This has been a great vehicle and has held up well from being used in salt and on dirt and gravel roads. It has both AWD and 4WD which you cannot find anymore in a midsize SUV. GM climate control is great. The downsides are common to many SUV's and light trucks and they are front wheel bearing assemblies and rear disc brakes used in salt, mud, and on rough roads. Original front wheel bearing assemblies were expensive and didn't last more than 30 to 40k miles, however, the price of replacements have dropped and life span has increased. Too bad GM stopped making the Trailblazer in 2009, although I understand it has been revived and being manufactured in China for foreign sales and the possibility of being brought back to the US.

I'm just paying off mine and repairs have cost mo!

The trailblazers are to big for the frame they are on. With that being said they usually have a ton of front end problems. II have spent hundreds on repeat repairs on my trailblazer. I got it from a dealership with 64,000 miles on it and now 3 years later I have 212,100 miles on it and I swear I hate it breaking all the time. Mine is the luxury with heated leather seats 3rd row seating running boards sun roof etc. Well I don't drive it rough and I stay with the upkeep on it (frequent oil changes). I have replaced the whole front end. Bearings, struts, shocksshocks, joints, brakes, ball joints, catalac converter, windshield, rear defrost, rear lights, speakers just working when they want (go in and out constantly). The rear wiper doesn't work. Alignments been done and won't stay aligned. Middle row middle seat belt locked and won't go up or down. Window in the rear won't open jammed shut. I will never buy another one of these. I needed a vehicle and I traded in my Saturn Vue for this and I wish I didn't but my family grew so I really had to unfortunately.

I have wanted to love my 2004 Trailblazer since I bought it in 2006. But from the day I got it I have had nothing but bad luck and problems. Replaced transmission twice. Taillights are constantly going out. AC has been fixed numerous times, will work about month and go out. Sensors are constantly being changed. I have finally saved up enough money to junk this thing. And that's what it is junk!

Avoid if buying used

Bought a used trailblazer with 80,000 miles and it has been a nightmare every since seem like something major breaks on it every month. I have replaced every sensor the onstar computer failed which killed the battery everyday. 4x4 works when it feels like it and have replaced every suspension part on it, Have replaced the passanger seat belt twice after it keeps locking up. Paint clear coat is coming off too. Wish I would have kept my 96 jeep grand cherokee.

I bought my 04 Trailblazer n 08. It had 65,000 miles on it. The 1st. problem I notice was the a/c took to long to cool down. I check the trans fluid and the dip stick had rust on it. I forgot about the rust and bought it anyway. The CEL came on a few weeks later and I had to replace the thermostat. A few months down the road the trans begin to slip going to 3rd. gear. I had to replace the clutch fan to fix the a/c and installed a corvette servo to fix the slip. I've had to replace a motor mount, 2 water pumps and an instrument cluster. Last X-mas, I rebuilt the valve body to fix a TCC jerk @ 65mph. Now I need a rear end @ 134,000 miles.

It's a good truck if it's taken care of. I bought the truck from a friend that's owned it since brand new in 2004 he got lazy with the oil changes and it ended up blowing a crank seal which blew the motor. He had me put a motor in it then I bought and it's been running fine ever since. I've had a few problems with it. Transfer case blew up valve cover seals. but all and all it's a good truck. I take it out and beat on it in the trails I jump it haul my 3,000 pound trailer behind it almost every day and it hauls fine. Love it.

-Engine shuts off while driving, says low oil pressure or service brakes. Both have been inspected, no problems. Looking at replacing the computer system again, since nobody can find the issue. -One headlight and taillight go out each year. -Cruise sensor has been replaced twice (still only works randomly) -Check engine light is always on. 4 different mechanics found nothing wrong, so they replaced the sensor, only for it to come back on a few months later. -4x4 has been serviced several times (four, I think) because it does not engage when placing into Auto 4x4 or 4 high/low. It is broken again and I am looking at a minimum of $600 to fix it again. -Gas tank spills out on every fill.

i have owned it since 2005 and when i bought it the dealer put a towing package on it it had about 100,000 miles on it. it is great for light towing. i have also taken it of road onto some trails hunting. It goes through snow and ice really well and i should know i live in northern WI.but for this particular Model trailBlazer I have found that many of my friends that have owned one along with mine have had the exaust manufold crack around 120,000 to 140,000. overall my trail blazer has 157,000 miles on it. there is a slight leak of anti-freeze in the rear heater coil. Personally my trailblazer has done its job and will continue to for a good many miles.

My father always told me to buy chevy. But for me this is my last chevy product. I have replaced seals on the both rear axles because they leaked. The fix did not work on the right rear. Now I am waiting to replace the axle. But it is on National backorder. So it seems like many people are having the same problem. This should be a recall problem. No more chevy junk for me.

This Trailblazer just keeps on trailing!

I've had this Trailblazer for as is old now, with 140,000 miles on it. It has only ever been towed once, for a clogged catalytic converter at about 60,000 miles. Also at about 120,000 miles the exhaust manafold cracked and needed to be replaced. But hey all cars break... Besides the short list of problems, this car has been wonderful, its been used hard and still pulls the fishing boat in the hills on weekends with ease. Great family car. Great cargo hauler. Number one choice for family trips. Loaded. Third row seat model (EXT). It has it all. This is the best Chevy I've ever had! If you need a good utility or person hauler. This is a comfortable, reliable choice you can be happy with.

Bought this 2004 trailblazer with 40,000 miles on it 2 years ago. Looked fine inside and out. Have had nothing but problems since I drove it off the lot. From power window motor burning out ( $175 to replace just the motor) to main electronic control panel melting down under the passenger seat directly under my childs car seat,to serious motor problems and all this before I even have 100,000 miles on it. All in all its in the shop more often than not and I usually walk out with a $300 to $500 repair bill. No my mechanic is not a thief. The latest repair is going to be well over $1000. THe check engine light is on all the time and I am absolutely sick of this vechicle. What a dissapointment.

