I just happened to drive by the dealership and seen a dodge charger scatpack. It was black, custum made straight pipes and wheels. I asked Jim Fisher if we can test drive it because I have a blacked out 2016 RT charger and looking to trade as an upgrade.Lets just say it didnt go very well. We pull out of the parking lot and I applied little more gas than normal because i was intreasted how the scat pack perorms compared to my RT. I didnt even hit the gas all the way until Jim Fisher started screaming at me. "You do not do that while I'm here and I do not allow anyone to drive my car like that while I'm around. I don't want to die and you should pull over right now. You are in my lot, my car, my rules". That attitude shocked me, I didnt even know how to reaply except that is poor behavior. We only got to the stop light before the great experiance was over.To make matters worse i talk to the second in command on the used side and all he could say is I'll talk to him.I'm a regional manager and those words usually mean that I dont care. After that I didnt want the car or the relationship. The management and customer service team should really take a page out of Izys book the manager from Ankeny. I walked in and purchased my new pick up with i 10 min. Than a 2016 RT.That was service.

Keep your vehicle maintained. As others have stated, the paint is not the best. I have 280,000 miles on this vehicle which was a program vehicle and had 11,000 when I purchased it. I have spent about $ 3,000 on it during a period of 12 years (repairs)

I bought this car used last year as a trade with my mini van. When they first pulled it up I was like, um nope. My husband made me test drive and I fell in love. Mine is brown and black, and this thing is awesome. It is by far the best car I have ever owned. Even the first Hyundai I had, swore never to get another. The gas mileage is great. Put $20 in a beginning of work week and no more until Friday or Saturday. Gets me where I need to go.

Bought a 2003 Santa Fe with 125K GLS 2.7L for my son his senior year of HS, he took it to college...had to replace a rear trailing arm & a coroded battery cable, other than that I did the timing belt, plugs & wires, new tires, and most fluids. GREAT car for the money, love the styling (its now a classic), modern interior, and perfect for teens and college age kids for room and safety. Decent sound system, side airbags and lots of metal, smooth ride and quiet engine...you can do a lot worse, just stay away from the 4-cylinder.

I love my 2003 Hyundai Santa FE GLS 2.7 liter

I bought my 2003 Santa FE brand new. I now have 175000 miles on it. I have had its maintenance done regularly which has included the timing and serpentine belt twice, replaced the battery once, 2 sets of front brake pads, 1 set of rear brakes pads, and replaced one set of tires. This has been absolutely worth the money I have spent for the car. Some of the 'problems' that other reviewers have posted are not problems but regular maintenance items. Everything thing wears out people and may need to be replaced! Some of the fuel economy issues can also be attributed to poor fuel quality. If you put crap gas in your car it will cause problems first with poor mpg's then eventually emission issues.

My wife and I bought it with 60,000 miles. We had a couple of minor issues right of the bat that the dealer didn't want to handle. I did replace the plugs and wires twice within the first two years because of the same problem. It was a little time consuming but not impossible. Definately cheaper then taking it into the dealer. Other then that it has been very reliable. Gas mileage could be a little better. I think we average around 17-18mpg. We orignally bought it because we were told it could handle a boat. Later found it the towing capacity wasn't great. But would definately buy another one.

I purchased this vehicle used a 1 1/2 yrs ago and had nothing but problems. Major cost to fix each problem. The front and rear catalytic converter had to be replaced as I could not get speed over 25 mph. On trip 2 hrs away from my home a month ago and the car just shut down on me. This past week belt which controls the a/c condenser and power steering just completely broke. Now I need a a/c condenser which is over $1000. NEVER will buy a Hyundai again.

Bought the LX for my wife in Nov 2002. She is 5'2" and loves it. I am 6'2" and it is great around town, bit of a challenge on all-day drives. Been to Colorado skiing in 2x and it is great in the mountains. MPG could be more, but the feds killed it with crappy ethanol (insane idea to use food for fuel). Get 18 or 19 mpg around town, stop and go. Interstate driving nets 26+ at 70-80mph. (Ours is the 4 spd auto.) Downside has been recent - right side lock is failing. The radio is poor on AM (had the antenna replaced once) and the radio display is on/off intermittently. I've used all BG products and done careful maintenance - Santa Fe should go to 150K easily.

I have had my car for over 7 years now. At 128k miles I can honestly say it's been a great car. This was my first new car to own and haven't had many problems. I had to get new tires at about 70k miles. I changed the battery once and only had to get regular maintenance work done to the brakes because of the wear and tear. Haven't had to put much money into it. I just wish I had gotten AWD because it doesn't handle all that great in bad snow.

Even though my son was very good about all of its maintenance checks and oil changes, etc. Hyundai was not good about the warranty coverage and making sure that a certain problem should be taken care of immediately. Now at 53,000, the engine was shot, and it took the extended warranty company Zurich 6 weeks to have it replaced. Now I have a gas line problem which was also noted back in 2005, that was not taken care of and again I have been without my vehicle for two weeks.

Maintenance was clearly an afterthought!

I purchased my Santa Fe new in 2003. Currently have about 69,000 miles on it. Several issues over the last year including, replacing alternator, gas regulator valve, gas return line. A/C cuts on/off going over bumps. Drivers side window is on its last legs. Rear bearings, emergency brake. While the initial purchase price was very good, you wind up paying for maintenance in the long term. Clearly Hyundai engineers did not take maintenance into consideration. Simple things like a spark plug change have to be brought to dealer because the process is very complex. Dealer quoted $520 for new PVC valve, plugs and wires. Currently, I'm lucky if I average 12-13 mpg.

I bought my car used in 05. I love the look of the car and its fun to drive and very comfy and roomy BUT I have had nothing but trouble with it. had to replace rear end, new battery that I was told had to be Hyundai specific and cost$132, trouble with pedal sensors and now damper pulley and timing belt. It is horrible in the winter to start and when it does it doesn't want to drive! it does tend to jerk sometimes when shifting. It's a shame i really do love this car but probably won't buy another one.

We bought this car new while my husband was in grad school. We've now had the car for over 6 years--we're just under 65,000 miles on the odometer--and have NEVER had a single issue with this car. We get all the scheduled maintenance, plus the recommended maintenance, and the result is a perfectly operating SUV that gets pretty good gas mileage (especially for a 6 cylinder SUV) that's beyond reliable. As a note, my sister has a 2001 Hyundai Elantra that she loves, too. Just like us, she loves her car and has never had any issues. Hyundai has come a long way; their cars are super reliable now!

