I purchased this in 2013 - one owner car who traded it in at the Lexus Dealership. I bought it with 78,000 miles on it and now has 163,000 miles - The paint is perfect, with some fading only on the rear bumper. A highly reliable car, runs smooth, comfortable, and gets up to 26mpg on the highway and about 20mpg around town. - Solid / I added Bluetooth (Parrot) and have put Michelin tires on it (they are the best for both ride comfort and low noise) - I do expect to get 300K - runs as good now with 163K as it did with 78K. Great car - highly recommend it.

Fantastic!!

I'm a 17 year old who bought a '04 ES330 after I wrecked my original car ('05 Accord Hybrid). This car is absolutely amazing, I am a petrol head who loves cars and this car is my favorite of the five I've driven. My Honda was good but this car handles so much better and is so quiet on the road sometimes you forget you are even driving. As a young kid obviously I would like it to be a bit faster and better on acceleration but yet i've never had a problem merging on the highway or getting out of my neighborhood. This car has surpassed all expectations that I had for it as I bought it with 155k miles, it hasn't had any problems besides the normal maintenance (oil change, brake pads etc). I would recommend this car to any parent or teenager who is looking for their first car, it's reliable and when it needs to be: quick. Overall a great car and an excellent cruiser I love taking road-trips with it and you will too.

We bought the ES330 used, with about 50,000mi. We have since put 321,000 MILES ON IT and it runs like a champ. Trans is just starting to pick up quirks, and we need new rear struts. We have replaced the A/C compressor and 2 alternators, as well as normal brake and oil changes- THAT'S IT. We live in the woods in Florida and our dirt road is punishing, but the car has held up staggeringly well. It's still VERY smooth, comfortable and quiet when cruising at 85mph. Will post again when we reach 400,000mi!

During my ownership I have not had a single issue with the car despite purchase with 206,000 previous miles... I've driven 40-50k miles on it each year for the past 3 years. It has never been in the shop for anything other than oil changes every 3,000 miles, timing belts, brakes, fluids, etc. Engine pulls very strongly and the transmission is smooth. If you take care of these cars, they will take excellent care of you. Car is quiet and well composed. Sitting inside the car one cannot hear the engine unless you floor it, then a confident growl will emit from the hood under hard acceleration. What leaves my head spinning is the structural solidity and safety of this car. Thursday evening I was (HIT AND RUN) struck by a semi who switched lanes and failed to see me. The force of the impact slammed me off the highway and authorities estimate my car rolled a dozen times. My sunroof was open and my phone and wallet flew out during the rollover. The side curtain airbags deployed as expected and created a safety blanket that shielded me from glass and road debris. the EMT's arrived and found me with not a single scratch. They were absolutely shocked that I walked away unharmed. Of course the car was a total loss and my insurance company called me the next day and offered me just south of 7,000 towards another vehicle. I was crying as it was towed not only because my car fought so valiantly to protect me, but because of the bond I've formed with - a machine

GREAT car. Had a 98 Camry (272K) which was flawless but started to rust. Always loved the looks and quality of Lexus and when I picked up my ES 330 and drove it home (3 hours) is was the quietest ride I’ve ever been in-even @ 100 mph : ) Stereo is great (musician w/ VERY picky ear when it comes to audio). 4 door speakers-2 front tweeters-8”stock woofer do the trick. Added my aftermarket 400W amp and 10” kick that added NOTHING to the quality. Only had 60K (7,500/year) so it’s like new as most Lexus owners baby their babies! Click in the steering wheel (steering shaft-$800) but that is it. Have been asked if it's new many times. Don’t think I’ll ever buy anything but Lexus from now on!

Great Car!

I was looking to buy a car and mentioned I was shopping to my parents. They had this 2004 ES330 that was sitting in the garage and asked me if I wanted to buy it from them. I know they took it in for every servicing, it's never been beaten on and always spotless. The price they offered me for it was too good to pass up. So, I am now the proud owner of a silver ES330. I've been a BMW driver over the last 10yrs. (E36-M3, E46-M3, couple of 325i's - xi and is, 328i, 745i and even a '76 - 2002!) but i have to say that the only thing i dislike about my ES is the soft suspension. it's super quiet, decent power and looks great. i'm sold on the brand and will prob buy another one next time!

Bought this car in March 2009 after it came off of a 4yr lease. I was hesitant to buy a car over 4yrs old w/ 40k miles. I took it to my family mechanic for a complete inspection before buying. He said "only needs new brake pads and oil change." It’s very comfortable inside and rides smoothly. This car has been driven about a dozen times btwn FL-GA (450 miles each way) and we recently drove to NYC (2k r/t). The car rode great, gas mileage averaged about 25-28 on highway. I have never felt more safe in a car. I'll never buy anything but a Toyota or Lexus again!

