I have owned 2 of these cars, I bought a 2005 brand new it had 7 mi on it. It lasted until 2015 when the transmission went out at 215K miles. Now that I'm retired and not commuting 60 miles a day I decided to buy another one. I now on a 2004 Base with the sports appearance package that had 72,000 mIles (now 77,820) from the original owners. These cars are very reliable, all I did in the '05 was oil changes, tune ups, fuel filters, pretty much preventative maintenence. The only issue with these cars that I have is the transmissions. Around 75,000 miles it begins to slip gears (not skip) all it needs is the solenoids need replaced. I did it on the 2005 and I'm planning on doing it on my current 2004 here soon along with a flush, filter change, and fill. I get excellent mileage I can get 22-25mpg with mixed driving and on the recent 500 mile round trip I took to Milwaukee with 100% highway driving with the cruise on 65 I got 30.4 mpg. The ride is wonderful, my wife has a 2013 Nissan Sentra and I can't stand it, it may get wonderful gas mileage, but the ride is harsh and it's very small for my long legs I can't get a good seat adjustment. I assume take the Impala. You can buy these for cheap with around 150K miles for about $2500.00, these are definetly worth the money and are almost bullet proof except for the transmission & lower intake gaskets. If you want a nice reliable car that does decent on gas and is minimal on repairs if maintained, then look for one of these, if they were decently taken care of, you can have a wonderful car for a decent price. Even my 2005 wasn't badly priced when it was brand new (around $21,500)

I absolutely love this car to death.

I absolutely love this car. For a 2004 and for when my husband and I purchased it in 2013 it's an absolute value. We got it with about 145,000 miles on it. We've had to do some minor repairs on it but that's about it. Great car overall. Corners well, drives great, runs great, and the supercharger tops it off! I can get from the beginning of a freeway entrance ramp at 0 and be at 100 by the end of it even on a short ramp. I love to drive this car and I want to get another one eventually. I highly recommend the impala cause they last through everything as long as you take great care of them.

I have a 2004 Chevy Impala LS performance is great, but a few problems so far. Bought at 109,000 miles but when it rains outside it somehow creates a small puddle in the front passenger side floor. Also hesitates to start after i get gas, and trembles sometimes when i start it. But i still love it strong and powerful engine, and usually gets me where i need to go.

I bought this car used on the last day of 2007; it had 75000 miles on it. In the past 110,000 miles/~8 years of ownership this has been a very reliable car. It consistently gets 28MPG on the highway. It has a smooth ride, and the seats are quite comfortable. The driver's side has adjustable lumbar support. The controls are all easily reachable while driving. Handles in the snow like a dream. I have replaced the battery once. I have just put the second set of brakes on it about a week ago. At 185000 miles it still does not burn any oil. It is quiet when driven down the interstate. The trunk is cavernous. Plenty of room for rear-seat passenger - my 6'5" son has ridden back there when he has visited. Good visibility. It has started every time I have turned the key - except that one time I had to replace the battery. I only hope that every car I buy is as faithful to me as this car has been. Chevy got this one right! The headlights got foggy from age/weather and so I decided to replace them. What an easy job that was. 15 minutes total, and that includes upackimg the lights. A single clip holds the headlight to the car.

Ok there were a few problems to the build. there was a design flaw that allows water to go from the front of the car by the hood, to the back passenger side. The amp power cord splits into 2 between the front and the rear seats. and the water corrodes that. so you have to fix that, also the front always scrapes when I go up on something. other than that its a really good car nice and roomy inside too. "I have a 6'5" cousin that wanted to buy my car." It has a lot of torque too, you just floor it and you can feel it just kick in a few seconds later.

I have never owned a better car. I fell in love with my impala the second I drove it. Their not joking when they say "torquey v6". Its definitely got power to it, with a nice little intake rumble as a bonus! I never had any major problems with it. Everyday wear and tear such as transmission fluid changes, brake rotors and pads, and one of my bulbs went out. I was always working on my previous cars whether it was a valve cover gasket, tie rods, struts, water pump, alternator, etc. This car needed nothing! I bought it at 224,000 miles, and drove it to 261,000 miles, and it never gave me a single issue. Every time I stuck the key in the ignition, it was ready to go! 10/10!!!!

We bought this car used in 2012 with around 55K miles, and have only had a few minor issues which are to be expected. The front bench seat has helped when the kids friends are over, and the trunk space fits everything we needed it to for a long vacation. Excellent in all weather, great comfort, and a great value, it even survived a fairly serious accident and was able to be completely repaired - a great solid GM car like all my others have been!

I have had to replace the battery 2 times in 9 years I've had this car. I attribute this to the difficult climates of the Las Vegas summer (116 daytime highs) and the Reno Winters it has had to endure (7 degree mornings). Two water pumps, and two fuel pressure regulators (one of which was due to a defective replacement part). Other than that, it's spoiled me as it doesn't leak anything, runs smooth, and has me expecting it to start reliably. I also put a set of Michelins on it at 30000 miles. First car I bought with my wife the year our baby daughter was born (new). Hope I can keep it going like my wife's 73 Cougar.

I bought this car from my dad, with nearly two-hundred thousand miles on it. Granted, he treated that thing well, but it's still rolling like new. The only problems it's had was a broken fuel gauge and a warped rotor.

Where do I start? Bought it with 28K miles in 2006, and sold it for junk last week. Passlock problems, oil in the coolant, gauges that are all over the map. People who seem to know what they're talking about say the 3.4 engine is the problem...that the other engines are fine. But before dying, my children referred to this car as the 'Adventuremobile' because more often than not a trip in the Impala was an adventure. Stay away from the 3.4 engine!

I got this car used with 40k. The ride is smooth and you don't feel the bumps unless they are huge. The engine is underpowered for the car at only 180 hp. The seats are comfortable but the middle seat connects to the driver seat which is stupid. The interior is very boring and cheap with cheap plastics and no features, it came with a tape player, so I had to get a CD player. The exterior is nice, esp. the tailights, the paint has a nice shine. The trunk is huge, so you have lots of room for things. Reliable, starts up 1st try. Routine maintenance, wear an tear. The brakes are bad, put hard on to stop, and need replacing often. Other than that turn signals, rack/pinoin lubricating, muffller

My dad drove this car on a 30 or so mile comute everyday untill i got it in January of 2011. The Impala was handed to me and i expected a little out of it but it has done so much better then i expected. This last winter i was busting drifts with it that trucks couldn't get through! Decent gas mileage the only complaint is i took out the head unit to instal an after-market one and boy was it a mess. We had to get it profesionally done there were so many wires. Great car and i easily recomend it!