I bought this vehicle in Feb. Ran great for 5 months. In the last month I've spent $1850 on repairs!! Accelerator pedal position sensor, the computer, and the thermostat. All one week after the other. Now it's been stalling on me for the past week. The shop can't seem to find anything wrong with it, but they want to to actually stall on them so they can see what's wrong with it. It cranks back up after it stalls. The radio also screws up, but it was replaced by previous owner. I def got a crappy deal out of this one. I like the size since I'm a musician. But overall....I should have gotten the Pathfinder!!

It seems that most people only write reviews when they are dissatisfied with something and don't do anything when they are pleased. I've owned my trailblazer since it was brand new and it just turned over 200,000 miles. This vehicle has never given me a problem and I have full confidence in it and wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. I just put new tires, brakes, shocks, and struts on it so I fully expect it to go up to a quarter million miles. The amazing thing is when a person looks at the outside or the inside they wouldn't have a clue about the mileage. It has held up very well. No oil leaks, no rust and no rips in the fabric on the interior. Good Job General Motors!

I LOVE this car. I got it in 2007 when it was 3 years old and it is now 7 years old. I have never had to take it in for major repairs (only oil changes and tune ups) It has never once stalled on me. It has 72,000 miles. It gets about 20 mpg on the highway and about 15 in town. The seats are for the most part comfortable only when you go on long trips do they become slightly uncomfortable. The interior design is pretty simple, I don't need fancy. I love the exterior color as well it is a really deep blue metallic with a gold pinstripe. I have got a lot of compliments on the car. It rides nice and I love driving it. It is great off road too. I love it and would highly recommend it to you.

Traded in my Subaru Outback with 300,000 miles for a brand new 2004 trailblazer. As soon as it was driven off the lot the truck stalled and the dealership said nothing was wrong. This problem continued. My husband, being a mechanic, found the problem that Chevy would not pay for...a bad air pump. We sunk over 8,000 into this truck and were stuck with it until 2010, when my husband traded it in for a 2010 Subaru. The truck is a mechanical nightmare. Chevy stopped producing the truck due to the excessive complaints. Also, not a good ride for people with back problems. I am so glad I no longer own this SUV and am so happy I got a Subaru Outback back...which I will never part with again!

I purchased my TB (32,000 miles) used with manufacture warranty and a good dealership to stand behind it. The original owner was from Pennsylvania which has rough winter weather. Spare tire mechanism was frozen, dealership replaced for free. Tb ran great with no major repairs until aug/nov/dec 2009- replace headlight assy $370 because the adjuster for the light bulb was broken, $350 to replace inst panel because the speedometer stopped functioning, $25 replace gas cap, replace left u-joint, sway joints, sway bar in front $800, first set of brakes&rotors since my ownership $400 back & front. Overall I'm pleased with it's performance. GM should've put recalls out for headlight &inst panel.

I bought this car and drove problem free for about five months then, at 63,000 miles the transmission went out. luckily the car was still under warranty (It would have cost me $3100). since this replacement in December 2008 I have had no major problems with the car. The Trailblazer is very comfortable and has plenty of power, even for towing light loads. The steering and engine are both very smooth feeling and make it pleasant to go on long trips across country. This car does very good in the snow and in very light off road applications. overall the gas mileage is good with about 20 on the freeway in town is 14 mpg.

Leased my vehicle in April 2004. By May 2004 the check engine light popped and the vehicle would lose power at any speed over 40. Dan Perkins could not find the problem and instead of listing the problem on the work order the tech simply put women complaining of problem. In 2008 I had a choice purchase or give the dealer $4,000 for the problem. The tranny just let go. I get 4 miles to the gallon and the car is rough to ride in. It actually worsens my back condition. Also, the noise level is terrible.

Dealer tore apart the rear end and it was in pieces.(metal fatigue) Also while in had lumbar motor replaced(it burned out after using it 3 times).. $3000 to fix both. 50K mark..Drivers side window wont seal at high speeds (interstate) when putting window up. 44K mark fuel computer chip fail. Had towed and dealer had to replace computer chip and fix the fuel system... $1600 fix. at 67K mark RPM gauge failed. Drivers side window wont seal at high speeds(interstate) when putting window up. Typical USA vehicle. 73K on it now and I'm trying to dump before my wallet goes dry

I was truly impressed when it came time to drive through the snow & it handled the weather just great. I found this truck to be very reliable so far, and I feel safe driving it; besides the regular maintenance my car has not been in the shop for anything else. I couldn't be anymore confident that this was a great buy!

We bought our Trailblazer used from Carmax with about 14000 miles. It's mostly used for travel, as the gas mileage makes it tough to commute in. Just this week I noticed a hum in the front end.. It's the front hubs, bith need to be replaced, with a front end alignment to the tune of over $1000. I haven't even ventured into the faulty speedometer and random flashing dashboard lights.. this will become a trade in sooner than later.

Everything was going great, then at 58,000 miles the line that feeds the transmission fluid rusted out. Dealer said they stock those lines like they stock oil filters because it's such a common problem. It just wouldn't go one day, my choice to spend $4000 to fix it, or send it to the auction and hope to get as much of the $5800 I owe. Auction it is, meanwhile I'm stranded, and it was just a baby. Oh yeah, no trade in value.

We bought this used in 2006. It had 24000 miles on it, ran great, and just enough room for our family of 3 at the time. Over all, the SUV worked great for the first year. Then small things started to happen more and more. First we had to replace our brand new breaks/rotors only after a year 1/2. Second the trunk hatch went out and had to replace that, third our back windshield wiper broke. ($1200 to fix this alone) We also, only after a year of replacing the first set, have to replace our rotors yet again. Something is wrong with the front end, never in a crash, so we are just trading this in this weekend. Last children in car seats don't have leg room from the front/back seat.