It's been almost 7 years & I still love my Santa Fe. Still handles smoothly & gets great mileage:21-23 mpg. So glad I went w/the AWD 3.5L engine. The maintenance schedule has been easy to follow. Only used the warranty once 3 yrs ago for a sticky exhaust valve that kept triggering the check engine light. It handles snowy & twisty mountain roads just as easily as commuter miles. Has been great for home depot trips, camping & road trips, skiing, & taking the dog out for a beach day. Passengers love the roominess & comfort of the backseat plus the great storage capacity in the cargo area. Bought softer tires for a quieter ride. Curious to see how well it holds up for the next 100K miles

I will never buy another Hyundai Santa Fe. This car had multiple major problems, including timing belts replaced, transmission replaced, rear and front catalytic converters replaced, etc. The tires were replaced multiple times, as were the brakes. The driver window fell down into the door and needed fixing. This was definitely a high-maintenance car. My car wouldn't accelerate above 30 mph on a highway so I had to drive on the shoulder of the road while utilizing my flashers. I took it to the dealership, who apparently misdiagnosed the problem multiple times and had my car for 5-weeks without a loaner vehicle. The customer service dept. and service dept. were less-than-acceptable.

My father suggested this vehicle to me as I was looking for something a little bigger to own (He's even a Chevy/GMC guy). My sister had a Hyundai and liked it. I thought it was too big, but I use every inch of it! I average 20-22 mpg combined city/highway driving. I just replaced the original battery. It protected me well in an icy road front end collision. Hope to see 100,000 miles soon. Only annoyance is half of lights on gear shift are burned out. Oh well.

Bought over the Net for great price. Extended warranty used when rear wheel bearing cracked but otherwise has been flawless. Service from 2 different dealers excellent, good customer service locally & from Hyundai USA. Very impressed with build quality altho it's underpowered for the weight. Excellent handling & braking, great cargo capacity that's easy to use.

I purchased my Santa Fe in 2003, I now have 145,000 miles on it. I replaced the tires at 95,000 and the timing belt at 125,000. My wonderful little SUV sees the dealership only at scheduled maint. as I have not had any problems with it at all. And as my daughter says ... I will drive it until the doors fall off. If I had to purchase another car it would be another Santa Fe!! Very roomy and comfortable on long trips.

I am the original owner, purchasing the vehicle (rated 18mpg City/22 Hwy) with 56 miles on the odometer. I've never gotten more than 15mpg with it and usually around 12mpg is more accurate. I've taken it into the dealer where I bought it several times only to be told there's nothing wrong with it. Several bulbs burned out the first year. All in all it's been a decent car albeit it way underpowered. It took winter/snowy driving in Quebec, CA without a hitch but even with new tires, in the rain it feels uneasy. I can't say I'd buy another Santa Fe but Hyundai does a good job for the money.

Excellent car and value overall! I reluctantly bought my 1st Hyundai based on a friends referral of the Santa Fe. Turned out to be the best and least- expensive auto I have ever owned. Now owned for 6 years without a SINGLE problem. Historically, I sold previous cars within 3-4 years because they were junk and everything would begin failing. Surprisingly, not so with my Santa Fe. I highly recommend this car and am on Edmunds looking at the new models.

I thought that after living with a car for 5 years since being purchased brand new it would be a good assessment of how it would perform day in and day out. In one word "excellent". The only things I've done besides normal maintenance were to change the battery & the license plate lights! Even the BF Goodrich tires managed to hold up with tread left at 77,000 but I figure it was time to replace them with another set. I managed about 25mpg overall but admit not to being a fast driver. The only wear and tear was the paint for some reason coming off of all the 5 doorhandles. I would guess the paint is on the thin side. Would I do it all over again? Without a doubt, I love this car!

Everything was ok for 3 yrs. At 4th yr mark, around 60,000 miles after your initial warranty kicks out, everything started falling apart. A timing belt $700.00. Lots of problems w/tires 1st yr owning car. Now in our 5th year, no more warranty, 71,000 miles & we are having Major problems. Was told it would cost $2800! Car is only worth $4000 - $5000 at this point. We have a 2007 sonata. Will never buy another Hyundai. They are not made when at all & that whole 100,000 warranty thing is a hoax. The car will not make it that far without costing you lots in repairs. We will buy a Toyota next time around.

After my 93 Corolla had finally had it, I decided to get an SUV. Actually wanted a VW Toureg, but fell in love with the Santa Fe since I could actually afford it. Had one issue a few months after purchase, was able to work around it and get it fixed (something with a valve in the fuel system). Being in northern MN, I do wish I would have gotten one that was 4WD or AWD. Drives well, and being almost 6 ft, I feel comfortable in it and in the back. Seats fold down nicely. Have used the roof racks for skis and for a luggage, went nicely. Power sun roof, very nice. I was very excited that it had a cassette player(my iPod connects easily) AC is very cold. Cruise work easily. Lots of storage inside

This Santa Fe handles snow conditions great. I deliver papers on gravel roads and use this on snowy days. I have zero worries about getting stuck in the snow. Only once have I been stuck. I drove into a 3 foot high drift and drifted toward the roadside. I got wedged against the road bank. If you need a SUV for the winter conditions, this is it. Other than in severe conditions I prefer my V6 Camry.

At 75,000 miles had the spark plugs and timing belt replaced at a cost of $900! The intake manifold has to be removed to get at the spark plugs and the timing belt is very difficult to get to. There could be two reasons for this: 1) Thoroughly incompetent engine design engineers, or 2) Hyundai management dictated poor design for maintainability as a way of enriching their dealerships. The unfortunate owner has to spend a lot of money for what should be simple and inexpensive replacements. Spark plugs at least should be a do it yourself project. And then there are those engine and cruise control glitches; my Santa Fe seems top have more glitches than the space shuttle.

I have driven lots of cars/trucks/suvs in my years as a car owner. I would buy this SUV again in a heartbeat. I drive 100 miles a day just back and forth to work. The only thing I have had to do is tires, breaks, and normal maintenance required for the warranty. (timing belt, tensioner @ 60,000) I get GREAT gas mileage (26-26 mpg) considering the weight of Santa Fe. My mother bought herself a Santa Fe 6 months after I got mine, and loves hers as well. I would recommend this SUV to anybody, and have. Well worth every penny.

Lots of Extras however, they are cheap

At 101K miles I had the following problems: The ignition failed on the care at 70k I had that replaced. The radio failed. The left side window had to be replaced. My keyless entry paid rusted out. They said it fell in the water. Other then that it has been normal stuff.

