I have own my 2005 GPW for 7 years and this car has been so faithful as a daily driver and track car. The only issued i ever had was the clutch other then that this car is bullet proof. Runs handles like a dream and would recommend this car to any one.

I love this car. I love the way it handles, I love the way it accelerates, and I love the way it feels zooming down the highway at 80 mph with the wind rushing by. I bought a used 2004 with 39,800 miles on it and in amazingly good condition for about $18,000 hoping to have both a fun car to drive and an investment that would maintain or lose very little value over time. I nailed it. I show the car a few times a year and still find myself clearing my calendar when the weather is going to be good so I can take it for a nice long drive. Tough decision? Drive it or store it? Driving is a blast, but storing it will only increase the value (or bleeds out the value more slowly).

Amazing vehicle, I drive it daily and I don't believe there is a more fun to drive vehicle that is this dependable. I have taken to drag strip, ran great times, had around BMS a few laps and no issues. Do the maintenance and drive it. I do not have one complaint.

This little car handle like a rocket.I own a 2007 Honda Si, this car handle well, but not as good as the S2000. Well, if you want to hear this little rocket vtec kicks, shift to first gear and accelerate until you hit 8000 rpm and shift to second gear and will will know what I am talking about. Don't believe me! Try it for yourself.

At 60-years young I've been a car nut most of my adult life. I have to admit the S2 is the most fun machine I've driven. Value?... you would have to pay thousands more to get a roadster with the handling, performance, & styling of the S2. I'd like to know the process or the nut who figured the S2 @ 20 mpg! I'm on my 2nd S2 the very worst I've gotten, driving hard in the mountains, was 22 mpg, I'll average 24 mpg on the highway 27 mpg.

I had wanted this car since it came on the market. The sound of the exhaust, its strong, sporty appearance. All of its lure comes to life once you are behind the wheel. I'm a 1970's TR6 owner, so in being a sports car purest, the S2000 is marvelous fun. The car's handling is perfection and makes you hunt out winding roads for afternoon drives not to mention how much fun just driving to work can be. I enjoy every second behind the wheel. If you want an exciting ride, this is it!

The S2k is my first and maybe my last sports car and I love it. It is the most beautiful car that I have owned. Mine is black on black, which in my opinion is the best color for this car. It goes down the expressway like it was on a rail and it rolls down the city side streets with all eyes on the car.

Have lived with my S2000 for 4 years and almost 28k miles. Sporty car, perfect transmission, nice fit and finish and Honda reliability (zero problems). This is a car for people that want a sports car. Not a sporty car. Not luxury sports car. The car is exactly what Honda intended and it is perfect at that job. Only regrets are living "up north" and having to park it 3 months a year. The summers are great, top down almost every drive home for 5 months.

The best car I ever owned.

This is the first car I have ever had that I have had any affection for. It is fun to drive, cheap to operate (although it uses $4.25 premium it gets 24 mpg in town) and a real head turner. I only bought it because the trunk holds my golf club bag and the caddy.

I like my Honda S2004, but it almost has more power than I feel I can handle. The back end always feels like it is a split second from breaking loose. Maybe because I spun it around on some frost covered roads right after I bought it. Now it sits in the garage all winter.

I'm 37, just had my 4th kid - wife said no more motorcycles. So we compromised: S2000 (I win). I have a '65 Cobra replica that doesn't get the attention that this car gets - and lemme tell you the S2000 is more fun to drive and easier on the body. I hate to use a cliche, but it's a typical Honda: reliable, well- engineered, predictable (in a good way) and advanced. 240 HP out of a 4 cyl. that blows-away cars costing $15,000+ more. It's precise and road- sticky ... you can kick the back-end out when you want, but it never seems to do it absent a quick down-shift and 6,000 RPM boost. ** It would be perfect if it could re- grow some of my hair (I'm in pre-mid- life crisis mode).

A must for any true sports car fan

From one who has owned this car for almost three years now, one word suffices: Whee!! I can't think of a better buy. For those with complaints about rattles, the fixes are simple: For the passenger seatbelt rattle, twist the metal part of the seatbelt around the strap so that it lies flat against the passenger seat. For the rattle the clips for the convertible top make, pull the control for the top toward you after you put the top up for the night. That locks the clips in place. They no longer rattle. If the glove compartment rattles, line it with something soft and black. The dealership did that for me for free. It looks great and there is no more rattle.