I bought a used 2004 chevy impala at 30,000 miles or 50k 4 years ago and never got stranded or experienced any issues with it besides wear and tear. I am now at 112,000 miles or 187k on it and it still runs like new and still great body no rust. I live in Ontario, Canada and I have done plenty of highway with it including a trip to British Columbia and Oregon Coast with it 2 summers ago and plan to do another trip to California with it soon... I have to say the only issues I have got were little things before such as traction control and abs of course, but that problem went away last summer when I replaced the wheel bearings because the TC and abs have sensors on the bearings.

I've been blessed with the opportunity to drive multiple cars ranging from a 7 series BMW, a Cadillac Eldorado, and multiple chevy's. I love my chevy as a courrier I travel about 8 times more than the average person. Bought the car in 2007 with 50,000 miles and here it is three years later and I have over 194,000 on it. Every day I get in and it cranks right up regardless of what may be going on with it. I have had to make the obvious repairs to do wear and tear but I can tell you this, if you take care of your car it will take care of you.

Very good Car.

I Owned this 2004 impala for 2 years now, My Parents bought it for my Dad to use at around 50,000 miles, then at around 85,000 they gave it to me. It is the best first car i had. I love the design, I just think the interior doesn't look as good as the exterior, as well as those dreadful body moldings, I prefer for it to be body colored like the LS package, but oh well.. Good car to be honest.

I bought a 2004 Impala with 75K. A base base model but it has ABS and traction control. I get 26-27 mpg (80% hwy; 20% city). It's roomy, the trunk is enormous, it rides nice and hasn't given me any trouble in the 10 months and 19k miles I have owned and driven it. It will not raise your pulse with excitement, but it is a dependable driver with plenty of room and great mpg for its size. I have achieved over 30 mpg highway over a tankful of gas in the summer with the a/c on.

We have a 2004 Impala that my wife bought new. It is a 3.4, but is loaded with the Sport Appearance Package, Sunroof, Aluminum Wheels, etc. We're up to 94,000 miles. All we've ever fixed was the water pump, replace the battery, and tires. Otherwise, it has been dead reliable, and serves us very well. It looks as good as it did the day we bought it inside and out. We just bought a new Impala to replace it, but the old one was so good, we decided to keep it as a second car.

I purchased this vehicle brand new with on 26 miles on. I had all maintenance performed at the dealership & still do. At 70, 000 miles the vehicle started experiencing problems with the ABS & Traction Control while turning or slowing down at low speed. Also the instrument cluster stopped working i.e. speedometer, thermostat gauge, engine Rpm monitor. I had the thermostat replaced under warranty. GM should invest in better parts for a more reliable vehicle. Other than that I travel daily through 3 cities & the veh gets good mileage on the hwy.I would purchase another one only if GM modified their parts! This is the 2nd GM veh I have owned both brought new with the same problems, no more!

Chg the coolant apx every 50- 70K & it just keeps running. Avg hwy mpg dropped to 28.5 so I changed the plugs (iridium) & wires ( Borg Warner Select) & I'm back to 34 + Chg the oil & rotate tires every 10K. Use quality parts & regular service intervals.

The security light comes on when I try to start it and it won't let me start for 10-15 minutes. It has never left me stranded and gets 30 mpg. Driver seat has no lumbar support. Heating element in driver seat went out at 55K.

Most of the variations of the impalas I've driven have been very good and dependable. The one I have just bought recently seems to be very dependable. It has been well maintained other than rock chips all over the hood, (former owners lived on a dirt and gravel road). It has a lot of miles, mostly long distance highway travel. The paint seems to be original and other than being enamel instead of lacquer, it has a quality paint job. The interior is very pleasing to the eye, except for the carpet. The exterior and steering wheel that should be a dark Gray or black color. I'd buy all I could find of them if I could afford to (most would be used for passenger transportation in a shuttle business).

Owned the vehicle for 4 years. Bought it with 29,000 miles on it; traded it at 90,000 miles. Great 1st two years of ownership. Comfortable back seat, great on long trips, liked the exterior styling. Interior did not hold up. Seat material started looking like an old sweater, paint on interior controls faded away, front seats squeaked endlessly etc. Started getting nickeled and dimed with 150-250 dollar repairs around 70,000 miles; tranny went out at 90k. Bottom line, the car seemed to age very poorly. Would not recommend it as a used car purchase.

I have owned many different vehicles over the years, but my 2004 Impala that I own now has been wonderful. It had 51K miles on when I bought it, but it has been completely dependable. Living in Minnesota with the sometimes extreme weather conditions, it has always started on the first try and gotten me thru to where ever I was going no matter what the road conditions. I have driven it to Florida 4 times and the gas mileage averaged out at 39mpg on the open road! I have had to replace the water pump, tires, a gasket, and the dash computer chip; but I love this car. I hope to have many more years with my Impala! I know I can depend on it.

We had purchased new in 2004, On the most part I like my Impala. Drives on the highway very well. The interior could be better designed IE:parts used fill cheap, Cup holders are on the arm rest in between driver and front passenger placing a cup of coffee is very awkward, Interior lighting is not placed to help you see, Map lights are built into the mirror and you have to lean forward to see the map. The radio has problems with the reception, I am told it is because of the back window defroster. The suspension could have been better designed We are on our third set of tires, Second set of rotors front and back, Replaced the heater blower, Alignment each time the tires were changed.

I bought my 2004 Chevrolet Impala in 2008. I was reluctant to buy it because of the intake gasket problems on the 3.4 litre V6 engines GM made. So far I haven't had any problems with it. What I love about this car is its simplicity, and comfort. It has responsive acceleration, and the controls are simple and easy to use. The steering is tight, and the car overall is solid. I bought it with 57000 miles on it. I now have 98000 miles on it. I have been impressed so far.

I purchased this car about 4 years ago. It had about 35k on it and I purchased an extended warranty for another 35k. I have a black one and the paint job is really cheap looking. IF you have tinted windows, you can't get good reception from the AM radio. After owning the vehicle 1 year we had to replace the radiator, fortunately it was covered under the warranty I had purchased, otherwise that would have cost an about $1500.00 to fix. I can hear a clunk in the steering column, which might be a lose linkage somewhere, but disconcerting. The vehicle and plummeted in value since I purchased it.

We loved the car overall until the last year. It was a lease car. Most of the time when we got the car up to 50mph the car began to shake and lunge and lurch like it was hurting for gas. We took the car into several car dealers to fix it and they thought we were crazy. We did find one dealer that could see it, but was never able to get it to do it at the right time for the computer to tell there what to fix. Well, after the lease we were sad to give it up, but some poor person probably has it now.