I love driving my trailblazer! Remember this is not a luxury SUV and a basic 5 yr old model. After 60k mi this car drives like new. The engine is perfectly balanced and powered for the weight of the vehicle. When pulling heavy trailers feels if there was nothing behind. I still make 17-18 mpg. The level of comfort inside is fantastic, and I drive quite a bit in the city and highway. Chevy did a great job putting it together and really making this car a truly heavy duty car in every aspect from inside the hood to its logo. If kept well with services, and scheduled maintenance, you will find no problems, but the ones expected in a high mileage car. A car to drive for all purposes (literally)!!

Bought this TB used with 30,000 miles. Have had nothing but good luck with it. I beat the hell out of this car (muddin and taking my toys out) and still have had zero problems with it (knock on wood). The I6 is an awesome engine, can hardly feel any difference when towing. The 4X4 is mountain goat strong - go anywhere. Comfortable for long trips, even to sleep in for a few days. Massive amounts of interior storage. All in all a good truck. Traded in from a Nissan Xterra - this is on par with an Xterra. Just a whole lot cheaper due to GMs crap resale value. Ground clearance stinks however, had to put a 3" lift on it - althought 98% will never leave pavement - still good offroad

I bought the car new and discovered the driver side window worked very slow. Dealer replaced motor three times and worked on it on at least 10 visits. Never was fixed! Transmission went out at 70000 miles. Car was never driven hard and perfectly maintained. Numerous problems with emission air motors to the tune of $200 a pop. Had to replace the drivers side hub assembly, (bad bearing), $350. Oil gauge stopped working at 85000 miles. Change oil light very difficult to reset. Rubber seal on back doors had to be re glued twice. Engine runs very well with no problems, have used nothing but synthetic oil for life of car. Radio lighting goes on and off. No Low Fan control for AC or heat.

Change the shocks, they come with street car shocks. When I bought my 04 it did not handle will, Brian the service manager, sent me over to a front in shop and they put on new truck style shocks for 4WD units ($500.00) man what a change, had a better ride, no more lean around corners, no rolling from side to side when changing lanes, also my CHP friend had a lager Chev SUV he also changed out the shocks, big improvement to his ride. I have 98,900 mile on mine. I would buy another one, but please tell the people at GM wake up guys and put better shocks on from the factor..

I am happy with the Trailblazer, it's wonderful for road trips even though gas mileage is an issue. My complaint is the instrument panel failure at 45,000 miles and no help from GM or the dealership, and from what I have read on the Internet this is a common problem with this year of TB's. It will be my last GM product.

Really like the Trailblazer. Fun to drive. Never had an issue - mechanically... Can pull/trailer but uses some gas. Had an S-10 Blazer and wanted to "upgrade." Liked the S-10 Blazer's gas mileage better even when towing... Back seats on the Trailblazer only lay down if you pull fronts seats all the way up... S-10 didn't have to adjust the front seats... Should have kept the s-10 blazer... if you find one, get it... Trailblazer? Dime a dozen. Find one with low miles - you'll be happy. Plenty of storage room in the back - it's an suv.

I've had my TB for four months now, and I'm pretty happy with it. I average 13-15 miles in combined city/highway driving. The car drives ok for a truck, but I feel like the handling is very rubbery (compared to my F150). It's more than OK for normal driving, though. And it's spacious enough to handle all my normal cargo for weekend trips and my dog (German Sheppard) has plenty of space in the back. It's a good car, really.

Just bought this truck 2 weeks ago, so I can only speak to the reliability during that time. So far, so good. I do know the dash was replaced before I bought it, so that timebomb is taken care of. As to gas mileage, I'm getting on average of 22 mpg highway and 15 city. Comparable to my F150. Love the handling. Snow and ice don't make me nervous anymore. This thing is a rock! I'd buy a new one tomorrow if I could. Much better than the Explorer, and I'm usually a diehard Ford freak. The stereo and DVD are just icing. Love the straight 6.

We have had our TB for 4 years and have had very little wrong with it. Some issues in the beginning, but has been great since (knock on wood). We average 17 in the city and 21+ on the highway. For a big 4x4 with a big interior it is a great buy. We plan on driving it till it stops.

Four and a half years later, still going strong. Pick up from a stop is acceptable and very impressive acceleration in the higher RPM range. Front leather seats have very little side support during turns. Ride is smooth and confortable but road feel in the steering is lacking. In 4 1/2 years the problems have been: Right front wheel bearing went bad, replaced hub and bearing, wire harness at right headlight melted, a new pig tail was installed, memory for driver 2 with all its settings are lost then reappear the next time the vehicle is used, stopped at a traffic light, engine cuts off and the check gauges light comes on, engine will restart fine and the warning light goes off. Lots of ghosts.

I purchased my 2004 TrailBlazer around a year ago and have put around 14,000 on it since. As of 43,000 miles there have been no real problems thus far. The engine I find is perfectly powered to deal with towing boats, trail riding, and on-ramp acceleration. I have only two complaints the 8" ground clearance when I am on trails or the beach (my girlfriends Rav 4 sits higher) and the whopping 18mpg on the highway. At $4.20 a gallon where I live its a beast keeping the tank full. As far as cornering, it's an SUV. What can you really expect.

Have had TrailBlazer for almost 2 years. Have had it in the shop 3 times and is heading back for service 4 wheel drive light is on and I have not used the 4 wheel drive for 3 months. The interior is pretty cheap and the middle arm rest is squeaky when you rest your arm on it. The mpgs I get are about 16/17. When you fill up, gas always spills out at the end. Since I have had my TrailBlazer I have had few problems. Vehicle has required only routine service. I am pleased with many things with my vehicle however it does leave things to be desired. This will be my last American made vehicle since the thing is only worth a fraction of what I paid for it considering it is in perfect used condition. This vehicle is built more like a 2000 then a 2004 lacking features other SUV's of the same year offer. The engine could have been a little more refined with a lot more power and better fuel economy. I was recently looking at the new 2008 TrailBlazer and Chevy has made some great improvements.