I've had this car for only two months and it's been nothing but fun. Few people know what it is, and the styling gets a lot of comments. With its low production, it stays under the radar. Great acceleration and handling, with every control within reach. Top goes down in five seconds with ease. It's no wonder that it has the highest residual value after three years.

The S2000 is a great car, if it's what you're looking for. I get people all the time that ask me what kind of car it is, and about its stats. These things are very rare, which I love as Mustangs and Z4's are a dime a dozen. It's a true roadster that's best with the top down on an open road. Long highway trips can be tiring when cruising in 6gear with the engin humming around 4k rpm's for hours. I highly recommend test driving this beast as well as the compitition to truly get a feeling of what it's about. I bought mine as a welcome back to America present after being deployed to Iraq, and did several months of research before purchasing. You should do the same.

As with most on this site, I've been working toward this car for about 4 years and I finally got it. It was used, but still under warranty and had low miles. This is BY far the most fun car to drive. There are not too many cars out there that can give you the feeling that this car can. Ask any other S2000 owner and you'll see what I mean. Things to watch for are paint chips, rear tire wear and nasty break dust in the front. I've had very good luck with GoodYear F1 tires, good wet control with plenty of dry grip. I wouldn't trade this car for anything. Many people look at me and ask what sort of car this is... Drop the top, find a nice twisty road and blast!

The best 5 speed gearbox on the planet! 23 to 28 MPG with 240 horsepower and only 2800 pounds!! but its not stripped down.. its got all the "stuff"!

Hands down the best car I have ever owned. Reliable, beautifully engineered, a true joy to drive. The engine delivers all the power one really needs, the transmission gets the power to the low profiles tires with shift throws that are short and close together. The suspension is stiff, but not uncomfortable, the car really becomes an extension of the driver

I love this little car and you will too.

I bought this car when I was over 50 years old, so you can well imagine that this isn't the first car I've ever owned. I've owned Chevy's, VW's, Cadillac's, Audi's, two Porsche's (a 9llT Targa and a 944) and a couple I just as soon not admit. I've NEVER, however, had people literally run down the street after my car screaming at the top of their lungs at me in an attempt to find out what kind of car I was driving. That is: Until I bought this S2000. More strangers have walked up to me out of the blue to tell me how much they loved my S2000 than the total number of people that had ever said anything to me about all the previous cars I've ever owned... and, the Porsches were beautiful cars.

This is our second S2000. Had an 03 at first & traded for an 04 only cause the 04 had some significant upgrades I liked better over previous years. Would be in an 06 but I don't see enough improvement over our 04 to buy an 06. I suspect I will be in an 07 thinking Honda will do some nice upgrades. Yet how can you upgrade what is & has been a PERFECT sports car. I've driven the new Sky by Saturn & though it is cooler looking it doesn't even compare to the S2000 as doesn't a Miata or the new Pontiac Solstice. The S2000 is still the leader of the pack in small TRUE SPORTS CARS.

Since day one, this car has been a pleasure. You tell it to turn, it turns immediately and not too much. You tell it to go, it goes and exceeds your expectations. Chicks galore! This car is the bomb, not A bomb, and affordable too. The only thing I could possibly complain about is how many times I've spilled drinks in my lap or in my console because the drink holder/console is always full of change and other stuff that the drink doesn't fit.

I had to replace my 1998 M3 coupe and agonized for months for anything else with such near perfect combination of sharp handling, power and decent fuel economy. There were many worthy considerations including the g35 coupe (too heavy), the Mazda Rx-8 (too soft), and even the Mini Cooper S (too cute). But just one test drive in the S2000 snapping through the gears and carving up corners with surgical precision and the choice was easy.

First review was after owning for 5k miles. Current review is after two years. I can again confirm this was a smart purchase decision. Tire wear is always an issue with stock Bridgestone Potenza RE050's, but dry/wet grip is fanstastic. Also had the opportunity attent two open track days....well worth the money to get the experience. The S2000 handles fanstastically. Grin from ear to ear..can't wait to do it again. Criticisms: Rattling from convertible top latches; second gear grind early in life, seems to have gone away unless cold temps; passenger seatbelt rattles on door pannel/seat One last note: this car CAN be driven in the winter. Snow tires are a must and work great!