I am amazed to see how many people on here are having the same problems as I am and there aren't any recalls. I too have had issues with a clunky front end, my abs light coming on at random, and kicking in at random, my traction control light comes on and kicks in also, I now have to turn it off before I start driving because it was kicking in at dangerous times. I have replaced my speedometer. The lights on my rear view mirror work at some moments and not at others. The car is comfy but the pros will never outweigh the cons in this car. I am now considering a Honda or Hyundai or something foreign. I will never buy an impala again. Horrible!

Got it used w/24k on it. Since I have had it I replaced two wheel hubs ($400 each), replaced instrument cluster assembly ($500... gas gauge had stopped working), replaced two heater cores ($900 each), replaced heater control head so the heat could actually get out the vents ($500), ABS light coming on ($1000), replaced steering shaft (warranty), ETC!!

Speedometer went out at 66,000 miles ($379.93). Light went out on climate control, have to replace whole unit ($336.60). Sometimes windshield wipers don`t work at all. Or won't shut off. Service Traction System light comes on occasionally, then does upon restarting. It seems to me that there is some kind of electrical issue with these cars, as many people experience the same problems.

I have had issues with the security sensor going hay wire, I have installed 2 water pumps in the past 2 yrs, breaks are an annual thing because they are being warped somehow, my battery keeps dying due to some kind of short that has not been found so I had to purchase a battery charger and charge my battery every 2 weeks to make sure I can crank the car and now my transmission is slipping and slamming when I reverse. This car rides smooth however between my annual expenses I have had more bad days then good with this car. Once I get the transmission fixed I am getting rid of this car unless I can get rid of it before then.

I bought this car in 2004 new with maybe 500-1000 miles on it. They had to replace the dashboard, carpet, starter and thermostat while it was still under warranty. Now that it is not and I own it, it is falling apart. I have just replaced the thermostat and now they are saying it may need a new radiator.

Security Light comes on and car won't start for 10 min. Started once a month now 2 times a day. Talked to Chevy but no solution and no hope for a recall. Looked on-line for solution and found many people with same problem. They only have temp solution for $800 or more. This problem is a safety issue and needs to be recalled. Are you listening Chevy?

The car had a nice feel like a older full sized car. The quality was horrible i have never had a car that required more repairs and was on a downhill slide then that car. Fuel regulator, wheel studs, water pump, transmission, etc... The resale value was horrible, just recently got rid of it and purchased a nissan.

Bought the car new. 3000 miles ac compressor froze. 2 steering racks replaced before 55,000 miles. Manifold gasket let go at 60,000 miles. Speedometer sometimes will not work9 (no safety issue here). Now the transmission will occassionally slip when taking off.

04 impala LS/3.8L/90k miles. CClunking in steering wheel, ABS/traction control lights coming on at random, ABS pump coming on at random, cruise control malfunction, loud whining when I turn. I replaced all rotors and brakes, replaced struts, new tires replaced front wheel hubs, alternator, "greased intermediate steering shaft" and aligned wheels. Car still has a slight shake when I drive, still getting the ABS/TC light, ABS pump still engages AND still a light occaisional clunk in the steering column. even went back myself with a multi meter to check each hub individually to see if a sensor failed and check for bad wiring. Checked out OK. I found the problem. All substandard components.

We've had our Impala since we bought it new in 04. It is fast, smooth and comfortable, the most comfortable car I've ever ridden in. Seats six with an enormous trunk. We have had absolutely nothing but oil changes, and just recently brakes. I love this car and expect to get another 160,000 miles. We have the Bose stereo and it's the bomb!

After driving a 97 Lumina over 110,000 miles with absolutely no trouble and excellent gas mileage I decided to try the Impala. So far this car has also been trouble free. Gas mileage is much better than the EPA rating. I've owned a Honda Accord which was a good car but I did have a few minor problems with. As long as I keep getting trouble free Chevys I'll keep buying them.

Bought the car with 36,000 miles. Rides Nice. Handles good. At 66,000 miles now and so far we had to replace intake gaskets (oil leaking into antifreeze) $650, water pump$200, steering $138 ( clunked when turning) and now p. C. M module in transmission $779 (shifting hard when cold or going up hill) and a wheel bearing! By reading comments from other people, all have had the same issue. Some not. Wow the impala use to be bulletproof

My mom bought this car new in 2004 for a really good price. It's a sturdy, good running, reliable car. However, the quality over the years has been terrible. The gas gauge went, the speedometer went, and the temperature gauge went. These I never got fixed because it would cost 450 dollars each to fix. Also, a security sensor went bad, and the car wouldn't start. That I had to pay for. It cost 450 dollars to fix. Also the dim switch went bad on the headlights. Had to get that fixed. Another 450 dollars!! This all happened by 80,000 miles. The gauges went bad at about 40,000 miles. This car was the worst in quality I have ever owned! Other than those things, the car is fine. It runs good.

Time to fix the Impala again : (

The Chevrolet Impala, Hmm hmm hmm. Where do I start. The exterior design is boring to say the least. The interior design even more boring. The heater/AC vents have all broken on my car (Thanks GM for really putting some effort into designing this car) I bought this car used in 2007. Right after I bought it the AC broke and the water pump went out. About $500 in repairs. What else is wrong with this car that shouldn't be: The cigarette lighter went out, the rear defroster went out, the back right window stopped rolling up, I had to replace the front wheel bearing assembly. Ohh and now it makes a loud annoying squeaking sound coming straight from the serpentine belt.

I purchased my 04 Impala brand new and the first year of owning the vehicle I thought it was the best car I ever owned. Year 2 I had to replace the speedometer and the radio, year 3 tie rod, rear hub assembly. Year 4 I had to replace the water pump, rebuild the transmission, and now I am having issues with the coolant system! All in all a major disappointed with GM products, especially a vehicle with a $26,000 sticker price! This is my second Impala, as I had one in 2003 that was wrecked, and I thought this car would last 10 years with no troubles! Boy was I surprised!!!! Chevrolet you need to get it together or I'll have to consider buying a Toyota or Nissan!

This car is pretty nice. I have the SS super charged. It's a lot better on gas mileage than I expected. It didn't even take a half a tank of gas to get from where I live to my family's house, like it normally does on the Toyota Camry I had before I traded it for this car. It seems I got a good deal trading in that old Toyota Camry for this Chevy!