I am the original owner of a 2004 ES330 Lexus sedan. I am considering replacing the car with very mixed emotions. I love my Lexus. What a deal on this vehicle! At the time of purchase I got a fair purchase price, but when I think about the quality and reliability I have been fortunate to experience I have no complaints. I may choose to pass this quality vehicle on to my son who will soon graduate from college. What a lucky young man he will be!

Our friends said we overpaid for a "fancy Camry". Now we are laughing because this car is as good as new. They all have had to trade for new cars and can't believe our Lexus runs and looks so good after four years. Not one mechanical problem, great highway mileage and the navi/Levinson setup ROCK.

Owned a sporty Honda with a lot of zip. Also have a Corvette, but nothing compares to the ride and feel of the Lexus. We bought a Camry and sold it to a family member after they totaled their car. We wanted a comfortable ride and family car. Our 2004 Lexus is a luxurious treat and we love it. I'll drive the wheels off this car.

We purchased this car used. It gets an average 29 MPG (street and highway combined), has plenty of power, interior leg room, great looks and it's easy to do oil changes. The trunk mouth is smaller than I would like but so far it hasn't been a problem. Also, the trunk can only be opened from the interior or via a button on the key. There is no key lock on the exterior. On cold days the seat heater is a plus. There's a multi CD player and a cassette player. This car handles extremely well at any speed and has not been in for any major repair. The drive is very smooth and quiet and feels very sturdy. The biggest surprise has been the gas mileage. I am very impressed with this car.

This car is the total package: Class, comfort, performance, amenities. Every time I walk to the car, I think to myself, "That is a good looking car." Have had numerous compliments on it as well. The car has plenty of power and the acceleration will get you out of alot of traffic situations. On a recent 600 mile trip, I averaged 30 MPG at 74 MPH. In mixed city/highway I get 22 MPG. With gas prices as high as they are, I am ecstatic about this. No matter how long I drive, I do not get cramped or tired. The car is very comfortable, extremely quiet and just a joy to drive. The stereo system "rocks" and is like having a concert in your car. All in all, one of the best cars on the road. Buy it

There are a few annoying features about this vehicle. Little things like the driver's side floor mat will not stay in place - the hook and grommet system just doesn't work. No. 2 is the turn signal that won't cancel, particularly when coming off a ramp in a sweeping curve, after going straight ahead the right signal doesn't cancel. Lexus service says they work fine! Last, and probably most important, the glare off the dash when driving into the sun makes it very difficult, if not impossible, to see anyone or thing at the roadside - polarized sunglasses help a bit. Other than theses issues, it's a great car.

I've purchased lower end Japanese built sedans in the past. I thought this was an upgrade. I couldn't have been more wrong. The transmission hesitates and it is normal I was told. Possibly because of this it has fair acceleration off the line. It has the most uncomfortable driver's seat I've ever sat on. It's very hard. I have not experienced near the same discomfort with other cars I've driven including rental cars from low small to large ones. This purchase has taught me a lesson, that a higher end brand does not come close to guarantee driving enjoyment. It has been the exact opposite.

Purchased used with 17k mi. Transmission hesitated some at first, but now resolved with use of premium gas and transmission apparently "learning" how I drive, as Lexus states. It is an exemplary automobile in every way, except for excessive road noise. This surprised me, as I expected a much quieter ride. It is especially annoying at highway speeds on the interstate. However, I am hoping it is due to the original equipment "summer tires," and will decrease to a more tolerable level when these are replaced by all-season radials.

When I purchased this car in 04 I was looking at Mercedes Benz E class. Buying the Lexus I stepped up in build quality, comfort, reliability and performance, plus I kept $25,000 in my pocket! My ES 330 is the best car I've ever owned. It's incredibly spacious and comfortable, and stylish. The wood trim is the best I've ever seen, I can drive for 10 hours without getting at all uncomfortable, and there's plenty of room to stretch out on long trips. The engine has plenty of power and gets very, very good gas mileage. The ride is super smooth and quiet, even on the freeway. I do all the maintenance and I haven't had a single problem with it. I leased a 2002 ES 300 for 2 years and loved it so much that I traded it in and bought this new one. I would highly recommend ES 330s to anyone; Lexus has truly succeeded in its "passionate pursuit of perfection".

