I have ever seen and even got me out of a traffic circle. This is a very well designed car. SH-AWD is awesome, I can take corners @ 50MPH and the tires don't even squeak! The interior design is the reason I got the car. I really want a NAV, my previous car had one (driving in Boston without a NAV has a large impact on the stress level). The NAV in the RL is the best in the market. It is simple to operate, very informative and the voice command is actually usable and in some cases better than hand input.

Feels like a frontwheel drive vehicle; out of touch-cannot tell when the vehicle is at the limits. The weight distribution is biased toward the front, exacerbating the front wheel drive feeling. I am quite disappointed with the lack of co-ordination between Acura, the cell phone manfuctures and service providers. I love nearly everything about this car. It's fun to drive and very comfortable on long drives. After a minor, but scary accident with my 99 RL (I spun out on a wet curve), I feel much safer with the SH-AWD. Even on dry curves, I can feel the difference in handling as the outside rear wheel kicks in extra power. The stereo and XM radio are awesome. In fact, the XM is so great I'm not sure I'll ever listen to CDs again in the car. The seat support is great - you're really held tight as you fly around curves (though some stockier people might find them too confining). Even though I fell in love with the styling the first time I saw it in person, it's not that exciting - I still love it!

First of all, this is the third Acura I have purchased in three years. I love the overall value for your dollar that Acura offers in their vehicles, so this may sound more than a bit biased. My first Acura, now my Wife's, is a 2002 TL S-type. My second Acura, which I traded in for the 2005 RL, was a 2004 RL. So my review starts with the observation that the 2005 RL is the combination of everything that is great about my other Acura vehicles. They have combined the sportiness and responsiveness of the TL S-type with the comfort and stability of the old RL, and then applied a liberal dose of steroids. It is hands down the best, most fun to drive, technology packed, car I have ever driven

I've been waiting for this car for months. All the gadgets in the car work well. Fit and finish is excellent. With all the anticipation, I really want to love the car. I am pretty conservative, so the somewhat bland styling is okay with me. My friend thought I got the new Accord! The driving performance is big improvement over my older Acura. However, my car is in the shop right now getting the SH-AWD system worked on. All the warning lights lits up during the first week I had it. The rear tires felt very jerky. Let's hope it's an isolated incident and that they get it repaired. The TSX loaner is not even close.

Short, but oh so sweet...

I have had the RL for almost a month and the car is amazing, so many features and the ride is wonderful. The XM Radion/Nav, Bluetooth, Voice activated navigation, all are amazing, the ride comfort and quality are second to none. The car is smooth, strong, athletic and luxurious, the versatility is amazing especially with SH-AWD. I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

Great Car

After owning an A6-2.7T for the past three years, I can say that the RL has surpasses the A6 in virtually every category. I was prepared to buy a new A6, but after comparing the luxury features of both, I went with the RL and haven't regretted it for a minute. (honestly I also had a tough time with the big nose on the Audi).

Good alternative to Lexus

My other car is a 2004 Lexus LS430 which I like so much I thought of buying a second, until I drove the RL. RL is a little nicer inside (design), sportier (handles much better), and a little more high tech feeling. The Lexus is quieter (despite the active sound dampening) and quicker and more responsive below 3500 rpm (320 ft/lbs). The Acura feels much stronger in the 4500-6500 range and the engine really likes to rev (unlike the Lexus V8 that loves to high idle around town). Even stepping out of the smoothest quietest car on the road (the LS 430), the RL feels very smooth, slick, quiet & sporty all at the same time. For $49K, it is also a steal!

I have found the new RL to be a pleasure to drive. The technology is outstanding, with Voice Control that is superb. You can control the Nav system, Climate Control system, Radio, Information screens and Bluetooth enabled phones WITHOUT removing your hands from the steering wheel or your eyes from the road. The interior is well laid out. Controls are located logically, where you expect them to be. The halogen headlights with the adaptive front lighting system and fog lights produce excellent night visibility. No more fumbling with a remote, since the Keyless Access System does all the work for you. I do a fare amount of driving and enjoy every minute of it behind the wheel of my RL.

so far so good

very happy with my purchase. this is a solid, super-handling vehicle. i test drove bimmers, audis, and have a c- class. This car is better than those vehicles. And the telematics are just a bonus. Looking forward to getting the AWD in the snow.