Previously owned a 2001 model that I had to change because of all year round functionality. Missed the vehicle so much that I couldn't wait to own another. Found a 2004 model. Just love the upgrades such as bigger engine, wheels, more torque etc. Delighted to be back behind the wheel of this little machine. The 2004 model is definitely easier to drive than the 2001 and I am still convinced that this is the best value for money in its class on the road. At 6'2" anything but a truck can be tight but this is quite comfortable. It is a really fun to drive vehicle and still turns heads even though it has been around for 5 years plus. Hope to keep for a long time.

Bought the 2004 S2K as a second vehicle to add a fun alternate to the fully owned, practical SUV. Tried a few competitors, but the S2K came in ahead of them all. Performance, for the price, lays all the others aside (save possibly for the Nissan 350Z). The S2K has become the vehicle of choice, but for bulk errands and carting the (large) dog around. The car is not for family convenience, but driving pleasure. Even a short commute is enhanced by the fun and, frankly, driveability of the S2K. Clearance (into work garage ramp and driveway) were no problem (slow and at an angle) for city driving, but the fun comes in on the open highway. Watch your speed - it takes you past legal w/o thought.

This car has major curb appeal, handles like a dream and makes driving anything else very disappointing. However, it has to use premium gas, will only carry 400 pounds in passengers and luggage, must be hand washed, children under 12 cannot ride in it and it is not comfortable for a taller driver due to the way the headrest on the seats is constructed. It is very expensive to get a satellite radio installed and there is no place to put anything like a purse if you are hauling a passenger.

The S2K is one of those cars that actually exceeds expectations. Honda did a great job improving the car for 2004 by making it more street worthy. I tried the BMW Z-4 (disappointing handling and hot cabin), Miata (cute but not up to date in terms of performance), Boxster (driving position difficult to adjust and overpriced but otherwise my second choice). The more I drive the S2K themore I appreciate the purity and grace of this roadster. It's the best auto bargain out there. Now if only they would add run flat tires...

The best car Honda has ever made (next to the venerable NSX). Not to sound cliche, but from the first time I drove it off the lot I knew that I was in for the ride of my life. The S2000 is the great example of perfection in terms of form and function. The 240 hp engine wails all the way up to 9000 rpm (01-03) leaving anything on the road behind. The body is simple and crisp. Too simple for some but just right for the enthusiast.

I just purchased an S 2000, after considering a BMW Z4. This car is a hoot, and in my opinion a much better value as a true sports car than the BMW. When I was in college my roommate had a new MG A Twin Cam. Yes, I am over 65! Any way, the MG, as I recall was red lined over 7000 RPM, and it would screem at high rev's, just like the S2K. I recall that most of those MG's experienced a total engine failure after about 10,000 miles. Everything about the S2000 is great except the cover for the top (it's a chore to put on properly). I am also disappointed in the lack of oil pressure and electric gauges.

The Honda S2000 is an amazing vehicle. It's styling is the best of any car on the road. People yell, "Nice car, mister!" all the time when I drive past. That never happened with any other car I've ever owned, and I'm 47 years old so I've owned a few. The interior is like the cockpit of an F-16 fighter. It's a great, snug fit, like a perfect set of driving gloves. Every control is within easy reach, and every instrument is easily read. The 6 speed shifter has short throws that scream precision! The car's reflexes are razor sharp, and there is no lag time when you want to accelerate. You do it NOW! Ripping off 8 grand shifts is such a blast! And all with the top down. What a car!

This car is just plain fun to drive. It will be very hard not to get a speeding ticket. Cornering is impressive. Put the top down and enjoy listening to the beautifully tuned engine when you rev it all the way to 9000 RPM. I love everything about this car except for one thing. Not made for a tall person. If you are less than 5 1/2 feet, you will enjoy this car! I do.

A wonderful convertible. I drove several makes and models and picked this one. Corners like its on rails, goes fast, stops well and what can you say about top down driving in the summertime. I would pick it as a second or third car however since its small and lots of noise with the top up. Its a great second car for me in Minneapolis because I store it in the winter and use my truck in the winter.