There is nothing more beautiful than an Impala 04! The interior space is perfect and very comfortable. I drove this car for almost three years and never had problems with the engine. I used it for traveling and it was the most comfortable road trip experience driving and as passenger. Even after hitting the 100,000 mile marker, the engine ran smoothly and silently. The Impala is the best car I have ever owned!

I bought this car for 13,000 with 25,000 miles on it. Body perfect, interior perfect. As soon as I bought the car I changed the trannsmission fluid and out and put in synthetic. Flushed out the dex-cool anti-freeze because it is notrieous for gunking up and put in synthetic. I havent had a problem yet. It's very responsive, I installed a KN cold air intake and only run it with 93 octane. This model has the 3.8 l 3800 which is Chevy's most reliable engine ever made, a little bit of care will go a long way.

The 3.4 liter engine has enough get up and go. The interior is roomy and comfortable. I would recommend this car to anyone.

I bought a base impala with a fake rag top which really sets the car off. I always get 33 mph on long trips and 23 in the city. I have a terrible back problem and this car does not hurt me on long trips. Plenty of room inside and the trunk. I was not even a bit hesitant in the purchase. The light driftwood metalic type paint job shines like day one. Love, love, love this car.

Bought this car from my father-in law so the price was right. At 40000 miles I had to replace the water pump. The transmission slams hard between 2nd and third. Steering makes an awful sound (poor lubrication of the intermediate shaft). Trunk freezes shut in the winter and with no handle is almost impossible to open. The security system (passlock) has malfunctioned a few times meaning the car wouldn't start. Brakes warp prematurely. On the up side, the car is comfy and rides well, but steering is vague. Decent power and fuel economy. This was one of Chevy's better cars, and shows why GM is struggling. I have owned a few cheaper imports which have been bullet proof. Time to sell!

Have had very few break downs, only problem have been the brakes but it is not that much of a problem. Also it gets pretty good gas mileage for a 4dr Sudan. Though I found the default radio deck controls kind of confusing at first, as I am use to simpler buttons, but there not that hard to understand.

Been completely satisfied. Only long tripwas to Columbus, GA & back to Pgh area PA. Great gas mileage. Once on the open hiway, I set cruise control on 61 or 62. I do not fight traffic.

Bought the car late 2003. Still have it and am now at 108,000 miles. Replaced the temp gauge at 80,000 miles, brakes at 87,000 miles and had no other major problems until 106,000 miles and then the biggie: Transmission went bad. Had to be rebuilt ($2,000). After that bummer, I have resummed my love for the car. Rides smooth, love the interior room. Not the easiest to handle on curves, but this car will fly! Lots of power, with a hint of a luxury feel. Great for road trips. Could be more sound proof inside, but overall well-built car. Would probably buy another.

Purchased my Impala Oct '04 and it ranks as my best purchase ever. More than 42 years of driving & owning 11 previous cars + 4 or 5 company vehicles. Key points: Fuel economy is outstanding. Who needs econo-boxes? On cruise control at 55 = 35+ MPG all day long. At 60 it gets 31 MPG. Maintenance: This car's been trouble- free for nearly 56,000 miles. A defective dashboard display was replaced at dealer's request and under warrenty early in 2007. I'm on 2nd set of tires and brakes (49K miles). The car's a hoot to drive and the kids in the little imports can't believe the way my Impala handles and outperforms much smaller cars. I'm sold!

This is a fun car to drive. We have had some problems with the engine/SS/fuel injectors. The car is still under warranty. The car begins to sputter driving over 40 mph when you hit the gas peddle. Also, the power steering seems to be going out. Something loose in the column and getting harder to turn when driving slower. Chevy dealers can't seem to find the problem.

While it isn't the Impala of the 60's the 2004 Impala is still a pretty decent car. Solid build structure (withstood a concrete truck backing into front end very well). Fuel economy is not excellent but good for a car this size. No major component breakdowns yet. Just quite a few more minor annoyances. Brake part frequent servicing,a number of worrying, but so far harmless, noises of varying types. Comfortable to drive, reasonable quite ride, good handling. Has been a 7.5 out of 10 on overall satisfaction. Lots of trunk space, especially with fold down rear seats. Standard stereo not outstanding but more than adequate. Exterior finish good to very good. Horn stinks, intend to replace it.

I've owned several cars, and I try to run them all until they give out. I've owned Ford, Isuzu, Nissan and others, but this car has been the best. I drive 70 miles a day round trip and love the handling, acceleration and comfort. Even though others have gotten more MPG, I only get 26 on the highway. Also, if you're over 6ft tall like me, you will love the leg room in both the front and back. The only problem I have with the vehicle is the stereo system. I know people today are into a lot of bass, but I like my sound well rounded. This system puts a too much bass for me, and is difficult to adjust to just the right amount. Minor problem for a great car.

This is our first new car and it has been a horrible car. The motor burned oil for the 1st 10,000 miles when the dealer finally agreed to fix it. The service writers just laugh when the car comes in. GM has even given it an extended warranty because of all the problems. The car is great to drive with all the options when it is holding together. The car was getting 31mpg hwy when they reflashed the computer and now it gets 24mpg and the dealer says that is OK. I am now selling the car. Impalas are great cars. But I won't buy GM for a while until GM and their dealers get it together.

Only normal service issues. Three car seats fit in the back. Cornering has been excellent, expressway driving has been excellent 30+ mpg at 70 mph. Local driving averages 25 mpg. Could use a better sound system.

I pruchased this car with 25,000 miles, and have put 36,000 on myself. The most major repair has been the replacement of lubricant in the steering shaft, cost a whole $100. I am ecstatic with my gas mileage. I drive 500 miles a week, and I average 28 to 32 miles per gallon. Runs smooth with a great ride. Very minor road noise but nothing major. For a car with only 180hp, it does move when you want it to. It has great styling, I love the design of the dash and gauges. The outside has a great apperance and stance. I have added some custom floor mats and upgraded the stereo by a lot. I will be adding tint and rims soon! However, if you're planning on an Impala, get one with an autodimming mirror!

There is little cabin noise, and there is plenty of room for passengers. All of the controls are comfortably placed. In fact, I prefer it to newer models I have driven. (In my opinion the 2006 has a better interior, but worse exterior.) An SS needs to be a V8 rear wheel drive. The 2006 get us SS fans half way there.

I drove an '06 Impala, Accord, Ford 500, Camray, and Altima. When I found this '04 LS with 19000 miles on it sitting in the front row with a $14,900 sticker on it - I fell in love. It has leather, a moonroof and all of the options. Any of the new ones with the same equipment would have run me at leat $12,000 more. I love the car, the ride, the way it looks, the gas mileage and the smell of all of that money in my pocket. If you see an '04 or 05' LS sitting in a lot - take a look and then take a drive. You'll be glad that you did!!! HEY - I LOVE depreciation! If I drive this car for three years I will only lose about $3000 in depreatiation - thank you to person that drove it first!