I was first leary of buying another Hyundai since we've owned an 1989 and 1993 Sonata that were problem childs. The long warranty brought me back as well as leasing incase I wanted to walk away. I am here to tell all that we have had excellent reliability average about 22 to 23 in mixed driving and close to 26 on highway driving at 75MPG. The 2.7 V6 engine seems stronger at greater speeds. I think it's because of being a 24 valve engine. The stereo is great, the cargo capacity is excellent. We still have the original tires. Two drawbacks: The timing belt and spark plugs need to be changed at 60000. Plugs require dealer to change at a cost of $250 because of a design flaw with intake.

I had this vehicle for 3 years and i love it, It came with a 3.5 liter Engine that has so much power that it scared me in the begining can out run a lot other vehicles fast, very fast. Pretty good milage and runs well on regular gas. Unfortunetley new Sata fe do not have this egine I think they have a 3.3 liter now so i don't know if you will get the kick i get.

I brought my Sante Fe two years ago in 2004. It was ok at first and then at 27,000 mies the clutch started to stick. It would lock up in 2nd gear. Well, I took it to the dealership and thet were supposed to fixin the problem. Well guess what! One month later when I got it back it ran smoothly for 2 weeks now I'm havin the same problem again after they claim to hav replaced the Transmission, well in addition to that! I've spent 300 dollars on tires not to mention the brakes has some issues! All I have to say is I'm done with Hyundai! I will either trade it or get rid of it!!!!!

After 50,000 miles we're still very pleased with our 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. Aside from some rough shifting that required some transmission-related computer updates, we've had no real trouble. Gas mileage is lower than expected, but the overall build quality inside and out we're still pleased with. No squeaks, rattles, or strange noises, and the road noise is low.

I purchased this automobile based on referral only. I knew several friends and family members that owned Santa Fe's and also friends and family that owned Hyundai's in general. All reviews were good. I didn't even test drive the car at that point. I picked one out of the lot and asked to have it ready by the end of the day. Almost 2 years to that day later, I don't regret my choice one bit. It's perfect for a single person who likes to be the "designated driver" with friends as well as a great car for a small family. Drives just as good at 110mph as it does at 40mph. I often offer to let others test drive if they're looking for a vehicle in that category. Great car in any weather!!

I have tested and drove almost all the SUV's, except for the real expensive, over $40,000, nothing compares. The RAV- 4 was like driving a bus. The CRV was very narrow inside and was not comfortable to drive more than a few miles. The Santa Fe has superior room and drives better. The drive is good.

Purchased new in 2003 for wife to drive to work, family use on weekend. Has made several 2,000 mile round-trips from WI to Denver CO through winter snow without incident. Daily commute is about 15 miles round-trip. Reliable car, has only needed one unscheduled maintenance trip for malfunctioning rear diff computer setting (sounds more serious than it is). Our dog loves the cargo area, she sleeps contentedly in the sun on longer trips.

This is my 2nd Hyundai and I will never buy another another make of vehicle again. I have NEVER had one problem with my Santa Fe and never had a problem with the Elantra that I owned prior. The reliability cannot be matched by any american vehicle(I'm sorry to say) The standard and safety features are great and so is the warranty. The SUV could be a little larger and the seats could be a little more comfortable too. I bought the automatic 4cyl. instead of the 6 cyl. because they get better gas mileage but I have noticed that sometimes it seems you really have to put the pedal to the medal to accelerate fast. But overall this is a wonderful SUV that I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

JD Powers caused me to look seriously at a Hyundai and am I glad. I am one who loves the styling and my 5 year old's favorite game is to spot another Santa Fe. I don't need extra horsepower and I addressed my conservationist guilt with the 4 speed shift. I had forgotten how much fun a stick is to drive! Only one downside, I bought a less than one year old trade in. Great price, clean as a whistle, still new car smell, NO TRANSFER OF WARRANTY! Oh well...I really love this SUV.

Overall, I love my Santa Fe. It is a smooth ride since it is on the car body, instead of a truck. I have been in Blazers (which is similar) and it is a horrible ride compared to the Santa Fe. The main issue I have is that sometimes when I am driving, the engine gets bogged down and the car will jerk. It corrects itself, but it is scary when it happens. Besides that, I would recommend this car. I only wish Hyundia made a bigger SUV. i am out of room with my two kids in the back!

Distinctive styling (you can actually pick it out from all the other look alike SUVs) and a great warranty are some of the things unique to this vehicle. The interior is roomy, ergonomic and controls are well placed. Seating is comfortable and even though I was used to a fancy power driver seat lumbar/sear adjustment, this vehicles manual controls (3)worked out fine. Many of the options we pay extra for on other vehicles are standard on the Santa Fe. Brakes are great, acceleration good (this is not a dragster)and road noise and ride are superior.

I have had the vehicle for 1.5 years and had the transmission replaced once. Now I maybe looking at another new tranmission. Just got my oil changed and they informed me that I have metal scrapings in my transmission fluid. When I called the dealership, they said they are out of loaner cars and cannot get me in for 2 weeks. Very poor service! This thing has been in the shop for a good portion of my ownership. Maybe I got a lemon, but I would expect the dealership to go out of its way for me to rectify the situation. I am a young buyer and have many more vehicles to buy in the future. Sad to say but I will never buy another Hyundai!

My wife wouldn't be caught dead driving a minivan, yet she doesn’t need neither a real off-roader nor a gas-guzzling monster SUV for everyday driving around with a baby. And here comes Santa Fe. It has comfortable driving and roomy enough to take a family of 3 or 4 with their belongings for a long vacation trips, and it excellently handles snow / ice / rain in any combinations and quantities. We drove this car trough last winter in New Hampshire (with storms et al), and it passed the test with A+ grade.

Great SUV with good gas mileage. The Santa Fe has exceeded the expectations and continues to perform without flaw. This is a tough little SUV, and it's not really made for serious off-road use. It's a comfortable car for larger sized people, most foreign automakers are made for smaller size of people, which makes it hard for most large American car buyers. This one's a keeper, so you'll just have to find out for yourself, why these SUV's may just be one of the better keep secrets. But do not let anyone know just how good they are! Then the Hyundai Santa Fe will be a vechicle that everyone will be wanting and others will copy.

After 2 years of researching and comparing I finally got my car and I've never driven an automobile that was more fun and comfortable (I've regularly driven 1992 Buick Park Avenue, 1998 Pontiac Sunfire, and 2003 Pontiac Vibe). The pickup is amazing - its actually hard to not chirp the tires. The interior is far from luxurious but it does the trick for me. It can definately handle extra weight and lots of cargo as I haul band equipment in it. Although I have yet to see somebody my age (23M) driving it, its really a fun and sporty suv. It handles very smoothly, just like a buick thats sitting real high with less curb weight.