I have had other luxury cars and I rate the ES330 better than all of them. The ride is smooth and quiet, power is very adequate for highway and city driving. The seats are very comfortable and sound system is excellent. I can drive five or six hundred miles and do not get overly tired. The only problem that I have had is the transmission hesitating a few times when accelerating. After 21000 miles the car still drives like new. I plan to purchase another one in the future.

Car is beautiful inside and out. However, at 10,000 miles it started smelling like rotten eggs. Lexus says just a product of gas in Oregon; however, not all ES 330's smell which is a mystery, says the dealership. Lexus customer service just says, tough luck. Very frustrated. Dealership hands are tied by Lexus who says they cannot change any parts to try to correct problem if vehicle is running to specs.

Everything is well thought out. No problems with most features. Would have preferred audio and climate controls on steering wheel(Noticed that they have done this on the 2005 model). Navigation system has some minor glitches, but over all performs in an adequate manner. Changed tires from Summer to "All Weather. Didn't feel comfortable going on a long trip with seasonal tires. I feel safe in this car and I also feel that due to the superior braking ability that this car had saved my life. The fuel economy is great considering the weight of the car. The car is also very quiet and solid with no loose parts that rattle when driving. I also love my rear sun shade that keeps the sun glare out of my car when sunny it also keeps my car cool on hot days.

This is a very smooth, quiet car. The performance is good for a car that is just billed as a luxury sedan. The fuel economy is great: 17/29 actual mpg. After 9,000 miles, I have no complaints about the quality of the car. My wife had a flat tire in the rain 900 miles from home. She called the 1- 800 roadside service. A local dealership called within 10 minutes and was there in 20 minutes. The driver called twice in route to assure her he was on the way. We received a follow-up phone call and a customer satisfaction survey.

This cars transmission hesitates very badly when accelerating off the line. I have used premium fuel. This does not help at all. Lexus will not fix it. Please read all the other consumer complaints in these reviews. Time for a class-action lawsuit. I love the rest of the car but this transmission problem is ruining my enjoyment of driving my new car.

The ES330 has a plush ride, is very quiet and has a nice looking interior. However, the transmission shifts very roughly. Also, many exhibit a 'hesitation' that makes the car feel like an old car with a dirty carburetor that bogs down when trying to accelerate. It does not happen to every car but tends to get worse with time if your car is one of the unlucky ones. The service people at two dealerships admitted to the problem but said there is no fix and that this has been a issue since the 2002 models. They believe it may be a computer software problem. Lexus does not admit they have a problem and offer no fix. Ultimately, I got rid of my ES330 after 4 months. Stay away from Lexus.

We bought this car in March 2004. As far as the fit and finish the car is very nice, the ride is ok with the junk Bridgestone tires but that can be changed. The acceleration of this car is terrible, and our previous Toyota Solara with a smaller motor would run away from this Lexus. It has a very bad case of dead pedal, and the transmission flat out sucks. With 10,000 miles on the clock already, I don't think that the gas mileage is going to get any better, either. I didn't know about the problems until tonight when my wife pointed them out to me. But I will be at the Lexus dealer this week, and as far as I am concerned they will make it run right or they can keep the junk until they do.

I've sent 3 letters to HQ and they tell me the car is operating as designed (without even talking to the mechanics or my dealershi, Hmmm!!). City gas mileage is BAD also, about 15-17. I've written Lexus Customer (NON) Satisfaction 3 times--they've called me back twice only to tell me the transmission is "operating as designed". Funny they would say that automatically without driving the car. Service writers and salespeople at the dealership know there's a problem and say there is no fix. SM told me that Lexus said to use premium gas and it may help--so they KNOW there's a problem. I've counted 21 complaints on this site. Is anyone working a Class Action, or had any luck getting some compensation in the way of a buy-back? Please e-mail me your experiences and the actions you've taken and maybe we can get something done. JGawry@aol.com

The car has been good by all acounts except the transmission. It hesitates, slips into 4th and has a "jerk" to it at low speeds. I have had it in the shop on 3 different occasions and have been told the dealer can do no more. There are several customers with the same problem as I found out when I went to the NHTSA web site. This is a software problem with this car and the RX330, please do more investigating than I did.

I don't think the new design is as sharp as the old version 300 but when you sit down in this car you know its a quaility automobile. Don't think I agree with the decisssion to change the body style in 2003 and in 04 change the version from 300 to 330. I would expect Lexus to have changed the number when the body style was change,

Like others, I have noticed transmission issues. Stopping at a stop sign and immediately starting again confuse the tranny. I have not had problems elsewhere. Freeway driving, merging, acceleration to get out of a jam...all excellent. No pull to the left issues w/mine. Drive the one you're going to buy. The interior is beautiful, comfy and convenient. The CD changer in the center console limits storage capacity. For the HP, the car is not responsive from 0, but, handles driving at speed nicely. I also like the Comfort vs. Sport suspension adjustment - it provides a noticeable difference in ride and handling. Beautiful car-should perform better.