I do not recommend this vehicle. I have had nothing but problems with it. I have issues with the headlights dimming when I apply the brakes, the buttons on the radio have chipped off, the leather seats were worn after about 4 months, as well as weather stripping problems and turn signal malfunctions. Just to name a few of the problems.Eventhough I had an extended warranty, GM found reasons to cover none of my problems. I wanted an SUV and was excited when I bought this one as I thought I was buying a vehicle that I would love and drive for many years. Now I'm just looking forward to the day that I can trade it in for something else and not have to roll negative equity into my next vehicle.

Upgraded from an Impala LS to Trailblazer for more storage and light hauling. Very pleased with overall performance - acceleration leaves a little to be desired, but I was coming from an Impala. I have driven in 2 blizzards already and felt very relaxed. Gas mileage is a little bummer - I average around 13 in city and 18 on highway. At first I loved it - smooth ride, good size. But we've had nothing but troubles: 3 transmissions in 50,000 miles, electrical problems, computer issues, problems with the fuel injectors. Its been in and out of the repair shop for the last 6 months, and the last time we only had it home for 12 hours before it wouldn't start again. Too bad too, because I loved driving my TB, but the reliability stinks.

Great vehicle. A decent amount of room for all your stuff and plenty of power to get it where it needs to go. I had some initial problems with the tachometer sticking when held at a constant rpm. Fourtunatly it was covered under warranty. I also just had to put a wheel bearing in it which was kinda pricy. My vehicle has 60,000 miles on it and I was the second owner. I'm assuming the first owner beat the crap out of the thing and it still drives as smooth as glass. I baby my cars so I think it should last me a good while. I love Chevys and it's because they know how to build something that's tough.

The Trailblazer has many of the features I was looking for in a SUV. Plenty of room, comfortable ride and tons of engine power. But all the problems I've had with this vehicle outweigh the positives. My wife and I bought this new and within three months it was in the shop for a loud noise in the engine compartment. After four tries the body shop guy drove it and found the problem. Part of the inside body kit was not put on right at facotry. Not long after that problem was fixed this piece of junk started stalling out on my wife at 60mph. Six times to the dealership, couldn't find problem, I suggested throttle body and sensors. Finally problem fixed when the throttle body and mass air flow sensor got replaced. Will not buy another Chevy.

I love the way my gray SUV changes colors depending on what it is parked next to and time of day. It can be green one minute then brown or black or purple. Just park it next to a large building of the color desired and voila, it becomes that color! If you have ever seen the Nascar # 24 at night, you will see what I mean. I guess GM and Dupont got together on this color so as to give the public a "new" feature to toy with. Now for the bad news. It drinks more fuel than a V-8 ! Had I known this I would have bought a V- 8 for the extra power and torque that. Granted my wife drives it daily on a round trip to work of less than 3 miles a day, but almost zero traffic and few stops. This makes for 9 to 11 mpg!

I thought I would be willing to put up with some problems for the price but I haven't had one! My first scheduled maintenance service was at 25,000 miles and only cost me $66. I love the oil life monitor that comes with the onboard computer, because I do not beat on the vehicle. I've only had to change the oil three times in 25,000 miles. Well, now I know what he means. I cannot get over the comfort and the extra room I have verses my Explorer. The ride is so smooth especially for a 4x4. My Ford Explorer is also a 4x4 and is ridged and rough in its ride. I also love the extra leg room. Here it is two years later and it is only worth $14000 in good condition. Ridiculous! Last American car I will ever own. The interior looks like a first grader made it in a class project. All the weather stripping around the doors is falling off, the radio has been replaced twice( I don't know why I even bothered the thing stunk to begin with), the bumper covers are warping, funky smell from the vents and the cheap chrome sticker that they call a grill is is peeling off. At first I didn't like the TrailBlazer but my husband talked to into it. Now I don't think that he will ever be able to drive it. It is powerful enough to get in and out of traffic but is good on gas if you are taking it easy. I test drove a Jeep (didn't like it, felt drifty) and Explorer (didn't like it, didn't have a third row) as soon as I sat in the TrailBlazer I fell in love. I can't say enough good about it! Although the interior is roomy and comfortable, the electrical problems are frightening. The vibration in the rear end is annoying and Chevrolet's customer service is nonexistent. My Trailblazer has been reprogramed so many times, it should be able to do it itself. Although Chevy says they want to keep me as a customer, they continue to dismiss my complaints about the electrical problems. We have taken it to the mountains of Colorado and it has proven to be a very capable off road machine. Took tough trails like Tincup, Iomogene, and the legendary Black Bear. A little short on ground clearance. I get 22 mpg if I drive it and the wife gets about 17. It is an economical 4wd if you drive it well. This is the 3rd one we have owned. No problems with any of them. Had a couple of recalls on the earlier models, but they had not affected us. Wish they would make it with a small turbo diesel. It would be very economical then. Why is Jeep (owned by Europeans) the only company offering a diesel in a SUV?

I absolutely love this car, it fits me perfectly, it has power, it is SMOOTH riding, the color (blue metallic) is just like my old 76' Camaro which I loved. He got it loaded, raised lettered tires, flashy rims. It has 18000 miles now and NO problems at all. I drove it on a 7 hour road trip, highway, and I used one tank of gas on the open road, which is amazing. Doesn't get that in city, tho. The truck is still in perfect condition, I keep in a garage, it's beautiful. I'm a lucky girl.

This truck has been nothing but trouble. I have had it into the dealer numerous times only to drive it off the lot & find another problem. The transmission & electrical components are the main concern on this SUV.