I love my Impala SS. I've had it for almost 2 years and it still runs like a charm. I've had no problems whatsoever with it. It drives great in rain, sleet or snow. I feel safe driving it in any weather. My three children ages 7, 11, and 12 all fit comfortably in the back seat. My son is 5'6 and has plenty of leg room in the back. They don't even touch elbows! I especially like driving on the highway. This car sure has some "get up and go"! I never worry about playing "chicken" to pass a "Sunday driver". That engine kicks in and I always have plenty of time to pass when needed. Out of the 5 vehicles I've owned in my life, my Impala SS is definitely my favorite!

Overall I would have to say that I do enjoy the car when it isn't back at the dealership getting serviced. I have had problems with the brakes squeeking, rotors going bad, sunroof sticking, and as a result of the sunroof my headliner has been dripping water like crazy. Also the stereo fades in and out. Oh, and "6 speaker system", don't plan on finding the other 2 speakers, there is only 4. The performance isn't what I figured it would be for an SS, but hey can't get everything.

Bought car in Jan of '04 . I have owned Chevys for about 40 yrs and was allways happy with them . However the '04 was noisy from the start. The dealer said it was the tires. They went to Goodyear this year. Changing the tires helped some but road noise is still bad .Windows fog up whenever it rains. I don't think I will be buying another Chevy any time soon. Find visibilty very poor

I have owned my Chevy Impalla SS for over a year now and am in love. This car is almost everything I hoped it would be. It handles like a pro on the express way and can pass just about anything out there. The gas mileage could be better, but being supercharged, its ok with me. I would recommend this car for someone who is looking for affordable luxury with a kick. This car is also very accomidating to teens. the back seat is very roomy and the trunk has pleanty of space for travel.

Overall this '04 Impala is great! It's a good solid car and comfy to drive. Disappointed with fuel mileage. Top mileage for this 3.4L has only been 27.3 MPG. Besides everyday use, I use it to haul kayaks and bicycles . Had spoiler and alloy wheels installed. It has never let me down, though. Had a 2001 base Impala that was horrible. It spent more time in service department than on the road. Feel '04 Impala was overpriced but got a $4000 rebate and good price on trade-in. Yes, I would buy another base Impala. No car is perfect.

I read reviews about the impala and I was couldnt help to notice Cheverolet advertised this large car was best in class gas mileage. So I took it for a test drive and I have been smiling ever since. I am so happy I bought this car and it's alot more than I thought I could afford. The 200 HP 3.8L has some giddy-up and around town and I am still averaging over 28mpg according to the trip computer it came with. The XM package coupled with the 200W stereo make this car a must have for anyone who has drives 15000 a year. Dont take my word for it, you wont believe how far you dollar will stretch.

This car is by far the BEST I have ever owned (Stratus,Intrepid,Corolla,Mustang)! I had waited 2 yrs to purchase an Impala and let me tell you, it was worth the wait! The drive is incredible! So smooth and quiet and the acceleration and cornering is impressive! Gas mileage is great for a larger car (22/32). The interior is full of room and trunk size is amazing. My kids and hubby (big guy!) fit perfectly and comfortably. The stereo has lots of different features (auto volume, radio data system,)and sounds fantastic! This car turns heads constantly (especially when it's clean and BRIGHT red!).

My wife and I bought our 2004 Chevrolet Impala LS on the last day of 2004 and we've been extremely pleased with our purchase. Our other car is a Toyota Corolla so we visited the Chevy dealership with reservations but were quite impressed with the build quality we saw there. Our car has perfectly-aligned, narrow panel gaps, high-quality materials and a very comfortable interior. The 3.8 liter V6 is quiet and strong and provides great gas mileage. My wife loves the heated seats. No other car offers so many features and value for your car-buying dollar and the Camry and Accord can't even come close. You pay for the name with those cars and you pay for a great car with the Impala.

2 "Indy SSs arrived at "my" dealership & I shot over with my driving gloves. I gave a salesman a "serious" 1 hr road test. After the test he said that my reputation had preceeded me & he knew he was in for it when I got behind the wheel. I didn't disappoint him & I bought the "Indy" that day. I'm prejudiced toward Implalas having owned a '01 LS. It was problem free, fun to drive & got a lot of compliments. The '04 "Indy", 240HP supercharged is better. Steering & suspension are tight. Terrific engine response-smooth shifts & the engine wants to pull forever! Beautiful 17" diamond-cut aluminum wheels. The P235/55R17 "W" Goodyear Eagle's & large discs haul it down quickly. It has few negatives.

Just bought this Chevy 2 weeks ago. I deem it the best value you can get at the price I paid -$12,000 with 15500 miles as a former rental. It feels like a big comfy couch inside, like the '90 Lumina. Dummy gauges are abundant because of their "message center" that tells you just about everything you need to know. Big trunk, big bench seat, great stuff. Consumer Reports called the interior "borderline offensive" because of all the plastic, but I say there's nothing better looking and smelling than Armor-All on plastic pieces. If you are entirely utilitarian like me, get this nice family car. The only minus I have is that you need to step on the gas pedal a second before you really want to go

Outside looks great, but that interior..

The Impala SS is an interesting one. On one hand, the exterior changes make this look sporty and aggressive, much better than the base and LS models. The interior needs some of those changes. Decent power, but not what I expected from the supercharged engine. Gas mileage is great for a car this size, and it is very roomy. This is a very well built and solid car. I thought the interior could use several improvements.

This is the second Impala I have owned. The other was a 2001. Needs redesign but this has been an excellent value. I used my GM card rebate to save $2,200 after I made the deal. (You must not carry a monthly balance on your card to save any money). Looking forward to my third. The first Impala had a leaking seal on the front after 10,000 miles. The current Impala has 12,000 miles and has not been back to the dealer except for oil changes

I love this car! I have owned a lot of cars, so it's hard to say this is the best of them, but it is certainly among the best. It is good looking, tight handling, and I drive the base model. The Impala is a lot nicer than the Monte Carlo. It has better gas mileage, more interior and trunk room , rides better, and handles just as well. I was reluctant to buy an Imapla as there a million of them on the road, but now I understand why it is so popular. I think it beats most of the imports too. I also drove one with 110,000 miles on it, and it drove just like mine with 22,000 miles.