A car designed without any compromise to realize the Honda/Mugen spirit, as commented by Honda Japan employee. Some people complain about its low torque in the low~mid RPM, but only people that doesn't know how to drive a high-RPM engine car would make a stupid comment like that. (Thus only the U.S. S2000 was given a bore up to 2.2L in 2004) Honda engines are designed to be REV'd high. Very high frame rigidity despite it being a convertible, giving it great handling.

I really love this car. It is the next best thing to a sport motorcycle. Since it straightens out windy roads it makes you look at the map for more. In this car, the quickest way between two points is the windiest. My wife and I have taken it on several road trips including a week to CA from AZ. It could use some more trunk space but if you think of it as motorcycle, it's got plenty! Better than a motorcycle when the weather gets nasty and the top goes up.

I checked out several competitors and selected th S2000 because it gave the most bang for the buck and actually out-performs cars that are a lot more expensive. The handling is superb the ride tight and the car performs beautifully. Porsche owners have coveted my Berlina Black beauty with the frot airdam and wing spoiler. A great birthday present (along with an account with the state troopers)!

I never saw myself buying a small 2- seater until I saw my friends S2000. I went to the dealership and within 10 minutes of the drive, I fell in love with this car. The performance is amazing. The car handles/corners better then any vehicle I have ever driven. The best part about the engine is when it hits 6200 RPM and the VTEC kicks in. You get an addition boost into the seat and then the S2000 transforms into an F1 racer. The interior is fantastic. The leather smell and the aluminum panels really give this car a high dollar touch and feel. I really have no complaints about the S2000, I highly recommend this car!

This car is the most fun car you could purchase for the money. With a 9k redline there is no doubt about the fun this car can produce. The handling is superior to almost any car. You get good looks, good performance, and great mileage from a Honda so you know it is reliable. The closest comparable car to a S2000 would have to be the new C6 Corvette, which probably doesn't handle as well in the convertible model.

My weekend car for the past 10 years was a '90 RX7 conv. Took an S2k for a 30 min. test ride in July over winding roads and fell in love with it. Great on turns and fab acceleration - especially in third gear. Interior very well designed and trunk very adequate room for a sports car. Had some difficulty fastening the cover over the top when it is down, but it's in place. To my taste, the styling beats all the other two seat convertables.

Wow, what a pleasure it is to drive this car. I have not had so much fun driving in years. This is what MG and esspecially Triumph would be selling today if they had kept improving the MGB and TR6 for the last 30 years. This is a roadster for those that want to experience the drive. It is absolutely not an isolation chamber to get you from point A to B with little involvement. I have taken this car for one 1000 mile road trip. Several hundred miles were on curvy two lanes. That was big fun. What was not fun was bumper to bumper through LA on the way home. In my opinion this is not a good commuter car.

Have had the car for 3 weeks. Very fun to drive. Lack of low end torque is a problem. Very quick when revved high. 0- 60 times of under 6 seconds only with good driver and really slamming it through first 2 gears. Extremely quick after 4000 rpm. Seats a bit uncomfortable. Car is stunningly beautiful and will be a classic (perhaps soon; last S might be made in 2005). I don't really miss storage because we have a van. Long trips are a no no. Handling is the best in its class. If you like torque and quick starts get a mustang or 350Z.

The S-2000 is one of the sexiest, fastest, smoothest shifting sports cars on the planet. A car with a 9,000RPM redline coupled with blinding speed, awesome handling, and a banshee like howl abouve 6,500RPM, yet still giving you 20MPG city - 30MPG highway....how can you go wrong? It is a BMW Z-4 and Porsche Boxster killer for about 15-20K less than the German autos. Add 6K worth of toys - a supercharger, Brembo brakes, shock tower supports, and an upgraded clutch, and you have almost 400HP in a 2,800lb car - this combo will definitely eat 911's and Ferrari's with aplomb.

Absolutely stunning ride. Beautiful in Berlina Black. The 04's adjustments to peak torque and redline make the car more versitile without diminishing performance. The engine screams when you want it to. . .and the handling is superlative. Very liveable, even on a daily commute of 22 miles. I do benefit from reverse traffic, so not stuck in bumper to bumper. Acceleration is amazing and as I pile up the miles I am getting used to drawing the max out of an engine that loves to rev so high. Compared to my previous roadsters, i.e., 72 MGB and 68 Austin-Healy Sprite, this car is light years ahead in every respect.

