I'm getting to where some pieces need to be replaced but they are all original! The factory muffler lasted to 189k miles! I used to go through a car every 3-4 months (Mercedes CLK, Mini Cooper S, Suburban, 4Runner, Subaru(s)) but just love this vehicle! At 15 years old it still feels like new and is as comfortable as the old t-shirt my wife hates me to wear. This vehicle is not for everyone... it's big. It's bullet-proof. The suspension is remarkable and you barely feel what you're driving over. Huge pot holes or 4 feet of snow are no issue. With sunshine I open the large sunroof and windows and enjoy the day. I'm thinking of buying a spare for when this one actually breaks!

Waited 10 years to buy this. This SUV is simply amazing. Go anywhere performance and enough class to hit the clubs in Scottsdale. I've driven in 3 ft of snow, deep mud, rock fields and through streams... never, ever been worried about getting stuck. It is still as rattle and squeak free as the first day I drove it home. I plan to hang on to it for many years to come.

I traded every 12 to 18 months trying to be happy with something less than a Land Cruiser. Finally I bought one new, a big chunk of cash for us. But we love the truck. Had it 5 years now and look to trade, but can't give it up. I fell so secure when I put my family in her. I have blizzacks for the 18 wheels and have drive through blizzards, never spinning a wheel. We love our gray Cruiser.

I'm from Venezuela, and this is the best suv you can have in this country, it manages everything, here a normal street is an off road challenge, but the land cruiser pass through it. Excellent for hard conditions, you can find this suv from Africa to south america. From asia to middle east, is just great. You can never go wrong with a land cruiser.

The engineer who did the interior layout of this car should be fired! It is the most random placement of the rear A/C controls (above and behind the left rear seat?!). The Navigation system told me to make a u-turn and then after 100 yards told me to make a u-turn again! It shows me on roads I'm not even on! The voice activate button doesn't work! The rear seats fold up in a complex non-user friendly way and then to hold them up you hook a strap to the overhead handle! This SUV is so OVERPRICED! You can't get tires for this thing because they are 18" wheels! It's got too much body roll! The tailgate makes it imposible to reach in the back!!

The Land Cruiser is THE best SUV on the road. Period. Reliability is superb, handling excellent, comfort top-rate, and the ride smooth and quiet. I test drove them all. I read the reviews. And three years of ownership later I still haven't wished for anything else, not even my sporty little Mercedes.

Forget about the hype from other manufacturers who claim to be the best, the original, 'professional grade', etc. The Toyota Landcruiser is the best built, most durable, full- size sport utility vehicle on the planet. It is sold on every continent because it can handle anything you throw at it. How does your unibody Cayenne/ML/X5 hold up to the rigors of Afghanistan? Thought so. The LC is great off road, rides very well on road, and the 320 ft. lbs. of torque is plenty. (Don't buy into the horsepower hype, people -- it's torque that you want.) If you want a sports car, buy a 911 or a Corvette, not a SUV wannabe. Buy the Landcruiser, and with the money you save, get a used Boxster!

This is my 3rd LC and they have all been great but still only 235 hp and all of that weight??? i know, i know it's a TRUCK but Toyota needs to update this motor and asap. i drive a lot of miles and will need to replace this soon. i have done all the looking as usual but the quality of this truck rules over the lack of power. maybe i'm asking too much.

Although the fuel economy leaves much to be desired. The overall quality of the Land Crusier is better than my Mercedes ML and my previous 500 SEL. The truck is very solid and responsive and goes like a donkey while off road. I would recommend this truck to both the luxury buyer and also one to have fun with. The best SUV that I test drove, and I test drove most of them.

Great DEPENDABLE suv. When we just had our first child....we needed something BIGGER and wanted a safe car that we knew wouldn't let us down. We have an 97 Land Cruiser and a 99 four runner......so we knew a 2003 Land Cruiser would be perfect for our NEW family.

All around a great SUV , my daughter loves the dvd feature. The GPS works great in the lower 48 but not in Alaska (i'm hoping some new software will include Alaska). Comfortable ride. Nice on screen controls for climate, audio, etc. Beware of the 18inch wheels if you live in a snow climate. There are no snow tires(blizzak, etc.) or even all season tires to fit these wheels!!! They come with high performance tires that are not good for cold climates!! Alt. wheels only avilable from toyota and they are very expensive!!

Originally purchased as a family utility auto to transport 5 boys to school, scoccer, summer trips, ect... but has grown to be such a fun and easy drive and ride, that it is a tough choice to drive it or my BMW around town for short errands. I certainly am not comparing the toyota LC to the BMW 5 series as far as performance but in many ways it is just as much fun to drive. The driver has suprisingly superior steering control for such a big and heavy truck. It drives comfortable like a car, brakes well and the fun gets even better when you go off road. Treat yourself to a test drive...you will experience an immediate and distint difference in agility.