The steering wheel is so comfortable with its wood and leather inserts. It is a great looking car that lives up to the reputation of Lexus. I must say my dealer (Lexus of New Haven) has also been wonderful. Service is reliable and you are treated courteously. My husband drives a LS400 from them and we would not hesitate to purchase from them again. If you are considering a Lexus....go drive the ES330...you'll be hooked.

I've had my ES330 for 10 months. BAD= 1) Had many troubles with Countyline Lexus and would NOT recommend them. I am now using JM for maintenance. 2) Transmission problems (with acceleration) since purchase. Both dealers claim that I was the only person that had reported the problem (from these reviews, I see that this is a lie) and they could not duplicate or solve the problem. It has been getting worse. Now the car jerks with normal low speed cruising. 3) Leather on the seats seems cheap; rough and not supple. My Volvo's leather is much nicer. Good= 1) Nice interior luxuries (except leather). 2) Nice to drive when you get past the transmission problems. 3) Good mileage.

After owning a 2002 es300 this 2004 has several outstanding improvements. The mileage, power, comfort, stereo, seats, handling, and general overall design has been GREATLY improved. The 2002 es300 was a great car and we had over 23,000 miles on it, but the opportunity became available to upgrade to the 2004 and it was a very pleasent surprise! The color, interior and accessories, are all identical to the 2002, but it has so many little improvements, that this was definitely the right thing to do. Service at the dealers has been exceptional.

This car has a definite problem that Lexus is well aware of. The problem is Lexus does not have a solution to the problem so they say the car was designed to drive this way. Every person that I have spoken to at any Lexus dealership and into management has told me the same thing. The ES 330 has a transmission problem big time, it slips and shifts very rough...no way to correct the problem. Lexus stands for Luxury export US....there is no luxury in whiplash...thats the effect of the transmission shifting!!!!!

I've had my ES 330 for one month. This is my first Lexus and everything that I have heard, read and seen regarding this vehicle, it is living up to my expectations. I got the Sport Design version with gray interior and graphite exterior with custom rims. After I knew that the ES 330 was going to be my next car and was picking out the color, I saw this model and that sealed the deal. With the extra tinting on the windows (Arizona is brutal) this is a sharp looking car. I was actually on my way to test drive an Infinity G35 when I stopped in to see the ES 330. I had to call the Infinity salesperson half way through the paperwork to cancel the appointment.

After driving a '95 ES 300 for 115,000 miles & 7 years this car is a MAJOR disappointment! Severe hesitation & rough shifting at times, acceleration from a stop is jerky, POOR mpg and overall sluggish. The dealer told me 1) they've had a lot of complaints about the ES330 2)it's a computer problem & 3) there is "NO FIX" for the problems! Very nice car except for transmission shifting characteristics at low speed acceleration and deceleration. Lexus needs to hire some new engine/throttle control/transmission integration engineers. Very anoying waiting for transmission to shift gears.

The car is fun to drive, extemely quiet and very comfortable for long trips. I have put over 20,000 miles on mine since Dec. 1 and enjoyed every mile. Service has been outstanding. I was blasted by a sanding truck over the winter and when I went in for service they offered to repaint the front end at thier expense... I guesss thats one reason to buy a luxury car!

Owning this vehicle for about a year now, it has proven to be one of the most inteligently designed vehicles which I have driven in. The ES competition can include the 525, I30, and E320. While each of these other vehicles have a variety of options which set them apart, the simple reliability of the ES, along with its handling, acceleration and fuel economy (24mpg - in reality) give it an edge when matched up with the available DVD NAV and Mark Levinson sound system. This is definitly my favorite of the executive sedans.

I came to this site today to see if I was nuts, or this tranny stinks. Lex says,"Operating as Designed". I say if not dangerous, RIDICULOUS. The additional power added this year was nice, but makes it worse. I will not ruin my wife's dream world by bashing her car to her, but I drive us around on the weekend, and it feels BROKEN until I get it to the freeway and CRUISE ... That is its' charm. Thanks for confirming my aggrevations people!