The Chevrolet Trailblazer is by far superior to the Honda Pilot, Nissan Pathfinder, Nissan Exterra, Toyota 4-Runner, or Ford Explorer. Every person knows deep down that General Motors produces the best automobiles in the world, hands down. My Trailblazer rides just as smooth and quiet as my Chevy Caprice. My Trailblazer will still be on the road 35 years from now, just like my 1970 Chevy Pick-up still is.

Exceptional value with all the bells and whistles. Plenty of power from the 4.2L. Great handling and firm ride. XM/Bose system with navigation well worth the option. Comfort is quite good with power seat, heater and pedals options. 17" wheels gives a slightly better ride than the standard 16". Never had a warranty claim to date with 21,000 miles. Mileage of 15/21.

After driving a 2001 Bravada, I felt cheated when I saw that the Trailblzaer was larger, heavier, and had more horsepower, and the same gas mileage (15/20). I get 16 mpg which I hope improves. As far as comfort goes, the way the driver's bottom seat is bolstered causes an ache under my right thigh. I try to make up for it with the seat controls. It has everything, and I really like it. It would be the perfect SUV for me if the mileage was better.

I love the way this vehicle looks and drives. It's a perfect car for the kids and long trips. Feel safe and confident. Wife fought me on buying it and now she drives it all the time. Gas mileage is pretty bad. I havn't had any problems with drive or performance. Wind noise is bad at highway speeds. Basic stereo and speakers are poor, I upgraded the speakers and that really helped. I have used this truck in some heavy snow this winter, and both the AWD and 4WD worked great. I went after market on a DVD system. Dealership wanted 1800, i got a nice one for under a 1000. Overall I love this vehicle and it looks awsome in maroon.

At 6'7" tall, vehicles with sufficient legroom are impossible to find. Thanks to Edmunds spec. page I was able to compare before heading out to dealerships. Trailblazer has more front seat legroom than my wife's Tahoe. Reliabilty I've experienced with my late model Chevy's is on a par with previously owned Toyotas and Mazdas.

My Trailblazer LT is probably the best quality vehicle I have owned. It is blessed with a V8 which provides smooth acceleration and response. It has a quiet, luxury ride. I love the way it handles. A medium size SUV with 7 passenger capacity....and room for luggage to boot. I haven't found anything to complain about to date. Accessories abound with XM radio, DVD player, and On-star. I especially like the fold-down seats in the second row that allows EASY entrance to the third row of seats.

This SUV is overpriced, and, in my opinion, is one of the most uncomfortable vehicles I have ever been in as a passenger. The seatbelts are crap, and it takes about five minutes to get them to work properly. It is fair (in terms of comfort) when you are the driver. The interior is junk. And, it is worth about half the price I paid for it, and I got the GM discount.

Just turned 5,000 miles. Close to zero defects. TB is fun to drive compared to our minivan. Front seating is comfortable and the ride is good, but it really rolls a lot when hitting bumpy corners. Maybe all SUV's do that. Haven't tried the 4WD yet. Nice to be able to pull into a parking space and not scrape on the barrier or curb. Definitely like better than a passenger car. Mileage running about 17 mpg as advertised in the city, but at least that weight provides some safety (as do the side airbags).

I spent several months looking at toyota pathfinder and nissan sentra. I am over six feet and found in both cars the seats bottoms too small and did not support me comfortably. The nissan requires premium fuel to get maximum horsepower. I just about quit looking for a comfortable suv 4x4. In desperation I decided to look at Chevy Trailblazer. Did not really want to given history of Chevy reliability for many of its cars. Bought it at Performance Chevy(great dealer and price). Mileage: 13-15 in city and 19-24 highway with reg gas. I get 16 mpg with mix.No problems except one sequeak. Torque on low speeds is somewhat weak but great pickup at higher speeds.

I've had 3 TrailBlazers since they were restyled in 2002. This 2004 2wd TrailBlazer LT is the best ever. The 4.2L engine w/3.42 rear gets great fuel mileage on the highway ... 21+ mpg. That's really good since most of my driving is highway. The seats are comfortable, and I have not been back to the dealership since I bought it. I love this TrailBlazer, and may keep it another year and get a 2006 model.

I have driven a 1985 s10 blazer for 7 years and still drive today. So as a chevy man, I went with a trailblazer as my first vehicle, that I purchased on my own. It has good pick up with the Inline 6 engine and quiet. I tow a 17 foot boat and the truck has no problems pulling it. The only problem I had was the fuel/air ratio was off and the dealer fixed at to charge to me. For comfort and style the trailblazer is an excellent vehicle.

We've been thrilled with everything but the gas mileage. We traded in a 2000 2 dr. Blazer LS with a six cylinder engine, and this larger car handles much better than that one did. It has that right on the road "small" car handling feel despite it's size and truck status. I doubt we'll trade this one in, it's a keeper.

Car seats fit very well. The cup holders partially block the power ports when holders are being used. Instrument panel and dash may look less "flashy" but are very simple to read, use and access. Finally, GM is back to putting quality products on the road. I almost bought something else after my experience with my 2000 Blazer. Instead, I gave the TrailBlazer a try, along with two comparable competitors. The TrailBlazer was a much smoother ride and had more comfortable seating. The gas mileage is typical SUV mileage, but there is lots of room and even though I didn't get a lot of "bells and whistles" the 17" wheels were a nice option. The acceleration is a nice improvement over the Blazer and though there have been comments about cornering, I have found no problems and actually enjoy the way it corners. Despite the editors reviews I find it to corner just fine, the steering is great, and the interior is very clean in appearance. Hadan Accord, but felt I needed something larger. So far everything is great. The gas mileage could be better, but with this type of vehicle, you can't have it all. Looked at several SUV's, but they seemed to be designed for soccer moms, I wanted something more masculine looking. Towing cabability is excellent. It doesn't even know the trailer is behind it. The riding height is equal to any of the larger SUV's. Great value for the money. A GREAT improvement over the Blazer of previous years.