I bought the car three weeks ago. It was a lease trade-in with 16,000 miles on it and I absolutely love it. It's roomy and it went through the snow without a problem. I cannot stop telling people how great this car has been so far. My only issues: the back windshield wiper only wipes half of the window. I need to take it back to the dealer to have it fixed (under warranty), which is bothersome. Also the driver's side door lock paint is peeling in a small spot.

We loved the body style, so we took a look. The 2.7L motor was much better than the 4 cyl, but still underpowered. I hear the new 3.5 is MUCH better. I still used the SUV to tow my motorcycles 300 miles to the track and except for a few steep hills, it held its' own. (I even slept in the rear with the middle seats folded down and I'm 6'2" 230 lbs.!) Front leg room was just enough for me, could have been a bit roomier, but this is a mid- sizer. All controls are user friendly (once you figure out the AMB means "ambient" or outside temperature, lol). Bottom line, great value for a good mid-sized 4WD SUV.

We have taken our Santa Fe out on the beach this summer and we never once got stuck. We have driven it in ice and snow and it gave us a real sense of security. It got up icy hills with no problem! Before we bought it, we did not like the design, but after awhile we actually grew to like it so much! It does not look like every other SUV and the distinctive, flared front fenders gives it a classy, designer look. The 2.7 engine can be a bit sluggish at times, but the Santa Fe gets 18-22 miles per gallon, and that is quite acceptable.

You dont hear much talk about the Santa Fe compared to hondas, nissans, or toyotas. Its value & Quality is like a hidden secret. I feel that it surpasses them all in value and its solid construction is all anyone needs. Only two things I dont like about my hyundai is gas milage and the fact that the bumpers have no protection from scratches. Obviously the people who designed this car dont drive or have to park in NY city. People continually bump into it scratching the painted bumpers. They need to think about some bumper guards or grills at least as an option with the car.

I am a self employed contractor who has to repair trucks and heavy equiptment for a living. I had previously owned a 1990 Sonata and did all the maintenance and repairs by myself. What amazed me was the quality and design of every part that I worked on that car over the five years that I owned it. After driving the car from 70k to 200,000 miles , I sold it running as good as the day I bought it, and bought the Santa Fe. Let me tell you , the Santa Fe is an awesome vehicle. I have put 15,000 miles on it in 5 months with zero problems.

I fell in love with the flared fenders and the style that seems to set it apart from the rest. I test drove it and had to have it. I had driven other SUVs in its class and none compared. I even drove a Lexus. I didn't think the Lexus was worth the money. I definitely got a great value with my car. This is the second Hyundai that I have owned. I have been very pleased with my Sante Fe. Just give it a test drive and you'll see what I mean!!!

I always tell people that we love it and that the warranty can't be beat. You would pay $5000-7000 more for any other car in its class with all its features. The styling is sporty, yet carries 5 people comfortably. The cargo area is roomy and the fold-down rear seats expand that more. It also has get- up-and-go that you wouldn't expect. We are very satisfied with our purchase and what we received for the price we paid. We would also recommend our dealership to anyone - they treated us far better than any other we tried dealing with.

I never thought I would ever buy a Hyundai. I had never owned anything but a Ford (and one inherited Chevy). But, I couldn't pass up the price and warranty on this vehicle. Overall, we are extremely pleased with this vehicle. The ride is remarkable for an SUV. The interior is absolutely beautiful compared to other SUV's in this size range. We've only had one minor problem after 11,000 miles (an oxygen sensor). I recommend it to anyone. (My good friend has always owned Toyotas and Hondas. However, he liked our Santa Fe so much, he purchased one.) I do recommend the 3.5 liter engine, though. The 2.7 liter is a little weak.

Now she almost knocks me down to get in our sant fe so she can go for a drive. some times she just gets in the santa fe and look at me saying lets go.

I experienced 2 bad "Check Engine" sensors and the brakes wore out prematurely at only 28K miles. The 10/100000 warranty is fine, but my local dealers are sub par so I had to take the vehicle to dealers that are further from home. One of these other dealers recognized the sensor failures and fixed them and recognized the brake problems. I got after market brake pads from another company because I didn't trust the Hyundai brake pads. It lacks power with the 2.7 liter V6 engine. The cobalt-blue paint has a high chip rate.

Overall so far a good experience. The Santa Fe is very quiet, and the features (for the money) can't be beat. Excellent pickup from a stop, passing power when at 60 takes a while to get there. Mileage could be better. No regrets from buying it. Traded in a 1999 Ford Explorer (purchased new originally), the Santa Fe rides much better than the Explorer ever did.

I researched and test drove many suv's that compare with Santa Fe. More bang for your buck and a solid vehicle to drive. Handles great, rides great, low noise level, and comfortable too.It fits like a glove. The transmition is aimed at smooth, quiet shifting, sometimes giving the impression that acceleration is a little less than peppy. It is there when you need it, especially when your already up to speed. There is really nothing I do not like about the Santa Fe. Only wish I would have got one with sunroof and built in DVD player.

We were looking at Honda CRV's (overpriced) and thought the Rav4 was too small and the highlander was underpowered and overpriced. Domestics not a factor. Took a test drive and got a great deal. Warranty was not a deciding factor. It was a bonus. Ride and power with 3.5 liter was deciding factor. Incredibly quiet. It was supposed to be my car but my wife leaves the minivan in the driveway all the time.

We were anti-suv because of the poor gas mileage. However, we needed a vehicle that could fit three medium sized teenagers in the back seat that wasn't a station wagon. The Santa Fe does that with amazing comfort, great interior and a beautiful look. The 100,000 10-year warranty can't be beat. Would love a little better gas mileage but it's over 20--better than lots of other vehicles. We love it.

After owning an Accent since 99 and very happy with reliability, we went and picked up the Santa Fe. Initially test drove the AWD 2.7 but found it hesitated ond pickup was a little slow. Opted to give up the AWD and upgrade to 3.5l. Very very happy with the handling and performance of this truck. The hardest part was keeping it under 55mph during the break-in period. This truck wants to be driven. Very sporty, very comfortable interior with all the creature comforts included as standard equipment. Leather/heated seats, auto temp. control, 6 speaker 6 cd changer auto dim rear view, heated side view mirrors, and on and on.