This is my second Land Cruiser. I love the reliability, performance and protection. I was in a very bad accident with my three small children last winter, on a dark and snowy blizzard night. The only thing that saved my children and their mother was the weight and build of my Land Cruiser. Having been a Land Cruiser owner for over five years, I can attest to the fact that I have not once experienced mechanical problems nor do I expect any. It's just a very well built car with a lot of room and good features.

Solid all around sums it up. Capable off-road and a pleasure on-road with room for the kids, dog and all the stuff that goes with them. I traded a Land Rover for this car and never looked back. I've driven it in Blizzards, on the beach, off-road and plenty on-road. Never once was I concerned that we wouldn't make it. I plan to keep my TLC for as long as she's willing to serve though I may buy the 2016 model and give my current TLC to my 3 year old.

When we were looking for our next truck we like at several vehicles including the Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Esclade, Hummer H2, and the Land Rover Range Rover. The Landcruiser offered the best of everything and is the most depend and reliable vehicle we have ever owned. This truck gives you an abosoulte sense of security. I have driven down streets with 3ft of snow (unplowed) without have to use any of the differentials or low-range settings of the Landcruiser. This is the best vehicle you could own, its almost like a Japanese Hummer!

Don't get me wrong, toyota makes a hell of a car but I believe paying $60,000 for 235 HP is not too great of an idea. I would reccomend buying a Land Rover Range Rover because you get more power and comfort in approximately the same price range, and best of all BMW makes it. Whatever you do, don't buy a Lexus LX 470 because it is the same as the land cruiser, except the keyless entry system opens the rear hatch automatically for $10,000 extra!

This is my first 4x4 i have had a lot of fun driving it up and down 100 meter high sand dunes in the UAE then going out of the sand and inflate the tyres and drive at 100 MPH for hours, and few cars can do what the Land Cruiser can, in the year i had no problems what so ever with it i use it for short journeys to work and long journeys on the weekend breaks with the family. its simple you can go anywhere you want to go.

I've enjoyed my 2002 Landcruiser tremendously. I've had it since August and I have about 24000 miles. It handles very well and the ride is very smooth. Every where I go people are always complementing me and asking me if I would recommend it. By the time I'm finished they are asking me for the dealership and salesperson that I dealt with. So far it has met my expectations. I will buy another one.

I traded my 2001 for a 2003, and was pleasantly suprised to see the telescoping steering wheel and stereo controls on the steering wheel. Also, the dashboard has a more pleasing shape to it. The only drawback to owning a Land Cruiser, is that you are never satisfied with anything less. It's an expensive love affair!

I live at 7,200 feet elevation and going up and coming down a 18% snow covered dirt road is a cake walk with 4- low. The engine braking system lets me coast down with complete ease. The rear DVD system with wireless headphones keeps my kids quiet, and the navigation system can find the smallest dirt road. I travel in quiet Toyota comfort and quality, but can go where Escalades and Navigators can not.

Hi all, just wanted to voice my opinion. I just purchased a 2002 Landcruiser, this after owning a 2001 Landrover...enough said! Prior to my owning a Landrover I had a Landcruiser for several years. I can honestly say, a Landrover DOES live up to its reputation of being an un-reliable car that falls apart! Also they depreciate like CRAZYYY!!! I appreciate having my LC every day, as I know it will NEVER fail me, sure it does not have that fancy Rover symbol, but that is not nessary as the LC is a legend.

My second LC, replacing a 2001 X5. Impressed with interior comfort, especially seats. Smooth ride, ample power/acceleration. Complicated Nav system but integrated with Audio quite well. Quite glad to be back with the Land Cruiser brand. Definite bummer is the fuel consumption (not a surprise). Also, Toyota dealer a breeze to work with and quite an improvement over the BMW dealership I dealt with.

This SUV fits in with others in its class. Howver, the overall construction of the vehicle can leave a sour taste in the mouth of a trendy consumer.

REPUTATION ABOVE ALL OTHERS....

THE LANDCRUISER IS LUXURIOUS AND TOUGH. YOU WILL BE VERY VERY PROUD TO OWN ONE!!! I THOUGHT OVER AND OVER. HIGH SAFETY, HIGH RELIABLITY, TRUE DESIGN, SPACIOUS COMFORT AND UNMATCHED REPUTATION. ALL OTHERS WILL SHINE AT THE TIME BUT THE LANDCRUISER WILL STILL BE THERE. WHEN YOU SAY I HAVE A LANDCRUISER...ENOUGH SAID...OTHERS ENVY AND ONLY WISH. THE PRICE IS WORTH IT AND HOLDS ITS RESALE VALUE. ITS THE NEXT LEVEL.