It's the real deal! From the user friendly interior controls to the tech- gadgets, it is first class. The car is very responsive and handles extremely well. I have been pleasantly surprised by the large number of people who have complimented favorably on the appearance of the RL. I thought that the car was attractive, but I did not expect total strangers to tell me it looks fantastic. If you are looking for luxury, but want the feel and ride of a sports car, the RL will do the trick.

The RL epitomizes automotive excellence! Silky, solid and smooth best describes it. The handling is incredible as demonstrated by its agility and immediate responsiveness. The ergonomics are text book perfect as evidenced by the size and placement of the Nav system screen and center stack controls. Quality materials abound, nice touches such as electric rear and manual side window shades impress. Voice activated controls actually work and seem magical. It's performance/power is strong! It is without question, IMO, the - "best in class". I have no regrets or buyers remorse. It exudes luxury and elegance - it just feels so good! Highly recommended!

It has set a new standard for Luxury. When you look at the price of any of the cars in its class and the price tag that goes along with them, why spend more when everything is standard in the RL and it has so many more amazing features like the Real time traffic, DVD Audio, Active Front Lighting system and especially Super Handlind Rear Wheel drive..nothing else touches it! There is so much value here, and talk about fun to drive!

Thumbs up (pretty much)

If you are looking for a 50,000 car that won't turn heads, the new RL is for you. even in the dealers lot you'll have a hard time telling the Rl from acura's lineup. Get inside though and the fun begins, actually even before I got into the car the keyless entry thing is way cool (no more fumbling for keys). the interior design is very sensible and pleasing to the eye, the nav is great (i'm coming from a 01 mdx) and this rl nav blows it away. The power and confidence of this machine is awesome, pull away from a traffic light and watch people on the side shaking their head asking each other "what was that". my only problem is finding a comfortable position,(coming from a suv)

This RL rocks!

If you're technically challenged, this is not the car for you. But if you love technology and use it, you're gonna love the voice activated technological advances this car offers. By voice one can control the gps system, bluetooth phone, temperature control, audio control and OnStar. Once you figure out how to work everything you never need take your hands from the wheel or your eyes from the road. It corners like the BMW I test drove - maybe better. I think I'm in love!

This is the third RL/Legend I have owned from new. I owned my previous RL for 7 years and didn't even replace a lightbulb; my previous Legend had a similar track record. If you are looking for a European style, throw you back in your seat acceleration along with significant tail pipe effect, this car isn't for you - it is silky smooth and it out performs my wife's 2004 Volvo T5 Wagon automatic (barely) - you just don't know it until you look at the speedo and realize the scenery is moving by very quickly, thank you. Quiet! When you push it the unique all wheel drive that transfers torque from left to right almost feels like you are being sucked around a corner. Great ride! Enjoy.

Quiet, smooth-running car with sufficient power. I drove it up a narrow, twisting, dirt road to the summit of a 1,750 ft. mountain (Mt. Riga, Salisbury, CT). Traction and stability were outstanding - even on the steepest grades. Highly recommended!

Wow, what a car this is. Acura nailed the midize luxury sedan market on the head. Exterior is nicely sculpted, especially the mid and rear quarters-- the front is classic Honda. The interior materials are solid and of high quality. Ergonomics and comfort are great. A tremendously vast computer system is programmed EASILY thanks to smart design. The ride is solid, pickup and power to pass and just plain feel acceleration are great. Reliability is unknown yet as its so new but given HONDA/ACURA reliability, it should be first rate!

This is nothing short of a dream car—a dream car that you can buy. It's performance is well above the comparable V6 Mercedes, Audi, and BMW competition and it exudes quality all around. The interior is spectacular and the exterior draws looks and questions from strangers everywhere I go. No one builds cars better than Acura these days, at least not for this kind of money. Thrilled with my purchase!

This car is like the all-around winner in Olympic gymnastics: it isn't the best in any give category (BWM: slightly more nimble, perhaps; Lexus: More plush; MB: more brawny), but it's the all-around winner in that it does doesn't nothing wrong, and almost every as right as any other car in its class. The fact that it's less than comparably equipped cars speaks to its value. There can be no buyer's remorse with this car.