After test driving and researching all the small and mid-size SUVs that we were interested in (Kia Sorento, Ford Escape, Saturn VUE, Mazda Tribute, Suzuki XL-7), the Santa Fe was the winner based on value, driveability, safety, warranty and style, in that order. It's taken a while to warm up to the unique styling, but when you're driving this vehicle, looks are secondary. It's enjoyable and comfortable to drive on long trips. Lots of room for front and rear passengers. I do feel the 2.7 liter V6 is adequate for most people who don't plan to tow anything and use this as a daily driver.

It was time to buy the wife a new vehicle and she suggested the Santa Fe. I wasn't to happy about buying a Hyundai, but to keep her happy we went to the Hyundai dealer to take a look. I test drove the LX 3.5 AWD and was very impressed. I also drove the 2.7 FWD, but decided the 3.5 AWD was the way to go. This vehicle gives you more bang for your buck than any of the other vehicles we looked at. Just to let you know how much I liked this vehicle, 3 weeks after we took delivery on my wifes Santa Fe, I went out and purchased one for myself. Identical vehicles, but hers has a moonroof and mine doesn't, and of course we have different colors.

We haven't had this vehicle for very long and we have had to bring it to the shop 3 times for mechanical problems. This is by far the worst vehicle we have ever owned, and my family used to own a Ford L.T.D. The center console has broken on us twice, both sun visors had to be replaced, and the mirror fell off. We'd have been better off buying a used Yugo. At least we would have known what to expect. No wonder the C.E.O. jumped to his death from twelve stories.

After 6k running ok. Nice exterior - gets lots of looks and washes up nicely, especially bumpers. Initial acceleration is a little hesitant. Seats are somewhat hard and flat. Front interior is small for 6 ft. tall people. Back trunk has lots of room and easy access.

We bought the LX Santa Fe this week after much study. We opted for it over the Honda CR-V. We also own a Landcruiser. The tires grip the road as well as the Toyota Landcruiser. The view out the front is outstanding. The room is adequate. I'm 5'11" and have no sense of crowding. Legroom up front is adequate, too. The radio while decent sounds a bit tinny. A subwoofer would help this. So far no problem with the CD changer. Acceleration is good. We opted for the larger 3.5 V6 after reading the reviews here and test driving the 2.7. On the hilly drive home from the dealer, I didn't notice any acceleration problems up or down the hills.

What a Joy!

We like everything about the Santa Fe, espcially the price and warranty. It performs well, has a high clearence underneath the vehicle which an SUV is supposed to have, unlike alot of other brands. You can go off road with this vehicle, gas milage could be better. It is well built and comes standard with eletric windows, locks, alarm, fog lights and audio system with CD- player. A great buy and deal for anyone.

We had previously owneda Dodge Caravan Mini Van. We loved the vehicle but it was 6 years old and out of warranty and things were starting to break down. We could not afford another Dodge Mini Van. We had a Hyundai in the past that lasted us 11 years and 140,000 miles and had a 7 year warranty and it was wonderful and affordable, so, we went back to Hyundai and bought the Santa Fee, we feel it has more standard features that are extra on other makes. We love it!! Keep up the good work!

I recently picked up my new Santa Fe. I love the comfort and handling. Everywhere I go people stop and ask me "What is that?", "I love it", "It doesn't look like everything else out there." Those are some of the reasons that I purchased it. It has great get- up-and-go, and so far it gets the gas mileage promised. The salesman at Ganley Westside was honest and completely helpful{ Bob C.}. If you ever shopped for a new car and you are a woman you'll understand that it is a real pain, as I found out after 4 LONG weeks of shopping around. It was a breath of fresh air to find an honest salesman.

Ever since I saw the Santa Fe at the 2002 Chicago Auto Show, I wanted one. I just love the way it looks, small but sturdy. Some of the other small SUV's look like go garts, but the Santa Fe has substance. I drive about 55 miles a day and I'm impressed with the gas mileage that I get. I get stopped all the time by people wanting to know how I like it. I have only had it a short time, but I hope it continues to perform the way it does now and I will have it for a very long time. Something that I can't say about the Grand Cherokee and Durango that I used to own.

My Santa Fe came from the factory with a bad sensor in the gas tank which caused the check engine light to come on less than two days after I had it. Needless to say... that was a bit discouraging. However, I think it was just "one of those things" and I was the "lucky" person to get that particular vehicle. Other than that, I LOVE my Santa Fe! The 3.5 has GREAT pickup, although the gas pedal is VERY touchy. (I'm not exagerating about this!) The ride is really quiet and extremely solid! The radio reception seems to be a bit below par, but not terrible. I notice people turning their heads all of the time, straining to see what kind of vehicle it is.

The 3.5L is powerful and much faster than the 2.7L. The back seat is very roomy (much more than the Liberty). Headroom is not too bad either. I'm 6'4" and have plenty of room. Handling is excellent! The Sante Fe is definitely a head turner.

I've had very bad luck with my Santa Fe. It is frequently being repaired, it has no power to get over hills(mis-fire in the cylinders), the air conditioner provides little more than an open window does and smells like mold, the rear wheels screech constantly, the powerlocks NEVER worked right and are now disconnected, a MAJOR moisture problem in winter(have to scrape the inside of the windows while driving.

Fuel economy is better than my previous Mazda Tribute with the Santa Fe getting me an avg. 21.5-22 mpg in mostly rural driving. Trips yield over 24 mpg. Build quality seems very good and I've had no problems to date.

This car is beautiful. The front and profile are classic. Got the 2.7 six instead of the 3.5. 2.7 goes good, but I wish I'd gotten the 3.5. Cargo area is very good sized for an SUV in this size range. Very nice ride, even compared to the Town and Country minivan I traded in for this. Radio (monsoon) sounds very nice, switches and knobs are laid out pretty good. Ample leg and torso room in front. Rear seat okay for 3 average adults. Tall/larger folks would be cramped for 3 across. Electric moon roof rocks. 60 month/ 60,000 miles warranty, 10 yr 100000 mile drivetrain warranty.

We have driven it for almost two months and love it. It's easy to get accustomed to all the switches and pedals - the seats are soft and comfortable. It has plenty of "get up and go" for all the hills, etc. we have. We would definately want the 3.0L if we wanted to tow/haul things. We drove the Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute (the same motor as the Ford Escape), Jeep Victory and other Jeeps and Saturn Vue and kept going back to the Hyundai Santa Fe! Compare apples to apples and you'll come out way ahead of the others with the Santa Fe.

The Santa Fe drives like a car, drives smooth and very good going around corners. The heated front seats are nice but since I live in Florida I haven't used that feature yet. It is very comfortable no matter where you sit in the car, from the driver seat to the back seat. Although the driver seat is the best seat in the car.