Our ES330 is our second Lexus. But the transmission in the ES330 is rougher than a stick shift. It lurches, pauses, hammer-upshifts, and hunts for gears. These shifting patterns could produce unsafe conditions and loss of control on slippery roads. Lexus needs to fix! But they deny the problem. I was told by Meade Lexus service that the 2003 transmission software correction helped, but that the softwear update for the 2004 actualls makes conditions worse. Anyone interested in a class- action suit can have some of my $ and time to pursue.

Just got my 2nd Lexus 2 weeks ago! Lease due in Dec.2004 but Lexus wants to keep their happy customer offered me a 6 mo. payment waiver program. Basically I drop off my 42 mo. old RX300 and bought a new ES330 without any hassle. I picked the SportDesign Special Edition which has a sportier looking wheel and Black-eye Maple wood trim and smoky black finish in the back, GPS and ML is the best in the market, rear sun shade is cool. The ride is quieter than my RX300 (SUV) and the engine runs silkily smooth. I already have over 500 miles on my new baby.

I drive about 100 hundred miles a day and find the drivers seat the most uncomfortable and painful. The front of the seat is mounted ~2" higher in the front which positions all the weight on your thighs. I've tried all the adjustments the seat will allow with no relieve. I spoke to the service manager about my problem his only comment was "ya that seat sucks!". Don't get me wrong all the acculades given this car are well earned and if you only drive around town 10 to 12 thousand miles a year you will probably never notice the discomfort.

I agree the ES does not offer GT sedan performance. Kick in another $30K, if that's what you want and get the 430. I do not feel that the power or the transmission cause any safety problems. You can lock in a lower gear ratio, if the situation calls for it and the engine will give you what you need. I don't care about Porche, G35 Coupe, GT Sedan performance any more. That's why I bought the ES. If you don't care to have high performance handling and throttle/transmission response and if you do want a quiet comfortable ride with very nice interior appointments, excellent sound system and plenty of luxury features, this car is a great buy.

The 5speed automatic suffers from hestitation and lack of smoothness and feel when shifting from 1st to 2nd, and 2-3rd. The hesitation and then surge of power is not only unpleasant, but can be unsafe. Lexus has been aware of this problem on ES300 and ES330 for 3years and has no fix. Warning: check discussion groups online for information before buying!

I wished I had more time to shop around before buying this car. Like many reviews posted here, I found the transmission sluggish which makes me feel dangerous when merging into traffic. Car rides nicely. Big problem with hesitation when you get off the gas then on again or come to a stop and try to go immediately thereafter ( 1 to 1 and 1/2 second delay). If you get off the gas under hard acceleration and back on the gas the transmission gets confused. pulls to left slightly. With regards to hesitation, Lexus says the car is "functioning as designed". They have no plans to fix it at all. If you leave your key in ignition and headlights are on, the lights won't shut off automatically if you accidently do not shut your door tightly.(I already gat 1 dead battery for this reason. I'm going back to Audi. (They care about their customers).

One of the best ways to judge a car is to ask, "Would I buy this car again?". Well, after diving my 1994 Lexus ES300 for nine years I bought a 2003 model. There were phenomenal advancements that made the car even better. There are faster cars, sportier cars, fancier cars but you won't get a better value anywhere. The next car I buy, whenever that may be, will be a Lexus.

Try it, You'll like it.

Just traded to the ES330 from a world famous, overpriced European big black box. Old vehicle was not at all user friendly. Service also wasn't as "sales" sold it. I'm glad I changed. The Lexus is just plain fun to drive. So quiet you think the car has stalled when you stop at a light. It "IS" user friendly too. Accessories are where you expect them to be. Not try and find me. No more CD's in the trunk. Service with the Lexus is better than I expected. To date everything has been good. I'd do it again without hesitation.

The Acura dealer made a huge mistake. I told him that I couldn't commit to the TL until I drove a Lexus ES. The ES is not just quite it is silent inside. The engine is almost to quite and road noise is muted to nonexistant. The ES is as smooth as silk. Transmission shift goes unnoticed as you accelerate and the car just flows through curves. It holds the road with very little lean in and good pull out of turns. The ES is a "soft" ride and not the fastest car when the light turns green but you will never be left behind, after all this is a Lexus.

The car is a driver's dream, comfortable, responsive and insulating. The premium sound system rocks! We had no need of the navigation system, so this vehicle has the standard premium upgrade. How much better the Mark Levinson system could be, I can't imagine. No complaints at all after the first road trip in this car. Wonder if my wife will mind taking over my Accord?