After the first week, it was clear -- this car is worth every penny I paid for it. It's unbelievably fun to drive, has an amazing gearbox (almost unreal how smooth shifting it is), is rock solid, and I get so many looks from other people. Passing situations are also a breeze, if you see a hole in traffic, you can get there with this car. The engine sounds amazing also, I love to rev this baby! Within an hour of our drive to the dealership, she had her car. Weeks later, she allowed me to drive her home in it following an exhausting week at work. Wow! What fun! No wonder she chose to drive it all the time. (We have two other vehicles.) It's everything I ever wanted in a muscle car in my youth combined with the sporty cars I always coveted as a young adult. Now, at this stage of my life, I'd have to say that it compares favorably to Viagra.

Only two negatives, no storage room on the interior and you need to rev the engine past 3000rpm to get any power from a stopped position; otherwise this car is great to drive, lot's of power once the engine rpms are up, classic road feel, smooth gearbox, very comfortable driving position in nicely contoured sport seats and great handling. I have had my S2000 about 9 months now. It is lots of fun to drive. Very smooth shifter. Wonderful handling. More than enough power. Stepping it down into Vtec once in awhile is loads of fun. For the money I couldn't find a better sports car.

It was time to replace our modified '63 Alfa Spider show car/club racer I'd owned since new--an Italian classic. We drove a few possibilities and then, the latest iteration of the S2000. Simply put, the Honda is the new classic--an agressively quick, superb handling, extremely handsome, fun to drive, all- out performance tourer that others can only hope to equal anywhere near the price. I've driven and raced many cars over the years, some costing substantially more, but have never been so enamored of a vehicle that offers so much for such a modest sum. An absolutely stunning package and a new classic, indeed.

I test drove an S2000 yesterday after having driven a couple of 350Z's. Overall the S2000 feels like a much better quality car, but the 350Z as an intoxicating torque that pushes you back no matter what gear you are in. In the S2000 you'd have to drop a gear or two and nail the rpm's to get the same feeling. Honda should put a 3.0 liter inline six in the S2000. Nothing could touch it then.

I literally drove everything for over a year; MB slk; 911; boxster; bmw z4; z3; 350; rx8; crossfire. none were bad or performed poorly; none also (except the 911 and z4) were exceptional; until I drove the s2000. What a rocket! What fun! Totally dedicated to the driver and does not cater to anything or anyone else. Everything at your fingertips (or your foot!) and by far the most fun to drive in any situation; mundane to the exhirating. Build quality is superb; rock solid; rival to the z4. best decision I have made; and all for only 30k.

Almost no room for improvement!

I've always been a die-hard fan of the 8-cylinder engine. I was even going to get a Vette, ... until I drove the S2K. It is so much fun to drive and attracts all the right kind of attention. Just what you'd want in a sports car. I compared it to the Z4 and the 350Z, and there was just no comparison. The S2K is a better car for a better price. The '04 Honda S2000 is a great value as well as a great performer. I strongly recommend it.

S-2000 is a good choice.

Extremely fun car to drive. Tracks extremely well in hi-speed corners. Tremendous power once rolling because the VTEC engine develops its real power at mid to high rpms. The hard molded convertible boot cover is of little practical use (takes up much of trunk when not installed) but I think it does look good on the car.

so far after 8000 miles and 6 months this car is near perfect. just oil changes. no oil use. don't beleive what others say about no low end torque. this car goes, and handles, and has a great ride, even for distances. the build quality is excellent. lows:crappy stereo, cramped interior room, twitchy oversteering at limit takes time to master...highs, performance, build quality, features, a/c, gearbox, brakes, engine, rigid mid/front engine designed chassis is second to none. and when you vetc it just screams from 6,0000 to 8200 rpm. this car is not for everyone, just serious roadster carnuts who can appreciate this limited production hand built honda.

Honda has spent money where I care-- engine and handling, while not running up the cost with luxury items like heated seats, etc. It is remarkably powerful, and keeps giving all the way to redline, just like a rotary engine, except you get the added kick of a huge boost at about 6200 RPM when the VTEC kicks in. It corners like it's on rails; the engine sounds great; the car looks great and they aren't at every stoplight like some cars. For the enthusiast, there are few cars which can compare at any price, and none with a price tag anywhere close to this car's.