I just traded in my 2000 Sonata GLS V6 with 26,000 miles on it for a new 2002 Santa Fe. It was a demo from the dealer and had 3000 miles on it. It is a 4 cylinder and the automatic transmission. I have heard that the the V6 is the way to go but I absolutely love my new 4 cylinder Santa Fe!! It is totally loaded with ABS, cargo net, remote and the cargo cover. It is a silver beauty. This is my third Hyundai that I have purchased and I am very impressed with the Hyundai line.

There's a lot of std equipment on this car(including side airbag) and it's build solidly and tightly. I am satisfied with this car even though I had quite a few trip back to dealer to fix the engine computer that refuse to behave. Its fuel comsumption is on the low side even for SUV.

Not only was this my first new car, but my first SUV. I never road in a SUV with such a smooth ride. You forget it's a SUV because the ride feels like a car. My mother had the Jeep Liberty and hated it because of the rough ride. When she drove the Santa Fe, she feel in love. Everything about this SUV is great. The style, performance, gas miles, ride, etc. I would recemmend it to anyone.

The Hyundai Santa Fe is an excellent SUV at a low price. It combines a comfortable ride with secure handing and many standard features at a low price. But acceleration and fuel economy don't match up to today's standards. Overall it is a great vehicle and I recommend it to anyone wanting a small SUV. Reliability is great, too.

I just love my Hyundai Sante Fe. I ended up getting the LX with all the bells and whistles and can't believe what I got for $19,000! I can't understand how the dealership is making any money off these. The ride is great, not big and bulky. I drive alot for work and I wanted a SUV, so my first need was a good warranty and with the 100,000mile bumper to bumper...how could I go wrong. I would definately buy another and recommend it to anyone. And as for any "sluggishness" that some have referred to, I don't understand what they are talking about. It's not a sports car!! I perky enough for me.

We have had our santa fe for about 3 1/2 months now and we love it. We took it on a road trip from southern cali all the way up north to napa valley. The ride was great, smooth, quiet, and fun. Despite some reviews i've read saying it's underpowered i do not believe so with the 3.5 liter engine. It's no sports car but it does have get up and go. We researched almost all the suv's out there (ford tribute, rav4, nissan xtera, jeep, montero, the hondas, mountaineer and kia) and for price, features, warranty and safety the santa fe was our winner. The price, safety, and warranty lead us to the santa fe. (check out the warranty and research it online.)

We researched for months before we even knew what we wanted to test-drive and Edmunds was THE most useful site we found! Hubby and I narrowed our choices to Toyota Highlander and this Santa Fe. It was no contest! We paid about $7,000 less and got a great-looking vehicle with tons of options! It is fun to drive and does NOT look like a cookie- cutter SUV that everyone else has. Try it for yourself!

We needed to find a vehicle that would ride similarly to the unit it replaced which was a 1995 full size Ford conversion van. My wife & I went on an 1100 mile trip in the van and her hip never hurt or caused us to stop. When we would ride in our 1995 Lumina, her maximun duration was an hour. We test drove the Santa Fe and it met her needs. We have the 4 cyl. seems to give it plenty of go at highway speeds. It lacks a little on the low end but not bad. Just put your foot in a little deeper! We hope to drive it for at least 5-7 years.

I was skeptical when going to test drive about a newer SUV and it's quality and sturdiness. It is a solid, tightly constructed vehicle. The Shiftronic trans is great and the 2.7 V6 is very economic, when you are talking about SUVs. It feels safe and has a great rating for safety. How many cars have side air bags standard? A lot of storage compartments and nice features. Drives like a car and has a small turning ratio to get in and out of tight spots.

Bought this car in Jan 03 to replace a 2002 Santa Fe which we totalled on an icy snowy curve on Rt. 81 in NY. On the total we got back all of our cost except for $1400 which in not bad for a year of driving. We survived with NO injuries, the front axle bent which damaged the transmission. The 2003 is a joy to drive, the mileage is 25+ on a trip, city about 20. We have 7500 miles now with no problems.

My wife and I could not believe the number of options that were standard on our Santa Fe. The LX trim line really comes loaded to the point that you feel that you are in a luxury vehicle. Top that off with better than average performance and a very comfortable ride and you can't help but fall in love with the Santa Fe.

I have had it only 5 days but I am very, very impressed. Good luck finding the color that you want. These are flying off the lot and on to the road. I can't believe how many I see on the road now. I needed something with decent gas mileage, something comfortable and something great in the snow. I got 250 inches this last season in upstate NY. The Grandam can't handle that. Read all of the reviews because they are very helpful and appreciated. Thanks ALL!

STAY AWAY from SAN LEANDRO HYUNDAI! WORST in the car business. LIED to me there wasn't a 3.5 liter because didn't have one on the lot. Found on Hyundai website it does exist. LIED to me about the 0% financing but had ad with me so hard to deny. Inept paperwork through mail, leaving half address, getting whole cities states wrong but having correct zip code? Turly did NOT care care once I left with vehicle. Left messages with people trying to help get paperwork sent to the correct address. NEVER got answer. I'll NEVER give them business again, don't deserve it. Sorry but true. Want to build loyalty? Start with those that sell you car to.

All of the car manufacturers have stopped making big, low priced family station wagons. Definitely buy this "SUV" without hesitation if a big station wagon is what you really need. You will not be disappointed! And don't assume that you need to upgrade to a six-cylinder engine just because all of the "professional" reviews say so. If you can't live with the base four, you probably didn't want a station wagon to begin with.

At 1000 miles, the ride is great, the seating and roominess of the vehicle is fantastic, sun roof helps quite a bit with ventilation(I'm a smoker) the combo cd & cassette is wonderful, The vehicle is smooth riding and peppy. 5-speed shifts well & engine is quiet and the interior is comfortable. Reviews from this website say the engine is underpowered, what are they comparing it to. I've driven everything from a Saturn Vue (crappy, noisy&slower), Rav4 (solid, averagepower, abit pricey), and CRV (same power, comfortable, but ugly and overpriced). The car passes very well in the city/highway. Overall this is the best buy only options added was A/C & alarm. Having the split window open in the back is very convenient plus other people who own Japanese cars can't get over how good this SUV really is. Do yourself a favour and when test driving other SUV's try this one out too.