Great handling for non-sports car. Michelin energy's don't cut it; needs snow tires. Mileage dissapointing 19- 20MPG city/highway combined. GPS awsome and Mark Levinson stereo even better. Those who object audio controls on GPS screen are crazy; much better and easier than fiddling with dials located below line of sight. Get the xenons, which make a world of difference at night. Can't say enough positive about dealer. While there are better looking cars, faster cars and better handling cars, all within the same price range, I bought this car for the luxury, quality, service and value, and what the heck, my wife liked it and it is her car.

This car is smooth riding and comfortable, but the transmission is funky. If you accelerate quickly or slowly, it is fine. But, if you are in- between, or change your mind and let off the accelerator, the shifting gets confused and the transmission even slips occasionally. I would hope for a recall of some sort to fix this, once Lexus gets enough complaints.

Just bought ES330 and sold 96 Avalon. Disagree ES330=Camry comment. What I compared here is top equipped 96 Avalon vs. top equipped ES330. Here is something I didn’t expect: 1. accelerate from 0 to normal is not strong as expected, or even slower than my Avalon. 2. Related with 1, the gas mileage is much better than Avalon (33-35 in highway and 26 in city, is it a problem for the particular car or for a new car?). 3. The 4th generation Navigation System is impressive, it is the item you MUST have. It is not only an elegant GPS mapping and road information system, it also makes everything easy to control: Audio, Radio, CD, etc.

Drove the demo, fell in love, but wish now that I had test driven the actual car I purchased. Frequent hesitation then lurching occurs at first to second gear changes. Feels like the transmission is trying to figure out what to do. Didn't experience this in the demo. Took the car in to the shop. Believe the service department made some software tweaks. Now feels like the problem is worse. Gives me a very unsafe feeling when pulling out into traffic. Have scheduled another service visit. Lexus has been very responsive so far; hope they will come up with a solution. If not for the shifting problem, I would rate the vehicle an overall 9.0

While searching for a Luxury Sedan I looked at them all, It came down to the BMW 525i and the ES330. I loved the BMW exterior but the interior did not do too much for me, and the handling was a bit too "sporty" for my liking. I took one look inside the ES330 and it felt like a dream come true, The test drive was fabulous, the car was luxury all of the way, but still fun to drive. The cabin was so quiet, and comfortable. I cannot imagine owning another make of car in the future. I choose the Alabaster and loaded it up to the gills with all of the toys, including the Nav System.I have had it just over a week and already I am in love.

First the good things: This car has a superbly designed interior with real wood accents that is beautiful. It rides very smoothly, and is extremely quiet. The ML stereo and GPS navigation sytsem are incredible. However, this car is spoiled by a poorly shifting transmission. When punching the gas pedal, there's frequently a 1-1.5 second delay before the engine accelerates and the transmission engages. This unpredictability makes the car frustrating to drive in heavy traffic.

Looked at the new 5-series, Merc C and E class, Audi A6 and more. The ES330 offered an amazing combination of smooth ride, luxury, fuel economy, features, price, size and safety. If you like to 'drive' a car, forget Lexus. I bought the Z4 in favor of the sterile SC430. If you just want to motor in quiet luxury, Lexus probably has your car.

I bought my 2004 ES 330 in September and I love it. It's extremely quiet and sound proof (I have a hard time knowing when the engine is running),and handles the way I expect a luxury should. Everyone knows the pickup won't give you a rush, but it's plenty fast enough for me. If I wanted speed, I'd bought the GS or SC (if I could afford it). My car is smooth, good looking (black with the gold package), and comfortable as hell, with nearly all the bells and whistles available. My only bad surprise was the right-rear passenger power window stopped working. I brought the car to the dearlership, and they replaced the power window motor at no charge.

This vehicle is nice to look at for a four door, but is missing out on several qualities that would make it better. THe navigational system is not user friendly, and the hesitation when engaging the passing gear is something that makes me have no confidence that the car will get me out of a tight spot in traffic. I will go back to an Acura which is a very responsive car. The way the CD's need to be loaded into the console leave no room for anything. There is absolutely NO room in the car to put anything...ie: the ashtray is useless...too small. NO real cup holders.THis model desperately needs thumb controls for the stereo on the steering wheel.

In the Lexus 330 I found what I was looking for. A high quality, reliable car with 5 star safety features. I'm 6'1" and fit comfortably in both the front and back seats. The driver seat is well designed, and my back feels better just sitting in it. The interior reflects great attention to detail. The car accellerates smoothly and fully meets my handling expectations. While the exterior design may not turn other drivers heads, it is great value and comfort. It also gets good gas milage, and uses regular gas.