We just purchased a new 2004 Chevy Impala base model. We were orginally going to buy a new Honda Accord, however we couldn't pass up the good bargain we got on the Impala. Its sticker price was 21000 dollars, however GM took 3500 dollars off and also we received another discount of 2250 dollars off the 3500. So it ended up that we only paid 14800 for this brand new impala, which we couldn't have gotten a Honda Accord for that. The Impala is a fairly good car. It gets good gas mileage for a large car and is roomy inside. Also has a big trunk! However, I do question the quality of some of the Impala's features. I do feel GM, and all car makers, for that matter, need to improve on quality!

Over all I like this car. I think the outside trim along the doors should be the basic black instead of the same color of the car. When someone hits your door with their door, your paint chips on the trim. Who wants a brand new car with a chip in the door? It made me SICK. MPG was big thing for me, and it does do pretty good. I'm a little disappointed the car doesn't hold it's value. You buy it for 26K and in a year they are selling them for 17K. That alone is enough to make me wish I had bought European. Aside from repair costs I guess.

We bought this 2004 because of the performance of our 2002 Impala, which we intend to keep for many more years! We drive between Arizona and Ohio several times per year. We could not be happier with the comfort, drive, and performance of both the 2002 and the 2004. The gas mileage is far above the listed expectations. Driving 2200 miles each way numerous times has afforded us the opportunity to determine the comfortability of the Impala. The fold down style of the rear seats allows us to haul whatever we need to transport. We have the versatility of a truck with the comfort of a beautiful, well-built automobile.

This car handles with ease. Nice smooth ride. We compared it with the Honda Accord EX-V6. They are almost identical cars, but we saved a lot of money. The Chevy has a longer wheel base for a smoother ride. Love the light beige color interior. We were very surprized at how the domestic cars have improved and with the extended warranty coverage, how can you lose! We were sold on the car after test driving it and comparing it to the Honda Accord. I can see savings in the bank. I like cars that are a little more streamline, therefore Impala LS beat out the rounded, chunky Honda. We have been brainwashed for foreign autos, keeps jobs here in America.

I don't typically keep vehicles very long, an average of 6 months to a year. But this is one that I'm going to have a hard time getting rid of. I bought it while on vacation 2500 miles from home. The Metallic Blue caught my eye, and then next thing I know I'm a new owner. Driving home, I got over 32 MPG, with the 3.8L. Can't ask for more than that!!! It was such a joy to drive that I almost forgot about the rest of my vacation and just went on a road trip. Now after 3 months of ownership, I still enjoy the vehicle as if it was brand new.

Just try it...

don't judge for this car before driving, driving is smooth and powerful, you feel great behind the wheel. i had a nissan altima 2002 and a toyota camry before that, they are not comparable with this car, after hours of driving you still want to go more and more! you never tired when you drive this car. i have my 2003 impala for 2 years and everything still works fine and even better than before! all i know is i don't want to depreciate myself with driving a japanese car anymore.

I bought 2000,2001,2002,2004 and 2004 impalas. I keep the cars upto 32000 miles and then trade in with a new one. Currently, I have 2004 SS and LS. 2002 was in an accident and car was rolled over 2 times over the hill and 17 years old driver walked away without any scratch on the body. Best ride and money worth car is the Impala car.

I've put 2K miles on my LS, and don't know of anything to complain about, and that is unusual for me. I looked at several other cars seriously - a Camry, Lexus ES 330, Buick La Sabre, and also briefly considered the Equinox. The Camry is a like driving a wagon compared to the Impala. The Buick is a good car, but it looks like you have to live in a retirement village to own it. The Lexus was seriously considered, but it would have been over 10K more, and I don't think it is worth it. The Impala definitely has a more comfortablbe seat, and 200 hp is plenty unless you are drag racing. The Edmonds review almost kept me from considering the Impala - don't listen.

Excellent car! We traded a 2001 Saturn L200 for the Impala and it makes the Saturn seem like it was a piece of junk. The car works well, gets great highway mileage and is so comfortable. Test drove an Accord, Outback, Mazda 6, Saturn Ion, Grand Prix, Vibe, Vue and a Rendezvous and the Impala was not only the best riding car we got a fantastic deal on it. Had the car on a decent sized road trip and got 30mpg+.

So for the first time in my life, I actually went out looking for a car, a brand new car. I wanted decent space, comfortable yet competent handling, etc. and I ultimately ended spend 2 months going through all of the local delearships in my area test driving every car in the "Large Sedan" Class. Ultimately it came down to a 2004 Accord V-6, or the 2004 Impala SS. The accord takes forever to downshift (when I press the gas down, I expect the machine to down shift) and the Transmission of the accord was a little less smooth in comparison to the ultra silky performance of the Impala's transmission. In a word overall this vehicle is amazing.

I had never test driven the SS, so when I took it for a spin, I loved the performance and the handling. It is lightning quick, and quite agile for a large sedan.

The Impala SS is a really sharp looking car for starters. Sure, it's a 4 door sedan but, it's not grandma's Impala. Start the engine and you can tell that there's fun going to happen. Nice exhaust tone....and fairly subdued until you punch it and watch the S/C boost gauge; smooth power and torque when you want it. I'm glad that Chevy brought it back.....and you can get one with no options (standard features are plenty for me) for right around 22K, after all the rebates !

Since driveing the 2004 Impala LS, it is a pleasure to drive. The 200 HP engine delivers great performance and is easy on the fuel bill. The transmission is smooth shifting upon excelleration and stopping. The ride is smooth and comfortable. Plenty of desired standard equipment. Recommend power seats, driver and passenger, for a better selection of individual desired comfort. Plenty of room inside and especially in the trunk for transporting cargo. I would compare this vehicle to a Cadillac for a a good deal of less money. Insurance is quite reasonable for a good driving record rates.

No problems so far, good solid car. Larger then the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, plus it comes with a V6 compared to their V4. Big truck, big interior. Fits four adults plus a baby seat with ease. You can put a stroller in the truck and still have room for the groceries. Only gripe, no lights in glove box, under the hood or in the truck.

I am extremly happy with this car . I think it is one of the best produced. Plenty of power ,quite a bit style on the interior as well as the exterior. The heated seats are a big plus and the large trunk is most welcome. The power seat on the passenger side is very helpfull for my wife. The auto dimming rear view mirror is much appreciated as well as the heated outside mirrors. One feature I neglected to get was On Star, the next car will definately have that system. The gas mileage has been in the 29 to 30 mpg on the highway and about 24 in town which is not the best but not too bad. Over all this is a real winner. Very good Dealership!