This is a street-legal pure-bred race car. It has no negative features. Period. The engine is superb, perhaps the best 4 cylinder engine ever produced. The chassis is incredibly stiff. Handling and road manners are those that one would associate with sports cars that cost 3 or 4 times more. The car is not for everybody: if you do not enjoy shifting constantly and revving the engine this car is not for you (or rather, you are not in this car's league).

This car is an absolute blast to drive, I test drove many different cars before deciding on the S2K. It is almost as much fun as my Triumph Speed Triple, but also lets me bring home a few groceries. Road noise and a harsh ride are a part of the character of a roadster that's more than offset by the S2000's precise handling and sweet drivetrain. Though some complain about torque, if you drive it like a motorcycle (rev like crazy), the V- Tech L4 provides more than adequate output in an open top, RWD roadster with Honda reliability and good resale value without one on every corner. Way to go Honda!!

This little yellow car flies. I've test driven the Boxster, TT 225 HP, Z3, Z4, M Roadster (used) and wasn't 'in love' with any of them. When I hopped into my S2000, I knew before I left the parking lot that I would buy it. I love this little car. It flies. Really fun. The irony is that I really do care about having a good stereo. But on this car, I made a huge exception because of the performance. It's that much fun. If you're thinking of buying a two-seater convertible, you owe it yourself to check out this car. I didn't think it could be possible but Honda produced an even better car the second time around! Better looking and less "edgy" is the best way I can compare the two. Its a dual personality with no conflict between the two. It will idle in traffic all day and get you to the top of the on ramp doing 85mph (and still give you 23-26 mpg). If you really really like to drive, you absolutely can't find a better car for less than twice the price. I can't say enough good about it. After purchasing this car in Florida, I immediately drove it 1300 miles in 2 days to Pennsylvania and the only complaint was that I had to put the top up due to rain. Even on a long road trip the car is just as comfortable if not more so than much larger luxury cars. The biggest problem is keeping the speed with in legal limits (yeah right). It feels just as smooth and tight at 80 as it does at 35. The main warning is that there is very little front end clearance and you have to watch out for potholes and rough roads not to mention curb damage in parking lots.

Just purchased a 2000 S2000. Vehicle has 20,500 miles on it. This car is well built and drives like a dream. Only draw back is plastic window in back and a pain putting boot over top. Stereo could be a better quality sound. Honda should have put the speakers in the side panel of door. This is a fun vehicle to drive that performs well and seems to be of good quality. Highly recommended. Worth every penny.

We bought a 2003 model in August and enjoyed it. We joined a S2000 club and had rides thru the hill country nearby. We learned of the changes in the 2004 model and we decided to trade up to one. We got the new one mid February and are very glad to have done the upgrade to the 2004. The ride is smoother and with the larger engine it has a lot more power in the lower gears. I could not believe there could be an improvement over the great 2003 that we had, but I sure love driving it.

I love my car . I have always had trucks . But the only thing I feel that is wrong is the softness of the seats. I drove it to NC and I was not pleased with it . short distances is fine . You need to work on comfort on the bottom of the seats. thank you for making a great car.

The S2000 has to be one of the best values on the market. The styling evokes images of speed when standing still. Inside a spartan, yet functional cockpit, the driver is completely surrounded by everything necessary to enjoy the driving experience. The engine is smooth all the way up to the 8000 rpm redline. Shifts are tight and precise. The shifter is a dream. Lane changes and turns are great. One warning, it is very easy to break out the rear end when going around a tight corner. The ride is even more fun topless. This car is fun to drive, looks great and is inexpensive compared to anything else that could possibly run with it.

This is the first sports car I have ever owned and I am very impressed. I own 4WD for inclement weather, but when the sun is out and the roads are dry, this is an awesome ride. The handling is amazing and the control you have in the cockpit is nothing but reassuring when you are navigating curves across the Virginia mountains or touring down a country road. It takes off like a rocket and stops on a dime. Makes driving anywhere just pure fun!

Best way to describe it: "Everything you need; nothing you don't." I live in Michigan and this IS my daily driver. There is no doubt that this is an "enthusiasts" car. You will wear this car like your best pair of jeans. The 2.2L '04 engine has plenty of torque down low and enough top end to make you feel like you're drivng F1. There are scores of additional updates for '04 as compared to '03. One key note: The '04 model produces significantly MORE power/torque than Honda claims-check out www.vtec.net for details. Fuel economy of 20/25 city/hwy isn't bad for a sports car.