If you don't need 4WD or a huge engine, you're going to love this model. The 4 cyl. with a 5 spd. is plenty, and the ride is really nice. Makes you feel like you're in a 30K machine. I paid (and I think you can too) 16K even including freight, for a package 2 with floor mats and cargo tray. It may not be the best deal, but it's damn good. If you're afraid of the Hyundai name, just try one for the fun of it. You'll be afraid no longer, but you might fall in love..

Overall, very pleased with car. Good heating/AC; like the 6 CD Monsoon system; seems compfortable to ride in and drive. Not too happy with the shift points--engine seems to strain and rev too high on the road. Small nit-picking--would be nice if door lock buttons were lighted; not impressed with the diversity radio antenna.

Very spunky V6. My husband loves the speed shift feature. There's some wind noise from the sunroof but it's tolerable. Plenty of cargo room. Lots of extras (leather, 6 disc player, auto A/C, sunroof) for the money. Great gas mileage (app 22 mpg in city - and I have a heavy foot)!!

The 3.5L engine gives this vehicle the only thing that was missing when comparing to other SUV's. With a price out the door with taxes at $25,000, it's a steal. No other SUV can match that price with all the extra features that are included in the price.

We love it. We are expecting our first child in June and needed a bigger and safer vehicle. I love the style and the interior of this SUV. There's plenty of room up front and in back for tall and large people. So far after every baby shower we've had plenty of room for our gifts. The dash and other components on the inside look very fancy and are located in perfect positions. We love this car.

I bought the Santa Fe for my mom last year when her 96 Toyota Corolla was totaled in an accident. She had problems entering and exiting the Corolla because of arthritis. Now she rarely complains because the Santa Fe is so much higher off the ground. She really enjoys driving it; she never thought she could maneuver an SUV. But the Santa Fe is very responsive, and it doesn't drive like a truck. I'm planning to buy a Santa Fe for myself. I get many compliments on the Santa Fe, and one co-worker has purchased one in the last month. Several others are talking about buying a Santa Fe.

I loved the Santa Fe from the start, good ride, gas mileage is what you should really expect (20mpg highway). Everything went downhill when the transfer case broke down after I had the car for only 3 weeks. Dealership said it was a fluke occurrance, but regardless I will be worried about the reliability from now on. The warranty is nice but knowing you'll have to use it is not.

I investigated all SUVs for the past year. This car is the best bang for the buck! Most options on other cars are standard on this one. Main gripes are poor fuel mileage (19/gal) and lack of electric seat. Also, when I put on the roof racks, I had a bad whistling sound as I drove over 40mph! I removed them and it got better. For a V6, could use more power. Otherwise, I am happy with my purchase and compared to other SUVs in this range, this is the best buy!

I started researching for a new suv about Jan of 03. It is now April 03 and I will be buying a Santa Fe. Everyone I've talked to, including my very trusting insurance agent and all the reviews I've seen, I've only seen one bad one, and there have been many many reviews, and the bad one I seen, just said poor (21m said it-go fiqure). I can't wait to go get mine this month. And strangly enough, my insurance is running within $30 of my old 97, Pont. Grand AM insurance. So for all you researchers, times up, this is the one.

The Santa Fe comes standard with more features and upgrades than one can imagine. It also has superior crash test ratings. The interior is classy with the wood grain trim, and it feels very heavy and durable-not those cheap plastic pieces you find in isuzu or nissan. For the price, you can't go wrong!!!!!!!!!!

I recently purchased the 2003 Santa Fe LX, and for the price paid it's a excellent value. The other brands that I compared with the Santa Fe cost thousands more for similar options/features. I'm still in the break-in period so there is not much to say about the performance or Fuel economy. The V6 24 valve fuel injected motor seems to have enough power for this vehicle and it is a quiet motor. The interior has plenty of room and is very comfortable. So far I've been very happy and pleased by this vehicle.

We can only reiterate what others have said. This is an outstanding vehicle for the money, far better than even the Honda/Acura cars we have owned. Hyundai has come a long way in improving quality. We purchased the extended warranty which is not only a bargain, but cancellable (unlike most), refundable and transferable! Some wind noise (probably due to rack/crossbars) over 70mph, seats need more thought, car is about 200lb too heavy but overall an outstanding bargain. We purchased over the Net and saved sales commissions; for a GLS with ABS/TCS we paid under $20K. Nothing else can touch it and the buying experience was painless.

As others reviewers have noted it could use a bit more get up and go, and a bit better gas mileage (I've filled twice and am in the 20/21 MPG range). Other than that I love this SUV. Mine came with side running boards installed. Kinda sets it apart from others I've seen. Great sound system - 6 speaker Monsoon Stereo with CD and Cassette. Well thought out interior with loads of pockets and storage bins. Nice touch in cargo area with the storage pockets back there. Have gotten lots of looks and had several "wow, that's nice" comments.

I am finding it extremely diffucult to find anything really wrong with the Santa Fe. It is surprisingly built very solidly, and along with the warrenty package and price-made this vehicle very difficult to pass up. While some may complain about the lack of power @173HP, I honestly cannot see the complaint legitimately. It's handled everything I have asked from quick acceleration, to passing to top speed, it is more than adequate for an SUV owner. As for the styling? While it may not be for everyone, it has some inexplicable way of growing on you.

Very happy w/ my Santa Fe. Bought it to drive in the mountains of Colorado. Little under powered climbing the hills, but the gas mileage makes up for it. Back seat is huge...fits three grown adults easily. We camp a lot & love it with all the room inside. Bought the roof rack for the top, but would now rahter have a Yakima or thule because they hold greater amounts of weight. Current rack only holds up to 75 lbs.

After owning Acura, Honda and Mitsubishi I looked at the Sante Fe and was won over by the quality, drive, price and 0% financing. This vehicle is one of the best buys out there for a mid size SUV. I own a full size Montero but the Hyundai is better built. I actually bought 1 and helped buy one for a friend of my wife who was turning in an Escalade. Never wanted a SUV. Wife saw the Santa Fe and said it was a nice looking car. Went to the dealer and after driving it, was impressed with the comfort, ride, and quality, not to mention the warranty. Bought it on the spot to replace my station wagon. Both of us are extremely satisfied after 8000 miles. Dealer is great.

Drove the Santa Fe at the start of the East Coast Prez' Day 2003 blizzard and in the aftermath. It was slipping and sliding in just a few inches of snow/slush. Had a lot of trouble going up small grades in the mess, too. I expected the Santa Fe to grab/grip the road better than it was doing. It just seemed to be skating along and not plowing through. I know, I know. I didn't get the All Wheel Drive version or a six-cylinder so I should be happy with what I have. My previous driving experience was with a 5-speed Protege and a 5-speed Camry. Anyway, maybe I had too high expectations for my family's "Blue Catfish on Wheels."