This is my second TB so obviously it's a dependable car. We use it for hauling a boat and it works very well. I did find it more difficult to steer than the 2002 model and returned for an adjustment. There isn't one. The exterior and interior is rather plain. It only gets about 18 mpg in the city and at best 21 on the highway.

We feel that the trailblazer is an outstanding multi use car. It has a relativly small footprint for the useable space available. It is a powerhouse as tow vehicle for up to the 5500 lb limit. The design is easy to live with and the fit and finish is way above average.

No HEADROOM! If you are over 6-0, don't buy it. I wanted a Honda Pilot. Good Luck! I had to have a navigation system due to my job. The satellite radio system is worth the money as well as the navigation system. However, if I had taken it for a lengthy test drive, I would have realized that the lack of headroom was a design flaw, not just the way I was sitting in the seat at the time. (And I'm only 6-0 foot tall.) In addition, it is not as "quiet" as the Suburban which is the other vehicle that I own.

Overall this is a great SUV. Everything you hear about the handling is somewhat true. After all, this is a SUV and not a sports car. As for the Fuel economy I think it does fairly well. I am averaging about 18 to 19 mpg and that is in mixed driving. That is better then most SUV's with the same horsepower and torque. So far the things that have got to me about this truck are the Cup holders and the Floor storage compartment. Cup holders are in a bad place for the A/C controls. The Storage Compartment Tab broke the first day. Those are two minor things that I can over look for the value I got in return.

I drove a 2002 Blazer for about 2 years and was pleased with the performance of that vehicle. When the need arose for a 4-door vehicle in our family we chose the Trailblazer based on the performance of the 2002 Blazer that never gave us one ounce of problems the entire time we owned the vehicle. The Trailblazer screams comfort. I would even say it is comparable to a Cadillac that I once owned. THIS IS A NICE RIDE!!!!!!!!!!

I'm happy with this suv.The front seats could be more supportive, maybe similar to the full size truck. Its the right size but I think a 5.3 V8 option in this short box style would suit me and my driving style better.I hate 2500- 3000 rpm revs.It handles and drives good for what it is. Fuel mileage is not what modern tech should be at with this model.Again give me 16 valves and 8 cylinders for less money than a 24 valve high winder. I would buy another for this price point its a good deal.

I love this car. It is very fast with 280 horses under the hood. It's a comfortable ride and unlike the editor's rating I don't think the interior is cheaply made. The only problems I have had is in the guage panel with a grinding noise, and the change oil light is a false reading. Also I do think that the seals around the car for noise protection are installed poorly. Mine keep coming loose and I have to reattatch them. Overall I really love this car and don't even want to trade it in for a bigger one, which I really need.

I have found the Chevy trailblazer to be a reliable car with plenty of room and very reliable in all weather conditions found in the Northeast USA. Although I would have liked more choices for the standard interior I disagree with the critics that it has a "cheap" appearance. One of the reasons I chose this vehicle was for the comfort it offers to individuals like myself who are over six feet tall...I shopped about 20 vehicles in this category (including the ones they "highly" recommend) and found Chevy offered the most SUV for the money.

I was smitten by the exterior look of my white with black trim, Trailblazer LT. The interior dark gray coloring complements the black leather seats very well. As a 6'2 tall person their is enough room for my legs, even as a front seat passenger unlike my 2002 Blazer LS that is very cramped for a tall front seat passenger. The ride is smooth, and quiet. during the first long trip, 354.4 miles, the truck averaged 18.3 miles a gallon. Not bad for a combination of open road, and back country maneuvering.

Great overall. 7000+ miles on it so far. Driving is mostly highway. Good stuff: acceleration, roomy, everything works*, fit & finish, good ride overall. Moderate stuff: Some wind noise at high speeds. No squeaks or rattles. Stereo good but lacks truly crisp sound. Somewhat poor distance reception. Front seats aren't 100% comfortable -- too much lumbar -- and I put 30K/year on vehicle, so that's important. Ride, while good straight ahead and during normal maneuvering, is sloppy in sudden maneuvers, and the vehicle nose-dives during moderate to heavy braking.

Drives good, good visibility, confortable, no too high so runing boards are not needed. I bought it to pull my bass boat and drive to work. I pull my 18' bass boat with no problems. Power is great and no spinning pulling out of the ramp like my chevy c1500 two wheel drive pickup did. I don't even have to put it in 4 wheel drive. Gas millage sucks, two trips to the lake during a tank of gas and millage drops to 14 mpg. If I don't pull my boat I will get 17-18.

Great experience with my Trail Blazer since new. It takes a bit of getting used to the over responsive steering and a 4X4 service light that comes on for no reason, thus causing the 4 wheel drive to be inoperative until the ignition is turned off and on. Then all is fine again. I have found that the best gas for MPG and power is Amoco silver. 17 in town and 22 on the highway. After 5 failed back surgeries this is the most comfortable vehicle I have been in in over 7 years. Plenty of interior room and a beefy exterior. Removing the cross bars on the luggage rack improves the gas mileage and quiets wind noise from the top.

2 Months after purchase already hearing wind noise around windows. Totaled out 9 months after purchase in major accident and no airbag deploy (front or side) which was a key buying point. Investigation by GM said airbags shouldn't have deployed, I beg to differ, motor sitting on frame after accident. I guess only a head on collision would deploy airbags.

In the past year It's seen the dealers service department 5 times and today it's going on 6 because the left brake light went out on a truck that's 1 year and 3 months old.We bought the truck NEW! The first 2 times were because the key would get stuck in the ignition. Then they "FIXED IT" Then it happened a 2nd time. After that the driver door handle trim was falling off. About 2 months later the rubber trim around the license plate started to go underneath the plastic part. Then recently the A/C wouldn't kick on untill I turned off the A/C and turned it back on. The dealer said something had broken inside but they were able to fix it. We'll see.