I find the car to be less quiet and comfortable than expected. There is too much interior noise and road noise for an entry level luxury car. The motor, though powerful enough for city and highway driving, seems to strain when accelerating. Some good points include the A/C and stereo systems and ample trunk and passenger room. Overall, I find the car very average.

Luxury at this price point is unbeatable. If you have a wife or if you have shorter legs, the $140 adjustable pedals are a must have. The variable suspension on the fly is great fun. Build quality is superb, and I've never owned a car so quiet. Front wheel drive handling isn't torquey, and the options, like NAV and Mark Levinson are well worth the price. External styling is sporty but refined. Inside the car you are enveloped by a luxury that no other competitor at this price point can touch. Lots of wow factor at a very reasonable price.

All the vehicle controls are at the drives fingertips and all the features are easy to operate. The sound system is outstanding. I don't have the Mark Levinson system but the "premium" system is quite sufficient for those who appreciate a quality sound system. The car is easy to drive and has an incredible turning ratio. And of course it has all the bells and whistles you would expect to find in a Lexus.

The comfortable ride, safety features and warranty helped us to choose the ES 330. We looked at the high end Toyota Avalon & found that we were just about on par price wise with the ES 330. So, we looked, we drove, we researched & we bought. The step up which included a more refined automobile & the 4yr/50K basic, 6yr/70K power train was well worth it. I look forward to many enjoyable years behind the wheel of my ES 330.

The interior design is beautifully done. Sitting in it, you felt you probably spent more than $50K although most likely you spent significantly less than $40K. The exterior design, though, is quite dull - almost indistinguishable from a Camery. The acceleration is significantly improved compared to the 3.0L version, but still significantly deficient compared to SAAB 9-5 or Lincoln LS V8, both are only slightly more expensive. It is a very comfortable and very quiet car to ride, although driving it for long distance can put you into sleep qucikly. The fuel economy though, is a bit disappointment: I registered about 20 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on highway.

My Lexus ES330 is the smoothest and quietest riding car I have ever owned. The design and comfort is extremely nice and others really like the car. My wife loves the dual front seat heaters that can be regulated separately. My biggest disappointment so far is in the miles per gallon. I drive highway miles and I'm only getting 22 MPG when the sticker said it would get between 20-28. Since I bot the car a few weeks ago I'm hoping that the MPG will get better as the car is broken in.

Finally, a mid-ranged luxury car. This car handles superbly. It is quiet, comfortable, fuel efficient and has all of the feeling of a luxury car. A big step up from the old Camry-turned-Lexus style of a few years ago.

For me, size of car is near perfect- roomy cabin without the bulk of luxury car land yachts. The ride is what I wanted - quiet, smooth, with a solid feel. Although not an excitement machine, power is ample and is delivered velvety smooth. Fit and finish are exemplary, and cabin styling is excellent.

By far the quietest vehicle I've ever owned. It's a womans car and the wife loves it, yet I enjoy driving it too. The 3.3L engine is very powerful yet silent, and there's no torque steer at all, which was a pleasant surprise.

The car pulls to left and can not be repaired. I was told some cars got this way from having its suspention tied down during shipment. It's nothing a couple thousand miles wouldn't fix and the body will adjust itself. They're now insisting it's fixed but I firmly believe it can not be fixed that's why the dealership has tried to cover it up by withholding repair orders from me and combining 2 repair attempts into one, stating the repair order will get mailed to me later etc. None of my friends and relatives will ever buy a Lexus period, especially from DiFeo Lexus in New Jersey

Quick acceleration, smooth yet agile handling, and you can hear a pin drop. ...as long as the cabin fan is on low. All controls are easily accessible and the interior is luxuriously appointed. The icing on the cake was the dealer, Hendrick Lexus, in Charlotte; words simply cannot describe how advanced they are in customer service.

I am an ex Acura owner and decided to try a Lexus. The ES 330 is a superb vehicle with a quiet, luxurious ride. Lexus pursuit of perfection comes close with this vehicle. I am glad I waited and didn't buy an ES 300 model. For the price, the features cannot be beat. I would recommend this model to anybody in the new car sedan market. A great buy and a great ride!

I held off buying an ES300 until I had the opportunity to try the 330. The transmission is smoother and the acceleration is much better in the 330. Additionally, the model I purchased included the navigation system and the mark levinson audio. For the price, you can't beat it. I have used the navigation system almost daily, clear and easy to use.

My white 2004 Lexus ES330 sparkles like a diamond. The ride is quiet, smooth and luxurious, and the 225 HP 3.3 V6 is responsive, powerful and agile. The added leather/wood steering wheel and shift handle gives it an eye-catching extra that gets great comments from all admirers. Way to go LEXUS!