We were pleasantly surprised to find such a stylish SUV available, and even more surprised to learn that it cost less than $20K! It's the quietest and smoothest-riding car we've had the pleasure to own. Our gas mileage has been between 25 and 30 MPG, which is phenomenal for SUVs. In short, we're delighted, and we may well buy another Hyundai very soon.

Can not beat the price for what you get. The Hyundia Santa Fe doesn't have any cheapter parts than other vehicles priced much higher. They are all using more plastic then metal now days. The Warranty is the best there is with 5 years/60,000 miles bumper to bumper and there 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

A very good experience

Its a fun car to drive. A bit underpowered, but not so much as to make it undesireable. There is some body roll in hard cornering, but it is still acceptable. The ride is car like and the seating is quite comfortable. Standard features go on and on. Monsoon stereo is awesome.

I went searching for an SUV for my husband (for business clients and business travel). He wanted a reliable & comfortable 4WD SUV that was stylish and roomy...he also did not want to pay 30,000K for it. Well, my 2.5 year daughter and I must have test driven every 2003 4WD SUV that was available. Like the: Tribute, Rav4, XTERRA, Rendezvous, Blazer, Tracker, VUE, Escape, CR-V, 02' Passport, Rodeo, Liberty, Sorento, Montero Sport, Outlander, X-L7, Grand Vitara, Highlander.... Out of all of the Above 1. 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe 4WD V6 SUV Led the way in style, and price!

I have 8000 KL. on my S.Fe& love it, it makes my feel like I did in the 50's when I drove my MGB. Handles beautiful smooth ride, but this winter in snow & ice it proved its self. has go, had Toyota Previa AWD for 12 years pior and it would spin a lots more. I think it is because of the higher ratio for the 1st.speed & larger wheels plus it is lighter. Gas consumtion is fair, whsh the rear seats would fold flat.

Really enjoy the exterior styling, more curvy than most "box shaped" SUVs. Have the leather interior - very comfortable. Good all round viewing (added 2" convex mirrors onto side mirrors). Lots of storage room for average days when seats up, and for bulky days when seat(s) down. Like the ability to shut off Air Conditioning when using windshield vents 9can't do that it my Tiburon)

Purchased new Santa Fe GLS 6 cyl. Fun to drive, fuel efficient, good ride. Only complaint is that when I purchased from Planet Hyundai in Las Vegas they had over 100. Every one had a tow hitch and mud flaps installed at the factory which most people don't want. However, none of the GLS models had ABS which saves money on insurance....had to up one grade and take a moonroof in order to get ABS....every vehicle sold in US that has ABS available should have it installed at the factory.

It has been almost 5 months and 6,000 miles and I still enjoy getting into it every day. I have not had to take it in for even minor adjustments. (This review is for a 2002.)

I have reviewed alot of SUV's and for some reason I always came back to the Hyundai Santa Fe. I think its not only fun to drive but, I feel safe driving my little ones in it. Women look for safety, comfort, style and luxury. And this has it all. Hyundai built a great SUV....Thanks!!

Hyundai has been working hard to shed it's image of self-destructing cars of the 1980's, and that hard work showing. At first, I dismissed the Hyundai Sante Fe because of my preconceived notion that "Hyundai" was synonymous with "cheap". However, after driving this car, my opinion now is that "Hyundai" is synonymous with "great value" Loaded with standard features that would cost thousands more as options on other brands, this is the "poor man's Lexus". It's well built, has a superior warranty, and its charming good looks is sure to turn heads whether on or off the pavement.

Let's talk service... I bought the car over the internet from Miami. Paperwork and a set of key was fedexed and my car was parked at the Denver airport with a location map faxed to me. No car dealership will do that for you. The Santa Fe is delightful and when I am back in Miami with my S430 I still miss it.

I have 3500 miles on my 2003 Santa Fe and am very pleased with it. It is an excellent value, and has very good build quality. No problems so far. The SF has a great ride, great visibility, and the engine is acceptably powerful, although not overly so. I have never needed more power than the engine delivers. The SF is also quieter than some of its Japanese competitors. Its even quieter than my 2000 Honda Accord 4 cyl.

I was the last person to think I would buy a Hyundai. Our sales-person allowed us to us a Santa Fe for the day while we shopped for vehicles. We compared it side by side with Honda, Toyota, GMC, Saturn, Ford, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Jeep. None of those came close as far as what you get for the money. None of them were anywhere near comprable when it came to comfortable ride. Some will think that they need more power in an SUV. Those are the ones that roll over on the interstate from going too fast.

Great vehicle. Got the LX with the moon roof option. Researched SUVs for the last year. The Santa Fe by far had the most features and the best warranty. I've not been disappointed in anything. Took a trip the week after I got it and it held four suitcases and golf clubs in the cargo area. My wife (who doesn't particularly like SUVs) liked the ride and said the stereo was better than the one in her Pontiac Bonneveille. Fit and finish are great, and dealer has been super. Comments about being under powered are not tru. Cruised on interstate at 80 without a problem. Only option I didn't get was towing package. Definitely my best car ever.

I just love this four cylinder, monster eatin' machine! It looks and drives like my old Monte Carlo, without all the weird looks, or the GM nametag. The five speed is crisp, clean and well planned, I drive nearly fifty miles one way, weigh over 320 lbs and it all fits comfortably! Even my frequent on the road lunches. Plus I love the fold out rear table that covers the spare tire, I can host small and intimate clientele luncheons and have room left over to take everyone with me! God I love this monster eatin' machine, do yourself a favor, get off your butt and go buy one of these machines, it'll be worth your while!

After checking out the Hyundai line of cars at the dealership, I saw the Santa fe. It looked well built and asked for a test drive. It was so car like in it's ride and comfortable that I bought one within a week. I now have a silver 2003 LX with the optional sunroof (everything else is standard it seems). I have read others comment about this car and I agree with all the positive comments. I sit high and the view is terrific. There is no other SUV in this class that in my opinion rides so nicely! Almost everything is well thought out and the quality is very high. It may not be perfect for all, but what SUV is?

My wife and I are loyal Subaru owners, but when we were in the market for a new family car, we thought we would give Hyundai a shot. When my wife drove this vehicle for the first time, she basically said forget the Subaru, I want this Santa Fe!! If the word "Hyundai" makes you think of an old '86 Excel, well it's definitely time to change your thinking. This is a well-built vehicle that offers great utility in a very bold, unique looking package, of course backed by an incredible warranty.