This a great SUV for the money. If you don't need the extra space of a Tahoe or Suburban, then this is a truck for you. It has a great stable ride with plenty of power for this size SUV. MPG is not great but is average. My complaint is the wind noise around the doors. This a very quiet SUV around town with little road noise but at highway speeds and on windy days, the wind coming in around the seals is irritating. Hopefully a fix is in the works for the '04's.

Rear seat is cramped with car seats (I am 6'2"). Rear hatch lacks rigidity and I fear will become more loose and problematic. Quiet, smooth ride and powerful engine/drivetrain combo. Still, sometimes, the shift from R to D gets lost and takes longer than necessary to engage-this feels sloppy.

The Trailblazer is a far superior vehicle to the Honda Pilot, which we also considered. The performance is much better at a sacrifice of some fuel economy, but we still get nearly 22 mpg on the highway. Once we got the quirks worked out of options like the automatically adjusting mirrors and memory seat, we have had no problems with the Trailblazer. The Bose sound system should be heard to be really appreciated. We use this vehicle for long road trips and we tow it behind our motorhome.

My 2004 Trailblaizer gives the ride of a full sized vehical. The interior is well liad out for convients as well as hardee look . The third row seat is perfect for children so they will have their own space. It's not to bad for the parents either. Iam very pleased with the sturdyness of my vehical. Last month my wife was hit in the passenger door and rear door by a 99 accord . The accord was totaled . The trailblazer was driven away with very little damage. My seven yearold dauther was sitting in the seat where the vehical was hit and was not hurt.So I like the look ,the way it drive and all the extras but I love knowing that my family is safe.

Just bought a new 2004 LS after 3 years of a Durango. List $31,600... cash price after incentives: $24,500. Love its drive, much smoother than Durango. Disagree with Edmunds criticism of steering. Very handsome and comfortable. Mileage much better than Durango, pickup very sufficient... nice to be back to 6 cylindars with gas so high. Size, drive and handling perfect. Got Burgundy color and compliments on its appearance. Good tight vehicle with feel of reliability.

The staff at Yeomans was wonderful in helping me buy my first car by myself. My first trailblazer was a 2002 and now have a 2004. I love the way it drives and the comfort. The only downfall is the gas mileage. The 2002 got about 16 mpg city where the 2004 only gets about 14 mpg city.

I went from driving a Nissan SER to the Trailblazer and I was surprised at how well it handles. I even test drove a Xterra before my Trailblazer and found the Trailblazer's ride to be smoother. I feel safe in the Trailblazer because of it's wide wheel base. The gas mileage is good on the highway, not so good in the city. I also get better treatment at the chevy dealership than I did at the Nissan dealership and there are times when that makes a world of difference.

We have an 03 LTZ package and its one of the best vehicles we have ever owned. We looked at Mercedes, Lexus 300, Infinity QX4, Ford Limited, and Acura MD. The Chevy was easily the best vehicle out there in our opinion. The second to last vehicle we drove was the Infinity, which was very nice,, and the sales staff was much better then and Chevy dealership we had been to, we were ready to buy Infinity, but we waited to drive the LTZ to be able to compare all, and we are glad we did.

This vehicle is absolutely fabulous. I love the powertrain as the Vortec 4.2L I6 really moves. It betters Ford's V8 in the Explorer. Tows very well, even with the 3.42 gear ratio. People knock the interior but I like the simple style of it. Its functional and easy to use. The size is perfect and it handles everything I throw at it. Great for trips and day-to-day driving. Overall fabulous vehicle. Highly recommend.

This vehicle was great the first few months of ownership, but as time progressed my transmission started giving me problems. A few trips to the dealership for service and they found nothing wrong. Then the electrical systems completely gave out. After that was fixed, I found out by being pulled over that the vehicle's brake lights weren't working. Needless to say, I no longer own a Chevy. My 2003 Trailblazer is quiet and confortable to drive. However it can be sluggish thru turns, and gas mileage is disappointing. Even though it does better than Dodge Duragos' V8, I feel Chevys' straight 6 engine would perform better than the 15 mpg I'm currently getting. Still, I'm happy overall with this SUV, and, so far, no service costs.

Horsepower and torque exceed others in its class. I took a Pathfinder owner for a ride and he agreed that the T'Blazer had more kick than his truck. I have a black T'blazer with the deep tint package and I get a lot of questions asking me what kind of truck I have. That is something that a Ford Explorer owner will never get!

I have driven Suburbans for 30 years and have finally downsized to trailblazer. The 2004 is my second one, as I had a 2002 before. I absolutely LOVE my car! I have moved kids to and from college with room to spare and the improvements since the 2002 (easier seat collapse, seat heaters, better seatbelts, XM radio to name a few) make it a pleasure to drive! Just show me the road.

I've wanted to buy an SUV for the past 5 years and I finally found one that I absolutely love. I have a 2003 Trailblazer LT (4wd, 4 door). I purchased it in 8/03 and so far I have approximately 3700 miles on it. We have had a rough winter on Long Island so far this year and I felt very safe driving my SUV in the snow. It's got a great ride and is very comfortable. I've always owned small to mid-sized cars. I'll probably never buy a car again!

My Chevy Trailblazer has plenty of pick up and passing power I love the power. This is a very fun vehicle to drive; I took this SUV on a trip that was about 1600 miles round trip, it average about 21.97 mpg on the highway and about 14 to 16 in the city, I think that great mileage for a truck with that kind of power. It has a very soft ride for a SUV. The seat can be a little more supportive but they are fairly comfortable. This is a very reliable vehicle I have 20K on it right now. The crap that they say that the ford explorer handles better is not true my son has a 2002 ford and my trailblazer is faster and handle a lot better than his ford explorer.