I bought this car for my wife in January because of its safety rating and that she could easily fit her friends for their frequent outings. It fulfilled all this. The ladies loved their days in it and in the end, the safety rating held up. The car was totaled after just four months. Though the front of the car was taken completely off, there was no damage at all from the windshield wipers back. I just bought her another Impala.

I have not seen any other cars exactly like mine, which makes me even more happy that i didn't get a camry or accord (i see those everywhere). I compared the impala to a LOT of other cars. I narrowed it down to the impala, the '05 altima, and the Mazda 6s. The altima was too expensive, and my wife didn't like it at all. The 6 was a good car, but was kinda' expensive for its size. When i started to consider that i would have the car for about 10 yrs. i chose the impala. Every time i see the other two on the road, i am happy i made that decision.

We just got the car and love the sport appearance package. It looks like an SS without the need for premium fuel and loss of 2 mpg. My kids, one of whom is 5'9" and growing, both fit comfortably in the back seat. Their hockey and baseball bags fit in the large trunk. Gas mileage thus far has been a lot better than the van the car replaced. The sunroof gets high marks with the kids, but I don't like that it flips up and back rather than into the roof as on other GM cars. The seat-cushion length could be a couple inches longer; I have trouble supporting my thighs without playing with the seat positioning.

This is a fabulous car...I am 52 years old and have driven many different vehicles in my young life including Audi's in your five star list. Gas mileage is great, smooth riding, comfortable on long road trips and the compliments I get are incredible. Since the purchase of this beautiful Impala, (mine is black w/tinted windows, leather seats & wood grain interior), I have nearly concluded that I may never change vehicles again...actually I'm considering keeping this one "til death do us part".

The seat is very uncomfortable. There is no lumbar support and I could not recommend this car for long trips. The seat only adjusts two ways: front-to- back and seat-back angle adjustment. The road noise and tire whine were very quiet, even at speeds around 75 mph. Ride quality was acceptable, although many small bumps on the highway that other cars had no trouble with caused the Impala's steering wheel to jerk and jitter. There was ample trunk space and rear seat storage space for my equipment. After a quick trip to the gas station the gas milage was a measly 18 mpg, absolutely HORRIBLE for 100% highway driving.

The Impala is my company care, and I drive alot of miles. The 180hp motor is OK off the line, but far to weak at hiway speed. Just not enough gutts or should I say tourqe to drive with real command. The real dissapointment is the interior. the seat is uncommfortable and none of the arm rests steering wheel or pedals line up right. The interior alignment in not as well thought out as with other cars I have driven. The Impala is not all bad but the important things are off the mark.

The windshield on my car broke a couple of months ago. Whatever glass the factory was using was poor quality. The windshield got a rockchip and it instantly cracked all the way to the edge ensuring repairs were not optional. The replacement that I received didn't have the black dots and now it looks really stupid. There is a very noticable black cord for the lights on the mirror that is very visable now. Having less than 4000 miles on the car I was very disappointed. Also no child locks on the back doors.

Nice car. Ride is a little harsh. Good handling and great gas mileage. Fun to drive, but is not all it should be. See suggested improvements. A little pricey for the SS compared to other makes such as Nissan Maxima, etc.

Finally a worthy Impala

I reserched many new cars but the Impala SS had all the attributes I was looking for. High perfomance, fairly good gas mileage and all the right accessorys. The car has been a joy, I now have almost 2,000 miles on her and I look forward to my commute 1 hour one way instead of dreading it. The Impala is the limited addition so I can't wait to see it in the Indy 500 this May.

I have been very pleased with my Impala purchase. The car is comfortable, has an extremely roomy interior, with leather and full complement of toys, it's a peach.... I could have spent twice as much for a Volvo, but why on earth would I want to do that?! One thing that I do not like is the windshield wipers are too noisy. That definitely needs to be addressed. Other than that, great work Chevrolet! Thanks!

This is the first new car that my wife and I have purchased in 17 years. Our last car was a 1987 Mercury Cougar. We enjoyed that vehicle very much also. I like the ride of the Impala, the seating is comfortable and the view of the dash instruments is good. The car seems to have sufficent power, althought we have not had it in the mountains yet. This is the first GM product that I have owned in many year so time will tell on my continued like or dislike. Currently I am happy with it.

When wepurchased our Impala sedan one month ago, I wasn't to thrilled once the "new car" giddy wore off. I like the suspension but, I noticed there's an annoying ticking sound that comes from the motor. The Impala has a slight rough idle as well. I also noticed that on rainy days the accumulated water around the tail lights area tends to flow back into the trunk space when the trunk is lifted. I like the quietness of the interior and the makeup of the inside but, the quality of the door and dashboard material is very poor and cheap. Overall, I'm happy with the Impala

Being a bigger guy (6'4", 280 lbs) I looked for a car where I could be comfortable. None matched the Impala in comfort, ride, performance, and price. I've got the 3.4 and it is impressive. The mileage is far better than I would have thought possible. It's a quiet ride befitting the large car that it is. The handling is far better than I ever hoped it could be. I've yet to feel body roll in any turn. I've had a couple of times where the 4 wheel disk brakes were needed and I can say they are definitely the way to go. Fit and finish are impeccable. The medium gray metallic shows off very well in sunlight or clouds.

The best phrase to describe the Impala is "Get up & gone". Merging into traffic has been more of an ease. Absolutly no hesitation as far as this car goes; it "rails the highway." The extremely smooth ride and quitness that a luxury sedan has to offer. I love the overall performance and it's style. It is also a great family car with outstanding interior space. In a nutshell, the Impala LS is a fun car to drive at a great cost.

Quality, Reliability AND fun to Drive - what a combo. I am a professional Quality/Reliability Engineer and after 5000 miles this car has NO quality or reliability problems. Acceleration when you want it is great. When you don't want accel car is tame as a kitten. Handles well and still has a smooth ride. I owned a Lincoln LS and this beats it hands down for 1000's less.

The best thing about this car is its ability to allow me to relate to road conditions. On a rain soaked highway this car feels very stable and drives that way . In snow and ice the traction control takes over and once again the stability feel is there . I call it road sense. My experience with higher priced cars that lack that road sense (Acura) give me an uncomfortable insecure feeling.

As soon as I turned over the keys to my 1998 Chevrolet Lumina Z-34 and got into the Impala and stepped on the gas, the difference was definately noticeble. The Lumina was quick and I used to be able to take the Civics and Eclipses right off the line but now, prior to experience,I have beat a 2000 BME 328i Sport sedan. I paid just over $30,000 and now that there is a special edition Indy 500 package i am probably going to trade it in.