Faster than the MR2 and Miata, more agile than the 350Z roadster and a LOT less money than a Boxster, Z4 or TT, the S2000 hits a sweet spot. It has a mid-engined 4 cylinder (yes the motor sits entirely behind the front axle), a power to weight ratio better than anything within $20K and handling and brakes to match. If you're considering a roadster, go test drive an S2000! When the rpms go above 6000, VTEC kicks in and you're pushed back in your seat - what a rush! This is the most fun to drive car I've ever owned! The biggest downside I can find is lack of passenger side airbag cut-off which means children under 12 should not ride in this car.

In rating this vehicle, I kept the scores relative to what it is: a well built, high performance, great looking, seat of the pants sports car. No frills, just pure excitement on the right roads. If you are looking for a touring sports car to drive on Interstate highways, I'd recommend a 350Z, G35 or Z4 over this car. I love it so far, and go through withdrawals on days that I don't drive it. BTW- it's definitely made to be driven hard on good roads, but have a good radar detector with you.

I was originally in the market for a 1- 2 year old 911. A friend who owns a 2002 S2000 recommended I look at the 2004 model. He was right on. Even though I'm 6'2'' I still fit comfortably even with the top up. The reviews written about the 2004 are pretty much right on. If you want a car that feels like a car set-up for the track and you crave F1 engine whine this is the ticket

This is truly an "enthusiasts" sports car. To sum it all up, this car has everything you need, and nothing that you don't. Definetely a significant amount of interior noise from the wind and tires. However the best noises are heard from the twin oval tipped exhausts. She revs like a F1 and sounds like a banshee. Fuel consumption is conservative at 20/25 city/hwy. Honda's S2K definatley provides the most bang for the buck, no doubt. Where else can you get drop top pleasure, with an engine like a bat out of hell, with one of the best transmission in the world, and killer looks for about $30 grand?

A superlative driving experience; the '04 exterior treatments subtly improve the overall look of the car, while the 2.2L gives it more usable torque and passing power around 3000rpm than the previous models. The revised suspension is more comfortable over bad roads as well. And yet, no loss of performance!

I said I would never buy black again. The last black rag top was a Sunbeam. Well I did, and I don't regret it one bit. In fact the car is black inside and out. Feel like a million in her and for a 72 year old, with cancer and all that entails, it is a miracle cure for me. Never had the top up and don't intend to. Wind is not a bother at 85, and at that speed, you can't hear the radio, so reception is not an issue.

Just picked up one from the first shipments from Japan! The handling on this years model is very nice with the larger tires. The retuned suspension makes the car glued to the road. A great bang for the buck! Don't expect much from the stock radio though, the sound quality is terrible! The seats form nicely around you if you are of average build. I've found that its a bit difficult to get into the car if you are tall (6' or over). I'll add more to this review (if I can) once I break in the car!

Best bang for buck you'll ever find.

The S2000 is for those fun-loving people. It drives so smoothly, and takes turns even smoother. Sexy styling, and the interior looks like a cockpit. Real cool. System sucks but who cares, because if you get this car and don't pimp it out you don't know what you're missing out on. TURNS HEADS WHEREVER YOU GO. Who care about torque when you got everyone staring at you driving down the street with the top down and system up?

What A GREAT Car!

I did my reasearch in this catagory..the hands down winner was the S2000. Having never thought about this vehicle I was off to see what all the fuss was about. After an hour of face to face with this shy but powerful car I walked away owning a red one. I wanted a car to mimic the performance of my motorcycle only have the comfort of a 2 pasanger vehicle and I got it. If you love to feel acceleration, if you love to hear the motor music and love to turn on a dime this is your car. Sure, if I was in the market to pay $50 K plus there is another door open..however, this was a add on to my driving fix and the price tag was right.

love this car!!!

I am 58 years old and retired, growing up I raced motorcycles in motorcross etc. I live in South Florida and I've wanted another motorcycle for some time but this state is full of old retired people (like me) and lots don't drive well and they run motorcyclist down like dogs I test drove a lot of sports cars and had given up on finding the acceleration trill of a motorcycle with four wheels I found this thrill in the Honda S2000 with four wheels and disk brakes, 240 hourse power that shifts at 9000 rpm. Hang on and drive one.