I just traded my Honda CRV-EX and boy am I glad I did.The Trailblazer has lots of nice convenience features (auto headlights, dual climate control, entry lights, etc...) It is very quiet and smooth. My parents both have back problems and are thrilled with the ride. The gas mileage is decent for the power under the hood. My first tank got exactly what the sticker says which is more than I can say for the Honda that never got the stated City mileage even on the highway. This is a nice SUV. With the incentives and a dealer that's willing to make a deal you can get a lot for your money. I traded the CRV I'd only had 6 months and I'm very happy so far.

I have dreamed of having an SUV since they exploded on the market. My husband was against ownership due to roll-over accidents. Market improvements and common sense driving have decreased the number of reported accidents. My christmas present to myself was a 2004 Trailblazer and I am totally in love with it. My husband has even fallen in like with it since he's had one available to drive.

I purchased my Trailblazer a month ago after much research and contemplation on just the right new car. My husband and I chose the trailblazer both for its looks as well as its reliability and quality in performance. I have not regretted our choice even once. I feel much safer in my trailblazer and enjoy every moment in it!I recommend the Trailblazer without any qualms.

As an ex-Tahoe owner I really like this Trailblazer. I felt the Tahoe was way over priced so I took a look at the Trailblazer. In my 3rd week of ownership and love it more and more every day. The ride is wonderful and the engine is very powerful. The inside is very quiet. The only thing I don't like is the seats. There is no support on the sides and they sit kind of high and are not very soft. Other than that this was a very good choice.

Overall, very pleased with my purchase experience and the vehicle's performance. This was my first time buying a new car through "Internet/Fleet" sales. Initially a bit suspicious of everyone in the building being a "Fleet sales manager." It was nice to be able to compare selling prices from multiple dealers at one time, making them compete with each other, and putting the shoe on the other foot for a change. Vehicle styling and performance generally exceed expectations. Gas mileage is a bit disappointing, but within the range of comparable models. The interior appointments are very "plastic" and tend to seem somewhat "cheap" feeling.

Also own a 98 Expedition. TB is much easierr to handle in the city vs. Expy. Gas mileage could be better, but both 02 and 04 TBs are extremely smooth and quiet.

Over the last seven years, I have gone from a Suburban to a Venture van, and now to the Trailblazer. The Trailblazer is definitely the better one for my money. It has the solid feel and comfort similar to the Suburban without the tank-like response. It has a sportier appearance while still giving me plenty of cargo room and better economy. It's a keeper.

The roadside assistance program contracted by G.M. sucks. Within one week the service engine soon light came on and roadside assistance stranded me 1600 miles from home over a weekend with inaccurate information confirmed by a local dealership and G.M.. Engine ran hot 3 times following reprogram of computer. The fan clutch had to be replaced. All these problems within 2 weeks of purchase and the most depressing part is General Motors refused to provide assistance in this matter. They left me to deal with a third party contractor who could care less whether I was satisfied or not with my new vehicle. What ever happen to customer service?

Our trailblazer has been back to the dealer several times for numerous reasons. The computer wouldn't reset the mirrors when I went to drive the car after my husband...the windshield wipers come on at random, just once to show us they will work should we need them...the rear door handles broke...and just last weekend it was in because the fan clutch had to be replaced. And to think we've only owned it a year. My dad has one for a company car and my aunt bought one for herself and they both have had NO problems with theirs.

The AC has been replace (front and back, the windsheild wipers went out in a torrential downpour, the starter has been replaced, the 4 wheel drive LOW engaged by itself while I was driving. Rides great on Highway even with 6-7 passengers. ^ adults can travel in comfort. AC trouble 3 times but may be finally fixed with new switch design from GM. Disappointing fuel mileage put I guess the 270 HP engines is the reason. We get about 12 in town and 18 on highway. Excellent large family hauler if you don't want the larger suburban.

I TRADED IN A GRAND CHEROKKE LIMITED ON THIS TRAILBLAZER, IT SURE FEELS GOOD TO GET BACK INTO A CHEVY. NOTHING BEATS THE PERFORMANCE OR RIDE OF THIS SUV. I AM VERY IMPRESSED!

THE RIDE IS COMFORTABLE. IT HANDLES WELL AND IS HAS GOOD SUSPENSION. ALTHOUGH i HEAR THE ENGINE REVS MORE WHEN THE WEATHER IS HOT AND THE AIR CONDITIONING IS ON. GAS CONSUMPTION IS SIMILAR TO MY OLD 97 CHEVY BLAZER.

After driving the trailblazer for 4 months now, I have found virtually no problems with engine, interior, or exterior. It is definitely a fun to drive vehicle for long trips as well as everyday driving.

I love my trailblazer

Compared to other models no other can compare. The design, performance, dependability, and comfort are wonderful. I was lucky enough to buy the vehicle from a superb dealership. Dan Perkins Chevrolet... My salesman Jack DiNuzzo Jr was very knowledgable and I got the best price up front. If you are considering a trailblazer go for it and stop by DAn Perkins in milford CT.. I would recommend asking for Jack DiNuzzo JR

Disapointing

Everything about this truck is great, including the experience we had with Todd at the dealership. It has all the features & comfort you'd want in a car but in a truck !! We looked at many SUV's before buying, once we test drove the trailblazer - - it was sold.

Great vehicle

I had $30+K to spend on the Japanese SUVs look all to foo foo and fancy. I wanted an SUV not a glorified minivan like the Acuras and Hondas...I looked at the ford, but for some reason its shape didn't catch me. I liked the GM SUVs (my dad has a 2002 Envoy). With the power it has and the features it comes with, it has what the fake SUVs have also and then some in regards to power. Plus it rides on a true SUV platform not a retorfitted minivan platform. On the downside, fit nad finish is still subpar. Overall, I have owned in for a few weeks now, and I love it.

Just got it and love it...The foreign SUVs just look wayyyy to overdone and almost clownish...This is a truck/ SUV the way it was meant to look and be.