Purchased car end of Jan., car in shop within 24 hrs b/c car won't start. Told nothing wrong, 2 days later same occurred, twice. In the garage since. A high volt code is causing electrical spike with anti- theft system, not allowing car to start. Data recoding sensor on car, & console went out/device shorted out. 2 weeks since purchase, GM/dealership unable to fix or replace vehicle. In rental 1+ wk. & have 1st pymt. due <2 wks. on car driven <3 days! Very diappointed! Hope just a lemon for me! In period of time in car, it performed well, driver friendly & good gas mileage. I finally did it! I traded my 01 Impala LS in for a 04 Impala SS. All I can say is...WOW! I love it! I love it! I love it! It has that extra get up and go when you need it, and it loooks gooood! =) Like I said about my LS (and I do miss him), there is nothing more to life than a good man, good children and a fun car to drive. Since buying this car, I have driven in the snow and wet pavments and I am very impressed with the cars proformance and stopping ability. On a long trip of over 100 miles, I got about 29 mpg and that's quite acceptable to me. The one draw back to me is driver visibility, the post and rearview mirror are in the way.

Last three cars were Saabs.when Saab changed design to look like everything else, i decided to try something different. looked at acura tsx, altima, crown vic and gran prix and decided to go with the impala ss for it's combination of roominess (my spreading rear end fits in the front seat and backseat large enough for grandsons' carseats) performance (great low end torque w/o noticeable torque steer) and lots of standard features at a reasonable price ($3500 rebate). nice solid ride, not floaty like the base impalas.

Impressed by this car. It doesn't have the purchase price tag of my old MB 400E, but it's got a lot more size and safety features than my Audi A4. Car is subtle and understated - perfect for "Q Ship" mode. Everyone comments on how sharp the car's looks are. Because I'm not as "into" the 94- 96 era car, I may be more appreciative of this automobile as a whole - not worried about FWD RWD

Spacious seating and user freindly. Lots of leg, hip and shoulder room, with plenty of room to spare for the person seating in the back seat. The 205 Horse Power engine provides solid performance.I have a Chevy 2500 HD with the 8.1 liter engine,so I am used to alot of horse power.I was not disappointed in the Impala power. The body is very solid and provides a quite ride. I did notice very minor road noise from tires, due to the soft rubber compound of the Goodyear tires. I will go with a set of Brudgestone, once we these tires are worn down (better performance and quiter ride).

We haven't had any problems out of our 2001. It's been very reliable. The 2004 seems to be on the same track. Great car!

Now is the time to buy what ever you want, but be sure and check for rebates, some Dealers will hide part of it if they can or add on for some other stuff you do not need or want do not get sucked in on finaacing or paint seal or anything that a Dlr.adds on, if they add value added or some other dubble talk walk out go to a Drl thart wants your business not just your money!

My Impala has been on two road trips in excess of 1000 miles each. The car handled extremely in mountainous terrain as well as on flat plains. Fuel economy was far geater than I expected and it is a pleasure to drive even after being in the car for over eight hours at a time. The roominess of the Impala was far better than expected. Overall I would give the Impala LS a rating of 9 of 10 points. I cannot say what the reliability of the vehicle is going to be but, I am confident that it is going to be great.

I was very impressed with the overall pleasent design change and they got away from the "Hot Rod" engines. I get 22.5 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway, better if I took my foot off of the gas and no A/C. I love this car. I would buy another, but think I should keep the one I bought. I bought a 2000 Impala LS with a sunroof and lots of extras.

Handling superb -- compares favorably to the 2003 Nissan Maxima. 280 ft-lbs torque really gets your attention. Little body roll for a car this big. Very tight suspension and seventeen inch wheels make it very sporty. Reliability should be good (at least, compared to domestic or European automobiles,) as the 3.8L engine has been around since the late '80s. Complaint: Chevy doesn't know how to design an plush interior. Buick leather is much nicer, the interior just has too much plastic, and bucket seats need a little more lateral support. The XM Satellite Radio, however, was a nice touch.

The Impala SS has the best build quality I have ever seen on a Chevy (and I have owned several in the last 15 years): No rattles, squeaks or wind noise. Excellent acceleration which will fool many drivers of more expensive luxury sedans(BMW's).No body roll in corners and excellent handling for front wheel drive. It's not a V8 or rear drive but very competent.

Having been tempted to purchase a new Impala SS in 1996 but not doing so and observing the cult following the model has had since 1996, it was intriguing to hear that a 2004 version was being built. The current SS will never have the same aura as the '94-'96 rigs because of its FWD V6 configuration, but it is still a marked improvement over the base and LS models. The 2004 Impala SS is also a great bargain in comparison to other similarly equipped vehicles. It feels great to drive and has a lot of available acceleration at any speed. I may seriously consider trading it in, though, if the rumors are true and a RWD V8 Impala is on the way.

On delivery-no scratches, wax on car, hand dirt in interior (poor prep), car jumps (low end torque), rides good on highway and turns are fun, 27.3 mpg on first tank (premium only), lots of looks, everyone speeds up when they see you, wheels are easy to clean (even the back of the wheels). This is a fun car that looks, rides, and runs like a champ-your reviewer can have all the Japanese refinement he wants- I'll take the FUN!

outstanding!!

great car - Mine has all the options available except the sporty Corvette- inspired rearend which I hate the look of anyway. My first experience was renting one in January 2002 and ever since, I'd had my eye on them. Smooth ride, excellent handling, plush comfort, reasonable price for the options I have. Highly recommend.

I am a 33 yr old woman with a husband and 2 children ages 7yrs and 3yrs old. The Impala by far has been the best family car I have ever owned. The child safty features are top of the line. The space inside the car is very large. Boys will be boys and mine tend to disagree often and this car provides the space they need to be in there own space and not invade the others personal zone. :) Did I mention the trunk is huge! My last car was a Mazda 626 and I felt I never had enough interior room or trunk space, well I have been spoiled by my Impala..plain and simple!

Have only had it a week or so but since it is Chevy's newest Impala wanted to share my views on it. Traded a 02 LS Impala with only 7800 miles that I truly enjoyed but had to have the newest model. I like the heavier feel to the SS and altho I am not a lead foot I can tell it has power to spare compared to the 02. The concept of the SS has always been performance and I think this car will give this to those who desire it.

There is nothing more to life than having a car that is fun to drive. Plus, it looks great just drinving to the local supermarket or mall. It a very under estimated family sedan. Awsome for long trips, because of the great gas mileage. We can get from Washington DC to Wheeling WV and still have a quarter of a tank left!

stupendous