Although the handling is not as tight as my last high performance car, I enjoy my new Lexus ES 330 immensely. The size is perfect for 4, and it can accommodate 5 easily. The truck is generous, and the front wheel drive is a carefree comfort in Northern climates. The rear sunscreen is appreciated by back seat passengers, and the safety ratings make this car a prudent choice. Additionally, the dealership has been superb.

It is smoother, quieter, more powerful, gets better milage, more luxurious, more beautiful inside & outside and just oozes quality all over. The new ES 330 is the best mid-luxury car on the road.

I may be a tough grader in comparison to others, especially since I basically love my new car. It is a great compromise between performance and luxury (I am coming off a Saab 9-5). I feel better that the 330 has more power, and that the transmission problem appears to be solved. It is the best overall car in its class.

Shopped for months, and test drove many models before the decision on the ES 330. My first import in more than 20 years. This is a beautiful automobile. First considered the Cadillac CTS, then the Infinity G35 (really nice sports car), but went for the comfort of the Lexus.

Lexus has really outdone itself with the 2004 ES330. The car is beautifully designed, exquisitely appointed, and very well built with attention to every detail. In addition, it drives like a dream. The only thing that can compete with it is another Lexus. I can understand why the dealers insist on selling it as close to the sticker price as possible. It is worth every dime. Some of the German and Japanese competitors have good features as well, but none of them has the combination of beauty, luxury, perfect fit and finish, reliability, and value that this car has, at least not any car under $45,000 and few if any above that.

Very powerful car with great amenities. But the car has a pull to to the left that the mechanics can't seem to get rid off. It is particularly noticable at highway speeds. Otherwise the car is comfortable and gets good gas mileage.

After test driving many competing cars, it was quite easy to focus on the Lexus. Creature comforts are abundant. The ride is superb and quiet. Sound system is teriffic and the navigation system after conquering the learning curve is fantastic. The car is simply fun to drive and has adequate power. Cost is considerably less than the competition and car should be trouble free for years to come. Seats are extremely comfortable and the rear sunscreen is a big plus. There is nothing to dislike and is a real joy to drive.

Slightly less mid range punch but ride experience same as LS 430 (290 hp)which I had owned. The interior executed perfectly. My wife says this is most beautiful of the 18 cars I have owned. Standart suspension pleasingly taut. Prior to purchase I had heard the steering was not too sporty, I strongly disagree.

This will make it my third Lexus lease. The difference between my 2000 ES 300 and the new one, is like night and day. Aside from all of the safety features, the car handles and rides like a dream. Lexus knows how to build dependable and quality cars and this one is no exception. I have always felt that the ES line was the best value on the market.

The car exudes their motto "relentless pursuit of perfection", interior is the height of luxury, new 3.3/225hp has the power, exterior is contemporary. What a beautiful car to look at and so smooth and quiet to drive. Top-of-the-line material in every corner. Navigation/ Mark Levinson is the icing on the cake.

Having bailed out of a 2001 Cadillac Seville which had an unacceptable number of mechanical/electrical problems, I find this car a Godsend of a bargain. Fit and finish are flawless. There is plenty of power to get up the 8,200 foot hill that separates where I reside from the next town to the East. At about $8-10 K less than a Seville, this car has the quality that Cadillac seems to have foresaken.

There is a lot to like with no weaknesses. The interior fitted with leather and wood and the luminescent speedomter cluster compares favorably with the high priced luxury sedans. The new bigger engine provides more than adequate acceleration. Add in Lexus reliability, fit and finish, a good sound system, good fuel economy and a low price, and you have an attractive car.

I was looking for a car that offered primarily enough luxury for a quality drive, elegance (lexus) and a great ride quality after driving a corolla for years. I tested the European luxury cars and other Japanese luxury cars but my heart, mind and money all agreed only on the ES 330. I can't ask for more since I have all what I ever wanted in a sedan. Thank You Lexus.

Was ready to get last years es 300 for it's quality, rep, and luxury but a little afraid of it's sluggish performance numbers (200 hp). Started to consider the G35 instead. Then I heard about the es 330 and it's improved performance (225 hp), so I waited. V. glad I did. Lexus has delivered the goods. They've removed what little there was wrong with the 300. Perfect luxury sedan for the entry level market. Feels like you're driving a car worth twice as much. Granted, only had the 330 for two weeks now, but it's everything I hoped for. Quiet, smooth, tight. And if you can swing it, get the GPS package. Very fun toy for tech-heads.
